He calls the Chalukya kingdom "Mo-ho-la-cha" (the Chinese transcription of "Maharashtra"), and corroborates Pulakeshin's success against Harsha (see above). He had visited the Pallava kingdom before arriving in the Chalukya kingdom, but he doesn't mention any conflict between the two kingdoms, presumably because he was not aware of major political changes or because his main interest was Buddhism rather than politics. Xuanzang describes Pulakeshin ("Po-le-ke-she") as "a man of farsighted resource and astuteness who extends kindness to all". The king's subjects were "tall and sturdy in nature and... proud and carefree by nature... grateful for kindness and revengeful for injustice".

In the stampede and chaos that had ensued in the stadium amongst the spectators of the football match after the news of the bombs had been leaked, a revengeful Fernandez stabs the M.P to death, and is finally captured back by the police. Unnikrishnan safely and successfully rescues Gaadha from the police, who had captured her on the orders of the commissioner who wanted to take revenge from Fernandez for killing the former's son. To save her from the future actions of the commissioner, Unni and Gaadha decide to leave for Kerala together to get married. But due to their ill-fate, Gaadha, who actually wanted to join with Unni, could not join with him and decides to go with the old man to London.

In earlier years the judge exercised much influence through his political alliance with Dudley and his marriage, in 1718, to Governor Leverett's daughter Sarah, following the death of his first wife. Cotton Mather, in February, 1702 or 3, received a visit from Governor Dudley, whom Mather advised to allow no people to say that the governor's policies were dictated by Byfield and Leverett. Mather continues: 'The Wretch went unto those Men, and told them, that I had advised him, to be no ways advised by them: and inflamed them into an implacable Rage against me.' Byfield was a man of positive traits, dictatorial and overbearing, ambitious and revengeful, yet so sound that no decision of his was ever, upon appeal, reversed by a higher court.

The American public was apprised of the ongoing suppression of the Polish Catholic Church and forced conscription of Poles into the Imperial Russian Army, hurting Russian-American relations. An American writer in Boston, Robin Carver, wrote a children's book in 1831 called Stories of Poland, which said that for Polish children, "Their houses are not peaceful and happy homes, but are open to the spies and soldiers of a cruel and revengeful government...There is no confidence, no repose, no hope for them, and will not be, till, by some more fortunate struggle, they shall drive the Russians from their borders, and become an independent people."Stories of Poland. p. 141-142. Poetic tributes to Poland were written in America, and literature denouncing Russian treatment towards Poland continued after the Uprising.

In Napoleon's invasion of Russia of 1812 two actions could be seen as initiating guerrilla tactics. The burning of Moscow after it had been occupied by Napoleon's Grand Army, depriving the French of shelter in the city, resembled guerrilla action insofar as it was an attack on the available resources rather than directly on the troops (and insofar as it was a Russian action rather than an inadvertent consequence of nineteenth-century troops' camping in a largely abandoned city of wooden buildings). In a different sense, the imperial command that the Russian serfs should attack the French resembled guerrilla tactics in its reliance on partisans rather than army regulars. This did not so much spark a guerrilla war as encourage a revengeful slaughter of French deserters by Russian peasants.

It was in this room for the next 43 years that Darger would imagine and write his massive tomes (in addition to a 10-year daily weather journal and assorted diaries) until his death in April 1973 in St. Augustine's Home for the Aged, the same institution in which his father had died. In the last entry in his diary, he wrote: "January 1, 1971. I had a very poor nothing like Christmas. Never had a good Christmas all my life, nor a good new year, and now... I am very bitter but fortunately not revengeful, though I feel should be how I am..." Darger is buried in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois, in a plot called "The Old People of the Little Sisters of the Poor Plot".

Ermila, orphaned after her parents ran away, lives with her grandparents who do not understand the rapidly changing times and the younger generation. Her close group of school friends becomes her family, and together they experience the Chicano power movement as well as serious family and relationship problems. Tranquilina, the daughter of missionaries, is optimistic about religion despite witnessing horrible atrocities, like the cruel and revengeful murder of Ermila’s cousin Nacho, committed by the McBride Boys.

Early death occurs mainly when at the time of birth the Moon is weak, ill-placed and afflicted by malefic planets. Whereas the Moon situated in the 6th house from the Lagna (Ascendant) causes Balarishta, an affliction by either Mars or Saturn gives curious and incurable diseases and revengeful foes. However, when the Sun and the Moon are strong and free from affliction one enjoys good health even if the Lagna at the time of birth is unfavourably influenced through adverse planetary aspects and conjunctions. Mars in the 7th, Rahu in the 9th, Saturnin the Lagna, Jupiter in the 3rd and Venus in the 6th house are also taken as indicators of infant mortality; malefic planets situated in the 2nd, the 6th, the 8th or in the 12th house from the Lagna increase the chance of Balarishta.

The earliest background to this revengeful act of the snake sacrifice or Sarpa satra to kill snakes is traced to Arjuna, grandfather of Parikshit and great grandfather of Janamejaya. He had caused the death of the wife of the snake chieftain Takshaka and millions of other living beings by setting the forests of Khandava on fire to establish the kingdom of the Pandavas at Indraprastha. According to the Mahabharata legend, snakes were cursed by their mother Kadru when they refused to obey her request to cheat by turning the tail of the white horse Uchchaihshravas to a black colour to win a bet against her sister Vinata. Then her sons led by Vasuki held deliberations on the way to stop the snake sacrifice or Sarpa Satra yagna that may be initiated by Janamejaya to kill the race.
