Drowse—the solo project of Portland drone/shoegaze artist Kyle Bates—has been captivating us for a minute now with his sonic world-building.

Before forming Drowse, Bates played in local bands and recorded music on his laptop. In 2011 Bates experienced a dissociative mental breakdown that would inform the first few Drowse releases. In 2013 he released an EP, Songs to Sleep On through Television Records and began performing live with help from various Portland musicians. Drowse released its debut album Soon Asleep through Apneic Void Sounds in 2015.

Drowse has shared the stage with a wide range of musical acts, including Planning for Burial and King Woman.

The album featured Portland based singer Tuesday Faust. Following the release of Soon Asleep, Drowse recorded music that was contributed to Miserable's 2016 album, Uncontrollable. In 2016 Drowse released an EP titled Memory Bed through New York based label The Native Sound. Memory Bed featured vocal and lyrical collaborations with Maya Stoner.

A mix of "Long Away", "Drowse", and "Tie Your Mother Down" was created on 9 November 1976. On 16 November 1976, copies of "You and I", and "The Millionaire Waltz" were created. After one or two mastering sessions, A Day at the Races was completed on 19 November 1976.

Fred moves to Drowse and receives Nora's letter: she will not come and will be going with her husband to America. Fred retreats from life and lives like a recluse. Eight years later Nora visits him and announces that she had a son from him. Fred wants to see him but Nora leaves abruptly.

This is a boxed set of three separate books. The set of three books cover three different characters and their dreams. The dreams are entitled "Of Night and Of Flight", "Of Dragons and Drowse" and "Of Sheep and of Sleep". The books unfold in an accordion style and when completely unfurled present themselves as a single polyptych image.

In 1959, Westclox introduced and patented its "drowse" alarm, which was one of the first of its kind powered by electricity, which integrated what is now more commonly known as a "snooze" function. Talley Industries acquired General Time in 1968. Westclox introduced its first quartz movement in 1972. In 1988, the management of Talley Industries purchased General Time from the company.

The Native Sound is an independent record label based in New York City. It was founded in 2013 by Julio Anta. The label has released a number of dream pop, shoegaze and folk music releases on cassette tape, limited edition vinyl, and digital download. The label's roster includes John Vanderslice, Andrew Koji Shiraki, Miserable, King Woman, Funeral Advantage, Plastic Flowers, Sheer, Drowse and Vow.

Drowse signed to The Flenser to release sophomore album Cold Air in 2018. Directly after the release Bates became an artist in residence in Skagaströnd, Iceland, resulting in new work including Fog Storm pts. 1-4, released as a split with Planning For Burial. Light Mirror, Drowse's second album for The Flenser, was announced for release in 2019–it features material recorded in Iceland and at home.

In his dream he sprouts wings, falls asleep and wakes up to find that he has hands again. "Of Dragons and Drowse" This dream features a young boy asleep on the couch - he awakes to a strange cat-like red dragon flying by the window. He crawls out of his window onto the tail of the beast. The dragon delivers him home and he slowly floats back onto the couch.

"Drowse" was Roger Taylor's song in 6/8 having him playing rhythm guitar and timpani and doing all of the vocals. May played slide guitar during this and "Tie Your Mother Down" (the second guitar solo in the middle of the song). Taylor's song on the previous album, "I'm In Love With My Car", was also in 6/8. The song has never been performed live but was rehearsed by Queen + Adam Lambert before their Rock Big Ben Live concert.

Queen entered The Manor in July 1976 to commence work on A Day At The Races. Absent was Roy Thomas Baker, who had helped the band produce their last four albums. By the end of July, Queen had recorded the basic track for six songs, "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy", "The Millionaire Waltz", "You Take My Breath Away", "Simple Man" (White Man), "Drowse", and "Somebody To Love" (Shorter version without the handclap section and beyond). Queen returned to the studio in late September to finish the album.

A week later a second concert at the Vector Arena was announced. On 29 September 2014, Queen and Lambert announced a European leg of the tour, including two concerts at The O2 in London on 17 and 18 January 2015. Three special performances were played for X FACTOR UK, Helene Fischer Show on 25 December 2014, & New Year's Eve at Westminster Hall where they played Drowse for the first time at the rehearsals, London on 31 December 2014. The 85,000 tickets for each night of Rock In Rio sold out in just 3 hours.

In it, Burna Boy is seen lying asleep on a palm frond, somewhere in the land of warriors, kings and queens, he is then woken from his drowse by a gorilla and ambushed by some warriors dressed in traditional attire, before turning into a celebration where both the warriors and the singer began dancing. Burna Boy is dressed as a warrior and hailed a champion.
