The upland portion of Quitaque Creek is an ephemeral draw that flows only during heavy rain. Quitaque Creek initially runs southeastward across north-central Floyd County and then drops off the Caprock of the Llano Estacado approximately east of South Plains. The stream then continues in a northeasterly direction across the sparsely populated ranch lands of northeastern Floyd County. After entering Motley County, Quitaque Creek merges with Los Lingos Creek and then turns in a southeasterly direction across northwestern Motley County before merging with the North Pease River, north of Matador.

Rosmarie Waldrop has given readings and published in many parts of Europe as well as the U.S. She has received numerous awards and fellowships and was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French government. In 2003 she was awarded a grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants to Artists Award. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2006. She received the 2008 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation for her translation of Ulf Stolterfoht's book Lingos I - IX. Her translation of Almost 1 Book / Almost 1 Life by Elfriede Czurda was nominated for the Best Translated Book Award (2013).

The stories are acted out by the brothers using the voices of the children. The Roberts brothers grew up making home videos but Kid History—the flagship series on BoredShortsTV—was not created until after their success in a video competition. Randy Roberts developed the concept—a twist on another popular YouTube series "Drunk History"—and enlisted the help of his brothers to create the first episode to enter into the Lingos Film festival, a small LDS film festival in New York City, which it won gaining 80 percent of the votes. Kid History episodes feature several additional members of the Roberts extended family.

Despite accepting Aman and Anand's similar personalities, Mayank Shekhar of Mid Day felt that the film had more in common with Farhan Akhtar's directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai (2001), "in its look and lingos". Film journalists and critic, Komal Nahta, in his review of Kal Ho Naa Ho for Outlook, Ram Kamal Mukherjee of Stardust, Jitesh Pillai of The Times of India, and Paresh C. Palicha of The Hindu all agreed that the film is thematically similar to Anand. Each felt it shared common aspects with other films starring Khanna: 1970s Safar, where terminal illness is also a central motif, and Bawarchi (1972), in which the protagonist mends relationships between families and friends. Pillai also compared Shah Rukh Khan's death to Tom Hanks' in the 1993 legal drama, Philadelphia.
