The rays may extend for lengths up to several times the diameter of their originating crater, and are often accompanied by small secondary craters formed by larger chunks of ejecta. Ray systems have been identified on the Moon, Earth (Kamil Crater), Mercury, and some moons of the outer planets. Originally it was thought that they existed only on planets or moons lacking an atmosphere, but more recently they have been identified on Mars in infrared images taken from orbit by 2001 Mars Odysseys thermal imager. Gratteri crater, a rayed crater on Mars that was imaged by THEMIS at night.
These trips were recorded both in Norman's books as well as a 25-part TV series, under the same title, which documented their extraordinary odysseys and is narrated by the presenters, Jeremy and Derek, and their expert guests about the history, archaeology, art, natural history and the landscape of the many places they visit. The article The First Emperor of China Destroys Most Records of the Past Along with 460, or More, Scholars. Was written by Jeremy Norman in 2010 and is considered to be a very valuable and incredibly useful piece of information for students.

The 4-speed automatic transmission in 1999 to 2001 models had serious problems with transmission durability. Honda spokesman Mike Spencer stated that four-speed models were afflicted with a bad bearing that could break apart, scattering fragments of metal that clogged fluid passageways in the transmission, causing it to shift erratically. Honda responded to the problems by extending the warranty on the transmission on American 1999–2001 models to 7 years or . A class action settlement further extended coverage to or 93 months for some 1999–2001 Odysseys in the US.Honda Transmission Settlement Canada is not included.
The plot of The Giant Movie Director (1994) involved toys coming to life. Rolfe attended the University of the Arts and has a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Since his early teen years, Rolfe operated and ran an annual "haunted house" Halloween attraction out of his parents' garage (the same garage was later used in building a graveyard for his horror comedy film The Deader, the Better and again used in his film/series pilot Jersey Odysseys: Legend of the Blue Hole), using a collection of several props and antiques that he later reused multiple times in his other films.
In 2010, Greek archaeologists discovered the remains of an 8th- century BC palace in the area of Agios Athanasios, leading to reports that this might have been the site of Odysseus's palace. Modern scholars generally accept the identification of modern Ithaca with Homeric IthacaJonathan Brown, In search of Homeric Ithaca (Canberra: Parrot Press, 2020). National Library of Australia, Trove, and explain discrepancies between the Odysseys description and the actual topography as the product of lack of first-hand knowledge of the island, or as poetic license. Letitia Elizabeth Landon accepts Ithaca as the home of Ulysses in her poem , 'The glorious island where Ulysses was the king'.

In February 1920 Stanisław Bułak-Bałachowicz contacted Józef Piłsudski through the Polish envoy to Riga and proposed to ally his unit with the Polish Army against the Bolshevist Russia. As the fame of the general preceded him, Piłsudski agreed and soon afterwards Bułak- Bałachowicz with some 800 cavalrymen set off for yet another of his great odysseys. After leaving Estonia, they outflanked the Red Russian lines and rode several hundred kilometres behind the enemy lines to Latvia, where they were allowed to pass through Latvian territory. Finally by mid-March they reached Dyneburg (now Daugavpils, then under Polish military administration), where they were greeted as heroes by Józef Piłsudski himself.

Producer Thomas Böcker in 2010 Thomas Böcker first began producing orchestral concerts of video game music in 2003 with the first Symphonic Game Music Concert in Leipzig, Germany. In 2008, he, through his production company Merregnon Studios, began a series of four concerts of video game music that used longer, more elaborate arrangements of themes from the individual pieces of music from the games. This Symphonic series of concerts stood in contrast to the more standard concerts, which played straightforward orchestral versions of individual songs. The four concerts were Symphonic Shades – Hülsbeck in Concert (2008), Symphonic Fantasies: Music from Square Enix (2009), Symphonic Legends – Music from Nintendo (2010), and Symphonic Odysseys: Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu (2011).

The Symphonic Odysseys concert received varied reviews, with praise given the performance and choice of source material, and both praise and criticism given to the quality of the arrangements. Audun Sorlie of Original Sound Version stated that it was "the greatest live music event I have ever attended," and said that the standing ovation at the end was "the longest[...] I've been part of". Original Sound Version named the concert as the best of the year for 2011 in their year-end awards. In his review of the album for the site, Jayson Napolitano said that the arrangements for the concert were "top notch", and brought attention to works by the composers which were typically overlooked.
Having corresponded with enthusiasts in the field such as Brian Lumley, Ramsey Campbell, Glenn Lord, W.H. Pugmire and Gregory Nicoll, he began (aged 13) to write fiction and speculative poetry in the vein of Lovecraft and C.A. Smith. Fictional juvenilia included "The Last Town" (a Lord Dunsany pastiche), "The Sacrifice" (based on an image of death from Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal, and an uncompleted sword-and-sorcery novel, Starbreaker (with Ashley Morris). A few of these juvenile tales were first printed in Charles Danny Lovecraft's fanzine Avatar in the 1990s. His earliest in-print appearances included Lovecraftian sonnets in R. Alain Everts' magazines The Arkham Sampler (new series) and Etchings and Odysseys.
XOXO Tabletop brought the creators of eight independently produced tabletop games to show their work, including Rosenstrasse, Root: The Underworld, Mechanica, Wavelength, 1001 Odysseys, Reigns: The Council, and a preview playtest of Twogether Studio's upcoming The Adventure Zone tabletop game. Jeri Ellsworth also demonstrated Tilt Five, prototype glasses for playing holographic games using augmented reality. The XOXO closing party had two parallel events: a preview listening party of an early version of Neil Cicierega's then- unannounced mashup album Mouth Dreams (which released just over a year later), as well as karaoke in the outside tent, with appearances from several speakers and performers, including Lindsay Ellis, Demi Adejuyigbe, Open Mike Eagle, and Left at London.
Odyssey is currently NASA's longest serving spacecraft at Mars and has been orbiting Mars since October 2001. Odysseys primary purpose is to map the mineralogy of martian surface but is also used to assess potential landing sites for rovers and landers. Odyssey consists of three instruments for measuring the surface of Mars; a Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS), a Gamma Ray Spectrometer (GRS), and Mars Radiation Environment Experiment (MARIE). MARIE was damaged in 2003, most likely by a solar particle, and GRS is not in use after Odyssey changed its orbit in 2008 to increase THEMIS sensitivity. In addition to the onboard spectrometers, Odyssey serves as a communication relay between Earth and the rovers and landers on Mars’ surface.
Jeremy Crawford said that the options would "better reflect the story you have in mind for the characters". Much of the information in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything was developed through the public “Unearthed Arcana” playtest – of the playtest subclasses, Crawford said "almost every single one made it into the game". The book will also include a "de-Eberroned" version of the artificer class and its subclasses, and reprint several subclasses that were previously published in other supplements for specific campaign settings: the Order Domain Cleric and Circle of Spores Druid from Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica, College of Eloquence Bard and Oath of Glory Paladin from Mythic Odysseys of Theros, and the Bladesinging Wizard from Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide.
In the early and mid-1980s there were bands like Black Rose, Stretch, Razor, Lynx, Pentagon, Montreaux, Unchained and Osiris. Then came the new breed of South African metal with a band called Ragnärok, South Africa's first thrash metal band, formed by Dean G Smith who were labelled as South Africa's Metallica and the only metal band at that time to have a cult following. They formed in South Johannesburg in 1986 playing covers for a short while and then moving on to original music only. Through the late 1980s and into the early 1990s, South Africa grew a well supported metal scene, marked by the release of Johannesburg-based Odysseys' self-titled album in 1991.
Some suggest that other music from Thespis could have been used in Pirates. Goldberg suggests that "It is reasonable to believe that Sullivan made generous use of his Thespis music in other operettas: perhaps owing to the circumstances under which The Pirates of Penzance was written, it contains more than one unacknowledged borrowing from the unlucky firstling of the lucky pair." Reginald Allen says that "it seems certain" from its "rhythmic structure" that part of the Act I finale of Thespis, "Here's a pretty tale for future Iliads and Odysseys" became the original Act II finale in Pirates, "At length we are provided with unusual felicity", which was later deleted.Allen (First Night), p.
This was remarkably successful, went into numerous reprints, and was followed up by two further anthologies: More Penguin Science Fiction (1963) and Yet More Penguin Science Fiction (1964). The later anthologies enjoyed the same success as the first, and all three were eventually published together as The Penguin Science Fiction Omnibus (1973), which also went into a number of reprints. In the 1970s, he produced several large collections of classic grand-scale science fiction, under the titles Space Opera (1974), Space Odysseys (1975), Galactic Empires (1976), Evil Earths (1976), and Perilous Planets (1978). Around this time, he edited a large-format volume Science Fiction Art (1975), with selections of artwork from the magazines and pulps.

Critic Shawn Ramsey suggests that Abigail Prinn, the villain of "The Salem Horror", might have been intended by Kuttner to be a descendant of Ludvig Prinn, author of De Vermis Mysteriis—a book that appears in Kuttner's "The Invaders".Ramsey, p. 122. Etchings and Odysseys No 4 (1984), edited by Eric A. Carlson, John J. Koblas and R. Alain Everts, was a special Kuttner tribute issue featuring three reprinted tales by Kuttner - "It Walks By Night", "The Frog" and "The Invaders," together with various essays on Kuttner, and an interview with his wife and fellow writer C.L. Moore. Crypt of Cthulhu 5, No 7 (whole number 41) (Lammas 1986), edited by Robert M. Price, was a special Henry Kuttner issue collecting eight Cthulhu Mythos stories by Kuttner.
Starting in 2016, James Wyatt, a "longtime Wizards employee who worked on D&D; for over a decade before moving over to Magic in 2014", began to write a series of free PDF releases called Plane Shift where various Magic: The Gathering planes were adapted for Dungeons & Dragons. The positive response to the "Plane Shift" articles lead to the publication of Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica (2018), the first full hardcover Dungeons & Dragons guide to the Magic setting, and the success of that sourcebook lead to the publication of Mythic Odysseys of Theros. Wyatt and F. Wesley Schneider were the lead designers on the book. The new sourcebook was announced on March 2, 2020 after being leaked through an Amazon product listing.
A number of legends exist about Blue Hole, such that it is bottomless with powerful currents, that the water is freezing cold year-round, and that the Jersey Devil is active in the area. Jersey Odysseys: Legend of the Blue Hole is a short horror film directed and written by James Rolfe. It was originally supposed to be the pilot episode for a web series based on urban legends and myths of New Jersey, but James became more involved with his Angry Video Game Nerd web series when it became popular, and he did not have the time to shoot any more new episodes. However, he claims that he still wants to revisit the series and produce more episodes someday.
Both Symphonic Fantasies and Symphonic Odysseys featured music from the Final Fantasy series composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Böcker has said that he considers Uematsu to be "the most famous composer of video game music and in general one of the most influential", and that Uematsu's 20020220 - Music from Final Fantasy concert in 2002 was a big influence on his own concerts. In May 2012, Böcker announced that he was working on a concert of music solely from the Final Fantasy series, to be titled Final Symphony. The idea for the concert was first proposed by Uematsu in 2009 after Symphonic Fantasies; the concert had featured Final Fantasy music as one of its four components, but unlike the other three the music had been a straightforward medley rather than a more complicated arrangement.

MIKROVION, by Constantine Koukias a Tasmanian composer and opera director of Greek ancestry based in Amsterdam, where he is known by his Greek name of Konstantin Koukias. This opera is described by Maria Shevtsova as "an epic opera about AIDS".Shevtsova, Maria 1996, "Greek Australian Odysseys in a Multicultural World", A Journal of Performance and Art, January 1996, vol 18 no. 1 The three-hour opera is in five parts and its 1994 premiere in Hobart, Tasmania, featured 16 principal performers, 7 musicians, 20 men and women in the vocal choruses, a semaphore chorus of 11 high school students as "the voice of God", a creative team of 11 and a production team of 24. Described by one writer as a "microscopic epic",Gallasch, Keith 1994, "Microscopic Epic", RealTime vol.
Böcker and the arrangers intended the arrangements in the concert to be "about telling the stories of the games". In order to "capture the atmosphere of the games", they limited the concert to three games from the series, so as not to spread the concert too thin. They chose the games to be Final Fantasy VI, VII, and X, not only because they liked the music in the games but because they felt previous concerts, including to an extent Symphonic Fantasies and Odysseys, had failed to evoke the feeling of the games due to focusing on the battle music in an unbalanced manner. In an interview Böcker used Final Fantasy VII as an example, stating that only part of "the game's dark, romantic, melancholic, and hopeful story" was being portrayed by solely orchestrating the battle music from the game.
Wanamo was concerned about doing another piano concerto, as Merregnon had done one based on the Final Fantasy series for Symphonic Odysseys and Final Symphony, but felt that the soundtrack of Final Fantasy IX was diverse enough to support another. The third section, from Final Fantasy VIII, was also arranged by Wanamo, and is named "Mono no aware" after the Japanese term for the "awareness of impermanence". The name is intended to capture a theme from the game of the conflict between childhood and adulthood, as well as the destruction of the present in favor of an uncertain future. The arrangement roughly follows the games storyline, fading away in the end like the game with uncertainty as to the conclusion of the characters' themes; Wanamo has said that the arrangement was difficult to create due to the similar emotional themes in many of the songs.
The music of Final Fantasy I and II has also appeared in various official concerts and live albums, such as 20020220 music from FINAL FANTASY, a live recording of an orchestra performing music from the series including several pieces from the games. Additionally, several pieces from the games were performed as part of a medley by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra for the Distant Worlds - Music from Final Fantasy concert tour, while a different medley of tunes from the two games were performed by the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in the Tour de Japon: Music from Final Fantasy concert series. "Main Theme" from Final Fantasy I was performed at the Press Start -Symphony of Games- 2006 concert in Tokyo. A concerto suite of music from Final Fantasy I was performed on July 9, 2011 at the Symphonic Odysseys concert, which commemorated the music of Uematsu.
The largest civil penalty under the Clean Air Act was $11.1 million paid by Louisiana- Pacific lumber and paper company. Also in 1996, Ford reached a consent decree to spend $7.9 million to address a defeat device on 60,000 1997 model year Econoline vans which used a "sophisticated electronic control strategy designed to enhance fuel economy", disabling NOx emissions controls while the vans were driven at highway speeds, a circumstance not occurring during lab testing to verify emissions control compliance.
Summary of Mars Odyssey mission start Animation of 2001 Mars Odysseys trajectory around Sun Animation of 2001 Mars Odyssey trajectory around Mars from October 24, 2001 to October 24, 2002 Mars Odyssey as imaged by Mars Global Surveyor Mars Odyssey launched from Cape Canaveral on April 7, 2001, and arrived at Mars about 200 days later on October 24. The spacecraft's main engine fired in order to decelerate, which allowed it to be captured into orbit around Mars. Odyssey then spent about three months aerobraking, using aerodynamic drag from the upper reaches of the Martian atmosphere to gradually slow down and reduce and circularize its orbit. By using the atmosphere of Mars to slow the spacecraft in its orbit rather than firing its engine or thrusters, Odyssey was able to save more than 200 kilograms (440 lb) of propellant. This reduction in spacecraft weight allowed the mission to be launched on a Delta II 7925 launch vehicle, rather than a larger, more expensive launcher. Aerobraking ended in January 2002, and Odyssey began its science mapping mission on February 19, 2002.
