Civil War soldiers, upon hearing the yell from afar, would quip that it was either "Jackson, or a rabbit", suggesting a similarity between the sound of the yell and a rabbit's scream. The rebel yell has also been likened to the scream of a cougar. In media such as movies or video games, the yell is often portrayed as a simple "yee-haw" and in some parts of the United States, "yee-ha".
After 5:00 pm, Custer's division (including Capehart's brigade) remounted, and attacked a Confederate battery. The battery was unable to shoot low enough to hit the charging cavalry, and was soon captured. The rebels responded with a Rebel yell, and soon the opposing forces were fighting in close combat using sabers. Because of their position on the field, most of the Union casualties in this encounter belonged to the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry—but a large portion of the loss was from wounds that were not lethal.

The Rebel Yell Open was a PGA Tour satellite event that played for one year at the Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee; a 7,009-yard, Donald Ross-designed course opened in 1927. The tournament, which was held in April 1968 opposite The Masters, was organized by tournament director Lonnie Nolan. The title sponsor was the bourbon company of the same name. It was won by 31-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada club professional Larry Mowry in a sudden-death playoff over Chris Blocker.
The second episode produced and broadcast, "Daisy's Song", is notable for Bo instead wearing a red shirt for much of the story. A sequence in the fifth episode, "High Octane", sees Bo dressed in a light blue shirt, and many early publicity shots see the character dressed in a darker blue denim shirt. The character of Bo was best known for his rebel yell exclamation of the catchphrase, "Yee-Haa!"; cousin Luke sometimes also performed such a yell, but on a less regular basis.
Their third album, Accept the Fact was released in June 2005 and features vocals by Timo Kotipelto, Marko Vaara, Jonna Kosonen and Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom. The soundtrack album went platinum, selling over 70,000 copies. Australian band GANGgajang were formed as a direct result of four of their members involvement as musicians/songwriters for this show: Chris Bailey, Graham Bidstrup, Mark Callaghan and Kay Bee. Cameo appearances from other Australian musicians include, The Johnnys playing Slip Slap Fishin' and Rebel Yell live in Episode 3 and Richard Clapton playing acoustic in the street in Episode 6. Kirk Pengilly from INXS appeared in Episode 7 and Chrissie Amphlett from the Divinyls popped up in Episode 8.
Racer 75 opened as Rebel Yell with Kings Dominion's grand opening in 1975. The original name paid homage to the battle cry used by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Shortly after its debut, the racing roller coaster was prominently featured in the 1977 film Rollercoaster. In 1992, the trains on one side were changed to face and run backwards, which was a similar change made on Kings Island's The Racer a decade earlier in 1982. Locals would call this reversed version of the ride the “Yell Rebel”.

Thunder Road was a wooden roller coaster located at Carowinds amusement park on the border between Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Opened in 1976 and built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, the racing roller coaster cost $1.6 million to construct and featured two identical tracks that paralleled each other. The design of the ride was based on Rebel Yell (now Racer 75), a wooden racing coaster at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia. Thunder Road was closed on July 26, 2015, to make room for expansion at the park.
He often stood in as holiday relief for Chris Tarrant, and he also hosted The Rebel Yell Rock Machine, which was syndicated across the nation's airwaves every week. Williams worked at Virgin Radio since it went on air in 1993. His first role was the Breakfast show, initially on his own, then alongside Jonathan Coleman. In October 1997, due to Chris Evans' arrival at the station, the duo went on to present the Drivetime show and in early 1998, Williams took on the mid-morning show on his own, until he finished in May 2015.
"Speed" was released on CD Maxi-single and cassette, originally in June 1994 in U.S. under British company Chrysalis Records (acquired by EMI in 1991), the usual record label of Billy Idol. In August, it was released in the UK and the rest of the world through Arista Records. The single includes three different versions of "Speed" and a live acoustic version of "Rebel Yell" (until then unreleased) accompanying the lead song only on the UK CD single release. This version not only showcases Idol's strong live voice, but Stevens frenetic and intricate guitar playing.

On that same day, What Records issued three limited-edition versions of the single in the United Kingdom; an enhanced CD single, a 7" vinyl single, and a 12" vinyl single picture disc. The single's enhanced CD version featured a cover of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell", and the music video for "Blooddrunk". Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide, the 7" vinyl version included a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lookin' Out My Back Door" as its B-side. The single's limited 12" vinyl picture disc release was distributed with 666 numbered copies, and 1,000 copies overall.

The W.L. Weller & Sons company was founded in 1849 by William Larue Weller, who pioneered using wheat instead of rye in his mash for a lighter flavor than the older style of bourbons. The W.L. Weller company merged with the Stitzel distilling company (est. 1872) to form the Stitzel-Weller distilling company in 1910. The "Rebel Yell" brand was created for Stitzel-Weller in the mid-1900s by Charles R. Farnsley (a former mayor of Louisville) around the 100th anniversary of the original Weller company, with the idea of distilling it in limited batches for exclusive distribution in the Southern United States.
In the Battle Rounds, Paula put him against Daniela Persson. Both sang "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" and Paula picked Railio to moved to the next round. In the live rounds starting on March 15, 2013, he sang consecutively "Maniac", "Rebel Yell", "Romanssi" and "Minun tuulessa soi" and in the semi-finals, "Skyfall" advancing to the finals as Team Paula finalist, alongside Suvi Aalto (Team Michael), Emilia Ekström (Team Lauri) and Ike Ikegwuonu (Team Elastinen). Although not released as a single, a music video was made for the track "Stand", a duet with daughter Miley Cyrus. Also in 2006, Billy Ray appeared with metal-rock group Metal Skool (now Steel Panther), and performed several songs including "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol, and the song "I Want My Mullet Back", which appears on Wanna Be Your Joe.

One of their labels that was introduced on the market just before prohibition was Old Rip Van Winkle.Old Rip Van Winkle After prohibition, the brand was not reintroduced until after 1972 when the Stitzel-Weller distillery and its current brand names (including W. L. Weller, Old Fitzgerald, Rebel Yell, and Cabin Still) were sold to other companies. The only brand name the Van Winkle family had kept the rights to was the pre-prohibition brand Old Rip Van Winkle.

The announcement by Kings Dominion that Grizzly would be ready to open for the 1982 season was made in a press release on March 15, 1982. The new coaster was intended to be the top thriller in the park, billed as "Taller than the park's most popular ride (Rebel Yell)" and "heaven for the real thrillseeker". Grizzly was designed by Curtis D. Summers, and is very similar to Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland, which he designed a year earlier. Both coasters are based on the Wildcat roller coaster (demolished in 1964) at the early Coney Island park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"The Kid" is a thug from Shreveport, Louisiana, who meets the Trashcan Man during the latter's journey to Las Vegas. The character drives an enhanced hot rod-style vehicle and has a fanatical love of Coors beer and Rebel Yell whiskey. The Kid is also ambitious, unstable, and easily angered, traits that the Trashcan Man discovers when the character nearly kills him for spilling a can of beer on a carpet. After becoming severely intoxicated on alcohol, The Kid forces the Trashcan Man to give him a handjob while he concurrently sodomises the Trashcan Man with a pistol.
These three stories challenged the notions of what was acceptable content in LNH stories and led to the development of a "mature audiences" label, Acraphobe. In 1993, Rebel Yell, due to events depicted in the Lurk of Faith, took a leave of absence from the LNH (never returning), leaving the Ultimate Ninja in complete control. Myk-El was revealed to be a traitor and killed by the Ultimate Ninja. The Secret Dvanders dug up Myk-El's grave, not convinced that he was indeed a traitor in Constellation #27, which set up the beginning for Retcon Hour.
The Louisiana Tigers, first raised by Major Chatham Roberdeau Wheat, had a large number of Irish American members. Company E, Emerald Guard, 33rd Virginia Infantry of the Stonewall Brigade composed of Irish immigrant volunteers may have been first to make the infamous "rebel yell" at 1st Bull Run, attacking 14th New York guns on Henry Hill. The Davis Guard, a company of mostly Irish-American men from the Houston and Galveston area, won a lopsided victory Second Battle of Sabine Pass in 1863. They received the only physical medals awarded by the CSA, made from polished Mexican silver coins and hung from green ribbons to honor their Irish heritage.
In "Dual", Micah is one of the posthumans that Nathan Petrelli provides information about to the President of the United States. In "Rebellion, Part 1: Rebel Yell", which takes place during the "A Clear and Present Danger" events, he is seen helping Monica monitoring the city as they fight crime. He listens as Monica is taken by DHS's agents, and later learns that Nana and Damon were abducted as well. After entering the government network, he manages to record the fugitives being transported into the Flight 195 (which is handed over to the press by Peter Petrelli in "Exposed"), finding out all heroes were held prisoners.
Back home, Calder is visited by FBI Agent Hoyt (Richard Widmark), who says the extortion money is to be delivered by Calder at Kings Dominion. There, Calder is ordered to wait at a telephone and the bomber calls, warning him there is a bomb in the park. He sends Calder a two-way radio so that he can keep contact, then orders Calder to go on various rides in the park such as the Rebel Yell roller coaster. While Calder is riding on the Skyway to the station near the Singing Mushrooms, the bomber tells Calder that the bomb is located in the radio.
Another Greatest Hits CD was issued in 2001, with Keith Forsey and Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)" appearing on the compilation. The LP includes a live acoustic version of "Rebel Yell", taken from a performance at Los Angeles station KROQ's 1993 Acoustic Christmas concert. The Greatest Hits album sold 1 million copies in the United States alone, providing Idol with a big comeback. In the 2002 NRL Grand Final in Sydney, Idol entered the playing field for the half-time entertainment on a hovercraft to the intro of "White Wedding", where he managed to sing only two words before a power failure ended the performance.
Richardson enlisted in Co. K, 50th Regiment Alabama Infantry50th Infantry Regiment was organized at Corinth, Mississippi, in March, 1862, by consolidating the 2nd and 5th (Golladay's) Alabama Infantry Battalions which were recently recruited. Originally mustered into Confederate service as the 26th (Coltart's) Regiment, its designation was changed to 50th in June, 1863. and was wounded in the battle of Shiloh and was taken prisoner. He escaped from prison, was caught, and about to be shot as a spy at Murfreesboro when "on the morning air there came to our ears with heartfelt welcome the famous rebel yell," and General Forrest with his "critter company" rescued him.

Whitaker is a poet and beat-generation enthusiast whose journey into the Amazon rainforest in search of psychotropic enlightenment follows in the footsteps of his predecessors William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg.
Since 1938, Maryville High School teams have used the name Red Rebels. From the 1960s onward the team name has been linked in promotional materials with the rebellion during the Civil War, such links including the use of the Confederate battle flag, images of a Confederate soldier, and references to the rebel yell. In 1999, Dr. Jeffrey Whitlow, a local doctor, filed a civil rights complaint against the school board, equating the football games with Ku Klux Klan rallies. The school board promptly changed the school's flag, but fans, almost exclusively students, continued displaying, wearing, and bringing the controversial symbol to support the rarely defeated football team.
During the next two seasons, Kings Dominion expanded Hurricane Reef behind the Rebel Yell and renamed it WaterWorks. The new portion of WaterWorks includes Pipeline Peak, a set of four enclosed water slides, one of which (the Night Slider) is the world's tallest dark free-fall slide. In 2000, Nick Central opened, replacing Nick Splat City and part of Kidzville. The park added its third launched roller coaster, Hypersonic XLC, in 2001. Hypersonic XLC, a Thrust Air 2000 air- launched coaster made by S&S; Power, launched riders from 0 to in 1.5 seconds, taking them up an 87-degree incline and down an 87-degree drop.
The Racer is a wooden, racing roller coaster located at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. Designed by the legendary John C. Allen, The Racer made its public debut at the park's grand opening in 1972. It was thrust into the national spotlight after being featured in an episode of the popular TV sitcom The Brady Bunch in 1973 and is often recognized for playing a vital role in the roller coaster renaissance of the 1970s. The Racer inspired similar designs in other roller coasters, such as Racer 75 (formerly Rebel Yell) at Kings Dominion and the now-defunct Thunder Road at Carowinds.
Organization founders Roy Brashears, Paul Greenwald and Richard Munch met at a roller coaster riding marathon event promoting the 1977 movie Rollercoaster at the Rebel Yell roller coaster (now called Racer 75) at Kings Dominion amusement park in Doswell, Virginia. The three discovered they shared the same passion for roller coasters and decided to form a club that would allow others that shared the same interests to join. They organized Coaster Con I the following year at Busch Gardens Williamsburg theme park in June 1978. On the final day of the event during a business meeting, the name American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) was chosen as the club's name.
This phenomenon first occurred on June 11, 1900, and for the next forty years cries of "Oh, R-i-i-i-n-e- HART!" (described as "Harvard's rebel yell") could be heard at random times and around the world, wherever Harvard men traveled or congregated, sometimes signalling the start of merry revelry. John Barrymore mentioned the "Rinehart!" cry in the 1939 film The Great Man Votes. The call was included by journalist George Frazier in his 1932 song "Harvard Blues" (music by Tab Smith), recorded in 1941 by Count Basie and included on the compilation The Count Basie Story, Disc 3 - Harvard Blues (2001, Proper Records).
"The British rock star Billy Idol was released from hospital in Burbank, California, after he was admitted in a critical condition from an apparent drug overdose on Friday night." Thus, this new song was an important opportunity to returns to his audience. "Speed" was composed and recorded in a short time in Los Angeles with the support of an unccredited band, possibly completed with drummer Mark Schulman and bassist Larry Seymour (live members by that time). The song is based on a similar drum tempo and guitar riff that was the basis for the "Rebel Yell" hit (1983), following the same formula in terms of feeling.
Greatest Hits is a compilation of Billy Idol's most popular singles, released by Capitol Records in 2001. The album includes two additional tracks: a live recording of one of his most popular songs, "Rebel Yell" (this live version was recorded in 1993 and appeared as a b-side for the single "Speed" in 1994), plus a new version of Idol's longtime producer Keith Forsey's "Don't You (Forget About Me)". Although Forsey originally wrote the song with Idol in mind, Idol turned it down and eventually the song was given to Simple Minds who would go on to make it a worldwide hit in 1985. Greatest Hits was certified platinum by the RIAA in 2005.
Stevens has put a lot of "weird little segues" into this album, a feature that has impressed him from albums such as Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Other influences include Jimi Hendrix, particularly on Stevens' interpretation of Robin Trower's Day of the Eagle, as well as Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, and even Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Bo Diddley, and Jeff Beck. Stevens has said that he spent a lot of time listening to bands such as Pink Floyd and Yes prior to making this album, "just soaking up what made them tick". During the recording, Stevens used the Marshall Half Stack he had previously used while recording Rebel Yell with Billy Idol.
Other popular WJBK personalities included longtime morning host Marc Avery, midday host Clark Reid and afternoon drive personality Robert E. Lee (who claimed to be an actual descendant of the legendary Confederate Civil War general and opened his show every afternoon with a "Rebel Yell"). In 1962, WJBK was granted 50,000 watts day and 5,000 watts, night. Then, WKNR "Keener 13" was launched at 1310 AM on Halloween 1963, burying the Motor City's Top 40 competition - including WJBK - in its wake with a shorter playlist and a tighter, more energetic presentation than any other station in the market. WJBK gave up the fight in 1964 and switched to an easy listening music format.
The Ultimate Ninja joined with the LNH after Cry. Sig. Somewhere along the line the leadership of the LNH became a triumvirate with Rebel Yell, Continuity Champ, and the Ultimate Ninja each taking a share of LNH power. In the Integrity Quest, written by Doug P. Wojtowicz, Stephane Savoie, and Hubert Bartels, the characters Lost Cause Boy, Kid Anarky, and Panta the cat-girl were introduced; in the tenth installment, Wojtowicz referred to a penile erection as a "woody": this caused a minor controversy dubbed "The Woody Scandal", and resulted in the ostracization of Wojtowicz. Other stories of this era also skirted the line of good taste: Gary St. Lawrence's stories Pigs in Space and Passionfishing, however, produced a much less volatile reaction.

Their second album, In the Mouth of the Young, was released in April 2006 on the band's first Major Record label, Sony BMG/RCA Records. The band also released a cover of Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell" for a local So-Cal Sampler, which also featured as a hidden track at the end of their self-titled EP, and an unreleased original B-Side "Mannequin", which is from the "One Night Stand Rock'n'Roll Band" days, was leaked onto the Internet shortly after. The band toured with the Family Values Tour 2006, along with such bands as Dir En Grey, Korn, Flyleaf, Stone Sour and Deftones. While this marked the first time opening up to such a large audience, they were previously support to Avenged Sevenfold on their City Of Evil Tour.

A site was chosen in Doswell, Virginia, north of Richmond in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic, and construction began on October 1, 1972. The new park was designed with Kings Island in mind as the blueprint using similar themes, rides, and activities. Kings Dominion officially opened on May 3, 1975, offering fifteen attractions including the Rebel Yell (later renamed Racer 75), the Lion Country Safari Monorail, Galaxie, and a junior wooden roller coaster known as Scooby Doo.
The Right Stuff (TRS) is a white nationalist, neo-fascist neo-Nazi blog founded by Enoch that hosts several podcasts, including The Daily Shoah and Fash the Nation as well Rebel Yell (named after the battle cry used by the Confederates) headed by Identity Dixie a Southern nationalist/neo-Confederate alt-right group modeled after the Identitarian movement and League of the South that is affiliated with TRS. The blog is best known for popularizing the use of "echoes", an antisemitic marker which uses triple parentheses around names used to identify Jews and people of the Jewish faith on social media. It is part of the broader alt-right movement in the United States. The Right Stuff was one of the first websites to make use of the term "cuckservative".

They released a trailer on YouTube which shows Andy recording vocals for their cover of the song "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol, which was to appear on the EP. Rebels was eventually released on December 13, 2011.
