After being released by CS Louhans-Cuiseaux in 2001, Ferrère was unable to find a new club and had been training with FC Metz. Motherwell manager Eric Black, who was previously a Metz player, became aware of Ferrère's availability and signed him on an 18-month contract. Scollard emigrated to Chicago and did not return, and is supposed to have been happily married with no ill feelings toward Padraig. Padraig is not known to have maintained any further love interests, though he was often quoted as referring to his fiddle as his wife, being quoted once as saying "When I stroke her across the belly she purrs". Puss first appears in Shrek 2, much like Dragon in the first film. He often overpowers his enemies by distracting them with his "cute kitten" looks.
