TOSThreads are unmaintained and have been deprecated. TinyOS code is statically linked with program code and is compiled into a small binary, using a custom GNU toolchain. Associated utilities are provided to complete a development platform for working with TinyOS.
A one-mile (1.6 km) segment of the original road, traveling from the village of Walpack Center in Walpack Township, New Jersey to the terminus of the route at the Delaware River within the bounds of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is maintained by the National Park Service in its original condition. Several shorter segments are unmaintained, and often parallel the modern roadways which evolved from the route.
The road's original alignment is today known as University Avenue in Charlottetown. North-west of the city, the road is in use as Route 2 (Malpeque Road) as far as Hazel Brook. From there the road is known as Hazel Brook Road, a dirt road, and Mill Road, an unmaintained dirt roadway. At Warburton Road, Mill Road becomes Old Princetown Road, which continues to Route 231 (Millvale Road).
A wilderness hut need not be reserved beforehand, and they are open for everyone tracking by foot, ski or similar means. Commercial stays overnight are prohibited in the wilderness huts owned by Metsähallitus. Unofficial and unmaintained huts also exist. For centuries the vast wildernesses of Finland and its resources were divided amongst the Finnish agricultural societies (such as families, villages, parishes, and provinces) for the purpose of collecting resources.
BitMidi was built in response to the lack of MIDI websites that supported in- browser MIDI file playback using a real MIDI synthesizer. According to the author, the existing MIDI sites were unmaintained or broken in various ways.JS Party – Episode #47 – The nitty gritty on BitMidiAnnouncing BitMidi. The site was initially curated from a zip file found on Reddit with a web frontend, search function, and "Random MIDI" button.
The southern abutment has extensive wingwalls, giving that structure a total width of about . The road which the bridge carries was probably laid out in 1808, during the early period of Industry's settlement. John Thompson had a house and established a grist mill nearby in 1805. The area had been abandoned by the late 19th century, and the roadway south of the bridge is unmaintained and in deteriorated condition.
As such, Araby to Dome highway reverted to a county road. The road between Ehrenberg and Quartzsite, also previously served by unmaintained wagon roads, became a graded dirt county road by 1925. On September 9, 1927, this county road became part of the newly designated Arizona State Route 74 (SR 74). On June 8, 1931, SR 74 was replaced by US 60, when the latter highway was extended through Arizona to Los Angeles, California.
Plants on the mountain include red and sugar maple and poison ivy (animikiibag—"thunder- leaf" in the Ojibwe language). The top of the mountain has glacial erratics and jack pines. A small grove of yellow birch grows just south of the entrance gate. A small, unmaintained trail can be used to reach the top from the lookout via the north face, with a heavy gauge steel cable that can be used for support.
The bridge remained in service to motor traffic until 1958, when it was once again replaced by a concrete bridge. During that time, a logging truck being used to haul timbers from the construction site accidentally crashed into the bottom of the covered bridge. As a result, the Alamuchee-Bellamy Covered Bridge was permanently closed and left unmaintained. In 1971, the Sumter County Historical Society came to the rescue and fully restored the damaged bridge.
Although, problem lies in unsatisfactory infrastructure like unmaintained roads, unavailability of parks, no sports area, no Government Hospital in nearby areas. Hastsal ki Laat is situated at corner of Hastsal village near Nangloi Jat, popularly known as the Laat, the 75-feet high minar (tower) was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 1650 and served as his hunting lodge. It resembles the Qutub Minar in design and is also made with red sandstone.
Over the following century the neglect continued until some basic external renovation work was undertaken between 1965 and 1971, making the structure wind and water tight, although it remained unoccupied. The castle was again abandoned and left unmaintained. The condition of the building further declined, becoming derelict. It was in a ruinous state when marketed for sale in April 2013 after the death of Count Robin Mirrlees, who had owned it for about fifty years.
The snowmobile trails in the park are part of a 684.14km-network of trails maintained by the Hudson Bay Trail Riders. In addition to the groomed trails, there are also many kilometres of unmaintained trails. Moose, white-tailed deer, wolves, american black bear, coyotes and cougar are commonly found inside the park. In addition to hunting, fishing can be done in the park at Bankside Lake, Firhead Lake, the Fir River and the Pasquia River.
It also includes interactive and automatic policy generation features, to assist in the creation of a base policy for an application. Systrace used to be integrated into OpenBSD, but was removed in April 2016 (in favour of pledge post OpenBSD 5.9). It is available for Linux and Mac OS X, although the OS X port is currently unmaintained. It was removed from NetBSD at the end of 2007 due to several unfixed implementation issues.
In addition to hundreds of miles of maintained trails, the area features a number of unmaintained trails, particularly to the summits of high peaks. Hikers may also scramble up the many landslides in the area. Several maintained trails connect with the Adirondack Mountain Reserve and Dix Mountain Wilderness Area, offering opportunities for extended backcountry outings. The Northville-Placid Trail crosses the High Peaks Wilderness Area from its southeastern corner at Long Lake to Lake Placid.
This will make additional installed services start faster, because they are not included in the default readahead list. In Linux distributions that use systemd, readahead binary (as part of the boot sequence) was replaced by systemd-readahead. However, support for readahead was removed from systemd in its version 217, being described as unmaintained and unable to provide expected performance benefits. Certain experimental page-level prefetching systems have been developed to further improve performance.
The Johnston Atoll runway was used for emergency landings for both civil and military aircraft on many occasions. After it was decommissioned, it could no longer be considered as a possible emergency landing place when planning flight routes across the Pacific Ocean. As of 2003, the airfield consisted of a closed, unmaintained, single asphalt/concrete runway 05/23, with a parallel taxiway, and a large paved ramp along its south-east side.
The tunnel continues to suffer from water ingress, and apart from the air shafts remains unmaintained and uninspected, despite passing beneath public land including housing. The lining is distorted in places, and there are known to be issues with CO2 levels in parts of the tunnel. Apart from the continued inspection of the two air shafts by the DfT, there appears to be no long-term future strategy for the tunnel, despite the liability posed.
Soon after, the trail crests over Bald Hill at 893 feet, the highest point on the Shenipsit Trail within the Meshomasic State Forest. The trail follows some unmaintained dirt roads and a few single-track trails until reaching Connecticut Route 2 in Glastonbury. Hikers should take caution crossing the four-lane freeway and are recommended to take a connector trail to Dickinson Rd, then Mott Hill Rd, then Toll Gate Rd to go around Route 2.
Aubrey Fitch was decommissioned on 12 December 1997 and towed to the former Philadelphia Naval Yard as part of the inactive reserve fleet. She had the shortest active career of any of the US Navy's Oliver Hazard Perry-class ships at 15 years, and was stricken on 3 May 1999, just two years later into unmaintained (Category-X) status to await scrap sale. Aubrey Fitch was transferred to Metro Machine Corp. for scrapping, on 26 March 2004.
He is credited with building the oldest portion of the farmhouse, on the site of the original log house. Lawrence Road, now fractured by unmaintained stream crossings, ran from the house to a mill Wheeler also owned. The Wheeler property was purchased in 1845 by George Lawrence. Lawrence expanded the landholdings of the farm, and also expanded the house, adding an ell to make room for his family, as well as his widowed mother and spinster sister.
Her final voyage was to Singapore arriving there in May, and returning in July 1946. In the summer of 1946 she was placed in unmaintained reserve until 1948. With the post-war economic difficulties of Britain hitting hard in 1947–1948 the reserve fleet was quickly sold off, and Suffolk was decommissioned and allocated to BISCO on 25 March 1948. She was towed to J Cashmore's (Newport, Wales) where she arrived on 24 June 1948 and scrapping began immediately.
In 1834, the Sherman and Redding Turnpike was incorporated to improve and maintain a road from Redding center, through Danbury, to the town of Sherman. The turnpike began at the junction of Newtown Turnpike and Sherman Turnpike in Redding and ran through Redding center. It continued north along Lonetown Road into Bethel and beyond. By 1846, however, there was a report to the Connecticut Legislature that the turnpike had been mostly unmaintained for the past six years.
The Linux framebuffer (fbdev) is a graphic hardware-independent abstraction layer, which was originally implemented to allow the Linux kernel to emulate a text console on systems such as the Apple Macintosh that do not have a text-mode display. Now it offers a kernel space text mode emulation on any platform. Its advantage over (currently unmaintained) SVGATextMode is a reliance and better hardware compatibility. It also permits to overpass all technical restrictions of VGA text modes.
In 2008, the road was granted Federal Road status, and is now a frequently maintained all-weather gravel road. When the road was upgraded, the route was changed to bypass the section from Kyubeme to Kadykchan via Tomtor, and instead pass from Kyubeme to Kadykchan via a more northern route through the town of Ust-Nera. The old 420 km section via Tomtor was largely unmaintained; the 200 km section between Tomtor and Kadykchan was completely abandoned.Colebatch, Walter.
In 1989, the Franz Weber Foundation purchased Bonrook Station, a former cattle station near Pine Creek, Northern Territory, which it has since developed into a sanctuary for brumbies and native wild life. Backpackers worked on the sanctuary improving the grounds for food and board. The grounds have now sadly been unmaintained for quite a few years as funding was cut and now is kept in order by only a couple workers. Tours and dinners are no longer held there.
Many of these lots were sold for $69.50 by the San Francisco Bulletin as a subscription promotion. Portions of the mesa, including sections of Ocean Parkway, have since eroded into the sea. A few streets on the mesa are paved and maintained by the county, but many are unpaved, and either maintained by adjoining property owners or completely unmaintained."A Plan for the Bolinas Gridded Mesa", Bolinas Planning Council and The Marin County Planning Department, 1984.
The top of the mountain has glacial erratics and jack pines. A small grove of yellow birch grows just south of the entrance gate. A small, unmaintained trail can be used to reach the top from the lookout via the north face, with a heavy gauge steel cable that can be used for support. However, due to the grade and geology (mostly shale) of the face, this unsanctioned hike is considered dangerous, and is not recommended for novice hikers.
Artificially or culturally conceived meadows emerge from and continually require human intervention to persist and flourish. In many places, the natural, pristine populations of free-roaming large grazers are either extinct or very limited due to human activities. This reduces or removes their natural influence on the surrounding ecology and results in meadows only being created or maintained by human intervention.Natural grazing Foundation for Restoring European Ecosystems Existing meadows could potentially and gradually decline, if unmaintained by agricultural practices.
A trail system, maintained by the National Park Service, ascends Maryland Heights and tours the Civil War-era fortifications and provides access to the cliffs on the mountain which contain views of Harpers Ferry and the Potomac Water Gap. An unmaintained trail leads along the ridge of Park Service land onto private property to Buggy Rocks and views east of Pleasant Valley. Mountain climbing is permitted by the National Park Service along the Maryland Heights cliffs.
On 19 August 2020, it was announced that Serghei, the core contributor on the Zephir language was stepping down from the project, thus leaving the language in an unmaintained state. The Phalcon Team decided to abandoned the language and port the framework over to a native PHP application for Version 5. Version 5 will be the first version of Phalcon to support PHP 8. A Phalcon Hangout on 6 September 2020 announced that work has started on Phalcon 5.
The commanders had belts with golden or silver buckles which corresponded to their rank and title. The army had iron discipline, with the officers vigorously checking if everything was ready before a battle. For a horse that was undernourished or not properly taken care of, the punishment was death. The soldiers were under threat of a death penalty when having a loose bow-string or an unmaintained sword; or even if riding a war horse in peacetime.
Ficlets is a non-commercial AOL community website dedicated to publishing and archiving ficlets, which are similar to flash fiction. It was founded on 31 October 2006 by Kevin Lawver, though it did not become fully operational until early to mid-March 2007. On 6 June 2008, Lawver severed his employment from AOL and, in turn, departed as system administrator for Ficlets. No new administrator was announced to replace Lawver, leaving the respective duties for the site unmaintained.
On a clear day, the length of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont are visible to the east, and many of the High Peaks can be seen to the south through the northwest. There is a disused fire tower on the top. Cascade (on horizon, center) There are three trails to the summit, from the north (unmaintained), south and east. Atop the mountain is the Hurricane Mountain Fire Observation Station, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
Past the I-215/SR 60/SR 91 junction, the Riverside Freeway continues as I-215. A weigh station is available between the Imperial Highway and Yorba Linda Boulevard/Weir Canyon Road exits. In 2003, Caltrans permanently closed off the Coal Canyon Road westbound and eastbound exits and entrances for environmental purposes; however, there are still traces of unmaintained road where the former exit lay, showing evidence that the ramps still exist, available to use as runaway ramps or emergency stops.
On 27 March 1981, Bulwark returned to Portsmouth for the final time in her career. She was decommissioned into unmaintained reserve without any repairs being attempted to the damaged boiler or other fire damage. The carrier would however, remain intact for the next two years. During the early stages of the Falklands War it was announced that Bulwark would be reactivated and sent south to support the fleet, and then remain as a headquarters hulk at Port Stanley following the war.
Due to its unmaintained condition in communist Czechoslovakia, with water freezing in cracks breaking it up, the watchtower collapsed May 2, 1959 shortly before it was supposed to get fixed. The Petrovy kameny (Peter’s stones) is a gneiss stone formation in the Hrubý Jeseník mountain range of the Czech Republic, near the peak. In the Middle Ages, people feared the place, believing witches lived there. The area is home to many rare plants, so it is not open to the public.
JoCaml is an experimental functional programming language derived from OCaml. It integrates the primitives of the join-calculus to enable flexible, type- checked concurrent and distributed programming. The current version of JoCaml is a re-implementation of the now unmaintained JoCaml made by Fabrice Le Fessant, featuring a modified syntax and improved OCaml compatibility compared to the original. JoCaml was used by team Camls 'R Us to implement a distributed ray tracer, earning 2nd place on the ICFP 2000 programming contest.
Hiking is the most popular activity, both day hikes and backpacking, with fishing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing making up the remainder. Dramatic views from the crest include Mount Shasta in the west, Modoc Plateau to the north, Surprise Valley in the Great Basin in the east and in the south, the Sierra Nevada range. There are of trails within the wilderness area, plus unmaintained pathways adding another . There are eight trailheads surrounding the wilderness and five campgrounds.
The project was suspended in 1809. Construction resumed in 1837, under Louis- Philippe, following renewed tensions with the United Kingdom. The fortifications were completed in 1857, with sufficient room for a garrison of 250 men; however, by this time the range of cannons had significantly increased, covering the hitherto unprotected gap and making the fort unnecessary. After 1871, Fort Boyard was briefly used as a military prison, and abandoned in 1913, after which the unmaintained fort slowly deteriorated and crumbled into the sea.
After the lake, is a 1.8 mile hike to the falls on an unmaintained trail that is difficult to follow. The other way in, coming from Piseco, is bushwhacking off the Mill Stream trail starting on Haskell’s Road. This way in is considered easier because the trail is flatter, if one has the skills of bushwhacking, from Mill Stream to the state trail. The third way in is off Mountain Home Road, which brings one to the bottom of the falls.
Qcodo is an open-source PHP web application framework which builds an object- relational model (ORM), CRUD (create, retrieve, update, delete) UI pages, and AJAX hooks from an existing data model. It additionally includes a tightly integrated HTML and JavaScript form toolkit which interfaces directly with the generated entities. It is a robust, comprehensive framework which can be utilized by small and large Web applications alike. The project is unmaintained as of 2015 and has not been updated since 2011.
The New Hance Trail (a.k.a. Red Canyon Trail) is a hiking trail on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, located in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is one of the "unmaintained" trails and, along with the similar Tanner Trail, is considered one of the most difficult trails on the South Rim. Unlike the Tanner Trail, there is no parking available at the trailhead, which is located about a 5-minute walk north of the South Rim main road.
CRFS (Coherent Remote File System) is a network file system protocol by Zach Brown formerly of Oracle intended to leverage the Btrfs architecture to gain higher performance than existing protocols (such as NFS and SMB) and to expose Btrfs features such as snapshots to remote clients. The code is unmaintained. If one is looking for a network file system on top of Btrfs, there are a number of options available, which are under active support and development, including Ceph, BeeGFS, GlusterFS, and Samba.
Due to license issues, the project decided later to make and use its own font. At the end of 2006, a new developer, Olivier Berten, joined the project and created its OpusTeX component. OpusTeX was a LaTeX package with a similar goal like Gregorio but is now unmaintained and deprecated. During a three-month internship, starting in April 2008, at the Monastero di San Benedetto, in Norcia (Italy), Gregorio made considerable progress and its own output named GregorioTeX started to be usable.
Its original two fireplaces had been replaced by a single one. The property includes an unmaintained orchard with trees estimated to be over 150 years old, and the Osborn family cemetery, located near West Street. The house was probably built not long after Benjamin Osborn bought a large tract of land here in 1759. Shaker founder Mother Ann Lee stayed at the farmhouse during her May 1781 missionary journey to Tucconack Mountain (renamed Mount Washington, following the American victory in the American Revolutionary War).
As at 6 December 2012, the Keyline system has not been actively maintained or operated on Yobarnie since 1964. A recent geotechnical assessment indicates that some maintenance would be required to bring the dams up to contemporary standards. The contours and dams of the original Keyline system are readily apparent to anyone acquainted with the system, despite their neglected and overgrown condition. Of the original 12 dams, 10 remain as built, although neglected and unmaintained, damage to dam walls by cattle appears negligible and easily repaired.
A visitor center is at the start of the loop road. The loop road is also popular for bicycle touring; it begins with a moderate climb, then is mostly downhill or flat. The Rocky Gap Road in Red Rock Canyon NCA is a side-canyon accessible only by an unmaintained primitive road from the scenic loop which mostly only off-road or high clearance vehicles can access. State Route 159 cuts through an the Cottonwood Valley, also a sidevtrail of the Old Spanish trail.
Highway 125 is long and travels from Highway 105 in Red Lake to the ferry docks in the Cochenour/McKenzie Island area. Beyond Cochenour and Balmertown, unmaintained forestry roads travel northwards to Pikangikum, and link to winter/ice roads that service communities even further north. The only provincially maintained highway that travels further north is secondary Highway 599 to Pickle Lake. Despite connecting two nearby communities, the majority of the route is rural in nature; only the final kilometre is within a built-up area.
It is accessible by several unmaintained dirt roads, with the main entrance being Backus Creek Road off M-18 (North Roscommon Road). Interstate 75 (I-75) forms the northeastern boundary of the state game area. M-55 and M-157 are to the south but not within the area's boundaries. The state game area's headquarters are located at the Roscommon DNR Service Center and Wildlife Office at 8717 North Roscommon Road to the north at exit 239 off I-75 (M-18 and BL I-75).
KOffice is an unmaintained free and open source office suite and graphics suite by KDE for Unix-like systems and Windows. KOffice contains a word processor (KWord), a spreadsheet (KSpread), a presentation program (KPresenter), and a number of other components that varied over the course of KOffice's development. After development began in 1997, two major versions of KOffice were released: Version 1.0 in 2000 and 2.0 in 2009. Following internal conflicts, the majority of KOffice developers split off in 2010 – resulting in the creation of Calligra Suite.
The highest peak is the Old Goat Mountain (3109 m), located near the southern end of the range. A small glacier, the Old Goat Glacier, lies in a narrow cirque below the steep north-east face of the summit at an altitude of only 2300-2500 m. From the Spray Lakes West Campground, an unmaintained trail leads up for 4 km, ascending 200 m towards the glacier. The Gem Trek map suggests that from the end of the trail, the cirque can be reached without a path.
About farther is Fox camp, where the small Ventana Creek enters the Little Sur River. From Fox Camp, there is a difficult, unmaintained and little-used use trail up Ventana Creek and overland to the Ventana Window. From the base of The Window, skilled climbers can scale the very steep Class 4 eastern face of the Window. From the eastern top of the Window, it may be possible to hike cross-country to the Ventana Doublecone, though the trail is usually quite difficult due to the extremely dense chaparral.
The report stated that leaving the defences unmaintained would increase the risk of a severe flood to the low-lying residential area of Kewstoke and an extensive area of agricultural land that are currently defended. The authors went on to discuss the importance in the shorter and longer term of ensuring that the current defence line is kept and said that monitoring and research of the coastal processes on the foreshore is recommended. The Sand Bay Management Committee is keeping a close eye on the conditions of both the salt marsh and the sand dunes.
Psyco was a specializing just-in-time compiler for Python originally developed by Armin Rigo and further maintained and developed by Christian Tismer. Development ceased in December, 2011. Psyco ran on BSD-derived operating systems, Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows using 32-bit Intel-compatible processors. Psyco was written in C and generated only 32-bit x86-based code. Although Tismer announced in that work was being done on a second version of Psyco, a further announcement declared the project “unmaintained and dead” in and pointed visitors to PyPy instead.
The size of the salt pond assigned to a family depends on the family's size. Usually there are many unused salt pools available to be farmed. Any prospective salt farmer need only locate an empty currently unmaintained pond, consult with the local informal cooperative, learn how to keep a pond properly within the accepted communal system, and start working. As of September 2019, MaraSal S.A., the company that owns the salt pans, announced that tourists are no longer allowed to walk around the salt ponds due to contamination.
Thomson Demo mp3PRO Player/Encoder is an unmaintained proprietary freeware media software program originally released by Thomson (now Technicolor SA) and Coding Technologies (acquired by Dolby Laboratories in 2007) which converts Waveform Audio File Format (WAV) files to mp3PRO. The official website claims that nearly 50% more music, compared to standard MP3, can be held by a storage device whether CD, hard drive, or flash drive. The quality of 64 kbit/s mp3PRO technology is stated to be in the range between 96 and 128 kbit/s MP3.Mp3PRO ZONE, Players and demo player basics.
Surfing at Pacific Beach Surfing in Pacific Beach In addition to bordering the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay Park, Pacific Beach includes Kate Sessions Park and the Pacific Beach Recreation Center. Kate Sessions Park has a playground, large lawn with ocean views, and a many acre unmaintained area used for hiking and mountain biking. Fanuel Street Park is a popular bay-front park with playground equipment suitable for toddler and school-age children. Rose Creek, which flows through Pacific Beach before emptying into Mission Bay, provides open space and a rich wetland area.
It proceeds north from there. When it reaches Glover, it is first called the Skunk Hollow Road, then Hinman Road, followed by Perron Hill Road and Young Road, and finally there is a long discontinued and unmaintained section through the old Parker Settlement and private property until it rejoins the town road system at Roaring Brook Road which runs on toward Barton Village. North of that village it follows the Maple Hill Road north, running through what is now the Orleans Country Club to Brownington. It continues north through Derby to the Canada–US border.
A largely unmaintained field for the first century of its existence, the area that would become Good Time Park was originally called Fiddler's Green. At the beginning of the 19th century, it was a common meeting place for local races, training, and breeding. Use died out around 1820, and it was largely forgotten until 1899, when it was refurbished to be used to train trotters. Sports promoter and horse owner William H. Cane bought the land in 1926, named the new track Good Time Park, and began to hold races there.
Sugarland Mountain, looking northwest from the summit of Chimney Tops. A common route to closely see the peaks is the Chimney Tops Trail, which can be accessed about 6.9 miles south/east of the Sugarlands Visitor Center on Newfound Gap Road. Before the summit part of the trail was closed, the trail ended at the foot of the south capstone (the higher of the two), but various unmaintained spurs crossed over to the lower summit. Another route is to follow the Appalachian Trail west from Newfound Gap to the Road Prong Trail.
Today, the ruins include both the tower house with its arrow slits (or "loops") and the four walls of the adjoining manor house with their mullioned and transomed windows. The latter features a Trompe-l'œil effect, as the windows of the upper floors are smaller, creating an illusion of greater height. Some of the remains of the outbuildings and the walled gardens/deer park can still be seen. Unlike many of the castles in Ireland, Leamaneh is unmaintained and due to its poor state of repair not accessible.
The 2009 City of Windsor inside and outside workers strike was a stop-work action undertaken by the Canadian Union of Public Employees' local unions in the city of Windsor, Ontario held from April 15, 2009 to July 24, 2009. The over-15-week-long strike was the result of a proposal by the city to not offer post-retirement benefits for new employees of the city. The strike impacted various city services, including most prominently garbage pickup and parks and recreation, leading to illegal dumping of trash and unmaintained grass.
219x219px The preserve is open to fishing, walking, picnicking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting (in season), cross country skiing, and hiking. A trailhead is located off Massachusetts Route 32 just short of the New Hampshire border. A second trailhead is located off the unmaintained Falls Road in Royalston. Royalston Falls are part of a larger contiguous area of protected open space, connected by the Tully Trail and including the United States Army Corps of Engineers' Tully Lake flood control project, The Trustees of Reservations' Jacobs Hill and Doane's Falls properties, and Massachusetts state forest land.
The "scary part" of the Nankoweap Trail The Nankoweap Trail is an unmaintained hiking trail on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, located in the U.S. state of Arizona. The Nankoweap trail descends 6,040 feet in 14 miles from the Saddle Mountain trailhead to Nankoweap Creek and on to the Colorado River. It is considered to be the hardest of the trails into the Canyon. Hikers have to carry and cache water as there is none in the 11 miles between the trailhead and Nankoweap Creek.
Ridgeways are a particular type of ancient road that exploits the hard surface of hilltop ridges for use as unpaved, zero-maintenance roads, though they often have the disadvantage of steeper gradients along their courses, and sometimes quite narrow widths. Before the advent of turnpikes or toll roads, ridgeway trails continued to provide the firmest and safest cart tracks. They are generally an opposite to level, valley-bottom, paved roads, which require engineering work to shore up and maintain. Unmaintained valley routes may require greater travelling distances than ridgeways.
The north rim is also accessible by automobile and has a small, primitive campground. Automobiles can access the river via the East Portal Road at the south rim; this road has a 16% grade and is prohibited to vehicles over in length. Gunnison Point Trail, South Rim The river can also be accessed by steep, unmaintained trails called "routes" or "draws" on the north and south rim. These routes require about two hours to hike down and two to four hours to hike back up, depending on which route is taken.
The Matilija Trail follows the stream bed of Matilija Creek into the wilderness; however, the more remote sections of the trail are unmaintained and have been washed out in places. Matilija Falls, a multi-tiered waterfall known for its swimming holes, is located deep in the wilderness at the end of a difficult roundtrip hike. USGS topographic maps show at least five waterfalls in the wilderness along Matilija Creek and its tributaries, although not all of them are accessible by trails. The North Fork Matilija Trail follows the Upper North Fork of Matilija Creek.
Just past Campsite 19, the Meigs Mountain Trail gradually descends to Upper Buckhorn Gap, where an unmaintained spur branches off from the Meigs Mountain Trail and winds its way southward along the mountain's remote eastern slope. The Meigs Mountain Trail, however, veers northwest and descends to Buckhorn Gap, where it terminates at a trailfork. From the trailfork, the Lumber Ridge Trail continues westward for another to the Great Smokies Institute at Tremont, and the Meigs Creek Trail continues northward for to the "Sinks" area of the Little River Gorge.
Tick bites may be prevented by avoiding or reducing time in likely tick habitats and taking precautions while in and when getting out of one. Most Lyme human infections are caused by Ixodes nymph bites between April and September. Ticks prefer moist, shaded locations in woodlands, shrubs, tall grasses and leaf litter or wood piles. Tick densities tend to be highest in woodlands, followed by unmaintained edges between woods and lawns (about half as high), ornamental plants and perennial groundcover (about a quarter), and lawns (about 30 times less).
Screenshot showing character selection screen (2018). TuxKart - Tux Tollway, from version 0.4 SuperTuxKart 0.7, the first version to use the Irrlicht Engine SuperTuxKart is based on TuxKart, a project initiated by Steve Baker in April 2000. Due to TuxKart project internal disagreements the development stalled and collapsed ultimately, and the project was abandoned in March 2004. The project was forked as SuperTuxKart, but remained in an unplayable and unmaintained state. In 2006 Joerg "Hiker" Henrichs resurrected the project and, with the help of Eduardo "Coz" Hernandez Munoz, released the game in a playable state.
The Arboretum de l'Abiétinée (1.5 hectares) is an arboretum located between Rue Pasteur and the Grand Allée in Malzéville, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. The garden is strongly linked to the history of French Art Nouveau but currently unmaintained. The private arboretum was created in 1902 by Eugène Schott, mayor of Malzéville and also vice president of the Société centrale d'horticulture de Nancy. Emile Gallé, a major force in the French Art Nouveau movement, concurrently served as the society's president, and the nearby Cure d'Air Trianon was, like the arboretum, designed in the Art Nouveau style.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission site, part of the Churkin Naval Cemetery (known in Russian as the "Morskoe" or Maritime Cemetery on the Churkin Peninsula in Vladivostok), contains the graves of 14 Canadians alongside British, French, Czechoslovak and Japanese troops who died during the Siberian Intervention and a monument to Allied soldiers buried in various locations in Siberia. The same section contains a memorial to the ten British and three Canadian soldiers whose graves are found in other parts of Siberia. The Australian Honorary Consul at that time is also interred there. During the Soviet period, this site was largely unmaintained.
In 2014, County Executive Bellone announced that improving the region's water quality would be his administration's top priority, and launched the "Reclaim Our Water " initiative – a comprehensive plan to improve Suffolk County's water quality and eradicate nitrogen pollution.McLogan, Jennifer. "Bellone: Long Island’s Water Quality Is No. 1 Priority Of My Administration", Babylon Beacon, New York, January 23, 2014. Failing and unmaintained septic systems and cesspools have created an excess amount of nitrogen pollution in the region's water supply, becoming a serious threat to Long Island's water quality, wildlife, quality of life; and has already decimated the once iconic shellfish industry.
The 400m speed skating track was just to the south of the open side of the arena. This side of the arena also faced the 70m and 90m ski jumps and the slopes of Squaw Valley now known as the Red Dog. Following the Olympic Games, the wood constructed ski jump facilities were left unmaintained and slowly deteriorated over time. In 1963 the 400m speed skating track was replaced by a parking lot in spite of protests from California speed skaters; since at the time it was known to be the only mechanically frozen 400m track in the country.
The Caldwell Trail is no longer listed in the Forest Service database, however there are many unmaintained trails leading to the ridgeline. Boundary of the Johns Creek Mountain wildarea as identified by the Wilderness SocietyThe boundary of the wildland, as determined by the Wilderness Society, is shown in the adjacent map. Roads in the area can be found on National Geographic Map 788 (Covington, Alleghany Highlands). A great variety of information, including topographic maps, aerial views, satellite data and weather information, is obtained by selecting the link with the wild land's coordinates in the upper right of this page.
Ill and wounded Palestinians who require acute medical care are placed at risk by Israeli restrictions on movement. The residents of villages and outlying regions require permits to travel to hospitals located in central regions. Obtaining the permits is difficult, requiring medical documents testifying to the illness as well as confirmation that the hospital is the only facility where the treatment is available and the time and date of the appointment. According to B'Tselem, even if they have a valid permit, sick Palestinians must travel on long, winding, unmaintained roads and are often delayed for long periods at checkpoints.
"Robbins Pond, East Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Taunton River Watershed". www.mass.gov Located above Robbins Pond is Stump Brook, which drains through Halifax from Monponsett Pond, a 528 acre pond to form Robbins Pond which turns into the Satucket River at its outlet. The Satucket River is a very winding river, it never freezes in the winter and is unmaintained which results in many fallen trees, which clog the river and make it hard for the river to be a means of travel. It’s undammed now but had one working dam in the past, provided by the Murray Carver Mill.
The Hinesburg Town Forest is located on its eastern border with neighboring Huntington, in the foothills of the Green Mountains which rise to the east. It consists of two parcels of land, which meet at a corner through which Hayden Hill Road passes. The road runs along the northern border of the larger southern parcel, with an unmaintained portion of roadway joining two maintained sections. Public parking lots are found at the ends of the two maintained sections of Hayden Hill Road, as well as in the main parcel's southeast corner where Economou Road provides access from Huntington.
The last Fiji-class cruisers were seriously deteriorating due to being in an unmaintained extended reserve status many years. Gambia was considered as an alternative for use as the London museum ship, as the ship's condition was more original than Belfast, but Gambia was sold for scrap in 1968, because the state of the ship made it more expensive to preserve than Belfast. None of them were the last cruisers of the Royal Navy however. That honour went to , a modified , which was decommissioned in 1980: the last classic Second World War cruiser design to serve in the Royal Navy.
Dairy farming had the most potential, but without a railroad in reach farmers could not get their products, even butter and cheese, to larger markets. With that loss of population, the infrastructure along the West Kill was also neglected. Old millraces and dams were no longer recorded on maps, and the road up the valley went unmaintained past the Hunter town line since fewer people lived that far up the valley. Another road that had once provided an outlet for the valley other than through West Kill, to Peck Hollow past North Dome, also fell into disrepair.
Firing commenced on 15 August and lasted two hours, as the 25th shot fired struck a magazine, destroying the fort in the ensuing explosion. The Germans carried Leman, unconscious, out of Loncin, and the last two forts, Hollogne and Flémalle, capitulated on 16 August. With Liège captured, the 1st Army continued northwest while the 2nd and 3rd Armies marched to Namur, whose forts were undermanned, unmaintained, and poorly stocked with ammunition. The 2nd Army arrived on 20 August 1914 to open the Siege of Namur, but began their main attacks the following day with 400 pieces of artillery.
This is the remnant of a vehicle access-way which was constructed during the course of a ski-lift and amusement park project that the State of Alabama permitted a private consortium of Fort Payne businessmen to construct in the late 1960s. The project was abandoned after a couple of years, though visitors may still see associated debris in Pine Tree Hole, in the bottom of the canyon. An unmaintained but fairly well-defined trail proceeds approximately eight miles to the canyon mouth. Heading upstream is much more problematic and should only be undertaken by hikers accustomed to bushwhacking.
The Sierra Madre Occidental range cuts a north–south swath through northern Mexico, splitting the state of Durango into eastern and western parts. In extreme southwestern Durango, several hundred kilometers south of the land of the Northern Tepehuan of Chihuahua and across this mountainous rupture live the Southern Tepehuan. The sublime variance of the peaks and canyons rent from the earth by two rivers, the Mezquital and the Huazamota, and their tributaries, renders the discordant beauty of some of the roughest and most wondrous land in Mexico. This terrain makes communication possible only by unmaintained dirt roads and trails.
Many undervotes were caused by voter error, unmaintained punch card voting booths, or errors having to do merely with the characteristics of punch card ballots (resulting in hanging, dimpled, or pregnant chads). A proposed solution to these problems was the installation of modern electronic voting machines. The United States presidential election of 2000 spurred the debate about election and voting reform, but it did not end it. In the aftermath of the election, the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) was passed to help states upgrade their election technology in the hopes of preventing similar problems in future elections.
The building was used a machine shed before being demolished. A geological survey of Groveton was conducted by a team from Ottawa around 1905, where the highest point of land between the Saint Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers was identified on property owned by a local family. A concrete marker was placed on the location as well as a tall, wooden work tower. Shortly after the tower was erected, locals began to climb the wooden structure for the view, however after it was left unmaintained for over a decade, it became both an eyesore and a safety hazard.
There were no formal burial grounds in the new settlement, not even yet incorporated as a city, and the land later used for the current cemetery was used for this first death in the new community. Later, even as two more formal cemeteries were established elsewhere in the city, it continued to be the burial ground for the city's poorer citizens, including some Civil War veterans, until the Great Depression in the 1930s. After its last burials it fell unmaintained and overgrown, even as skiing and other resort industries revived Aspen's economy in the late 20th century. Trees grew amid many graves.
The Knowlton House is located in southern Montville, a rural inland community in western Waldo County, Maine. It is set on the northwest side of Choate Road, at a four-way junction where Choate Road becomes Sumner Martin Road, and the crossing road is an old (and now unmaintained) county road. The house is a 1-1/2 story wood frame Cape style structure, five bays wide, with a side gable roof, central chimney, clapboard siding, and stone foundation. The front facade, facing southeast, is symmetrical, with a center entrance that is simply framed, and is topped by a four-light transom window.
GetDeb and PlayDeb serve two primary purposes. They allow Ubuntu users to install software that is not yet included in the main repositories, and offer current versions of many packages that are included in the Ubuntu repositories. The latter is of utility because, due to the release cycle adopted by Ubuntu, most packages will be several months out of date at the time of release, and will not receive feature updates until the next discrete release for stability reasons. It is generally advisable to subscribe only to Ubuntu's own package repositories where possible, as software offered by GetDeb and PlayDeb is commonly out of date or unmaintained.
Following the Continental Divide as closely as practicable and crossing it 30 times, about 90% of the GDMBR is on unpaved roads and trails and requires basic off-pavement riding skills to complete. The unpaved portions of the route range from high quality dirt or gravel roads to singletrack mountain bike trails to a few short sections of unmaintained trails which may not be possible to ride at all. The GDMBR has over of elevation gain and loss for the rider to contend with. While most of the GDMBR is off the pavement, the route does not require highly technical mountain bike riding skills.
A GEDCOM validatorView of phpgedview's GEDCOM validator source code that can be used to validate the structure of a GEDCOM file is included as part of PhpGedView project, though it is not meant to be a standalone validator. For standalone validation you can use "The Windows GEDCOM Validator"The Windows GEDCOM Validator (dead link) or the older unmaintained GedcheckGedcheck - "uses a grammar file for the specific version of GEDCOM you want to check against." The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the LDS Church. During 2001, The GEDCOM TestBook Project evaluated how well four popular genealogy programs conformed to the GEDCOM 5.5 standard using the Gedcheck program.
Old Route 17 runs through the community; since 2016, stop signs and speed limit signs ( throughout the hamlet) are posted in both English and Seneca, with U.S. customary measurements used for both. It historically has been accessible only through Salamanca; the highway leading west of Jimerson Town was closed to traffic in the 1970s. (It was reopened in 2014 after a portion of old Route 17 washed out, stranding several of the westernmost residents; the route west of Jimerson Town remains unmaintained.) Loop roads serve the various residences and infrastructure in the area. The Allegheny Reservoir terminates near the hamlet and runs adjacent to the community as the Allegheny River.
However, the settlement did not lead to repairs, much less restarting operations, and eventually the unmaintained infrastructure started to fall apart, with the vehicles decommissioned in 1987, the electrical transmission lines in 1991 and Ofuna's monorail station in 1992. Meanwhile, Yokohama Dreamland was purchased in 1988 by Japanese retail group Daiei, who decided to rebuild the line as a HSST maglev train. Planning started in earnest in 1995, with the line to be up and running by 1999. However, protests by local residents worried about electromagnetic radiation, as well as the high costs associated with the new technology, led to this plan being scuppered in 2001.
In Montana, from the mouth of the river at Hardin upstream to about 8 miles above Wyola, there is paved and gravel road access to the Little Bighorn Valley, and upstream from this point to the mouth of the Little Bighorn canyon there is a gravel road maintained by Bighorn County. However, from the point at which the river flows out of the canyon (at about the Wyoming-Montana state line) the road continues upstream in the canyon for only about 2 miles. There are two (and sometimes three) unbridged stream fords. This portion of the road is unmaintained and is a two track road with tight turns.
CRs 18/231/235 cross that same railroad line once again, and then CR 18 branches off to the west into State Road 18. North of Brooker, CRs 231/235 curve to the northeast, although one last chance to return to the town comes at the intersection of North Bloxham Street. From here the road curves straight north until the end of the CR 231/235 overlap, where CR 231 makes a smooth turn to the northwest toward Lake Butler, while CR 235 branches off to the northeast. After this CR 235 crosses an unmaintained railroad spur leading to the same line it had encountered since Newberry.
While Google maintains the Android's primary codebase and firmware, updates for various Android devices are the responsibility of wireless carriers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). As a result, propagating patches to the actual devices often introduces long delays due to a large fragmentation between the manufacturers, device variants, Android versions, and various Android customizations performed by the manufacturers; furthermore, many older or lower cost devices may never receive patched firmware at all. Many of the unmaintained devices would need to be rooted, which violates the terms of many wireless contracts. Therefore, the nature of Stagefright bug highlights the technical and organizational difficulties associated with the propagation of Android patches.
New complex in South Jakarta The task of archive management in the early period of Dutch presence in Indonesia fell upon the General Secretariat of the colonial government. Archive material received little attention during this period and was often unmaintained, resulting in accumulation of material and insect damage. During the interregnum period (1811–1816) arising from Napoleonic Wars, the British took over administration of the Dutch East Indies. Archive maintenance fell upon the hands of the librarian of the Royal Batavian Society of Arts and Sciences. On 19 February 1819, the archive was returned to the management of the General Secretariat and remained within its jurisdiction until 1892.
GIMP, who discontinued their use of SourceForge as a download mirror in November 2013, reported in May 2015 that SourceForge was hosting versions of their Windows binaries that "put other software apart from GIMP on our users' systems" on their Open Source Mirror directory, which SourceForge claims is a collection of abandoned projects. This came despite SourceForge's commitment in November 2013 to never bundle adware with project downloads without developers' consent. GIMP said "To us, this firmly places SourceForge among the dodgy crowd of download sites." On June 1, 2015, SourceForge claimed that they had stopped coupling "third party offers" with unmaintained SourceForge projects.
Living conditions were primitive, particularly in the early years when few permanent structures existed suitable for surviving the harsh winter environment. No utilities such as power, water or telephone ran to the land; heating and cooking was by wood, kerosene or bottled propane, and lighting by candles or kerosene lantern. Drinking and bathing water was drawn from Black Turn Brook, or directly from the Coaticook River. Winter access was particularly challenging; once off the plowed state highway, the unmaintained dirt logging trails were frequently blocked by heavy, drifting snowfall accumulations, adding a half-mile hike in from the highway, with snowshoes, toboggans and cross-country skis much-desired items.
Winchester Mountain reflected in Twin Lakes The trail head is accessed by the Twin Lakes Road (Forest Service #3065 in the North Fork Nooksack area) off of the Mt Baker Highway. The first to the Tomyhoi Lake/Yellow Aster Butte trailhead is well maintained. The remaining of road is not maintained and can only be driven at about by 4x4 vehicles with high clearance. The unmaintained portion of road is often washed out in the early part of the season and is only fixed up by the miners at the Lone Jack Mine, provided they decide to operate the mine that year based on the price of gold.
A proposal by the Ross family to demolish the now- unstable structures was successfully opposed by Route 66 preservationists in 2002 after the issue was publicised in "Route 66 Magazine" and on-line but no attempt has been made to prevent the further deterioration of the buildings. Mock Burma-Shave signs at the site once advised visitors to "photograph these / while you're here / the wrecking ball / is looming near". Unmaintained since 1971 and bypassed since the 1960s, the property is in dire condition and beyond repair. By 2011, the roof of John's larger living cabin had collapsed, along with 2 of the newer cabins he built.
Options include launching with the Video or Square mode rather than the Photo mode, preserving the last-used filter, and preserving the capture settings for Live Photos. Music added to Apple Music on one device can now be automatically downloaded to other devices using the "Automatic Downloads" setting. The Settings allows the user the option to have routes in the Maps app avoid toll roads and/or highways. In iOS 10.3, Settings was updated to feature information relating to a user's Apple ID account in the main menu, and features a section that allows users to see which old, unmaintained apps won't work in future versions of iOS.
He was the only keeper killed on duty during the war. A year later the light was renovated and equipped with a fifth-order Fresnel lens. Storm damage was a constant issue, with major repairs coming in 1888 to erect a new breakwater and wharf, and after the hurricane of 1915, the house was put on a new foundation of concrete pilings which raised it by six feet. The light was deactivated around World War II (sources differ as to whether it went dark in 1939 or 1945) but survived for many years, supplanted by an automated post light and day marker located further offshore; it was sold to private interests but was left unmaintained.
The Federal Office for Citizen Protection and Disaster Support (Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe, BBK) is working on an implementation based on CAP 1.2, which will allow for Internet-based access to data provided by the nation's modular warning system MoWaS. The development of MoWaS is based on the satellite-based warning system SatWaS from 2001, which only provides information to less than 150 state and media entities. In case no broadcast receiver, like a radio or television, is running nearby, the resulting warning effect of SatWaS would be severely limited, because many state-run emergency sirens have been left unmaintained or were dismantled altogether. The use of CAP support in MoWaS should alleviate this problem.
It is nearly straight, bearing about 19 degrees from north. Most of the road was used well into the nineteenth and often, the twentieth century. Some of the road is discontinued, some of it is dedicated trail under the supervision of the Forest and Parks Department, and some of it has reverted to town road status. (The road was originally under the aegis of the County Road Commissioners, but now is the responsibility of the respective Selectbords of the towns in which it is located.) In other places, it is unmaintained, for example in Barton, it leaves Maple Hill Road and becomes a "class 4" town highway until it gets to the golf course.
Having had no correspondence with any of the three men since December 1923, and having noticed that mink traps set in the area had been left unmaintained, Innis Owen Morris, a brother of Dewey Morris, and Pearl Lynnes, superintendent of the Tumalo Fish Hatchery, became suspicious. In April 1924, a search team traveled to the cabin, but found no sign of the men. Inside the cabin, burnt food was in pots on the stove, and the dining table had been set for a meal. Outside, the sled used for the transport of goods and equipment was missing, and a fox pen behind the cabin that contained five valuable foxes owned by Logan was empty.
After the sale, the hotel's retail tenants who had planned to stay through the renovation moved out and the building was shuttered, a state in which it would remain for the next 20 years. Time passed and the unmaintained property fell victim to time, the elements, vandalism, and urban scavengers. Restored interior In July 2003, after years of legal battles to fully acquire the building and to find a developer, the city of Detroit announced a $150 million renovation deal with Historic Hospitality Investments a subsidiary of Kimberly-Clark to turn the building into a Renaissance Hotel. Work started shortly after the announcement but came to a halt in November when construction crews discovered more damage than anticipated.
Under private ownership, abandoned Kirkbrides often languished unmaintained and unsecured, slowly being reclaimed by nature, as with Hudson River State Hospital in New York. Since abandoned structures represent a serious insurance liability, there is incentive for the property owner to secure them, and abandoned property owned by colleges and universities may be especially easy targets for urban exploration, squatting, or vandalism by members of the student body or the general public. In 1993 the Athens Lunatic Asylum's property was deeded over to Ohio University in a land swap with the state's Department of Mental Health. Under the ownership of Ohio University, the property was kept in relatively good shape and was maintained for reuse.
Bettwy then completed college and law school on the G.I. Bill and got his start with the Phoenix firm of Page & Company, which specialized in public lands. Bettwy did not particularly enjoy the practice of law, but he loved Arizona and knew its history and every inch of its territory, having traveled it many times over with his father. On vacations with his own family, Bettwy could not resist detours along old highways and backroads, often unmaintained and treacherous. Bettwy and his wife Janice Kathryn Kennerly had three children, all of whom became lawyers: Andrew Wilson Bettwy (1944–2011), Samuel Bettwy of San Diego, California, and Maria Wolfinger Bettwy of Phoenix, Arizona.
According to these studies, certain features of a given microclimate – such as sandy soil, hardwood trees, rivers, and the presence of deer – were determined to be good predictors of dense tick populations. A habitat preferred by ticks is the interface where a lawn meets the woods, or more generally, the ecotone, which is unmaintained transitional edge habitat between woodlands and open areas. Therefore, one tick management strategy is to remove leaf litter, brush, and weeds at the edge of the woods. Ticks like shady, moist leaf litter with an overstory of trees or at least shrubs, and they deposit their eggs into such places in the spring, so that the larvae can emerge in the fall and crawl into low-lying vegetation.
Cassini probe A radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG, RITEG) is a type of nuclear battery that uses an array of thermocouples to convert the heat released by the decay of a suitable radioactive material into electricity by the Seebeck effect. This type of generator has no moving parts. RTGs have been used as power sources in satellites, space probes, and uncrewed remote facilities such as a series of lighthouses built by the former Soviet Union inside the Arctic Circle. RTGs are usually the most desirable power source for unmaintained situations that need a few hundred watts (or less) of power for durations too long for fuel cells, batteries, or generators to provide economically, and in places where solar cells are not practical.
Entrance to the gaol, ~1936 In the 1850s the district where the gaol was subsequently located was known unofficially as 'Boggo', and by the 1860s the track through the area was known as Boggo Road. It has been suggested that the name came about because the area was very boggy in wet weather. Another theory is that Boggo (or 'Bloggo' or 'Bolgo') was a corruption of an Aboriginal word meaning 'two leaning trees', and that the road was named after two prominent trees at either One-Mile Swamp or what is now Wilkins Street, off Annerley Road. Another possibility is that Boggo Road was an unofficial and unmaintained short-cut between Ipswich Road and Stanley Street that became very boggy after rain.
Growth accelerated with wagons being replaced by coaches, and coaching in Liphook was firmly established by 1660. The roads were often unmaintained and unsigned - Samuel Pepys records three journeys by this road in May 1661, April 1662 and August 1668, on the last occasion staying in Lippock: The Royal Anchor coaching inn, The Square, Liphook A coach service from London to Portsmouth started in 1688, which coincided with growth of The Royal Anchor coaching inn, and other 17th century buildings in The Square. The Royal Anchor has a fireback dated 1588 which supports the supposition that there was an earlier building on the site. In the 17th century the Royal Navy considered the road from Petersfield to Portsmouth impassable for heavy goods in winter.
Pander arrives to identify her, but her inability to correctly name him coupled with her skin having returned to a darker brown from her pallid complexion after months under the snow means he leaves her in the prison. There she has several encounters with an alien race who, it is suggested, caused the snow and move through it as their natural medium. Eventually the General hears of her imprisonment and visits her personally, recognising and releasing her. During her time in the camp vast stores of food and fish have been located by the food miners - the food in warehouses deep under the snow, but still viable, and the fish in thermally heated pools, or artificially created lakes near power stations that are melting nearby snow due to unmaintained atomic pile.
The largest body of water in Bure Mudaytu is Lake Yardi, which is fed by the winter floods of the Awash; other rivers include the Hawadi. This woreda was affected by the March 1996 Awash floods, which were caused by unmaintained dikes breaking. However, the flooding only affected abandoned cotton fields, although local media erroneously stated that the Awash had flooded in June of that year and caused much hardship and destruction; these reports were disproved upon investigation.Awash river floods (Afar Regional State): Helicopter Survey, 5 June 1996, UNDP Emergencies Unit for Ethiopia report, dated June 1996 (accessed 11 January 2009) Another local landmark is the Bouri Formation an archeological site which has yielded numerous Australopithecines and Homo fossils, artifacts, and bones of large mammals with cut marks.
Bagnall 2370 of 1929, in a field near Leicester Number 2370 is a 0-6-0 ordered in December 1928 by the Distillers Company and delivered to their Salt End Works, Kingston upon Hull, in May 1929. After working at Procter & Gamble, soap manufacturers, at West Thurrock, Essex, it moved in late 1979 to the North Norfolk Railway, where it went on static display at Sheringham railway station (North Norfolk Railway) for a number of years before moving (circa 2004) to a private site at Holt Farm, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire. In September 2008, it moved four miles to Blaby, Leicestershire, where it is plinthed in a field alongside the Leicester-Birmingham railway line and is being used, now in a semi-derelict and unmaintained manner, to publicise a campaign to re-open Blaby railway station.
The full death toll cannot be known, as there is little available census information for the area, some bodies were destroyed outright in the blaze, and others may have been removed by relatives before the recovery operation began. Others died later in hospital from their terrible injuries. The crash was determined by police to be the result of the truck's faulty brakes, but local people expressed anger at that conclusion, claiming that the brakes were just one of a number of factors which led to the disaster. They claimed that the road approaching the bus stop was too narrow and totally unmaintained, resulting in damage to vehicles and allowing the truck to roll straight into the bus station, which had no protection against this type of incident in place such as concrete or metal defences to fend off speeding vehicles.
By the mid-1830s, the frame courthouse of 1820 had become insufficient, and the county government ordered its removal and the construction of a brick replacement on the same lot; the project was completed in 1838 at a cost of $5,000. Although the building was quite fine for the period, it was left altogether unmaintained, and the necessity of constructing a fourth courthouse began to appear before the eyes of the county officials. The General Assembly passed an act in early 1853 permitting Union County to borrow $5,000 for construction (not many years after a similar act had permitted the county to borrow $1,000 to repair the previous building), and the replacement building opened in 1858 at a final cost of $12,000. Two stories tall with a taller central section, the building featured a small tower atop the stepped facade.
Although Amin proclaimed that the "common man" was the beneficiary of this drastic act — which proved immensely popular in Uganda and most of Africa — it was actually the Ugandan army that emerged with the houses, cars, and businesses of the departing Asian minority. This expropriation of foreign property proved disastrous for the already declining economy. With the economy now run by Ugandan army officers and supporters (many of whom had no experience in how to run a business), all of the local businesses and stores were soon run into the ground from mismanagement and abuse of power, cement factories at Tororo and Fort Portal collapsed from lack of maintenance and neglect, and sugar production ground to a halt as unmaintained machinery jammed permanently. Uganda's export crops were sold by government parastatals, but most of the foreign currency they earned went for purchasing weapons and imports for the army.
Kent was decommissioned in the summer of 1980, after only 17 years of active service and became the replacement for HMS Fife and Fleet Training Ship (FTS), moored to the lower end of Whale Island outboard of the defunct support ship opposite Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Naval Base. At the beginning of the Falklands War, she was surveyed for possible recommissioning (her large size, helicopter deck and four 4.5-inch guns would have made her a good command and shore bombardment ship), but her two years of unmaintained status meant a substantial amount of refit would be required to make her seaworthy, and no work was begun. HMS Kent as a training ship, 1989 She spent 1982 through to 1984 as a live asset for artificer and mechanic training supporting HMS Collingwood and HMS Sultan, her machinery largely in serviceable condition. In 1984 she also became a harbour training ship for the Sea Cadet Corps.
2 Jeep XJ Cherokees on the Rubicon Springs bridge over the week of the 4th of July 2018 Banana, a 1990 4Runner attempting to climb over Silby Rock, from the series Top Gear A Bronco II driving through the now demolished Gatekeeper obstacle The Rubicon Trail is a 22-mile-long route, part road and part 4x4 trail, located in the Sierra Nevada of the western United States, due west of Lake Tahoe and about east of Sacramento. The western maintained section of the route is called the Wentworth Springs Road; it begins in Georgetown, California, a hamlet in California's Gold Country. The road continues from its intersection with State Route 193 toward Wentworth Springs, where the trailhead for the unmaintained portion of the route exists adjacent to Loon Lake. The trail portion of the route is about long and passes in part through the Eldorado National Forest as well as the Tahoe National Forest and the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.
Cordy Burrows's tomb is a flat plinth of grey marble with an iron chain around it; Goulty, minister at the Nonconformist Union Chapel, has an obelisk-style memorial in the unconsecrated southwest section. Smith Hannington, founder of the Brighton department store which bore his surname for nearly 200 years until its closure in 2001, has a stone table-tomb near the Ray mausoleum. Thomas Cooper, an architect who designed the Bedford Hotel and Brighton Town Hall, laid out Queen's Road (the direct route from Brighton railway station to the town centre) and served as a Town Commissioner, is buried in a low tomb in the northwest part of the cemetery, which has been left as an unmaintained natural landscape. John Urpeth Rastrick's huge stone tomb, the cemetery's largest at long and tall, was pulled into the cemetery by 20 horses, and was so wide that a wall had to be removed to let it in.
The Mojave Road, also known as Old Government Road (formerly the Mohave Trail), is a historic route and present day dirt road across what is now the Mojave National Preserve in the Mojave Desert in the United States. This rough road stretched from Beale's Crossing (the river crossing site on the west bank of the Colorado River, opposite old Fort Mohave, roughly southwest of Bullhead City, Arizona), to Fork of the Road location along the north bank of the Mojave River where the old Mojave Road split off from the route of the Old Spanish Trail/Mormon Road. A four-wheel drive vehicle is required for all but a few short stretches of this road, which is unmaintained. The old road from Fork of the Road eastward along the Mojave River is interrupted after by private property, below the site of the old Camp Cady (on the north bank of the Mojave River, roughly northeast of Newberry Springs, California).
Example of a stenciled plaster design Many of the greatest mural paintings in Europe, like Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, are executed in fresco, meaning they are painted on a thin layer of wet plaster, called intonaco; the pigments sink into this layer so that the plaster itself becomes the medium holding them, which accounts for the excellent durability of fresco. Additional work may be added a secco on top of the dry plaster, though this is generally less durable. Plaster (often called stucco in this context) is a far easier material for making reliefs than stone or wood, and was widely used for large interior wall-reliefs in Egypt and the Near East from antiquity into Islamic times (latterly for architectural decoration, as at the Alhambra), Rome, and Europe from at least the Renaissance, as well as probably elsewhere. However, it needs very good conditions to survive long in unmaintained buildings – Roman decorative plasterwork is mainly known from Pompeii and other sites buried by ash from Mount Vesuvius.
While fitting adequate blast deflectors and other minor changes for Phantom operation were estimated to cost no more than £5 million in 1968, refitting the ship to operate with a modern airgroup of Phantoms into the late 1970s was clearly going to cost much more, and the new Conservative government in 1970 confirmed plans to convert to a Commando carrier and withdraw Eagle. In February 1972, the Secretary of State for Defence, Lord Carrington, estimated refitting Eagle to operate Phantoms would cost £25–30 million,Hansard HC 22 February 1972,Defence Estimates debate, line 491. Sec of State for Defence and the overall manpower and cost requirements of operating two large strike carriers were beyond Britain, particularly as Ark Royal was expected to serve to the end of the 1970s with only two short refits.Hansard HL 9/3/1972, Defence Estimates debate, lines 296-7 To preserve Eagle in maintained or unmaintained reserve would require refits, estimated at around £4 million, every 3–4 years,Hansard 4/7/1972 and maintenance crew of 350–400 Navy personnel for 1.5-2 million pounds a year.
Prior to this, in 1999, the old railway girder bridge had been removed, although even for some years before that its use as a footbridge had been banned. In March 2006 a replacement girder bridge was installed, this largely identical to the original bridge, which had laid unmaintained since 1936, and was consequently weak through corrosion – the original bridge (of a modular design intended for use in India) had never been painted and never had holes drilled for rain-water to drain away, despite both of these measures being suggested by the railway inspector in the 1920s, hence the advanced state of decay on this and two other identical bridges on the WHR by the time of their removal. The public continued to unofficially use the trackbed and tunnels as a footpath until construction work on the railway made such use dangerous. Until that point, however, the railway had offered better views for walkers than the Fisherman's Path, plus the thrill of walking through the tunnels which also provided a more direct route to Nantmor car- park than the narrow and slippery Fisherman's Path.
