The following morning, the students are informed of Katie's death and are given the day off to mourn. Anti-hero Trevor “Trife” Hector (Aml Ameen) and his best friends Jay (Adam Deacon) and Moony (Femi Oyeniran) decide to spend it smoking weed and drinking alcohol. Alisa (Red Madrell), Trife's ex- girlfriend and also pregnant - supposedly with Sam's baby - decides to spend the day with her best friend Becky (Jaime Winstone). Becky performs oral sex on an older man in return for drugs, and aggressively coaxes Alisa into joining in.

In his review for Spin, James Hunter wrote that the track is one of the times Björk "dips her toe into the warm lake of tradition" and noted its "rockish minor-key verses traipse off into her gospel." The video version of the song is a midtempo trip hop ballad with soul influences. In opposition to the sonically minimalist mix included on the album, this version has been described as "lushly produced" and includes "fluttering" harps and "shivering" strings.

DB Boulevard was an Italian electronic rock group, consisting of members, vocalist Moony (Monica Bragato), along with producers Alfred Azzetto, Diego Broggio and Mauro Ferrucci In 2002, their song "Point of View" peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the US and at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. It contains a re-recorded version of a song called "Heatwave" by French band Phoenix, which was released as a single in 1999. The video clip of the song featured a computer animated cardboard woman. The song was used by Sky Sports in their Speedway Grand Prix coverage.

The film is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder (1954) (remade in 1998 as A Perfect Murder) and features Deol in a love triangle with Akshaye Khanna and Ameesha Patel. The film was generally praised by critics, with Chitra Mahesh of The Hindu saying, "Bobby Deol spends the entire first half looking moony eyed and spaced out, but overcomes the stupor towards the end where he actually gives a good performance." Bobby’s final film of 2002 was David Dhawan's Chor Machaaye Shor in which he acted alongside Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Om Puri. He played Shyam, a small-time crook who gets his hands on some diamonds worth millions.

Early 2011 saw the start of a gradual resurgence of 2-step garage. Producers such as Wookie, MJ Cole, Zed Bias and Mark Hill (formerly one half of Artful Dodger) made a return to the scene, by producing tracks with more of a 2-step feel. Electronic music duos Disclosure and AlunaGeorge, both successful throughout 2012 and 2013, often use elements of UK garage in their music, and arguably, some of their biggest hits including "You & Me" and "We Are Chosen" respectively, are entirely 2-step with an updated cleaner sound. Shortly following this, "original" style garage had made a return in a big way, with producers such as Moony, DJD and Tuff Culture paving the way.
