Doing so may signal that the judge has doubts about the soundness of the majority opinion, but not so grave as to merit dissent.

He further advocates for the use of English because it is utilized in sermons.

The emphasis on coercive behaviour does not encapsulate the full range of state practices: in the case of Niger, the government 'benefits from a degree of international legitimacy and support' and is particularly aid dependent. Besides coercion, states may engage in cooperative migration diplomacy, namely 'the promise or act by a state, or coalition of states, to affect either migration flows to/from a target state or its migrant stock as a reward, provided that the target state acquiesces to an articulated political or economic demand.' Cooperative migration diplomacy is predicated upon interstate bargaining explicitly aiming for mutually beneficial arrangements in the absence of aggression.

Joe is a mechanic who dominates and abuses his wife, Charity, and their ten-year-old son, Brett. Charity wins a $5,000 lottery prize and uses the proceeds to trick Joe into allowing her to take Brett on a trip to visit Charity's sister, Holly, in Connecticut. Joe acquiesces and secretly plans to use the time to take a pleasure trip to Boston with his friend and alcoholic retired vet neighbor, Gary Pervier. While the Cambers are getting ready for their respective trips, their dog Cujo, a large good-natured Saint Bernard, chases a wild rabbit in the fields around their house and inserts his head in the entrance to a small limestone cave.
The seamstress is the last person Sydney Carton speaks to before his death and acts as a powerful love interest for him in their final moments. Through her character, Dickens provides hope and closure to the story of Sydney Carton as he subjects the reader to believe that they will be together in the afterlife. After she realizes that Carton has sacrificed himself for Darnay, she calls him "brave and generous", the sole character of the book to overtly do so (other characters have only alluded to his potential for goodness). She asks Sydney Carton to hold her hand as she rides with him to the guillotine, a request to which he readily acquiesces.
For Foucault, biopower is a technology of power for managing humans in large groups; the distinctive quality of this political technology is that it allows for the control of entire populations. It refers to the control of human bodies through an anatomo-politics of the human body and biopolitics of the population through societal Disciplinary institutions. Initially imposed from outside, whose source remains elusive to further investigation both by the social sciences and the humanities, and in fact, you could argue will remain elusive as long as both disciplines use their current research methods. Modern power, according to Foucault's analysis, becomes encoded into social practices as well as human behavior, as the human subject gradually acquiesces to subtle regulations and expectations of the social order.
In the fifth-season premiere, "Weight Loss," it is revealed that Phyllis has parlayed her secret knowledge of Dwight and Angela's renewed affair into the head spot on party-planning committee, which allows a role reversal in the group's meetings; Phyllis is shown calling the shots about party details, to which Angela quietly, if grudgingly, acquiesces. In "Baby Shower" Phyllis gloats further about gaining the party- planning spot, and specifically about having Angela at her mercy. Michael, however, interrupts her interview with the documentary crew and orders her to "make the party" for Jan Levenson, haranguing her to blow up balloons faster. In "Crime Aid", Phyllis attempts to counsel Dwight on reuniting with Angela, suggesting he give her an ultimatum to break up with Andy.
However, the mischievous Zawisch cuts the ropes of the tent, revealing Ottokar on his knees before his enemy, to all in attendance, including his own army. Ottokar then goes into hiding for two weeks, before returning to Prague weakened and in shame. On his return, representatives of the Emperor arrive demanding the release of a number of prisoners, one of the conditions of the peace treaty. At first Ottokar acquiesces, however on seeing Merenberg among the prisoners, his anger is piqued, and instead he tears up the treaty and demands that Merenberg be executed as a traitor, for his role in communicating the letter to the Archbishop of Mainz, and act which Ottokar considers to have been the starting point of all the subsequent betrayals.
A few months later, Cheney acquiesces to his daughter Liz's saying she is opposed to same-sex marriage when she runs for a Senate seat in Wyoming, leaving Mary upset. Liz later wins the election to her father's former Congressional position. At the end of the film, an irate Cheney breaks the fourth wall and delivers a monologue to the audience, stating that he has no regrets about anything he has done in his career. A mid-credits scene depicts a focus group descending into chaos when a conservative panelist slams the film itself as biased and attacks a liberal panelist who defends the movie and insults him, while another younger panelist expresses her anticipation for the next Fast & Furious movie.
Later on, Nikko meets with and performs for a famous music producer named Mr. Dickenson (Matthew Bennett), who informs him that he has a shot at getting a record deal if he can raise enough money for equipment for his demo, which has to be excellent. Nikko recalls Courtney's offer of half the earnings from the contest Spectacular! plans to perform in, and decides to join the choir in order to get the money to pay for his demo. When he approaches the choir Courtney remembers his mockery of their carnival performance and initially refuses to let him join, but acquiesces after Nikko demonstrates his talent by performing "Break My Heart" in front of the whole group, who are impressed by his vocals.
Though distressed by his sister's actions, Valore is glad at the approach of Lazarillo, hoping the gourmand will provide him some distraction. There is none to be had though, as Lazarillo, determined in his quest for the umbrannes, refuses Valore's request to dine with him, instead pleading the Count to present him to the Duke, in hopes of wrangling an invitation to the Duke's dinner. Valore acquiesces, but for his own amusement orders his spies to accompany Lazarillo, in the off chance the gourmand make some sort of treasonous comment. While Lazarillo has been busy soliciting an introduction from Valore, his boy has discovered that the umbrannes is no longer in the Duke's possession, but has been sent to the general Gondarino.
The term course of performance is defined in the Uniform Commercial Code as follows: > (a) A "course of performance" is a sequence of conduct between the parties > to a particular transaction that exists if: :(1) the agreement of the > parties with respect to the transaction involves repeated occasions for > performance by a party; and :(2) the other party, with knowledge of the > nature of the performance and opportunity for objection to it, accepts the > performance or acquiesces in it without objection. A sequence of conduct after or under the agreement, however, is a "course of performance."Cmt.
28); the paradox is also felt in her "[b]oth and neither" gender (3.2.35–38). When Luce 1 finally acquiesces to Chartley's demands near the end of the first act, the proposal of marriage is inextricably yoked to the question of her virginity—the question he actually asks is not "will you marry me?" but rather "I hope thou art a maid, Luce?"—and, given his dominance up until this point of the register of audience contact (his displacement from this position by Luce 2 brings the first act to a close; he doesn't occupy it again until the end of act three), a comic moment of ironic counterperspective, expressed when Luce responds in the affirmative through audience contact, seems implicit.See (1.2.127–130).
Long's Farm is highlighted and the following text can be found: "This Station is on Colonel Frasers' portion of the Seigniory of Temisquata; it is also subject to the above inconvenient." The inconvenient is that "… but being on the Seigniory of the River du Loup, this man is subject to be called on for rent for the whole of the period he has been on it; or to be turned off without any remuneration for his labor; although the settlers were afsured they were on government land, I trust they could have the usual grants given them." October 2, 1829 - Alexander Fraser writes to Major Elliott where he acquiesces to Major Elliott's recommendations and relinquishes his rights to 100 acres of land for settlers to render courier work easier.
And their poisonous error has > spread thus to the whole world until everyone regards these teachings of > Christ not as precepts binding on all Christians alike but as mere counsels > for the perfect.Martin Luther, "Temporal Authority: To What Extent it Should > Be Obeyed" (1523) Dietrich Bonhoeffer argues that the interpretation of the evangelical counsels as supererogatory acquiesces in what he calls "cheap grace", lowering the standard of Christian teaching: > The difference between ourselves and the rich young man is that he was not > allowed to solace his regrets by saying: "Never mind what Jesus says, I can > still hold on to my riches, but in a spirit of inner detachment. Despite my > inadequacy I can take comfort in the thought that God has forgiven me my > sins and can have fellowship with Christ in faith." But no, he went away > sorrowful.
Morty has a long-term crush on Jessica, a redhead teenage girl at his school. On the night of the Flu Season Dance at his school, his desire leads him to ask Rick for a love serum, and Rick acquiesces, giving him a serum derived from voles. Upon Morty giving Jessica (who, unbeknownst to Morty, has the flu) the serum, it latches onto the flu virus and goes airborne, spreading through the entire planet in a matter of minutes and causing every person not directly related to Morty to fall in love with him. In an attempt to counteract the DNA used in the original serum, Rick makes an antidote from mantis DNA, but the serum fails, instead causing the world's population to mutate into monstrous mantis-people, all of whom want to eat Morty after mating with him.
Kelly Greenhill has argued that cross-border mobility may be epmloyed as "weapons of mass migration" States may engage in coercive migration diplomacy, namely 'the threat or act by a state, or coalition of states, to affect either migration flows to/from a target state or its migrant stock as a punishment, unless the target state acquiesces to an articulated political or economic demand.' Coercive migration diplomacy strategies involve violence or the threat of force. For Adamson and Tsourapas, coercive migration diplomacy relies on states' adoption of a unilateral approach to interstate bargaining, namely a zero-sum perspective of relative gain, where only one side is expected to benefit. Greenhill has written on the conditions under which the intentional creation, manipulation, and exploitation real or threatened mass population movements may constitute an element of coercion in international relations.
One summer, the two are working in Ohio when Tucker proposes that they go to Pittsburgh to find some "Pittsburg The name of Pittsburgh was often spelled without the h in the 1800s and early 1900s, especially between 1891 and 1911 when the h-less spelling was favored by the United States Board on Geographic Names. Millionaires", whom he describes by saying, "They are rough but uncivil in their manners, and though their ways are boisterous and unpolished, under it all they have a great deal of impoliteness and discourtesy". He acquiesces to Peters' request that they give the millionaires something in return for their money, and the two go to Pittsburgh. After observing various millionaires during their first few days in the town, Tucker returns to the hotel one night and informs Peters that he has gotten to know one.
In the third part, the Czech party expresses their regrets at the post-war expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia and the expropriation and revocation of citizenship of the Bohemian Germans, including the many injustices ("Unrecht" in the German version – lawlessness) and suffering of innocents that came of this. The Czech party also expresses regret at the excesses, during the expulsion, that went unpunished. In the fourth part, both sides declare the wrongs committed a problem of the past and acknowledge the other side's right to a different opinion. This passage, though it is a compromise, is among the most controversial parts of the declaration in both countries – the German side declined to acquiesces to the Czech demands to declare the Munich Agreement null right from the start (as France and Italy did in the past) however they acknowledge the Czech right to consider it null.
After several attempts to calm both men, Richard acquiesces and it is determined that the matter be resolved in the established method of trial by battle between Bolingbroke and Mowbray, despite the objections of Gaunt. The tournament scene is very formal with a long, ceremonial introduction, but as the combatants are about to fight, Richard interrupts and sentences both to banishment from England. Bolingbroke is originally sentenced to ten years' banishment, but Richard reduces this to six years upon seeing John of Gaunt's grieving face, while Mowbray is banished permanently. The king's decision can be seen as the first mistake in a series leading eventually to his overthrow and death, since it is an error which highlights many of his character flaws, displaying as it does indecisiveness (in terms of whether to allow the duel to go ahead), abruptness (Richard waits until the last possible moment to cancel the duel), and arbitrariness (there is no apparent reason why Bolingbroke should be allowed to return and Mowbray not).
Kraemer, 334 U.S. 1 (1948)); # If the government merely acquiesces in the performance of an act by a private individual or organization it is not state action, but if the government coerces, influences, or encourages the performance of the act, it is state action (Rendell-Baker v. Wilmington Parking Authority, 365 U.S. 715 (1961)); # If government agencies are simply members of a private organization, the actions of the organization are not state action, but if the government is "pervasively entwined" with the leadership of the private organization, the acts of the organization are state action (Brentwood Academy v.
