Mr Denniss taught in the public schools in the Bracebridge, Ontario area (Wah Wah Taysee, Cochrane, Bracebridge, Vankoughnet, Huntsville, and Macaulay) until his retirement in 1998. He continues to live in Bracebridge, where he writes, teaches piano, and officiates at weddings and funerals. Leo (who serves as altar boy) can't stop thinking of the legend of La Nahuala during the service and his trembling causes a series of accidents that disturb mass and humiliate Fray Godofredo, the Franciscan monk who officiates mass. Despite the mess, Fray Godofredo only gently reprimands Leo and soothes his fears by assuring him that La Nahuala is dead.

For North America, the more game-specific United States Guts Players Association (USGPA) officiates. The fiftieth annual International Frisbee Tournament (IFT), held in Hancock, Michigan, June 30 - July 1, 2007, was a large guts disc tournament, drawing players from all over the United States and Canada, and for the first time, two strong teams from Japan - including “Katon”, the WFDF World Champions. As of 2007, the USGPA plans to induct some of the most outstanding players into the Guts Hall of Fame, joining Fred Morrison (inventor of the original Pluto Platter flying disc), the Healy brothers (inventors of guts and founders of the IFT), and “Steady Ed” Headrick (IFT champion and inventor of the standard “pole hole” basket used on modern disc golf courses).

He is a musician and has performed in local bands such as Mandrake, Sneaky Feet, Brix & Chinese Whispers and he sings and plays bass guitar in the rock group MP4, which is composed of four MPs, Cawsey, Peter Wishart MP, Greg Knight MP and Kevin Brennan MP. He played from 1990–97 in a well known local 60s covers band, The Moggies, the band reformed in 2011 and have established a popular local following once more. In late 1997 he had cancer which he has now overcome. He qualified as a football referee in 2010 and officiates most weekends. The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster operates an ordination mill on their website which enables officiates in jurisdictions where credentials are needed to officiate weddings. Pastafarians say that separation of church and state precludes the government from arbitrarily labelling one denomination religiously valid but another an ordination mill. In November 2014, Rodney Michael Rogers and Minneapolis-based Atheists for Human Rights sued Washington County, Minnesota under the Fourteenth Amendment equal protection clause and the First Amendment free speech clause, with their attorney claiming discrimination against atheists: "When the statute clearly permits recognition of a marriage celebrant whose religious credentials consist of nothing more than a $20 'ordination' obtained from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster... the requirement is absolutely meaningless in terms of ensuring the qualifications of a marriage celebrant." A few days prior to a hearing on the matter, Washington County changed its policy to allow Rogers his ability to officiate weddings.

At the 2015 SEA Games, Dhabitah and Ng Yan Yee won the gold medal in 3 meter synchronised springboard. In September 2015, after winning the women’s 10 meter platform individual at the 2015 Asian Diving Cup, Dhabitah earned a slot to the 2016 Summer Olympics. In February 2016, Dhabitah and Cheong Jun Hoong earned an Olympic spot in the 3 meter synchronised springboard after finishing fifth at the Diving World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. In her first event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Dhabitah and Cheong Jun Hoong finished fifth in the 3 meter synchronized springboard.
