Tantric is an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Ferreria is the only remaining member of the band from the original lineup. All together Tantric has released six studio albums and one EP.

This is the only studio album to feature former Fuel drummer Kevin Miller.

On After We Go, the second Tantric production by Toby Wright, the band continued their rather distinctive method of blending well- layered melodic vocals over distorted guitars. This often leads to comparisons with Seattle group, Alice in Chains, whom Wright had famously worked with. The album is slightly heavier as a whole, with the opener "Chasing After" setting the stage for the whole album. Guitarist Todd Whitener provides more vocals than on the previous album, including the lead in the chorus of the title track, "After We Go".

After leaving Days of the New in November 1998 guitarist Todd Whitener, bassist Jesse Vest, and drummer Matt Taul reached out to Massachusetts native Hugo Ferreira (formerly of the band Merge) in early 1999 to see if he would be interested in starting a new project together. The former Days of the New members had previously met Ferreira during a tour and admired his distinct baritone voice. By March that year, the four had their first practice together upon Ferreira's move to Nashville. The band started under the name C-14 but soon changed their name to Tantric.

Fury 's No. 61 Ford at Charlotte, their debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The team's driver, Kaz Grala, had been running full-time in the Xfinity Series for JGL Racing, a team that was struggling in two ways that year, with finding sponsorship and their owner James Whitener having health problems. Grala was released by JGL on May 15, 2018 with his No. 24 team shutting down, and JGL cut back to one car. Three days later, it was announced that Grala would be driving in the next four races with FURY, which is owned in part by his father Darius.

In February 1999, it was reported that while his ex-bandmates were looking for a new singer, Meeks was finishing up work on a second album tentatively titled Days of the New 2 with an expected release in late spring or early summer that year. He eventually formed a new band lineup and hired an orchestra for his sophomore effort.

As the hired hands of Meeks' first release (Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener and Matt Taul) later went on to form Tantric with vocalist Hugo Ferreira, misunderstandings as well as inaccuracies led into a general consensus being him firing his former friends. While Meeks was not a fan of their music nor appeal, he was proud of his former bandmates for achieving their success through Tantric. The incident had no influence on Meeks' drug use. Since the Release of Days of the New (2001 album) Meeks has continued writing music and uploading it on websites such as MySpace with continued usage of the Days Of The New name.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Dalton in Northwest Georgia became the tufted bedspread capital of the US thanks to Catherine Evans (later adding Whitener) who initially revived the handcraft technique in the 1890s. Plimsolls were issued to the British military (called 'road slappers' by the common soldiery) until replaced by trainers in the mid-80s. Oklahoma passed a statute prohibiting the sale of "nonintoxicating" 3.2% beer to males under the age of 21 but allowed females over the age of 18 to purchase it. The statute was challenged as Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause violation by Curtis Craig, a male who was over 18 but under 21, and Carolyn Whitener, an Oklahoma vendor of alcohol. The nominal defendant was David Boren, who was sued ex officio by virtue of his serving as Governor of Oklahoma at the time of the lawsuit. Ruth Bader Ginsburg, working as an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, advised the plaintiff's attorney, submitted an amicus brief, and was present at counsel table during oral argument before the Supreme Court.

During this time, Whitener expressed an interest in establishing an art museum in his hometown of Hickory, North Carolina. As Vice-President of the American Artists Professional League in New York, Conrow was greatly in favor of a museum that would promote American art in the south, and proved to be instrumental in the development of the eventual Hickory Museum of Art. Over the years, he would provide the museum with his knowledge of American art, New York connections, paintings from his private collection, and a large number of his own works. His portraits are characterized by an intimacy achieved through weeks of time spent with each of his subjects. Beyond physical appearance, he strove to portray character, and becoming acquainted with the subject was consistently part of Conrow’s painting process.
