The brown spotted tabby coat of the Pixie-bob (short-haired) Pixie-bobs are a fully domestic breed of cat selected and bred to resemble the North American bobcat. Pixie-bobs can be large but on average reach around 11 lb (5 kg), similar to good sized domestic cats, with only very few breeders producing consistently large cats. Males are usually larger than females. The average domestic cat weighs about 8 lb (4 kg).
Basket of Fruit (c.1599) is a still life painting by the Italian Baroque master Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571–1610), which hangs in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana (Ambrosian Library), Milan. It shows a wicker basket perched on the edge of a ledge. The basket contains a selection of summer fruit: > ... a good-sized, light-red peach attached to a stem with wormholes in the > leaf resembling damage by oriental fruit moth (Orthosia hibisci).

His weaknesses included; his size (6'1"), throwing off balance, wobbly throws, and he needed to adapt patience to be able to play at the pro level.
Most of the Bay area is flat; in geologically recent times it was part of the seabed! There are many apartments and hotels which attract good reviews and some of the hotels have good-sized swimming pools. Hotels are throughout the bay area with some off a lane running parallel with, and a very short distance from, the main road. No accommodation is far from a supermarket, grocers, bar, café or restaurant.
One source characterized the acoustic signal as "an isolated, single sound of an explosion or implosion, 'a good-sized bang'."Craven, 2001 The acoustic event was reported to have originated near 40 N, 180th longitude. Soviet search efforts, lacking the equivalent of the U.S. SOSUS system, were unable to locate K-129, and eventually Soviet naval activity in the North Pacific returned to normal. K-129 was subsequently declared lost with all hands.
The town residents drink Wendy's Beer, brewed in St. Wendel, a real town in northeast Stearns County. The nearest good-sized town referred to in Keillor's monologues is St. Cloud. Lake Wobegon is sometimes compared favorably to a rival fictional town called Millet; a real town called Rice lies 20 miles north of St. Cloud. Microsoft Virtual Earth now returns a location when Lake Wobegon, Minnesota is entered into its search engine.
Under the banner of Skunk Label, Won operated two live music venues, called Skunk Hell. The first venue, located between Hongik University and Sinchon, was an obscure basement venue described as the size of a "good-sized living room". The second Skunk Hell opened in Hongdae area in January 2004 in the former location of Club Drug. Eventually weekly management of the live music schedule was handed over to Ryu Cheol-hwan of punk band Suck Stuff.
Menominee shares a historic high school football rivalry with neighbor Marinette, Wisconsin. The two have conducted the third longest rivalry in the nation. Menominee, like most good sized towns embraced the newly emerging 19th century sport of football. A local group took the name of North End Athletic Club and under Manager McPhaul, were the visiting opponent for the newly formed Green Bay team sponsored by the Indian Packing Co. led by the eventual legend Captain Curly Lambeau.
Larentiinae is a subfamily of moths containing roughly 5,800 speciesÕunap et al. (2008) that occur mostly in the temperate regions of the world. They are generally considered a subfamily of the geometer moth family (Geometridae) and are divided into a few large or good-sized tribes, and numerous very small or even monotypic ones which might not always be valid. Well-known members are the "pug moths" of the Eupitheciini and the "carpets", mainly of the Cidariini and Xanthorhoini.
Number of crew to race = 3 - 4, Berths = 4, Galley, Head = portable, Navigation = chart table, Maximum headroom = not standing, Accommodation is quite good for a boat of this size and is aided by the large beam. In fine weather three adults can live aboard comfortably, although she has 4 good sized berths. The twin cabin layout offers relatively good privacy, whilst the galley and chart table facilities are reasonable. Most boats carry a portable "chemical" toilet.
Dave Small, the superintendent of the MCSD, said that the number is "the size of one school—a good-sized school at that." At the time the State of California did not have ample funds to fund construction of a new school, and the district had concerns about overcrowding. The district used portable classrooms to handle the new students. Because of the overcrowding, the school systems had to increase class sizes, and several educational facilities faced strains.
Stoke got back into the league in 1919 and the ground had now been improved considerably. There were two good sized grandstands and an extra wooden one which was situated opposite the main stand and could hold 1,000 supporters. The players changing rooms were set in the corner of the ground which also included a stove so players could keep warm. Above the changing 'hut' was the directors box, a rather primitive building but could hold around 12 people.
Since they are a galloping breed, regular exercise is important for them, as it is for all sporting breeds. A good-sized, securely fenced yard is a must to keep a Pointer safe, since they are bred to hunt and pursue scents a good distance from their person. Pointers are habitual "couch potatoes" who enjoy relaxing on the family's chairs, sofas and beds. This is a natural part of their desire to feel part of the pack.
By 29 May 1909 Seneca had destroyed eleven good sized obstructions. On 21 September she was in New York for the Hudson–Fulton Celebration. On 17 May 1910 Seneca visited the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and on 28 June she patrolled the Harvard–Yale Regatta at New London, Connecticut. In June 1911, she escorted the presidential yacht , which had President William Taft and his party on board, from Manhattan Beach to Fall River, Massachusetts.
On an Ordnance Survey map of Suffolk, England, there are two settlements named Tunstall next to each other, north east of Woodbridge. However, these are not two separate villages but one, despite the gap between the main village and the hamlet known as Tunstall Common. Both lie within the parish of Tunstall. The village itself is a good sized settlement with a pub (The Green Man) and a church called St Michael's, notable for its unusual box pews.
Johnston and McAuley (2000), p. 123. Because of the size of the guns and thickness of armor, each of the three main turrets weighed more than a good sized destroyer. Her secondary battery comprised twelve guns mounted in four triple turrets (one forward, one aft, two midships), and twelve guns in six twin mounts (three on each side amidships). These turrets had been taken off the Mogami-class cruisers when those vessels were converted to a main armament of guns.
According to the Encyclopédie, wolf hunting squads in France typically consisted of 25-30 good sized dogs, usually grey in color with red around the eyes and jowls. The main pack would be supplemented with six or eight large sighthounds and a few dogues. Wolf hunting sighthounds were usually separated into three categories; lévriers d'estric, lévriers compagnons (or lévriers de flanc) and lévriers de tête. It was preferable to have two teams of each kind, with each team consisting of 2-3 dogs.

The Banchory show is held every July and attracts a good sized crowd to King George V Park. There is an Agricultural Show, Dog Show, Craft Fair, Highland Dancing Competition and the Scolty Hill Race, as well as traditional fairground stalls and games. The Royal Deeside Railway originating at Milton of Crathes will shortly run to Banchory; this line is part of the original line to Ballater. Scotland's only Rum distillery, Dark Matter Distillers, is located on the outskirts of Banchory.
Robinson and Smith, 1841, vol 3, Appendix 2, p. 127 In 1863, Guérin found the village to have 300 inhabitants, almost all "Schismatic Greek" families, about 40 Catholic and the rest Muslims. In 1882, the Palestine Exploration Fund's Survey of Western Palestine, (=SWP), described Rafidia as "a good-sized village on the hill- side, with a spring above it to the north-east and vegetable gardens below. The inhabitants are Greek Christians....A Protestant school is conspicuous in the middle of the village".
With a wheelbase of and an overall length of , it was a good-sized car, which the Ford company advertised extensively, together with its up-to-20 mpg performance-"few cars of any size can equal such economy." Double sun visors became standard in 1940. Braking was via 12-inch drums. Although "Eight" script would not appear on the front of the hood until the 1941 model year, sales literature prominently referred to the car as the "Mercury Eight" from the very beginning.
Modern new houses were built in the new expansion areas of Keresley Newlands and Keresley End, which included the inclusion of inside toilets and good sized gardens. In 1924 the mine company built a Social Club, operated by the Miners' Federation of Great Britain. The club closed in May 2012, after losses mounted to £500 per day. This plant grows on basalt cliffs located in and around the Yakima River canyon on the Columbia Plateau in Washington. The whole distribution of the plant is within an area 17 kilometers long by 4.5 wide. Threats to the rare plant include mining of basalt rock, railroad and highway maintenance, dam maintenance, and agricultural chemicals, but there are no imminent threats to the survival of the species. There are an estimated 13,805 individuals in total, located within good-sized populations that appear to be stable.
She is, however, not very prolific and tends to produce one lamb: suited to the harsh conditions. The lowland ram, such as the Blueface Leicester is prolific, producing ewes which give 1-3 lambs and capable of producing enough milk to rear them. The cross between the two, in this case the Scottish mule, has good mothering instincts, good sized lambs and prolific milk production. This mule is usually crossed with a meat-type ram, such as the Suffolk or Texel, to produce these market lambs.
Encouraged by the 22,000 strong crowd which attended the Wales vs England match in 1926, local promoters established a club in Pontypridd. The club initially experienced good sized crowds however poor results soon saw attendances drop, and the club only lasted eight games into its second season before folding. A team was formed in Cardiff and played in the 1947/48 and 1951/52 seasons. Rugby league would not revisit south Wales until 1981 to 1985 when the Cardiff City Blue Dragons existed as a club.
The first day at school several of my classmates came around to suggest that of course I was coming out for football; and although I protested that I had never had a ball in my hands, they countered with the argument that I was a good sized lump of a boy and would make a fine prospect. So I promised. Well the only preparation necessary was to take an old pair of shoes down to the town cobbler and have some cleats nailed on them.
Sadly though as in the past injuries again interrupted the managers team and formation plans as both Freddie Steele and Charlie Scrimshaw suffered long term injuries. In November 1937 Stoke accepted a £6,000 offer from West Bromwich Albion for Joe Johnson and in his place Bob McGrory selected Frank Baker. In October 1937 Stoke played Scottish champions Rangers in a benefit match for the victims of the Holditch Colliery disaster, raising £2,000 for the relief fund. A good sized crowd saw an entertaining 0–0 draw.
The occasional seats give reasonable comfort, the doorways behind are wide, the boot has two good-sized fitted suitcases with the spare wheel below and its platform is designed to take 1½ cwt of extra luggage. The new engine has the extra refinement in running noticeable in the other new Austin units and shows much improvement on the former Twenty. The horn button and the signalling lever are on the top of the thin three-spoked steering wheel. The brake lever is inverted and under the dash.
Despite the All-Stars being a collection of former NBA players, and with Magic Johnson not playing due to a calf injury, the crowd was actually behind the All-Stars on the night. They were treated to a game that went into overtime with the All-Stars keeping their unbeaten record intact with a 97–94 win. Before the game Magic Johnson apologised to the fans from centre court for not being able to play and called the SEC "A good sized gym that they can be proud of".
The stadium was known as the Rochester and Chatham Sports Stadium when it first hosted greyhound racing on 1 June 1936. When it opened it in 1936 it became the 55th National Greyhound Racing Club licensed track that year. It had a course circumference of 455 yards and was described as a good sized course with long straights but fairly difficult turns proving difficult for wide runners but with a good run-in to the finish. There was an 'Outside Sumner' hare system and race distances of 275, 525, 480 and 700 yards.
The track was described as a good-sized track with a large, 440-yard circumference with long straights (100 yards) and a long run-in. With banked bends it was most suitable for wide runners and larger galloping types. The hare was an 'Inside Sumner', and 500, 525, 550 and 700 yards were the regular post war distances. There were very large kennel facilities for 126 greyhounds charged at £1, 1s per week, and in addition there was an isolation kennel block with veterinary care and a paddock kennel for race days.
LINCOLN generally rides a good-sized easy-going gray horse, is dressed in plain black, somewhat rusty and dusty; wears a black stiff hat, and looks about as ordinary in attire, &c.;, as the commonest man...I saw very plainly the President's dark brown face, with the deep cut lines, the eyes, &c.;, always to me with a deep latent sadness in the expression." Whitman quoted this article in his 1876 book Memoranda During the War, adding the phrase: "We have got so that we always exchange bows, and very cordial ones.

Situated in a rugged karst range near the city of Samcheok, the cave's 10 m tall entrance is a grueling 30 to 45 minute uphill hike from the ticket office, although it is also serviced by a monorail which takes 6 minutes. Once inside, the temperature varies between 10° and 14°C. The walls spout water from innumerable cracks and seeps, which join to make good-sized streams, waterfalls and ten large pools. Some rooms in the cave are vast, 100 m tall, and bridges have been built across chasms in them.
Such was her popularity in her native country that she also appeared in a 1937 film, La fille de la Madelon. Vallin worked with most of the leading French singers of her era, including the renowned tenor Georges Thill, whom she disliked. Her voice was that of a good-sized lyric soprano, well balanced but strongest in its middle and lower registers; but, at her peak, she was also capable of singing high coloratura, as recordings of arias by Bellini and Donizetti illustrate. Her tone was cool and clear, with exemplary enunciation.
In the absence of targets worthy of torpedoes, the submarine contented herself with the destruction of floating mines and with the sinking of two tiny trawlers on 28 March. Early on 3 April, an enemy bomber forced her to dive, and she ran submerged for the remainder of the day. That evening, she surfaced once again and soon made radar contact with a good-sized target. The fact the enemy ship carried radar, coupled with the appearance of a second target larger than the first, indicated she was some type of warship escorting a merchantman.
Amish buggy An Amish heritage corridor extends generally along the Great Shamokin Path through Clearfield, Jefferson, Indiana and Armstrong counties, beginning at Big Spring near Luthersburg, Clearfield County, and ending in Rural Valley in Armstrong County. The corridor winds through Amish settlements near the villages of Troutville in Clearfield County; Big Run, Cloe and Punxsutawney in Jefferson County; Smicksburg in Indiana County; and Rural Valley in Armstrong County. Amish buggies co-mingle with automobiles through the corridor. The Troutville Amish settlement in Brady Township, Clearfield County, is good-sized and has eight congregations.
An interesting note is that on 12 November, the day after the armistice, Lieutenant Hogan was assigned to ferry one of the squadron's new SPAD to the supply depot at Colombey-les-Belles, south of Toul. Losing his way through his unfamiliarity with the area, he followed a river that he supposed would take him home. After half an hours flying he knew he had lost his way so he landed on an airdrome near a good sized city on the river. He saw several German soldiers who he believed to be prisoners.
Diamond Jubilee Hall transferred from The Highland Council to the community in September 2011. Evanton Sports Centre (opposite Kiltearn Primary School) is the other public facility in the village that caters for various sporting activities such as badminton, basketball, football and tennis. Evanton also has a good sized park at Teandallon. In recent years a local group of parents and young people has worked with Highland Council and various funding bodies to install a multisport area, a BMX track and a Half-Pipe ramp, a new playpark for toddlers was added in 2007 by EYE.
Flora of North America In general, it is an erect plant growing up to 40 centimeters tall. The stem, leaves, bracts, and flowers can all be reddish to decidedly purple-red in color, and when a good-sized population is in bloom it can be spotted even from aircraft as a mark of red against an otherwise brownish hillside landscape. The inflorescence is a cluster of flowers surrounded by six red or purple bracts with hooked awns. The flower is a few millimeters across and is red or purple with a white or yellow throat.

A similar explanation was suggested by the former member of Hubble Space Telescope team, Phil Plait, who said that "it was almost certainly a good-sized rock burning up in our atmosphere". According to Plait, the object may have had a steep angle of entry. Sound from the meteor was reported in three districts of Kanchanaburi Province: Thong Pha Phum, Sai Yok and Si Sawat. Governor of Kanchanaburi Province Wan-chai Osukhonthip ordered police and Sai Yok National Park rangers to search Wang Krachae and Bong Ti subdistricts in Sai Yok District for meteor debris.
The Cheakamus River (pron. CHEEK-a-mus) is a tributary of the Squamish River, beginning on the west slopes of Outlier Peak in Garibaldi Provincial Park upstream from Cheakamus Lake on the southeastern outskirts of the resort area of Whistler. The river flows into Cheakamus Lake before exiting it and flowing northwest until it turns south and enters Daisy Lake. Between the outlet of Daisy Lake and its mouth, much of its length is spent going through Cheakamus Canyon, where the river flows through swift rapids and even one good sized waterfall.
The following is a description of a Narungga technique for catching snapper. > A good-sized fish being roasted, and tied up in a bundle of rushes, is > fastened round the neck of a strong swimmer, so that it hangs down his back. > With this he swims out to sea a mile or more, and then returns to the sandy > beach, the roasted fish still hanging behind him. When near the shore, the > swimmer attaches the fish to a spear stuck in the sand, where the water is > about three feet deep.
What is clear is that the meadow jumping mouse is capable of leaping a good sized distance compared to its body size. The initial leap of the jumping mouse when startled from a squatting position is long; the following hops are shorter but much more rapid. When not alarmed the normal locomotion method is little hops of one to six inches. The meadow jumping mouse is a decent swimmer, it usually will jump in when retreating from danger, or it was noticed as well to jump in when being set free.
It was in the wooded hills between the two towns that an iron pyrite outcrop was discovered and a mine developed by H.J. Davis around 1882. The eastern section of Rowe, called Davis, became the center of activity because of the profitable operation of Davis Sulfur Ore Mine for twenty-nine years. The Davis Mine supplied a major economic boost to both Rowe and Charlemont. A good-sized mining camp developed at the site, which included a blacksmith shop, butcher shop, electric lighting, and at least 150 homes.
The hot springs, located at a bend in the Limmat river near the legion camp at Vindonissa (today Windisch), were discovered around 20 AD. The hot (), mineral rich water was prized by the Romans and a settlement quickly developed around the springs. By the middle of the 1st century a good sized settlement surrounded the mineral baths. In 69 AD, during the Year of the Four Emperors, the XXI Legion burned the wooden vicus or settlement to the ground. Aquae Helveticae was rebuilt in stone in the following years.
" The population increased and the enjoyment of these activities easily expanded throughout the city. The arrival of the first transcontinental railway to Portland in 1883 made travel easier for performers, drawing more of them to the Portland area to satisfy demand. Throughout the city of Portland several different types of theaters were developed to best fit the varieties of plays and operas that were traveling to perform in the city. By the year 1890, "Portland had six good- sized theaters with a total seating capacity of about 6,200.
On the far North of the square stands a good sized golden concrete statue of Nepali poet Shri Bhanubhakta Acharya stood a brown granite plinth facing the open flat as if to watch over the souls who visit there. Initially, a 'bust above' statue of the Acharya was erected on 17 June 1949 and a full life sized figure reinstalled on 13 July 1996, commissioned by the Nepali Sahitya Sammelan. In 2014 a park located behind the statue (North) was developed into a stepped concrete platform to give way for public events.
Strongly influenced by this encounter, Cassel headed for New York City with just "$40 in his shoe, a pair of coveralls and a briefcase full of music". Upon reaching New York, Cassel began studying voice with Frank La Forge. Beginning in 1934, he began supporting himself by singing on the radio, including such programs as Air Breaks and Hammerstein's Music Hall. Unable to land work as an opera singer, Cassel tried his luck in Hollywood and managed to land a good sized supporting role in the 1937 film Wine, Women, and Horses which starred Barton MacLane and Ann Sheridan.
They are often disbudded, alike many other dairy goats. There are also some poll strains in the breed. A standard animal has a straight muzzle line, well- set eyes, erect ears, good-sized teats (female), lack of tassels (small flaps of skin, usually two, on the neck, however some British Alpines appear with tassels) and are overall a well-defined, neatly built goat. Their sleek black coat may lighten due to a lack of copper in the diet, which is one of the most essential minerals to all goats and the colour of the coat may indicate their copper intake.
10 William Comstock stayed in the home valley of the Spade Ranch headquarters, which is approximately north of Ellsworth. Comstock had a sod house at the headquarters, another soddie as a ranch office, a good-sized bunkhouse, the log cookhouse (the log building moved from the Newman Ranch), a barn, feed yards, large corrals for working with cattle, breaking horses, branding, and dipping cattle, a blacksmith shop, a machine shop and the ranch store. The ranch store featured staple groceries, clothing, supplies, and a place to pick up mail carried from the Ellsworth post office.Richards, Jr. 1980, p.
It was hoped that the club was set from a bright future and, with virtually everyone retained who had acquitted themselves so well in the war period, promotion was the target. Two Scottish players George Jarvis (from Celtic) and Jock Stirling (from Bradford Park Avenue) joined the forward ranks, whilst goalkeeper Tom Kay became first choice keeper and would go on to make 70 successive appearances. The 1919–20 season opened well with good sized crowds being entertained by a winning team. Stoke collected maximum points in eleven of the first 15 matches and they only failed to score in one.
The "chemical space" of all possible organic chemicals is large and increases exponentially with the size of the molecule. Most chemical libraries do not typically have a fully represented chemical space mostly because of storage and cost concerns. Because of the expense and effort involved in chemical synthesis, the chemicals must be correctly stored and banked away for later use to prevent early degradation. Each chemical has a particular shelf life and storage requirement and in a good-sized chemical library, there is a timetable by which library chemicals are disposed of and replaced on a regular basis.
It is estimated that this species attained an average height of and weighed approximately , larger than other good-sized fossil species such as Leptoptilos titan (and the aforementioned L. robustus). L. falconeri was taller than the tallest extant flying bird, the up to sarus crane, and substantially heavier than the heaviest flying birds such as condors, swans or large bustards. While the largest members of the bustard family can weigh up to perhaps or more, these largest living flying species average only around , about 45% less heavier on average than L. falconeri.Bridge, L. K., Stroud, D., Galbraith, C. A., & Boere, G. (2006).
This was a popular type of harvest juicer as it prepared the juice for immediate bottling in good sized batches. There is generally no need to strain or boil the juice after mechanical juicing and it could be operated over a wood stove in the rural countryside. They are still popular in Finland and elsewhere and have been marketed under various names (Mehu Maija, MehuLiisa, MehuMatti, Krona) by various manufacturers (OY Alu AB, Hackmann, Opa, Victorio, Lehmann, Norpro) over the years. The same style of juicer has also been historically made in Germany and Portugal and now in China.
A thick layer of mulch and several good sized rocks over the roots slows summer moisture loss. In gardens it prefers regular light watering (1x every 2 weeks) over the first summer after planting, After established, it should survive the dry months with no supplemental water, though it can usually handle summer watering up to once per month for its first 2–3 years. The plant prefers to have its leaves in full sun, but likes its roots in the shade, and does best on north facing slopes. Coyote scat is a good source of fertile seed.
A follow-up to the 1956 episode "Our Unsung Villains", this updated version was used to showcase Madame Medusa, the newest villainess in the then upcoming animated film, The Rescuers. Hans Conried reprises his role as the Magic Mirror from "Our Unsung Villains" and other television specials to host the program. The Magic Mirror explains the importance of villains and introduces clips of various Disney villains while also providing biased, yet humorous, commentary. Most of the villains received a good-sized clip from their respective films, although some were featured in very brief 30-second segments.
Plumage is attractively marked and the male has a beautiful silver hackle striped with black as is the neck, back, saddle and wing feathers, while the rest of the plumage is black. The hen's hackle is similar to the cockerels but she has an otherwise rich black feathering all over apart from the throat which is silver laced. They can produce a good-sized carcass for meat production if they are allowed to mature slowly and are regulars at shows where they win prizes. The Norfolk Grey is an excellent forager and does well when free ranging.
The theatre was criticised by New York Times critic Harold C. Schonberg because, to accommodate a performance of Luigi Dallapiccola's contemporary opera Il prigioniero, about a third of L'Orfeo was cut. Schonberg wrote: "Even the biggest aria in the opera, 'Possente spirito', has a good-sized slash in the middle ... [L'Orfeo] is long enough, and important enough, not to mention beautiful enough, to have been the entire evening's opera." By the latter part of the 20th century the opera was being shown all over the world. In 1965, Sadler's Wells, forerunner of English National Opera (ENO), staged the first of many ENO presentations which would continue into the 21st century.
A miner would use his broom to sweep dust and rock fragments from surface exposures of slate and collect it in the tin dish. Once his dish was "about half full of dirt", the miner would stand "with his back or side to the wind ... and begin throwing the stuff up and catching it, or sometimes slowly pouring it from one dish to another", allowing the wind to carry away the less dense particles, leaving the gold behind in the dish. This process required "very dry surface dirt." When "good sized nuggets" were found, they were removed from the dish before the remaining material was processed.
According to Gantz, p 446: "In all, the account rather suggests that the huge bulk of Antiphates' wife is not typical of the Laistrygones as a whole. But they are clearly thought of as good-sized, although whether it is in this respect that they are like the Gigantes and unlike men we cannot say; the Odyssey's emphasis might be thought to fall more on their uncivilized behjavior" Over time, descriptions of the Giants make them less human, more monstrous and more "gigantic". According to Apollodorus the Giants had great size and strength, a frightening appearance, with long hair and beards and scaly feet.Apollodorus, 1.6.1.

On Tuesday, February 2, 1875, Alice hit a snag near Wheatland, and sustained damage so severe that it was necessary to beach the steamer. Early reports were not able to give the extent of the damage. Some details of the incident were reported to the States Rights Democrat, by their travelling agent, J.M. Marks, and they were that the Alice had been proceeding on the river at a good rate of speed, when about a mile and a half downriver from Buena Vista, the steamer hit a snag, which shoved a good-sized hole into its hull just under the boiler. Buena Vista was 21 miles upriver from Salem.
A sensitivity analysis was applied to this database to obtain the most significant factors on the variability of the energy demand calculations. Standardised Regression Coefficients and Standardised Rank Regression Coefficients were used to compare the impacts of the uncertainties. De Wilde and Tian agreed with Hopfe on the impact of uncertainties in the infiltration over energy calculations, but also introduced other factors, including uncertainties in: weather, U-Value of windows, and other variables related with occupants’ behaviour (equipment and lighting). Their paper compares many of the uncertainties with a good sized database providing a realistic comparison for the scope of the sampling of the uncertainties.
Usually it is a warehouse buildings, divided into two levels, with support in the perimeter walls and in one or two pillars of the watershed of the roof. Are built on good-sized masonry, with limestone of the place, with roofs of slate flagstones. The access to ground floor, used as a stable for animals, is made directly from the field level by a door with wooden lintel. The upper floor, usually entitled to housing or warehouse, usually accessed through a Patín, consistent, in the most ancient examples, in a step ladder of slab, with a terrace or landing, which is usually covered with an extension of the eaves cover.
Beni-Na'ïm est un village en ce moment presque entièrement désert, car la plupart des habitants ont quitté leurs masons pour aller vivre, sous la tente, de la vie nomade, et tâcher d'échapper ainsi à la loi du recrutement militaire. He found them living in a tent village one kilometer away, ready to flee to the desert if an attempt was made to enlist them. However, in 1874 the PEF's Survey of Western Palestine (SWP) described it as "a good-sized village" bordered by olive groves to the south and west with many structures built out of ancient materials.Conder and Kitchener, 1883, SWP III, p.
It contained "about twelve hundred houses, all established along the bank of another good-sized river which flowed into the large one [the Arkansas].... the settlement of the Rayados seemed typical of those seen by Coronado in Quivira in the 1540s. The homesteads were dispersed; the houses round, thatched with grass, large enough to sleep ten persons each, and surrounded by large granaries to store the corn, beans, and squash they grew in their fields." With difficulty Oñate restrained the Escanjaques from looting the town and sent them home. The next day the Oñate expedition proceeded onward for another eight miles through heavily populated territory, although without seeing many Rayados.
The river goes on under a good many small communities located up on the flanks of the hills before reaching the next good-sized town on it, Travo, and then Rivergaro. Here the val ends. It widens and merges with the Pianura Padana, "plain of the Po", beyond Rivergaro and a few miles later encounters the suburban communities on the west side of Piacenza before entering the Po. Geologically the course of the lower Trebbia and that of the Po is unstable except where stabilized by man. Nearly the whole course of the river is paralleled by the Strada statale della Val Trebbia, highway SS45, running between Piacenza and Genoa.
Evergreen trees such as pines are supported by the sandy soil of Parvis Road in the west, an uneroded upcrop of the Bagshot Formation The surface undulates gently from the west to the east, where West Byfleet's land is drained in the parish of Byfleet itself by the River Wey. Soil ranges from sandy acidic soil in the west to more alluvial soil in the east, underlain by a mixture of gravel and clay. Elevations range from 18m Above Ordnance Datum to 33m. Old Avenue has been designated a Conservation Area due its Arcadian environment of substantial family homes of interesting architecture and still good sized gardens.
Cecil Rawling wrote of it as he saw it during the British expedition to Tibet: > It was poor enough in all conscience, considering that it is the capital of > Western Tibet, and that the Garpons reside here for about three months in > the year, at which time it becomes a busy centre of commerce. Gartok only > boasts of three good sized houses and twelve miserable hovels. ... Gartok in > reality consists of two distinct places situated forty miles apart. Similar names in the region include Durlston Bay and Durlston Head further east, where a coastal stack suggests the existence of an earlier arch, and the Thurlestone, an arched rock in the neighbouring county of Devon to the west. The Door part of the name probably maintains its modern meaning, referring to the arched shape of the rock; in the late 19th century there is reference to it being called the "Barn-door", and it is described as being "sufficiently high for a good-sized sailing boat to pass through it." People on the beach show the scale of the arch. The Isle of Portland can be seen on the horizon.
The western lowland gorilla family has been represented at Durrell since it first opened in 1959, when they had only an infant female (thought to be male at first) gorilla named N'Pongo, who was later joined by a younger infant female gorilla named Nandi, and continue today to be one of the icons of the park. The current enclosure includes a good sized outdoor play area, and three internal rooms, two large on-show ones and a smaller off-show one. The current family of five is led by a silverback called Badongo, who was born in La Vallée des Singes. Badongo is the successor of Ya Kwanza.
It weighed probably less than 50 kg--slightly more than a large emu--and more than 10 kg--slightly more than the largest living storks (which reach over 150 cm in height) and the shoebill. Adult kori bustard (Ardeotis kori). Perhaps, E. eocaenus was only as heavy as this bird The general limit for weight in flying birds is at about 25 kg, the exceptional Argentavis magnificens with its size and weight of a good-sized adult human notwithstanding as it evolved under unusual ecological conditions. Large males of the kori bustard (Ardeotis kori) and great bustard (Otis tarda) are perfectly capable of flight, while weighing in excess of 20 kg.

Fistral Beach showing the beach bar setup ready for the 2010 Boardmasters Festival The resort is widely regarded as the surf capital of the UK. Newquay is a centre for the surf industry in Britain,The Surfing Tribe - a History of Surfing in Britain by Roger Mansfield (chapter 3) with many surf stores, board manufacturers and hire shops in the town. At the centre of Newquay's surfing status is Fistral Beach which has a reputation as one of the best beach breaks in Cornwall. Fistral is capable of producing powerful, hollow waves and holding a good sized swell. Fistral Beach has been host to international surfing competitions for around 20 years now.
Its drainage area is about , and its valley penetrates the Coast Range for a distance of about . From the south, there are several good-sized tributaries, and the uppermost of these side valleys contains a large glacier, which merges with the ice from the head of the main valley and extends to a point only from the mouth of the creek. The valley is a deep one, the surrounding Blackerby and Heintzleman Ridges rising to , with peaks above in the headwater region. The stream bed lies north of the central line of the valley, and on this side the tributaries are closely spaced and their channels only slightly incised in the mountain flank.
On July 23, 1864, the Pittsburgh Gazette newspaper reported "Juveniles, aged from ten to fifteen years, were amusing themselves today in crawling into the bore on their hands and knees. GameSpot gave a similar review to IGN, giving the game a 7.5 out of 10 overall. GameSpot commented that the game's "unique capturing system", "good-sized quest" and "attractive 2D graphics and animation" were the games good points while also commenting that issues such as possible scratching of the touch screen during capture and "basic exploration sequences" were the games notable bad points. While discussing the mixed quality of Pokémon spin-offs, Retronauts podcaster Jeremy Parish cited Pokémon Ranger as an example, with Parish later referring to it as "crappy". He cites the dialogue and story, commenting that while Pokémon was a kiddy game, the writing in Ranger is worse than in the main games.
In 1857 Archbishop Polding founded the first Australian order of nuns, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict. The sisters had been looking for a home to look after the growing number of orphaned and neglected children, and in 1880 they heard of a good sized estate at Manly, then unoccupied and in disrepair. It proved an ideal spot and in 1881 was blessed as the Star of the Sea Convent and the Good Samaritan Sisters moved in and set up a school for them. The sisters taught normal school subjects up to the age of 14, then trained in skills that would enable them to earn a living – mostly sewing and laundry.
Else, Gerald F. Aristotle Poetics. University of Michigan > Press (1967). p. 32. Aristotle considers length or time in a distinction between the epic and tragedy: > Well then, epic poetry followed in the wake of tragedy up to the point of > being a (1) good-sized (2) imitation (3) in verse (4) of people who are to > be taken seriously; but in its having its verse unmixed with any other and > being narrative in character, there they differ. Further, so far as its > length is concerned tragedy tries as hard as it can to exist during a single > daylight period, or to vary but little, while the epic is not limited in its > time and so differs in that respect.Aristotle.
The dwarf cassowary (Casuarius bennetti) is one of the few ratites with toes as splayed as (but still less mobile than) E. eocaenus As regards the length and stoutness of the lower leg and the foot, E. eocaenus would probably have been similar to a good-sized American rhea (Rhea americana) in measurements. Its toes, however, differed vastly in shape and posture from those of this ratite (and most other birds). Above the tibiotarsal trochleae of the African bird, the bone was considerably wider than the ankle, among ratites being matched by some moa and the dwarf cassowary (Casuarius bennetti). Thus, towards its toes the midfoot bone must have flared outwards, resulting in an overall wide-footed appearance.
In 1826, Florence Nightingale's father William Nightingale purchased Embley Park house for the family to use as a permanent residence with Lea Hurst being used as a summer residence. The house was the larger of the two and was described as: > a good-sized plain square house of the late Georgian period, the situation > warm and sheltered, the gardens very large and exceptionally fine. The > shooting was good, London was reasonably near, and Fanny’s two married > sisters, Mrs Nicholson at Waverley Abbey near Farnham and Mrs Bonham-Carter > at Fair Oak, near Winchester, were within easy reach. Nightingale claimed she had received her first divine calling from God in 1837 at Embley whilst she sat underneath a tree in the grounds.
He earned full playing privileges on the Ben Hogan Tour (now the Korn Ferry Tour) for 1990, winning the qualifying tournament for the new circuit early that year. He then won two Sunshine Tour events early in 1990, one in South Africa (where he edged David Feherty), and one in Swaziland (where established veteran champion John Bland placed second). This was encouraging for Daly to win good-caliber events, defeat more experienced and well-established international professionals, and play before good-sized galleries which appreciated his performances. He then won the 1990 Ben Hogan Utah Classic, and completed a fine year by finishing T-12 at the 1990 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament, earning 1991 PGA Tour privileges on his fourth attempt.
Not only can a location library find the location for a shoot, but it can help with permits for parking and filming. Location libraries are not just a location resource for TV and film, they are also a database of photogenic location houses, apartments, industrial and event spaces for editorial publications, stills advertising photo shoots and PR shots for brands and celebrities. Property owners can register their properties with a location library to be considered as locations for commercial hire. Requirements for any location are that it has good-sized rooms, large enough to comfortably fit a photographic crew of around 10–15 people, natural light, interesting features, décor, style of property and furniture will play a role in a property being eligible as a location property.
The aim was to provide racing for existing fans and attract new fans to the sport, raising its profile as a sport in United Kingdom. It was also intended to give British riders the opportunity to take part in high quality racing during the winter. It was decided that the series would consist of four events throughout the season. Admission costs were fixed at an affordable level, originally £8 for an adult ticket, in order to enable families to attend. Family tickets were available for around £20, making the Revolution a considerably more affordable event to attend in comparison to other sports, such as football. The first event was held in October 2003 and was attended by a good sized crowd.
The northern coast is indented by the four good-sized bays, Haka Ehu, Haka Ea (also called Haka Pua), Aa Kapa, and Haume. The southern coast is, like the western coast, characterized by steep slopes, and even cliffs, that plunge into the sea. These are broken by a succession of bays, the deep bay of Haka Ui in the southwest, with its neighboring bay Ua Uka, and near the center of the southern coast, Haa o Tupa, just west of the deep bay of Tai o Hae, location of the island's chief town, of the same name. To the east of Tai o Hae is a peninsula on the east side of which are the two small valleys of Haka Puu Vae and Haka Paa.
However, good-sized female golden eagles are up to twice as heavy as an average eagle-owl, so seem to have a considerable advantage in size and power. Conversely, to support their large size and large territory needs, the golden eagle cannot survive on small and diverse prey nearly as successfully as the eagle-owl. Among the Iberian peninsula rabbit-eating guild, the species with wider ranges, the eagle-owl and the golden and Bonelli's eagles, have had some degree of success living off of alternate prey following the devastation of the rabbit population due to rabbit haemorrhagic disease. The two rabbit predators endemic to Iberia, the Iberian lynx and Spanish imperial eagle, have been devastated by the reduction and other causes and both are threatened species today.Delibes, M., Rodríguez, A., & Ferreras, P. (2000).
Yeasayer's acclaimed debut studio album, All Hour Cymbals, was released in 2007 by independent label We Are Free. The band followed its success by co- headlining a tour with synthpop duo MGMT and by part-producing and playing bass guitar on Bat for Lashes' Two Suns, a dream pop record released in 2009. The same year, a new Yeasayer track, "Tightrope", was used in Red Hot Organization's Dark Was the Night compilation in support of HIV/AIDS sufferers, while vocalist and keyboardist Chris Keating sang and co-wrote Simian Mobile Disco's single "Audacity of Huge", from the band's electronic record Temporary Pleasure. Backed by a new good-sized independent label, Secretly Canadian, and a bigger recording budget, Yeasayer started work on a second studio album in February 2009.
One is on Shingle Cabin Brook as it enters Kitchen Creek just south of Waters Meet; the other, Kitchen Creek Falls, is directly below the PA 118 highway bridge, which obscures much of the view. There are also several unnamed falls in the park, such as a good-sized unnamed waterfall on a tributary of the Ganoga Glen branch of Kitchen Creek, or the "forgotten falls" on the South Branch Bowman Creek. The Falls Trail includes the trails through the glens, plus the Highland Trail, which connects the top ends of Ganoga Glen and Glen Leigh to form a triangular loop, and passes through the "Midway Crevasse," a crack in Pocono Formation rock. All but two of the named waterfalls are either on the triangular loop or south of it.
This was designed and manufactured by the Royal Ordnance Factories in early 1915 and introduced along with the 1.57-inch mortar in March 1915. It incorporated what was known of the German prewar Krupp mortar.Ministry of Munitions 1922, page 37 This was the first design to meet all the requirements, after modifications to simplify manufacture; it fired a good-sized spherical cast-iron bomb of 42 pounds (total projectile weight 51 pounds with stick and fuze), considered the largest practical size for use from trenches, at ranges from 100 to 600 yards using a simple 2-inch tube as the mortar body. The mortar and ammunition could be cheaply manufactured by small unsophisticated "trade" workshops; the bomb was safely detonated by a standard No. 80 "time and percussion" artillery fuze.
Notable citizens were often celebrated with lavish banquets at the hotel. Wednesday evenings eventually were designated as the night for special entertainment occasions. The Los Angeles Herald newspaper frequently announced these occasions to entice visitors to the Hotel. Many of the events were symbolic of the idyllic culture at the turn of the century and included a noted harpist, Miss Avice Boxall, who in 1901, entertained a “good-sized audience”. In an edition of the Los Angeles Herald from August 1904, it noted that "Fresno residents, Miss Alberta C. Harkley and Miss Helen Archer, performed a high class comedy sketch called “The New French Maid” much to the pleasure of Hotel Redondo guests." Again, the LA Herald, In September 18, 1904, announced a “six-hand euchre party” hosted by Mrs.
"Picking Cotton" is one of Erskine Caldwell's earlier short stories, included in We Are the Living (1933), conspicuous for its humorous treatment of the theme—highly controversial, and illegal in a lot of the United States at the time of writing—of inter-racial sex. The story begins with a detailed description of working conditions during the cotton-picking season, on Donnie Williams' farm. Workers prefer the Williamses to other farmers, despite the fact that they pay thirty five cents for hundred pounds while other farmers may offer forty or even fifty cents; this, because the Williamses are unique in offering at dinner "a free, good sized watermelon, for every man, woman and child"—an obvious attraction to those having to do hard work under the hot sun. Both whites and blacks are employed on the Williams Farm, with no segregation or discrimination.
Fontecchio is a good sized small forward that has in the past played as a Shooting guard, he has a solid though developing all-round game and is active off the ball. More of a threat from outside the paint, where he can unleash his technically sound if inconsistent jump shot, he struggles more on post play due to a lack of upper body strength. Despite this, he is quite athletic, particularly in leg strength and can run the lanes well in offense or use his length to get past his defender, however he doesn't use these assets enough in rebounding. On the defensive end he always puts in the effort, not afraid the mark the opposition's star, he can stay in front of smaller, quicker players with his length but needs to be more aggressive.
The election of 1908 saw the arrival in Oregon of Presidential candidate Eugene Debs aboard the so-called "Red Special," a train chartered by the Socialist Party and taken from station to station around the country for campaign speeches on the fly. The train made several stops in Oregon on September 14, energizing the state's party members. Speaking in Eugene, Debs declared "I am the candidate of the workingmen, and don't expect the votes of any capitalists.""Socialist Candidate for President Talks to a Good Sized Crowd," Eugene Daily Guard, vol. 35, no. 208 (September 14, 1908), pp. 1, 5. An enthusiastic crowd was addressed in Albany, with Debs asserting that the two old parties each represented the capitalists rather than the people and that the Republican Party had fulfilled its historic mission by freeing the slaves, subsequently becoming a political organization of the plutocracy.
Leg bones It is sometimes assumed that Leguat mentioned this bird in his 1708 memoir, but this seems to be in error; Julien Tafforet gave a good description in 1726, however. The Rodrigues bird, which Tafforet compared to the petit-duc, the Eurasian scops owl (and not, as often assumed to the little owl, the chouette chevêche), was more arboreal than its congeners and fed on small birds and "lizards" (small specimens of the Rodrigues day gecko and the Rodrigues giant day gecko). A monotonous call was given in good weather. Considering the bird's likely relationships as evidenced by the subfossil bones discovered later, and the detailed description of the related Mauritius owl, the Rodriguez bird was as large as a good-sized Australian boobook, with females reaching the size of a long-eared owl, and had ear tufts like an Otus owl and nearly naked legs.
Clearly Cleveland's time as potential port or colonial capital had passed, despite the efforts and expenditure by Bigge and others. The writer claimed, possibly erroneously, that Cassim's Hotel was very isolated, the nearest resident being a fellmonger, upon a creek four miles off. It is possible that a number of residences had been abandoned or were used only as summer houses. An unsourced item probably dating from the early 1870s, held by the Royal Historical Society of Queensland, describes standing on a comparatively high background where there were two hotels and a few small cottages, and from there "a track sloped a short distance ... to the lighthouse ... Descending the slope, the first private dwelling on the right was a good-sized cottage, built and owned by Mr Bigge, who a few years previously had returned to England, whereupon his Cleveland retreat was much in favour with certain Brisbane families".
Early in September 1912, Draper and his wife moved back east to Washington, D.C. Draper was one of about eight young medical officers selected for the refresher course at the Hygienic Laboratory, forerunner of the National Institutes of Health. Students who were successful in the course and showed an aptitude for research could spend several years or even a career doing scientific research. This appealed to Draper at this point in his life since he had just spent two years traveling extensively, and with a pregnant wife he liked the prospect of settling down in one place for a while. However, this assignment would be short-lived for Draper, for a reason best put into his own words: > There was in the laboratory a large tank of good-sized turtles being used > experimentally to test the claims of a commercially minded enthusiast who > wanted to market a turtle vaccine to immunize humans against tuberculosis.
The Royal Palace of Évora has its origins in the Convent and College of São Francisco, built before the reign of King Afonso IV. The convent's first royal function was in 1336, when Prince Pedro of Portugal celebrated his divorce of Constanza Manuel, which put the convent on royal notice. In 1387, King John I took the first step in transforming the convent to a palace, when he ordered that two chambers, and antechamber, an inn, servants houses, a well, and an orange grove all be built at the convent, and evicted resident Franciscans from certain wings of the convent turned palace. While he turned the convent into a good sized palace, it was a personal palace, not a royal one, only for the use of the King, his Queen, and their children. In 1470, King Afonso V raised the Palace of São Francisco, as it was known at the time, to the level of a royal palace.
Born in Utah but raised in Riverside, California, Boren was interested in both underwater diving and photography. He built his own helmet as a teenager and in 1943 became a member of the San Diego Bottom Scratchers Diving Club. Membership of the club required Boren to dive 30 feet, capture three abalone in one dive, grab a five-foot horn shark by the tail and bring up a "good sized" lobster.p. 327 Hanauer, Eric Diving Pioneers: An Oral History of Diving in America Aqua Quest Publications, Inc., 1994 He constructed a case for his 16mm camera to film underwater and in 1952 built a 35mm underwater camera that led him to begin his feature film career shooting the undersea sequences for Underwater! (1955).pp.92-95 Hartley, William and Ellen Adventures of an Underwater Cameraman Popular Mechanics September 1966 His next film Underwater Warrior (1958) was about a fellow diver Commandeer Francis Fane who Boren had known in Coronado.
The forewings are whitish beige to pale orange brown, with scattered darker brown scales. There are dark-brown to greyish-brown markings in the form of a large basal triangle interrupted near the middle by small paler spot, a medium-sized spot along the costa at about one-third sometimes enclosing a darker and smaller subcostal spot, a costal line between the basal triangle and the costal spot at one-third, a small spot at two-fifths along the midline, a dark medium-sized spot along the cubital fold at about one-third sometimes connected to a rather large but paler area along the inner margin, a good-sized usually greyish-brown costal spot at three-fifths sometimes connected to a small dark-brown spot below near the middle, the latter sometimes connected to the inner margin by more brown scales, the apical one-fifth mostly greyish brown, sometimes with scattered paler scales and sometimes with a series of small spots terminally along the apex and outer margin. The hindwings are pale greyish brown. Adults are on wing from January to May and again from September to December.
The former Dixie Academy building in St. George, the original home of St. George Stake Academy The institution was founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) on September 19, 1911, as St. George Stake Academy. In 1916, the academy, located in a region called "Utah's Dixie" by Brigham Young and local settlers,Larson, Andrew (1992). I Was Called to "Dixie:" The Virgin River Basin: Unique Experiences on Mormon Pioneering. Dixie College Foundation St. George, Utah. p. 185. became Dixie Normal College, and then, in 1923, the name was changed to Dixie Junior College. In 1933, the LDS Church discontinued its support of the college, and rather than give up on it, the local citizenry came together and maintained the school's operation through donations and labor for two years. In 1935, the State Board of Education took over the funding for the school, but wanted to split the college students from the high school students, with the high school moving under the direction of Washington County. The community resisted, feeling that the approximate 200 college students and similar number of high school students needed to be combined to provide a good-sized student body for the many social and academic programs.
