Several mottoes found in Irish heraldry, which end in a boo, are also thought to have originated as war cries.

Wallabies pre-match war-cry On the long voyage Moran introduced the practice of team meetings that were part lecture and part brain–storming with players encouraged to voice their ideas on improving team performance. Moran stood at a blackboard and while his lecturing style was initially derided by the players he managed to instill a sense of cleverness and skill in players, creating thoughts of rugby as similar to a game of chess.Zavos p. 109. He argues that the push for war started with the Preparedness movement, fueled by big business. While big business would not push much further than Preparedness, benefitting the most from neutrality, the movement would eventually evolve into a war-cry, led by war-hawk intellectuals under the guise of moralism. Bourne believes elites knew full well what going to war would entail and the price in American lives it would cost. If American elites could portray the United States' role in the war as noble, they could convince the generally isolationist American public war would be acceptable.

In the lead up to the Rugby World Cup in 2011, flashmob hakas became a popular way of expressing support for the All Blacks. Some Maori leaders thought it was "inappropriate" and a "bastardisation" of the traditional war cry, despite its popularity. Sizeable flashmob hakas were performed in Wellington and Auckland, as well as London, which has a large Kiwi expat community. In November 2012, a Maori kapa haka group from Rotorua performed a version of the "Gangnam Style" dance mixed with a traditional Maori haka in Seoul, celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between South Korea and New Zealand.

The Wesley war cry is used for victories in sporting and other school events. The traditional Wesley send-off is used to "send off" students involved in major sporting events, and entails the introduction of participants accompanied by students stomping their feet on the wooden floor of the Joseph Green Centre. As of 2010, this has been informally named the "Woodsey Stomp" in recognition of long serving staff member, Frank Woods, who often received this applause every time he was to take the microphone at assembly. When a well-respected or prominent Wesley teacher retires from the School, a guard of honour is made on the Jenkins Quad.

Over the course of the next year the group held services, formed a small brass band, and even published five issues of their own War Cry magazine, all the while petitioning the Salvation Army's founder and international leader William Booth to send them a real Salvation Army officer. Booth eventually agreed, and in 1883 Major Alfred Wells, and Major Henry Stillwell were sent to begin the Army's work in San Francisco. Major Wells opened the Army's first building in the West, San Francisco Citadel #1, on July 21, 1883. Originally, the Western United States was classified as the Pacific Coast Division, but in 1921 was given territorial status.

The Commandos () are a special forces unit in the Portuguese Army. Presently, they constitute the Commando Regiment (Regimento de Comandos). Their motto is Audaces Fortuna Juvat (Latin for "Luck Protects the Bold") and their war cry is Mama Sumae (it can be translated as "here we are, ready for the sacrifice" – taken from a Bantu tribe of southern Angola). They were created as counter- guerrilla special forces, thus responding to the need of the Army to have units specially adapted to the type of war that, in 1961, started in Portuguese Angola and later in Portuguese Guinea (current Guinea-Bissau) and Portuguese Mozambique – the Portuguese Colonial War.

Rape and sexual violence have accompanied warfare in virtually every known historical era. Before the 19th century, military circles supported the notion that all persons, including unarmed women and children, were still the enemy, with the belligerent (nation or person engaged in conflict) having conquering rights over them.Askin, 26–27 "To the victor goes the spoils" has been a war cry for centuries and women were included as part of the spoils of war.Askin, 10–21 Institutionalised sexual slavery and enforced prostitution have been documented in a number of wars, most notably the Second World War (See #During the Second World War) and in the War in Bosnia.

In the mid-Republican army, the central tactic was a shock infantry- charge, designed to put the enemy to flight as quickly as possible. Hastati legionaries would advance at a measured pace towards the enemy line. When the gap was only around 15m, each successive line of hastati would fling their two pila, draw their swords and break into a run, yelling their war-cry and charging into the enemy line. Smashing the enemy in the face with their shield-bosses, legionaries would use their gladii to stab the enemy in the groin, belly, or face, inflicting fatal wounds in the great majority of cases.

In 1998 Avalanch expelled their lead vocalist Juan Lozano in the middle of the tour in support of La Llama Eterna, and invited García to re-join them as lead vocalist. García tried to keep working with both bands, but finally decided to break up War-Cry and go up with his work on Avalanch. Polish Coat of arms have an own name, usually coming from its old War cry or the drawing.

They even claim kinship with Saint Columba. General Lachlan MacQuarrie, the most famous member of the clan, was possibly born at Ormaig on the Mull side after his parents moved there from Ulva. After a military career, he became the first Governor of New South Wales and Australians still make pilgrimages to his mausoleum at Gruline on Mull. He was not the only MacQuarrie to lay down the plough for the sword. The men of Ulva were known in sonorous Gaelic as ‘the fierce, fearless, great- feated MacQuarries’. To complement Electronic Dream's sound and success, AraabMuzik began working on a full length official album Dream World, slated for a 2015 release. However, it ended up being delayed numerous times; he was quoted saying "I pushed it back so I could still really perfect it and work on it more, because I didn't really feel like I was satisfied with it." Dream World was released in July 2016, to generally favorable reviews. Although initially meant to sound like Electronic Dream, AraabMuzik decided to venture into a more eclectic album, catering to fans of different genres, both Electronic and Hip Hop, as well as experimental beats such as "War Cry".

They started using red phosphorus in 1855, but could not compete in price against the much cheaper white phosphorus-based matches; hence the use of child labour. After being re- contracted in the off-season, Egmolesse-Smith began the 2019 season with Richmond's VFL side where he impressed in pre-season matches in March. He continued at that level through the opening months of the season, impressing VFL coach Craig McRae with his defensive play. Though he agreed to do so, moving to the organization's headquarters, he largely remained aloof from the organization; which did take on some of his ideology and was involved in illegally circulating copies of his banned work. Though the Yūzonsha had plans to spread its radical pan-Asianist and nationalist message to university students, as a counter to the views espoused by Yoshino Sakuzō, it met with little success. The organization launched a monthly journal, Otakebi (War Cry) in August 1920, but only published three issues before ceasing publication; equally unsuccessful were its attempts to publish books, only a few pamphlets were produced.Szpilman 2011, p.

The Irish Brigade was an infantry brigade, consisting predominantly of Irish Americans, that served in the Union Army in the American Civil War. The designation of the first regiment in the brigade, the 69th New York Infantry, or the "Fighting 69th", continued in later wars. The Irish Brigade was known in part for its famous war cry, the "Faugh a Ballaugh", which is an anglicization of the Irish phrase, fág an bealach, meaning "clear the way". According to Fox's Regimental Losses, of all Union army brigades, only the 1st Vermont Brigade and Iron Brigade suffered more combat dead than the Irish Brigade during America's Civil War.

The field for the Kentucky Derby was limited to twenty horses who qualified based on points earned in the Road to the Kentucky Derby, a series of races that was first introduced in 2013. Girvin was the top point-earner in 2017 after winning both the Risen Star Stakes and the Louisiana Derby. Classic Empire, who was the early Derby favorite after winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile in 2016, finished second in the qualifying series after overcoming several setbacks to win the Arkansas Derby. The other major prep race winners were Gormley (Santa Anita Derby), Irap (Blue Grass Stakes), Irish War Cry (Wood Memorial), Always Dreaming (Florida Derby) and Thunder Snow (UAE Derby).

In the words of Donald Nicol, "it was against him [Kantakouzenos] and everything that he stood for as a millionaire and landowning aristocrat that the people rose up. 'Kantakouzenism' became their war cry, the slogan of their discontent". Thus the battle lines of the civil war were drawn up between urban and rural factions. According to Kelly Dawn Askin, the laws of war perpetuated the attitude that sexual assaults against women are less significant crimes, not worthy of prosecution. War rape has until recently been a hidden element of war, which according to Human Rights Watch is linked to the largely gender-specific character of war rape – abuse committed by men against women. This gender- specific character has contributed to war rape being "narrowly portrayed as sexual or personal in nature, a portrayal that depoliticizes sexual abuse in conflict and results in its being ignored as a war crime." "To the victor go the spoils" has been a war cry for centuries, and women classed as part of the spoils of war.

In the late 1980's, the slogan "Jai Shri Ram" was popularised by Ramanand Sagar's television series Ramayan, where it was used by Hanuman and the monkey army as a war cry when they fought the demon army of Ravan in order to free Sita. The nationalistic organisation Vishva Hindu Parishad and its Sangh Parivar allies, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, used it in their Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Volunteers at Ayodhya at the time would write the slogan on their skin, using their own blood as ink to signify their devotion. The organizations also distributed a cassette named as Jai Shri Ram, containing songs like "Ram ji ki sena chali" () and "Aya samay jawano jago" ().

The Mujahid Force is a component of the National Guard of Pakistan, and a paramilitary force of the Pakistan Army established on 9 September 1963 Under the supervision of Major General Raja Sakhi Daler Khan. The Force was raised on the concept of a Territorial Army to support and supplement the regular Army during national emergencies and war. The headquarters are in Bhimber, Azad Kashmir, established in 1992 and given the status of Mujahid Force Center in 2005. The Force badge depicts a star held up by two pointed ends of a crescent super imposed with a dagger in vertical position in clasped wrist pointing upward, resting on a scroll with a war cry inscribed in Arabic.

The decision followed criticism that some of the lyrics appeared to express gratitude to the former coloniser France, with Nigeriens on social media challenging lines three and four. A committee chaired by Prime Minister Brigi Rafini is "charged with reflecting on the current anthem by providing corrections" and "if possible find a new anthem that responds to the current context of Niger". Created in 2018, it is composed of several members of the Government and about fifteen "experts experienced in writing and musical composition". For Assamana Malam Issa, Minister of Cultural Renaissance, "We must find a hymn that can galvanize the population, be for us a kind of war cry to touch our patriotic fiber".

For more skilled ensembles, he penned many arrangements of pre- game and half-time music for the Northwestern, LSU and EMU Marching Bands, including nationally televised works performed by the Tiger Marching Band when LSU competed post-season at the Sugar Bowl (1959, 1960), the Orange Bowl (1962), the Cotton Bowl Classic (1963) and the Bluebonnet Bowl (1964).LSU Football post-season appearances His original compositions include Suite for Brass and Timpani, Three Christmas Miniatures, Ceremonial Sketch and Intravention. For Eastern Michigan University, Tyra composed Eastern Variants, the music and lyrics for Go Green!, The Pride of the Peninsula, Huron War Cry, EMU Fanfare and the break strain for the Huron (now Eagle) .

The field is blazoned accordingly with the general rules of Portuguese heraldry, but mottoes, legends and monograms are not allowed inside the shield, and partitions of the field are only allowed without any charges on them. The complete achievement of arms of an body is represented by the shield, helmet, torse, mantling and crest, scroll with motto and, optionally orders, supporters, compartment and a war cry. Alternatively, the achievement can be represented by the shield topped by the Army's coronet and optionally the crest on its top, without any other elements including the helmet. Portuguese Naval heraldry is regulated by the Office of Naval Heraldry, under the 2010 Regulation of the Heraldry of the Navy, that replaced the previous Regulation of 1972. The coat of arms of the Navy is a field azur with a dolphin argent, a naval crown or, a scroll with the war cry São Jorge (Saint George) on the top and a scroll with the motto Talant de bien faire (Talent to make good) on the bottom. This coat of arms, including its external elements, but represented in a round shield flanked by a laurel wreath in dexter and an oak laurel in sinister, constitutes the badge of the Navy.

As part of the Renaissance program of reestablishing the glory of antiquity for the Christian capital, Rome, Julius II took considerable effort to present himself as a sort of emperor-pope, capable of leading a Latin-Christian empire. On Palm Sunday, 1507, "Julius II entered Rome ... both as a second Julius Caesar, heir to the majesty of Rome's imperial glory, and in the likeness of Christ, whose vicar the pope was, and who in that capacity governed the universal Roman Church." Julius, who modeled himself after his namesake Caesar, would personally lead his army across the Italian peninsula under the imperial war-cry, "Drive out the barbarians." Yet, despite the imperial rhetoric, the campaigns were highly localized.

Salvation Army Collectables website Skeletons used banners with skulls and crossbones; sometimes there were two coffins and a statement like, "Blood and Thunder" (mocking the Salvation Army's war cry "Blood and Fire") or the three Bs: "Beef", "Beer" and "Bacca" – again mocking the Salvation Army's three S's – "Soup", "Soap" and "Salvation". Banners also had pictures of monkeys, rats and the devil. Skeletons further published so-called "gazettes" considered libellous as well as obscene and blasphemous. Several techniques were employed by the "Skeletons" to disrupt Salvation Army meetings and marches; these included throwing rocks and dead rats, marching while loudly playing musical instruments or shouting, and physically assaulting Salvation Army members at their meetings.

On 6 June 2019, Skrillex first previewed the song under the title "War Cry" while live streaming on Instagram while he was travelling to the electronic dance music festival Ultra Korea. A clip of the live stream showcasing the song was posted to the r/Skrillex subreddit, though it was reported that Skrillex announced the song's release date earlier in the live stream as the week after, this was not captured in the clip. On 16 June, the song was previewed during a live-set by TroyBoi and Skrillex at Paradiso Festival, with the song later being announced as "Warlordz". It was further announced that the song was to be released the week after.

Most of the prisoners were hanged within direct view of the well at the Bibighar and buried in shallow ditches by the roadside. Others were shot or bayonetted, while some were also tied across cannons that were then fired, an execution method initially used by the rebels, and the earlier Indian powers, such as the Marathas and the Mughals. It is unclear whether this method of execution was reserved for special prisoners, or whether it was merely done in the retributive spirit of the moment. The massacre disgusted and embittered the British troops in India, with "Remember Cawnpore!" becoming a war cry for the British soldiers for the rest of the conflict.

A more unusual horse was Faugh a Ballagh (named for Fág an bealach, the traditional war cry the Wild Geese brought with the émigré Gaelic aristocrats to armies across Europe); Faugh a Ballagh was an ex-army steed of the Royal Irish Fusiliers, with whom Moore wagered heavily. His own greatest personal feat as a jockey was to win the New Melton stakes at Cahir.

Zagor is also shown possessing an incredible speed that, paired with his almost cat-like reflexes, often allows him to catch a traveling spear or even an arrow, a feats which usually leave Indians in an awe further solidifying Zagor's status of an emissary of the Great Spirit (a superstition that Zagor uses to his advantage). Zagor can quickly cover great distances using his trademark branch-to-branch way of traveling where he jumps from one treetop to another. His war cry seems to be a roar of an unidentifiable (and presumably horrific) creature.

Jenny Eliscu of Rolling Stone referred to "Lose My Breath" a "sweat-soaked" track and a "percussive sex romp" where Destiny's Child "pant in time to a marching-band beat." Nick Reynolds of the BBC called the military drumming of the "fantastic" track "exciting" and its keyboard stabs "nasty". A writer for Vibe hailed it as a "pounding, animalistic piece of music – as urgent as a war cry" with a "thunderous tribal beat". In an album review of Destiny Fulfilled, Tom Sinclair of Entertainment Weekly felt that "Lose My Breath" opened the record with "a brisk enough start" and concluded, "While it's no 'Bootylicious,' it's got more nervous energy and verve than almost anything else here.".

Memorial in Armagh to the men of the Royal Irish Fusiliers who died in the Second Boer War The regiment was formed in 1881 as part of the Childers Reforms by the amalgamation of the 87th (Prince of Wales's Irish) Regiment of Foot and the 89th (The Princess Victoria's) Regiment of Foot. The regiment got its nickname, the Faughs, from its Irish war cry "Faugh A Ballagh" (Fág a' Bealach, meaning Clear the Way) from the Napoleonic Wars. Regimental distinctions included a green plume worn on the left side of the headdress and an Irish harp as part of the badge. It was the county regiment for Armagh, Monaghan and Cavan, with its depot at Gough Barracks in Armagh.

It has also been suggested that the phrase is a series of vocables imitating the sound of a march played on drums and bagpipes.SND:Teribus Alistair Moffat suggests in Arthur and the Lost Kingdoms (1999) that the phrase was originally the Welsh "Tir y Bas y Tir y Odin," meaning "The Land of Death, the Land of Odin", although Odin wasn't noted for his popularity amongst the Welsh. However, he also postulates that the phrase could mean "Land of Death, Land of the Gododdin" (The initial G is often elided), the Gododdin being the local Britonnic tribe of the area. References to the "war cry" teribus an teriodin do not appear much before the early 19th century.

Music journalists noted the song's sound to be a mix of Papa Roach's rock sound with more modern-pop music, a sound the band had intended to pursue upon working with music producers Nicholas "RAS" Furlong and Colin Brittain on the Crooked Teeth album. The song was also the only from the album to feature a collaboration with Jason Evigan of rock band After Midnight Project. AllMusic described the song's sound as a mix of "in-your-face guitar riffage with slick, neon-toned choruses that bring to mind the similarly adept emo-rock of bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance." Similarly, Team Rock described it as "war cry thump" with "pop tinged motifs" that are "oddly infectious".

At the same time that the Scottish Government began to use its new name, a new emblem was adopted. The earlier version featured the old name and a version of the Royal Arms for Scotland, but without the motto, the helm, the mantling, the crest, the war-cry above the crest, or the flags of Scotland and England carried by the supporters. In the rendering used, both supporters appeared to be crowned with the Crown of Scotland, whereas in the Royal Arms, the Scottish unicorn is usually shown crowned with the Scottish Crown, and the English lion with St Edward's Crown. In the September 2007 re-branding, this depiction of the Royal Arms was replaced by one of the Flag of Scotland.

Source Cazá, Cazá The first time the battle cry of Sport was hailed back to the Championship celebrations Pernambucano 1938, the year in which the Lion won another title. Vasco da Gama has a war cry similar to the Sport, with some minor changes in some verses. There it began to be hailed by 1942, by which time the legendary Ademir Menezes, greatest player in the history of Pernambucan football and one of the best in the history of world football, began playing there, with the cry of the Vasco players. Despite more than six decades ago, Cazá, Cazá never lost its vitality and originality, and it became theme music for many composers and constituted one of the trademarks of Crimson-Black crowd wherever it went.

In 2008, Cerati released two more singles from the album, "Lago En El Cielo", the fourth song on the album, and "Me Quedo Aquí," the fifth. Cerati toured Latin America, Spain and the USA to promote the album, and also performed for the very first time in London, playing at The Forum on October 12. The name "Ahí Vamos" ("There We Go") was a phrase repeated many times during the recording sessions, which came to be a war cry for Cerati during the time. In the cartoon, He-Man engaged in actual swordfights very rarely, but the film producers knew that the character was closely associated with the sword, which meant that it should feature prominently in the movie's finale. The sword doesn't play as much of a role in the early part of the film: He-Man is in his superhero form throughout the movie, and the Prince Adam alter ego is not explicitly shown to exist, so the character doesn't need to shout his war-cry with sword aloft. A statue of the Hindu deity Rama Jai Shri Ram (or Jai Shree Ram) is a Hindi expression, translating as "Glory to Lord Rama" or "Victory to Lord Rama". The proclamation has been used as an informal greeting or as a symbol of adhering to Hindu faith or for projection of varied faith-centered emotions, by Hindus in recent past. The expression was used by the Indian Hindu nationalist organisations Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and their allies, which embraced the slogan in the late 20th century as a tool of increasing the visibility of Hinduism in public spaces and went on to use it as a war cry. The slogan has since then been employed for perpetration of communal violence against people of other faiths.

The Sky Is Pink central theme of death and its acceptance was noted by many critics. The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, is based on the true story of Indian soldiers who marched towards the capital, with the war cry 'Challo Dilli', to gain Indian independence from colonial rule. The Indian National Army (INA), which was born out of Indian soldiers who defected to the Empire of Japan during WWII, was led by Subhash Chandra Bose and had the first women's infantry regiment since the Russian units of 1917–1918. Dury's 1981 song "Spasticus Autisticus" written to show his disdain for that year's International Year of Disabled Persons, which he saw as patronising and counter-productive was banned by the BBC. Dury was a disabled person himself, having been left crippled by childhood polio. The lyrics were uncompromising: So place your hard-earned peanuts in my tin And thank the Creator you're not in the state I'm in So long have I been languished on the shelf I must give all proceedings to myself The song's refrain, "I'm spasticus, autisticus", was inspired by the response of the rebellious Roman gladiators in the film Spartacus, who, when instructed to identify their leader, all answered, "I am Spartacus", to protect him. According to Professor George McKay, in a 2009 article in Popular Music called 'Crippled with nerves' (an early Dury song title): Dury described the song as "a war cry" on Desert Island Discs.

Jadhav was 23 years old, and a Sepoy in the 1st Battalion, 5th Mahratta Light Infantry in the Indian Army during World War II when the following deed took place during the Spring 1945 offensive in Italy for which he was awarded the VC. On 9 April 1945 at the Senio River, Italy, when a small party were almost wiped out in an assault on the east floodbank of the river, Sepoy Namdeo Jadhav carried two wounded men under heavy fire through deep water, up a steep bank and through a mine belt to safety. Finally, climbing on top of the bank he shouted the Maratha war cry and waved the remaining companies across. He not only saved many lives but enabled the battalion to secure the bridgehead and ultimately to crush all enemy resistance in the area.

These included "semi-liberated slaves, clients of prestigious families, a number of small craftsmen and humble workers, some peasantry and some Bedouin peoples who lived around Basrah." While he was gaining followers for his rebellion, Ali adopted slogans of the egalitarian doctrine of the Kharijites, who "preached that the most qualified man should reign, even if he was an Abyssinian slave." He inscribed his banner and coins with Kharijite expressions; and started off his Friday sermons with the slogan "God is great, God is great, there is no God but God, and God is great; there is no arbitration except by God," which was "the war cry used by the Kharijites when they defected from the ranks of Ali ibn Abi Talib during the battle of Siffin."
