At the end of each episode, Cannon would write "Nick Cannon Was Here" on something related to the day's episode just so he could leave his mark.

The series first aired in March 1996 as a six-episode test run, since Nickelodeon usually produced one major new series at a time and they were already producing Space Cases. The success of the test run prompted Nickelodeon to re-introduce the series on SNICK in January 1997, along with seven new episodes. During the show's third season, production stopped after eight of a proposed thirteen episodes were filmed due to a crew strike, as the show's budget did not cover the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees's demands, partly due to the decision to shoot film instead of videotape. Production resumed in Montreal in February 1998, after Cinar agreed to co-produce the series.

It was first seen from the air by Lincoln Ellsworth on November 23, 1935, and the north and east portions mapped from photos obtained on that flight by W.L.G. Joerg. Later, it was resighted from the air by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE), 1947–48, and named by Finn Ronne for General Curtis LeMay, Deputy Chief of Air Staff for Research and Development of the then United States Army Air Forces, which furnished equipment for the expedition. The song is about sadness following a lost love, and a young girl's despair after "saying the wrong thing to the right guy". Holly Hammond, writing in Yoga Journal, described Dunn as "one of the earliest American Iyengar Yoga teachers", one considered as a "teacher's teacher" because she trained many other Iyengar Yoga instructors. LA Yoga magazine called her "the star that lived among us"; it reported that Iyengar described her as "a clean and clear person".
The exact origin of the word Qarqī'ān is unknown though several theories exist; One such theory states that it is derived from Qarqa'ah (), which means click or snick, the sound of iron pots carrying the sweets hitting each other while serving the sweets. Another theory says that it could originate from the kids of Medina singing "Qarrat Al-'Ain, Qarrat Al-'Ain" (Arabic: قرة العين, literally meaning "eye water- parsnip", that is "wideleaf waterparsnip", but figuratively "darling" and also a title of poet Táhirih) which was changed with time to Qarqī'ān. The holiday is also known by several different names in each region: Majeena or Karkiaan in Iraq, Garangao or Garangaou in Qatar and Bahrain, Karkee'aan or Qariqaan in Saudi Arabia, Gargee'aan or Girgian in Kuwait and Ahwaz, Garangashoch, At- Tablah or Qarnakosh in Oman, and Hag Al Leylah in the UAE.
In 2009, he saw his fanbase and production demand skyrocketed after collaborating with and producing for highly acclaimed artist Noa James on his Sounds of A Monster and Ab-Soul’s Longterm 2. Shortly after these collaborations, King’s work eventually caught the attention of engineer/producer/rapper Jynxx, who approached King about signing to his independent label, Black Cloud Music. Under the Black Cloud Music imprint Curtiss began to gain nationwide exposure as an artist with the release of projects such as Snick @ Nite, and Jet Pack On E.Ab-Soul – Longterm 2: Lifestyles Of The Broke & Almost Famous In 2010, King’s production began to take on a world wide exposure when he was invited to compete in the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle. Curtiss would also see additional exposure when he scored his first major label placement on Glasses Malone and Mack 10’s album Money Music.
The year 1992 saw the introduction of the network's popular long-running primetime block SNICK (contraction of Saturday Night Nick) and the network's first in-house sketch comedy/variety series Roundhouse. While not hugely successful in the ratings, Roundhouse still was innovative in some ways such as featuring a large diverse teenage cast and an urban setting which stood out from the predominately white suburban environment of the Nickelodeon's previous series. From 1993 to 1994, Nickelodeon aired The Adventures of Pete & Pete (which grew to have a strong cult following over the years), The Secret World of Alex Mack (a female driven series like Clarissa which was also a success, having a four-year run) and the short-lived My Brother and Me (which serves as a milestone as Nick's first black sitcom). The year 1994 marked the premiere of highly successful sketch comedy series All That which highlighted a multiracial cast similar to its predecessor Roundhouse but unlike its predecessor, All That enjoyed a decade of popularity ending its long run in 2005.
Other "death slots" include Saturday nights, the 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. weekday time slots (at least during the 1980s; both time slots have since been abandoned by all networks and given to local news or syndication), and the time slot or slots immediately opposite popular shows such as American Idol or the Super Bowl (see also Super Bowl counter programming). The phenomenon of fewer viewers on Friday and Saturday is in part because most people (particularly the younger viewers that advertisers often seek) are usually not home to watch television on Friday and Saturday nights as they participate in leisure activities on those days, and as a result, programs that air during this time usually receive low ratings. However, some cable channels aimed at children, teenagers or pre-teen audiences (such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney Channel) have experienced success with original programs that they commonly air in the perceived Friday and Saturday night death slots; Nickelodeon in particular, has aired first-run teen programs during Saturday prime time since 1992 with the creation of the SNICK block (later renamed TEENick from 2004 to 2009), as well as ABC's "TGIF" block from the 1980s and '90s.
