Stanisław Sówka z Gulczewa (of Prawdzic Coat of Arms), was fourteenth century bishop of Płock in Poland who held office from 1367 to 1375 AD. Diocese of Płock at GCatholic.org He came from Gulczewa near Płock and with his brother Mikołaj worked in the office of the king.AJ Papierowski, J. Stefanski Płocczanie Słownik biograficzny(Biographical Dictionary), Plock 2002. Mikołaj was appointed a bishop by pope Urban V a position he filled for 12 years.

There is evidence that a few Poles tried to help their Jewish neighbors in Plock by smuggling food into the ghetto, sneaking food to them while they were awaiting deportation, and throwing loaves of bread to them on the transport trucks. While small acts, they took courage. By 1946, only 300 Jews survived in Płock. While they were active in the new politics, gradually the Jews left, and by 1959 three remained.

Claire-Louise Catterall is a British beauty queen and model. She has represented her country in the World Model Competition and competed in Miss Universe Great Britain. Catterall was the Miss England representative at Miss Supranational 2010 in Plock, Poland on 28 August. Catterall competed for the Miss Cymru International title on 26 January 2013 which she obtained as the overall winner, making her the first Welsh girl to win the title.

Burchard was born in Heilsberg (modern Lidzbark Warmiński, Warmian- Masurian Voivodeship). He studied medicine in Tübingen, Würzburg and Kiel, taking his doctoral degree in 1900 with a dissertation on Einige Fälle von vorübergehender Glycosurie. After his studies, he worked as a physician in Berlin and opened his own practice. Here he met Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld and joined him to found the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee along with the pastor Georg Plock and Baron Hermann von Teschenberg.

In 1929, after the introduction of the ordination of women in the Old Catholic Mariavite Church, Wiłucka-Kowalska and 11 other nuns were ordained in Płock on 28 March 1929. in Plock, and Wiłucka-Kowalska was then consecrated as a bishop. From that time, having the title of archpriestess, she was a member of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church synod of bishops, along with , , and . Her responsibilities included care of the priesthood of sisters.

On 25 August the unit was transferred to Jesau and participated in the Invasion of Poland. Stab/KG 2 was withdrawn on 20 September and placed under the Command of Luftflotte 3 carrying out reconnaissance missions over France. I. 2 attacked airfields at Wilna and Lida and Plock on 1 September and again on 2 September. From 2–3 September it supported the German Third Army and German Fourth Army north of Warsaw.

Gloucester City Hockey Club is a field hockey club that is based at Gloucester. It has two home ground venues; the Oxstalls Tennis Centre, Plock Court, Longford and at St Peter's High School, Gloucester. The club runs five women's teams with the first XI playing in the Women's England Hockey League Division One North. The men's section has four men's teams with the first XI playing in the Men's Verde Recreo League.

On the strength of this the band was signed to Warp and, in September 1998, released the single "plock". This was tipped as one of the singles of the year by NME, Melody Maker and Dazed & Confused. An album For Beginner Piano was released in September 1999 to widespread critical acclaim. Rob Mitchell (who had originally signed the band to Warp) was diagnosed with cancer in 2001 and died in September that year.

News from Poland - The News.p. On 12 February 2007, Pope Benedict wrote a letter to Wielgus that said: "I hope you will be working again for the Church in Poland". In March 2007, the newspaperRzeczpospolita reported that Wielgus while Bishop of Plock failed to respond to reports that several of his priests were sexually abusing minors. Roman Marcinkowski, Auxiliary Bishop of Płock countered that official complaints had been lodged and said the charges were "fragmentary and based on gossip".

In 1715, he joined the Jesuits, took his first vows in 1717, but in 1723 he left the Jesuit order, probably under the influence of the family, who preferred that received the higher ecclesiastical dignity. From 1725 he was dean of the chapter of Płock, and in 1729 a canon of Cracow on the 7 May 1732. This was due manly to support of his brother Andrzej Stanislaw Zaluski, then Bishop of Płock. Page 437. Wielun, Wilno, and Zamosc. Over 156 towns and villages were attacked by the Luftwaffe.

The history of the cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption begins during the episcopate of Bishop Maciej of Golancz (1323-1364). He was a canon of Wloclawek, Gniezno, Poznan, Plock, Cracow, and Wroclaw. Maciej was the first initiator and the builder of the cathedral. On 7 May 1329 Teutonic troops captured Wloclawek, and destroyed the borough, concentrating in particular on the bishop’s property. The Teutonic Knights forbade restoring the bishop’s town and the cathedral on pain of death.

Prior to this, beach-goers were forced to change their clothes in their cars. The designs were prepared by architect John L. Plock in November 1930. The project was approved by the mayor's office in February 1931. The foundation of the building was completed in August 1931. Contracts were let for building construction in September 1931. Later that month, Benninger requested an additional $105,000 for the project from the New York City Board of Estimate, on top of the initial $425,000 appropriated.

The town had a significant Jewish minority, which in the Second Polish Republic numbered some 2,000, out of total population of 12,000. In 1924-25, Gostynin received rail connection with Plock and Kutno, thanks to a newly built line. On 16 September 1939 Gostynin was captured by the Wehrmacht, and by late September, the town was directly annexed to the Third Reich. Its name was first changed into Gasten, and from June 1941 until the end of German occupation it was called Walrode.

Kyle of Lochalsh The village is the transport and shopping centre for the area as well as having a harbour and marina with pontoons for maritime visitors. The Plock offers a local woodland hike and viewpoint over the peninsula. The surrounding scenery and wildlife are regarded as attractions of the village, as is the slow pace of life. Crofting as well as more recent crofting pursuits like salmon farming are some of the activities taking place in Kyle of Lochalsh.

His other comics included La Famille Fenouillard (probably the first French comic, 1889); Le Sapeur Camember (1890–1896); Les Malices de Plick et Plock (1893–1904); and Le Baron de Cramoisy (1899). Colomb's works were comic sketches exploring the quirks of his title characters. Images to him were more vital than words in communicating with children (the dialogue and Colomb's editorial remarks were always outside the picture frame). His frames have been said to anticipate the "visual grammar" of movies and television.

It was one of the rebel schools during the events of the years 1905-1907, apparently burning portraits of the Tsar. In 1921, this town had 9 houses and 91 residents, belonged to the municipality of Białyszewo. There are two historic buildings: the wooden house number 8 from the mid-nineteenth century, the property of J. Kowalewski, and the wooden house from the mid-nineteenth century, J. Kowalewski property. In the years 1975-1998 the town administratively belonged to the province of Plock.

Apart from Radom, Ursus and Plock, there were strikes and street demonstrations in several other cities, such as Gdansk, Elbląg, Grudziądz, Poznań, Radomsko, Starachowice, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław. Altogether, in June 1976, up to 70000 workers of 90 factories across Poland went on strike. Other sources put the number of strikers at 80000, in 112 factories. In Warsaw proper, even though no demonstrations were recorded, several major factories, such as FSO Warszawa, Radio Works of Marcin Kasprzak went on a short strike.

In 1968, a young man addresses a meeting of protesters by condemning the firebrands who are agitating the students. Eight years later, in Radom, Poland during the June 1976 protests, the young man is now the local First Secretary of the Communist Party (Wenceslaus Ulewicz). He is facing a mob of strikers protesting a 69 percent increase in food prices by the central government. Demonstrations in the industrial towns of Radom and Plock quickly lead to the beating and firing of thousands of workers.

After his death, the Felicjanów Mariavite community recognised Jan Maria Michał Kowalski as a holy martyr. On account of the respect in which he was held, his portrait was displayed in his church's buildings. He is remembered several times during the liturgical year: 29 January – the deportation of Archbishop Michael from Plock 26 May – Martyrdom of Saint Michael, 29 September – St Michael Archangel, 25 December – Birthday of St. Michael. Mariavite settlers gave his name to a new village, Michałowo, Płońsk County Jan Kowalski was a prolific writer, translator and editor.

Stefan Antonin Mdzewski was born in Plock in 1653 and ordained a priest in the Order of Preachers on 2 May 1671. On 11 Jan 1690, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Alexander VIII as Auxiliary Bishop of Lutsk and Titular Bishop of Calama. On 12 Mar 1690, he was consecrated bishop by Bogusław Leszczyński (bishop), Bishop of Lutsk, with Andrzej Chryzostom Załuski, Bishop of Kyiv and Chernihiv, serving as co-consecrator. On 13 Aug 1699, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Innocent XII as Auxiliary Bishop of Gniezno.

Despite political difficulties during communist regime, he worked closely with Church organizations in the restoration and rebuilding of several religious heritage buildings including fragments and details of Warsaw Cathedral. King Sigismund's Column before reconstruction, 1945 As well, Zaryn was involved in several projects outside of Warsaw: Sandomierz Castle, churches in Bolimow, Lomza, Poznan Cathedral, historic townhouses in Jelenia Gora, Plock, Brzeg. (For projects documentation see: Hanna Szwankowska "Zbiory Komisji Badan Dawnej Warszawy", Muzeum Historii Polski 1997). He authored numerous articles and books on the history of architecture, conservation and reconstruction focussing on build heritage.

On January 17, Zygmunt Padlewski from Warsaw came to Kampinos, and in the following days, he organized a 1000-strong unit of teenagers, young men and local peasants, some of whom were armed only with sticks. On January 19, most rebels left the forest, heading towards Plock. Still, a number stayed in Kampinos, also more men came to the forest from Warsaw. They were commanded by Aleksander Rogalinski. In the night of April 11/12, two prisoners of Warsaw Citadel decided to escape, hoping that their guards would be drunk, celebrating Orthodox Easter.

The von Plötzke family were the hereditary Dukes of Masovia. In the mid 13th century, after considerable disagreement with the reigning Piast dynasty in Poland, members of the family joined the knights of the Teutonic Order. Most notable was Heinrich von Plötzke, while born a Duke of Masovia, did not use the title and became a major officer (including Komtur) of the Knights. Due to Plock and Masovia's location next to Poland and inter-marriage with Polish noble families, the family name is listed among both Polish and German noble families.

In 2010, he conducted the choir in a concert of Handel's Messiah at the Marktkirche Wiesbaden, with soloists Elisabeth Scholl, Andreas Scholl, Andreas Karasiak and Florian Plock. The choir performs regularly in concerts during Advent in Wiesbaden churches such as St. Bonifatius and the Christuskirche. For their artistic work as "ambassadors" of the capital, Twardy and the choir were awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Wiesbaden in 2013. Stabat Mater, 25 October 2019 From 2019, Twardy has been the interim conductor of the Chor von St. Bonifatius in Wiesbaden, succeeding Gabriel Dessauer.

Erwin de Wit and Hans Smits often came together in Soos Plock, where they socialised and saw bands like Blood, Agathocles, Dreft and other bands who were into grindcore/noisecore at that time. It also was the heyday of some other underground bands such as Fear of God, Napalm Death, Sore Throat, Anal Cunt, and 7 Minutes of Nausea. These bands inspired them to go and start their own grind/noise band. Erwin was in a grindcore band called Fatal Error prior to joining Last Days of Humanity.

The Bears folded at the end of the 1987 season. A new team was set up at Plock Court, Gloucester playing under the name of the Severn Vale Royals. The Royals took part in the British National Gridiron League during the 1989 to 1993 seasons, reaching a Bowl Final in their rookie year, but losing out to their bitter rivals, the Cheltenham Chieftains. The Severn Vale Royals closed at the end of the 1993 season and the team was replaced the following year by the West Country Phoenix.

The musicians on this release—Lawrence Nichols (vocals), Christopher Plock (saxophones), Michael Kaler (aka Blitz) (bass)—soon became known as The Rusty Nails, and were joined by Rob Fenton (saxophone, violin), and Mark Hansen (drums). Mark Hansen was a member of the Toronto band Dig Circus, which was mentioned in a Lowest of the Low song. The Rusty Nails spent much of 1996 and 1997 touring in support of The Secret of My Excess. In September 1998 their first album Greasing the Star Machine was released independently, and was followed by Crackstatic in 2000.

In Plock, the third center of demonstrations, the strike broke out in one of the biggest Polish companies, Masovian Refinery and Petrochemical Plant (now PKN Orlen). The workers formed a demonstration, and at about 14:00, they appeared in front of the Płock Voivodeship's office of the PZPR. Three hours later the crowd numbered around 3000, but workers of other local factories did not join the protest. A party official gave a speech, and in the evening of that day, street fights began, with the demonstrators throwing rocks, and destroying a fire truck.

1999-2000 Petro Plock He returned to the United States and joined the Cleveland Crunch of the National Professional Soccer League for the end of the 1999–2000 season. In 2003, Apple moved to the Cincinnati Riverhawks before rejoining the Riverhounds in 2004.2004 Pittsburgh Riverhounds In the fall of 2003, Apple signed with the St. Louis Steamers of the second Major Indoor Soccer League. On March 18, 2005, the Steamers traded Apple and Nate Houser to the Baltimore Blast in exchange for Carlos Farias. He finished the season with the Blast.

Die Freundschaft was founded by Karl Schultz on 13 August 1919, and was alternatively subtitled "Mitteilungsblatt des Klubs der Freunde und Freundinnen" ("News bulletin of the Club of [male] friends and [female] friends") or "Monatsschrift für den Befreiungskampf andersveranlagter Männer und Frauen" ("Monthly magazine for the liberation of men and women of different disposition"). It became the first gay publication to be sold openly at newsstands. It was edited by Max H. Danielsen until 1922, when he was replaced by Georg Plock. Rudolph Ihne was also involved in overseeing the magazine's publication.

Papczyński's mission was made more difficult by his being of common birth and advocating a very rigorous lifestyle in the prevalent aristocratic mentality. He found support for his plan from the Bishop of Poznan, Stefan Wierzbowski. Rejecting proposals from different Orders and bishops (those of Cracow and Plock), Papczyński went as a chaplain to Jakub Karski's house in Lubocza near Nowe Miasto-on-Pilica in order to prepare himself for this new undertaking. There, in September 1671, he was vested in a white religious habit in honor of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.

From 1384 to 1399 and from 1407 to 1411, Zawkrze was pawned to the Teutonic Knights by Duke of Mazovia, Siemowit IV. In 1494, during the reign of King Jan Olbracht, Zawkrze was annexed by the Kingdom of Poland, in which it was part of Plock Voivodeship. It was divided into three counties (Szreńsk, Mława and Niedzborz, and its boundaries remained unchanged until the Partitions of Poland - following the second partition (1793), northern part of Zawkrze was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia, and in 1795, whole Zawkrze became part of Prussia. From 1815 to 1918, Zawkrze belonged to Russian-controlled Congress Poland.

Located on the south side of Rockaway Beach Boulevard near the horizontal center of the park is the bathhouse, which has historically served as the entrance to the beach. It was first completed in 1932, designed by John L. Plock of the Stoughton and Plonck firm in Moorish/Byzantine style. The 1936-1937 WPA project led to a reconfiguration of the bathhouse, designed by Clinton Loyd, which added Art Deco/Art Moderne elements. The alteration in architectural style is said to have been brought on by Robert Moses being "annoyed" by the bathhouse's original Moorish elements.

In terms of church administration, the area belonged to the late eleventh century to the Diocese of Plock. In 1978 it joined the Archdiocese of Warsaw, and from 1995 Łajski became part of the Diocese of Warsaw-Praga. The diocese was founded March 25, 1992 under the edict of Pope John Paul II. Łajski as a village was recorded in the land register as property of Count Potocki Augusta. Named after an owner Łajsk, said to be a colorful figure in those days, a Polish activist who in 1886 was one of the founders and first president of the Warsaw Society of Cyclists.

In c. 1240, Gostynin was expanded by Duke Konrad I of Masovia, and in the 1280s, Duke Boleslaw II and Duke Konrad II fought over control of the settlement. As a result, in 1286 it was burned by Konrad II. Quickly rebuilt, in 1300 Gostynin was besieged but not captured by forces of Wenceslaus II of Bohemia. In c. 1326, the gord was besieged by Władysław I the Elbow-high, who wanted to control the area of Plock, which was a Bohemian fief. By the early 14th century, Gostynin emerged as an important administrative center of Mazovia.

In 1382, Duke Siemowit IV granted town charter to Gostynin, and as a result, ancient gord, located on the left bank of the river declined. Siemowit IV expanded the castle, making it his favorite residence. Władysław II Jagiełło visited Gostynin twice (1414, 1419). Siemowit IV died here in 1426, and after his death, the complex was rebuilt, with a wooden chapel added to it in 1439. After childless deaths of two last dukes of Plock (Siemowit VI) and Władysław II of Płock, in 1462 Gostynin’s residents welcomed King Kazimierz Jagiellonczyk, who confirmed all town’s privileges, and attached it to the Kingdom of Poland.

The band consisted of vocalist Kate Fenner, vocalist and organist Chris Brown, vocalist and guitarist Andrew Whiteman, guitarist Chris Miller, saxophone and vocalist Chris Plock, bassist Jason Mercer drummer Gregor Beresford, and guitar and vocals Peter Mercier when all of the founding members were high school classmates."Bourbons cling to the high ground". The Globe and Mail, August 21, 1995. Vocalist Dave Wall joined the band in 1988, and vocalist and saxophonist Gene Hardy joined in 1989. They released three independent cassettes: First Taste of Bourbon in 1987, If Hell Had a Houseband in 1989 and Sister Anthony in 1990.

In the Geological- Paleontological Museum located in the historic town hall, there are more than 1500 fossils from the Swabian Jura, including ammonites, ichthyosaurs and corals, displayed. In the Waldhausen district the Heimatstüble museum of local history has an exhibition on agriculture and rural living. In the Wasseralfingen district, there are two more museums: The Museum Wasseralfingen comprises a local history exhibition and an art gallery including works of Hermann Plock, Helmut Schuster and Sieger Köder. Also, the stove plate collection of the Schwäbische Hüttenwerke steel mill is exhibited, with artists, modellers and the production sequence of a cast plate from design to final product being presented.

Pomerelia (Pommerellen) and Danzig while part of the monastic state of the Teutonic Knights. Heinrich von Plötzke ( 1264 in Płock, Masovia, Poland – 27 July 1320 in Medininkai, Lithuania) was an officer of the Teutonic Order during the late 13th and early 14th centuries. Born in Płock (Plotzk) in the independent Duchy of Masovia, (now Poland), he was a descendant of the hereditary dukes of Plock but never took the formal title due to the conflict of his family with the ruling Piast dynasty of Poland. Heinrich was the Komtur of Altenburg in 1286 and of Halle in 1287, after which he was transferred to Prussia.

By the war's end, only 300 Jewish residents were known to have survived, of more than 10,000 in the region (for more information see Jewish history below). Some Poles in Plock tried to assist their Jewish neighbors by smuggling food to them and sneaking food to them when they were rounded up and had to stand in the street for an entire day on a bitterly cold day waiting to be deported. Since 1993 and throughout the first decades of the twenty-first century, Rogala has been involved in an ongoing series of still, mixed media, and video artworks for which he has transformed photographs and digital sources using Mind's-Eye-View 360-degree perspective software developed by Ford Oxaal. The Transformed City series works with pictures taken in cities such as Kraków or Istanbul. The Transformed Garden series presents still lifes of fruits and vegetables fragmented into unstable, dynamic compositions. Works from the latter series were published in late 2009 in a book entitled Transformed GardenMiroslaw Rogala and Jim Rohn, and exhibited in Miroslaw Rogala--The Breath of an Image: Digital Photography and Media Works held at The Art Gallery of Plock in 2013.

After playing two seasons with FK DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda in the Slovak Superliga he signed with Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1998 but for the next two years he managed only to play for the reserves team. In summer 2000 he moved to Swiss club FC Lucerne, and after the winter break he continued in Greece with Panionios F.C.. In 2001, he signed with FK Austria Wien but in January 2002 he moved to Grazer AK. Between summer 2002 and 2003 he played with Hungarian Újpest FC. In 2004, he moved to Croatia signing with Prva HNL club HNK Rijeka where he will find stability and stay for almost 3 seasons. He played with Polish Ekstraklasa club Wisla Plock before coming to Slovenia in 2007 to play with ND Gorica. In 2009, he played with Bulgarian PFC Minyor Pernik.

In the past few decades, the existential approach has spread rapidly and has become a welcome alternative to established methods. There are now many other, mostly academic, centers in Britain that provide training in existential counseling and psychotherapy and a rapidly growing interest in the approach in the voluntary sector and the National Health Service. British publications dealing with existential therapy include contributions by these authors: Jenner (de Koning and Jenner, 1982), Heaton (1988, 1994), Cohn (1994, 1997), Spinelli (1997), Cooper (1989, 2002), Eleftheriadou (1994), Lemma-Wright (1994), Du Plock (1997), Strasser and Strasser (1997), van Deurzen (1997, 1998, 2002), van Deurzen and Arnold-Baker (2005), and van Deurzen and Kenward (2005). During the years of 1914–1916 he was a chief of staff of Polish Legions. Since November 1918 in Polish Armed Forces. As former intelligence officer, he accused Józef Piłsudski for being spy in favour of Austria. Outside the military service, Władysław Chotkowski (1843–1926) was a professor and head of Jagiellonian University and another Adam Ostaszewski was President of Plock until 1934. A room in Ostoya Palace of today, property of Rylski family Adam Hrebnicki- Doktorowicz (1857–1941) was a professor in agriculture development, founder of Institute in Ukraine and Karzimierz Zagórski (1883–1944) was widely recognized adventurer-pioneer, photographer. Bronisław Bohatyrewicz (1870–1940) was a general in the Polish army, died in Katyn, general Kazimierz Suchcicki also died in Katyn 1940. General Zbigniew Ścibor Rylski (born 1917) succeeded to survive World War II and his wife, Zofia Rylska was during the war a master spy under the cover name of Marle Springer.

Later he was commandeering military education: he functioned as the commander of non-commissioned officers school, then as commander of the Reserve Officers School. After completing the course at the Training Centre in Rembertów from 4 June to 18 October 1925, again he served in the 3rd Regiment of Cavalry. He served as the Rittmeister. He was then promoted to major of the cavalry from 1 January 1927. From December 1927Official Personnel of the Ministry of Military Affairs No. 28, December 23, 1927 p. 364. to 1929 he held the position of commander of the Cavalry School of Non-Commissioned Officer Professional in Jaworow. He was appointed lieutenant colonel of the cavalry from 1 January 1930. From 1 July 1930, he served as deputy commander of the 4th Mounted Rifle Regiment of Łęczyca in Plock.
