Roman riding Stunt riding at the King of the Ranges competition day, Murrurundi, NSW Trick riding refers to the act of performing stunts while riding a horse, such as the rider standing upright on the back of a galloping horse, using a specially designed saddle with a reinforced steel horn, and specialized kossak loops for hands and feet. The horse is likewise galloping free. Trick riding is NOT the same as equestrian vaulting which is an internationally recognized competitive sport, governed by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI).

Scrambling and sections of modest difficulty climbing lead to the Upper Saddle, with a sub- peak known as The Enclosure (+) to the west and the west wall of Grand Teton to the east. From the Upper Saddle ropes are usually used by novices traversing exposed ) cliffs along the west flank, but the section is generally considered non-technical. Features such as the "Belly Roll" and "The Crawl", where climbers usually straddle a rock fin for several yards, lead to the Double Chimney. The chimneys, the most complex section of the climb and oftentimes icy, yield to a steep scramble to the summit.

On top of this, the saddle is overgrown with an invasive species, gorse, while the Mission blue requires lupine as its host plant. The environmental consulting firm, Thomas Reid Associates (TRA) crafted the plan and work to carry out the HCPs biological program and monitors the results. There is access to another tramping area called the Greenstone and Caples Tracks from Lake Howden Hut near The Divide. This area gets much less rain than the Milford Sound, and the forests are very different, especially on the eastern side of the saddle, which due to less rainfall is predominantly made up of New Zealand red beech and mountain beech, with relatively few ferns. From here one can continue to Sgurr na Sgine or follow the line of an old dry-stone dyke northeast to get back to the top of the stalker's path to Glen Shiel. The walker not wishing to combine the ascent of The Saddle with Sgurr na Sgine will find that a rewarding day can be had by continuing westwards over the smaller tops of The Saddle and descending to Shiel Bridge about five kilometres northwest of the starting point above.

Mount Churchill was first climbed in 1951 by R. Gates and J. Lindberg, but the peak was merely an unnamed satellite of Mount Bona at the time. The mountain was named in 1965 by the Alaska State Legislature for English statesman Winston Churchill. In terms of elevation, it is a major North American peak, at well over ; however, in terms of topographic prominence or isolation, it is less significant, with less than a 1200-foot drop from its summit to the saddle with Bona. Churchill also lies on the northern, gentler side of the Bona massif, making it a less visually spectacular peak than some of the lower outliers of Bona such as University Peak or Aello Peak.

Maungahaumi is a mountain in the Raukumara Range in the northeast of New Zealand's North Island. To the southwest of the peak is a saddle separating the Raukumara Range from the Huiarau Range - this saddle, with its highest point at the 725 metre Traffords Hill, is crossed by State Highway 2, the main road link between Gisborne and Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty. The "Parade horse" class is a form of competition seen at horse shows and festivals in the United States and Canada where the horse is attired in elaborate forms of western-style equipment, adorned heavily with silver, and the rider is dressed in brightly colored, elaborately decorated western wear. The hooves of the horse are often covered in sequins and brightly colored ribbons may be added to the mane and tail.

Arriving in bookstores in January 1849, his The Prairie Flower, or Adventures in the Far West exploited the Kit myth, and, like Averill, quickly followed with a sequel. The feature is named after Brigadier Rosendo Porlier y Asteguieta (1771–1819), commander of the Spanish naval squadron whose flagship San Telmo sank off the island with 644 men on board including Porlier in September 1819.

The Wöllmisse near Jena-Lobeda, close to a well-known large-leaved linden The Wöllmisse is a high plateau which rises east of the Saale Valley in the State of Thuringia, Germany. The densely wooded Wöllmisse borders the Roda Valley in the South, the Saale Valley to the West, the Gembdenbachtal in the North, and the town of Bürgel and the Gleistal Valley in the East. In Bürgel, it is connected via a saddle with the formation of Jenzig-Hufeisen-Alte Gleisberg. Municipalities and districts that are within the Wöllmisse are (beginning in the North): Großlöbichau in the District of Kleinlöbichau; the Bürgel villages of Rodigast and Lucka; Schöngleina with Zinna; Schlöben with the towns of Mennewitz, Zöttnitz, Rabis, Fraitsch and Burgrabis; the Jena districts of Ilmnitz, Drackendorf, Lobeda, Wöllnitz, Ziegenhain, Camsdorf, Wenigen-Jena, Jenaprießnitz and Wogau.

Triumph Bonneville Jubilee 1977 The 1977 T140J was launched as a limited edition of 1,000 in US and an additional 1,000 in UK specification (plus 400 for Commonwealth export) of the T140V, produced to commemorate the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The idea originated with Lord Stokes who was Chairman of British Leyland and working as a consultant to the Meriden Co-operative. A silver finish with red and blue lining was used and was matched by a blue saddle with red beading. Primary drive, taillight housing and timing covers were chrome-plated and the wheel rim centres were painted and lined. US-version side panels had "One of a Thousand" written under Union Jack flag stickers, UK-version side panels had "Limited Edition", while the remaining 400 Commonwealth export bikes were badged "International Edition".

The Westphalian Dachsbracke (Westfälische Dachsbracke) is a smaller, short-legged version of the Deutsche Bracke, and very similar in size and appearance to the Drever (FCI No. 130), but 2 cm shorter (the Drever was first registered in Sweden in 1910 as the Westfälische Dachsbracke; the name was changed in 1947.) The Westphalian Dachsbracke stands about 30 to 38 cm (12 to 15 in) high at the withers. It has medium-long drooped ears, short legs, and a long tail which is set high and carried up. The coat has short fur, usually tricolor (red to yellow with a black saddle), with white markings called Bracken marks - a white muzzle, chest, legs, collar, and tip of the tail, and a blaze on the head. The chest is more narrow than the Dachshund's chest, and the legs are longer.

Ralph McQuarrie designed the concept art for the banthas, with original sketches depicting them as horse- like creatures before they were changed to be elephant-sized. With an original story written by screenwriter Adriano Bolzoni and financed by the Italian studio Rizzoli Film Productions, Fulci went to work on what would be his final spaghetti western. Fulci would later find fame as a horror film director, specifically his gore films Zombi 2 (1979) and The Beyond (1981). Filming between Murder to the Tune of Seven Black Notes (1977) and Zombi 2 (1979), his crew included many Fulci regulars including cinematographer Sergio Salvati, editor Ornella Micheli and composer Fabio Frizzi. The film's screenwriter Adriano Bolzoni was also a top Italian writer, best known for his collaboration with Ernesto Gastaldi in Sergio Martino’s Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key (1972).

For the gaucho, the horse was absolutely essential to his survival for, said Hudson: "he must every day traverse vast distances, see quickly, judge rapidly, be ready at all times to encounter hunger and fatigue, violent changes of temperature, great and sudden perils".

His other early work was mostly on westerns, including appearances as Andy Forrest in the episode "A Case of Slow" on ABC's Black Saddle with Peter Breck. On October 11, 1960, Harland and Gigi Perreau, cast as Lin and Sara Lou Proctor, play a young couple from the East who has eloped and is headed west in the second episode, "The Land Beyond", of ABC's Stagecoach West, with Wayne Rogers and Robert Bray. Harland appeared on November 3, 1960 as Mike Duane in the episode "Shorty" of NBC's The Outlaws with Barton MacLane and Don Collier. He starred in three episodes, all in 1960, on CBS's Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater: as Jack Hoyt in "Knife of Hate" with Lloyd Nolan as Dr. Elisha Pittman and Susan Oliver, as Dr. Pittman's daughter; Lee Phelps in the gripping western drama, "Killer Instinct", and Les in "The Reckoning".

The proposed No 3 line followed the Western Hutt Road, left the Wellington-Masterton Railway 12 miles 55 chains from Wellington (approximately 1.2 km south of the present day SH 2/SH 58 intersection), and climbed Haywards Hill to the saddle. It followed the road route to the "noteworthy" settlement of Pauatahanui, then climbed the left bank of the Horokiri Stream valley (the proposed Transmission Gully route), went under the saddle with a 27 chain (540 m) tunnel, and at 23 miles reached the existing route of the NIMT at McKay’s Homestead (now McKay’s Crossing of the NIMT). "The Haywards route .... was quickly dropped, although it is still on the map today (1972) as a possible connecting link between the suburban districts of Porirua and the Hutt Valley to serve the new urban developments now taking place". This proposed route would have avoided the difficult Pukerua Bay-Paekakariki coastal section of the NIMT.

However, in disciplines where the rider needs shorter stirrups for better balance and security, such as in the jumping disciplines, the saddle flap is moved proportionately forward and shortened, and the seat is moved further back. A jumping saddle will have a shorter and more forward flap than a dressage saddle, with the seat slightly more towards the cantle. If the flap was not inclined forward, the rider’s knee would hang over the flap, and the flap would constantly push the leg out of position (usually backward), so that the rider would become unstable and interfere with his horse. If the seat was not moved rearward, the rider would be forced ahead of the saddle over a fence. A racing saddle, where jockeys ride with incredibly short stirrups, will have an extremely forward and short saddle flap (almost more horizontal than vertical), and the seat will be extended well back from the pommel to keep the rider’s center of gravity correctly situated.

The AKC breed standard states that the correct coat color is either a black saddle, with a tan head, ears and legs; or a dark grizzle saddle (black mixed with gray and white). Grizzle that is a mix of red hair in the black, often on the area of back before the tail are often the best and harshest coats. There are, however, examples of non- standard black-coated and "red" (tan) coated Airedales, (the solid colored Airedales are NOT able to be AKC registered, since they are deviations from breed standard and have yet to be proven 'purebred' Airedale Terriers.) There are also the short coated "Redline" type Airedales, they appear to be genetic throwbacks in looks to the Airedale's early days when the breed's coats were much shorter than today's Airedale. Even with their shorter coat they still have the same hard wiry outer coat with a soft under coat and fall well within the criteria of the breed standard and therefore can be AKC registered and most are registered.
