Attacktix requires only the collectible figures. Based on a two- player system, each with three main figures, or of an assortment of figures with an equal sum of "point value," the objective of the collectible miniatures game is to be "the player with the last figure standing." Each figure has a certain "tix," or speed, that it can move; on each turn, the player moves his or her Attacktix by moving the base along a surface and hearing a clicking sound. Afterwards, the player can then attack with up to two figures, either by swinging a figure with a melee weapon or shooting a figure with a projectile.

FreeSurfer interoperates easily with the FMRIB Software Library (FSL), which is a comprehensive library for image analysis, written by the Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB) group at Oxford, UK. The functional activation results obtained using either the FreeSurfer Functional Analysis Stream (FS-FAST) or the FSL tools can be overlaid onto inflated, sphered or flattened cortical surfaces using FreeSurfer. Data from Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM) can be integrated into FreeSurfer data sets through tools included in the FreeSurfer package. FreeSurfer also uses toolkits from MNI MINC, VXL, Tcl/Tk/Tix/BLT, VTK., KWWidgets and Qt, Developer's Guide which are all available with the distribution.

The game was invented by the Danish mathematician Piet Hein, who introduced it in 1942 at the Niels Bohr Institute. Although Hein later renamed it to Con-tac-tix, it became known in Denmark under the name Polygon due to an article by Hein in the 26 December 1942 edition of the Danish newspaper Politiken, the first published description of the game, in which he used that name. The game was independently re-invented in 1948 by the mathematician John Nash at Princeton University. According to Martin Gardner, who featured Hex in his July 1957 Mathematical Games column, Nash's fellow players called the game either Nash or John, with the latter name referring to the fact that the game could be played on hexagonal bathroom tiles.

Some 200 new plays are premiered in San Francisco each year, many going on to wider success. Theatre Bay Area’s present membership is derived from 12 Bay Area counties (the 9 counties plus Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Joaquin counties) and consists of more than 365 Bay Area theatre and dance companies, from multimillion-dollar organizations to grassroots community groups; some 3,000 individuals, including actors, directors, designers, playwrights, technicians and theatre patrons; and more than 100 organizational members, from libraries and universities to theatre industry professional services. Theatre Bay Area’s most prominent programs include TIX Bay Area (“online or in line” ticketing services), Theatre Bay Area magazine (the central source for information on the Bay Area’s theatre community), numerous re-granting programs for emerging theatre companies and local theatre artists, their Web site containing comprehensive theatre listings available in the Bay Area, and advocacy for the theatre and dance community on the local, state, and national level.
