Tanks were pressurised before the Welbike went into action to save time. The Welbike was then packed into the parachute container with the rear wheel to the base of the parachute canister, which had a percussion head to minimise damage on landing. The NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws (WoO) is a division of 410ci (6.7L) winged sprint cars that run all over the United States and have a few events in Canada. The cars have wide right rear tire and a 410 cubic inch engine with mechanical fuel injection. These sprint cars have no battery or a starter in them, necessitating a push start by a quad or truck. They also do not have flywheels, clutches or transmissions, but the direct drive system can be engaged or disengaged from the cockpit.

The Tyrrells were disqualified for separate infringements - Salo finished 10th but his car was found post-race to be underweight, while Katayama finished 12th but was disqualified for receiving an illegal push-start on the parade lap.

On lap three, Ukawa takes seventh position from Abe on the start/finish straight. American rookie John Hopkins has crashed out and is shown trying to push start his bike in the grass at the Casio Triangle. Hopkins' teammate Garry McCoy has also crashed out, the marshalls helping him to lift up his bike as he is seen trying to struggle to stand up properly due to an accident in pre-season testing where he broke both of his ankles. Jacque also gets the news that he has made a jump start, forcing him to take a stop-and-go penalty.

The programme was broadcast in the United States in 1983 by PBS. In addition, stock footage from The Computer Programme was incorporated into the 2009 BBC one-off drama Micro Men, which focused on the early fortunes of British computer manufacturers Sinclair Research and Acorn Computers (manufacturers of the ZX Spectrum and BBC Micro, respectively), which both featured heavily on the show during its original run. The first race, a non-championship affair which attracted a strong international entry, was won by Team Lotus with Jim Clark taking over the car of teammate Trevor Taylor to claim the win; Clark was black-flagged after receiving a push-start at a confused race start. The meeting was marred by the death of young Mexican star Ricardo Rodríguez, killed in practice in a Rob Walker run Lotus 24 on the Peraltada. This race would become one of the most notorious in F1 history, as the culmination of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna's tumultuous two year rivalry as teammates at McLaren. The Japanese Grand Prix decided the 1989 Drivers' Championship in Prost's favour, after a collision on lap 47 at the final chicane between him and Senna put them both off the track. While Prost abandoned his stalled car, Senna restarted his, made a pit stop to change his front wing, and overhauled Alessandro Nannini to take victory. Following the race Senna was controversially disqualified for getting a push start from the marshals to rejoin the circuit, handing the title to Prost.

The South African Grand Prix which had started the 1982 season had been moved to the end of the year, and so the season began in Brazil. At the Jacarepagua Riocentro Autodrome in Rio de Janeiro, defending champion Keke Rosberg did something he had done only once in 1982 and took pole position for the race. However, his race gradually deteriorated from there as he lost the lead early on to Nelson Piquet and then caught fire during his pitstop. With the fire extinguished, the Finn valiantly fought his way back from ninth to finish second behind Piquet, but was subsequently disqualified for receiving a push start in the pits.

When Andretti suffered electrical issues on lap 177, Guerrero took the lead and made his final pit stop on lap 182, as he was nearly one lap ahead of 2nd place Al Unser, Sr. After the pit stop, Guerrero stalled his engine, then stalled it again after his pit crew managed to push start it. Guerrero's brake master cylinder and clutch had been damaged in the incident with Bettenhausen. During this time, Guerrero lost one lap to Unser, who was now leading, but he would unlap himself with nine laps to go. Despite a late race caution for Andretti, Guerrero would lose the race to Unser, who won a record-tying fourth Indianapolis 500.

On lap 46 out of 53, Senna, desperate to pass Prost to keep his championship hopes alive, tried to overtake the Frenchman at the last chicane but Prost closed the door and the two collided. Prost, claiming his innocence, was later found to have deliberately turn into Senna on television replays. Such is the relentless attitude of Senna, he waved the marshalls over for a push-start – within the rules if a car is deemed to be parked in a dangerous position. Senna re- entered the race via a run-off-road made it back the pits for a new front wing, managing to re-take the lead in the final few laps, crossing the line first.

The video features three stories of people being either generous or compassionate: the first shows a young man delivering a bottle of milk to an elderly lady, the second shows another young man helping someone push start their car, and the final story shows a young woman consoling another young woman, who is crying. Toyota Vios 1.5 J with optional TRD Sportivo body kit (NCP150, Malaysia) The third generation of the Vios was launched in Malaysia on October 2, 2013, and is sold in five different trim choices (1.5J manual, 1.5J automatic, 1.5E automatic, 1.5G automatic and 1.5 TRD Sportivo automatic), similar to the previous generation. While not intuitive to learn, once the rider got used to it, the semi-automatic transmission, "took the terror out of motorcycling" for novice riders. Unlike many scooters CVTs, the centrifugal clutch made it possible to push start the Super Cub, a useful advantage if the need arose. The early Super Cubs used a 6 volt ignition magneto mounted on the flywheel, with a battery to help maintain power to the lights, while later ones were upgraded to capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) systems. The lubrication system did not use an oil pump or oil filter, but was a primitive splash-fed system for both the crankcase and gearbox, with a non-consumable screen strainer to collect debris in the engine oil.

In 2014, Honda Philippines unveiled a facelift version of the Civic that includes new sportier front grille while the 1.8 EXi is no longer available and the 1.8 S now receives front fog lights. The 1.8 E receives new alloy wheels and is available in standard or Modulo kit and the 2.0 EL now receives side curtain airbags and a choice between standard model or with Mugen kit. The ECON button is available in all models while the 1.8 E and 2.0 EL receives the touchscreen audio panel with USB and HDMI connectivity and push start or stop engine. Starting from September 2015, models for the Turkish market were available with factory converted LPG version with the commencement of a new LPG-only assembly line in Honda's Turkey plant.

At higher speeds, the rear pump provided all the oil volume that was needed to operate the transmission and the front pump's slide was nearly centered, causing that pump to produce little output. In first gear, power flow was through the forward planetary gear assembly (either 1.45:1 or 1.55:1 reduction, depending on the model), then the fluid coupling, followed by the rear gear assembly (2.63:1 reduction) and through the reverse gear assembly (normally locked) to the output shaft. That is, the input torus of the fluid coupling ran at a lower speed than the engine, due to the reduction of the forward gear assembly.

Beginning in 2008, teams in the top three series may not roll a car more than three pit box lengths to push start a car. This prevents teams from pushing a car the length of pit road when the starter motor fails. This was his first ever Italian Grand Prix victory after years of misfortunes including the collision with Hill the previous year. Alesi, who re-took the lead following Hill's exit, finished second after losing out to Schumacher in the pit stops, and Häkkinen eventually recovered to third place thanks in part to Irvine's retirement. The Jordan-Peugeots of Martin Brundle and Rubens Barrichello finished in fourth and fifth positions respectively after a race-long battle for fourth place, Brundle overtaking at the Parabolica corner after Barrichello accidentally turned his engine off while trying to investigate a clutch problem, and had to get a push-start from the marshalls to continue. Pedro Diniz finished sixth ahead of Villeneuve, who only managed seventh place after Johnny Herbert's engine cut out on the final lap.

Fluid life starting in 1964 was extended from to , providing justification for the deletion of the drain plug from the oil pan. For 1966, the twin-cable shift and park control mechanism (a holdover from the push-button operation) was replaced by a solid shift control linkage consisting of a series of pushrods, rotating rods and levers. The rear pump was eliminated, which simplified and cost-reduced the transmission but rendered push-starting impossible; Chrysler engineers reasoned that improved electrical and fuel systems reduced the need to push-start vehicles, and safety concerns weighed against doing so. The gated shift quadrants also permitted the deletion of the reverse safety blocker valve which, in TorqueFlites made through 1965, had shifted the transmission harmlessly into neutral if the reverse position were selected with the vehicle moving forward above approximately .

Teams can be penalized if the car is serviced outside of the designated pit stall, if the car drives over an air hose, or if any of the old tires are not on the pit wall side (usually left) of the vehicle's centerline before the car leaves. The most common penalty for a pit infraction is a "drive-through": the driver must enter the pits again, under the green flag, and maintain the pit speed limit for the entire length of pit road. If a car stalls, the pit crew may provide a push start, but the car cannot be pushed beyond three pit stalls ahead of its own, or beyond the pit exit light and steward at the end of pit road. Pit stops are timed from the moment the car stops in its pit stall, until service is finished and the car leaves the stall.

The transmission uses special transmission fluid sent under pressure by an oil pump to control various clutches and bands, modifying the speed of the output depending on the vehicle's running condition. Not to be confused with the impeller inside the torque converter, the pump is typically a gear pump mounted between the torque converter and the planetary gear set. It draws transmission fluid from a pump and pressurizes it, which is needed for transmission components to operate. The input for the pump is connected to the torque converter housing, which in turn is bolted to the engine's flexplate, so the pump provides pressure whenever the engine is running and there is enough transmission fluid, but the disadvantage is that when the engine is not running, no oil pressure is available to operate the main components of the transmission, and it is thus impossible to push-start a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission with no rear pump.

However, handling issues persisted, and Lazier dropped out before the halfway point. Around Lap 30, Buzz Calkins started mounting a charge towards the front, overtaking Scott Sharp on Lap 32, Guerrero on Lap 35 and Luyendyk on Lap 51. Heavy traffic after the pit stops helped Calkins catch Stewart on Lap 55, and he took the lead on Lap 66, just before the second round of pit stops. While heading to the pits, Luyendyk ran out of fuel, and his car stalled while exiting the pit box, needing a push start. Traffic, solid pace and a fast pit stop by Calkins, executed two laps after Stewart's, allowed him to open a huge gap: on Lap 84, only Stewart (15.3 seconds behind) and Guerrero (17.2 seconds) were still on the lead lap, and by the halfway mark, a cautious Stewart was 21 seconds behind Calkins, before the Menard driver reacted in order to not lose a lap, staying within 15 seconds of the leader. Behind him, Luyendyk began to regain ground, steadily climbing up to 7th place on Lap 127.

In 2015, an additional variant of the Vios was added: 1.5 TRD, it receives TRD alloy wheels and TRD bodykits available in Orange Metallic, Blue Metallic or White Pearl. Additional updated colours as of 2016 were Blackish Red Mica and Alumina Jade Metallic (E and G only). The facelifted version of the Vios is based on the Yaris ATIV sedan and was launched on July 19, 2018. Trim levels for the locally built Vios are 1.3 Base, 1.3 J, 1.3 E, 1.5 G, and also the 1.3 E Prime and 1.5 G Prime which replaced the TRD Sportivo. The Vios is offered with the choice of 1.3 L or 1.5 L engine. Transmission for either engine is 5-speed manual or a CVT with seven simulated speeds. Generally, trim levels are Base, J, E and top-of-the-line G. The base model comes with 2 SRS Airbag, the middle and high grade models have 7 SRS Airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC). Daytime Running Lights (DRL), rear solid disc brakes, multi function steering switches, automatic climate control with digital display and smart keyless entry with push start are reserved for the top-of-the-line model. The base and J are only offered with 5-speed manual transmission.
