His plays are controversial for their scant respect to royalty, religion and society, their vulgarity and scatology,Jarry, Alfred.

But Death provides an adult tonic in a season typically abandoned to the comic book cocktail. There are worse ways to escape the August heat.

The humour comes from the rejection of such taboos, and is a part of modern culture.

The book covers such topics as scatology, totalitarianism, aesthetics, fascism, the 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, Jean Genet's 1958 play The Blacks, juvenile delinquency, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Fidel Castro, masturbation, and others.
Trnka emerged into public view in 1988 when it was revealed by Wolfgang Plath that he was the composer of two minor works previously attributed to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Trnka's compositional specialization appears to have been canons, a form of music at the time often sung recreationally among friends. According to Link, at least 61 canons by Trnka survive, and all but one are to lyrics by the famous librettist Metastasio. Mozart enjoyed singing canons with his friends (see "Difficile lectu"), and particularly liked canons with humorous scatological lyrics, of which he composed several himself (see Mozart and scatology).

Rogério Tolomei TeixeiraDicionário Cravo Albin de Música Popular Brasileira (born September 2, 1956), better known by his stage name Rogério Skylab, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, lyricist, classical guitarist, poet, essayist, record producer, actor and former television presenter. However, Carey worked The Dragon of Wantley into a play in 1734. Fielding and Carey, among others, picked up the cudgels where the Tory Wits had set them down and began to satirize Walpole and Parliament with increasing ferocity (and scatology). Although a particular play of unknown authorship entitled A Vision of the Golden Rump was cited when Parliament passed the Licensing Act of 1737 (the "rump" being Parliament, a rump roast, and human buttocks simultaneously), Carey's Dragon of Wantley was an unmistakable attack on tax policy and the ever-increasing power of the London government over the countryside. Notably, Fielding's and Carey's plays made allowances for spectacle.
Gottfried Prehauser, an actor of 18th-century Vienna, playing Hanswurst Schroeder (1999) suggests that in the 18th century scatological humour was far more public and "mainstream". The German-language popular theater of Mozart's time was influenced by the Italian commedia dell'arte and emphasized the stock character of Hanswurst, a coarse and robust character who would entertain his audience by pretending to eat large and unlikely objects (for instance, a whole calf), then defecating them.Schroeder (1999:128) Schroeder suggests a political underlay to the scatology in popular theater: its viewers lived under a system of hereditary aristocracy that excluded them from political participation. The vulgarity of scatological popular theater was a counterpoint to the refined culture imposed from above.
Jim McCawley (1938–1999, professor of linguistics at the University of Chicago, who wrote his scatolinguistic treatises under the noms de plume of Quang Phúc Đông and Yuck Foo, both of the fictional South Hanoi Institute of Technology) is credited, on page ix of the preface of Studies out in left field as having "created the interdisciplinary field[s] of pornolinguistics and scatolinguistics virtually on his own" in 1967. Technically, scatolinguistics is the study of the words for various forms of excrement (compare scatology). But, given the lack of any cognates such as "pornolinguistics" (despite the above) or "coitolinguistics", it has come to cover the study (including etymology and current usage) of all rude and profane expressions.
"Panic", co- written and co-produced by the band with JG Thirlwell, is the second track on Scatology, and explores the theme of an initiatory approach to experience, as well as the using of fear; its remixed version is featured on the single's A-side. "Tainted Love", originally written by Ed Cobb and popularly known after its recording by new wave duo Soft Cell, was included as the B-side, having been drastically re-arranged to reflect HIV/AIDS epidemic, emerged in the early 1980s. The music video for "Tainted Love", directed by the band's member Peter Christopherson and featuring Marc Almond, has caused a minor controversy during its release, and has been purchased by the Museum of Modern Art.
The liner notes of Scatology feature an extended commentary on the song, allegedly written by John Balance. According to Balance, "Panic" is intended to be "about the deliberate nurture of states of mind usually regarded as dangerous and insane," and is also about "using a fear as a key [...] to crystallize and inspire." Balance also writes about a so-called "murder in reverse" that means "performing [...] psychic surgery - in order to restore the whole being." Liner notes for the single feature the similar text, and so does A Coil Magazine which was published in 1987.. A Coil Magazine editors John Sanders and Mike Gaffney interpreted the song's lyrics as a hymn to Pan as an incarnate of liberating aspect of chaos.
David Schroeder writes: > The passage of time has created an almost unbridgeable gulf between > ourselves and Mozart's time, forcing us to misread his scatological letters > even more drastically than his other letters. Very simply, these letters > embarrass us, and we have tried to suppress them, trivialize them, or > explain them out of the epistolary canon with pathological excuses.Schroeder > (1999:133) For example, when Margaret Thatcher was apprised of Mozart's scatology during a visit to the theatre to see Peter Shaffer's play Amadeus, director Peter Hall relates: > She was not pleased. In her best headmistress style, she gave me a severe > wigging for putting on a play that depicted Mozart as a scatological imp > with a love of four-letter words.
A parallel trend was "reductionism": emphasizing the basic elements of art such as colors or shapes, often in a manner that minimizes the need for artistic skill. Hicks cites White on White (1918) by Kazimir Malevich. A subsequent trend was using art as ironic or kitschy commentary: "if traditionally the art object is a special and unique artifact, then we can eliminate the art object's special status by making art works that are reproductions of excruciatingly ordinary objects", as with Andy Warhol's factory produced silk screens of consumer products. With a shift to post- modernist art in the 1970s and '80s, a preoccupation with politics, sex and scatology appears as with Piss Christ (1987) by Andres Serrano, and the performance art/punk rock musician GG Allin who became notorious for defecating on stage.

From 2007, he also directed several uncensored videos from the scatology fetish series made under the VXR label for V&R; International. Among his later works for V&R; International is the June 2008 release A Fuckwork Orange: Return of Lasses in Hell (XV-065) which combines lesbian domination and humiliation, urination, and cockroaches and maggots.
The A.V. Club wrote that Black and Gass manage "an odd simultaneous fusion of stupid and clever", while Time wrote, "The pleasures of Tenacious D... flow from a similar revelation: Black and Gass set themselves up as buffoons with titles like Karate Schnitzel, then proceed to defy expectations with precise guitars, polished vocal harmonies and slamming backup musicians". Splendid magazine said of Tenacious D, "As entertainment, Tenacious D succeeds surprisingly well – for the first few listens.... The only long-term replay value you'll get from this record will come from playing it for friends who haven't heard it." Flak Magazine criticised the band's use of skits between songs, describing them as "distracting" and a "nuisance". In addition, Andy Gill of The Independent remarked that the album was full of "swearing and scatology" and was "bereft of even the slightest skidmark of humour".
Thus, Anna Maria wrote to her husband (26 September 1777; original is in rhyme): Even the relatively straitlaced Leopold used a scatological expression in one letter. This was "to shit oranges", meaning approximately "to get upset", using in a letter written from Italy in 1770; Mieder (2003:45) Several of Mozart's scatological letters were written to his cousin (and probable love interest, according to Solomon)For a discussion of the evidence that Mozart and his cousin were in love, see Solomon (1996:161–166). Maria Anna Thekla Mozart; these are often called the "Bäsle letters", after the German word Bäsle, a diminutive form meaning "little cousin". In these letters, written after Mozart had spent a pleasant two weeks with his cousin in her native Augsburg,Schroeder (1999:87–89) the scatology is combined with word play and sexual references.
Coil holds a unique place in history of Nothing Records, being one of the first acts to sign to the label, as well as remaining one of the final acts at the end of the label, all the while having released no material during their entire tenure on the roster. John Balance and Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson founded Coil in 1982 in London, England, after collaborating on a few side projects and following their departure from Psychic TV. Other collaborators, such as Drew McDowall and Danny Hyde, would frequently record with the band, some becoming members for a time. By the time Coil arrived at Nothing Records, they had released three studio albums. Scatology and Horse Rotorvator were released on Force & Form, which was manufactured and distributed by K.422, a sister label of Some Bizzare Records.
Ian Gibson, in The Erotomaniac speculates that My Secret Life was really written by Henry Spencer Ashbee and therefore it is possible that "Walter" is a fiction. A famous German erotic work of this time, published in two parts in 1868 and 1875 entitled Pauline the Prima Donna purports to be the memoirs of the opera singer Wilhelmine Schröder-Devrient. Various discrepancies with known facts of the singer's life, however, have led many to doubt the veracity of this book and the erotic adventures contained in the second volume, at least, appear to be very implausible. These include the author indulging in lesbian sadomasochism, group sex, sodomy, bestiality, scatology, necrophilia, prostitution and vampirism: all before she had reached the age of 27.Clifford J. Scheiner (1996) The Essential Guide to Erotic Literature, Part One: Before 1920.
1971's Histoire de Melody Nelson, a first- person concept album depicting the meeting and eventual seduction of doomed English teenager Melody Nelson, was Gainsbourg's first major success in the LP market and helped form his reputation as a controversial figure. Not one to shy away from controversy, Gainsbourg had formed the nucleus of what would become Vu de l'extérieur when he suffered a heart attack at the age of 45. By the time he was back to health, he resumed composing the songs for the new album, among them one of his biggest hits, "Je suis venu te dire que je m'en vais". While not quite a concept album, especially when compared to other Gainsbourg albums such as Histoire de Melody Nelson, Rock Around the Bunker and L'Homme à tête de chou, certain thematic elements–such as scatology and childishness–do run through the album.
Frustrated by the close censorship of Japanese adult videos under the Nihon Ethics of Video Association (NEVA), also known as "Viderin", the voluntary ethics group which regulated most of the AV companies in the 1980s and 1990s, Toyoda started up his own company using the label in 1996. The company, , located in Tokyo's Shibuya ward, was founded in April 1996 and "King of Realism" (the Japanese name also means "King Lear") began issuing videos in August 1996. In the years following other labels were also created including in September 1997, in July 1998, and "GOLD" in April 2000, in November 2000, "D's" in January 2001 and "SILVIA" in October 2002. The company issued about a dozen new videos per month including installments in such popular series as "Eromesu" (凌辱エロメス), "Royal Anal Kingdom" (名門アナル王国) and the scatology series "Exodus Gold" (エクソダス ゴールド).
