Removing certain triples of vertices from the triakis tetrahedron separates the remaining vertices into multiple connected components. When no such three- vertex separation exists, a polyhedron is said to be 4-connected. Every 4-connected polyhedron has a representation as an ideal polyhedron; for instance this is true of the tetrakis hexahedron, another Catalan solid. Truncating a single vertex from a cube produces a simple polyhedron (one with three edges per vertex) that cannot be realized as an ideal polyhedron: by Miquel's six circles theorem, if seven of the eight vertices of a cube are ideal, the eighth vertex is also ideal, and so the vertices created by truncating it cannot be ideal.
If observation is confined to regions sufficiently remote from a system of charges, a multipole expansion of the exact polarization density can be made. By truncating this expansion (for example, retaining only the dipole terms, or only the dipole and quadrupole terms, or etc.), the results of the previous section are regained. In particular, truncating the expansion at the dipole term, the result is indistinguishable from the polarization density generated by a uniform dipole moment confined to the charge region. To the accuracy of this dipole approximation, as shown in the previous section, the dipole moment density p(r) (which includes not only p but the location of p) serves as P(r).

L1 syndrome presents as a spectrum ranging from mild to severe features. There is a genotype-phenotype correlation across the L1 spectrum, meaning that the specific genetic variant causing an L1-spectrum disorder in a patient determines the severity of the L1 syndrome in that patient. Patients with truncating (loss-of-function) variants in L1CAM, which prevent the full synthesis of L1 (protein) experience more severe features than patients with missense variants in L1CAM, which may result in an abnormal protein but do not prevent its synthesis. Illustrating this difference in L1 syndrome severity, up to 50% of infants born with L1 syndrome caused by a truncating mutation will die before the age of 3 years despite provision of best available medical treatment.
They have also been used as auxiliary functions, in Diophantine approximation and transcendental number theory, though for sharp results ad hoc methods, in some sense inspired by the Padé theory, typically replace them. Since Padé approximant is a rational function, an artificial singular point may occur as an approximation, but this can be avoided by Borel-Padé analysis. The reason why the Padé approximant tends to be a better approximation than a truncating Taylor series is clear from the viewpoint of the multi-point summation method. Since there are many cases in which the asymptotic expansion at infinity becomes 0 or a constant, it can be interpreted as the "incomplete two-point Padé approximation", in which the ordinary Padé approximation improves the method truncating a Taylor series.
For example, an approximate multi-bit adder can ignore the carry chain and thus, allow all its sub-adders to perform addition operation in parallel. ; Approximate storage : Instead of storing data values exactly, they can be stored approximately, e.g., by truncating the lower-bits in floating point data. Another method is accept less reliable memory.

The truncated 16-cell may be constructed from the 16-cell by truncating its vertices at 1/3 of the edge length. This results in the 16 truncated tetrahedral cells, and introduces the 8 octahedra (vertex figures). (Truncating a 16-cell at 1/2 of the edge length results in the 24-cell, which has a greater degree of symmetry because the truncated cells become identical with the vertex figures.) The Cartesian coordinates of the vertices of a truncated 16-cell having edge length 2√2 are given by all permutations, and sign combinations: : (0,0,1,2) An alternate construction begins with a demitesseract with vertex coordinates (±3,±3,±3,±3), having an even number of each sign, and truncates it to obtain the permutations of : (1,1,3,3), with an even number of each sign.
Truncating and censoring of data can also be estimated using stochastic models. For instance, applying a non-proportional reinsurance layer to the best estimate losses will not necessarily give us the best estimate of the losses after the reinsurance layer. In a simulated stochastic model, the simulated losses can be made to "pass through" the layer and the resulting losses assessed appropriately.
SH-137 was paved in its entirety by 1961. The route remained in this configuration throughout the remainder of the twentieth century. Louisiana Highway 1208-4 (LA 1208-4) spans from south to north and is known as Eddie Williams Avenue. From the south, LA 1208-4 takes over for the former designation of LA 1208-1 along US 71. It then follows the route of I-49, truncating at the Sugarhouse Road exit for I-49. It was created in 2012.
This inhibition of digestion by exonuclease III is called spiking. Spiking can be accomplished by first truncating genes with exonuclease to create fragments with short single stranded overhangs. These fragments then serve as templates for amplification by DNA polymerase in the presence of small amounts of phosphothioate dNTPs. These resulting fragments are then ligated together to form full length genes.
Truncating mutations in this gene have been shown to promote breast cancer metastasis to the lungs by allowing cancer cells to survive mechanical stretch in the microcirculation. Disruptions of this gene have been associated to melanoma tumor progression. When data is convolved with a function with wide support, such as for downsampling by a large sampling ratio, because of the Convolution theorem and the FFT algorithm, it may be faster to transform it, multiply pointwise by the transform of the filter and then reverse transform it. Alternatively, a good filter is obtained by simply truncating the transformed data and re-transforming the shortened data set.
These puzzles usually have a set of masters 3D printed, which then are copied using moulding and casting techniques to create the final puzzle. Other Rubik's Cube modifications include cubes that have been extended or truncated to form a new shape. An example of this is the Trabjer's Octahedron, which can be built by truncating and extending portions of a regular 3×3×3.
Riboswitches have been found to act as regulators of gene expression, particularly in bacteria, but also in plants and archaea. Riboswitches alter their secondary structure in response to the binding of a metabolite. This change in structure can result in the formation or disruption of a terminator, truncating or permitting transcription respectively. Alternatively, riboswitches may bind or occlude the Shine–Dalgarno sequence, affecting translation.

At this time, SH-44 ran from SH-34 in Eldorado to Butler. The southernmost portion of SH-44 would soon undergo changes. On July 7, 1975, State Highway 6 was introduced over the portion of highway between Eldorado and the current southern terminus. On January 5, 1987, the portion of SH-44 made redundant by SH-6 was removed from the highway, truncating it to its current southern terminus.
Accordingly, every time-dependent multipole moment must contribute radiant energy density that scales as 1/r^2, regardless of the order of the moment. Hence, high-order moments cannot be discarded as easily as in static case. Even so, the multipole coefficients of a system generally diminish with increasing order, usually as 1/(2\ell+1)!!, so radiation fields can still be approximated by truncating high-order moments.
SR 102 signage was removed from the western half of the loop in 2007, truncating SR 102 to the terminus of SR 102A in Tremont, leaving the rest of the loop unnumbered and referred to by the name Pretty Marsh Road. It was also removed from the official Acadia National Park map to match, though older Park signage at some intersections does still refer to Route 102 on this unsigned portion.
The regular dodecahedron is the third in an infinite set of truncated trapezohedra which can be constructed by truncating the two axial vertices of a pentagonal trapezohedron. The stellations of the regular dodecahedron make up three of the four Kepler–Poinsot polyhedra. A rectified regular dodecahedron forms an icosidodecahedron. The regular dodecahedron has icosahedral symmetry Ih, Coxeter group [5,3], order 120, with an abstract group structure of A5 × Z2.
The bank was the first to introduce debit cards in South Asia in 1997 and was the first in Sri Lanka to issue a debit card instantly at the time of opening an account. The first ever Cheque Imaging & Truncating (CIT) site in Sri Lanka was launched by Sampath Bank in 2004. Since 2009, the bank is the third largest private sector bank in Sri Lanka in terms of total assets.
Obviously an approximation is made by truncating the value of n to some finite integer. An advantage of the extended master constraint is that we are working at the kinematic level and so far it is only here we have access semiclassical coherent states. Moreover, one can find none graph changing versions of this master constraint operator, which are the only type of operators appropriate for these coherent states.
The pentagonal bifrustum is the dual polyhedron of a Johnson solid, the elongated pentagonal bipyramid. This polyhedron can be constructed by taking a pentagonal bipyramid and truncating the polar axis vertices. In Conway's notation for polyhedra, it can be represented as the polyhedron "t5dP5", meaning the truncation of the degree- five vertices of the dual of a pentagonal prism.Conway Notation for Polyhedra, George W. Hart, accessed 2014-12-20.
The generation number can be calculated as the logarithm to base 2 of the ahnentafel number, and rounding down to a full integer by truncating decimal digits. For example, the number 38 is between 25=32 and 26=64, so log2(38) is between 5 and 6. This means that ancestor no.38 belongs to generation five, and was a great-great-great- grandparent of the reference person who is no.
Beginning in 2007, Disney Channel began truncating the weekday block to four hours (from 5:00 to 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time) during the summer months, in order to air episodes of Disney Channel original series during the late morning and early afternoon hours; however, the weekend schedule continued to air as a seven-hour block. By this point, the Playhouse Disney block had expanded to air from 4:00 a.m.
It also significantly scaled back the Anacostia Line, truncating the northern end of the line at the Anacostia Metro station. The plan estimated the cost of constructing the two lines at $194 million, with operating costs at about $8 million per year. DDOT officials said they believed 6,350 riders per day would pay the $1 fare in the system's first year, with ridership tripling to 23,450 riders a day in 2015.
In August 2010 Bank Indonesia proposed to redenominate the rupiah by truncating the last three zero digits (dividing by 1000). The redenomination is meant to simplify daily transactions, which often run into millions of rupiah. The plan under consideration would be completed by 2015 at the soonest, but more likely by 2020. It would reduce the exchange rate with the US dollar from about 14,600 rupiah to 14.6.
Epub 2010 Sep 19. Nkd1 binds to the Dishevelled (Dvl) family of proteins (DVL1, DVL2, DVL3). Specific truncating NKD1 mutations identified in DNA mismatch repair deficient colon cancer that disrupt Nkd1/Dvl binding implicate these mutations as a cause of increased Wnt signaling in approximately 1% of human colon cancer, the majority of which have increased Wnt signaling due to mutations the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC), AXIN2, or rarely the beta-catenin genes.
In 1922, the Lebanon-Willimantic route was designated as a state highway known as Highway 214. In the 1932 state highway renumbering, Route 89 was established. It ran from Lebanon via Willimantic, Mansfield Center, Warrenville, and Westford up to Union and incorporated the entirety of old Highway 214. In 1964, Route 195 was extended south from Mansfield Center to Willimantic using part of Route 89, truncating the south end of Route 89.
Even as the New Haven added ten EP-5 locomotives in 1955, change was coming. The company was phasing out electrified freight operations and considered truncating electrification from New Haven to Stamford, Connecticut, a distance of . To that end the company ordered thirty dual-mode EMD FL9 locomotives. These locomotives, capable of either diesel-electric operation or electric operation from third-rail, eliminated the need for an engine change at New Haven.
M-21 was moved to the freeway from its previous surface-street routing. The final link in the freeway was completed in November 1974 along the Holland–Grandville segment, completing I-196 for a second time. At the same time, M-21 was removed from the freeway, truncating that highway designation to end in Grand Rapids. In 2009, access to Jenison was improved by the addition of a partial interchange with Baldwin Street.
Ten ten-sided dice The pentagonal trapezohedron was patented for use as a gaming die (i.e. "game apparatus") in 1906. These dice are used for role-playing games that use percentile-based skills; however, a twenty-sided die can be labeled with the numbers 0-9 twice to use for percentages instead. Subsequent patents on ten- sided dice have made minor refinements to the basic design by rounding or truncating the edges.
The New York Times Jon Caramanica noted Rihanna at times "barely even relies on words, truncating her syllables past patois to something far less exact." Lyrically, "Work" is "about working for a paycheck no matter what else is going on in your life." Additionally, it focuses on "a fragile relationship" that can be seen in the lines, "If I get another chance to, I would never, oh never, neglect you," which Rihanna sings.
By 1932, the Board of Transportation had modified the plan to further reduce costs, omitting a branch in the Bronx, and truncating the line's southern terminus to the Nassau Street Loop. Further revision of the plan and more studies followed. By 1939, construction had been postponed indefinitely, and the Second Avenue Line was relegated to "proposed" status. The Board of Transportation had ranked it as the city's 14th most important transportation project.
However, studies have suggested that this is difficult due to the loss of activity with single nucleotide mismatches. Greater than three mismatches demonstrates complete loss of activity. Changes in the length of AMOs were tolerated far better, with changes of one nucleotide and two nucleotides resulting in little loss of activity and three or more in total loss of activity. Truncating a single nucleotide from the 3’ end resulted in a slight improvement of AMO activity.
The redesigned station featured restrooms, waiting rooms, food concessions, and was staffed by a ticket agent. A tunnel connected the station with the LaSalle Hotel, located across the street. The LaSalle itself stood on the site of the Sheridan hotel, which had formerly housed the South Shore station. The South Bend terminal remained in service until 1970, when the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend Railroad eliminated street running in South Bend by truncating the line.
In January 2018, Monstercat established two imprints, Monstercat: Uncaged and Monstercat: Instinct, as part of a marketing refresh. The Uncaged imprint houses the label's bass-heavy artists, while Instinct houses the label's more melodic artists. To promote the new imprints, Uncaged and Instinct-themed extended plays were released alongside major feature updates to Rocket League, truncating the size of the albums from eighteen tracks for Rocket League x Monstercat, Vol. 1 to six tracks each for Vol.
Truncating mutations in pannexin 1 have been shown to promote breast and colon cancer metastasis to the lungs by allowing cancer cells to survive mechanical stretch in the microcirculation through the release of ATP. Pannexins may be involved in the process of tumor development. Particularly, PANX2 expression levels predict post diagnosis survival for patients with glial tumors. Probenecid, a well-established drug for the treatment of gout, allows for discrimination between channels formed by connexins and pannexins.
The following year, the short section of road between Eisenhower Boulevard and I-283 opened as a connector between the two roads. With the opening of the section between Elizabethtown and Mount Joy in 1971, the PA 283 designation was revived along this section, extending eastward along the former PA 230 expressway to end at US 30, truncating PA 230 to its current eastern terminus. Finally, the section between I-283 and Elizabethtown opened in 1972, completing the route.
The approximation may provide benefits by being more mathematically tractable than the function being expanded, or by an increase in the speed of computation of the expanded function. Typically, the best approximation is given when the series is truncated at the smallest term. This way of optimally truncating an asymptotic expansion is known as superasymptotics.. The error is then typically of the form where is the expansion parameter. The error is thus beyond all orders in the expansion parameter.
While the power turbine may be integral with the gas generator section, many turboprops today feature a free power turbine on a separate coaxial shaft. This enables the propeller to rotate freely, independent of compressor speed. Residual thrust on a turboshaft is avoided by further expansion in the turbine system and/or truncating and turning the exhaust 180 degrees, to produce two opposing jets. Apart from the above, there is very little difference between a turboprop and a turboshaft.
On October 23, 2010, D.C. transportation officials published a revised plan for the DC Streetcar system. The new plan envisioned opening the H Street/Benning Road and Anacostia lines in March or April 2012. It also significantly scaled back the Anacostia Line, truncating the northern end of the line at the Anacostia Metro station. The plan estimated the cost of constructing the two lines at $194 million, with operating costs at about $8 million per year.
The aim was to build part of the new shopping centre in place of some of the demolished 1960s buildings with the rest of the centre taking up the site of the old station. By truncating the station it was hoped that passengers walking to the new platforms would generate a greater amount of pedestrian flow around the shopping centre, thus making it more viable. The recession of the early 1990s however, put paid to these plans and Broadway Centre was never built.
At the time, SR 167 shared part of its alignment with SR 163, but was eventually moved to its own route. In 1940, with the designation of US 1A over an old section of SR 161, the orphaned section of SR 161 between Fort Fairfield and the border was renumbered to SR 167\. The pavement entered Canada as New Brunswick Route 190. SR 161 has since been returned to its original routing past Fort Fairfield therefore truncating SR 167 to US 1A.
The Kepler-444 system consists of the planet hosting primary and a pair of M-dwarf stars. The M-dwarfs orbit each other at a distance of less than 0.3 AU while the pair orbits the primary in a highly eccentric 198 year orbit. The pair comes within 5 AU of the primary potentially severely truncating the protoplanetary disk from which the planets formed at 1–2 AU. This would have depleted the availability of solid material to form the observed planets.
By 1930, the line was scaled down, with the line from 125th to Houston Streets to be complete by 1940, as well as a spur along 34th Street to be done by 1948. This scaled-down plan was postponed in 1931. By 1932, the Board of Transportation had modified the plan to further reduce costs, omitting a branch in the Bronx, and truncating the line's southern terminus to the Nassau Street Loop. Further revision of the plan and more studies followed.
To address the security weaknesses inherent in LM encryption and authentication schemes, Microsoft introduced the NTLMv1 protocol in 1993 with Windows NT 3.1. For hashing, NTLM uses Unicode support, replacing `LMhash=DESeach(DOSCHARSET(UPPERCASE(password)), "KGS!@#$%")` by `NThash=MD4(UTF-16-LE(password))`, which does not require any padding or truncating that would simplify the key. On the negative side, the same DES algorithm was used with only 56-bit encryption for the subsequent authentication steps, and there is still no salting.
The order of magnitude of a number is, intuitively speaking, the number of powers of 10 contained in the number. More precisely, the order of magnitude of a number can be defined in terms of the common logarithm, usually as the integer part of the logarithm, obtained by truncation. For example, the number has a logarithm (in base 10) of 6.602; its order of magnitude is 6. When truncating, a number of this order of magnitude is between 106 and 107.
Whole exome sequencing (WES) can be used as a non-biased tool in the diagnostic evaluation of individuals with suspected genetic disorders such as the ZTTK syndrome. Using WES, individuals were identified with truncating variants of SON and overlapping clinical features. ZTTK syndrome has been identified as a neurodevelopmental disorder associated with a de novo mutation in the SON gene using WES. The SON gene is known to be a major cause of severe intellectual disability and consequent developmental disorders.
Three out of 10 advanced colorectal tumors had mutations leading to premature termination of the SFRP1 translation product. The mutations were two single-base deletions (26delG and 67delG) and a single-base change (G450A), which generates an in-frame stop codon. These three mutations were found within the first exon, which was shown previously to be sufficient for Wnt antagonist activity by itself [26, 32]. Of the 10 tumors analyzed, no truncating mutations were found in the second or third exons of SFRP1.
The primary translation product of SFRP1 contains an atypical signaling sequence, where a chain of 15 hydrophilic amino acids precede the hydrophobic domain. Looking at 7 tumors without the truncating mutation, the retained SFRP1 allele contained an in-frame three- base insertion after nucleotide 37. This is thought to lead to an extra alanine in the protein after codon 13. However, no significant association was found between the development of colorectal cancer and the presence of the 3-bp insertion.
For example, if a quantity is constant within the whole interval, approximating it with a second-order Taylor series will not increase the accuracy. In the case of a smooth function, the nth-order approximation is a polynomial of degree n, which is obtained by truncating the Taylor series to this degree. The formal usage of order of approximation corresponds to the omission of some terms of the series used in the expansion (usually the higher terms). This affects accuracy.
Since side lobes of the Airy disk are responsible for degrading the image, techniques for suppressing them are utilized. In case the imaging beam has Gaussian distribution, when the truncation ratio (the ratio of the diameter of the Gaussian beam to the diameter of the truncating aperture) is set to 1, the side-lobes become negligible and the beam profile becomes purely Gaussian. The measured beam profile of such imaging system is shown and compared to the modeled beam profile in the Figure on the right.
Various GATA1 mutations that cause this gene to make GATA1-S but unable to make GATA1 result in the excessive proliferation of platelet precursor cells, reductions in the levels of circulating blood platelets, mild reductions in the levels of circulating red blood cells, and the development of transient myeloproliferative disease (TMD). TMD is a disorder involving the excessive proliferation of non- malignant megakaryoblasts and descendent cells due to the cited truncating mutations in the GATA1 gene. TMD is a necessary predecessor to DS-AMKL.
This moment marked the completion of a bypass around New York City that had been planned for decades. The portion of I-287 between the US 202 interchange in Oakland and the Route 208 interchange in Franklin Lakes overtook the westernmost portion of Route 208, truncating that route to its current location. The completion of I-287 in New Jersey had significant effects on traffic and development patterns in the area. Several towns along the highway, such as Wanaque and Montville, saw increases in development.
This was followed by innumerable discussions which made them "understand each other well". He also mentioned that the song "Chikni Chameli" was a remake of their own Marathi song "Kombdi Palali" from the film Jatra (2006). In January 2012, a plagiarism suit was filed against Sony Music and Dharma Productions by a Mumbai-based engineer, for lifting and featuring the song "O Saiyyan" in the album. The Nagpur High Court ordered Johar to release the film, only after truncating the use of the song in it.
However, by 1938, Massachusetts redesignated its portion of the route as State Route 5A, truncating US 5A to the state line. The new State Route 5A was also relocated to follow Main Street into West Springfield, then continuing along River Street, Park Street, and Elm Street, where it ended at US 5. In October 1968, Connecticut decommissioned its U.S. Route 5A and the road was redesignated in both states as Route 159.The portion in West Springfield, which was not state-maintained, became an unnumbered road.
Morresi, Jacopo Sansovino, p. 202 Scamozzi's negative comment on the junction of the library with the mint has led some architectural historians to argue that the result could not have been intentionally designed by Sansovino.Scamozzi criticizes the truncating of cornices, bases, and capitals in reference to the junction of the facades of the library and the mint and considers such solutions "indecencies and follies" ("indecentie e sciocchezze"). See Vincenzo Scamozzi, L'idea della architettura universale di Vincenzo Scamozzi architetto veneto (Venetiis: Giorgio Valentini, 1615), Parte seconda, p. 171.
Ten years later, after weather-related expansion and contraction of the bridge, and the shedding of pieces of concrete due to spalling, SEPTA closed the bridge on October 25, 1986, truncating service at Cynwyd and suspended service to three of the line's six stations (Ivy Ridge, Manayunk, and Walnut Hill). Between 1996 and 1999, the bridge was stabilized and refurbished. The effort determined that the internal steel reinforcement was not compromised, as SEPTA had feared. Further investigation by Urban Engineers determined that the bridge was safe and only needed surface work to stop the spalling.
Choosing m to be a power of 2, most often m = 232 or m = 264, produces a particularly efficient LCG, because this allows the modulus operation to be computed by simply truncating the binary representation. In fact, the most significant bits are usually not computed at all. There are, however, disadvantages. This form has maximal period m/4, achieved if a ≡ 3 or a ≡ 5 (mod 8). The initial state X0 must be odd, and the low three bits of X alternate between two states and are not useful.
In 1990, Route 9 took over the eastern end of the Route 72 freeway truncating Route 72 to the current 9/72 interchange and extending Route 372 eastward along the former Route 72. In 2010, Route 72 was rerouted in Plainville and Bristol onto the new four- lane boulevard, a widened Pine Street, and an extended section of Riverside Avenue that crosses the Pequabuck River. The overlap with Route 229 was eliminated, and the old sections along Broad Street, Central St, and East Main Street were decommissioned and control of maintenance returned to the city.
This polyhedron can be constructed by truncating two opposite vertices of a cube, of a trigonal trapezohedron (a convex polyhedron with six congruent rhombus sides, formed by stretching or shrinking a cube along one of its long diagonals), or of a rhombohedron or parallelepiped (less symmetric polyhedra that still have the same combinatorial structure as a cube). In the case of a cube, or of a trigonal trapezohedron where the two truncated vertices are the ones on the stretching axes, the resulting shape has three-fold rotational symmetry.
As a property of a discrete global grid, hierarchical notation ensures that the geocodes for finer resolutions of the mesh incorporate those of all their parents, permitting rapid search and/or data aggregation at any desired equal or higher level of the hierarchy. In the c-squares case, the code is extended by additional alphanumeric characters as the spatial resolution increases, with the corollary that resolution can be decreased if desired, merely by truncating the code by the relevant amount. An equal angle spherical (global) grid, represented in a "real world" (orthographic) perspective.
SR 86 was further extended through Tucson and the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation to Ajo in 1943. SR 85 was extended south from Ajo to Lukeville in 1955, establishing a concurrency with SR 86 to Why. In 1970, SR 86 had its eastern end truncated to US 89 (later State Business Route 19) in Tucson after being replaced by I-10 between Tucson and New Mexico. In 1991, the concurrency with SR 85 between Ajo and Why was removed, truncating the western end of SR 86 to Why.
White–Sutton syndrome is named for doctors Janson White, Ph.D and V. Reid Sutton, M.D.. In his role as a clinical researcher with the Baylor-Johns Hopkins Center for Mendelian Genomics, Sutton worked with graduate student Janson White on the description of the spectrum of developmental and health issues in individuals with variants in the POGZ gene, first detailed in White's paper, "POGZ truncating alleles cause syndromic intellectual disability" in January of 2016. In June 2016, the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) designated this as “White–Sutton syndrome”.
The first ever Cheque Imagine & Truncating (CIT) site in Sri Lanka was launched by the bank in October 2004. Sampath Bank won a Gold and Merit Award at the National Best Quality Software Awards 2008 for the in-house category for developing the "Credit Approval System" (CAS) and "Electronic Money Transfer" (EMTS) application. It was also honored at the National Science and Technology Awards 2008 for the category of "Local Developed New Technologies" which have resulted in a successfully Marketed Product/Service for the product "Sampath eRemittance System".
All of SR 97 was formerly part of SR 220. When it was first established in 1929, SR 220 existed as a strange V-shaped route in its southernmost stretch from Waldoboro to Warren (via Friendship). This meant that a motorist heading north from Friendship to Warren, on what is now SR 97 north, would have been traveling southbound on SR 220. In 1949, this problem was rectified by truncating SR 220 to its current southern terminus and redesignating the eastern leg of the "V" as SR 97.
SYNGAP1 encephalopathy is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder caused by haploinsufficiency of the SynGAP protein, usually due to the presence of a heterozygous protein-truncating loss-of-function variation on the SYNGAP1 gene. Missense variations, which may result in either a loss or a change-of-function can also result in the disorder. These pathogenic variations disrupt early cognitive development, particularly in the hippocampus and cortex. The majority of mutations are considered de novo, however cases of inheritance from both somatic mosaic and germ-line mosaic parents have been reported.
By doing this, they can secure a victory by truncating the evolution of human weapons, leaving humankind with nothing but weak weapons and at the mercy of Tirmatian forces in the future. But their carefully planned strategy has a flaw: it failed to take in count the human intellect. As Tirmat expeditionary forces are dispatched, a group of scientists led by Dr. Vincent Gilgamesh unveils the prototype of a time-travelling machine. Suddenly, Tirmatians launch an attack on the laboratory where Dr. Gilgamesh works; all but Dr. Gilgamesh are killed.
It is effectively realizable for pre-recorded digital signals by assuming extensions of zero into the past and future, or more typically by making the signal repetitive and using Fourier analysis. Real filters for real-time applications approximate the ideal filter by truncating and windowing the infinite impulse response to make a finite impulse response; applying that filter requires delaying the signal for a moderate period of time, allowing the computation to "see" a little bit into the future. This delay is manifested as phase shift. Greater accuracy in approximation requires a longer delay.
Several mutations within KALRN have been linked to neurological disease. In autism spectrum disorder a frameshift mutation was found that is likely to lead to transcript decay, and heterozygosity. Another, found within the second GEF domain, is predicted to be highly deleterious to RhoA-GEF activity and likely affects the function of kalirin9 and 12 isoforms early in neuronal development. A patient harboring a homozygous mutation in kalirin’s spectrin repeat domain was found to have severe intellectual disability, and both truncating and missense mutations have been identified in patients with developmental delay.
Most programming languages provide functions or special syntax to round fractional numbers in various ways. The earliest numeric languages, such as FORTRAN and C, would provide only one method, usually truncation (towards zero). This default method could be implied in certain contexts, such as when assigning a fractional number to an integer variable, or using a fractional number as an index of an array. Other kinds of rounding had to be programmed explicitly; for example, rounding a positive number to the nearest integer could be implemented by adding 0.5 and truncating.
In mathematics, an asymptotic expansion, asymptotic series or Poincaré expansion (after Henri Poincaré) is a formal series of functions which has the property that truncating the series after a finite number of terms provides an approximation to a given function as the argument of the function tends towards a particular, often infinite, point. Investigations by revealed that the divergent part of an asymptotic expansion is latently meaningful, i.e. contains information about the exact value of the expanded function. The most common type of asymptotic expansion is a power series in either positive or negative powers.
Ultimately, GSA made public amends by funding extensive scientific research under the auspices of Michael Blakey; creating a new subagency, the Office of Public Education and Interpretation; truncating the building plan; and funding public reports on the story of the African Burial Ground. The efforts led to the creation of a new unit of the National Park Service, The African Burial Ground National Monument, at the facility. GSA fully funded that portion of the National Park Service until 2010, when GSA's formal involvement with the African Burial Ground ceased.
Truncating strings with variable length characters using functions like `strncpy` can produce invalid sequences at the end of the string. This can be unsafe if the truncated parts are interpreted by code that assumes the input is valid. Support for Unicode literals such as `char foo[512] = "φωωβαρ";`(UTF-8) or `wchar_t foo[512] = L"φωωβαρ";` (UTF-16 or UTF-32, depends on ) is implementation defined, and may require that the source code be in the same encoding, especially for where compilers might just copy whatever is between the quotes.
In 1963 and 1964, the California Division of Highways implemented a major renumbering of its state highways. The majority of sign routes—those marked for the public—kept their numbers; the main changes were to the legislative routes, which had their numbers changed to match the sign routes. Many formerly unsigned routes received sign numbers corresponding to their new legislative numbers. A smaller change was the removal and truncating of many U.S. Routes in favor of the Interstate Highways (designated in 1959), and the renumbering of State Routes that conflicted with Interstate numbers.
Despite DDOT's assertions in August, on October 24, 2010, D.C. officials unveiled a revised master plan for the DC Streetcar system which showed the Anacostia Line's northern end truncating at the Anacostia Metro Station (rather than connecting with the 11th Street Bridges). DDOT officials said they expected ridership on the Anacostia Line to be very low, because the new line was so short (now just ) and connected only the Navy Annex with the Metro station. In January 2012, The Washington Post reported that the line was still planned to run along Firth Sterling Avenue.Ho, Catherine.
This was most apparent with the Pantrado 2 design that used many facets to approximate the desired curvature. This would have worked even better through the use of cast armour, but casting would have been too expensive. In fact that was even true for the complex form of the Pantrado 2; the Pantrado 3 therefore showed a simplified hull shape, reducing the number of welds; a comparison has been made with the T-34 design. In cross-section the hull was essentially a hexagon and the intersection formed by the truncating glacis, or sloped frontal plate, was therefore hexagonal too.
The Volkswagen Jetta A1 is the first generation of the Volkswagen Jetta compact car, produced by Volkswagen. Although the Golf reached considerable success in the North American markets, Volkswagen observed the hatchback body style lacked some of the appeal to those who preferred the traditional three- box configuration. The styling of the 1970 AMC Gremlin was controversial for truncating the Hornet sedan, but Volkswagen stylists reversed the process by essentially grafting a new trunk onto the tail of the Golf to produce a larger Jetta saloon. The Jetta became the best-selling European car in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Pagnol quotes André Chéron and Germaine de Sarret's book. Eustache Dauger de Cavoye claims to be dying when he describes himself as a "poor man leading a languishing life that is soon to end […]." Marcel Pagnol deduces that in July 1669 King Louis XIV and Louvois, knowing that Eustache Dauger de Cavoye had been interned for approximately one year, gave his name (truncating it) to the man arrested and taken to Calais, who was the prisoner in the iron mask. Marcel Pagnol states that Eustache Dauger de Cavoye died in detention in 1679, without however quoting any document proving this.

One can also carry out the theory to higher order in the Knudsen number. In particular, the third-order contribution f^{(2)} has been calculated by Burnett. In general circumstances, however, these high- order corrections should be approached with caution, given that the Chapman–Enskog expansion may not always converge. (On the other hand, the expansion is thought to be at least asymptotic to solutions of the Boltzmann equation, in which case truncating at low order still gives accurate results.) Even if the higher order corrections do afford improvement in a given system, the interpretation of the corresponding hydrodynamical equations is still debated.
Curious Fox Retrieved ; 2011-02-06 The OS maps show that a cottage once sat in the field opposite the mill entrance, most probably the miller's dwelling. The mill pond is now an infilled area near Helenton Mote, following the closure of the mill in the late 19th century. A footpath is shown on OS maps as running down from Underhill and then crossing the Pow Burn at the old mill. In 1884, three-quarters of a mile of the Catcraig Road was removed from Helenton Mains to Benacres, thereby truncating the route following the closure of the corn and sawmill at Helenton.
The widely used Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpCas9) nuclease is effective, however it induces unwanted off-target mutations at high frequencies. Several engineering and screening methods have been described in an effort to reduce genome-wide off- target mutations including nuclease mutation, protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) sequence modification, guide RNA (gRNA) truncation and novel nuclease discovery. For example, in 2013, Fu et al. reported that by truncating the gRNA from <20 bp in length to 17 or 18 bp the target specificity of the nuclease increased up to 5,000 fold and mismatch occurrences above 3 bases rarely, if ever occurred.
Channel iron deposits are typically partly eroded and currently are from between <1m to 100m thick, with preserved channel widths of between 100m and >5 km. Mineralised channels are up to 150 kilometres in length, but not all of the preserved length of the CID is of ore grade. Channel iron systems typically form within a depression on the Cenozoic ‘Hamersley Surface’, and form several pods downstream on the palaeodrainage. The channels show typical fluvial sedimentary morphology, with channel scours truncating or incising the channel iron deposits, and rare examples of graded bedding, and so on.
However, these mutations were not found in Chinese and Japanese women making it a less common explanation for POF in the region. The POF syndrome is a highly heterogenous clinical disorder but a recent study showed the first homozygous mutation associated with NOBOX loss- of-function. One patient out of 96 population diagnosed with POF in China was found with one novel homozygous truncating variant in the NOBOX gene. This truncated variant caused a defective transcriptional activation of GDF9, a well-known target of NOBOX, which led to the lost ability of NOBOX to induce G2/M arrest.
The highway was designated in 1970, replacing Arizona State Route 464 and Utah State Route 47 as well as a portion of the old alignment of US 160 in Utah. In 1981, US 191 was routed over the northern section of US 163, effectively truncating the northern terminus to Bluff, Utah, from Crescent Junction. The state of Utah briefly had plans for a different routing of US 163 north of Bluff. These plans were rejected, resulting in discrepancies between the signed route and the official designation by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials that were not resolved until 2008.
Down syndrome fetuses and neonates with one of the cited types of GATA1 truncating mutations are in rare cases asymptomatic (i.e. silent TMD) but more commonly exhibit in utero or during the first months of live accumulations of immature megakaryoblasts in, and sometimes life-threatening injury to, the fetal blood- forming organ, the liver, and other tissues. While fatal in up to 20% of cases, ~80 of infants with TMD fully recover from the diseases within 4 months. However, ~10% of individuals with a history of symptomatic or silent TMD develop DS-AMKL within 4 years.
This express train was, numbered 6355/6356, introduced during the 1999–2000 Railway Budget as a new weekly train extending the Tiruchirappalli – Howrah Superfast Express, thereby truncating the service of the latter from tri–weekly to bi–weekly. The train connecting Howrah/Kolkata in West Bengal and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu made its inaugural run on 1 July 2000. This train was converted to Superfast category and re-numbered to 2665/2666 from 1 December 2006 onwards. Later, the train number was changed to 12665/12666 from December 2010 onwards as a part of train management system over the entire Indian Railways network.
SH-34 remained in place; the two highways were concurrent from northwest of Eldorado to the Red River bridge, where they both ended. On January 5, 1987, the redundant section of SH-34 was removed, truncating it to its current southern terminus. The final modification to SH-34 occurred just under a month later, on February 2, 1987, when SH-34 was realigned in Elk City to follow I-40 instead of the old alignment of the now-dead US-66, which had become a business loop of I-40. No further changes have taken place since then.
A rectified cube is a cuboctahedron – edges reduced to vertices, and vertices expanded into new faces A birectified cube is an octahedron – faces are reduced to points and new faces are centered on the original vertices. A rectified cubic honeycomb – edges reduced to vertices, and vertices expanded into new cells. In Euclidean geometry, rectification, also known as critical truncation or complete-truncation is the process of truncating a polytope by marking the midpoints of all its edges, and cutting off its vertices at those points. The resulting polytope will be bounded by vertex figure facets and the rectified facets of the original polytope.
Hash-based k-Anonymity has been largely developed by Junade Ali, initially for preventing Compromised Credential Checking and later for real-time anonymisation of MAC addresses. This approach works by taking a cryptographic hash of one dimensional data and truncating the hash such that there are at least k - 1 hash collisions. This approach allows for efficient anonymised searching of large datasets, such as breached passwords. This approach can further be used to provide a formally demonstrable level of anonymity to privacy-sensitive data, allowing a precise trade-off to be made between information leakage and functionality.
In November 1963, a small, two-lane portion of the northwest quadrant of the belt route opened from Redwood Road (SR-68) in Davis County west and south to 2100 North, north of the Salt Lake City International Airport. This portion of road was extended east to I-15 in North Salt Lake and upgraded to freeway standards by 1969. Construction of the southeast quadrant from I-80 (at the time replacing US-40) at Parley's Canyon to 4600 South in Holladay began in mid-1965. This involved realigning Wasatch Boulevard to parallel the route and truncating that road at 3300 South.
Founder MYBPC3 mutations have been reported in Iceland, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, France and Finland, where they represent a large percentage of cases with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. All of them are truncating mutations, resulting in a shorter protein, lacking the regulatory phosphorylatable M motif and/or major binding domains to other sarcomeric proteins. A body of evidence indicates that patients with more than 1 mutation often develop a more severe phenotype, and a significant fraction of childhood-onset hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(14%) is caused by compound genetic variants. This suggests that a gene-dosage effect might be responsible for manifestations at a younger age.
A great understanding of how MYBPC3 mutations lead to the development of inherited cardiomyopathy came from the analyses of human myocardial samples, gene transfer in different cell lines, naturally-occurring or transgenic animal models and more recently disease modeling using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived cardiac myocytes. Although access to human myocardial samples is difficult, at least some studies provided evidence that truncated cMyBP-Cs, resulting from truncating MYBPC3 mutations are not detectable in human patient samples by Western- immunoblot analysis. This was supported in heterozygous Mybpc3-targeted knock- in mice, carrying the human c.772G>A transition (i.e.
Later, new knock-out mutants of the Apc gene were engineered. A truncating mutation at codon 716 (ApcΔ716) results in a mouse that develops more than 300 polyps in the small intestine, while truncation at codon 1638 (Apc1638N) results in the formation of about only 3 polyps in the same region of the gastrointestinal tract. More recently a new mutant Apc mouse model was constructed in which multiple polyps form in the distal colon. In this model mutation in the Cdx2 gene in the ApcΔ716 mouse model shifted the formation of the polyps from the intestine to the colon, resembling the human FAP.
Sector 10, excavated by Humphrey, and the burial deposits excavated by Roche in the 1950s, form a contiguous and spatially demarcated collective burial area with dozens of closely spaced burials. The presence of both articulated and disarticulated bones indicates extensive use and reuse of the burial area with evidence of secondary burial and selective bone removal being practiced, often disturbing or truncating earlier burials. Some burials were covered by large stones preventing future disturbances by burials. The Roche excavations originally estimated that they had recovered the remains of approximately 180 individuals, but subsequent research adjusted this estimate to between 35 and 40 individuals.
Moore explained the length of some of the album's songs: "We all have different aesthetics as to how songs should work. I generally push for a lot of abandon while some people in the group are more interested in truncating things. If I was the leader as much as people say I am, every song would be 20 minutes long". The unlisted ninth track, officially called "Becuz Coda", was originally part of the song "Becuz", but the record label felt they needed to cut the seven-and-a-half-minute track to make the album's opening more accessible.
For small values of ε (10−6 to 10−8) the errors introduced by truncating the Gaussian are usually negligible. For larger values of ε, however, there are many better alternatives to a rectangular window function. For example, for a given number of points, a Hamming window, Blackman window, or Kaiser window will do less damage to the spectral and other properties of the Gaussian than a simple truncation will. Notwithstanding this, since the Gaussian kernel decreases rapidly at the tails, the main recommendation is still to use a sufficiently small value of ε such that the truncation effects are no longer important.
Generally speaking, the problem of optimizing a non-submodular pseudo-Boolean function is NP-hard and cannot be solved in polynomial time with a simple graph cut. The simplest approach is to approximate the function with a similar but submodular one, for instance truncating all non-submodular terms or replacing them with similar submodular expressions. Such approach is generally sub-optimal, and it produces acceptable results only if the number of non-submodular terms is relatively small. In case of quadratic non-submodular functions, it is possible to compute in polynomial time a partial solution using algorithms such as QPBO.
Gene Amdahl's seminal 1964 article on IBM System/360 used "1K" to mean 1024. Figure 1 gives storage (memory) capacity ranges of the various models in "Capacity 8-bit bytes, 1 K = 1024" This style was used by other computer vendors, the CDC 7600 System Description (1968) made extensive use of K as 1024. Thus the first binary prefix was born. Another style was to truncate the last three digits and append K, essentially using K as a decimal prefix similar to SI, but always truncating to the next lower whole number instead of rounding to the nearest.
Insertional inactivation focuses on suppressing the expression of a gene by disrupting its sequence with an insertion. When additional nucleotides are inserted near or into a locus, the locus can suffer a frameshift mutation that could prevent it from being properly expressed into polypeptide chain. Transposon-based Insertional inactivation is considered for medical research from suppression of antibiotic resistance in bacteria to the treatment of genetic diseases. In the treatment of genetic diseases, the insertion of a transposon into deleterious gene locus of organism's genome would misalign the locus sequence, truncating any harmful proteins formed and rendering them non-functional.
Dr. Irv Bromberg has proposed a 353-year cycle of 4,366 months, which would include 130 leap months, along with use of a progressively shorter molad interval, which would keep an amended fixed arithmetic Hebrew calendar from drifting for more than seven millennia. It takes about 3 centuries for the spring equinox to drift an average of th of a molad interval earlier in the Hebrew calendar. That is a very important time unit, because it can be cancelled by simply truncating a 19-year cycle to 11 years, omitting 8 years including three leap years from the sequence.
To expand the blast radius for ammunitions testing at Fort Custer, MDOT rerouted the BL I-94/M-37 to run along the southern and eastern edges of the airport in Battle Creek instead of following roads on the opposite sides. This change was completed in 2015. MDOT and the Grand Traverse Road Commission (GTRC) announced in August 2019 that the GRTC would take over ownership of M-37 on the Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City effective May 1, 2020. Once the change was completed, MDOT would remove M-37 from the US 31 concurrency through Traverse City, truncating the highway to terminate in Chums Corners.
The current size of a file was maintained in the file's File Control Block (FCB) by the operating system. Since many application programs (such as text editors) prefer to deal with files as sequences of characters rather than as sequences of records, by convention text files were terminated with a control-Z character (ASCII SUB, hexadecimal 1A). Determining the end of a text file therefore involved examining the last record of the file to locate the terminating control-Z. This also meant that inserting a control-Z character into the middle of a file usually had the effect of truncating the text contents of the file.
This left the old narrow-gauge line over Marshall Pass as a local route. Narrow-gauge trains operated between Salida and Grand Junction until the Montrose-Grand Junction tracks were standard-gauged in 1906, truncating the narrow-gauge line to a Salida-Montrose route. Narrow-gauge trains 315 and 316, carrying coaches and a parlor car, operated between Salida and Montrose until August 1936, when the Gunnison-Montrose portion of the route was discontinued. That autumn, however, the Rio Grande decided to upgrade its remaining narrow- gauge passenger trains, and renovated 38 passenger cars for use on its Salida- Montrose and Alamosa-Durango routes.
A family quartet was found with two children, both affected with a previously unreported disease, characterized by progressive muscular weakness and cardiomyopathy, with normal intelligence. During the course of the study, one additional unrelated patient was found with a comparable phenotype. From whole-genome sequence data, RBCK1, a gene encoding an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, was identified as the most likely candidate gene, with two protein-truncating mutations in probands in the first family. Sanger sequencing identified a private homozygous splice variant in RBCK1 in the proband in the second family, yet single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping revealed a 1.2Mb copy-neutral region of homozygosity covering RBCK1.
The 2020–21 Premiership Rugby will be the 34th season of the top flight of English domestic rugby union competition and the third to be sponsored by Gallagher. The competition will be broadcast by BT Sport for the eighth successive season with five games also simulcast free-to-air on Channel 5. Highlights of each weekend's games are to be shown on Channel 5 with extended highlights on BT Sport. Due to changes to the global rugby calendar implemented this year and the COVID-19 pandemic truncating the previous season, this season features a later start and later finish and will take place over a reduced timeframe of 32 weeks.
The Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 introduced the Interstate Highway System to the United States and the plan called for a highway along the eastern bank of the Missouri River along and parallel to the existing US 75 corridor. Construction began in the late 1950s near Sioux City and Council Bluffs on what would become the Interstate 29 corridor in Iowa. As portions of the new interstate were completed the US 75 designation was moved off its two-lane highway onto the Interstate. In 1984, proposals to AASHTO by the Nebraska Department of Roads recommended truncating the designation of US 73 on its northern end back to Dawson.
Over half of individuals with mutations in the gene did not inherit it from either parent, and thus have a de novo mutation. JAG1 mutation types include protein truncating (splice site, frameshift, and nonsense), missense, and whole gene deletions accounting for 80%, 7%, and 12% respectively. Since all mutation types lead to a patient phenotype, it is thought that haploinsufficiency for JAG1 is the likely disease mechanism of action. Although individuals can have a range of mutation types in JAG1, all of the known mutations lead to loss of the function of one copy, and, there is no correlation between mutation type or location and disease severity.
Soon after invading the USSR, German troops discovered that their wheeled transport vehicles were unsuitable for the sparse road network, particularly in the muddy conditions of the rasputitsa. Only half tracks like the Sd.Kfz. 11 could haul supplies to forward units in these conditions, but removing them from their combat role for supply duties was not feasible, so it was decided to produce half-tracked versions of standard Opel, Daimler-Benz, Alfa-Romeo and Ford trucks (lorries) by removing their rear axles, truncating the prop shafts and connecting them to redundant Panzer I track assemblies. Heavier trucks (4 tons payload) were fitted with Panzer II track assemblies.
Nothing to Fear possesses a more hard-edged sound than the band's previous releases, featuring louder electric guitar and percussion, an increased and more varied use of synthesizers and the introduction of sequencers on some tracks. The songs also feature an unorthodox range of instruments, some of which were designed and built by the band. Initial vinyl pressings of the album contain a different mix of the song "Private Life," featuring more prominent bass guitar and xylophone. The single version, which was subsequently used on all re-releases of the album, is 27 seconds shorter than the initial album mix, truncating the transition into the chorus, among other alterations.
Henri Padé In mathematics a Padé approximant is the "best" approximation of a function by a rational function of given order – under this technique, the approximant's power series agrees with the power series of the function it is approximating. The technique was developed around 1890 by Henri Padé, but goes back to Georg Frobenius, who introduced the idea and investigated the features of rational approximations of power series. The Padé approximant often gives better approximation of the function than truncating its Taylor series, and it may still work where the Taylor series does not converge. For these reasons Padé approximants are used extensively in computer calculations.
Proof-of-concept of exon skipping was recently shown in homozygous Mybpc3-targeted knock-in mice. Systemic administration of AAV-based AONs to Mybpc3-targeted knock-in newborn mice prevented both systolic dysfunction and left ventricular hypertrophy, at least for the duration of the investigated period. For the human MYBPC3 gene, skipping of 6 single exons or 5 double exons with specific AONs would result in shortened in-frame cMyBP-Cs, allowing the preservation of the functionally important phosphorylation and protein interaction sites. With this approach, about half of missense or exonic/intronic truncating mutations could be removed, including 35 mutations in exon 25.
In 1927, the state took over maintenance of the highway between the Maryland border and Newark. When Delaware designated its state highways by 1936, the current alignment of DE 279 was designated as the westernmost part of DE 2, which ran from the Maryland border through Newark and continued east to Wilmington. The portion of DE 2 along Elkton Road between the Maryland border and Newark was widened into a divided highway in 1972. In 2013, DelDOT proposed the renumbering of routes in and around Newark, which involved truncating DE 2 from the Maryland border to the eastern edge of Newark and the removal of DE 2 Bus.
Starring Benson's wife, Constance Benson and Benson himself as Petruchio, Benson followed Daly's example in rewriting and restructuring, such as truncating the Bianca subplot. Unlike Daly, however, Benson also removed the Induction. The production was very much a farce, with the emphasis on broad physical comedy in which Petruchio athletically leaps about the stage terrorizing a relatively passive Katherina. In its early days, it received generally strong reviews, but by 1910, the political climate had changed somewhat; the 1909 Stratford by- election had seen suffragette protests, and henceforth some critics expressed discomfort with Benson's use of farce to depict what had now become a socially relevant situation.
A realignment approved January 1968 took I-280 onto its current route. This ran along what had been SR 1, SR 82, State Route 87 and I-480 (downgraded to a State Route then), ending at Interstate 80 at the west end of the Bay Bridge. This change was made on the state level in 1968, restoring SR 1 to its current alignment and truncating SR 82, SR 87 and SR 480. For the scenic portion, the section of I-280 between SR 85 (Cupertino) and SR 84 (Woodside) was completed in the late 1960s. The section between SR 92 (San Mateo) and SR 84 was not completed until the 1970s.
Most notorious of all, the station dropped Late Night with Conan O'Brien from 1994 to 1996, leaving Houston as the largest market in the country to not air the program, with reruns of various tabloid talk shows including the aforementioned Ricki Lake and Jenny Jones, tabloid news programs such as Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, and even a repeat of KPRC-TV's 10 p.m. newscast often filling the void. While Late Night did return to KPRC-TV in 1996, the station continued to delay its broadcast as far back as 2:40 a.m. (even truncating the broadcast of its late- night news program, NBC Nightside, in the process).
The truncated mean is a useful estimator because it is less sensitive to outliers than the mean but will still give a reasonable estimate of central tendency or mean for many statistical models. In this regard it is referred to as a robust estimator. For example, in its use in Olympic judging, truncating the maximum and minimum prevents a single judge from increasing or lowering the overall score by giving an exceptionally high or low score. One situation in which it can be advantageous to use a truncated mean is when estimating the location parameter of a Cauchy distribution, a bell shaped probability distribution with (much) fatter tails than a normal distribution.
While there is a modest increase in compression performance of JPEG 2000 compared to JPEG, the main advantage offered by JPEG 2000 is the significant flexibility of the codestream. The codestream obtained after compression of an image with JPEG 2000 is scalable in nature, meaning that it can be decoded in a number of ways; for instance, by truncating the codestream at any point, one may obtain a representation of the image at a lower resolution, or signal-to-noise ratio – see scalable compression. By ordering the codestream in various ways, applications can achieve significant performance increases. However, as a consequence of this flexibility, JPEG 2000 requires codecs that are complex and computationally demanding.
When the state highway system was first signposted in 1919, M-56 was assigned to roadways that ran northeasterly from the Ohio state line to the Belleville area. When the United States Numbered Highway System was created on November 11, 1926, the southern section between the state line and Monroe was redesignated as a section of US 25. In the 1940s, the northern end was rerouted north from New Boston to follow M-112 along the Willow Run Expressway (now I-94 and part of the Detroit Industrial Freeway) into Belleville north to US 112. In late 1954 or early 1955, the northern end was changed again, this time truncating the highway to end at New Boston.
State Route 137 (SR 137) is a hidden concurrency that overlaps US 23 between the US 11W (West Stone Drive) interchange and the Virginia state line, all within Kingsport. Established in 1970 as a four-lane divided freeway, it traversed between SR 354, in Johnson City and SR 93, in Kingsport. SR 137 then expanded in phases: In 1973, extended south to US 11E/US 19W; in 1976, extended south to SR 91; in 1978, extended south to US 321; by 1980, extended north to US 11W; and in 1985, extended north to the Virginia state line and south to Erwin. In December, 1985, I-181 was established, truncating SR 137 to its current routing today.
In numerical analysis and scientific computing, truncation error is the error made by truncating an infinite sum and approximating it by a finite sum. For instance, if we approximate the sine function by the first two non-zero term of its Taylor series, as in \sin(x) \approx x - \tfrac16 x^3 for small x, the resulting error is a truncation error. It is present even with infinite- precision arithmetic, because it is caused by truncation of the infinite Taylor series to form the algorithm. Often, truncation error also includes discretization error, which is the error that arises from taking a finite number of steps in a computation to approximate an infinite process.
M-96 was rerouted in downtown Battle Creek to one-way streets in 1958, and Bus. US 12/M-96 was extended by the end of the decade when the I-94/US 12 freeway was completed in the area. Bus. US 12 was redesignated as BL I-94 in 1960 and M-96 was shortened to end at BL I-94/M-78 running on Capital Avenue. M-37 was reextended in 1961 in Battle Creek to a concurrent routing with M-96 in 1961. M-89 was extended along the roadway used by M-96 west of Battle Creek to M-37 in 1965, truncating M-96 in the process.
DelDOT began a program to pave the last of the state-maintained dirt roads within Delaware in the mid 1990s, which at the time totaled . The last dirt road in the state to be paved was Spicer Road (Road 240) near Ellendale in Sussex County in 2002. Since 2000, DelDOT has eliminated several concurrencies in the state in order to reduce motorist confusion. Among the changes made included truncating US 113 from Dover to Milford to eliminate an overlap with DE 1, removing DE 20 from heading into Fenwick Island along DE 54, shortening the length of DE 2 through Newark to avoid several concurrencies, and removing DE 41 from a concurrency with DE 2 in Prices Corner.
Wilson played his provincial cricket for Otago, as an all-rounder - both a hard-hitting batsman and a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. His international appearances were in four games of a One Day Internationals (ODI) series against Australia in the 1992–93 season, and again in an ODI series in 2005. The arrival of the Super 12 rugby competition - which overlaps the cricket season by more than six weeks - forced him to decide early on which international career to pursue, truncating his cricket career. On 22 February 2005, against Australia he played his first ODI match after nearly twelve years, which is a world record for the longest gap between two consecutive ODIs.
The latter commissioned some watercolors from him. He was one of the collaborators of a masterwork La basilica di S. Marco illustrata nella storia e nell'arte (1878–93), published by Ferdinando Ongania. Prosdocimi made the drawings of the Basilica that were used in chromolithographs by Ongania. Gubernatis wrote about Prosdocimi's vedute of The Baptistery: > by regularity of line and perspective, by evidence of light effects, has the > mathematical exactness of remembered paintings, but it stands out for > revealing very intensely the poetry of the atmosphere, which Prosdocimi > profoundly feels without truncating the original feeling; while among the > Venetians he has an individuality, calculated and devived from the studies > of concepts and technique.
On New York City's ESPN-owned WEPN, Mike Tirico originally aired only for its first hour, followed by Smith's local show from 2–3 pm and his national show from 3–4 pm; following Smith's departure, Tirico & Van Pelt began airing in the country's largest market in its entirety, with Michael Kay adding another hour, taking over Smith's national hour. In January 2009, Kay's show expanded earlier again, to 2 pm, truncating T&VP; back to one hour in the New York market. As part of a programming overhaul, ESPN Radio moved Tirico & Van Pelt from its 1–3 pm Eastern slot to 2–4 pm Eastern on March 16, 2009, discontinuing Van Pelt's solo hour.
BLAKE is a cryptographic hash function based on Dan Bernstein's ChaCha stream cipher, but a permuted copy of the input block, XORed with round constants, is added before each ChaCha round. Like SHA-2, there are two variants differing in the word size. ChaCha operates on a 4×4 array of words. BLAKE repeatedly combines an 8-word hash value with 16 message words, truncating the ChaCha result to obtain the next hash value. BLAKE-256 and BLAKE-224 use 32-bit words and produce digest sizes of 256 bits and 224 bits, respectively, while BLAKE-512 and BLAKE-384 use 64-bit words and produce digest sizes of 512 bits and 384 bits, respectively.
It was described by the White's son-in-law, Graham Douglas Mylne, as a grand, comfortable house with large rooms, fresh breezes, and views over Moreton Bay. The entrance to Lota House faced south, but the principal rooms overlooked the bay to the east. A dairy was located on the southwest corner of the house, truncating the surrounding ground floor verandahs. The ground floor comprised a large entrance hall with drawing and dining rooms to the right, an office and staircase leading to the upper level on the right, a small sitting room at the end of the hall, next to which was a bootroom, and a pantry beneath the staircase, from which access to a cellar was gained.
HKDF extracts a pseudorandom key (PRK) using an HMAC hash function (e.g. HMAC-SHA256) on an optional salt (acting as a key) and any potentially weak input key material (IKM) (acting as data). It then generates similarly cryptographically strong output key material (OKM) of any desired length by repeatedly generating PRK-keyed hash- blocks and then appending them into the output key material, finally truncating to the desired length. For added security, the PRK-keyed HMAC- hashed blocks are chained during their generation by prepending the previous hash block to an incrementing 8-bit counter with an optional context string in the middle before being hashed by HMAC to generate the current hash block.
Since the extended route would have two junctions with the parent route (I-95), a route number with an even-numbered first digit was considered more appropriate. On September 22, 2018, the first stage of the interchange opened, providing a high-speed link allowing for I-95 to be routed onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike to connect to the New Jersey Turnpike, truncating the eastern terminus of I-276 to the new interchange and completing I-95 from Miami to the Canadian border. However, there remains no access between I-295 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276, nor between I-295 westbound and I-95 northbound and vice versa. The next stage of the project will complete the movements at the interchange.
Mutations in the FGD1 gene cause phenotypes associated with the X-linked recessively transmitted faciogential dysplasia (FGDY) also known as Aarskog- Scott syndrome, a human developmental disorder that can occur with neurological problems. The disease phenotypes are due to improper bone formation and is more often seen in males though the severity depends on age. Mutations in the FGD1 gene are randomly distributed in all the domains of the protein product, modifying the intracellular localization and/or the GEF catalytic activity of FGD1. Up to 2010 twenty distinct mutations have been reported, including three missense mutations (R402Q; S558W; K748E), four truncating mutations (Y530X; R656X; 806delC; 1620delC), one in-frame deletion (2020_2022delGAG) and the first reported splice site mutation (1935þ3A→C).
Most commonly, these discrete values are represented as fixed-point words (either proportional to the waveform values or companded) or floating-point words. Discrete cosine waveform with frequency of 50 Hz and a sampling rate of 1000 samples/sec, easily satisfying the sampling theorem for reconstruction of the original cosine function from samples. (The effects of quantization are too subtle to be seen in this graph.) The process of analog-to-digital conversion produces a digital signal. The conversion process can be thought of as occurring in two steps: # sampling, which produces a continuous-valued discrete-time signal, and # quantization, which replaces each sample value by an approximation selected from a given discrete set (for example by truncating or rounding).
The forewings are rosy white, profusely sprinkled with brownish fuscous. There is an olivaceous brown patch at the base, much wider on the dorsum than on the costa, its outer edge oblique and somewhat clearly defined, its surface sprinkled, especially towards the base, with whitish scales. At about one-third a strong olivaceous brown costal patch, dilated obliquely outward and downward to the fold, is terminated at its outer extremity by a blackish spot. Beyond the middle a triangular olive-brown costal patch is terminated by a line of blackish scales truncating its apex on the cell, where it is joined by a fawn-ochreous patch extending to the dorsum, but sprinkled about the end of the fold with olive-brown scaling.
Adobe adopted the basic btoa encoding, but with slight changes, and gave it the name Ascii85. The characters used are the ASCII characters 33 (!) through 117 (u) inclusive (to represent the base-85 digits 0 through 84), together with the letter z (as a special case to represent a 32-bit 0 value), and white space is ignored. Adobe uses the delimiter "`~>`" to mark the end of an Ascii85-encoded string, and represents the length by truncating the final group: If the last block of source bytes contains fewer than 4 bytes, the block is padded with up to three null bytes before encoding. After encoding, as many bytes as were added as padding are removed from the end of the output.
Under most assumptions, the mutation accumulation theory predicts that mortality rates will reach close to 100% shortly after reaching post-reproductive age. Experimental populations of Drosophila Melanogaster, and other organisms, however, exhibit age-specific mortality rates that plateau well before reaching 100%, making mutation accumulation alone an insufficient explanation. It is suggested instead that mutation accumulation is only one factor among many, which together form the cause of ageing. In particular, the mutation accumulation theory, the antagonistic pleiotropy hypothesis and the disposable soma theory of ageing are all believed to contribute in some way to senescence Somatic accumulation of protein truncating variants (PTVs), a form of deleterious or loss of function mutations, may account for only a small fraction of mortality and morbidity acceleration in humans.
The SVD operation, along with this reduction, has the effect of preserving the most important semantic information in the text while reducing noise and other undesirable artifacts of the original space of A. This reduced set of matrices is often denoted with a modified formula such as: :::::::A ≈ Ak = Tk Sk DkT Efficient LSI algorithms only compute the first k singular values and term and document vectors as opposed to computing a full SVD and then truncating it. Note that this rank reduction is essentially the same as doing Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on the matrix A, except that PCA subtracts off the means. PCA loses the sparseness of the A matrix, which can make it infeasible for large lexicons.
A rectangular wing, housing the early Session House, abuts the northern end of the building, also with principal entrance to Ann Street. The unglazed terracotta tiled roof of the church is gabled over the nave and transepts, with the Session House separately gabled with end to Ann Street. Complementing the forms of the steeply pitched gabled roofs, is a square planned tower at the principal corner of the site, and turned through 45°, thus truncating the corner of the building and providing a suitable position for a corner entrance. The tower houses the principal semicircular arched doorway at ground level, accessed via several concrete steps, above which are several elongated rectangular and small circular openings with large semicircular arched openings near the cornice line.
In 1976, several reroutings and renumbering took place in the Muskoka area. As a result, the portion of Highway 69 between Brechin and Foot's Bay was renumbered as Highway 169, while the entirety of Highway 103 between Coldwater and Foot's Bay was renumbered as Highway 69\. Until the 1980s, the highway extended through Sudbury to Capreol, but was then truncated at a junction with Highway 17's route through Sudbury along what is now Municipal Road 55; this portion was subsequently truncated again in 1995 upon the completion of the Southwest and Southeast Bypasses, onto which Highway 17 was rerouted. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Highway 400 was gradually pushed north to its current terminus by twinning Highway 69, gradually truncating Highway 69's length.
Shortly after the election was held on 21 July 2015, without the participation of the opposition, main opposition leader Agathon Rwasa proposed the formation of a national unity government, while warning of the potential for more violence and armed rebellion against Nkurunziza. As conditions for participating in such a government, Rwasa said that Nkurunziza's third term would need to be greatly truncated to no more than a year and new elections would have to be held, although he admitted that he doubted Nkurunziza would accept those conditions. He also urged those hoping to oust Nkurunziza through violence to instead focus on dialogue. The government welcomed the idea of forming a national unity government, but rejected the notion of truncating Nkurunziza's new term.
Gogar depot in October 2012 Following further disputes and delays, it was reported in March 2010 that Edinburgh Council was considering cancelling the contract with Bilfinger Berger. By June 2010, the project's cost had risen to £600 million. Council project managers were reported to be in crisis talks, considering options including: borrowing £55 million to fund the increased costs; phasing the introduction of the tram line, so that trams would initially run between the airport and Haymarket; and terminating the contract with Bilfinger Berger. The council asked TIE to draw up costs for truncating the line at four places: Haymarket station, York Place, the foot of Leith Walk or Ocean Terminal. Work resumed in May 2011 at priority locations, Haymarket Yards and Gogar, while the project's future was decided by the council.
Compared to yeast PNGase proteins, which had been previously studied at the time of this experiment, mice PNGase proteins have an extended N-terminus that contains a PUB domain. By truncating PNGase amino acids 1-171 (which compose the N-terminus), Lennarz and his team found this additional domain was not sufficient to bind ms4 by itself, indicating that the entirety of the N-terminus is required for proper binding. The C-terminal domain, which was found to bind mHR23B, was also analyzed by Lennarz and his team. They discovered that binding to mHR23B is likely what activates the C-terminal catalytic domain of PNGase. Binding of these two proteins was also found to govern the interaction between mHR23B and p97, another protein involved in the proteasome degradation pathway.
Mutations anywhere within the unusually long sequence of this gene can cause premature stop codons or other defects. Titin mutations are associated with hereditary myopathy with early respiratory failure, early-onset myopathy with fatal cardiomyopathy, core myopathy with heart disease, centronuclear myopathy, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2J, familial dilated cardiomyopathy 9, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and tibial muscular dystrophy. Further research also suggests that no genetically linked form of any dystrophy or myopathy can be safely excluded from being caused by a mutation on the TTN gene. Truncating mutations in dilated cardiomyopathy patients are most commonly found in the A region; although truncations in the upstream I region might be expected to prevent translation of the A region entirely, alternative splicing creates some transcripts that do not encounter the premature stop codon, ameliorating its effect.
Mick Ralphs' open-C tuning was originally an open-G tuning, which listed the initial six overtones of the G note, namely G–G–D–G–B–D; Ralphs used this open-G tuning for "Hey Hey" and while writing the demo of "Can't Get Enough". The open G tuning G–G–D–G–B–D was used by Joni Mitchell for "Electricity", "For the Roses" and "Hunter (The Good Samaritan)". Truncating this tuning to G–D–G–B–D for his five-string guitar, Keith Richards plays this overtones-tuning on The Rolling Stones's "Honky Tonk Women", "Brown Sugar" and "Start Me Up". The seven-string Russian guitar uses the open-G tuning D–G–B–D–G–B–D, which contains mostly major and minor thirds.
In quantum chemistry, the multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) method consists of a configuration interaction expansion of the eigenstates of the electronic molecular Hamiltonian in a set of Slater determinants which correspond to excitations of the ground state electronic configuration but also of some excited states. The Slater determinants from which the excitations are performed are called reference determinants. The higher excited determinants (also called configuration state functions (CSFs) or shortly configurations) are then chosen either by the program according to some perturbation theoretical ansatz according to a threshold provided by the user or simply by truncating excitations from these references to singly, doubly, ... excitations resulting in MRCIS, MRCISD, etc. For the ground state using more than one reference configuration means a better correlation and so a lower energy.
This section through the cotton country of eastern Arkansas was flat and largely straight, except where it passed through Crowley's Ridge west of Paragould. Its eastern terminus was then the Missouri state line at the St. Francis River, where it continued as Missouri Route 25 toward Kennett, Missouri. Some sources continue to claim that Highway 25 ends at US 67/AR 34 at Walnut Ridge. Though this was the original west end of U.S. 412 when established in 1982 from Highway 25 east of Walnut Ridge, it was later extended west across Arkansas along the former Black Rock-Walnut Ridge segment of Highway 25 (including its concurrency with U.S. 63 from Black Rock to Portia), thus truncating Highway 25 at Black Rock where it meets the present U.S. 63-412 concurrency.
It was renamed again for slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. on January 15, 1971. In 2003, the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced that, as part of its DC Streetcar system, it would build a "Anacostia Line" as a demonstration of streetcar technology in the city. The line was planned to begin at Bolling Air Force Base, travel up north along South Capitol Street to the Anacostia Metro station, along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE to Good Hope Road SE, and then along the CSX railroad tracks to the Minnesota Avenue Metro station. However, in October 2010 the city scaled back the Anacostia Line, truncating the northern end of the line so that it would only end at the Anacostia Metro station.
The lead units and trail units were in the range A1 to FE (hexadecimal), that is, the same as their range in the ISO 2022 encodings, but with the high bit set to 1. These encodings were reasonably easy to work with provided all your delimiters were ASCII characters and you avoided truncating strings to fixed lengths, but a break in the middle of a multibyte character could still cause major corruption. On the PC (DOS and Microsoft Windows platforms), two encodings became established for Japanese and Traditional Chinese in which all of singletons, lead units and trail units overlapped: Shift-JIS and Big5 respectively. In Shift-JIS, lead units had the range 81–9F and E0–FC, trail units had the range 40–7E and 80–FC, and singletons had the range 21–7E and A1–DF.
In her initial book on disability theoryRethinking Disability (2004, with co- author Stephen Gilson, she discussed the essentialist nature of current diversity categories with a particular focus on disability, showing the value foundation and political and economic purpose of “disability category” assignment and social, professional and community response. Her subsequent works, also co-authored with Gilson, include The Human Experience (2007), applying legitimacy theory to understanding theories of human description and explanation and their purposive, political use in diverse “helping professional” and engineering worlds. In her most recent writin she andGilson, apply design theory and practice to the analysis of diversity categories, their membership, and their maintenance. She argues that current approaches to understanding and responding to diversity are grand narratives that advantage the market and professional economy while perpetuating difference and inter- group struggle, truncating social justice and limiting equality of opportunity.
8.3 filenames are limited to at most eight characters (after any directory specifier), followed optionally by a filename extension consisting of a period and at most three further characters. For systems that only support 8.3 filenames, excess characters are ignored and if a file name has no extension, the , if present, has no significance (that is, and are equivalent). Furthermore, in these systems file and directory names are uppercase, although systems that use the 8.3 standard are usually case- insensitive (hence will be equivalent to the name ). However, on non-8.3 Operating Systems (such as almost any modern operating system) accessing 8.3 File Systems (including DOS-formatted diskettes, but also including some modern memory cards and networked file systems) the underlying system may alter filenames internally to preserve case and avoid truncating letters in the names, for example in the case of VFAT.
At the same time, the northern bypass of Green Bay was under construction and I-43/US 141 was open from Maribel to Branch northwest of Manitowoc; US 141 was truncated to end at the northern end of the Sheboygan bypass. I-43 was initially completed in 1981, and the southern terminus of US 141 was moved again, truncating the highway to end in Bellevue by 1983. In 1986, the states in the Great Lakes region created the LMCT as part of a larger program of tourist routes in the region; US 141 carries the LMCT between the northern I-43 junction in the Green Bay area north to the split with US 41 at Abrams. In the first years of the 21st century, US 141 was expanded to a four-lane expressway northward from Abrams to Oconto Falls.
A combination of these may allow the cold classical belt to be reproduced even in simulations with more violent instabilities. If Neptune's rapid precession rate drops temporarily, a 'wedge' of missing low eccentricity objects can form beyond 44 AU. The appearance of this wedge can also be reproduced if the size of objects initially beyond 45 AU declined with distance. A more extended period of Neptune's slow precession could allow low eccentricity objects to remain in the cold classical belt if its duration coincided with that of the oscillations of the objects' eccentricities. A slow sweeping of resonances, with an exponential timescale of 100 million years, while Neptune has a modest eccentricity can remove the higher-eccentricity low-inclination objects, truncating the eccentricity distribution of the cold classical belt objects and leaving a step near the current position of Neptune's 7:4 resonance.
Then the preset AV delay (in this case 150 ms) is corrected by the amount the measured LA-Vp interval is deviating from the target value (70 ms in AV block and 50 ms in congestive heart failure patients, respectively). The resulting AV delay (prolonged if LA-Vp is shorter, shortened if LA-Vp is longer than the target value) is the approximate optimal AV interval for atrial sensing. After programming this optimal AV delay, the best possible approximation of the interval LA-Vp to the target value can be checked in the LAE. AV-Delay Optimierung Measuring of „negative“ LA-Vp interval of -18 ms in VDD operation in a patient with Medtronic CRT system using the Biotronic ICS3000 programmers left heart electrogram feature. In this case, factory SAV of 100 ms presents an “unphysiologically short” AV delay truncating or even excluding an atrial contribution to the left ventricular filling.
Highway 38 was first assumed by the Department of Highways on April 25, 1934, connecting Highway 2 with Highway 7. While the department initially constructed some diversions to improve the alignment of the route, which followed several concession roads north of Cataraqui, the route remained relatively unchanged from when it was established to when it was decommissioned. One notable change, made soon before the highway was to be downloaded to the municipalities, was to rebuild the section in Kingston Township between Highway 2 and Highway 401, as a four-lane road on an alignment one block east of the former highway (now Midland Avenue, Kingston), in order to connect directly with Gardiners Road (formerly Frontenac County Road 6). This section (which serves an industrial park) was the first to be decertified as a provincial highway, truncating the road to run between highways 7 and 401 only.
Sound Transit selected their preferred route for the light rail line in 1999, choosing to serve the Port of Seattle's planned North End Airport Terminal, a multi-modal facility with a direct connection to the airport's Satellite Transit System, and a potential station at South 184th Street to serve the city center. The light rail project exceeded its budget in 2001, leading to Sound Transit truncating the line at South 154th Street in Tukwila, north of the airport, where shuttle buses would pick up passengers headed for the airport terminal. Sound Transit adopted the new terminus in November 2001, allowing for construction to begin on the light rail system, while also authorizing a plan to extend light rail to the airport by 2009. The North End Airport Terminal, originally scheduled to open in 2002, was shelved after the September 11, 2001 attacks and subsequent fall in air travel.
State voters approved Referendum 49 in November 1998, including state motor-vehicle excise tax revenue for city-run transit in Everett and Yakima. While Everett Transit gained $4.5 million (equivalent to $ in ) in new annual funding, CT was set to lose $1 million (equivalent to $ in ) over the next five years in addition to the $2 million (equivalent to $ in ) used to operate service within Everett annually. The large cuts brought on by the passing of Initiative 695 and subsequent loss of excise tax revenue forced both agencies to consider merging in 2000, with savings of an estimated $1.7 million per year (equivalent to $ in ) according to a study commissioned by Community Transit. As a result of the failed mergers, CT proposed truncating its routes at Everett city limits, but ultimately decided to provide limited-stop service on its routes through Everett to the newly constructed Everett Station in 2002.
Despite the well-established need to replace `strcat` and `strcpy` with functions that do not allow buffer overflows, no accepted standard has arisen. This is partly due to the mistaken belief by many C programmers that `strncat` and `strncpy` have the desired behavior; however, neither function was designed for this (they were intended to manipulate null-padded fixed-size string buffers, a data format less commonly used in modern software), and the behavior and arguments are non-intuitive and often written incorrectly even by expert programmers. The most popular replacement are the `strlcat` and `strlcpy` functions, which appeared in OpenBSD 2.4 in December, 1998. These functions always write one NUL to the destination buffer, truncating the result if necessary, and return the size of buffer that would be needed, which allows detection of the truncation and provides a size for creating a new buffer that will not truncate.
Construction of light rail was originally proposed in the 1996 Sound Move measure, with plans to open a line from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to the University District in 2006. However, Sound Transit in the 1990s was plagued with continually escalating costs, include an agreement with the University of Washington to install dampeners on the rails that run under the science buildings, air cushions to tables in the science buildings, and to mitigate environmental impacts due to construction and traffic impacts from having the station on university grounds. In 1999, Sound Transit chose their preferred route for the light rail system, including a tunnel between downtown, First Hill, Capitol Hill and the University District with a crossing under Portage Bay; the tunnel under Portage Bay was later deemed too costly and risky in 2000, and later dropped in favor of alternative options crossing the Montlake Cut. Due to many missteps, Sound Transit shortened the line in 2001 from the original to , truncating the line to Downtown Seattle.
Washington Boulevard from Ogden through North Ogden was originally designated as part of SR-1 in 1910. This route originally continued north along Washington Boulevard before turning northwest through Pleasant View along what is now Pleasant View Drive, meeting with SR-204 near the Utah Hot Springs at the Weber County-Box Elder County border. This route became US-91 and US-30S in 1926, and the US-89 designation was added in the late 1930s. In 1945, Route 1 (as well as the US route designations) were realigned to follow the diagonal stretch of SR-204 along what is now US-89, truncating SR-204 in the process, and at the same time, SR-235 was created along the former routing of SR-1 through Pleasant View. In 1969, at the same time as a mass-deletion of minor highways, State Route 235's northwestern stretch along Pleasant View Drive was removed from the highway system, and the route was realigned so that it now turned west in North Ogden, very near its current northern terminus.
In Germany, the film was released under the title Die Geisterstadt der Zombies (). The German theatrical version was the only version of the film in which the pre-credit sequence was printed in color; in the Italian and international versions, the sequence was printed in sepia. In the United States, the film was released and marketed under the title 7 Doors of Death The Beyond did not see a U.S. release until 1983, when it was acquired for theatrical distribution by Terry Levine of Aquarius Releasing, a New York City-based distributor who had previously handled regional distribution for John Carpenter's Halloween (1978). Levine purchased the U.S. distribution rights for around $35,000, and spent an additional $10,000 on additional post-production work, which included replacing Frizzi's music with a new score by Mitch and Ira Yuspeh, as well as truncating it by several minutes in order to achieve an R-rating. Aquarius released this alternate version of the film in the United States on 11 November 1983 under the title 7 Doors of Death.
While U.S. 70B was active, U.S. 70 continued its concurrency with I-30 past Exit 132 to Exit 141B, where it returned to its original route. U.S. 67 also moved to I-30 when U.S. 70B was created, thus making its concurrency with I-30 continuous from Exit 114 to the end of I-30. Both concurrencies were shared with U.S. 65 & 167 beginning at Exit 138B (Pine Bluff-El Dorado, now the beginning of Interstate 530). However, many Arkansas state highway maps continued to show U.S. 70B as U.S. 67 & 70, and sometimes even as the I-30 business loop (years after it was officially deleted). Although I-30 signs at Exit 132 still refer to University Avenue as U.S. 70B and claim U.S. 70 East continues on I-30 East, and I-30 signs at Exit 141B refer only to U.S. 70 East (U.S. 70 West formerly joined I-30 West at that exit), all signs on the business loop were changed back to U.S. 70 in the mid-2000s, thus officially truncating U.S. 70's concurrency with I-30 at Exit 132.
M-139 was designated as a state trunkline by 1931 from US 31 at Scottdale to US 12 in Benton Harbor. In late 1953 or early 1954 M-139 was extended westward along US 12 and then northward along Paw Paw Avenue to meet a new bypass routing of US 31 north of Benton Harbor. US 31 was rerouted to follow what is now the I-196 freeway in 1963. At that time, US 31 was then routed along I-94 and M-139 to Scottdale. The following year, the concurrency was removed when M-139 was truncated to end at I-94/US 31. The northern extension on Paw Paw Avenue was turned back to local control, truncating the northern end of M-139 to the intersection with BL I-94 (previously US 12). On August 27, 2003, the St. Joseph Valley Parkway freeway carrying US 31 was completed from northwest of Berrien Springs (exit 15) to Napier Avenue near Benton Harbor (exit 24). The former section of M-139 replaced by US 31 was once again designated M-139, with M-139 extending further along the former US 31 to the freeway's exit 15.
The Hardy Players (1908–1928) was an amateur theatrical company, based in Dorchester, Dorset. The group holds a unique place in literary history, due to its close relationship with the novelist Thomas Hardy, who adapted his novels for live performance in collaboration with the group, in some cases making significant changes to the story, such as changing the ending of The Trumpet Major, truncating Return of the Native and making many other changes to the text to better fit dramatisation. Indeed, Hardy wrote his play The Famous Tragedy of the Queen of Cornwall specifically to be performed by the Hardy Players.. The Hardy Players premiered many of Hardy’s novels on stage. The notes and amendments that Hardy made to the novels for the adaptations, and his reasons for doing so, are of potential interest to anyone who studies Hardy as a literary figure.. The Hardy Players’ situation, as Dorset natives, was of great significance to Hardy. As Norman Atkins put it: “This was the true Hardy, portrayed by people who lived and breathed the atmosphere of Egdon Heath and Wessex”.. Hardy’s novels and short stories are filled with examples of folklore – customs, songs, superstitions, witches and mummers plays.
Between February 1948 and April 1949, US 441 was designated on SR 31 from south-southwest of Pearson to Dublin. Between July 1957 and June 1960, the northern terminus of SR 31 was extended north-northeast on US 319/US 441 to Dublin, truncating SR 117; east- northeast on US 80/US 319/SR 26/SR 29 to North Dublin; and on US 319 to Wrightsville, since SR 15 was shifted eastward. In 1989, SR 822 was established from just south of the CSX railroad tracks in Dublin north- northwest to US 80/US 319/SR 26/SR 29/SR 31 (Bellevue Avenue). An unnumbered road was proposed from US 319/US 441/SR 31 (Telfair Street/Jefferson Street) and SR 19 (also part of Jefferson Street) east-northeast to the southern terminus of SR 822. In 1992, the path of SR 31 in Dublin was shifted east- southeastward, off of US 319/US 441/SR 19 and US 80/US 319/SR 26/SR 29, and onto the unnumbered road and replaced SR 822. In 1994, part of Inner Perimeter Road was established from US 41/SR 7 southeast of Valdosta to US 221/SR 31 in the northeast part of the city.
When US-189 was created in 1938, it overlapped US-40 between Heber and Kimball Junction, but it was soon modified to leave US-40 at Hailstone and follow what is now all SR-32 through Kamas to Wanship.Rand McNally Auto Road Atlas, 1946 For a time, US-189 was moved back to the 1938 routing, with US-189 Alternate on the Kamas route,Utah State Road Commission (Rand McNally), Utah Official Highway Map, 1956 but by the 1977 renumbering it was back in Kamas, eliminating SR-151 and truncating SR-35. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) built a relocation of US-40 in the late 1980s to bypass the valley that would be filled by the Jordanelle Reservoir. UDOT had intended to keep what is now SR-32 as US-189 via building a new connection along the north shore of the reservoir. Part of the route south of the connection to the new road would be designated an extension to SR-35 and the rest would be given to the county. However, Summit and Wasatch Counties did not wish to maintain the roadway west from Francis, and the Federal Highway Administration pointed out that the realignment of US-189 would take it out of the way by more than 15 miles (24 km).
