I wanted to make use of both, and to do this I provided a glossary of 10 fabulously expressive Scots words used today (bauchle, blether, dreich, fankle, gallus, mooch, pockle, slitter, wabbit, wheescht), but also spoke to the class about how they spoke and what regional phrases they had in their armory.

It shows that terms such as crabbit and blether are used daily, while glaikit, for someone stupid, remains in common usage.

Bailie's nomination for Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People was approved by Scottish Parliament on 22 April 2009, after an interview process which included children and young people as well as Members of the Scottish Parliament. In September 2010, he launched "The Right Blether", a consultation to gather views, ideas and advice from youngsters to inform a national vote in November. Around 74,000 school-age children and young people took part in the national vote. The following year Baillie launched another consultation "A Right Wee Blether" intended to allow very young children to express ideas.

On 10 February 2011 he was reappointed for a second term, to serve until May 2017. A further consultation exercise, "A Baby Blether", asking parents to express views on behalf of their children aged up to two years, was launched before Baillie's second term finished.

Hagg Lane siding, near the village of Belton, was next, from where John Blether agreed to forward 2,500 tons per year. Using Army-surplus equipment from the First World War, he built of gauge tramway in 1920 to bring produce from his farm to the sidings. The length of track was gradually extended to , and the wagons were pulled by horses. Usage declined after the Second World War, and the tramway was closed in 1953.

The album, which is meant to be read as an "operetta in three acts", is set in Bohemia, in the year of 1913, and tells the story of Atrament, a young wandering occultist who just arrives in the village of Jilemnice with the intent of furthering his studies on the occult arts there (since at the time the village was a major venue for occultists and Spiritist mediums). He settles at an inn ran by the rich landlord Spiritus, and falls in love at first sight with his beautiful daughter, Kalamaria (who is secretly a witch), being requited. However, the village's hejtman (captain), Satrapold, also loves Kalamaria, and after injustly arresting Atrament, he kidnaps Kalamaria with the help of his groom Blether and takes her to his castle. Satrapold plans to escape to Cairo with her (betraying Blether in the process, who flees to the nearby town of Železný Brod in disgrace, never to be seen or heard from again), but before he is able to do so she uses her mystical powers to discover that he is actually the villainous Poebeldorf under disguise, and that the real Satrapold was also imprisoned by him.

Baillie was appointed in May 2009 after an interview process which included children and young people as well as Members of the Scottish Parliament. In 2009, the Commissioner's office began to plan a national consultation of children and young people in Scotland called 'a RIGHT blether'. As part of the consultation there was a national vote in which children and young people were able to influence the Commissioner's office's work plan for the next four years. Children and young people were able to vote on what they thought the Commissioner should take action on in four key areas: Where I live, where I learn and develop, My neighbourhood or community and Scotland.
