The Rete algorithm is a stateful pattern matching algorithm designed to minimize the evaluation of repetitive tests across many objects/attributes and many rules. Different fields of usage are best for Rete-based and non-Rete- based execution algorithms. For simple stateless applications with minimal sharing of conditions across rules, a non-Rete-based execution algorithm (such as the sequential algorithm) may be preferable. For evaluating decision tables and trees, an algorithm that exploits the hierarchical relationships between the rule conditions may perform better than a simple Rete or sequential algorithm tuned for discrete rules.

Cross-section through the trunk of a porbeagle (orientation is belly-up); note the central red muscles. Like other members of its family, the porbeagle is endothermic; metabolic heat generated by its red muscles is conserved within the body by specialized systems of blood vessels called retia mirabilia (Latin for "wonderful nets"; singular rete mirabile), that act as highly efficient countercurrent heat exchangers. The porbeagle has several rete mirabile systems: the orbital retia accessing its brain and eyes, the lateral cutaneous retia accessing its swimming muscles, the suprahepatic rete accessing its viscera, and the kidney rete. Among sharks, the porbeagle's capacity for elevating body temperature is second only to the salmon shark's.

A rete mirabile (Latin for "wonderful net"; plural retia mirabilia) is a complex of arteries and veins lying very close to each other, found in some vertebrates, mainly warm-blooded ones. The rete mirabile utilizes countercurrent blood flow within the net (blood flowing in opposite directions) to act as a countercurrent exchanger. It exchanges heat, ions, or gases between vessel walls so that the two bloodstreams within the rete maintain a gradient with respect to temperature, or concentration of gases or solutes. This term was coined by Galen.

For example, engines may provide specialised support within the Rete network in order to apply pattern-matching rule processing to specific data types and sources such as programmatic objects, XML data or relational data tables. Another example concerns additional time-stamping facilities provided by many engines for each WME entering a Rete network, and the use of these time-stamps in conjunction with conflict resolution strategies. Engines exhibit significant variation in the way they allow programmatic access to the engine and its working memory, and may extend the basic Rete model to support forms of parallel and distributed processing.
The Rete algorithm ( , , rarely , ) is a pattern matching algorithm for implementing rule-based systems. The algorithm was developed to efficiently apply many rules or patterns to many objects, or facts, in a knowledge base. It is used to determine which of the system's rules should fire based on its data store, its facts. The Rete algorithm was designed by Charles L. Forgy of Carnegie Mellon University, first published in a working paper in 1974, and later elaborated in his 1979 Ph.D. thesis and a 1982 paper Charles Forgy: Rete: A Fast Algorithm for the Many Pattern/Many Object Pattern Match Problem.
Many ungulates have a specialized network of blood vessels called the carotid rete, which keeps the brain cool while the body temperature rises during exercise. Horses lack a carotid rete and instead use their sinuses to cool blood around the brain. These factors suggest that the conformation of a horse's head influences its ability to regulate temperature. This modality allows the common ostrich to manage the temperature of the blood going to the brain in response to the extreme ambient temperature of the surroundings. The morphology for heat exchange occurs via cerebral arteries and the ophthalmic rete, a network of arteries originating from the ophthalmic artery. The ophthalmic rete is analogous to the carotid rete found in mammals, as it also facilitates transfer of heat from arterial blood coming from the core to venous blood returning from the evaporative surfaces at the head. Researchers suggest that common ostriches also employ a 'selective brain warming' mechanism in response to cooler surrounding temperatures in the evenings.

This article does not provide an exhaustive description of every possible variation or extension of the Rete algorithm. Other considerations and innovations exist.
In giraffes, a rete mirabile in the neck equalizes blood pressure when the animal bends down to drink. The ancient physician Galen mistakenly thought that humans also have a rete mirabile in the neck, apparently based on dissection of sheep and misidentifying the results with the human carotid sinus, and ascribed important properties to it; it fell to Berengario da Carpi first, and then to Vesalius to demonstrate the error.
Around the planisphere moves the rete, a web-like metal cutout representing the zodiac, which also features a Julian calendar dial. Above the rete, a display indicates the day of the week. Directly above the 24-hour dial is the dial of the Primum Mobile, so called because it reproduces the diurnal motion of the stars and the annual motion of the sun against the background of stars. It is basically an astrolabe drawn using a south polar projection, with a fixed tablet and a rete of special design that rotated once in a sidereal day. The rete was provided with 365 teeth, but was driven by a wheel with 61 teeth which made 6 turns in 24 hours. Thus the rete rotated once in 365/366 of a mean solar day, which equated 366 successive meridian transits of the vernal equinox with 365 similar transits of the sun.

The first channel was known as the Rete Rossa (red network) and the second as the Rete Azzurra (blue network). These "neutral" names were chosen to imply that, while at any one time each channel aimed to provide programming of a contrasting style to that available on the other, the two channels were nominally equal in status and had an equally wide-ranging remit. On 1 January 1952, as part of a move aimed at giving each of its channels a more distinctive "personality" – a cultural Terzo Programma (third programme) having already been added on 1 October 1950 – RAI renamed the Rete Rossa as the Programma Nazionale (national programme), later to become the Primo Programma (first programme) and eventually Rai Radio 1.
The programs designed specifically to run business rules are called rule engines. More complete systems that support the writing, deployment and management of business rules are called business rules management systems (BRMSs). Many commercial rule engines provide the Rete algorithm, a proprietary algorithm that embodies many of the principles of Rete. However, there are other execution algorithms such as the sequential algorithm (ILOG and Blaze Advisor terminology), algorithms for evaluating decision tables/trees, and algorithms tuned for hierarchical XML.
In scars rete pegs are lost; through a lack of rete pegs scars tend to shear easier than normal tissue. The endometrium, the inner lining of the uterus, is the only adult tissue to undergo rapid cyclic shedding and regeneration without scarring; shedding and restoring roughly inside a 7-day window on a monthly basis. All other adult tissues, upon rapid shedding or injury, can scar. Prolonged inflammation, as well as the fibroblast proliferation can occur.

Charles L. Forgy (born December 12, 1949, in Texas) is a computer scientist, known for developing the Rete algorithm used in his OPS5 and other production system languages used to build expert systems.
In 1885 it became part of the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network) and in 1905 it was absorbed into Ferrovie dello Stato on its foundation. Electrification at 3000 volts DC was completed in 1956.
As a student of Allen Newell, he received his Ph.D. in 1979 based on the Rete algorithm. Even though Forgy did not work directly on the DEC XCON AI problem of configuring computers for DEC in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Rete algorithm was later incorporated into the system for more speed. The XCON used the early versions of OPS (Official Production System) that migrated to OPS2 and later OPS5. DEC reported that XCON saved at least $1M USD per year.
Despite this situation, in 1884 the Italian Parliament issued a commission study in which it was declared preferable a private administration of railways. The Convenzioni (concessions) between Italy and the three main remaining private companies were signed on April 23, 1884, for a period of 60 years. SFM was assigned the lines on the Adriatic Sea (Rete Adriatica, Italian for Adriatic Network), while the Società per le Strade Ferrate del Mediterraneo and the Società delle Ferrovia della Sicilia received, respectively, the Rete Mediterranea (Mediterranean Network, lines facing the Ligurian, Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas) and the Rete Sicula (Sicilian Network). The companies received in total 8,510 km of railways, under the vigilance of the Ministry of the Public Works, through a General Inspectorate for Railroads, which replaced the previous position of the General Royal Commissariate.
Rete Sicula (Sicilian Network) referred to all the railway lines in operation and under construction in Sicily which, following the 1885 Conventions, was assigned to the Società per le strade ferrate della Sicilia for operation.

When finished, it would secure the faster and safer rail connection between these two major railway stations and port locations. From that point onwards, Taranto station was shared by two railway administrations, Rete Adriatica and Rete Mediterranea. Until the late nineteenth century, Taranto was an important railway junction for traffic in foodstuffs and timber from Calabria and Sicily to the Adriatic and the north. Its importance waned after the opening of the Southern Tyrrhenian railway, which diverted most of this traffic via Salerno and Naples.
It appears the function of the rete testis is to mix the sperm as they leave the seminiferous tubules. Sperm leave the seminiferous tubules in the dilute secretions of Sertoli cells. The rete testis does modify the luminal fluids with a limited amount of secretion and reabsorption, but their primary function is to mix and transport the sperm into the efferent ductules, where the major function is reabsorption of about 95% of the fluid, which increases the sperm concentration prior to entering the epididymis.
RSI Rete Uno () is the principal radio channel of the Swiss public-service broadcasting organization Radio Svizzera Italiana, which launched in 1933 as Radio Monte Ceneri. Broadcasting in Italian, it is receivable throughout Switzerland (as well as southern Germany) via FM, DAB, cable, and satellite. Until 31 June 2008 (when SRG SSR ceased broadcasting on the 558 kHz medium- wave frequency) it could also be received in large areas of northern and central Italy. The station identifies itself on-air as "Radio Svizzera - Rete Uno".
On 27 March 2020, Crocmedia announced it would launch SEN Track, a radio station covering horse, thoroughbred and greyhound racing. At the time, racing codes were the only Australian sports operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. SEN Track launched the following day in Melbourne, replacing SEN+, and on the former Rete Italia frequencies in Perth and Wollongong. In April, the network expanded to Gosford, Ingham and Atherton, with Crocmedia announcing it would replace Vision Christian Radio in Brisbane and Rete Italia on the Gold Coast from September.

Alessia Mancini made her television debut in 1994, she took part in Non è la RAI on Italia 1. After this experience, she took part to the Canale 5 show Striscia la notizia, where she acted as "velina"; she took part also to the Canale 5 show Doppio lustro. In 1997 she was in the music video Born to Be Abramo of Elio e le Storie Tese. In 1998 she took part in Simpaticissima on Rete 4, and the next year in La Ruota Della Fortunaon Rete 4 and Scherzi a parte on Canale 5.
A possible variation is to introduce additional memories for each intermediate node in the discrimination network. This increases the overhead of the Rete, but may have advantages in situations where rules are dynamically added to or removed from the Rete, making it easier to vary the topology of the discrimination network dynamically. An alternative implementation is described by Doorenbos.Production Matching for Large Learning Systems from SCS Technical Report Collection, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University In this case, the discrimination network is replaced by a set of memories and an index.
In addition, the approach only applies to conditional patterns that perform equality tests against constant values. When a WME enters the Rete, the index is used to locate a set of memories whose conditional pattern matches the WME attributes, and the WME is then added directly to each of these memories. In itself, this implementation contains no 1-input nodes. However, in order to implement non- equality tests, the Rete may contain additional 1-input node networks through which WMEs are passed before being placed in a memory.
Although not defined by the Rete algorithm, some engines provide extended functionality to support greater control of truth maintenance. For example, when a match is found for one production, this may result in the assertion of new WMEs which, in turn, match the conditions for another production. If a subsequent change to working memory causes the first match to become invalid, it may be that this implies that the second match is also invalid. The Rete algorithm does not define any mechanism to define and handle these logical truth dependencies automatically.
The efferent arterioles of the juxtamedullary glomeruli are much different. They do break up, but they form bundles of vessels (arteriolae recti) that cross the outer zone of the medulla to perfuse the inner zone. Vessels returning from the inner medulla (venulae recti) intersperse themselves in a highly regular fashion among the descending arteriolae recti to form a well- organized rete mirabile. This rete is responsible for the osmotic isolation of the inner medulla from the rest of the kidney and so permits the excretion of a hypertonic urine when circumstances require.
In addition, they have slow-oxidative muscles centrally located within their bodies and a blood vessel countercurrent exchange system called the rete mirabile ("wonderful net"), allowing them to generate and retain body heat. The temperature inside the red muscles of a common thresher averages 2 °C (3.6 °F) above that of the ambient seawater, though significant individual variation is seen. Unlike the pelagic and bigeye threshers, the common thresher lacks an orbital rete mirabile to protect its eyes and brain from temperature changes. Immature common threshers fall prey to larger sharks.
Rete mirabile = RM Countercurrent exchange in biological systems occurred following the discovery of countercurrent multiplication systems by Werner Kuhn. Countercurrent exchange is used extensively in biological systems for a wide variety of purposes. For example, fish use it in their gills to transfer oxygen from the surrounding water into their blood, and birds use a countercurrent heat exchanger between blood vessels in their legs to keep heat concentrated within their bodies. In vertebrates, this type of organ is referred to as a rete mirabile (originally the name of the organ in the fish gills).
In 2000, 2i Rete Gas appeared for the first time as a player in the gas distribution sector with the acquisition of Colombo Gas; in 2002, also Gruppo Camuzzi (approx. 1,000k clients) was acquired. Since September 2009, after the acquisition of Enel Rete Gas by F2i and Axa Private Equity (today ARDIAN), the company has significantly grown from 2.1 m to 3.8m clients (in 2012) thanks to an important consolidation process. In particular, in October 2011 the company's gas networks were reorganized by its shareholders: 2iRG acquired 2iGas Infrastruttura Italiana Gas S.r.l.

Its structure is similar to that of the ductus deferens. Occasionally it is found unconnected with the epididymis. A second tube, the ductulus aberrans superior, occurs in the head of the epididymis; it is connected with the rete testis.
Surmounting them is a "riet" or "rete" which is a pierced framework carrying the major stars shown at fig 9. Outside all is another rule, this time not with sighting holes, mounted on the common pivot, see fig 6.
Common warts have a characteristic appearance under the microscope. They have thickening of the stratum corneum (hyperkeratosis), thickening of the stratum spinosum (acanthosis), thickening of the stratum granulosum, rete ridge elongation, and large blood vessels at the dermoepidermal junction.

It was established on 1 July 1865 with of line it acquired from the state railway of the Kingdom of Sardinia (Piedmont) (), the part of the state railway of the former Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia () that had been absorbed into the Kingdom of Italy in 1859 after the Second Italian War of Independence and some other private railways. At its establishment, it included the Turin–Genoa, the Fréjus line, the Turin–Milan, Milan–Chiasso, Milan–Domodossola, Milan–Bologna and the Bologna–Pistoia lines. After Austria's defeat in the Third Italian War of Independence in 1866, the railways of the Veneto (amounting to ), including the Milan–Venice line, were transferred to the SFAI. On 1 July 1885 its network was taken over by the Rete Mediterranea (Mediterranean Network) and the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network), with lines generally west of Milan going to the Rete Mediterranea.

Banotti used to claim that women were not at all interested in the penetrative sexual act itself. In the 90s and 2000s she wrote for Il Foglio by Giuliano Ferrara, to whom she did not spare criticisms anyway. In 1995 she attended the Beijing Festival and collected several interviews, making a video, "Parole di Sharazade", on his return. Over the next twenty years she engaged in a legal battle against the pornography broadcast by private televisions, denouncing, among others, Rete Mia, Rete A and Retecapri to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Guarantor of Publishing and the Minister of Equal Opportunities.
Anatomical examination indicates that the pelagic thresher is unlikely to be warm-bodied like the common thresher; it lacks a rete mirabile, a blood vessel countercurrent exchange system that prevents metabolic heat from being dissipated into the water, inside its trunk. Furthermore, its aerobic red muscles, responsible for generating heat in the common thresher, are positioned in two lateral strips just beneath the skin rather than at the core of the body. A rete system is present around the pelagic thresher's brain and eyes, albeit less developed than in the bigeye thresher, which may serve to buffer those organs against temperature changes.
In 1885, the SFAI became part of Rete Mediterranea and in 1891 Bianchi was appointed head of the Maintenance and Works Department and, in 1900, Director of the Movement and Traffic Service. On 22 July 1901 he became General Manager of Rete Sicula where he remained until the establishment of the FS in 1905. With the coming of nationalization, Bianchi was appointed General Manager of the Ferrovie dello Stato by Giovanni Giolitti. Bianchi was respected as a man of great moral integrity and an enlightened and progressive manager, who paid great attention to technological innovation and efficiency.
Overall, tuna do not have a set body temperature point; rather it maintains its TB within a narrow range, with variations of only over time and from individual to individual. In contrast to the warm muscle and viscera of swimming bluefin tunas, the heart and gills remain at or near ambient water temperature in all tuna species. Tunas achieve regulation of body temperature by employing complex vascular structures called rete mirabile. In bluefin tuna, large lateral cutaneous vessels that branch off into the arteries and veins of rete mirabile supply blood to the red muscle, instead of a centrally located aorta.
Instead, the southern bluefin tuna seems to implement a system that regulates how actively the rete mirable system heats the tissues. Experiments involving the southern bluefin tuna have led researchers to believe that this species of tuna has developed a shunting system. When the southern bluefin tuna experiences cold temperatures, more blood is directed to the rete vascular system, heating muscle tissue, while in warm temperatures, blood is shunted to the venous and arterial systems, reducing the heat in the muscle tissues. The tuna's heart must pump blood to the bodily extremities at a quick rate to conserve heat and reduce heat loss.
The periphery of the testes are converted into the tunica albuginea. Cords of the central mass run together and form a network which becomes the rete testis, and another network, which develops the seminiferous tubules. Via the rete testis, the seminiferous tubules become connected with outgrowths from the mesonephros, which form the efferent ducts of the testis. In short, the descent of the testes consists of the opening of a connection from the testis to its final location at the anterior abdominal wall, followed by the development of the gubernaculum, which subsequently pulls and translocates the testis down into the developing scrotum.
The carotid rete is a counter-current heat exchanging organ in some ungulates. The blood ascending the carotid arteries on its way to the brain, flows via a network of vessels where heat is discharged to the veins of cooler blood descending from the nasal passages. The carotid rete allows Thomson's gazelle to maintain its brain almost 3 °C (5.4 °F) cooler than the rest of the body, and therefore aids in tolerating bursts in metabolic heat production such as associated with outrunning cheetahs (during which the body temperature exceeds the maximum temperature at which the brain could function).

The railway networks built before 1885 were largely in concession to private individuals and were in more or less serious economic difficulties. The Kingdom of Italy, in implementation of Law no. 3048 of 27 April 1885 (also called the Railway Conventions) distributed most of the railways of the peninsula into two large networks arranged longitudinally, namely the Rete Mediterranea (Mediterranean Network), of 4,171 km and the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network), of 4,379 km, granting them to two large companies to operate for a fee. The Mediterranean Network had roughly the North-West, Ligurian and Tyrrhenian lines.
During the 1970s, when Italian television was still under the RAI monopoly, Swiss television in Italian was the only alternative to the public network for Italians living in Lombardy and Piedmont: the signal reached the city of Milan. Some important personalities of Italian television, such as Corrado, Mina, Enzo Tortora and the founder of the first commercial television in Italy, Telebiella, Peppo Sacchi worked with TSI. RSI launched two new thematic radio stations, a cultural one, Rete Due, in 1985 and another more youth- oriented, Rete Tre, in 1989. In 1997 a second channel was created, called TSI 2.

On the other hand, the seminiferous tubules are developed from the cords distal to the hilum, and between them connective-tissue septa extend. Via the rete testis, the seminiferous tubules become connected with outgrowths from the mesonephros, which form the efferent ducts of the testis.
The tubuli seminiferi recti (also known as the tubuli recti, tubulus rectus, or straight seminiferous tubules) are structures in the testicle connecting the convoluted region of the seminiferous tubules to the rete testis, although the tubuli recti have a different appearance distinguishing them from these two structures. They enter the fibrous tissue of the mediastinum, and pass upward and backward, forming, in their ascent, a close network of anastomosing tubes which are merely channels in the fibrous stroma, lined by flattened epithelium, and having no proper walls; this constitutes the rete testis. Only Sertoli cells line the terminal ends of the seminiferous tubules (tubuli recti).

The biology of the longfin mako is little-known; it is somewhat common in the western Atlantic and possibly the central Pacific, while in the eastern Atlantic, it is rare and outnumbered over 1,000-fold by the shortfin mako in fishery landings. According to data provided by the official list of locomotives and railcars in service and under construction at 30 June 1914, published in 1915 by Ferrovie dello Stato, Pietrarsa produced, between 1867 and 1888, hundreds of steam locomotives with tenders for Rete Mediterranea (the Mediterranean Network), Rete Adriatica (the Adriatic Network) and their constituents. Of these, 192 were taken over by FS and registered as classes 120, 155, 185, 190, 200, 206, 215, 265, 268, 385, 391 and 420. However, after 1888, orders for the construction of locomotives were directed to foreign factories or to northern Italy and Pietrarsa was downgraded to a maintenance and repair plant. New railway traction systems (electric and diesel) gradually displaced steam and led to the slow but inexorable decline of the plant until a closure order was issued on 15 November 1975.
The origins of the channel can be traced back to 21 March 1938, when the EIAR – which was to become Radio Audizioni Italiane (RAI) in 1944 – began transmitting a second, separately programmed radio service in major cities. Following the end of World War II and reconstruction and improvement of the surviving transmitter network, radio broadcasting was reorganized (with effect from 3 November 1946) to provide two national channels covering most of the country.

The resulting Rete network contains sets of terminal nodes which, together, represent single productions. This approach disallows any form of short-circuiting of the ORed conditions.

In some fish, a rete mirabile fills the swim bladder with oxygen, increasing the fish's buoyancy. A countercurrent exchange system is utilized between the venous and arterial capillaries. Lowering the pH levels in the venous capillaries causes oxygen to unbind from blood hemoglobin. This causes an increase in venous blood oxygen partial pressure, allowing the oxygen to diffuse through the capillary membrane and into the arterial capillaries, where oxygen is still sequestered to hemoglobin.
The cycle of diffusion continues until the partial pressure of oxygen in the arterial capillaries exceeds that in the swim bladder. At this point, the dissolved oxygen in the arterial capillaries diffuses into the swim bladder via the gas gland. The rete mirabile allows for an increase in muscle temperature in regions where this network of vein and arteries is found. The fish is able to thermoregulate certain areas of its body.
Locomotive 5201 "Lago di Como" of the Rete Mediterranea, later FS 8151 Following their replacement with more modern machines, the SFAI, between 1870 and 1871, studied their re-use:. Two double units, 76 + 77 and 78 + 79 were divided and rebuilt at the Officine Nuove di Torino as separate tank locomotives. A new longer boiler was fitted and the frame was lengthened by adding a third coupled axle. The "new" locomotives became SFAI 1408-1411.
In 1874 four units that had taken the numbers SFAI 1404-1407 were separated and coupled to three-axle tenders. In 1885, following the "Conventions" which assigned the stock of the SFAI to the Rete Mediterranea (RM), SFAI 1408-1411 were renumbered RM 5201-5204. These are sometimes known as "epidermal ridges" which are caused by the underlying interface between the dermal papillae of the dermis and the interpapillary (rete) pegs of the epidermis. These epidermal ridges serve to amplify vibrations triggered, for example, when fingertips brush across an uneven surface, better transmitting the signals to sensory nerves involved in fine texture perception. These ridges may also assist in gripping rough surfaces and may improve surface contact in wet conditions.
In 1981, she performed in her first hardcore movie, Valentina, ragazza in calore (Valentina, Girl in Heat), credited as Linda Heveret. Planned extension of the line into central Cagliari, from Piazza Repubblica to Piazza Matteotti and the Cagliari railway station of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, is in the final design stages and it is projected that the work may begin in 2017. This extension is very significant, because it will connect the tramway with the transportation hub of the city, home to the train and suburban buses station, and hub for local bus services.
In the development of the urinary and reproductive organs, the testis is developed in much the same way as the ovary, originating from mesothelium as well as mesonephros. Like the ovary, in its earliest stages it consists of a central mass covered by a surface epithelium. In the central mass, a series of cords appear. These cords run together toward the future hilum and form a network that ultimately becomes the rete testis.
VE ordered six locomotives from the Cail rolling stock factory and they were delivered in 1860. They were numbered 37-42. In 1865 the locomotives passed to the Società per le strade ferrate dell'Alta Italia (SFAI), which renumbered them 703-708, and later (probably in 1869) 767-772. In 1885, at the creation of the great national networks, the locomotives passed to the Rete Mediterranea (RM) and took the numbers 3942-3947.
Coppa e Campionato all'attacco della Rai From 1994 he presented on Rete 4 Good day with , as well as numerous telepromo and telesales. In 1995 he was a regular guest on the Italia 1 Mai dire Gol program, acting as a surreal sent by a fake newsstand in connection with Gialappa's Band. In 1998 he conducted the program Fantasia on Canale 5, which was a quiz with the children in the spotlight.

The Parma–La Spezia railway is the railway line that connects Parma, Italy with the Genoa–Pisa railway near La Spezia over the Cisa Pass through the Apennines. The route is approximately 120 kilometres long. Its Italian name (ferrovia Pontremolese) derives from the town of Pontremoli, one of the main towns it passes through. The railway infrastructure is managed by the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which classifies it as one of its primary lines.
This overall high oxygen uptake works in close coordination with a well-adapted circulatory system to meet the high metabolic needs of the southern bluefin tuna. The oxygen dissociation curves for southern bluefin tunas show a reverse temperature effect between , and temperature insensitivity between . Reverse temperature shift might prevent premature oxygen dissociation from hemoglobin as it is warmed in rete mirabile. Root effect and a large Bohr factor were also observed at .
In 2000 the Auguri Loretta program was aired in two episodes on Rete 4 to celebrate her fifty birthday; the program is a collage of various clips that contains the best performances on Loretta's Mediaset networks. In this period, however, she began to thin out her appearances on television, and devoted himself mainly to theater. He also returns to engage in dubbing with the animated film Monsters, Inc., lending his voice to the archivist Roz.
In embryogenesis, the sex cords, (primitive sex cords or gonadal cords) are structures that develop from the gonadal ridges. After sexual differentiation, at day 49, the sex cords in males become the testis cords by the action of the testis-determining factor protein, which helps to develop and nourish the Sertoli cells. The testis cords are precursors to the rete testis. They play several different roles in the development of the male genitals.
To obtain the concession of the Adriatic Network, the company paid the sum of 115 million lire to the State. The Statistical Yearbook of 1898, published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, indicates that in December 1896 the Adriatic Network had increased to 5,602 km. Some strategic sections and some large stations were operated in common with the Rete Mediterranea (Mediterranean Network), among the most important being Piacenza - Parma and Milan - Como.
The station is managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). Most train services are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. The remaining train services are operated by GTT, a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the provinces of Turin, Alessandria, Cuneo and Asti, and Arenaways, an open-access railway operator that began passenger operations in November 2010.

She also worked with director Francesca Mazzoleni.
BronnBronn 1859. thinks these are not artifacts, but he does not suggest any explanation of their occurrence. On the short, cylindrical rete Malpighii cells are flattened cells that gradually become very flat and lose their nuclei as they pass over into the horny layer. The stratum corneum consists of strongly flattened cells in which the nuclei can no longer be clearly seen, though their location can usually be determined by the groups of pigment granules.
FNM SpA. Bilancio consolidato 2010. p. III The company moved approximately 50 million passengers per year, carried on 500 trains per day on of rail network, including both the network granted to the FNM Group, managed by FERROVIENORD, and the Milan Passerby Railway, managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). Together with Trenitalia and ATM Milano, LeNORD was a member of the temporary undertaking that took over the train service of the Milan suburban line S5 from 1 July 2008.
All "premium" long-distance trains generally share the same discount schemes, even though their fares may differ. Unlike mini fares, which existed before 2012 and required two days of notice, all tickets may be purchased at the last minute if they are still available. All large rail stations have manned ticket windows and self-service ticket machines for this purpose. Such machines, which either say "Trenitalia" or "Rete Regionale" ("regional network"), differ in the types of payment accepted.
Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) is the Italian railway infrastructure manager, subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), a state-owned holding company. RFI is the owner of Italy's railway network, it provides signalling, maintenance and other services for the railway network. It also operates train ferries between the Italian Peninsula and Sicily. RFI was founded on 1 July 2001 following the European directive on rail transport, imposing a separation between the owner and the user of the network.
A variation of universal quantification might test that a given number of WMEs, drawn from a set of WMEs, meets given criteria. This might be in terms of testing for either an exact number or a minimum number of matches. Quantification is not universally implemented in Rete engines, and, where it is supported, several variations exist. A variant of existential quantification referred to as negation is widely, though not universally, supported, and is described in seminal documents.
Some engines, however, support additional functionality in which truth dependencies can be automatically maintained. In this case, the retraction of one WME may lead to the automatic retraction of additional WMEs in order to maintain logical truth assertions. The Rete algorithm does not define any approach to justification. Justification refers to mechanisms commonly required in expert and decision systems in which, at its simplest, the system reports each of the inner decisions used to reach some final conclusion.
The Terni–Sulmona railway is a regional railway line in central Italy, managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana. It links three regions, Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo, and three provincial capitals: Terni, Rieti and L'Aquila. Together with the Sulmona–Isernia railway it forms a north–south corridor through the Apennines in central Italy. Its route is the result of two unfinished railways that had to meet in Rieti: the Pescara–L'Aquila–Rome line, and the Terni–Avezzano–Roccasecca line.
In mammals, an elegant rete mirabile in the efferent arterioles of juxtamedullary glomeruli is important in maintaining the hypertonicity of the renal medulla. It is the hypertonicity of this zone, resorbing water osmotically from the renal collecting ducts as they exit the kidney, that makes possible the excretion of a hypertonic urine and maximum conservation of body water. Vascular retia mirabilia are also found in the limbs of a range of mammals. These reduce the temperature in the extremities.
Venezia Mestre railway station () is a junction station in the comune of Venice, Italy. It is located within the mainland frazione of Mestre, and is classified by its owner, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, as a gold category station. The station is situated at the mark of the Milan–Venice line, and at the mark of the Adria–Mestre line. It is also the point of origin of other lines that converge towards Venice as the capital of the region Veneto.
The railway was inaugurated from 8 September 1856.Prospetto cronologico dei tratti di ferrovia aperti all'esercizio dal 1839 al 31 dicembre 1926 From 10 July 1951, with the end of the concession to the "Società Strade Ferrate di Biella (SFB)" company, the management of the railway line passed to the state and the exercise was assumed by Ferrovie dello Stato.Ordine di Servizio n. 1 del 1961 In the year 2000, the entire line management passed to Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.
This also meant the shelving of the material dedicated for the album. Among the ditched tracks was "Perchè dovrei" (Why should I) by Lucio Battisti which she had already presented at the Senza Rete live televised concert in July 1972 to appear only on a compilation album of Battisti more than thirty years later. Villani's last recording with the RCA was the title track of the thriller film L'ultimo uomo di Sara (Sara's Last Man) composed by Ennio Morricone.
Amerigo Vespucci observing the Southern Cross with an Astrolabium, by Jan Collaert II. Museum Plantin-Moretus, Antwerp, Belgium. Mechanical astronomical clocks were initially influenced by the astrolabe; they could be seen in many ways as clockwork astrolabes designed to produce a continual display of the current position of the sun, stars, and planets. For example, Richard of Wallingford's clock (c. 1330) consisted essentially of a star map rotating behind a fixed rete, similar to that of an astrolabe.
A Retisol is a Reference Soil Group of the World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB). Retisols are characterized by clay migration and an additional specific feature: The clay-poorer and lighter coloured eluvial horizon intercalates netlike into the clay-richer more intensely coloured illuvial horizon. The illuvial horizon is the diagnostic argic horizon, and the intercalation is called retic properties (Latin: rete = net). Retisols were newly introduced with the third edition of the WRB in 2014.
At a mucocutaneous junction, epithelium transitions to epidermis, lamina propria transitions to dermis, and smooth muscle transitions to skeletal muscle.Norman Eizenberg, General Anatomy: Principles and Applications (2008), p. 96. A mucocutaneous junction is often the site of an arterial anastomosis, a watershed area of venous and lymphatic drainage, and sensory (but not motor) nerve overlap. Winkelmann (1959) documented that the mucocutaneous boundary is a "specific erogenous zone with rete ridges where the nerve endings rise closer to the surface".
In 1984 Gori was hired by Rete 4, an Italian TV station owned by Silvio Berlusconi. In 1991 Gori became the director of Canale 5, the main TV channel of Berlusconi's Mediaset. In 1997 he was appointed director of Italia 1, a position he held for two years when he was re-appointed at the head of Canale 5. In 2001 he founded Magnolia, a society of television production that cooperated both with Rai and Mediaset.
In the reorganisation of 1 July 1885 it acquired the lines of the Società per le strade ferrate dell'Alta Italia to the east of Milan, some lines from the Società per le Strade Ferrate Romane (Roman Railways) connecting Florence and Ancona to Rome and some branches of the old Società per le Strade Ferrate Calabro-Sicule in Calabria, now connecting to the Rete Mediterranea. On 1 July 1905 it was nationalised and absorbed into the Ferrovie dello Stato.
Bolzano/Bozen railway station (, ) is the main station of Bolzano/Bozen, capital of the autonomous province of Alto Adige/Südtirol, in northeastern Italy. The station was opened in 1859 by the Austrian Empire's Südbahn. It is located on the trans-Alpine Brenner Railway and a terminus of a branch line to Merano/Meran (County of Tirol's former capital), which continues to become Vinschgau Railway Merano/Meran-Malles/Mals. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
The opah is the newest addition to the list of regionally endothermic fish (warm-blooded), with a rete mirabile in its gill tissue structure. Other fish like the tunas, billfish and Lamnid sharks also possess this ability. This was first described in the opah in 2015 as exhibiting counter-current heat exchange in which the arteries, carrying warm blood, from the heart, warm the veins in the gills carrying cold blood."Warm Blood Makes Opah an Agile Predator".
The caffè sospeso has been identified as a symbol of grassroots social solidarity, prompting its revival in response to the 2008 recession and ensuing eurozone crisis. In 2004, a giornata nazionale del sospeso at Easter was announced by the Ronde della carità charity. In 2011, a Giornata del Caffè Sospeso was scheduled to coincide with Human Rights Day in December. A collection of Italian arts festivals emphasising social solidarity in 2010 came together under the umbrella "Rete del Caffè Sospeso".
He believed venous blood to be generated in the liver, from where it was distributed and consumed by all organs of the body. He posited that arterial blood originated in the heart, from where it was distributed and consumed by all organs of the body. The blood was then regenerated in either the liver or the heart, completing the cycle. Galen also believed in the existence of a group of blood vessels he called the rete mirabile in the carotid sinus.
Trenitalia Tper (TTX) is a company operating train services in the Emilia- Romagna region, in Italy, on railway lines overseen by both Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and Ferrovie Emilia Romagna (FER). The current company was born on 1 January 2020 from the merger of the railway transport division of TPER, which at that time operated railway transportation services on the network operated by FER, and the division of Trenitalia operating local railway transportation services in Emilia-Romagna, on the network operated by RFI.
In birds with webbed feet, retia mirabilia in the legs and feet transfer heat from the outgoing (hot) blood in the arteries to the incoming (cold) blood in the veins. The effect of this biological heat exchanger is that the internal temperature of the feet is much closer to the ambient temperature, thus reducing heat loss. Penguins also have them in the flippers and nasal passages. Seabirds distill seawater using countercurrent exchange in a so- called salt gland with a rete mirabile.
Heat loss is controlled by reducing the surface to volume ratio, and thick insulating layers of blubber and/or fur, which also help with streamlining for reduced drag. Exposed areas with relatively high circulation may use a rete mirabile counterflow heat exchange system of blood vessels to reduce heat loss. Marine mammals use sound to communicate underwater, and many species use echolocation to navigate and locate prey. Pinnipeds and fissipeds have facial whiskers capable of locating prey by detecting vibrations in the water.
However, the network's success wasn't to be. A combination of minimal listenership and low advertising lead to a trading halt being placed on parent company WorldAudio, with the announcement that administrators had been appointed to the company a week later. Administrators halted all talk based content, leaving the station to broadcast non-stop music. Radio 2's frequencies were later sold, either to Rete Italia, the start-up Vision Radio Network, or to the similarly ill-fated Goanna country music network.
Another marble sculpture was exhibited in 1886 Milan, titled Duetto, a cui faceva degno riscontro a stucco statue Una doccia. Among his works are: La fidanzata (Woman Engaged to Marry); Triestina (bust); Orphan of Mother, (marble group); La rete d' amore (Web of Love); the statuettes of Silenzio (Silence) and Dolore (Pain); Alla Chiesa; Piccolo affricano (Pygmy); Il dentista del villaggio (Village Dentist), and multiple other bas reliefs and portraits.Dizionario degli Artisti Italiani Viventi: pittori, scultori, e Architetti., by Angelo de Gubernatis.
The male reproductive system includes testes, rete testis, efferent ductules, epididymis, sex accessory glands, sex accessory ducts and external genitalia. Testosterone, an androgen, although present in both males and females, is relatively more abundant in males. Testosterone serves as one of the major sexual reproductive hormones in the male reproductive system However, the enzyme aromatase is present in testes and capable of synthesizing estrogens from androgens. Estrogens are present in high concentrations in luminal fluids of the male reproductive tract.
These pointers are often just simple points, but depending on the skill of the craftsman can be very elaborate and artistic. There are examples of astrolabes with artistic pointers in the shape of balls, stars, snakes, hands, dogs' heads, and leaves, among others. The names of the indicated stars were often engraved on the pointers in Arabic or Latin. Some astrolabes have a narrow rule or label which rotates over the rete, and may be marked with a scale of declinations.
Italian state railway operator Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) developed the station. In 2003, a contract was awarded to architect Zaha Hadid Architects for the station design. On 4 November 2003, Zaha Hadid formally presented the design, then projected to open in 2009. The project was delayed in part due to budgetary shortfalls. At one stage, RFI had awarded the €59.5 million contract for the station's construction to a consortium, but subsequent disputes over the price caused RFI to reissue its call for offers.
The project was developed by the Paris-based studio, Silvio d'Ascia Architecture, in collaboration with AREP and Agostino Magnaghi, after the team had won an international competition. The station was inaugurated on 14 January 2013 by Prime Minister Mario Monti. The total cost — estimated at €65 million — was borne entirely by the rail network operator, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). Plans for the reconstruction project also included a 100-metre high office tower for the Italian State Railways, Ferrovie dello Stato.
In 1865 the line was absorbed into the new Upper Italian Railway Company (Italian: Società per le strade ferrate dell'Alta Italia). The line became part of the Mediterranean Network (Italian: Rete Mediterranea) in 1885 and part of Ferrovie dello Stato in 1905. On 25 July 1872 a tunnel was opened linking the two main stations in Genoa between Piazza Principe and Brignole, connecting with the line to Pisa and Rome, increasing the length of the Turin–Genoa line to its current 169 kilometres.
In the more primitive groups like some minnows, bichirs and lungfish, the bladder is open to the esophagus and double as a lung. It is often absent in fast swimming fishes such as the tuna and mackerel families. The condition of a bladder open to the esophagus is called physostome, the closed condition physoclist. In the latter, the gas content of the bladder is controlled through the rete mirabilis, a network of blood vessels effecting gas exchange between the bladder and the blood.
After taking part to the RAI musical variety Senza Rete, they got their first hit with the song "Le tre campane", a cover version of "Les trois cloches" which peaked 7th on the Italian hit parade. In 1978 Aldo Donati and Edoardo De Angelis decided to leave the group and started successful solo careers. Following a long period on hiatus, Schola Cantorum reformed in 1995 with a different line-up, first renaming themselves as Nova Schola Cantorum and later reprising their original name.
Aosta railway station (; ) is the main station serving the city and comune of Aosta, in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1886, it forms part of the Chivasso–Ivrea–Aosta railway, and is also a junction station for a branch line to nearby Pré-Saint-Didier, in the Valdigne, on the way towards Courmayeur. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
The dermis is the layer of skin between the epidermis and subcutaneous tissue, and comprises two sections, the papillary dermis and the reticular dermis. The superficial papillary dermis interdigitates with the overlying rete ridges of the epidermis, between which the two layers interact through the basement membrane zone. Structural components of the dermis are collagen, elastic fibers, and ground substance also called extra fibrillar matrix. Within these components are the pilosebaceous units, arrector pili muscles, and the eccrine and apocrine glands.
Telenuovo commenced operations on November 12, 1979 at 17:30. The first show seen on the station was anime series Lupin III. For a few years, the station was a part of the Rete Italia syndication network led by Silvio Berlusconi's Tele Milano with a schedule consisting of movies, TV shows, cartoons and many self-produced sports shows. In 1981, the channel expands their coverage to the whole of Veneto and Trentino Alto-Adige and opened their news department in 1984.
SEN Track was born out of SEN+, which commenced broadcasting in Melbourne on 13 August 2018. The station was a simulcast of the 1116 SEN service, opting out for coverage of sports including the NFL, VFL, NBL and Super Rugby. The station also broadcast coverage of the 2019 Spring Racing Carnival. On 3 July 2019, Pacific Star Network announced its subsidiary Crocmedia had acquired 23 broadcasting licences from Gumnut Nominees, the licensee of Italian language radio network Rete Italia, at the value of .
Born in Rome, Nicotra was the son of the actors Mariannina Libassi and Antonio Nicotra. He started his career as a child actor in 1950, and his acting career included several leading roles. In 1968 he debuted as television director, collaborating with the musical show Canzonissima. During his career he was author and director of the sitcom Nonno Felice and of a number of popular variety shows, including Senza rete, La Sberla, Drive In, Grand Hotel, Portobello and Domenica in.
Via the rete testis, the seminiferous tubules become connected with outgrowths from the mesonephros, which form the efferent ducts of the testis. The descent of the testes consists of the opening of a connection from the testis to its final location at the anterior abdominal wall, followed by the development of the gubernaculum, which subsequently pulls and translocates the testis down into the developing scrotum. Ultimately, the passageway closes behind the testis. A failure in this process causes an indirect inguinal hernia.
In Italy, the Krauss-Helmholtz bogie was improved around 1900 by Giuseppe Zara, a technician of the Rete Adriatica and later of the Ferrovie dello Stato; by modifying the structure, rearranging the weight distribution and allowing the bogie to also move transversally respective to the locomotive's frames, he obtained the Italian bogie (a lighter and somewhat different version was the later Zara bogie). It saw widespread use, being fitted on many Italian steam locomotive classes, like the FS Class 625, FS Class 740 and FS Class 685.
The testes are covered by a tough membranous shell called the tunica albuginea. Within the testes are very fine coiled tubes called seminiferous tubules. The tubules are lined with a layer of cells (germ cells) that develop from puberty through old age into sperm cells (also known as spermatozoa or male gametes). The developing sperm travel through the seminiferous tubules to the rete testis located in the mediastinum testis, to the efferent ducts, and then to the epididymis where newly created sperm cells mature (see spermatogenesis).
Milano Lambrate railway station () is one of the main stations serving the city and comune of Milan, Italy. Opened in 1931, the station is the third largest in Milan in terms of numbers of tracks, after Milano Centrale and Milano Porta Garibaldi. It is part of the Milan belt railway as well as of the railways linking Milan with Genoa, Venice, Bologna and Mantua. The station is managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), while the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
Since the rete also isolates the inner medulla from gaseous exchange, any metabolism in this area is anaerobic, and red cells, which would serve no purpose there, are ordinarily shunted from the arteriolae recti by an unknown mechanism into the capillary plexus surrounding the tubules of the outer zone of the medulla. Blood in this plexus and returning from the inner medulla finds its way to the renal vein and the general circulation by pathways similar to those providing drainage for the rest of the cortex.
Some of these probably function to prevent heat loss in cold conditions by reducing the temperature gradient between the limb and the environment. Others reduce the temperature of the testes increasing their productivity. In the neck of the dog, a rete mirabile protects the brain when the body overheats during hunting; the venous blood is cooled down by panting before entering the net. Retia mirabilia also occur frequently in mammals that burrow, dive or have arboreal lifestyles that involve clinging with the limbs for lengthy periods.
Fifteen locomotives were built in Britain between 1853 and 1855 by Sharp, Stewart and Company and were numbered 34 to 38 and 80 to 89 by the SFSP, which used them for the haulage of fast trains. In 1865 they passed to Società per le strade ferrate dell'Alta Italia (SFAI) which numbered them from 91 to 105. In 1864, SFAI purchased another five units and numbered them 106 to 110. In 1885 they were taken over by Rete Mediterranea (RM) where they were numbered 519 to 538.
From 1877 to 1885, about 110 locomotives were produced, over 800 freight wagons and nearly 300 passenger carriages as well as spare parts for rolling stock. Following the Conventions of 1885 and the establishment of large railway networks, the Pietrarsa workshops were assigned to the Rete Mediterranea (Mediterranean Network) and remained part of it until 1905 when, following railway nationalization, the factory became part of the primary infrastructure of the new Ferrovie dello Stato becoming one of the large repair workshops specializing in particular in steam locomotives.
Italy revives Messina Straits bridge from Construction Europe. Retrieved 9 March 2009. The design included of road links and of railway links to the bridge. On the mainland, the bridge was to connect to the new stretch of the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway (A3) and to the planned Naples-Reggio Calabria High-Speed railway line; on the Sicilian side, to the Messina-Catania (A18) and Messina-Palermo (A20) motorways as well as the new Messina railway station (to be built by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana).
La ruota della fortuna is the Italian version of Wheel of Fortune. The show has run nonstop since 1988 on Canale 5 and Rete 4, and switched from a trilon to an electronic board in the mid 1990s, like the U.S. version.See the Wheel of Fortune (US game show) article for more details on gameplay. Previously hosted by Mike Bongiorno, the show was hosted by Enrico Papi on Italia 1, and featured Victoria Silvstedt from the French version of the show, La Roue de la Fortune.
Antonio De Vita (10 February 1932 – 14 January 1998), best known as Tony De Vita, was an Italian composer, conductor, arranger and pianist. Born in Milan, De Vita graduated at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in his hometown. He started his career as a pianist, accompanying artists such as Johnny Dorelli and Betty Curtis. In 1963 he debuted on television as the conductor in the variety show La fiera dei sogni, and from then he appeared in dozens of popular shows, including Senza Rete, Fantastico and Domenica in.
Launched 3 January 1982 by print media editor Edilio Rusconi, Italia 1 was born from the idea of a network supported by twenty regional broadcasting stations, some owned by Rusconi himself and others simply affiliated to broadcast throughout Italian territory on the 'ploy' of interconnection. The lead broadcasting station is Milan-based Antenna Nord, but Rome's Quinta Rete also has an important role. Lillo Tombolini is the executive director. The channel's presenter is a young Gabriella Golia, who was already the face of Antenna Nord.
It was originally used by the construction company of the Fréjus Rail Tunnel for the haulage of works trains. On completion of the work in 1871, it passed to the SFAI, which numbered it 1400. In 1885, when the great national networks were created, the locomotive passed to the Rete Mediterranea, where it took the number 5101. In 1905, on the nationalization of the railways, it entered the stock of the Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), which placed it in Class 800 with the number 8001.
In fish where the swim bladder is closed, the gas content is controlled through the rete mirabilis, a network of blood vessels serving as a countercurrent gas exchanger between the swim bladder and the blood. The Chondrostei such as sturgeons also have a swim bladder, but this appears to have evolved separately: other Actinopterygii such as the bowfin and the bichir do not have one, so swim bladders appear to have arisen twice, and the teleost swim bladder is not homologous with the chondrostean one.
Rete mirabile function as countercurrent heat exchangers that prevent metabolic heat loss at the gills. Warm-bodied fish, such the southern bluefin tuna, maintain their TB by varying the efficiency of heat exchangers. Some oxygen is typically lost to outgoing venous blood in the process of heat exchange, depending on heat exchanger efficiency, which can be influenced by the rate of blood flow and blood vessel diameter. As tunas migrate to greater depths, often looking for prey, they encounter cooler water temperatures at the gill surface.
Snam was founded on 30 October 1941 in San Donato Milanese, Lombardy, with the name Società Nazionale Metanodotti. On 1 June 2001, it changed its name to Snam Rete Gas. It has been traded on the Borsa Italiana since 6 December 2001. On 1 January 2012, it was renamed with the original name of Snam. In April 2019, Snam launched the first injection of a hydrogen and natural gas into the pipeline, the Europe’s first commercial test of a hydrogen-methane blend in a high-pressure network.
The railway infrastructure is managed by the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which classifies it as one of its primary lines. This importance is due to the role of connection between Italy and Austria, since it connects to the Rudolf Railway in , allowing connections to Villach, Klagenfurt, Vienna and Linz. The line is double-track from the Vat crossing loop (Posto di Movimento Vat, PM Vat) to , while it is single-track on the short initial section. Electrification is at 3,000 volts DC. The gauge is .
These skin marks are symptoms of pregnancy caused by the tearing of the dermis, resulting in atrophy and loss of rete ridges. These scars often appear as reddish or bluish streaks on the abdomen, and can also appear on the breasts and thighs. Some of these striae disappear with time, while others remain as permanent discolorations of the body. Mechanical distension and rapidly developing areas of the body during pregnancy (such as the abdomen, breasts, and thighs) are most commonly associated with striae formation.
Six locomotives - nos. 271/9, 1007/31/52/3 - were withdrawn from service between 1903 and 1905. Fifty more were sold in 1906 to the Italian State Railway, Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), where they formed FS Class 380; they had been ordered by one of the constituents of the FS, the Rete Mediterranea. They were meant to fill a gap of valid locomotives after the nationalization of the Italian railways, and therefore were not thought to remain in service for more than a few years; however, some of them remained active into the 1920s.
The play's opening night in April 1947, caused fights and protests in the audience. Between 1948 and 1949, Dürrenmatt wrote several segments and sketches for the anti-Nazi Cabaret Cornichon in Zürich; among these, the single-act grotesque short play Der Gerettete (The Rescued).RSI Il Salvato, di Friederich Dürrenmatt, for Rete Due, Colpo di scena, December 2010 His first major success was the play Romulus the Great. Set in the year A.D. 476, the play explores the last days of the Roman Empire, presided over, and brought about by its last emperor, Romulus.
The Italian government formed Trenitalia to comply with European regulations. The European Commission's First Railway Directive from 1991 (91/440/EC) required separation of accounting between entities which manage the rail infrastructure and entities which provide the actual rail transportation. On 1 June 2000, therefore, Italy created Trenitalia as the primary rail transportation company and on 1 July 2001 established Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) as the company overseeing the rail network. However, the separation was only formal, since both are subsidiaries of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane holding and are owned wholly by the government.
In descriptions of Rete, it is common to refer to token passing within the beta network. In this article, however, we will describe data propagation in terms of WME lists, rather than tokens, in recognition of different implementation options and the underlying purpose and use of tokens. As any one WME list passes through the beta network, new WMEs may be added to it, and the list may be stored in beta memories. A WME list in a beta memory represents a partial match for the conditions in a given production.
Operations are managed and controlled by the Sistema di Comando e Controllo ("command and control system"—SCC, an Italian version of centralized traffic control) of the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, the subsidiary of the Ferrovie dello Stato group that is responsible for the management of the infrastructure, which supervises the rail traffic from the operations centre in Pisa for the section that runs from Civitavecchia to Sestri Levante (about 420 km) and from the operations centre of Genova Teglia for the section from Sestri Levante to the node of Genoa.
The FLP opened in 1912 and is the last working line of an interconnected network including two other suburban lines, the Lugano–Tesserete railway and the Lugano–Cadro–Dino railway, and the urban tramways of Lugano. There are proposals to extend the line back into some of the areas formerly covered by this network. The FLP is a member of the Arcobaleno tariff network and operates as line S60 of the Rete celere del Canton Ticino. Trains run every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.
Trieste Centrale railway station (; (former name) is the main station serving the city and municipality (comune) of Trieste, in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1857, the station is a terminus for direct lines to Venice, Udine and Vienna, and for the belt line leading to Trieste's marshalling yard, near the now closed Trieste Campo Marzio railway station.:it:Stazione di Trieste Campo Marzio Trieste Centrale is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
The first six units were built in 1855 for the Strade Ferrate dello Stato Piemontese (SFSP), where they carried the numbers 99-104. Five years later, in 1860, three similar locomotives were built for the Victor Emmanuel Railway (VE). In 1865, with the establishment of the SFAI, they entered SFAI stock with the numbers 250-255 for the former SFSP units, and 256-258 for the former VE units. In 1885, with the creation of the great national networks, the machines were assigned to the Rete Mediterranea (RM), where they assumed the numbers 2707-2715.
An agreement was signed between Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and Cepav Due to the start of work on the first construction lot of this on 7 March 2011, to the value of €700 million. Work began in May 2012 and was completed in 2016. The railway signaling along the route of the line in operation is the same as on most of the conventional lines, while that of the under construction section will feature ERTMS/ETCS, which ensures interoperability between the European rail lines. Testing of the section Treviglio-Brescia has begun in August 2016.
The Esperanto National Library and Archive is the biggest Esperanto library in Italy, and one of the richest in the world; it is located in Massa, in northern Tuscany. Founded in 1972 as the official library of the Italian Esperanto Federation,Amedeo Benedetti, L'Esperanto e la Biblioteca Nazionale di Massa, in "Charta", n. 97, May–June 2008, p. 60. it is now a public collection, hosted by the State Archive in Massa and part of the provincial network of libraries (Rete Provinciale delle Biblioteche di Massa, or REPROBI).
The blood–testis barrier is likely to contribute to the survival of sperm. However, it is believed in the field of testicular immunology that the blood–testis barrier cannot account for all immune suppression in the testis, due to (1) its incompleteness at a region called the rete testis and (2) the presence of immunogenic molecules outside the blood–testis barrier, on the surface of spermatogonia. The Sertoli cells play a crucial role in the protection of sperm from the immune system. They create the Sertoli cell barrier, which complements the blood-testis barrier.
In this scene from the Zliten mosaic (c. CE 200), a retiarius armed only with a dagger raises a finger in surrender. His trident lies at the foot of his secutor adversary, and his net is missing. He is also seen bleeding from an artery in his leg A retiarius depicted by Polish sculptor Pius Weloński at the National Museum, Kraków The retiarius is the most readily identifiable gladiator type, due to his signature equipment: arm guard (manica), shoulder guard (galerus), net (rete), trident (fuscina or tridens), and dagger (pugio).
The line was opened from Gallarate to Varese on 26 September 1865; in 1885 it went to the state network Rete Mediterranea, operated by the Società per le Strade Ferrate del Mediterraneo. In 1894 the Società per le Strade Ferrate del Mediterraneo extended the line from Varese to Porto Ceresio, through a beloved touristic area until the shore of Lake Lugano. In 1899 the line was chosen for an experimental electrification with a third rail at 650 V DC, put into service in 1901–1902.Giovanni Cornolò: Locomotive elettriche FS., Parma, Ermanno Albertelli Editore, 1994. .
At nine weeks, male differentiation of the gonads and the testes is well underway. Internal changes include the formation of the tubular seminar Chris tubules in the Rete testis from the primary sex cord. Developing on the outside surface of each testis is a Phibro muscular cord called the gubernaculum. This structure attaches to the inferior portion of the testis and extends to the labial sacral fold of the same side at the same time, a portion of the embryonic mesonephric duct adjacent to the testis becomes attached and convoluted informs the epididymis.
Terna S.p.A. is a transmission system operator (TSO) based in Rome, Italy. It operates through Terna Rete Italia, that manages the Italian transmission grid and Terna Plus which is in charge of new business opportunities and non- traditional activities in Brazil, Uruguay, Peru and Chile.Terna - The Wall Street Journal With of power lines or around 98% of the Italian high-voltage power transmission grid, Terna is the first independent electricity transmission grid operator in Europe and the sixth in the world based on the size of its electrical grid.
Other countercurrent exchange circuits where the incoming and outgoing fluids touch each other are used for retaining a high concentration of a dissolved substance or for retaining heat, or for allowing the external buildup of the heat or concentration at one point in the system. Countercurrent exchange circuits or loops are found extensively in nature, specifically in biologic systems. In vertebrates, they are called a rete mirabile, originally the name of an organ in fish gills for absorbing oxygen from the water. It is mimicked in industrial systems.
Specific zones are associated with sexual response, and include the lips and nipples in addition to areas of the genitals, notably the foreskin and corona of the glans penis, clitoris and rest of the vulva, and perianal skin. The rete ridges of the epithelium are well-formed and more of the nerves are close to the external surface of the skin than in normal-haired skin. These zones have a high density of innervation, and may have an efficiency of wound healing and a capacity to stimulate generalized cerebral arousal.
The carotid rete has been observed to have strong insulation properties, allowing blood to travel a great distance throughout the body while reducing the amount of heat lost to surrounding tissues prior to the brain and eyes. The elevated temperatures in the brain and eyes allow the southern bluefin tuna to search for food more effectively by increasing reaction time and creating stronger vision. This is due to the increased axon activity that is directly correlated to temperature: high temperatures allowing signal transduction to take place more quickly.
The final round of the competition was broadcast by Rete Rossa, the second most important RAI radio station. Twenty songs took part in the competition, performed by three artists only–Nilla Pizzi, Duo Fasano, and Achille Togliani. Starting from the third edition of the festival, held in 1953, each song was performed by two different artists with different orchestras and arrangements. Two years later, in 1955, the festival made its first appearance on television, since part of the final night was also broadcast by RAI's channel Programma Nazionale.
The brain was found to maintain a warmer temperature when compared to carotid arterial blood supply. Researchers hypothesize three mechanisms that could explain this finding: # They first suggest a possible increase in metabolic heat production within the brain tissue itself to compensate for the colder arterial blood arriving from the core. # They also speculate that there is an overall decrease in cerebral blood flow to the brain. # Finally, they suggest that warm venous blood perfusion at the ophthalmic rete helps to warm the cerebral blood that supplies the hypothalamus.
In 1980, Fazio debuted as a radio personality, appearing in local stations such as Radio Vecchia Savona and Radio Golfo Ligure. In 1982, he debuted as a celebrity impersonator at RAI's radio program Black Out. After winning a contest organized by the Italian national broadcaster, Fazio made his first TV appearance in 1983, when he took part in Raffaella Carrà's show Pronto Raffaella?. During the following years, he appeared in many other TV programs, including Rai 1's game show Loretta Goggi in quiz, Rete 4's Sponsor City and Rai 3's L'orecchiocchio.
The tubules are lined with a layer of cells (germ cells) that from puberty into old age, develop into sperm cells (also known as spermatozoa or male gametes). The developing sperm travel through the seminiferous tubules to the rete testis located in the mediastinum testis, to the efferent ducts, and then to the epididymis where newly created sperm cells mature (see spermatogenesis). The sperm move into the vas deferens, and are eventually expelled through the urethra and out of the urethral orifice through muscular contractions. However, most fish do not possess seminiferous tubules.
This can occur as a result of panting, which starts to occur when body temperatures reach (although this may start when the air temperature is as low as ). This can cause dehydration and may put birds into a lethargic state. Additionally, the zebra finch's simple rete mirabile ophthalmicum (found in the head) makes it unable to cool the brain as effectively as other birds, like the common kestrel. This lacking ability to cool the brain, in combination with dehydration, may cause the mass die-offs found during prolonged periods of high temperatures.
On the Rete 4 network in 2005, Lara was the guest star on Iva Zanicchi's show Io tra di voi and sang some Sinatra duets with singer Bobby Solo for a musical tribute to Sinatra. In 2007, on RAI TG1, Lara starred on the Uno Mattina studio broadcast. In 2008, Lara performed on the Italian television program I Migliori Anni, broadcast by Rai Uno in collaboration with Endemol Italia and hosted by Serena Grandi. Lara performed live in June 2008 for La Notte della Solidarietà with a concert at the PalaSharp in Milan.
Padova railway station, or Padua railway station (), sometimes referred to as Padova Centrale, is the main station serving the city and comune of Padua, in the Veneto region, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1842, the station forms part of the Milan–Venice railway, and is a junction for direct branch lines to Bologna, Bassano del Grappa and Camposampiero (junction for the line to Calalzo). Padova railway station is also the terminus of a short goods line to Padova Interporto. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
Civic Network (Rete Civica, RC) is a left-wing political party active in Aosta Valley, Italy. The party was formed in January 2019 upon the break-up of Civic Commitment, an alike grouping which had obtained 7.5% of the vote and three regional councillors. Two of them, Alberto Bertin (a former member of Autonomy Liberty Participation Ecology) and Chiara Minelli, departed from the third and launched RC. In June 2019, when the regional government led by Antonio Fosson of For Our Valley was in crisis, RC became part of the governing majority.
Milan is also home to many architecture, art, and fashion periodicals, including Abitare, Casabella, Domus, Flash Art, Gioia, Grazia, and Vogue Italia. Panorama and Oggi, two of Italy's most important weekly news magazines, are also published in Milan. Several commercial broadcast television networks have their national headquarters in the Milan conurbation, including Mediaset Group (owner of Canale 5, Italia 1, Iris and Rete 4), Telelombardia and MTV Italy. National radio stations based in Milan include Radio Deejay, Radio 105 Network, R101 (Italy), Radio Popolare, RTL 102.5, Radio Capital and Virgin Radio Italia.
Property of the railroad was assigned to RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) from 2001 (an FS company as well). Today railways in Italy continue to experience the difficulties and incongruities inherited from past times. Modern high-speed lines, trains and locomotives (E402) are paired by others, especially in southern Italy, in which the transportation speed is still comparable to that of the early 19th century. The freight sector has only recently showed signs of recovery from the long-term depressed state it has lived in through the 20th century.
Mondino follows Galen and the Islamic commentators in placing the lens in the center of the eye. Much of the medical information included in Anathomia is derived from commentaries on Hippocrates, Aristotle, and Galen written by Islamic scholars. Although Mondino makes frequent references to his personal dissection experiences, he nonetheless repeats numerous fallacies reported by these textual authorities. For example, he propagates the incorrect Galenic notion that a rete mirabile ("miraculous network") of blood vessels exists at the base of the human brain when it is in fact present only in ungulates.
In 1884, Austria-Hungary nationalised the lines of the KRB so that the operation of the Austrian part of the railway passed to the Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways (Kaiserlich-königliche österreichische Staatsbahnen, KkStb). The following year, following the Railway Convention of 1885,Law of 27 April 1885, no. 3048 3048 "for the operation of the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Sicilian networks and for the operation of complementary railways". the Italian section became part of the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network), operated by the Società Italiana per le Strade Ferrate Meridionali.
Chieti is a culture and administration-oriented town, with the tourism being a consistent sector: it hosts the seat of the homonymous province, a tribunal, a television station (Rete 8), hospitals, sport venues and different hotels. The agriculture has remained an important economic sector thanks to horticulture, cereal cultivation, olive cultivation, cultivation of tobacco and cultivation of grapes, from which are made well- known wines, such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. Financial services, trade and industry are developed, especially in the production of food, chemicals, paper, building material, packaging, engineering industry, and metallurgy.
Barletta railway station () is the main station serving the city and comune of Barletta, in the region of Apulia, southern Italy. Opened in 1864, it forms part of the Adriatic Railway (Ancona–Lecce), and is also a junction station for two other, regional, lines, the Barletta–Spinazzola railway, and the Bari–Barletta railway, operated by Ferrotramviaria. In the past, the station was also connected with the Port of Barletta, by a line ending at Barletta Marittima railway station, but that connection is now closed. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
On 4 April 1988, the station started broadcasting under the same name Radio 10. Radio 10 was an initiative of former VARA DJ Jeroen Soer. Commercial radio in the Netherlands was still not allowed, but they bypassed that with the so-called U-turn construction, using the possibility that commercial stations from abroad were allowed on the Dutch cable and Radio 10 passed the Amsterdam-made programs via satellite to Italy. Radio 10 was officially an Italian station of the company Rete Zero, with an FM frequency (105 FM) in Milan.
His best-known and long-lasting TV programme, Casa Vianello, was a sit-com shot from 1988 to 2008 and broadcast by Mediaset channels Canale 5 and later moved to Rete 4, in which he and Mondaini played fictionalised versions of themselves. He died at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan on 15 April 2010 at the age of 87.Tv. Raimondo Vianello, the gentleman of Italian humour has just died. His wife Sandra Mondaini died on 21 September 2010, in San Raffaele hospital in Milan, 5 months after he died.
The large eyes of the bigeye thresher are adapted for hunting in low light conditions. It is one of the few sharks that conduct a diel vertical migration, staying in deep water during the day and moving into surface waters at night to feed. To protect its sensitive brain and eyes from the temperature changes accompanying these movements, the bigeye thresher has a vascular exchange system called the rete mirabile around those organs. This species feeds mainly on fish and squid, which are stunned via whip-like strikes of the long tail.
Spermatogonial stem cell therapy (SSCT) has been proposed as a potential method to restore fertility in such cancer survivors who desire to have children later in life. The method has been tested in numerous animal models including non-human primates; Hermann et al. took out and isolated SSCs from prepubertal and adult rhesus macaques before treating them with busulfan (an alkylating agent used in chemotherapy). SSCs were then injected back into the rete testis of the same animal that they were taken from ~10–12 weeks after treatment; and spermatogenesis was observed in almost all recipients (16/17).
Chiasso railway station () is a station owned by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS). It serves the town of Chiasso, in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, and is also a border station between Switzerland and Italy. The station is both the southern terminus of the Gotthard railway (owned and operated by SBB CFF FFS), and the northern terminus of the Milan–Chiasso railway (owned by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and operated by Trenitalia). It is situated a few metres from the border, and is separated from the Italian city of Como by twin railway tunnels through the Monte Olimpino.
In July 2008, Andrea Maffei Architects, Arata Isozaki & Associates, Ove Arup & Partners and M + T & Partners won a competition to design a new station, Bologna Centrale (AV), for high-speed trains between Milan and Florence. The proposal was selected by architect Gae Aulenti, as president of the International Competition Jury, and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, the main entity behind the competition. The station uses light in its design, with the internal courtyards of the bridged station creating poles of light. Inside the station it is possible to see the levels below, and different shapes of windows were designed for the courtyards.
Multipotent adult stem cells have the capacity to be self-renewing and give rise to different cell types. Stem cells give rise to progenitor cells, which are cells that are not self-renewing, but can generate several types of cells. The extent of stem cell involvement in cutaneous (skin) wound healing is complex and not fully understood. It is thought that the epidermis and dermis are reconstituted by mitotically active stem cells that reside at the apex of rete ridges (basal stem cells or BSC), the bulge of hair follicles (hair follicular stem cell or HFSC), and the papillary dermis (dermal stem cells).
Male and female infertility has been observed in mice mutant for GEMC1, MCIDAS, or CCNO due to defective MCC differentiation. In females, MCC loss in the oviducts is the probable cause of infertility. The efferent duct epithelia of males contains MCCs that mobilize luminal fluids to prevent the agglutination of spermatozoa and promote fluid reabsorption. In mice mutant for these genes, degeneration of Sertoli cells, thinning of the seminiferous tubule epithelia, dilation of the rete testes and seminiferous tubules, sperm agglutinations in the efferent ducts, and lack of spermatozoa in the epididymis has been observed in conjunction with defects in MCC development.
On 6 September 1982 Rusconi signed a collaboration agreement with Silvio Berlusconi, the owner of Canale 5, mainly focusing on a common policy for the management of advertising limits but also concerning the communal use of high frequency networks and the sharing of some programs. However, on 30 November of that same year, the Rusconi group are forced to sell the network for about 29 billion lire (approximately €15 Million) to Berlusconi, who merges it with "Rete 10", also owned by Berlusconi, to found the new Italia 1, that according to the Fininvest company is oriented for a young audience.
The Naples–Foggia railway is an Italian railway line connecting Naples, in Campania, with Foggia, in Apulia, crossing the Apennines at the saddle of Ariano (Sella di Ariano) through a series of tunnels. The railway infrastructure is managed by the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which classifies it as one of its primary lines. It is part of a westward extension of Pan- European Corridor VIII. It is being developed as a line with features of high- speed rail with the doubling of single-track sections and the raising of line speeds to between 180 km/h and 200 km/h.
As a result, the rete vascular system is located mostly at the site of the gills, but also at several other organs in the tuna. Specifically, due to the high metabolic demand of the southern bluefin tuna, the stomach is an organ requiring a high demand of thermoregulation. It is only able to digest food at specific temperatures, often much higher than the temperature of the surrounding water. Since the food is ingested along with a large amount of seawater, the contents must be heated to a temperature that allows the food to be digested and the nutrients and ions taken up.
It was therefore decided to shorten the route by bypassing Perugia. On 15 November 1875 a new cutoff was opened between Chiusi–Chianciano Terme and Terontola across generally flat land west of Lake Trasimeno, shortening the line by about 58 kilometers and avoiding the tortuous line through Perugia, which was reduced to being a secondary line. During the reorganisation of the railways in 1885, the line became part of a new concession, the Società Italiana per le strade ferrate meridionali (Italian Company for the Southern Railway)—known as the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network)—which had its headquarters in Florence.
In the summer, the thermal conductance of the Arctic foxes body is 114% higher than the winter, but their body core temperature is constant year-round. One way that Arctic foxes regulate their body temperature is by utilizing a countercurrent heat exchange in the blood of their legs. Arctic foxes can constantly keep their feet above the tissue freezing point (−1 °C) when standing on cold substrates without losing mobility or feeling pain. They do this by increasing vasodilation and blood flow to a capillary rete in the pad surface, which is in direct contact with the snow rather than the entire foot.
The Fininvest group is composed of a number of companies, such as Arnoldo Mondadori Editore (one of Italy's leading publishing companies), (a theater in Milan), Alba Servizi Aerotrasporti (a private jet company) and Fininvest Gestione Servizi. Fininvest is the largest shareholder of Mediaset, which is currently the biggest private entertainment competitor in Italy, owning three channels in Italy (Canale 5, Italia 1, Rete 4), two in Spain, the film production company Medusa Film, a digital TV broadcasting network, and many other companies related to TV broadcasting. The deal to sell Mediaset Premium was collapsed in 2016. Fininvest's voting rights on Mediolanum S.p.
Zafferani worked as an entrepreneur in the field of clothing and after that remained in the field of commerce. She is married and is a mother of four daughters. She also became a founding member and the first President of the RETE Movement in 2012 and has served as a member of the Grand and General Council for three consecutive elections since 2013.Capitani Reggenti: i profili di Alessandro Mancini e Grazia Zafferani She is a granddaughter of Luigi Zafferani, who served as a Captain Regent in 1947 and a niece of Rossano Zafferani, who held the same post in 1987–1988.
Monza railway station () is the main station serving the city and comune of Monza, in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. Opened in 1840 under the Habsburg Monarchy, the station forms part of the Milan–Chiasso railway, and is a junction station for two secondary lines, the Lecco–Milan railway and the Monza–Molteno–Lecco railway. It is also the main railway junction of the Brianza geographical area, which encompasses the province of Monza and Brianza, Province of Lecco, Province of Como and part of the Province of Milan. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
Poster advertising the Imperial Line The Imperial Line from Rome to Addis Abeba, from a 1937 promotional map by Ala Littoria The East African network (Rete A.O.I.) at the end of the Imperial Line The Imperial Line (Italian Linea dell'Impero or Linea Imperiale) was a flight route of the Italian national airline Ala Littoria between 1935 and 1941 during the Fascist era. It was the longest route in the Italian colonial empire in Africa and "the jewel in Ala Littoria's crown".Caprotti, "Imagining Ethiopia", pp. 388–90. It connected Rome with Benghazi (Libya), Asmara (Eritrea), Addis Abeba (Ethiopia) and Mogadishu (Somalia).
In 1871 he was hired by the Società per le Strade Ferrate Meridionali and was engaged in the construction of the difficult line between L'Aquila and Sulmona. He later became Head of the Traction Division of the Società per le Strade Ferrate Calabro-Sicule. In 1885 when the Sicilian railroads were broken up with the establishment of Rete Sicula, headed by Riccardo Bianchi, Cappa became the director of the Material and Traction Service. He was one of the main promoters of the establishment of the ferry in the Strait of Messina that began at the end of 1899.
In 1990, the Zürich S-Bahn, which covers the largest area, went into service. S-Bahn services were set up in the course of the Bahn 2000 initiative in Central Switzerland (a collaborative network of S-Bahn Luzern and Stadtbahn Zug), St. Gallen (S-Bahn St. Gallen) and Ticino (Rete celere del Canton Ticino). The Basel trinational S-Bahn services the Basel metropolitan area, thus providing cross-border transportation into both France and Germany. A tunnel connecting Basel's two large intercity stations (Basel Badischer Bahnhof and Basel SBB) is planned as Herzstück Regio-S-Bahn Basel (lit.
The testis is developed in much the same way as the ovary, originating from mesothelium as well as mesonephros. Like the ovary, in its earliest stages it consists of a central mass covered by a surface epithelium. In the central mass a series of cords appear, and the periphery of the mass is converted into the tunica albuginea, thus excluding the surface epithelium from any part in the formation of the tissue of the testis. The cords of the central mass run together toward the future hilum and form a network which ultimately becomes the rete testis.

Historical and current signals The Italian railway signalling currently in use, employed on the Italian national railway network, is regulated by the "Regulation on signals" (Regolamento sui segnali), issued by the Italian railway infrastructure manager, RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, part of the FSI Group). Signals have historically been derived from early British semaphore signals, along with the practice of running on the left side on double track main lines. Consequently, signals are placed on the left of the tracks. Current practice makes use of light signals of the "searchlight" type on conventional lines, and of the ERTMS cab signalling on high-speed lines.
When the animal lowers its head the blood rushes down fairly unopposed and a rete mirabile in the upper neck, with its large cross sectional area, prevents excess blood flow to the brain. When it raises again, the blood vessels constrict and direct blood into the brain so the animal does not faint. The jugular veins contain several (most commonly seven) valves to prevent blood flowing back into the head from the inferior vena cava and right atrium while the head is lowered. Conversely, the blood vessels in the lower legs are under great pressure because of the weight of fluid pressing down on them.
Most sharks are "cold-blooded" or, more precisely, poikilothermic, meaning that their internal body temperature matches that of their ambient environment. Members of the family Lamnidae (such as the shortfin mako shark and the great white shark) are homeothermic and maintain a higher body temperature than the surrounding water. In these sharks, a strip of aerobic red muscle located near the center of the body generates the heat, which the body retains via a countercurrent exchange mechanism by a system of blood vessels called the rete mirabile ("miraculous net"). The common thresher and bigeye thresher sharks have a similar mechanism for maintaining an elevated body temperature.
In these cases, the rete mirabile may lower limb temperature and therefore the metabolic requirement for oxygen and nutrients in the tissues of the limb. This would be desirable when the blood supply to the limb is limited as a result of a "diving reflex" diverting blood away from the limbs during diving or burrowing or because of postural restrictions on blood supply in the case of clinging, arboreal animals. In the last case, slow-moving arboreal mammals such as sloths, lorises and arboreal anteaters possess retia of the highly developed type known as vascular bundles. The structure and function of these mammalian retia mirabilia are reviewed by O'Dea (1990).
Mediaset's story began in 1978, with Telemilano, a local Milan-based broadcaster that became Canale 5 two years later and began broadcasting nationally. Canale 5 was subsequently joined by Italia 1 (bought from the publishing group Rusconi in 1982) and Rete 4 (acquired from Arnoldo Mondadori Editore in 1984). Television area was called RTI and became established with three national analogue networks, supported by an advertising sales company, Publitalia '80, that exclusively collects advertising for all three channels, and two other companies, Videotime, that manages TV technology and production activities, and Elettronica Industriale that guarantees signal distribution through the management of the broadcasting infrastructure.
In 1968, Giorgio Mondadori, Arnoldo's son and chairman of the publishing house, decided to assign the project for the new headquarters to Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, after having admired his work on the Foreign Ministry (Palácio Itamaraty) in Brasilia three years earlier. Construction began in 1971 and the new headquarters was inaugurated in January 1975. Through a joint venture with Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso in 1976, Mondadori published La Repubblica, its first daily newspaper; Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso was finally separated from Mondadori in 1991. In 1981 Mondadori entered the television business with the launch of the Rete Quattro TV station, which was sold to Fininvest a few years later.
An astrolabe consists of a disk, called the mater (mother), which is deep enough to hold one or more flat plates called tympans, or climates. A tympan is made for a specific latitude and is engraved with a stereographic projection of circles denoting azimuth and altitude and representing the portion of the celestial sphere above the local horizon. The rim of the mater is typically graduated into hours of time, degrees of arc, or both. Above the mater and tympan, the rete, a framework bearing a projection of the ecliptic plane and several pointers indicating the positions of the brightest stars, is free to rotate.
The Empoli–Siena–Chiusi railway (also known in Italian as the ferrovia Centrale Toscana—Central Tuscan railway) is an Italian railway that connects Empoli and Siena to the Florence–Rome railway at Chiusi. The route between Empoli and Siena follows the valleys of Elsa river as far as Poggibonsi and then the Staggia stream, which were very convenient when the line was planned. The route is in fact flat and substantially straight from Empoli to Poggibonsi, then ascends with wide and long curves through the hills of central Tuscany to Siena. It is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which considers it a complementary line.
A retiarius stabs at a secutor with his trident in this mosaic from the villa at Nennig, c. 2nd–3rd century CE. A retiarius (plural retiarii; literally, "net-man" in Latin) was a Roman gladiator who fought with equipment styled on that of a fisherman: a weighted net (rete (3rd decl.), hence the name), a three-pointed trident (fuscina or tridens), and a dagger (pugio). The retiarius was lightly armoured, wearing an arm guard (manica) and a shoulder guard (galerus). Typically, his clothing consisted only of a loincloth (subligaculum) held in place by a wide belt, or of a short tunic with light padding.
Production systems may vary on the expressive power of conditions in production rules. Accordingly, the pattern matching algorithm which collects production rules with matched conditions may range from the naive—trying all rules in sequence, stopping at the first match—to the optimized, in which rules are "compiled" into a network of inter- related conditions. The latter is illustrated by the RETE algorithm, designed by Charles L. Forgy in1974, which is used in a series of production systems, called OPS and originally developed at Carnegie Mellon University culminating in OPS5 in the early eighties. OPS5 may be viewed as a full-fledged programming language for production system programming.

Imperia Porto Maurizio railway station () was one of two stations serving the city and comune of Imperia, in Liguria, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1872, it formed part of the Genoa–Ventimiglia railway, and was situated just over two thirds along the way from Genoa towards Ventimiglia. It was replaced on December 11, 2016, along with Imperia's other former railway station, Imperia Oneglia, to the east, by a new inland station, simply named Imperia, situated on a new double-track line replacing the old coastal route. The station was managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), however, the commercial area of the passenger building was managed by Centostazioni.
The epidermis appears thin and has effaced rete ridges as well as excess amounts of keratin clogging the openings of the follicles. The basal layer of the epidermis sometimes appears to have holes in it since some of the cells in this layer have broken apart. The remains of skin cells that have died through a process called apoptosis are visible in the upper layer of the dermis and the basal layer of the epidermis. The differential diagnosis includes actinic keratoses, sebborheic dermatitis, lupus vulgaris, sarcoidosis, drug rash, Bowen’s disease, lichen planus, tertiary syphilis, polymorphous light eruption, lymphocytic infiltration, psoriasis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
With the conventions of 1885, Rete Sicula took over the lines of Società per le Strade Ferrate Calabro-Sicule and had to face the problems of constructing new lines and introducing modern locomotives. The engineer Guglielmo Cappa designed the Class 400 steam locomotives which were re-registered as FS Class 910 on nationalization in 1905. The locomotive was designed to tackle steeply- graded lines, such as Messina - Palermo with its pass of the Peloritani Mountains and its long tunnel. It also had to be suitable for minor local or commuter services and to have the characteristic of bidirectionality, to gain time at terminal stations by avoiding the need for turntables.
After modifying six of the pre-existing Class 255 to a compound arrangement as an experiment, with positive results, the Ufficio d'Arte di Torino of the Rete Mediterranea designed a two-cylinder compound locomotive meant for mixed service; this design also saw the beginning of the adoption of the Walschaerts valve gear on Italian locomotives. The round- topped boiler on the first 49 units had standard tubes; however, on the last 20 units it was replaced by one with Serve tubes, which brought the power of these locomotives from the original to . These locomotives were built between 1894 and 1901 by Ernesto Breda and MÁVAG.
He finished sixth at the 1968 Olympic Games, this is the best performance for an Italian high jumper at the Summer Olympics like Rodolfo Bergamo at 1976 Summer Olympics. He has conducted various editions and sports columns of TG5, Italia 1 and Rete 4, always present in all the initiatives in the information field of the Fininvest group.
The Rete celere del Canton Ticino (literally: Ticino fast network) is a commuter rail network serving the Swiss canton of Ticino and the north-western part of the Italian region Lombardy. It is similar to the S-Bahn networks to be found in the German speaking regions of Switzerland, a similarity accentuated by the use of S prefixes for its line numbers. The network consists of five standard gauge lines operated by TiLo, and a metre gauge line (S60) operated by FLP. Both TiLo and FLP are members of the Arcobaleno tariff network and thus share a common tariff with each other and other regional transport operators.
On the cells of the more superficial layers of the stratum corneum are straight, dark lines, perhaps ridges caused by pressure of the over- or underlying polygonal cells. The individual cells of the horny layer are usually easily isolated in the belly and neck regions where they never become very thick; but in the back the cells in this layer are very numerous and fuse with each other to form the bony plates; here the rete is the only clearly differentiated layer. Whether prickle cells are present in the epidermis of the crocodile Bronn is not certain, though he thinks they probably are. RathkeRathke 1866.
The project started in 1994 less than two years after the murder of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino with a ten days march from Capaci (near Palermo) to Licata, Sicily. From 2006 the official name of the Association is "Associazione Arci". With Libera, CGIL, Rete degli Studenti Medi and UdU organizes the "Campi della Legalità" summer camps in different Italian towns (like Corleone) where volunteers can work on lands that were property of Sicilian Mafia families, which now are controlled by the State and administrated by these Associations. Volunteers can visit places linked with the fight against mafia and they also learn about history of the anti-mafia movement with the help of people that are directly involved.
Another example suggest that heat generation in fugu swim bladder will be transported out of the site of generation, however it may still be constantly recovered back through the rete mirabile so as to maintain the temperature of the gas gland higher than other areas of the body. _The overall net reaction of the futile cycle involves the consumption of ATP and generation of heat as follows:_ ATP + H2O --> ADP + Pi + Heat Another example of futile cycle benefiting in generation of heat is found in bumble bees. The futile cycle involving Fbp and Pfk is used by bumble bees to produce heat in flight muscles and warm up their bodies considerably at low ambient temperatures.

Democrats in Network (Democratici in Rete, DiR) were a social-democratic faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy. After the departure of Veltroni from party leadership in February 2009, Veltroniani talked about organizing their faction, but finally there was a split between the staunch supporters of the new leader Dario Franceschini and those who soon started to criticize him. The latter, led by Goffredo Bettini and Michele Meta, who were mainly social democrats coming from the Italian Communist Party launched Democrats in Network. In the 2009 Democratic Party leadership election the faction supported Ignazio Marino, whose campaign was coordinated by Meta, differently from Veltroni himself and most Veltroniani who supported Dario Franceschini.
On September 16, 2009, SKY Italia (fully owned by News Corporation) filed a lawsuit to the Court of Milan, Italy, against Reti Televisive Italiane and Publitalia '80 for a violation of Article 82 of European Treaty that regulates free economic competition between companies, in particular for refusing to allow SKY Italia to purchase advertising on the three main Mediaset television channels (Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4), exercising Article 700 of the Italian Civil Procedural Code who permit to require an urgent action. Mediaset has rejected the charge of antitrust violations, stating that in 2009 it had broadcast SKY Italia commercials 3107 times on its channels, whereas SKY Italia has always refused to broadcast Mediaset commercials.
RSI opened a submission period for interested artists and composers to submit their entries from 21 July 2013 until the deadline on 30 September 2013. Originally, RSI planned a 7-song regional final that would have been broadcast via radio on RSI Rete Tre from Lugano, however, the broadcaster opted to suspend the regional final and extend the submission deadline to 28 October 2013. The winner of the regional singing competition Fattore Voce 2013, Agata Pelloni, was originally to be given a wildcard entry to compete in the regional final. After the submission deadline closed, RSI received 23 entries, which were evaluated by an expert jury consisting of 2008 Swiss entrant Paolo Meneguzzi, Ramona Cerutti and Igor Negrini.
The official decision to use electricity was made only half a year before its opening by the then-still-new SBB. Brown, Boveri & Cie (BBC) were commissioned to carry out the electrification. They decided in 1904 to use the three-phase system being introduced in Italy, with a three-phase power supply of 3,400 volts at 15.8 Hz using two overhead wires with the track acting as the third conductor. BBC had no electric locomotives and initially acquired three locomotives built for the Ferrovia della Valtellina—the owner of the lines from Colico to Chiavenna and Tirano, which had been electrified with this system in 1901 and 1902—from their owner, the Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network) railway company.
Describing, in detail, an advanced universal astrolabe of Blagrave's design - incorporating the designs of earlier astrolabists. The 'jewel' consisted of four movable parts - Mater, Rete, Label, and Rule - which were lavishly illustrated in the book's frontispiece and engraved plates. The 'jewel's' uses were described in the third book as being used for anything from trigonometry, to navigation, to astrology; in Blagrave's words from the 'jewel' one could draw "so infinite a number of conclusions, more than I thinke I shall ever have time to write". The astrolabe contains some significant similarities to the universal astrolabe of Andalusian astrolabist Ali ibn Khalaf and David A. King has suggested that Blagrave copied his design for the 'Jewel' from ibn Khalaf.

Genealogy: The OPS series and systems they are inspired from or inspired. OPS5 is a rule-based or production system computer language, notable as the first such language to be used in a successful expert system, the R1/XCON system used to configure VAX computers. The OPS (said to be short for "Official Production System") family was developed in the late 1970s by Charles Forgy while at Carnegie Mellon University. Allen Newell's research group in artificial intelligence had been working on production systems for some time, but Forgy's implementation, based on his Rete algorithm, was especially efficient, sufficiently so that it was possible to scale up to larger problems involving hundreds or thousands of rules.
The first locomotive was the only one given a running number by the Società per le strade ferrate dell'Alta Italia, and was also the only one given a name ("Vittorio Emanuele II", in honour of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy), as just as it was completed the transition between the SFAI and the Rete Mediterranea was being executed. The Class 650 proved very successful, being able to pull 130 tons over the new Giovi railway at a speed of . However, the steady increasing of the train's weight meant that these locomotives were gradually replaced by more powerful ones. The last locomotives of the Class 650 were withdrawn in the 1920s, with none surviving into preservation.
The southern bluefin tuna seems to increase blood flow to the stomach at times of increased digestion, by increasing the diameter of blood vessels flowing to the stomach, allowing more warm blood to reach the organ at a quicker rate. The eyes and the brain of the southern bluefin tuna are a common area of research involving the thermoregulatory systems of this species. Both the eyes and the brain maintain a remarkably high temperature when compared to the surrounding water environment, often higher than the temperature of the water. The carotid rete carries blood to the brain and seems to play a role in the elevated temperatures of both the brain and the eyes of the southern bluefin tuna.

Together with Dorelli, Loretta also play in the sit- com Due per tre, a series produced in three seasons, broadcast on Canale 5 on sunday afternoon between 1997 and 1999. In the summer of 1997 she also hosting the Rai 1 variety La zanzara d'oro, a talent show dedicated to the discovery of new comic actors, in which she is supported by actor Enzo Iacchetti. On Mediaset she leads with Mike Bongiorno four editions of the musical program Viva Napoli aired on Rete 4 (from 1998 to 2002), where she duets with many competitors on very popular Canzone Napoletana repertoire. She had also won the second edition of 1996 as a competitor.
To that end he had a device built that had a short pole attached to his mouth that he could direct so he could use touch the letters on his typewriter that became a permanent fixture in his room. Rocchi also became part of the Rete Radié Resch network that the journalist and politician Ettore Masina co-founded alongside the French liberation theologian Paul Gauthier. He also started writing articles for the Messaggero di Sant'Antonio in the 1970s until his death. In one such article in 1975 he said that "these are bestial times ... when God is excluded, the door is opened to the beast" in reference to unloving people and the need for people to love more.
Following the conclusions of a parliamentary commission of inquiry, established to examine the serious problems of management of the Italian private railway companies, 23 on April 1884, agreements were stipulated between the State and three large private companies, for a duration of 60 years, and were approved on 6 March 1885. The agreements divided the Italian railways in a longitudinal direction with respect to the peninsula and assigned to the Società per le Strade Ferrate Meridionali (SFM) the tracks of most of the railway network bordering on the Adriatic. This included lines east of Milan, and in Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, and totalled 4,379 km. The network was called Rete Adriatica (Adriatic Network).
Lyon Turin Ferroviaire (LTF), subsidiary of Réseau Ferré de France (RFF) and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), was the early developer of the joint French- Italian part of the future rail link between Lyon and Turin. It has now been replaced in that role by Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin (TELT), with the same staff and leadership. The critical part of this planned line is the Mont d'Ambin Base Tunnel between Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in France and the Susa Valley in Italy. In November 2007, the European Commission granted €671.8 million (up to 30% of its total value) to the transborder section of the Lyon- Turin link through its multiannual TEN-T program (2007-2013).
1 del 1961 In the year 2000, the plant management passed to Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which is classified in the category "Silver". Recently, the station has been affected by modernization works for the deployment of an ACEI train control system, the lengthening of station platforms, and the construction of a railway bridge serving tracks 2-3-4. About €7 million was spent, jointly funded by RFI and the Region of Piedmont. In September 2008, a local health unit analysis had revealed small amounts of asbestos, originating from Balangero in the 1970s, in some stones at the station, but this was though not to cause particular danger to the health of travelers and workers.
Many theoligans and scholars also thought that it went against the tenets of Islam; as only God should be able to determine events rather than astrologers looking at the positions of the planets. In order to calculate someone's horoscope, an astrologer would use 3 tools: an astrolabe, ephemeris and a takht. First, the astrologer would use an astrolabe to find the position of the sun, align the rule with the persons time of birth and then align the rete to establish the altitude of the sun on that date. Next, the astrologer would use an Ephemeris, a table denoting the mean position of the planets and stars within the sky at any given time.

The Region of Campania and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI, the owner of the rail network) have identified the site for the construction of a new passenger station called "Vesuvio Est" (Vesuvius East) in the commune of Striano, which will allow passengers to interchange with the Circumvesuviana Naples–Ottaviano–Sarno railway line. On 30 March 2007 an international competition was launched for the preliminary and final design of the station with a prize of €1,245,000. The estimated cost of the new station is €32.5 million and according to the agreement between Campania and RFI was planned to be completed in 2008 or 2009. The station will have an area of indoors and in total.
The station was opened on 16 June 1885, upon the inauguration of the Lecco–Colico–Sondrio section of the Valtellina railway. Like the rest of the line, the station was part of the Rete Adriatica (RA) (), which, from 1 July 1885, was headed by the management of the Società per le Strade Ferrate Meridionali (SFM) (). On 29 June 1902, the line was extended to Tirano, as the Alta Valtellina railway, operated by the Società Ferrovia Alta Valtellina (FAV) (). As a consequence of the nationalization of the Italian railways on 1 July 1905, the Valtellina line from Lecco and its rolling stock passed into the ownership of the FS. In 1970, the FS also assumed control of the Alta Valtellina line to Tirano.

Shark biting into the fish head teaser bait next to a cage in False Bay, South Africa To more successfully hunt fast and agile prey such as sea lions, the great white has adapted to maintain a body temperature warmer than the surrounding water. One of these adaptations is a "rete mirabile" (Latin for "wonderful net"). This close web-like structure of veins and arteries, located along each lateral side of the shark, conserves heat by warming the cooler arterial blood with the venous blood that has been warmed by the working muscles. This keeps certain parts of the body (particularly the stomach) at temperatures up to above that of the surrounding water, while the heart and gills remain at sea temperature.
In 1995 she joined TAV SpA, and in 1998 moved to the Commercial Directorate of the Infrastructure Division of Ferrovie dello Stato to take responsibility for the structure of planning and strategic marketing of the Strategic, Quality and Systems Directorate of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA, the infrastructure manager. In 2006 she was named Director of Strategy and Planning of RFI SpA, with responsibility for planning, marketing and business plans, international programmes and strategies for the development of the network. Internationally, she is a member of the Infrastructure Commission of the UIC (Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer), project manager for the UIC's European Performance Regime project and vice-president of RNE. In 2008 she was named Director of Central Strategy and Planning for Ferrovie dello Stato.
Over the years, the Sardinian railway network has remained largely unchanged as a route: not considering the closure of some sections, the only changes to the routes concerned mainly small / medium-sized variants and rectification works to speed up journeys. In any case, the total lack of electrification of the network and the tortuosity of the lines in certain areas mean that the average train speeds are rather low compared to the rest of Italy, which in some cases has compromised the competitiveness of the railway towards bus lines. Commonly, the Sardinian network is divided into the main ordinary gauge network (that of the FS, managed through the subsidiary Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) and the secondary narrow gauge network (of the ARST).

The Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo (Italian song festival of Sanremo) is the most popular Italian song contest and awards ceremony, held annually in the town of Sanremo, Liguria, and consisting of a competition amongst previously unreleased songs. Usually referred to as Festival di Sanremo, or outside Italy as Sanremo Music Festival, it was the inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the music equivalent to the Premio Regia Televisiva for television, the Premio Ubu for stage performances, and the Premio David di Donatello for motion pictures. The first edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, held between 29 and 31 January 1951, was broadcast by RAI's radio station Rete Rossa, and its only three participants were Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani, and Duo Fasano.
A referendum was held in the landlocked microstate on 20 October 2013 in which the citizens were asked whether the country should submit an application to join the European Union. The proposal was rejected because of a low turnout, even though 50.3% of voters approved it. The "Yes" campaign was supported by the main left-wing parties (Socialist Party, United Left) and the Union for the Republic whereas the Sammarinese Christian Democratic Party suggested voting with a blank ballot, the Popular Alliance declared itself neutral, and We Sammarinese and the RETE movement supported the "No" campaign. The Citizens' Rights Directive, which defines the right of free movement for the European citizens, may have been an important reason for those voting no.
Its catchment area will be the Agro Nocerino Sarnese area and the area south-east of Mount Vesuvius, which have a total population of 742,000. It will offer fast connections with Salerno and Naples and eventually with Rome, Battipaglia and Reggio di Calabria. RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) announced in 2010 January 22 that it had selected the Italian-Belgian group led by Samyn and Partners architects and engineers to design the proposed Vesuvio Est high speed station on the Napoli – Salerno route. According to RFI estimates, the new station will be served by about 196 trains a day (52 long distance trains and 144 Circumvesuviana trains, a train every 15 minutes) and will be used by about 10,000 passengers per day, including 2,000 in the peaks.
The line is a double-track line entirely electrified at 3000 volts DC. The management of the infrastructure is carried out by the Rete Ferroviaria Italiana. It is equipped with the Sistema Controllo Marcia Treno train-control system, centralised traffic control (Bologna Centrale–Castelbolognese Riolo Terme) and Sistema di Comando e Controllo (Castelbolognese Riolo Terme-Ancona Marittima) (another form of centralised traffic control). Operated by the central operations managers based in Bologna Centrale (Bologna Centrale–Rimini) and at Bari Lamasinata (Rimini–Ancona Marittima), it uses the RS4 Codici train protection system allowing maximum speeds between 115 and 200 km/h. Since 2015, the line has been undergoing major infrastructure upgrading works, allowing the maximum speed of the line to be raised to 200 km/h.
The Verona–Bologna railway is a major Italian railway connecting Verona and Bologna and part of the major axis from the Brenner railway to the Bologna–Florence and on to Rome. The line is part of the Line 1 of Trans- European Transport Networks (TEN-T). It is considered a "fundamental" line by the state railways Ferrovie dello Stato (FS). The railway infrastructure is controlled and managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana a subsidiary of FS. After being single track for most of its length for almost all of its history, in recent years it has been progressively duplicated; this was completed on 26 July 2009 with the opening of the second track between the crossover at P.C. Ostiglia Nord and Poggio Rusco station.

The locomotive was built 1901 by Thomson-Houston and General Electric as 650 V DC 3rd rail locomotive like the ones in Paris. Originally classified as RM01, it became under FS the E420.001 and was transferred to Naples, where it was used for freight service on the Naples Subway. This line was later electrified with 3000 V and the locomotive was sold to the nearby Cumana railway, where it remained in service till 1963.
The origins of the festival date back to 1582, when the Senate of Messina gave a hair of the Virgin Mary to the town of Palmi, in gratitude for the aid provided to the Sicilian town during a plague. As a result of this gift, Palmi Messina imported the tradition of celebrating the Assumption of Mary with a votive chariot that represents the event. Since 1900, the Varia has had several awards, including the cover of an issue of La Domenica del Corriere, a postage stamp produced by Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato and combined with a national lottery. The event has been the subject of documentaries and profiles broadcast on Rai 3 (2009) and Rete 4 (2006), as well as live broadcasts on local stations and satellite.
He was on the run since 1987 and in 1992, he was included in the list of the 30 most wanted fugitives in Italy, wanted for murder, kidnapping and mafia association. Era nascosta nei bunker sotterranei, Gazzetta del Sud, December 11, 2001 On December 10, 2001, he was arrested with his wife in an underground bunker in his hometown Platì. He had become a father four times in his fourteen years on the run. Platì, scoperta una rete di bunker usata da latitanti della 'ndrangheta, Corriere della Sera, July 30, 2002 The operation of the Carabinieri in Platì revealed a complex system of caches, bunkers, hidden doors and tunnels in the mountains of Platì and country, used for decades by Barbaro and other families Platì to escape the police.
In addition to the major players in Melbourne, there are many smaller radio stations catering to particular community interests. 3CR caters to a diverse range of community groups and community languages, 3XY 1422AM provides Greek language programming, 1593AM (Rete Italia) presents 24 hr/day Italian, 3CW 1341AM Chinese, and Pacific Islanders are now catered to on 3XX 1611AM which is better known for its 80s and 90s music during the day, and 3KND presents indigenous community programming. The FM band also features smaller suburban stations, and low powered services in various suburbs featuring programming ranging from dance music to English radio, Arabic programming and more. Light FM on 89.9 FM is Melbourne's community Christian station with the slogan of "Good friends, great music and a message of hope".
In March 2011, the company publicly complained that the Italian rail infrastructure manager, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), was obstructing its plans to run trains by making last-minute changes to network statements, as well as questioning the legality of its access charges. RFI is controlled by the same government group that controls Trenitalia, the incumbent provider of passenger train services in Italy. Later that year, it was reported that the launch date had been delayed into 2012; this was reportedly due to the project's complexity. According to industry consultant Andrea Giuricin, NTV found it difficult to obtain technical approval and safety licences to operate its new fleet of Alstom- built Automotrice à grande vitesse (AGV) trains; Giuricin also acknowledged the establishment process as being quite complex in general.
Tunas achieve endothermy by conserving the heat generated through normal metabolism. In all tunas, the heart operates at ambient temperature, as it receives cooled blood, and coronary circulation is directly from the gills. The rete mirabile ("wonderful net"), the intertwining of veins and arteries in the body's periphery, allows nearly all of the metabolic heat from venous blood to be "re-claimed" and transferred to the arterial blood via a counter-current exchange system, thus mitigating the effects of surface cooling. This allows the tuna to elevate the temperatures of the highly-aerobic tissues of the skeletal muscles, eyes and brain, which supports faster swimming speeds and reduced energy expenditure, and which enables them to survive in cooler waters over a wider range of ocean environments than those of other fish.
The commune of Modane is home to an international railway station, the Gare de Modane, in which receives trains from Turin in Italy, through the Fréjus Rail Tunnel, and with trains to Chambéry, as well as the TGV on the Milan (Italy) to Paris route. The whole of the French part of the line is owned by the Réseau Ferré de France (RFF), the upstream network is managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, society of FS (Ferrovie dello Stato), the lower part and the station being under the management of the SNCF. There is therefore an electrical disconnection and signaling changes upstream (catenary supports also bear inscriptions in Italian). The railway line serving Modane is the Maurienne line, or its official name the ligne de Culoz à Modane (frontière) [line of Culoz to Modane (border)].
Matteo Salvini was born in Milan in 1973, the son of a business executive and a housewife. In 1985, at the age of 12, he took part in game show Doppio slalom (the Italian version of Blockbusters), hosted by Corrado Tedeschi on Canale 5 and in 1993, at the age of 20, he participated on Il pranzo è servito, hosted by Davide Mengacci, which was broadcast by Rete 4. Salvini studied at the Classical Lyceum "Alessandro Manzoni" in Milan and later attended the University of Milan where he first studied political science and then moved to history; however, he interrupted his studies in order to start his political career and never graduated. During his youth, Salvini used to visit the left-wing self- managed social centre Leoncavallo, although the nature of this relationship is controversial.
This stratified squamous epithelium is maintained by cell division within the stratum basale, in which differentiating cells slowly displace outwards through the stratum spinosum to the stratum corneum, where cells are continually shed from the surface. In normal skin, the rate of production equals the rate of loss; about two weeks are needed for a cell to migrate from the basal cell layer to the top of the granular cell layer, and an additional two weeks to cross the stratum corneum.
The Class 290 was a development of the earlier Class 270 locomotives, studied under the Rete Adriatica; it kept the wheelbase, but replaced the boiler with a slightly bigger one, with a minimally coned rear ring. Its construction was continued under the new FS management, which made it one of its twelve standard designs; it was the last and most successful 0-6-0 Italian locomotive. The class was built by several Italian and foreign manufacturers, between 1899 and 1913. The first 30 locomotives were fitted with a two-axle tender, with a coal capacity of and a water capacity of ; the subsequent ones were fitted with the three-axle tender that would see widespread service under the FS (especially behind the Class 625 and Class 640 locomotives).
As a regional endotherm, Cretoxyrhina may have possessed red muscles closer to its body axis like this porbeagle shark. Cretoxyrhina represents one of the earliest forms and possible origins of endothermy in mackerel sharks. Possessing regional endothermy (also known as mesothermy), it may have possessed a build similar to modern regionally endothermic sharks like members of the thresher shark and lamnid families, where red muscles are closer to the body axis compared to ectothermic sharks (whose red muscles are closer to the body circumference), and a system of specialized blood vessels called rete mirabile (Latin for "wonderful nets") is present, allowing metabolic heat to be conserved and exchanged to vital organs. This morphological build allows the shark to be partially warm-blooded,John K. Carlson, Kenneth J. Goldman, and Christopher G. Lowe. (2004).
Born in Naples on April 26, 1954, began his career at age 19 as part of an RAI orchestra conducted by maestro Gianni Desideri, Without the transmission Senza Rete on Rai Uno in Naples, with the agency ATAF Antonio Fusco and Franco Baldi. In 1981 he participated in the Festival of Naples with the song Doce e amaro.Antonio Sciotti - Cantanapoli. Enciclopedia del Festival della Canzone Napoletana 1952-1981, Luca Torre editore (2011) Become friends with Nino D'Angelo, who wrote two songs for Nardi, the first and the second LP Ricordi and Illusione, containing other songs written by him on the issues of melodic song and Neapolitan love, in a period in which he went to fashion's song "jacket" given in vogue a decade before by the likes of Mario Merola, Pino Mauro and Mario Trevi.
In addition, Italia Uno was then the most watched channel in the Slovenian littoral and might therefore have been deemed unwanted competition. Other big commercial Italian channels were also targets of the so-called Frequency war, for example most frequencies of Canale 5, Italia Uno's sister channel, were covered too, as were those of the second sister channel, Rete 4. La7 (formerly Telemontecarlo) and MTV Italia (formerly Videomusic) were also subject to interferences, however so were also the Slovenian POP TV and Kanal A, subject to interferences from the Italian side (though the Italians were the first to broadcast on those frequencies). There was also a mysterious fire at the Conconello transmitter around the same time, which damaged the transmission equipment of Telefriuli, causing it to reduce the strength of its signal, limiting its availability on Slovenian territory.
Designed in Florence for the Rete Adriatica by engineers such as Enrico Plancher and Giuseppe Zara, the Class 600 was meant to pull both passenger and freight trains on the steep and curvy Italian lines at a reasonable speed. It introduced several novelties in Italian locomotive practice, the most notable of which is undoubtedly the Italian bogie: a derivation of the German Krauss-Helmholtz bogie, it was meant to ensure good performance in curves without requiring a four-wheel bogie; it proved very successful, and it would become a staple of Italian steam locomotives. Another notable feature was the application of the Walschaerts valve gear on a locomotive with internal cylinders but outside piston valves, coupled with a compound engine. The arrangement would return on other locomotive classes such as the Class 630 and the Class 745.
Its red muscles are located deep within the body, adjacent to the spine, and its lateral rete is composed of over 4,000 small arteries arranged in bands. It has one of the highest core temperatures within its family, 8–10 °C (14–18 °F) warmer than that of the surrounding water. Being warm-bodied may allow this shark to maintain higher cruising speeds, hunt in deep water for extended periods of time, and/or enter higher latitudes during winter to exploit food resources not available to other sharks. The orbital retia of the porbeagle can raise the temperature of its brain and eyes by 3–6 °C (5–11 °F), and likely serve to buffer those sensitive organs against the large temperature shifts that accompany changes in depth; potential benefits of this include increased visual acuity and reduced response times.
A necessary consequence of these benefits was that Lisp programs tended to be slower and less robust than compiled languages of the time such as C. A common approach in these early days was to take an expert system application and repackage the inference engine used for that system as a re- usable tool other researchers could use for the development of other expert systems. For example, MYCIN was an early expert system for medical diagnosis and EMYCIN was an inference engine extrapolated from MYCIN and made available for other researchers. As expert systems moved from research prototypes to deployed systems there was more focus on issues such as speed and robustness. One of the first and most popular forward chaining engines was OPS5 which used the Rete algorithm to optimize the efficiency of rule firing.
In order for this theory to be correct, some kind of opening was needed to interconnect the ventricles, and Galen claimed to have found them. So paramount was Galen's authority that for 1400 years a succession of anatomists had claimed to find these holes, until Vesalius admitted he could not find them. Nonetheless, he did not venture to dispute Galen on the distribution of blood, being unable to offer any other solution, and so supposed that it diffused through the unbroken partition between the ventricles. Other famous examples of Vesalius disproving Galen's assertions were his discoveries that the lower jaw (mandible) was composed of only one bone, not two (which Galen had assumed based on animal dissection) and that humans lack the rete mirabile, a network of blood vessels at the base of the brain that is found in sheep and other ungulates.
Early Type of Valtellina Three- Phase Gearless Locomotive, 1907 Class E.430 is the first example, worldwide, of an electric locomotive powered by three-phase current. It was built for Rete Adriatica (the Adriatic Network), which at that time operated the Ferrovia della Valtellina, by Ganz Works, for the electrical part, and by the Royal Hungarian State Machine Factory (MÁVAG), for the mechanical part. These were, at the time, the most advanced factories in the world in the electric railway sector. The locomotives were numbered 34.1 and 34.2 under the management of the Adriatic Network. Acquired in 1905 by the Ferrovie dello Stato, the numbering changed to 0341-0342 and in 1914 they were re-numbered E.430.1 and E.430.2. Since the Valtellina lines were the first in Italy to use three-phase electric power for the haulage of trains, the E.430 was used from the beginning.
In 1980 Carelli was hired by Fininvest, the holding company of Silvio Berlusconi, as editor and journalist of Canale 5. In the same period he was editor of Notizienotte and worked in the editing of Canale 5 News, which replaced Notizienotte. In 1986 he moved to Rome as head of the local Fininvest office. From 1986 to 1992 he hosted with Cesara Buonamici the weekly politics program Parlamento in, broadcast on Canale 5 and Rete 4.Emilio Carelli – Confindustria In 1989, with Tullio Camiglieri, he was the creator and curator of 80s no longer 80s, a program on Italia 1 dedicated to the events and to the most important people of culture and politics during the 1980s.Ottanta non più Ottanta, la storia in videoclip In 1990 he created the program Miti for Italia 1, focusing on the myths and fashions of young people from the 1950s to the 1980s.
From 1989, Boccasanta focused his clinical and scientific activity in the medical-surgical diagnosis and therapy of the complex disorder of the pelvic static with a particular reference to the surgical treatment of the rectal prolapse. He took a master-class at the “Service de Chirurgie Digestive” of the “Hopital Saint Antoine” in Paris directed by Prof. Roland Parc and at the “Service de Chirurgie Digestive” of the “Clinique Saint Roch” in Montpellier directed by Dr. Guy Costalat. In 1993, he was responsible for a research for the “Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico” in Milan titled “Modello sperimentale nel maiale: rettopessi con rete di mersilene al promontorio per via laparoscopica” and for another research titled “Indicazioni e limiti al trattamento endoscopico nella patologia ano-rettale nei confronti della chirurgia ambulatoriale”. In 1994, he was responsible for a research titled ”Rettopessi per via laparoscopica nel prolasso rettale: trasferimento della metodica sperimentale alla pratica clinica”.
A soundtrack of the same name is then released, containing all the songs of the show, in the italian adaptation written by Carla Vistarini. In the spring of 1983 Loretta went from Canale 5 to Rete 4 (a television station owned by the Arnoldo Mondadori Editore group at the time), where she conducted, together with Paolo Panelli and Luciano Salce, Gran varietà, a show on the early evening of sunday. Within the program, Goggi presents her new album with an autobiographical and existential cut, Pieno d'amore; among the songs of the album that are the most successful, in addition to the song that gives the title to the disc, which reaches the top places in the hit parade, she recorded Oceano, a single used as the closing theme of the show. The songs will be promoted in numerous other television programs of the period in many radio programs.
In 1987 he participated for the first time in the program of Rai 1 Napoli prima e dopo, where he performs songs from the classic Neapolitan song, over the years there will also participate in other occasions, with the last occurred in 2005 In 2000 and 2001 he participated transmission Viva Napoli, led by Mike Bongiorno and Loretta Goggi on Rete 4. in 2006 to make a tour in the United States with Gigi D'Alessio. On 27 May 2011 he took part, along with other colleagues at the concert held in the Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, in favor of the election of the candidate of the PDL Gianni Lettieri for mayor of the city.Bagno di folla a Piazza Plebiscito. Puntuale alle 19 l’arrivo di Silvio In April 2012, Nardi again with his band to Atlantic City where he holds three shows, including two with Francesco Merola.

The foundation invested on Notrine S.A. in 2006 (for 15% shares). In 2007 the foundation invested on Enìa (0.37% of the total shares). In 2008 as well as the investment in Banca Monte Parma, the ownership in Aereoterminal Venezia was also decreased to 3.29% of the total shares.
The Class 670 was designed by Eng. Giuseppe Zara of the Rete Adriatica (one of the two major railway companies in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth century); its design was very unorthodox, as the boiler was reversed on the frames, so that the cab and the firebox were leading and supported by the bogie, while the cylinders were at the rear. The compound arrangement was also highly peculiar, as it was the first experiment with the Plancher compound engine: this arrangement meant that there were four cylinders, in which the two high pressure (HP) ones and the two low pressure (LP) ones were paired together respectively on the left- hand and the right-hand side of the boiler, and each pair was served by a single piston valve through a crossed-port arrangement. While simplifying the valve gear, this feature made it difficult to equalize the work done by each pair of cylinders, and this provoked hunting.
Fava was born in Catania, Sicily. His father Giuseppe Fava, founder of the I Siciliani monthly magazine – for which Claudio Fava also worked – was killed by the Mafia on 5 January 1984. A graduate in law (1980) and a qualified journalist (since 1982). He was one of the founders of La Rete and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the Sicilian Regional Assembly in 1991. In 1992-1994 served as member of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy. Later he was the Regional Secretary of the Democrats of the Left (DS) in Sicily (1999–2001), and became a member of the national executive of the DS in 1999. On 5 November 2006, he worked as an International Observer of the Nicaraguan General Elections in 2006 for the European Union. Also in November 2006, he led the European parliament's special investigation into the role of European Union member states in the operation of CIA secret prisons.
Fantaghiro was produced by Rete Italia and filmed mostly in the former Czechoslovakia; the last two films were shot Thailand and Cuba. The musical score, including the theme song "Mio nemico" ("My Enemy"), was written by Amedeo Minghi and performed by Rossana Casale. Kim Rossi Stuart, who has auditioned for the part of Romualdo at the age of 22, after only two films in the TV series already decided to not want to play his character anymore (his appearance in the fourth film is just with stock footage from the first film) and for this reason every sequel in the series has been developed based on the choices of the actors to stay or leave the cast. Brigitte Nielsen said she based her deliberately over-the-top role on the character of the Evil Queen in Disney's Snow White; her role as the Black Witch was received so well by the public that Bava decided to revive the character for three successive chapters of the saga.
The Class 680 was designed as the "normalized" successor of the famous Class 500 (reclassified by the Ferrovie dello Stato as Class 670) fast locomotives of the Rete Adriatica; in fact, even before the RA ended up being nationalized in the Ferrovie dello Stato in 1905, there was already a project (with the projected classification RA 550 for a fast 2-6-2 locomotive which shared several similarities with what would end up becoming, under the FS ownership, the Class 680. The Class featured the widespread Italian bogie, and the same Plancher compound engine of the Class 500, an arrangement in which the two high pressure (HP) and the two low pressure (LP) cylinders were paired together respectively on the left and the right side of the locomotive, with each pair being served by a single piston valve via crossed ports. This ingenious arrangement was simple, but it made the locomotive somewhat unbalanced and unstable, especially at higher speed. The Class 680 was built from 1907 to 1909 in 151 units by Ernesto Breda, Gio.
In 1900 the Italian engineer Enrico Plancher developed a new and curious design of compound engine, which first appeared on the Rete Adriatica 500 class express locomotive; it was notable for being an asymmetrical four-cylinder design, in which the two AP and the two LP cylinders were grouped together, with each couple being served by a single piston valve which admitted steam simultaneously to the opposite ends of the two cylinders. The prototype of the class was presented at the International Railway Congress of 1900 in Paris and was looked at with interest, while not meeting with outstanding success; however, on the long run the asymmetrical design, while simple, proved to be rather awkward, as it was difficult to equalize the work of each side of the locomotive and this caused hunting. The Plancher engine was used again on some Ferrovie dello Stato designs like the FS Class 680 express locomotives and the FS Class 470 heavy freight locomotives, but no further application was approved after the widespread adoption of the superheater.
The team produced a set of songs including "Io e te da soli" ("You and Me Alone"), "Insieme" ("Together"), "Amor mio" ("Love of Mine"), "Io vivrò senza te" ("I'll Live without You"), "E penso a te" ("And I Think of You"). One of the first introductions of the new repertoire was the Senza Rete live televised concert from the Auditorio A in Naples on 20 January 1970. The material provided by Mogol-Battisti was the core for five albums. Among them, ...bugiardo più che mai...più incosciente che mai... was Mina's first independent album to reach #1 of the weekly Italian charts and was the biggest selling album of 1969 in Italy. ...quando tu mi spiavi in cima a un batticuore... was seventh on the annual record chart of 1970. Del mio meglio... (My Best...) was second in 1971. Mina was the biggest seller of 1972. The latter two albums were recorded during a break from live performances to give birth to her daughter Benedetta.Mina with Alberto Lupo, 1972 Mina's comeback took place at RAI's variety series Teatro 10 in spring 1972.
3 Italia (officially H3G S.p.A; formerly known as Andala 3G)Andala 3G SpA was founded in November 1999 and controlled by Sardinian internet company Tiscali and Franco Bernabè. It was the first mobile operator to offer 3G services (UMTS), launched in March 2003. As of March 2010, 3 Italia had 9 million registered customers. It had a roaming agreement with TIM which allowed its customers to get a 2G service when they moved out of 3G coverage, allowing 3 to offer coverage to up to 99.8% of the population on 2G service. On 22 February 2006, 3 announced the first launch of HSDPA technology in Italy, marketed as ADSM (a contraction of ADSL Mobile). On 14 May 2006, 3 was the first in Italy to launch Digital Mobile TV using DVB-H technology. From June 2008 to November 2011, 3 Italy offered free of charge the viewing of Rai 1, Rai 2, Canale 5, Italia 1, Rete 4, SKY Meteo24, Current TV and La7 television channels with DVB-H technology.
The sculpture was found in the summer of 1964 in the sea off Fano on the Adriatic coast of Italy, snagged in the nets of an Italian fishing trawler, the Ferri Ferruccio.Other well- known underwater bronze finds have been retrieved, generally from shipwreck sites, in the Aegean and Mediterranean: the Antikythera mechanism, the Antikythera Ephebe and the portrait head of a Stoic discovered by sponge- divers at Antikythera in 1900, the Mahdia shipwreck off the coast of Tunisia, 1907; the Marathon Boy off the coast of Marathon, 1925; the standing Poseidon of Cape Artemision found off Cape Artemision in northern Euboea, 1926; the horse and Rider found off Cape Artemision, 1928 and 1937; the Riace bronzes, found in 1972; the Dancing Satyr of Mazara del Vallo, near Brindisi, 1992; and the Apoxyomenos recovered from the sea off the Croatian island of Lošinj in 1999."Archeologia in rete" Italian art dealers paid the fishermen $5,600 USD for it. The Getty Museum bought it from German art dealer Herman Heinz Herzer for almost $4M USD in 1977.
Matteo Silva (born 17 October 1960, in Ulm) is an Italian-Swiss author, music producer and ethnomusicologist. He was born in Ulm, Germany, grew up in Bologna and Lugano, Switzerland, and studied composition at Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan with Niccolò Castiglioni and philosophy in Venice; founder of the independent music record label Amiata Records; as radio editor he collaborated with Rete 2, a cultural channel of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation and produced the “Encyclopedia of World Music” in 65 volumes for the Italian RCS Group published by Fabbri; for the group “Espresso – La Repubblica” he produced the CD series of “World Music” published as attachments to the weekly magazine L'Espresso, a work that for the first time in Italy let music of less known cultures be accessible to a larger audience. For Amiata Records, Wergo, and other independent record labels he produced more than 130 contemporary and ethnic music CDs in the USA, Germany, France and Italy. With Skeye music, he brought Carla Bruni and her first album “Quel qu’un m’à dit” to Italy just like the “Overhead” music group and other French and English artists.
Berlusconi's extensive control over the media has been widely criticised by some analysts, some press freedom organisations, and extensively on several Italian newspapers, national and private TV channels by opposition leaders and in general opposition parties members, who allege Italy's media has limited freedom of expression. However such coverage of the complaint in practice put under discussion the point of the complaint itself. The Freedom of the Press 2004 Global Survey, an annual study issued by the American organisation Freedom House, downgraded Italy's ranking from 'Free' to 'Partly Free' due to Berlusconi's influence over RAI, a ranking which, in "Western Europe" was shared only with Turkey (). Reporters Without Borders states that in 2004, "The conflict of interests involving prime minister Silvio Berlusconi and his vast media empire was still not resolved and continued to threaten news diversity". In April 2004, the International Federation of Journalists joined the criticism, objecting to the passage of a law vetoed by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi in 2003, which critics believe is designed to protect Berlusconi's reported 90% control of the Italian national media. Berlusconi owns via Mediaset 3 of 7 national TV channels: (Canale 5, Italia 1, and Rete 4).
