The studio was commissioned to illustrate many well known and iconic London buildings before they were built or extended, including the London Eye, the Tate Modern, the Millennium Dome (now the O2), the Royal Academy, the Royal Festival Hall and the British Museum. The RIBA collected works by the studio in 2002 for the RIBA drawings collection; some of these images were exhibited in the Architectural galleries of the V&A.; Recognised as experts in the visualisation of architecture and the built environment, the studio gained a reputation for collaborating with many of the world's top architects and designers, including Kengo Kuma, Jean Nouvel and Thomas Heatherwick on projects located around the globe. Since 2000 the studio has continued to develop its CG based visualisation techniques and by 2015 had produced over 20,000 'virtual' or CGI images since it was founded.

In addition, a range of imaging modalities can be used to visualise the shape and size of the tumour and its relation to surrounding tissues and organs. Barnes, is the interpolation of unevenly spread data points from a set of measurements of an unknown function in two dimensions into an analytic function of two variables. In 2016 Dominique Starck founded a Duo together with percussionist Marco Käppeli, as well as forming the ensemble Mono Soma (Sound-Meditation) with Silvan Winkler (monochord, koto, pads) und Eva Luna Benedetti (voice). Over the past 20 years, Dominique Starck has developed his own chanting method, named Chakra-Chant-Move (breathing, sound, visualisation and movement), a holistic integral way of self-development.

The main challenge in applying the technology to biological material was to invent a sample preparation procedure that would ensure that the atom and 3D structure remained stable while argon nano-etching occurred. In 2013 the Australian Catholic University together with Manning Clark House, Yerevan State University and the Armenian Apostolic Church of the Holy Resurrection in Sydney, began a project to create a digital reconstruction of the destroyed Julfa Cemetery. The project, led by Dr Judith Crispin and Prof. Harold Short, is using 3D visualisation and virtual reality techniques to create an immersive presentation of the medieval khachkars and ram-shaped stones set in the original location. Julfa project is the custodian of many historical photographs and maps of the Julfa cemetery, including those taken by Argam Ayvazyan over a 25-year period.

Since that time oesophageal dilatation has been carried out using either bougies or endoscopic balloons, and can be used to treat benign oesophageal strictures and achalasia. Initially, bougies were used to dilate benign strictures of the oesophagus. These could be passed alongside the endoscope, allowing visualisation of the bougie passing through the stricture, but the technique of passing a guidewire through the stricture endoscopically, then removing the endoscope and passing the bougie over the guidewire was more commonly used.

He studied physics at Imperial College, London (1958–66), after which he was appointed principal research fellow at the Meteorological Office (1966–72), while leading the RN Operation Thermocline in which he pioneered underwater flow visualisation. Later he joined NERC as Director of Marine and Atmospheric Science (1986-1994), where he created the National Oceanography Centre at Southampton. He held professorships at Southampton University (1972–77), Kiel University (1977-86) and Imperial College London (1994- ), carrying out research into the seasonal boundary layer of the ocean and plankton ecosystem models, and modelling global container freight.

In 2000 Hart took a position as a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University , and was promoted to a Reader, Professor, and in 2008 Chair in Natural Computation. She is now director of the Centre of Algorithms, Visualisation and Evolving Systems (CAVES) group in the School of Computing. The SMILE Ground-based and Additional Science Working Group coordinates support for the mission in the solar-terrestrial physics community. Their aim is to maximise the uptake of SMILE data, and therefore maximise the science output of the mission. They will coordinate future observing campaigns with other experimental facilities, both on the ground and in space, for example by using high resolution modes for Super Dual Auroral Radar Network facilities, or with EISCAT 3D, and correlating with data from other missions flying at the time. The working group is also developing a set of tools and a visualisation facility to combine data from SMILE and supporting experiments.

The computational conversion of the ion sequence data, as obtained from a position sensitive detector, to a three-dimensional visualisation of atomic types, is termed "reconstruction". Reconstruction algorithms are typically geometrically based, and have several literature formulations. Interactive Petrophysics by Lloyd's Register, Log Studio by Logtek softwares, Petra® by IHS, GeoSoftware by CGG, JewelSuite by Baker and Hughes, Delphi by Schlumberger, Petrosys, Geolog®, GEOSuite7 to name a few) with some software development in the area of well operational performance management and optimisation (RIGIQ® by Trigpoint Solutions, EnergySys), but log data and contextual information management (including wireline program optimisations) is sadly underrepresented. Some of the wireline service QA/QC companies have developed their own internal software solution to this problem (e. g. one & zero consulting company), but almost none of the software is open-sourced or commercially available.

Martin John Kemp (born 5 March 1942) is an art historian and exhibition curator who is one of the world's leading authorities on the life and works of Leonardo da Vinci and visualisation in art and science. Since 2008 he has been emeritus professor of the art history at University of Oxford, prior to which he was a professor of Art History there (1995–2008) and he has held posts at University of St Andrews (1981–1995) and University of Glasgow (1966–1981). He was instrumental in the authentication of Salvator Mundi to Leonardo and has been very vocal on many other attributions to Leonardo, including support of La Bella Principessa and opposition of the Isleworth Mona Lisa.

Rabies can be difficult to diagnose because, in the early stages, it is easily confused with other diseases or with aggressiveness. The reference method for diagnosing rabies is the fluorescent antibody test (FAT), an immunohistochemistry procedure, which is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The FAT relies on the ability of a detector molecule (usually fluorescein isothiocyanate) coupled with a rabies-specific antibody, forming a conjugate, to bind to and allow the visualisation of rabies antigen using fluorescent microscopy techniques. Microscopic analysis of samples is the only direct method that allows for the identification of rabies virus-specific antigen in a short time and at a reduced cost, irrespective of geographical origin and status of the host.

Lin has composed music and painted music as an artist. The 45 paintings in the "Abstraction in Music" Series (1986–1987) is her interpretation of music on canvas, as she is moved by the music of great composers such as Handel (Water Music), Mozart (Jupiter Symphony), Franz Liszt (Rhapsodies dan l'espace), Vivaldi (The Four Seasons), Debussy (La Mer). They operate at an even higher voltage, selected such that each ion pair creates an avalanche, but by the emission of UV photons, multiple avalanches are created which spread along the anode wire, and the adjacent gas volume ionizes from as little as a single ion pair event. This is the "Geiger region" of operation. The current pulses produced by the ionising events are passed to processing electronics which can derive a visual display of count rate or radiation dose, and usually in the case of hand-held instruments, an audio device producing clicks.

Informative modelling is an interdisciplinary methodological approach linking information technologies with architectural analysis and modelling (at various scales, from architectural elements to buildings and structures). Informative modelling aims at improving the way information and evidences about how architectural objects evolved through time can be visually displayed. Informative modelling applies to the study of historic architecture, where objects have most often been widely transformed, and consequently where what is known about objects remains partial. Based in London, Hayes Davidson' was the UK's first CGI-based architectural visualisation practice. He was an avid reader of Marvin Minsky and Jaron Lanier, and held a firm conviction that 3D modelling and rendering were not just an aid to artists, but more importantly were an inevitable and essential part of the base camp required to lead to a fully simulated re-creation of the world around us, as well as new worlds. With Jane Tormey, Sawdon co-founded the international, on-line journal for drawing and visualisation, TRACEY and he is now a Director of the TRACEY research project. Geographic digital twins have been popularised in urban planning practice, given the increasing appetite for digital technology in the Smart Cities movement. These digital twins are often proposed in the form of interactive platforms to capture and display real-time 3D and 4D spatial data in order to model urban environments (cities) and the data feeds within them. Visualisation technologies such as augmented reality (AR) systems are being used as both collaborative tools for design and planning in the built environment integrating data feeds from embedded sensors in cities and API services to form digital twins. For example, AR can be used to create augmented reality maps, buildings and data feeds projected onto tabletops for collaborative viewing by built environment professionals.

Atom probes are unlike conventional optical or electron microscopes, in that the magnification effect comes from the magnification provided by a highly curved electric field, rather than by the manipulation of radiation paths.

In order to realise this aim the Gesellschaft für Informatik maintains a large number of committees, special interest groups, and working groups in the field of theory of computation, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, software engineering, human computer interaction, databases, technical informatics, graphics and information visualisation, business informatics, legal aspects of computing, computer science education, social computing, and computer security. The concept adopted in the early days of the Statistical Yearbook, which aimed to make information available not just to specialists but to the public at large, corresponds to modern principles of statistical dissemination. One drop of the cell suspension should then be dropped onto an ethanol cleaned slide from a distance of about 30 cm, optimally this should be carried out at room temperature at humidity levels of 60–70%. Slides should be evaluated by visualisation using a phase contrast microscope, minimal cytoplasm should be observed and chromosomes should not be overlapping and be 400–550 bands long with no separated chromatids and finally should appear dark rather than shiny. Slides then need to be air dried overnight at room temperature, and any further storage should be in groups of four at −20 °C with either silica beads or nitrogen present to maintain dryness. Different donors should be tested as hybridization may be variable.

A fluorescence microscope with the appropriate filters for the DAPI stain as well as the two fluorophores utilised is required for visualisation, and these filters should also minimise the crosstalk between the fluorophores, such as narrow band pass filters. The microscope must provide uniform illumination without chromatic variation, be appropriately aligned and have a "plan" type of objective which is apochromatic and give a magnification of x63 or x100. This work has worked to developing novel theoretical and informatics approaches that build from scaling principles and functional biology. Some of this work has focused on forecasting and visualizing the fate of biological diversity and ecosystem functioning under differing climate change and land use change scenarios. This work includes building novel approaches to complex ecological problems – utilizing integrative computation, big data, statistical, and visualisation tools to visualize and analyze biological data and to assess how climate change will influence the distribution of diversity and functioning of forests and ecosystems. His lab's research utilizes differing approaches including: developing theory and informatics infrastructure, field work, big datasets, scaling, empirically measuring numerous attributes of organismal form and function, utilizing physiological and trait-based techniques, and assessing macroecological and large-scale patterns.

It is considered the band's first concept album. The starting point for the museum project was an image called "The End of the War", a visualisation of the vibrations from when gunfire ceased at the exact moment that the war ended. After conducting research, the Brewis brothers decided against writing songs broadly about World War I. They instead focused on individual stories inspired by technological, political, sociological, and cultural advancements over the course of the next century that directly or indirectly stemmed from the war. A variety of topics are addressed in the songs on Making a New World, including war reparations, social housing reforms, women's suffrage, the Dada movement, the Tiananmen Square protests, sanitary napkins, gender realignment operations, and the development of technologies such as ultrasound, synthesisers, and air-to-ground radio communication.

Fred created the sounds with tape manipulation, loops and tone generators in his home studio in London. It set out to show the advantages of CAD systems over conventional drawings, with information managed as a database rather than a drawing cabinet, and aimed to demonstrate that 3D Computer Aided Design systems could revolutionise projects, provided they were used for more than visualisation. To reduce the risks involved in adopting new working methods, Avanti brought together areas of current best practice (such as CPIC protocols) that had previously gained too little market penetration to have significant impact on the sector.

Theoretical planetologists study atmospheric circulation over planets. Theoretical planetologists, also known as theoretical planetary scientists, use modelling techniques to develop an understanding of the internal structure of planets by making assumptions about their chemical composition and the state of their materials, then calculating the radial distribution of various properties such as temperature, pressure, or density of material across the planet's internals. Theoretical planetologists also use numerical models to understand how the Solar System planets were formed and develop in the future, their thermal evolution, their tectonics, how magnetic fields are formed in planetary interiors, how convection processes work in the cores and mantles of terrestrial planets and in the interiors of gas giants, how their lithospheres deform, the orbital dynamics of planetary satellites, how dust and ice are transported on the surface of some planets (such as Mars), and how the atmospheric circulation takes place over a planet.

Developers knew from their prior experience with a file-based macro-language driven system that the next generation plant design system had to be built on a relational database and with a much more powerful programming language to handle large data volumes, complexity and relationships. Whereas mechanical CAD engineers were developing machinery with a few hundred or maybe a thousand components, plant design engineers typically needed to deal with hundreds of thousands of components. To facilitate this work, the baCIS 2 interpretive language and the MDB relational database were developed for MPDS. Existing MEDUSA technology was used to create the 2D and 3D geometric data required for plant layouts. The creation of this data-centric concept separated the 3D visualisation of a plant from the underlying database and allowed engineers to plan and design installations with very large volumes of data, and produce all the required 2D drawings from 3D plant designs.

The daughter of the artist, Jakub Weinles, Themerson was born in Warsaw in 1907. She graduated from the Chopin University of Music and the Warsaw School of Fine Arts with a distinction, in 1931. From 1938 to 1940 she lived in Paris, and then from 1940 lived in London until her death in 1988. She was principally a painter, although, throughout her life, she worked in several other fields of the visual arts: illustration, stage and graphic design. Themerson collaborated with her husband, the writer Stefan Themerson, on experimental films, Apteka [The Pharmacy] (1930), Europa (1931–1932), Drobiazg Melodyjny [Musical Moment] (1933), Zwarcie [Short Circuit] (1935) and Przygoda Czlowieka Poczciwego [Adventure of a Good Citizen] (1937), only the last of which survives, along with two films they made together in Britain, Calling Mr Smith(1943), an account of Nazi atrocities in Poland and The Eye and the Ear (1944/45), investigating the visualisation of music.

The project began in May 1998 with an idea to make a tapestry telling the story of the coming of the Normans to Ireland in tapestry form and to hang this tapestry in the historic St. Mary's Church of Ireland Church in New Ross. The idea originated with the Rector of the Church, Reverend Paul Mooney, who then consulted with Alexis Bernstorff, an art historian and professional in the field of tapestry and fabric restoration. Over the summer of 1998, Dr. Mooney and Alexis Bernstorff consulted with local artist Ms. Reiltin Murphy to create a visualisation of how the tapestry could be best displayed in the Church of Ireland parish church. At that time the focus of the tapestry widened from the story of the Norman expansion into Ireland in the latter part of the 12th century to include the founding of the port and town of New Ross at the beginning of the 13th century.

In the book series, the origins of The Way are the result of the superspace geometry researches of the fictional Dr. Patricia Luisa Vasquez in the late 20th and early 21st Century, pre- and post-Death (The Death being the name given to a nuclear war that occurred in the early 21st century within the timeline of the novels). Vasquez's first exploration into the superspace mathematics of fractional geometry and continua was her Doctoral Dissertation, Non-gravity Bent Geodesics of n-Spatial Reference Frames: An Approach to Superspace Visualisation and Probability Clustering in 1989. This work was the fundamental basis of the Way, as it identifies the requirements for accessing superspaces, and the consequences of doing so within the context of a physical object linked to a stable quantum configuration: The Thistledown, connected to the Way. Later work by Vasquez, specifically the fictional paper Theory of n-Spatial Geodesics as Applied to Newtonian Physics with a Special Discourse on ρ-Simplon World Lines.

Bacht's aim as an artist is the visualisation of dialectical processes between artistic material and aesthetic design principles that always unfold as respectful mimeses of cyclic laws of nature. „The wave“, writes Hans Gercke, „fascinates him in its polarity of height and depth, light and shade, concave and convex movement, serenity and dynamic“. Such elementary experiences, the rhythm that all organic life depends on, the pulse of our bloodstream, the tides, day and night, the seasons, the law of tension and release, are objectified in all work groups and lend aesthetic unity to Bacht's work. Early work groups, developed from 1975 to 1985, are the embossed prints, followed from 1985 to 1990 by anode pictures. In the late 1980s and 1990s, Bacht created major works like „Shrine for a Stone“ with several variations, the series of book objects, earth circles and makimono pictures as well as his first large-scale floor installations.

Screen City Biennial is an art biennial that explores the relation between the moving image, sound, technology and architecture and presents artistic formats that seek to expand the borders of cinematic experience in public space. Explored in the legacy of expanded cinema and integrated with the urban context, as well as presented in an Online Exhibition, the biennial presents artworks of video, live cinema, art walks (mobile art), audio-visual, light art, animation, creative data visualisation, projection mapping, participatory urban media interventions, virtual and augmented reality, and computer gaming among other formats, partly invited based on an open call. With an integrated research program that "facilitates research on artistic practice and thinking and space for curatorial reflection", the Biennial presents "a new platform that works to explore uses of the moving image in contemporary artistic practice." Screen City was founded as a festival by Daniela Arriado in 2013 and repeated in 2015, and in 2017, together with Dr. Tanya Toft Ag, it was upscaled to become the first Nordic art biennial dedicated to the expanded moving image in public space.

An original painting made as part of an early visualisation of Citizen Siege There were four projects being worked on in this phase of the Oddworld Inhabitants studio—the only three to become public knowledge were a CG feature film entitled "Citizen Siege", an online video game tied into the film, called "Wage Wars" and an HD machinima series. Citizen Siege was first announced by Lorne Lanning in his keynote speech at GameCity in Nottingham, UK. To be directed by Lanning, executive produced by Sherry McKenna and produced by Vanguard Films, it was to be a dark, political, action thriller with elements of sci-fi set in a universe entirely separate from Oddworld "where current global conditions are extrapolated into a frightening near future where democracy has all but disintegrated under the rule of global corporatism" categorised by nightmarish credit rackets responsible for the hero's predicament. It wasn't until many years later that Lanning would further explain the story of the film. In this dystopia, society has reduced humans to mere commodity, where healthy human tissue is used as collateral against financial debt, allowing corporations to literally re-possess people piece-by- piece.

Approximate visualisation of the wealth pyramid when 1% population controls 50% of the wealth The pyramid is a graphical depiction of inverse relationship between two variables as one increases the other decreases. We find that the percent of world wealth and the percent of world population controlling it are related with each other in an inverse relation. If we plot the world wealth in percent terms along the vertical axis of a graph and the corresponding percent population having control on it on the horizontal axis of a graph and add the mirror image of this graph on the left side of the vertical axis we get a wealth pyramid and can see that as we move to higher and higher wealth brackets we find that fewer and fewer people have access to it, thus the figure has a wide bottom and a lean top similar to the pyramids of Egypt. It has been reported that the gap between the ToP and BoP is widening over time in such a way that only 1% of the world population controls 50% of the wealth today, and the other 99% is having access to the remaining 50% only.

Kenderdine holds a variety of roles at UNSW. In addition to her professorship and her position with the Expanded Perception and Interaction Centre, she is deputy director of the National Institute for Experimental Arts (NIEA); director of the Laboratory for Innovation in Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (iGLAM); and an associate director of the iCinema Research Centre. She has also been the head of special projects for Museum Victoria since 2003, and is the director of research at the Applied Laboratory for Interactive Visualization and Embodiment at the City University of Hong Kong. She is a maritime archaeologist and worked as a curator at the Western Australian Maritime Museum from 1994–1997. In her first two years there, she designed and built its website, one of the world’s earliest museum sites. She later designed networks and websites for Museums Australia, for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and, during the 2000 Summer Olympics, for Intel’s Olympic Games projects. From 1998–2003, she was the creative director of special projects at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. Between 2013 and 2017, she was a professor at the UNSW Art & Design in Sydney, Australia, and the director of visualisation for the university's transdisciplinary Expanded Perception and Interaction Centre.
