Ahead of the new season, Easton's playing time increased, playing in the left-back position, after Fox left for Southampton, and he stated he expected to earn his chance in the first team. Later in the season, Easton established himself in the first team for the first half; however, he soon went down in the queue for selection, due to the arrival of Daniel Lafferty and good form of Kieran Trippier and Ben Mee. Manager Eddie Howe said Easton had no future at Burnley and would leave the club and will not be offered a new deal when his current deal expired, which took place in May 2012.

He hired Ernie Garner to build a sophisticated sequencing "computer" that could control 8 Kodak Carousel projectors in various ways to create a more sophisticated multiscreen show, similar to what was being done at World's Fairs and split screen movies of the day. This type of work was considered "industrial AV" which was not embraced by the "trippier" competitors. Gand's background in electronics, and science allowed him to create more sophisticated imagery generation. The Incredible Lightshow was the house provider at Heads Up in Roundlake IL which presented national acts from the "Fillmore" circuit when they traveled from CA to NY. He and Joan Burnstein (later Gand) also did theme specific shows for the Margot Grimmer Dance Company.

Trippier was first called up by England at under-18 level in November 2007 for an international friendly against Ghana at the Priestfield Stadium, Gillingham. He made his debut in the 2–0 victory, coming on as a late substitute for Seth Nana Twumasi. He then progressed to the under-19 squad in November 2008 for the 2009 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification match against Albania, making his debut in the 3–0 win in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. He was a mainstay in the team as the squad qualified for the 2009 UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals in Ukraine, and was named in the squad for the finals of the tournament.

Alexander-Arnold then made his debut in the competition on 28 June, starting in a 1–0 group-stage defeat to Belgium, after both sides had already confirmed their progression to the knockout stages. In doing so, he became only the fourth teenager to start a match for England at a World Cup. It remained, however, his only appearance as Kieran Trippier was preferred at right-back and featured throughout as England were defeated by Croatia in the semi- finals, and then again by Belgium in the third place play-off. On 15 November 2018, during a friendly international, held in honour of Wayne Rooney, Alexander-Arnold scored his first senior international goal as England recorded a 3–0 win over the United States at Wembley Stadium.

On 19 November 2011 against Derby County at Pride Park, Liam Rosenior advanced from right back all the way to the edge of the Derby box before feeding Matty Fryatt. He had beaten the offside trap and finished confidently past Frank Fielding. On 26 November 2011 against Burnley at the KC Stadium, Cameron Stewart received the ball tight to the left touchline, beat Kieran Trippier for skill and pace before crossing low for Matty Fryatt to finish from close range at the near post. A break-away started by Paul McKenna, passed through Robert Koren and fed to Fryatt resulted in the striker blasting home his second goal of the game, although Grant in the Burnley goal will surely have been disappointed with his attempts to keep the shot out.

The one song that does not fit into either the ballads classification or the psychedelic soul classification is the Temptations' cover of the Gladys Knight & the Pips version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine". Stripped to its rhythm track, the Temptation's version of "Grapevine" retains the tempo of Knight's hit version, but uses a less gospel based and more pop/blues based vocal arrangement. After receiving positive critical reception for his new production style, and winning the Temptations a Grammy with "Cloud Nine", Whitfield would take the Temptations even further away from "My Girl" and onwards towards trippier singles such as "Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down", the #1 hit "I Can't Get Next to You", "Psychedelic Shack", and "Ball of Confusion (That's What the World Is Today)".

On 29 November, he earned his first clean sheet for Burnley in a 4–0 win over Ipswich Town. On 10 January 2012, Burnley boss Eddie Howe expressed interest in signing Mee on a permanent basis with Manchester City sanctioning a sale just days after signing former Manchester City teammate Kieran Trippier who was also on loan at the club. Mee joined on a permanent three=and-a-half- year deal on 17 January for an undisclosed fee. His season ended after suffering a slight back fracture which he sustained during a 5–1 win over Portsmouth. In combination of his loan spell and permanent spell at Burnley, Mee finished his season with 31 appearances. In the 2012–13 season, Mee started his season when he appeared sporadic at the start until he scored his first goal for the club, in a 2–2 draw against Millwall on 28 September 2012.
