Caw Fell is a fell in the English Lake District, standing between Haycock the Lank Rigg group. It occupies a wide upland area with Ennerdale to the north and Blengdale to the south. Caw Fell is distant from any point of access by Lakeland standards, but can be climbed from Blengdale or Bowness Knott car- parks.

Crag Fell is a hill in the English Lake District. It is part of the Lank Rigg group, standing above Ennerdale Water in the Western Fells. The craggy northern face above the lake gives the fell its name, prominent in views from the car park at Bowness Knott. Ascents are commonly made from the foot of Ennerdale Water.

De Stem des Bloeds (The Voice of Blood), also known as Njai Siti, is a 1930 film from the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). It was directed by Ph. This takes the walker past what Wainwright called the Crag Fell Pinnacles, a fractured spine of rock rising 80 ft above the angle of the slope. Other ascents can be made from the Coldfell Road, south of Ennerdale Bridge. A track, formerly the mine road, can be followed almost to the summit, passing over the flanks of Grike. A circuit of the upper Calder, taking in the whole Lank Rigg group can also be started from here.

Coming into the 2015–16 season Christensen's team again had line-up changes since MacKenzie Lank was no longer part of the USCA High Performance Program and Jenna Haag had graduated from juniors to women's. In 1877, after cracks appeared in the rock on which the Eddystone Lighthouse was positioned, a new lighthouse was commissioned from James Nicholas Douglass. Granite quarried from De Lank quarry was brought down to Wadebridge where stonemasons dovetailed each segment of stone not only to each other but also to the courses above and below. As each layer was completed and checked to fit with the layer above, it was sent out to the Eddystone rocks by sea. The lighthouse was completed in 1882.

Kantoff joined the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in a full-time position in genitourinary oncology in 1988. He held various roles at Dana-Farber, including director of the Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology, chief of the Division of Solid Tumor Oncology, and head of the Prostate Cancer Program. He was named the inaugural Nancy and Jerome Kohlberg Professor at Harvard Medical School in 2014. While at Dana- Farber, he also served as the lead investigator for Dendreon’s clinical trials for Sipuleucel-T, a therapeutic vaccine for prostate cancer approved in 2010.

Evans' early screen appearances were as Charley Smiler, a disaster-prone 'dude' character dressed in frock coat, waistcoat and spats. In 1912, Fred and Joe Evans began working at the Ec-Ko studios in Teddington, and set up their own production company, Folly Films. Unable to use the Charley Smiler character because of legal threats from Cricks and Martin, Evans devised a new character, Pimple, an accident-prone clown with a tight jacket, baggy pants, big boots, cricket cap, and lank strands of hair around a central parting. Iron Crag is separated from Caw Fell by an unnamed col at the watershed of Bleaberry Gill and Silvercove Beck. The Western slopes are separated by a much shallower col leading to Whoap. The gentler southern aspect, which is covered by rough grassland, covers a roughly triangular area, bordered on the South by Caw Fell and Bleaberry Gill, and on the West by Lank Rigg and Whoap. The Ennerdale Wall, running over the length of the ridge, marks a striking transition in vegetation, with the Northern slopes of Iron Cragg being mostly carpeted by heather.

Oh was born in South Korea and immigrated to the US as a child. He earned a B.S. from Yale University in 1987 and his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine in 1992. He completed an internship and a residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and a clinical fellowship at the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute. The "Comedy Condo", also known as "The 336", had housed San Francisco comedians since 1986. Located at 336 21st Avenue, the space was first rented by Dana Gould, writer on The Simpsons and Alex Reid the head writer of Malcolm in the Middle. Lizz Winstead, co-creator of The Daily Show, also lived in the house.

In 1945, DiPreta broke into the field of syndicated newspaper comic strip art as an assistant to cartoonist Frank E. "Lank" Leonard's popular strip about a suburban beat cop, Mickey Finn. DiPreta continued in that position, while concurrently drawing freelance for comic books, through 1955. In 1959, DiPreta succeeded creator Ham Fisher and first successor artist Moe Leff on the long-running boxing strip Joe Palooka. The next year Jamie aged out of juniors so became the teams coach for Junior Nationals, with Beck moving to third and Rebecca Dobie joining the team at second. The Johnson team defended their title, when the US Junior Nationals for a second year in a row. At the they again made it to the final, but settled for the silver medal when they lost to Canada's Marliese Miller. They also competed at the 2003 United States Women's Championship, Beck's first, making it to the semifinals before getting knocked out by Patti Lank, the defending champion.

The village got its name from Zain-Lank, a small island in the centre of Wular Lake built by the famous Kashmiri saint Zain-ul-Abedin. The village is divided into several mohallas like Khan Mohalla, Reshi Mohalla, Khar colony, Pomposh Colony, Bani Mahal, Heri Mahal etc. There is only one middle school in the whole village with a very low teacher to student ratio, lacking all the basic facilities and is currently in a very dilapidated condition. The hamlet of Wenfordbridge was the furthest outpost of the LSWR from London Waterloo. It opened on 30 September 1834 as part of the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway and after an unsuccessful proposal in the 1870s to extend the line to Delabole changed very little until closure in 1971. There were three sidings for loading and unloading goods, predominantly coal inwards and stone out from local quarries, basic manpower being supplemented in 1926 by the Southern Railway installing a five-ton capacity gantry crane spanning two of the sidings. A fourth siding continued on to the De Lank quarries.

The Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway (B&W;) opened in 1834 to carry sand brought up the River Camel for use as a soil improver. Extensions were added to Wenfordbridge and Ruthern Bridge to handle freight traffic later that year, particularly stone from the De Lank quarry and Tin from the Mulberry mine. In 1847 the London and South Western Railway bought the B&W;, and connections to the parent company came via the North Cornwall Line in 1895. Connection to the GWR at Bodmin Road was earlier, in 1888, and the line was finally extended to Padstow in 1899.

With a win over Sarah Anderson's team in the final, Christensen earned her second Junior Nationals title. At the 2014 World Junior Championship Christensen missed the payoffs, finishing in 6th place with a 5–4 record. After the 2013–14 season the USCA revamped their High Performance Program from team-based to individual-based; curlers would be invited into the program as individuals and then assigned teammates. Christensen was selected as the skip of the junior women's team, to play with Sarah Anderson at third, MacKenzie Lank at second, Jenna Haag at lead, and Sarah's twin sister Taylor Anderson as alternate.

Mary-Ellen Taplin (born 1960), is a research oncologist at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Harvard's Longwood Medical and Academic Area. Taplin is Institute Physician and Director of Clinical Research for the Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and at the Brigham and Women's Hospital’s Cancer Center. At the Harvard Medical School, also in the Longwood Medical Area, she is Professor of Medicine. She has been an investigator on many projects, including the Prostate Cancer Clinical Trial Consortium, Dana-Farber SPORE grant, Stand Up 2 Cancer, and several Prostate Cancer Foundation Challenge Grants.

Teams qualified for the women's nationals either by qualifying automatically as one of the top four teams on the World Curling Tour Order of Merit or by qualifying through the challenge round. The four teams that qualified automatically to the championships, an increase from last year's two teams qualified through the Order of Merit, were chosen based on the Order of Merit upon the conclusion of the Curl Mesabi Cash Spiel. This year, the teams are those skipped by Erika Brown, Rebecca Hamilton, Patti Lank, and Alexandra Carlson. The easiest ascent of Whoap is from the Coldfell road, at the point where it forms a right angle at the base of Blakeley Raise and Burn Edge. A track leads down into the Calder valley at which point it crosses Comb Beck and continues along the valley until a crossing of the Calder itself is reached. At this point, there are two options; either turn left and ascend Whoap directly, or continue along the valley to the unnamed col separating Whoap from Lank Rigg before turning left for the final ascent. The second route is less strenuous, although the ground can become quite boggy after rainfall.

Distributed by the McNaught Syndicate, cartoonist Lank Leonard's Mickey Finn debuted as a daily strip on Monday, April 6, 1936. The Sunday strip, which eventually focused on the supporting character of Uncle Phil, began on May 17 of that same year. Leonard was assisted by Tony DiPreta (from 1945–50) and by Mart Bailey from 1950 in New York. In 1952, Bailey moved to Miami to help Leonard with the strip until July 1959. The 2012 St. Paul Cash Spiel was held from October 12 to 14 at the St. Paul Curling Club in St. Paul, Minnesota as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a round robin format, and the purses for the men's and women's events were USD$16,000 and USD$7,200, respectively. In the men's final, John Shuster defeated Todd Birr with a score of 6–4 to win his second World Curling Tour title as skip, while Patti Lank defeated Margie Smith in the women's final with a score of 7–2 to claim her second consecutive title at the St. Paul Cash Spiel.

Gregory’s rest was to be brief, as Communist forces launched their war in Korea 24 June 1950 and the U.S. Navy joined United Nations forces; she recommissioned 27 April 1951, Comdr. H. C. Lank in command. Reaching Yokosuka, Japan, via Pearl Harbor and Midway 16 August 1951, Gregory immediately began patrol duty along the Korean coast. The fell is therefore the end of the westerly run of the ridge, and the watershed curves north around the head of Worm Gill, crossing the subsidiary top of Iron Crag on the transit to Crag Fell and Lank Rigg. The unnamed col connecting Caw Fell to Haycock is flat topped and carries the Ennerdale Fence, in this section a substantial dry stone wall. Tongue Gill, the principal headwater of the Bleng, flows from the southern side of the saddle while on the opposite side is the steep headwall of Silver Cove, a deeply enclosed side-valley running into Ennerdale. The heathery spur of Tongue End runs parallel to the east.

He was a supporter of tough sanctions against the city of Edinburgh after the Porteous Riots of 1736. The latter year he was sent on a special mission to Germany to escort Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha to Britain, where she was to become the wife of Frederick, Prince of Wales. Lord Hervey, who described De La Warr as a "long, lank, awkward person", thought that "no fitter selection could have been made to disarm the jealousy of the prince, and that a more unpolished ambassador for such an occasion could not have been found in any of the Goth or Vandal courts of Germany." Chicopee was laid down as Esso Trenton on 14 May 1941 under a Maritime Commission contract at Sun Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. of Chester, Pennsylvania; launched 6 September 1941; sponsored by Mrs. N. L. Lank; acquired by the Navy 3 January 1942, and commissioned on 9 February with Commander G. Bannerman in command. After a short period as station tanker at Casco Bay, Maine, Chicopee made several oil runs between ports on the Gulf of Mexico and the U.S. East Coast. She departed Norfolk 8 June 1942 for NS Argentia, Newfoundland, and served as station tanker there from 12 June until 8 July when she sailed to Reykjavík, Iceland, returning to Norfolk 25 July. From August to November 1942 Chicopee resumed coastwise fueling operations.

Newton police detective Rick Ballard tells Maura that he believes that a CEO of a pharmaceutical company is the murderer, due to the latter's obsessive lust over the deceased woman, Anna Leoni (on her driver's license, the name was recorded as Jessop). Maura's curiosity is aroused further when Rizzoli hands her DNA results showing that the deceased is her identical-twin sister. The trail then leads to Maine, where the remains of several murder victims (mostly pregnant women, but including some men) are found. A check of the FBI database over forty years reveals a possible pattern circumnavigating the US. Maura eventually finds that her mother, Amalathea Lank, has been jailed for two murders, one of a 9-months-pregnant woman.

At the end of one of the sidings at Wenfordbridge the line continued, curving sharply off to the right and crossing the public road without barrier or sign before continuing via a rope-worked incline of 1 in 8 over a hill and down to the De Lank Quarries of Thos W Ward half a mile distant. The incline itself was of three rails; the inner or centre rail being common to wagons both ascending and descending the incline. There was no engine working the incline which worked on the balance principle; horsepower was used for shunting until introduction of a Simplex shunter in the 1920s. The line was opened in the 1890s and closed around 1940 although the rails across the road remained until 1967 when the link to British Rail was removed.

The new Team Christensen won the 2014 Molson Cash Spiel, a WCT event, defeating Canadian Kendra Lilly in the final. They then won the 2015 Junior National Championship, defeating Madison Bear's team 10–6 in nine ends in the final. A month later Christensen made her first non-junior national appearance when her team competed at the 2015 United States Women's Championship. They finished the round-robin with a 8–1 record but lost in the 3 vs 4 page playoff game to Patti Lank, MacKenzie's mother and a five-time United States champion. At the 2015 World Juniors Christensen finished the round-robin with a 5–4 record, the same as in 2014, but this time it was good enough to tie Lisa Gisler's Switzerland team for the last playoffs berth.

Garrow Tor is a bare, tor-crowned hill, high, located on Garrow Downs in the northwest of Bodmin Moor in the county of Cornwall, England, UK.Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 Explorer map series, No. 109 At the summit of Garrow Tor are granite rock outcrops and panoramic views, including Caradon Hill to the south, Rough Tor and Brown Willy to the north, Butter's Tor to the east, clay country to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the northwest. Mickey Finn (1940), a Little Big Book from Saalfield Publishing. Lank Leonard's Mickey Finn strip was reprinted in color in the first American comic book series, Eastern Color Printing's Famous Funnies, starting with issue #28 (Nov. 1936). Famous Funnies also reprinted Leonard's Nippie: He's Often Wrong topper strip. Mickey Finn appeared in most issues through #35 (June 1937). The strip then appeared in every issue of Quality Comics' Feature Funnies (retitled Feature Comics with issue #21) from #1-113 (Oct. 1937 - Aug. 1947). Concurrently for a few months, Mickey Finn also ran in Columbia Comic Corporation's Big Shot #74–104 (Feb. 1947 - Aug. 1949). The strip was also reprinted in its own comic book series, Eastern Color's Mickey Finn #1-4 (no cover dates; 1942-1943), which continued as Columbia's Mickey Finn #5-15 (no cover dates; 1944–1949).

Wadebridge railway station was on the Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway, in Cornwall, England, UK. It opened in 1834 to transport goods between the market town of Wadebridge, the limit of navigation on the River Camel, and inland farming and mining areas. The railway was built to take stone from local quarries such as the De Lank Quarries on Bodmin Moor towards the coast, as well as sand dredged from the River Camel and landed at the quays in Wadebridge inland to be used to improve the heavy local soil. The station is situated just upstream of Wadebridge bridge and almost next to the tidal River Camel; a fact that prompted the former Poet Laureate John Betjeman to write in his autobiography "On Wadebridge station what a breath of sea scented the Camel Valley! Cornish air, soft Cornish rains, and silence after steam".

In total, about sixty animals are described in the book, about half of the amount featured in After Man, with examples including a widespread group of tree-climbing coelurosaurian theropods called "arbrosaurs", huge striding and terrestrial pterosaurs such as the giraffe- like "lank", colonial pachycephalosaurs, descendants of the Mesozoic hadrosaurs called "sprintosaurs" adapted to a new lifestyle on the grass- covered plains of North America, amphibious hypsilophodonts, flamingo-like coelurosaurs and iguanodonts capable of jumping like kangaroos. In the far north, large migratory birds such as the "tromble" with legs almost like tree trunks, roam the land. In terms of predators, the coelurosaurs dominate in terms of number and diversity, often having unique adaptations. For instance, the apex predator of the South American pampas, the coelurosaurian "cutlasstooth", has evolved huge, cutting teeth to allow it to prey upon large sauropods.

In this capacity, the "lank", a four-legged, terrestrial and grazing pterosaur derived from the Cretaceous family Azhdarchidae, has been seen by some writers as perhaps the worst offender. In a 1990 review of the book, researcher Gregory S. Paul called the creature "perhaps the worst beast in the book" and "unbelievable", pointing out that he thought it was infeasible that pterosaurs would evolve into giraffe-like animals before the more dominant and already terrestrial dinosaurs. In 1992, researcher David Unwin echoed the same sentiment, viewing four-legged and grass-eating pterosaurs as highly unlikely. In 2008, British paleontologist and science writer Darren Naish offered a more redeeming look at the animal, pointing out that if pterosaurs were to become terrestrial, azhdarchids were the most likely group to do so and that azhdarchids would have used a gait similar to that of giraffes when walking.

The novel is notable for its use of the extreme "invasionist" model of Indo-Aryan migration into India, but for portraying the Aryans in a negative manner characteristic of post-World War II anti-Nazi sentiment and Dravidianist ideology of the era. It turns out that the disruptions to the dig arose from an attempt by a group of Brahmins to conceal evidence of a terrible massacre committed by the Aryan invaders, who had built a monument to their victory and had thrown to their deaths thousands of Dravidian workers who had created it. The monument, dedicated to Indra, is eventually uncovered, containing a large wall-carving depicting the Aryans crushing their enemies, and emphasising the racial differences between the two groups. > The defeated masses were small and squat, their faces somewhat exaggeratedly > simian, sometimes beautiful, but always different, with their broad > cheekbones and square shapes, from the tall, straight-nosed, lank-haired > heroes who destroyed them and their works.

Persinger competed in eight United States Junior Championships, winning gold at her last appearance in 2013. As national champions they represented the United States at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Östersund, Sweden, where they finished in seventh place with a 4–5 record. Since ageing out of juniors, Persinger has medalled at every Women's National Championship she has competed in, six in a row as of 2020. At her first Women's Nationals in 2015 she played lead for skip Aileen Sormunen, they were the number one seed in the page playoffs but lost to Erika Brown in the 1 vs 2 game and to Patti Lank in the semifinals to finish with the bronze medal. In spite of their third place finish, Team Sormunen still earned the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2015 World Women's Championship because, of the top three teams at Nationals, they earned the most Order of Merit points throughout the season.

They do not perform much work, except to feed, play, and mate, and are characterized by apathy; and when Weena falls into a river, none of the other Eloi helps her (she is rescued instead by the Time Traveler). Periodically, the Morlocks capture individual Eloi for food; and because this typically happens on moonless nights, the Eloi are terrified of darkness. A portion of the book written for the New Review version, later published as a separate short story, reveals that a visit by the Time Traveller to the even more distant future results in his encountering rabbit- like hopping herbivores, apparently the descendants of the Eloi. They are described as being plantigrade, with longer hind legs and tailless, being covered with straight greyish hair that "thickened about the head into a Skye terrier's mane", having human-like hands (described as fore feet) and having a roundish head with a projecting forehead and forward-looking eyes that were obscured by lank hair.

In addition, there is an SSSI at Amble Marshes on the River Amble which flows into the Camel Estuary between Wadebridge and Rock. The River Camel was designated by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee as a Special Area of Conservation in April 2005 as being of European importance for the otter and the bullhead, and this was reviewed in 2015. However publically available information on the area is unclear as the DEFRA Joint Nature Conservation Committee website shows the area stretching from Pinkson Creek on the Camel estuary up to Polbrock bridge, but incorporating Pinkson Creek, the River Allen to just upstream of Sladesbridge, and the Polmorla Brook almost to the edge of the Wadebridge built-up area, and incorporating all of the intertidal zone. In contrast, both the Marine Conservation Institute and ProtectedPlanet show the area from Wadebridge bridge upstream, including the Ruthern, Allen, De Lank and Stannon, all being shown as covered to their respective sources.

According to its introduction, the Dāṭhavaṃsa is a translation of an earlier Sinhalese text that dates to when the relic first arrived in Sri Lank during the reign of Sirimeghavanna of Anuradhapura in the 3rd-4th Century CE. The Dāṭhavaṃsa provides a great deal of detail regarding conflicts between Buddhists and Brahmins in the 3rd Century which, if the putative origin of the Sinhala precursor are true, would have been derived from contemporary sources and witnesses. George Turnour claimed that this Sinhala text still existed in the 19th Century, which would have made it the earliest surviving Sinhala historical text, but it is currently considered to be lost. The first verse of the Dāṭhavaṃsa gives this original the title Dalada-vamsa, composed in Elu, and this may by synonymous with a work called the Datha-dhatu-vamsa in the Culavamsa that extended the story of the Tooth Relic into the 18th Century.

Jazz musicians Slim and Lank (James Stewart and Henry Fonda) mistake the word "baby" for "babe" and reminisce about a female trumpeter they met when their tour bus broke down in a rundown California seaside resort, where they tried to fix a talent contest so the mayor's son would win. Hollywood film star Gloria Manners (Dorothy Lamour) recalls the time she was hired to work with precocious child star Peggy Thorndyke (Eileen Janssen), who unintentionally triggered her big break in the movies, transforming her from a drab Iowa secretary into a Polynesian goddess. In a story similar to the O. Henry short story "The Ransom of Red Chief", successful stage magician Al (Fred MacMurray) relates how he and his buddy Floyd (William Demarest) once were con artists who stumbled upon young runaway and practical joker Edgar Hobbs in the woods. Upon learning he lived with his wealthy banker uncle, they conspired to return the boy and claim a reward, only to discover his uncle did not want him back.

The Fred Waring Collection has more than 600 cartoon originals, including over 50 of the laminated table tops.
