The raft is then diverted through broken electrified fencing into a restricted area, where a sign announces that there are dangerous carnivores lurking about, and the riders' raft passes through deeper sections of the area as several of the escaped Velociraptors hiss at the vehicle. Before the raft enters the Hydroelectric Plant, a roar (that of a Tyrannosaurus rex) is heard in the distance and a wrecked Jurassic Park jeep is seen. Farther into the station, lights dim as a Tyrannosaurus watches the riders through a small window and lets out its iconic spine- chilling roar. As the track becomes totally dark, a beacon in the center of the raft begins to blink.

Koyelaanchal unveils itself through Saryu Bhan Singh (Vinod Khanna), an ex-owner turned Mafioso of the region, who through his sheer brutality & blatant defiance of law of the land, forces the people & the authorities to acknowledge him as their ‘maalik’. Any protest, any voice of dissent against him is dealt with spine chilling violence of epic proportions. Things get a bit difficult to handle for Saryu Bhan Singh when an upright District Collector Nisheeth Kumar (Sunil Shetty) takes charge of the region and starts asking him questions that no one dared ask him before. Caught amidst labor revolts & naxal uprisings, the last thing Saryu Bhan Singh wanted was to make enemies with the top government officer of his region.

The music video ranked at number four on the list The 15 Scariest Music Videos Ever published by Billboard in 2013. The writers summarized the clip, writing: "Evanescence compares the trappings of fame to being haunted by ghouls in this clip... Singer Amy Lee's makeup is applied by a gaggle of sinister old women, while the crowd at the band's show morphs into a ravenous pack of zombies. Lee eventually overcomes the visions - only to find that guitarist Ben Moody is a demon as well." In 2016, the song's clip was also included on the Official Charts Company's list titled "13 of the scariest, spine-chilling videos in the history of music" with writer Justin Myers calling the scenes of audience members turning into zombies "pretty freaky".

He added, "Harper's direction is visceral, the actors are having a whale of a time and it's all held together by Roger Limb's spine- chilling music. The only thing missing is a plot." Christopher Bahn, reviewing the serial for The A.V. Club, described it as "a grim, depressing slog", arguing that "Saward is simply not a strong enough writer to pull this off, failing to provide the clever dialogue, well-thought-out underlying concepts or basic plot mechanics that might have made this work, and also apparently actively hostile to the notion that anyone in Doctor Who, or watching it, should be having any fun." He felt that the subplots were not handled well and many ideas were thrown around but not explored.

Although she had appeared earlier on The Children's Hour, Wolfe is best remembered for her diverse roles on Nila Mack's WCBS Saturday morning children's program, Let's Pretend. She joined the repertory acting company in 1934 and remained with the program well into her adult years, playing spooky witches, wicked and wise queens, good and bad spirits, kind and cruel mothers and stepmothers. At 12, Wolfe auditioned to succeed the 79-year-old Adelaide Fitz-Allen in the part of the ancient witch-narrator Old Nancy on Alonzo Deen Cole's The Witch's Tale (on the Mutual Broadcasting System). Cole, puzzled at first when he saw a young girl in a straw hat and Buster Brown haircut, hired her as soon as he heard the spine-chilling, cackling laugh which became her trademark.

The duende is an earth spirit who helps the artist see the limitations of intelligence, reminding them that "ants could eat him or that a great arsenic lobster could fall suddenly on his head"; who brings the artist face-to-face with death, and who helps them create and communicate memorable, spine-chilling art.

Williams graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A in Comparative Literature in 1969, and then earned a PhD at the University of Colorado for her dissertation subsequently published as Figures of Desire: A Theory and Analysis of Surrealist Film. Her main academic areas of interest are: film history, film genre, melodrama, pornography, feminist theory and visual culture; all with an emphasis on women, gender, race, and sexuality. With respect to film genres, she argues that horror, melodrama, and pornography all fall into the category of "body genres", since they are each designed to elicit physical reactions on the part of viewers. Horror is designed to elicit spine-chilling, white-knuckled, eye- bulging terror (often through images of blood); melodramas are designed to elicit sympathy (often through images of tears); and pornography is designed to elicit sexual arousal (often through images of "money shots").
