Possibly, as is common in etymology, one origin is correct (either from Morgen or mooi) but spread thanks to its oral assimilation with the other term.

His appearance as Hercules in Handel's music drama, opposite Isobel Baillie, at the 1936 Norwich Festival was much admired. In this period he made recordings for His Master's Voice, including the successful Bach record of How Jovial is my Laughter (Secular Cantata 5, No. 3, Wie will'ich lustig lachen) and Twas in the cool of eventide (St Matthew Passion, No. 74, Am Abend, da es kühle war).HMV B 3581. cf.
Most of her poems were published in Stein's Freitag-Abend at Frankfurt. In 1865 her poem "Ein Lied vom Salz" (A lyric about salt), a plea for the removal of the tax on salt in Prussia, spread her reputation. She had an abiding interest in public and patriotic questions: The Franco-Prussian War, the Fifteenth Amendment, Friedrich Hecker, the emancipation of women, and the cause of liberty and democracy were among her themes. Jewish national and religious feelings were equally a source of inspiration.
In the 1990s Erpenbeck started a writing career in addition to her directing. She is author of narrative prose and plays: her debut novella in 1999, Geschichte vom alten Kind (The Old Child); in 2001, her collection of stories Tand (Trinkets); in 2004, the novella Wörterbuch (The Book of Words); and in 2008, the novel Heimsuchung (Visitation). In 2007, Erpenbeck took over a biweekly column by Nicole Krauss in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In 2015 the English translation of her novel Aller Tage Abend (The End of Days) won the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize.

Lotte Lasserstein at Leicester's German Expressionist Collection. Retrieved 17 March 2017 Her most famous paintings, for example Die Tennisspielerin (The Tennis Player, 1929), contributed to the verism of New Objectivity movement but also showed continuity with German Naturalism. Laserstein's masterpiece was the large (about 7– 8 feet wide) 1930 painting Abend über Potsdam (Evening over Potsdam), a frieze of friends sharing a meal on their terrace, with Potsdam's skyline arrayed in the far distance. The painting was so large that it needed the co-operation of friends to transport it.
Laserstein was rediscovered in 1987, when Thomas Agnew & Sons and the Belgrave Gallery organized a joint exhibition and sale of works she had retained in her personal collection, including Abend über Potsdam, now in the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin.Women Artists Slide Library Journal 22 (April–May 1988). Retrieved 5 November 2014 Laserstein attended the exhibition together with her close friend and model of many decades, Traute (Gertrud) Rose. Her painting Traute washing was the first purchase by the National Museum of Women in the Arts with its own funds.
Boder made his debut at the Vienna State Opera on 15 December 1995, conducting Alban Berg's Wozzeck. He conducted there also Elektra, Die Frau ohne Schatten and Ariadne auf Naxos, all by Richard Strauss, Schönberg's Die Jakobsleiter, Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, Berg's Lulu, Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Hindemith's Cardillac, and the premieres of Friedrich Cerha's Der Riese vom Steinfeld in 2002 and Aribert Reimann's Medea in 2010. He made his debut at the Royal Opera House conducting Verdi's Rigoletto. He conducted there the premiere of Morgen und Abend by Georg Friedrich Haas.
After aborting his study and writing Biagn und Brechen (1988) and Bunter Abend (1990) he celebrated his breakthrough with the tragicomic play Indien, which was filmed by Paul Harather in 1993 with Josef Hader himself in the leading role. With the film Indien and his following shows Im Keller (1993) and Privat (1994) he became one of the most successful and most respected comedians in the German- speaking world. His comedy programme Privat is the most successful comedy in Austrian history. His most recent show called "Hader muss weg" is more acting than comedy.
Initially, Novell published a development toolkit for NLM programming including kernel API documentation and a C compiler (Watcom), but third-party support for the NLM executable function was very limited. In early NetWare versions (prior to v4.x), all processes were executed in the kernel address space, without specific memory protection. It was therefore possible for bugs in NLMs to overwrite the kernel's or other NLM's address space and ultimately crash the server -- in the mainframe-derived Novell terminology, this was known as an ABEND or ABnormal END.
While the beginning of the movement has no tempo marking, the middle section is marked Andante and in Alla-breve time, suggesting a faster pace. The voices, accompanied first only by the continuo, perform a fugue on two subjects at the same time: "denn es will Abend werden" (for it is toward evening) and "und der Tag hat sich geneiget" (and the day is far spent). A third motif, long notes on the same pitch, illustrates the "abiding" or staying. The movement is closed by a shortened reprise of the beginning.
These will supervene after physical death. Halm's high reputation during his lifetime is indicated by the stone bust which was carved of him and which still sits on top of the famous Burgtheater in Vienna, alongside those of Schiller, Goethe and Grillparzer. From an early age, Halm showed an aptitude for fictional narrative, perhaps first exemplified in the charming tale, Die Abendgenossen, written when Halm was in his early twenties. Another early novella from this period, Ein Abend zu L, contains insights on sex and homosexuality which anticipate Freudian psycho-analytical notions.
After 12 years at Munich he was permitted a farewell (15 June) in Das Nachtlager in Granada (hardly a showcase) and Erb, who loved Munich, left in bitterness. A year later his baritone colleague Brodersen died, and was replaced by Heinrich Rehkemper: the bass Paul Bender, at Munich since 1903, remained. Ivogün would not remain under Knappertsbusch, and went to the Berlin-Charlottenburg Oper. In 1926 Erb, Ivogün and their accompanist Michael Raucheisen were giving recitals in Bremen, and shortly before a Duetten-abend Erb tripped on the hotel steps and broke his right leg.
In 1920 he relocated to Berlin to work as foreign correspondent for "Der Abend". According to his own writings, he was disappointed that the revolutionary events that marked Germany during 1918/19 had not triggered more than a feeble echo in Vienna. Berlin, he stated, was a "workers' city" and as such at the heart of "events" in a way that Vienna was not. In Berlin he was a frequent visitor to the Romanisches Café where he got to know politically like-minded left-wing writers including Egon Kisch and Anton Kuh.
Johannes Mario Simmel (7 April 1924 - 1 January 2009), also known as J. M. Simmel, was an Austrian writer. He was born in Vienna and grew up in Austria and England. He was trained as a chemical engineer and worked in research from 1943 to the end of World War II. After the end of the war, he worked as a translator for the American military government and published reviews and stories in the Vienna Welt am Abend. Starting in 1950, he worked as a reporter for the Munich illustrated Quick in Europe and America.
Her father, Marcus Cohen, a physician, gave her a careful education. At 14, she wrote for a journal in Hamburg, and later for one in Budapest and for L. Stein's Der Freitag-Abend. After her marriage in 1862 to Rabbi L. Kleeberg, she lived in Rhenish Prussia, where she moved in a circle of literary men, chief among them Emil Rittershaus. In 1866 Minna Kleeberg emigrated to the United States, living until 1877 in Louisville, Kentucky, where her husband had been elected rabbi of a congregation, and removing thence to New Haven.
She sings that she had planned a romantic evening, but was slightly concerned due to the manner in which they had left each other the last time they were together. In any event, her confidence that he would come, paid off. Torr recorded her entry in five languages: French, German (Er kommt heute Abend zu mir), English (Only Tears are Left for Me), Spanish (Te esperaba), and Italian (Stasera ti aspettavo). The song was performed fourth on the night (following Belgium's Tonia with Un peu de poivre, un peu de sel and preceding Yugoslavia's Berta Ambrož with Brez besed).
In the 2017/18 season, Köln's poor start was the worst ever start to a Bundesliga season, with only three points from the opening 14 matches. In October, Schmadtke resigned. After a win against Arsenal in the Europa League, a loss against Hertha and a draw against Schalke in the league, Schmidt and Stöger were sacked on 3 December 2017. Stöger was still supported by the fans and the team at the time; he came to a fundraising event for disabled kids the night after his dismissal.Gala am Rauswurf-Abend Ovationen für Stöger: „Nie mehr auszulöschen aus Köln!“, Express, 2017-12-04.
The original film is generally thought to have lapsed into the public domain due to a failure to renew the film's copyright after 28 years. However the underlying work, the 1935 book 1101 Park Avenue - re-titled My Man Godfrey with the film's release - had its copyright renewed in 1963 and is thus still in copyright. According to Stanford University Library, and under rulings of Stewart v. Abend, in so-called multilayered works, the rights holder of the original work can claim ownership of the film script, though not the pictures, if the original book is still in copyright.
His collected works, Samtliche Werke, were published arranged in chronological order in eight volumes (1856–1864), to which four posthumous volumes were added in 1872. Also published were Ausgewählte Werke, ed. by Anton Schlossar in 4 vols. (1904). Published in the 21st century in Amazon Kindle format were a collection of poems entitled Unpublished Poems of Friedrich Halm (2011), the full text of Halm's novella, Das Auge Gottes (2011), as well as Halm's novella, Ein Abend zu L. In 2010, he recorded and co- edited the new Boosey and Hawkes edition of the Bernstein Clarinet Sonata which is now in book/CD form. Mr. Levy can also be heard on the 2008 release of Marc Neikrug's Through Roses chamber work for the Koch label, together with violinist Pinchas Zukerman, actor John Rubenstein and the composer conducting. His latest recording of the Brahms Clarinet Sonatas with UWM faculty member Elena Abend on the Avie label was just released. In June 2007, he recorded three book/CD's entitled the "Clarinet Collection" for the G. Schirmer Instrumental Library Collection.
Three months later, long after the Berlin Wall fell but before German reunification, AK Zwo's theme and graphics were carried over to Aktuelle Kamera versions on the DFF1 (the former DDR1) on 12 March 1990. The 12:50 newscast was from then known as AK am Mittag ("CC at Midday") and the main broadcast at 19:30 became AK am Abend ("CC Evening"). News summaries received the generic name of AK- Nachrichten (simply "CC-News") or AK-Kurznachrichten. The 1990 editions featured highlights of the events on the eve of national reunification (2–3 October) and on the day itself.
Special Sorrows: The Diasporic Imagination of Irish, Polish, and Jewish Immigrants in the United States. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 1995. pp. 62-63, 150 At the time of the Cuba war, Dos Abend Blatt was one of the first newspapers to voice opposing to the policies of the American government. The paper, through the editorials of Krantz and Benjamin Feygenbaum, opposed the nationalist fervour that the war aroused, and argued that the war was carried out for the benefit of the dominant classes, that Cuba would not be liberated but put under American rule and that the working class was suffering the losses at the battlefield.
He ended his seven-year work in Munich with a highly praised performance of a series of all Beethoven symphonies at the Prinzregententheater. His knowledge on the works of Richard Wagner, in particular Der Ring des Nibelungen, helped produce the Vicco von Bülow film The Ring on a Single Night (German: Der Ring an einem Abend) and the production of an orchestral version of The Ring Without Words (German: Der Ring ohne Worte) in 2003. Other engagements, some of them international, led to him performing with such names as José Cura, Angela Gheorghiu and Rolando Villazón. During the 2004/2005 season, Förster accompanied the tenor Joseph Calleja in his Munich debut.
In 1976 Palm turned professional. Based in Denmark he built a professional record against primarily European boxers, including wins over former European champions Lothar Abend, Jose Antonio Jiminez, Henry Rhiney and Joseph Pachler and the British champion Clinton McKenzie. Having reached a record of 29-0 he was matched against European welterweight champion Jørgen Hansen in a rare match involving two Danes in a title bout. Palm entered the title bout as a favorite against the 37-year-old Hansen but lost by TKO in the ninth round on 17 October 1980. A rematch against Hansen for the European title on 9 October 1981 was lost by a close decision.
Some elements within the SLPs Jewish membership, concentrated in Manhattans Lower East Side, had objected to the party's dual unionism policy. As a consequence, the party's Yiddish language papers—the Dos Abend Blatt and Arbeter-Zeitung—were put under direct party control.Quint, pp. 171-173. When the dissidents responded by launching The Jewish Daily Forward and forming Press Clubs to influence party activity among Jewish members, the party leadership expelled the fourth, fifth and twelfth assembly district branches on July 4. The expelled branches held a convention July 31 to August 2, at which they decided to affiliate with the SDA.Quint, pp. 300–301.
Flight 89 was a regularly scheduled Delta Air Lines flight from LAX to Shanghai Pudong International Airport. On January 14, 2020, the Boeing 777-200ER widebody jet aircraft operating as Flight 89 departed from LAX at 11:32 AM. The aircraft had 149 passengers and 16 crew members on board. To reach Shanghai, the aircraft would be carrying enough fuel to exceed its certified maximum landing weight, increasing its landing distance and risking structural damage if fuel wasn't dumped. However, according to retired 777 pilot and CNN aviation analyst Les Abend, many runways at major airports can safely accommodate a landing by an overweight 777 in dry conditions.
Depictions of male and female masturbation are common in pornography, including gay pornography. Am Abend (1910), one of the earliest pornographic films that have been collected at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction, starts with a female masturbation scene. Solo performances in gay pornography have been described in 1985 as "either or both active (tense, upright) and/or passive (supine, exposed, languid, available)", whereas female solo performances are said to be "exclusively passive (supine, spread, seated, squatted, orifices offered, etc.)". Solo pornography recognized with AVN Awards include the All Alone series"2010 Winners ", AVN Awards, URL accessed 25 November 2012.
Cantata Singers and Emmanuel Music have co-commissioned Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Harbison to write The Supper at Emmaus, a new work for soloists, chorus and chamber orchestra. The world premiere performance of Harbison’s new work will be paired with Bach’s Chorale Prelude BWV 649, “Ach, bleib bei uns” orchestrated by David Hoose, Jan Dismas Zelenka's Miserere in C minor, ZWV 57, Zelenka's Motets from Responsoria pro Hebdomada Sancta, ZWV 55, and Bach's Cantata BWV 6, “Bleib bei uns, den es will Abend werden” (which is Bach's setting of the same text as Harbison's Supper at Emmaus) and will be held on Friday, May 9 at 8:00pm at NEC's Jordan Hall.
Inge Brück (born 12 October 1936 in Mannheim) is a German singer and actress, best known internationally for her participation in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. Brück began her singing career with the Erwin Lehn Dance Orchestra, where she was noticed by pianist Horst Jankowski, who arranged a television appearance with Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff, following which she was offered a recording contract. In 1957, she had a hit with "Peter, komm heut' abend zum Hafen", a version of "Green Door", which reached No. 7 in the German chart. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, she made numerous TV appearances, appeared in stage musicals and toured with orchestras including those of Jankowski and Hazy Osterwald.
As none of his works sold more than a few thousand copies (Schmidt openly admitted that he only wrote for the small handful of people who could appreciate his work), he lived in extreme poverty. During the last few years of his life, Arno Schmidt was financially supported by the philologist and writer Jan Philipp Reemtsma, the heir of the German cigarette manufacturer Philipp F. Reemtsma. Schmidt's final completed novel was Abend mit Goldrand (1975) which was praised by some critics for its verbal inventiveness, although many had a difficult time digesting the erotic themes of the book. He died in a hospital in Celle on 3 June 1979 after suffering a stroke.
Born in Basel, Vökt first studied law at the University of Basel, being awarded a Doctor of Law in 1955; at the same time, he studied voice with Ernst Reiter. He was a member of a choir in Basel from 1950 to 1958. He was an ensemble member of Theater Basel from 1955 to 1957. He was then a member of the Städtische Bühnen Oberhausen (1958–1959), Stadttheater Gießen (1959–1960), Opernhaus Kiel (1960–1962) and the Staatstheater Kassel (1962–1965). In Kassel, he appeared as Ceccho in the world premiere of the complete version of Henze's König Hirsch on 10 March 1963, and as the Father in Ján Cikker's Abend, Nacht und Morgen on 5 October 1963.
Richard Morrison, writing in The Times, opined that although the piece was slow to develop "By the end...I felt I was watching a very weird masterpiece". Rupert Christiansen, writing in The Daily Telegraph found the work "hypnotically beautiful yet turgidly tedious...Yet Haas’s music casts a spell...it moves like Scandinavian weather – clouds scudding, mists thickening, wind keening, thunderclaps crashing – through a glacial landscape of shimmering microtonal sound that is both precisely calibrated and eerily atmospheric".Rupert Christiansen, "Morgen und Abend, Royal Opera House, review: 'beautiful but turgid'", Daily Telegraph website, accessed 16 November 2015. Tim Ashley, in The Guardian, felt that "beautiful though it sounds, it is weak as drama".

Christy McCool’s final line-up was made up of Tree on vocals, Neil McAnally on bass, Jason D on guitar and Tom Wenzel on drums.
He kept the format of the chorale cantata cycle until Palm Sunday of 1725, but then repeated an early Easter cantata, Christ lag in Todes Banden, BWV 4, on Easter Sunday, and wrote Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden for Second Day of Easter as the first cantata in that cycle that was not a chorale cantata. The change was possibly due to the loss of a librettist. The prescribed readings for the feast day were from the Acts of the Apostles, the sermon of Peter (), and from the Gospel of Luke, the Road to Emmaus (). Bach used a text by an anonymous poet who had already supplied librettos for his first cycle.

He began his dramatic career in 1868 with Marion, the first of a long series of plays in which he displayed a remarkable talent for stage effect and a command of witty and lively dialogue. Among the more famous were Maria und Magdalena (1872), Tante Therese (1876), Gräfin Lea (1879), Die Erste (1895), Der Abend (1896), Der Herr im Hause (1899), and So ich dir (1903). He also adapted many plays by Dumas, Augier and Sardou for the German stage. Five volumes of his plays were published (Berlin, 1873–1888). Some of his volumes of short stories acquired great popularity, notably Herr und Frau Bewer (Breslau, 1882) and Toggenburg und andere Geschichten (Breslau, 1883).
Austrian Advent bowl In some German-speaking communities, in the German-speaking Europe; particularly in Catholic regions of western and southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein, as well as in other Catholic regions of Central Europe, the Christkind (literally "Christ child") brings the presents on the evening of December 24 (Holy Evening or Heiliger Abend).Forbes, Bruce David, Christmas: a candid history, University of California Press, 2007, The Christkind is invisible; thus he is never seen by anyone. However, he rings a bell just before he leaves in order to let children know that the Christmas tree and the presents are ready. It is a tradition to lavishly decorate a Christmas tree in the days directly before Christmas or on the morning of Christmas Eve.
In the United States, the images of Frank Capra's film It's a Wonderful Life (1946) entered into the public domain in 1974, because the copyright holder failed to file a renewal application with the Copyright Office during the 28th year after the film's release or publication. However, in 1993, Republic Pictures utilized the 1990 United States Supreme Court ruling in Stewart v. Abend to enforce its claim of copyright because the film was a derivative work of a short story that was under a separate, existing copyright, to which Republic owned the film adaptation rights, effectively regaining control of the work in its complete form.James Bates, "Company Town Yule With Less 'Wonderful Life'? Tune In", Los Angeles Times, November 23, 1993, p. D4.
On the night of the final the Kesslers performed 6th in the running order, following eventual contest winners the Netherlands and preceding Sweden. Of the eleven entries, only the German and Italian songs had a sound approaching contemporary music styles of 1959, and the Kesslers further livened up their performance with a choreographed instrumental break, a first in Eurovision. However, the criticism which would be made of Eurovision juries for decades to come - that they persistently rejected contemporary-sounding songs in favour of ones in a safer and more traditional style - seemed to apply in 1959, as at the close of voting "Heute Abend wollen wir tanzen geh'n" had received only 5 points, placing Germany 8th. The German jury awarded its highest mark (4) to France.
Jeff Cohen started a publishing company in 2012 called Silent Gate Music, which then changed to Nashville International Music in 2013. Cohen then discovered, signed and developed artist Nikhil D’Souza. Nikhil was singing Bollywood songs in India when Jeff brought him over to Nashville, LA and NYC to write songs then to London where he secured Nikhil a record deal with Warner UK. Cohen also signed and developed Producer/Songwriter Zach Abend, who has had hits with Canadian artists such as Jess Moskaluke and Meghan Patrick along with songs by Cassadee Pope, Chris Lane, Cale Dodds, Filmore, and Ingrid Andress. Cohen is also credited as a co-writer on the theme song to Nickelodeon animated series PAW Patrol, written by Nashville International Music writer Scott Krippayne.
These views brought them in contact with other dissident groups and they all entered into the political arena when the Restoration-era Church refused to tolerate their "heresies". Debates over the secularization of cemeteries in particular granted spiritists a degree of public legitimacy and brought them into the circle of freethinkers who embraced republicanism.Lisa Abend, "Specters of the Secular: Spiritism in Nineteenth-century Spain," European History Quarterly (2004) 34#4 pp 507-534 The first instance of anti-clerical violence due to political conflict in the 19th century occurred during the First Spanish Civil War (1820–23). During riots in Catalunya, 20 clergymen were killed by members of the liberal movement in retaliation for the Church's siding with absolutist supporters of Ferdinand VII.
In computing, a core dump, memory dump, crash dump, system dump, or ABEND dump consists of the recorded state of the working memory of a computer program at a specific time, generally when the program has crashed or otherwise terminated abnormally. In practice, other key pieces of program state are usually dumped at the same time, including the processor registers, which may include the program counter and stack pointer, memory management information, and other processor and operating system flags and information. A snapshot dump (or snap dump) is a memory dump requested by the computer operator or by the running program, after which the program is able to continue. Core dumps are often used to assist in diagnosing and debugging errors in computer programs.
Aviation experts were puzzled by the actions of the flight crew. A former United Airlines captain called the fuel dump over a populated area "a pretty outrageous thing" that "nobody" would do. Safety expert John Cox said that because "they were not in an immediate threat condition, and they started out over water," the pilots will need to explain "why they continued to dump fuel at low altitude when they weren't in a fuel-dumping area, and didn't advise ATC that they were dumping fuel." Abend noted that the pilots twice told controllers that they needed to delay the landing for unexplained reasons, suggesting that they needed more time to complete checklists and dump fuel, and did not feel compelled to land right away.

She was a presenter of the NDR Hamburg Harbour Concert broadcasts, and by the mid 1950s had become a regular presenter of a number of popular television series, such as "Umschau/Mittag am Abend", the radio travel programme "Zwischen Hamburg und Haiti", Hamburg Harbour Concert and "Funkbilder aus Niedersachsen" ("Radio pictures from Lower Saxony"). This last series involved pitching up in the main square of a succession small town with an outside broadcasting unit and one of the iconic Übertragungswagen ("broadcasting trucks") and from there producing live transmissions to audiences without studio intervention. Many of these reportages were broadcast across German and gave their presenter a national profile. By 1956 her reporting roles were complemented increasingly by editorial duties in the broadcaster's features department and main editorial office.

The descriptive nature of Suppé's overtures has earned them frequent use in numerous animated cartoons: Ein Morgen, ein Mittag, ein Abend in Wien (Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna) was the central subject of the 1959 Bugs Bunny cartoon Baton Bunny. Poet and Peasant appears in the Fleischer Studios 1935 Popeye cartoon The Spinach Overture and the Oscar nominated Walter Lantz film of the same title; the overture to Light Cavalry is used in Disney's 1942 Mickey Mouse cartoon Symphony Hour. The start of the cello solo (about one minute in) of the Poet and Peasant overture is nearly an exact match to the start of the folk song "I've Been Working on the Railroad", which was published in 1894.Studwell, William Emmett, The Americana Song Reader, Routledge, 1997, p. 73.
The Overseas Press Club aired a variety of programming on WNYC from the 1940s to the mid70s, including an regularly scheduled self-titled series in the l960s. The OPC was established in 1939 by a group of past and present foreign correspondents. Its stated purpose was to “bring together men and women whose past and present activities in the service abroad of the American press has given them common professional and social interests; to provide facilities for the expression of those interests; to promote good fellowship among its members, and to encourage the highest standards of independence, democracy and professional skill in the American foreign press services.” The Overseas Press Club first hit WNYC airwaves the following year, with an awards program honoring Leland Stowe, Hallett Abend, and Edward R. Murrow.
Vom Bäumlein, das andere Blätter hat gewollt ("Of the little tree which wished for different leaves") is a short anti-Semitic propaganda cartoon produced in 1940 in the Nazi movie studio Zeichenfilm GmbH. The movie depicts a "golden tree" inhabited by little birds, whose leaves (all but one) are stolen by a caricature of a Jewish man: Aber wie es Abend ward, ging der Jude durch den Wald, er steckt sie ein, geht eilends fort und lässt das leere Bäumlein dort..."But when night fell, the Jew passed through the forest; he puts them in his bag and leaves quickly, leaving the little tree all alone..." The cartoon is based on a poem by Friedrich Rückert of the same name. It was produced by Hubert Schonger and directed by Heinz Tischmeyer.
The last AK am Abend was anchored by Wolfgang Meyer on 14 December 1990 at 19:30, while the last newscast as Aktuelle Kamera was anchored by Petra Kusch-Lück at 1:00 on DFF1. The following day, DFF's newscasts were re-titled Aktuell ("Current"). East German television was reduced to one channel, after DFF1 folded, its transmitters becoming part of the Erstes Deutsches Fernsehen (now Das Erste) network. On 1 January 1992 at 0:00 (midnight), the former DFF2 was regionalised and incorporated into the ARD as the regional channel ("Dritte Programme" - "Third programme") for the "New Länder" under the names of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk Fernsehen (Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia), ORB- Fernsehen (Brandenburg, later merged with Sender Freies Berlin to form Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg on 1 May 2003) and N3 (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).
Jensen was a fertile German writer of fiction, more than one hundred and fifty works having proceeded from his pen; but only comparatively few of them caught the public taste; such as the novels, Karin von Schweden (Berlin, 1878); Die braune Erica (Berlin, 1868); and the tale, Die Pfeifer von Dusenbach, Eine Geschichte aus dem Elsass (1884). Others included: Barthenia (Berlin, 1877); Götz und Gisela (Berlin, 1886); Heimkunft (Dresden, 1894); Aus See und Sand (Dresden, 1897); Luv und Lee (Berlin, 1897); and the narratives, Aus den Tagen der Hansa (Leipzig, 1885); Aus stiller Zeit (Berlin, 1881–1885); and Heimat. Jensen also published some tragedies, among them Dido (Berlin, 1870) and Der Kampf fürs Reich (Freiburg im Br., 1884). He was also a gifted poet; a collection of his poetry is contained in "Vom Morgen zum Abend" (1897).
Since then, his talent and interpretive insight have made him a sought-after soloist who has performed extensively in concerts and recitals in Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Haiti, Brazil, South Korea and Japan. He has performed recitals with pianists including Elena Abend, Racha Arodaki, Lucia Barrenechea, François Chaplin, David Korevaar, Irène Kudela, Denis Pascal, May Phang, David Selig and François Weigel. The Evangelist narrates in several cantatas. In Jesus nahm zu sich die Zwölfe, BWV 22 (7 February 1723, Estomihi), the cantata starts with a scene from the Gospel, the announcement of suffering in Jerusalem, quoting . The tenor as the Evangelist begins the narration from the verse 31, ' (Jesus gathered the twelve to Himself). The bass as the vox Christi (voice of Christ) sings the announcement of the suffering, ' (Behold, we go up to Jerusalem), A choral fugue illustrates the reaction of the disciples. In Am Abend aber desselbigen Sabbats, BWV 42 (8 April 1725, first Sunday after Easter), the tenor opens after a Sinfonia, accompanied by the continuo in repeated fast notes, possibly illustrating the anxious heart beat of the disciples, when Jesus appears, "On the evening, however, of the same Sabbath, when the disciples had gathered and the door was locked out of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and walked among them", .
A Service Request Block (SRB) is a data structure of MVS/370 and successor versions of IBM mainframe operating systems employed mainly, but not exclusively, by the Start Input/Output interface. An SRB may be considered, in the abstract, to be a highly optimized Task Control Block (TCB), one which has few, if any, associated resources other than access to the processor itself. All system resources which are utilized under an SRB must be accessed through the use of "branch entries", some of which are new entries to traditional system services which were formerly accessed exclusively using SVC instructions (which an SRB may not employ for any purpose other than abnormally terminating itself in which case SVC 13, ABEND, may be used, however the "branch entry" to ABTERM is really more appropriate). When employed by the Start Input/Output interface, an SRB is always paired with an Input/Output Supervisor Block (IOSB).
The Buchenwald Group, a bronze statue by 280px Apitz had presented his novel as a fictional story based on true events: in the foreword, he dedicated Naked Among Wolves to "our fallen comrades in arms from all nations... In their honor, I have named many of the characters after some of them."Thiele. p. 235 In 1964, the East Berlin-based Berliner Zeitung am Abend located the child upon whose story the novel was based: Stefan Jerzy Zweig, who survived Buchenwald at the age of four with his father Zacharias, with the help of two prisoner functionaries: Robert Siewert and Willi Bleicher. Bleicher, a former member of the Communist Party of Germany (Opposition) and the kapo of the storage building, was the one who convinced the SS to turn a blind eye to the child. When Zweig was to be sent to Auschwitz, prisoners who were tasked with compiling the deportees' list erased his name and replaced him with Willy Blum, a sixteen-year-old Sinto boy.
The opera prompted an extended eulogy from Richard Wagner, who was present at the first night, in the Dresden Abend-Zeitung, for which he was a correspondent. However, since the 19th century it has been rarely revived. The libretto, or a version of it, was used by several other composers within a three-year period: Franz Lachner (1841), Michael Balfe (1844), and Gaetano Donizetti (1843), whose Caterina Cornaro is based on an Italian translation. The historical background was well summarised by Wagner in his review: :[...] In the latter half of the fifteenth century, with predatory designs on the isle of Cyprus, - then ruled by the French house of Lusignan - Venice hypocritically took the part of a prince of that house, whose right to the throne was disputed by his family, [...], helped him to his crown, and sought to saddle him with its baleful influence by giving him for his wife Catarina, daughter of the Venetian senator Andreas Cornaro.
The films have been described as "offering a more open engagement with American youth culture" and playing a "pivotal role in the rituals of protest shared by urban youth in East and West Berlin". The film was praised by newspapers such as BZ am Abend, Junge Welt and Berliner Zeitung for its accurate representation of urban culture in contemporary life in Berlin in the mid-fifties, that it showed people as they really were. However, some East German papers criticized the film for not providing an effective counter response to Uschi's notions that the East is bland and boring in comparison to the glamour of the west. Horst Knietzsch of Neus Deustchland believed that the "vital matters of the divided city" could have been dealt with much more effectively by Klein and Kohlhaase and by being more assertive in their depictions of the positive and negative aspects of the city at the time.
Vetter is a very creative and productive author and relevant musician, familiar with many styles ranging from punk to rock, funk (Deine Freundin), ska (Dermitder), reggae, dancehall, country and even, albeit in a jocular manner, in Volkstümliche Musik (Wenn es Abend wird). According to some reports, the difference between the songs Vetter has written solo and those he has written for Die Ärzte is that his solo pieces are more personal and topical. He tried to make his songs for Die Ärzte as "timeless" and funny as possible, influenced by the Comedian Harmonists. Many of his songs are about being left by one's partner (Zu spät (Too late), Wegen dir (Because of you), Wie am ersten Tag (Like on the first day), Komm zurück (Come back), Nie gesagt (Never told you), OK, 1000 Jahre schlechten Sex (1000 years of bad sex), Nichts in der Welt (Nothing in the world)) or are just nonsense (Buddy Holly's Brille (Buddy Holly's glasses), Außerirdische (Extraterrestrials), WAMMW (Abbreviation for Wenn alle Männer Mädchen wären — If all men were girls)).

Consulting with the Kansas City architectural firm of Wight & Wight, and with William Drewin Wight (1882–1947) serving as the principal architect, the Cathedral's Tower was finally completed to a new design by Mr. Wight in May 1938. Unfortunately, Mr. Ashley did not live to see the completed structure, for he died on February 9, 1938. He left a great legacy: he served for 51 consecutive years on the Vestry of the parish, through its three incarnations as Grace Church, Grace and Holy Trinity Church, and finally, Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral—and he spearheaded a successful campaign to finish the Cathedral building after more than 40 years of incompletion. The adjacent properties around the Cathedral were acquired between 1931 and 1976. A Diocesan Center was built in 1978 on the recently acquired southwest corner of the Cathedral's city block. It was designed by Stephen N. Abend (born 1939). The Diocesan Center was completed in 1980 and dedicated on Saturday, May 17, 1980. An organ by the German/Canadian organ builder Gabriel Kney (born 1929) was installed in the nave in 1981. The organ is Opus 94, and is one of the larger tracker action instruments Kney built.
As a result, Stewart and Hitchcock's estate became involved in the Supreme Court case, and Sheldon Abend became a producer of the 1998 remake of Rear Window. Rear Window is one of several of Hitchcock's films originally released by Paramount Pictures, for which Hitchcock retained the copyright, and which was later distributed by Universal Studios in 1983, although the Hitchcock estate still retains ownership to the copyright to the film. In 1997, Rear Window was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". By this time, the film interested other directors with its theme of voyeurism, and other reworkings of the film soon followed, which included Brian De Palma's 1984 film Body Double and Phillip Noyce's 1993 film Sliver. Rear Window was restored by the team of Robert A. Harris and James C. Katz for its 1999 limited theatrical re-release (using Technicolor dye-transfer prints for the first time in this title's history) and the Collector's Edition DVD release in 2000. American Film Institute included the film as number 42 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Movies, number 14 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Thrills, number 48 in AFI's 100 Years...100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) and number three in AFI's 10 Top 10 (Mysteries).
