Balboa Park and the surrounding areas in 2018 Balboa Park is a neighborhood and public park in San Francisco, California. It was created in 1909, and parts of it were built over time. The neighborhood (sometimes referred to as Mission Terrace, Cayuga, or Ingleside) is located between Mission Street and Interstate 280 north of Geneva Avenue, and the park is located on San Jose Avenue, north of Ocean Avenue. The mall features 135 stores, a large food court, and several restaurants and is 1.6 million square feet, the second-largest in New England by retail space. The mall has four parking garages and used to feature unique architecture such as wood paneling, wooden benches, a dome with purple lights, a box-spiral staircase with holes that leads to the Café Square level, and a stone-shafted elevator.

At West Portal station, inbound L Taraval trains become outbound K Ingleside trains. The line follows West Portal Avenue to Saint Francis Circle, where it then runs on its own right-of-way in the median of Junipero Serra Boulevard to Ocean Avenue. The K then follows Ocean Avenue until it reaches Balboa Park station, where it circles around the Metro yard at San Jose and Geneva Avenue, with the actual terminal stop alongside the station. Upon the invasion of the Netherlands by the Germans in May 1940, Parsons joined a network of resistance composed of people from diverse walks of life: farmers, teachers, businesspeople. Like the famous Corrie ten Boom, Parsons sheltered downed Allied airmen in her home, "Ingleside", near Laren. At the beginning of the German occupation, Parsons dismissed her servants so that their quarters on the top floor of Ingleside could be used to accommodate Allied airmen. A hiding place, behind the closet in the master bedroom, was available as a temporary emergency shelter for the airmen if her home was searched by the Nazis.

At this time, the remainder of the state highway was under proposal between Eldorado and Galena. By 1923, portions of the state highway were completed to the south of Federalsburg, between north of Ingleside and south of Sudlersville, and from north of Sudlersville to west of Massey. MD 313 was designated in 1927 to run from US 213 in Eldorado north to US 213 in Galena. The route headed north from Eldorado to Federalsburg, where it continued northwest to Williston, northeast to Denton, north to Goldsboro, northwest to Ingleside, north to Massey, and northwest to Galena.

Ocean Avenue/CCSF Pedestrian Bridge is a light rail stop on the Muni Metro K Ingleside line, located between the Sunnyside and Ingleside neighborhoods of San Francisco, California adjacent to the San Francisco City College (CCSF) campus. William Joseph Stratton (January 28, 1886 - May 8, 1938) was an American politician. Born in Ingleside, Illinois, Stratton was a farmer and an Illinois state game warden. Illinois Governor William Stratton was his son. He served as a township supervisor and was a Republican.

Defendants have attempted to use Miller's language or ideas in courts of the United States and Canada. These attempts have been uniformly unsuccessful. In 1926, Carozza mortgaged his Ingleside estate to Rowe and again to Addison E. Mullikin. The same year, Rowe's son killed his father with a crowbar, stabbed his sister, pushed his mother into a fire, and was found dead in the Severn River soon afterward.

The Mona Vale onion orchid grows is only known from a single disturbed site at the type location near Ingleside. The site was previously used as a soil dump and as a parking area for work vehicles. It is possible that the orchid has germinated in the imported soil.

Gupton is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, North Carolina. Gupton is located about 8 miles East-northeast of Ingleside off North Carolina Highway 561. Laurel Mill and Col. Jordan Jones House, Dr. Samuel Perry House, and Speed Farm are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Rocky Ford is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, North Carolina, United States. Located at an elevation of 397 feet or 121 m, it is west- northwest of the neighboring unincorporated community of Ingleside. Jones- Wright House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

At probate, his estate was valued at £44,085. Denhams in Brisbane went into voluntary liquidation but the companies in Maryborough and Rockhampton continued. His residence Ingleside is heritage-listed and is located at 391 Annerley Road, Annerley, close to the intersection of Denham Street, presumably named after him.

Ingleside is a historic home located near Rodophil, and unincorporated community in Amelia County, Virginia. The main section was built about 1824, and is a -story, single-pile frame building. It has a two-story, single-pile frame addition added about 1840. The house is in a late Federal style.

This entire route was cancelled on March 28, 1952, when US 90A was assigned upon the majority of the route, with the remaining section transferred to TX 97. The second route was designated on February 24, 1988, from Ingleside, TX south to the Corpus Christi Homeport. The route remains unbuilt.

Judge J. W. F. Allen House, also known as "Ingleside," is a historic home located at Moorefield, Hardy County, West Virginia. It was built in 1842, and is a two-story brick dwelling in the Greek Revival style. It features eight foot high windows. The interior features a semi-circular staircase.

Through the 1930s Carozza rented rooms in the mansion to different families. By the time Carozza died in June 1950, the estate was reduced to 230 acres. The Blind Beggar Ingleside burned down in 1953. "The Blind Beggar", an 1856 oil painting bought by Baker, once hung in the mansion.

On June 16, 1845, Imboden married Eliza "Dice" Allen McCue, who was a daughter of Colonel Franklin McCue. The Imbodens built a house in Staunton which they called the "Ingleside Cottage". They had four children, one died before reaching three years. On December 23, 1857, his wife of twelve years died.

Several towns and cities surround the Chain O'Lakes System. Although open to some interpretation, towns bordering the Chain O'Lakes include Fox Lake, Fox Lake Hills, Lake Villa, Antioch, Spring Grove, Pistakee Highlands, Johnsburg, Volo, McHenry and Ingleside. HMS Basilisk off Malta, circa 1915. The submarine fired torpedoes and at least one hit the civil vessel. Ingleside burst into flames and immediately began to sink. The merchant ship was manned by an unknown number of crew, some of whom were killed or wounded, and some went down with the ship.

The allied warships were coordinated and together dropped several well placed depth charges on the fleeing enemy submarine until a slight oil slick began to emerge. If the submarine was U38 it did not sink. Ingleside was its last victim but U38 survived to be handed over to the French in February 1919.

The San Francisco home owned by Poole and his wife, located at 90 Cedro Avenue in the Ingleside Terraces neighborhood of the city, was designated a San Francisco Designated Landmark on May 22, 2000. John Avalos is an American politician. He was member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing District 11. The district consists of the Crocker-Amazon, Excelsior, Ingleside, Oceanview, and Outer Mission districts. Avalos was elected on November 4, 2008 in the 2008 San Francisco election and took office on January 8, 2009.

Santa Cruz is an underwater ghost town in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of Ontario's Lost Villages, which were permanently flooded by the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. Families and businesses in Santa Cruz were moved to the new town of Ingleside before the seaway construction commenced.

The line originally ran from St. Francis Circle station along West Portal Avenue, through the tunnel, along Market Street to Van Ness Avenue (joining the J Church at Church Street), and along existing tracks on Van Ness Avenue to Pine Street. On June 1, 1918, the J and K lines were removed from Van Ness Avenue and extended along Market Street to a loop at the Ferry Building. The existing URR streetcar service on Ocean Avenue formed a barrier to continued Muni expansion into the Ingleside district. On November 25, 1918, the city and the private URR signed the "Parkside Agreements", which allowed Muni streetcars to use URR trackage on Ocean Avenue as far as Harold Avenue, as well as on Taraval Street, in exchange for a cash payment and shared maintenance costs. The K Ingleside line was extended south on Junipero Serra Boulevard and east on Ocean Avenue to Miramar Avenue on February 21, 1919.

The station was completed when the Station accepted its Headquarters Building on December 14, 1990. The USS Scout became the first ship based at Ingleside on June 25, 1992, and the station was placed in an "operation" status on July 6, 1992, during the same ceremony that marked the Station's first change of command. Naval Station Ingleside was originally constructed to accommodate a battle group, with a massive 1,100 ft pier, additional berthing space provided along two quay walls, and a heavy-weather mooring system designed to withstand category 2 hurricanes. That Battle Group was initially meant to comprise the training aircraft carrier USS Lexington, the battleship USS Wisconsin, and their surface action group, however changes in the Navy's force structure caused these ships to be decommissioned.

San Jose and Mount Vernon is a light rail stop on the Muni Metro M Ocean View line, located in the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The inbound platform is located on a bridge over I-280. The station opened with the extension of the line to Balboa Park station on August 30, 1980.

It had a lasting impact on the health of his wife, partially crippling her. She also began to suffer from dementia and gradually grew weaker and weaker. On May 15, 2008, Funkhouser shot his wife dead, before turning the gun on himself in the underground garage of their retirement home in Ingleside, Washington, D.C.

Oakvale is located at (37.332163, -80.968802). The town is situated in a narrow valley along East River, a few miles west of the state line between Virginia and West Virginia. West Virginia Route 112 (Ingleside Road) traverses Oakvale, connecting the town with Bluefield to the southwest. U.S. Route 460 passes just north of the town.

Ingleside is a historic house at 500 Mica Road in Henry County, Virginia, north of Ridgeway. It is a two-story wood frame house with a mix of Greek and Gothic Revival features. It has a basically square shape, with three bays divided by vertical boards that resemble pilasters. Its gables are adorned with Gothic scalloped vergeboard.

By the end of September 1921, SR 6 was extended westward to the Alabama state line. SR 12's western terminus was shifted east-northeast to Ingleside, while its eastern terminus was truncated to end in Augusta. By October 1926, US 78 was designated on SR 8 from Austell to Avondale and on SR 12 from Thomson to Augusta.

In an attempt to attract more young people to Ingleside Presbyterian Church, Roland Gordon sought to reach young African Americans through imagery. The church has a collection of paintings and pictures that depict predominately African American subjects from history. Gordon refers to it as the Great Cloud of Witnesses. These pictures and painting cover the church's interior.

No K or L service enters the tunnel: K Ingleside and L Taraval service are interlined, running between Wawona and 46th Avenue station and Balboa Park station. M Ocean View and T Third Street services are interlined, running between Sunnydale station and Balboa Park station; it runs in the tunnel along with increased S Shuttle service.

Ingleside is a historic home located at Alexandria Bay in Jefferson County, New York. It is a large frame and stone residence built about 1900 in an eclectic Shingle style. It is a -story summer home. Also on the property is an icehouse, combined boathouse / guesthouse, private island, square gazebo, terraced pool, and pumphouse with observation deck.

The dining room accommodated up to 100 people. The society continued to live peacefully in Ingleside for several years. They provided for themselves from what came to be known as the "Spirit Fruit Farm", opened the farm and temple to visitors, and produced a newsletter. Beilhart continued to speak to groups in Chicago promoting the ideals of the society.

KAJE (107.3 MHz, "107.3 The Bull") is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Ingleside, Texas. The station serves the Corpus Christi metropolitan area with a country music radio format. The station is currently owned by John Bushman through licensee ICA Radio, Ltd. FCC.gov/KAJE The station carries the syndicated "Big D and Bubba" morning show based in Nashville.

The survivors waited for rescue on deck of their sinking ship or in the water. Ingleside went down, and by 17:35 the protecting allied warships spotted the submarine. According to post-war accounts, either USS Lydonia or HMS Basilisk rammed the U-boat when it began to submerge and flee. A running battle ensued for fifteen minutes.

He is also seen as taking after Gilbert's father, John, in personality. Shirley was named for Anne's maiden name. Bertha Marilla "Rilla" Blythe: The youngest of the Ingleside children, Rilla is named after Anne's birth mother Bertha and her adoptive "mother" Marilla. She was born a roly-poly plump baby, and remained so until she was seven.

Six oil refineries and 1,500 wells are located near the bay as well as a large supply of natural gas. In 1987 alone, $277 million of oil and gas were produced in the area. Metals, stone products, glass, chemicals, and gypsum products are also produced near the bay. Ingleside originally focused its economy on agriculture, notably viticulture.

On the property by the lake, the society's members hand-built a concrete-block home that they called the "Spirit Fruit Temple". The 2½-story residence had 32 rooms, a full basement, and modern (for the time) conveniences. The dining room accommodated up to 100 people. The society continued to live peacefully in Ingleside for several years.

With Lyndhurst, Tarrytown, and Ingleside, Dobbs Ferry, it is one of only three mid-nineteenth century survivors along the intensely redeveloped lower Hudson.Zukowsky 1979:79-80. His Dodge heirs donated it in 1961 as a conference center for Teachers College, Columbia University, who used it until the 1970s, then sold it to Zen Buddhist Community, who sold it again.

Miramar was the terminus of the line until May 18, 1919, when it was extended east on Ocean Avenue and south on Brighton Avenue to Grafton Avenue. The crew worked well with the divers, and claimed a few victories with its Mine Neutralization Vehicle, performing the first live activation of a Mission Package One cutter arm since USS Pioneer gained its permanent crew, bringing a moored mine safely to the surface and completing the neutralization and recovery. Pioneer then began her journey back to homeport, stopping again in NAB Little Creek, Virginia and briefly in Key West, Florida en route to Mobile, Alabama--the last stop before returning to Ingleside. In Mobile Pioneer was once again greeted by the warm southern hospitality for the members of the Mobile Navy League and the people of Mobile as a whole. Pioneer bid Mobile a fond farewell as she traveled to Ingleside, Texas returning on 15 December 2000.

At Ocean Avenue, the K Ingleside line of the San Francisco Municipal Railway enters the median, remaining there until the boulevard ends several blocks later at St. Francis Circle. At this five-way intersection, Sloat Boulevard heads west, St. Francis Boulevard east, Portola Drive northeast, and West Portal Avenue north-northeast, taking the rail line to the Twin Peaks Tunnel.

Microtis angusii, commonly known as the Mona Vale onion orchid, and Angus's onion orchid is a species of orchid endemic to New South Wales. It has a single hollow, onion-like leaf and up to sixty small, crowded green flowers. It is only known from a single population near Ingleside where it grows in soil that may have been imported from elsewhere.

Ingleside was bounded on the east by the shores of Lake Miccosukee and would have been bound on the west by Blake's mother's Blakely Plantation. Today, the land is County Road 59 (Veterans Memorial Drive). Ingleside's northern boundary would now be Cypress Landing Road and to the south it would have bounded by the streets of Leland Circle and Indigo Lane.

Ingleside is a historic house located near Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina. It was built about 1817, and is a two-story, five bay by three bay, Federal style brick mansion. The front facade features a pedimented portico supported by four Ionic order stuccoed brick columns. It was built by Congressman Daniel Munroe Forney, son of Congressman Peter Forney.

Avenger was the longest-serving ship from all of the coalition forces during the Shield/Storm conflict, as well as the first ship in the history of naval warfare to locate and neutralize bottom mines. Avenger was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation and Combat Action Ribbon for her wartime accomplishments. In 1993, Avenger shifted homeports to the newly constructed Naval Station Ingleside, Texas.

St. Francis Circle is a light rail stop on the Muni Metro K Ingleside and M Ocean View lines, located in the St. Francis Wood neighborhood of San Francisco, California. It opened around 1907 when the United Railroads (URR) expanded its Ocean Avenue line west to Ocean Beach; Muni service followed with the K in 1918 and the M in 1925.

Leah Belle Kepner initially lived in Iowa and Illinois, and then moved to California in 1914 and lived at 10 Corona Street, Ingleside Terraces, San Francisco, California. In 1905 Leah Belle Kepner married Leroy Porter Boyce (died in 1943). They had one son: Robert William. Boyce died on April 5, 1960, and is buried at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma.

Freight trains use all the tracks. During rush hours, out-of-service Metra trains bypass the station on their way to the Elburn rail yard. No in service trains bypass the station with the exception of the 5:04 service from Ogilvie station. LaFox is one of three Metra stations named after an unincorporated area along with Ingleside and Prairie View.

Denham died on 10 May 1944 at Annerley, survived by his wife and children. His family declined a state funeral and on 12 May a private funeral service commenced at his home Ingleside at 391 Annerley Road, Annerley followed by his burial in the nearby South Brisbane Cemetery.Denham, Digby Frank – Brisbane City Council Grave Location Search. He returned to the United States and retired to Wytheville, Virginia. During his retirement, he comprised his personal autobiography, Memoirs of an Octogenarian. He was a distant relative of figures such as George Washington and Robert E. Lee, as well as a direct descendant of Nicolas Martiau, founder of Yorktown, Virginia. Withers died at the "Ingleside" plantation in Wytheville on September 21, 1907.

Main street of Farran's Point, Ontario in 1914. Farran's Point is an underwater ghost town in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of Ontario's Lost Villages, which were permanently flooded by the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. Families and businesses in Farran's Point were moved to the new town of Ingleside before the seaway construction commenced.

John D. Ferguson, a Christian preacher, and Ferguson was a member of the First Christian church of Paducah. He resided in Paducah about five years, but moved back to his old home. He was a member of the Ingleside lodge of Odd Fellows, and of the Paducah lodge of Elks. He is buried at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, two miles from La Center.

While in Springfield, Baird was recruited to become the president of Ingleside College in Palmyra, Missouri, where she began work in 1873. She hired an ex-slave, Sina Banks as her cook. Banks would remain with her for the next thirty years. The business manager of the college was Homer T. Baird, with whom Baird would marry on April 25, 1875.

Benard N. Baker Bernard N. Baker (1854-1918) was a prominent businessman, who became one of the wealthiest men in Baltimore in later life. He was a trustee of the Johns Hopkins University, who funded research. In 1877 Baker married Elizabeth Elton Livzey. In 1889 Baker incorporated the Atlantic Transport Line in London, and chose to start construction of the Ingleside Mansion.

On 16 April, the German U-boat UB-70—under Kapitänleutnant Johannes Remy—left her home port in Germany for the Mediterranean Sea at the end of World War I. Her mission was to conduct unrestricted submarine warfare operations against allied supply lanes, primarily against Italian merchantmen. Little is known about the disappearance of UB-70 except that she may have been in operation against an allied supply convoy somewhere near Algiers, Algeria. At about 17:00 on 8 May 1918, the American armed yacht —under Richard P. McCullough—and the British destroyer HMS Basilisk were steaming and protecting a convoy from Bizerte to Gibraltar when they encountered UB-70, lining up for a shot at the British merchant ship SS Ingleside. It is however possible that the submarine involved was U-38, which has been credited with the sinking of Ingleside.

When the San Marcos Hotel was built in 1913, Arizona had two other winter resorts in operation: the Castle Hot Springs (Arizona) Hotel and the Ingleside Inn. The Castle Hot Springs hotel was outside of the Salt River Valley and therefore inaccessible to the broader tourist and the Ingleside Inn was a private club and though these hotels were in operation, the San Marcos Hotel was designed as a luxurious winter resort for the wealthy. The hotel served as the prototype of the southwestern winter resort with little competition until the late 1920s when the Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Arizona, Jokake Inn, the Biltmore, and the Camelback in Phoenix, Arizona were built. Dr. Chandler's foresight in resort development and planning in the Arizona desert, provided the Salt River Valley a potential for growth at the time statehood was granted.

Once the pilots left Parsons' home, they were transported to Leiden, where fishing boats took them to rendezvous with British submarines for their return to England. The number of Allied pilots she saved is unknown. The last airmen to hide at Ingleside remained for an unprecedented six days in September 1941. The network had been infiltrated, and contacts were unable to move the airmen as previously planned.

Immediate evacuation of Rockport and Live Oak and Lamar Peninsulas was advised in the evening of September 19. These areas and the towns of Ingleside and Aransas Pass were nearly completely evacuated. About 50 persons remained in Rockport. The evacuation of the University of Corpus Christi was advised on the morning of September 20, and Corpus Christi Beach and parts of Flour Bluff were also evacuated.

From 1832 to 1840, he worked as a clerk and merchant in New York City, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Ohio. He served as the editor of the Western Farmer and Gardener in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1840 to 1842. He acquired Ingleside Farm in Washington, Mississippi, where he established Central Nurseries in 1848. It became one of the earliest commercial plant nurseries in the Southern United States.

Baker was an Anglophile who supposedly knew England almost as well as he knew Maryland. He married Elizabeth Livezey in 1877 and the couple had two daughters, of whom Marguerite Harrison had an adventure-filled life as a journalist, moviemaker, and spy. In 1889, Baker built a 49-room Georgian mansion "Ingleside" in Catonsville. In 1916 Baker married Rosalie Barry and fathered a third daughter.

SR 305 begins in McMinn County in downtown Athens at an intersection with SR 30 and SR 39. It goes north through neighborhoods along Ingleside Avenue to have an intersection with US 11/SR 2. The highway then turns northwest to leave Athens and have an interchange with I-75 at exit 52. It continues northwest through farmland and rural areas to cross into Meigs County.

Bayview is a suburb in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 31 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Bayview is a hilly suburb, bounded by Broken Bay to the north; Mona Vale to the east and south; and Church Point, Kuringai Chase and Ingleside to the west.

Land of Providence is a open space reservation located in the Ingleside neighborhood of Holyoke, Massachusetts, on the banks of the Connecticut River. The property was previously owned by the Sisters of Providence. In 2009 it was donated to The Trustees of Reservations and is now used for farming by the local organization Nuestras Raices, which allows local residents farm the land and raise livestock.

Robinson did not have to appear in trial for fraud, because he died in a takeoff crash his twin engine aircraft from Baltimore. In 1954, they built the Ingleside Shopping center, from onsite offices, The Investment Corporation of Maryland purchased and developed the J Frank Gwynn farm in what would eventually become Columbia Maryland. In 1956, Berman started land development, building the Laurel Shopping Center.

It includes the suburbs or localities of Avalon, Bayview, Bilgola, Church Point, Cottage Point, Duffys Forest, Elanora Heights, Ingleside, Ku-ring-gai Chase, Mona Vale, Narrabeen, Newport, North Narrabeen, Palm Beach, Scotland Island, Terrey Hills, and Warriewood. The current Member of Parliament for Pittwater is Rob Stokes of the Liberal Party. He was first elected at the 2007 state election, defeating Independent Alex McTaggart.

The Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) is an art museum located in Grand Rapids, Michigan with collections ranging from Renaissance to Modern Art and special collections on 19th and 20th-century European and American art. Its holdings include notable modern art works such as Richard Diebenkorn’s 1963 Ingleside. The museum has in its collection 5,000 works of art, including over 3,500 prints, drawings and photographs.

Prior to the Civil War Miccosukee had three cotton plantations nearby, Miccosukee Plantation, Ingleside Plantation and Blakely Plantation. After the Civil War, the area reverted to farms and by 1887, the Florida Central Railroad served Miccosukee. During the 1890s, wealthy industrialists bought large tracts of land for quail hunting plantations or estates removing thousands of acres of land from agricultural production. Miccosukee thrived until the boll weevil infestation of 1918.

He moved to Alabama in 1834 and settled in Lowndes County where he resumed agricultural pursuits and became interested in various business enterprises. Forney died in Lowndes County on October 15, 1847, and was interred in the family burying ground there. He was the uncle of William Henry Forney. His home in Lincoln County, North Carolina, Ingleside built about 1817, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Finally, Anne, Gilbert, Jem and their new housekeeper, Susan Baker, move to the old Morgan house in the Glen, later to be named Ingleside. Anne is greatly saddened to leave the House of Dreams, but knows that the little house is outgrown and Gilbert's work as a doctor requires him to live closer to town. This book introduces Susan Baker, the elderly spinster who is the Blythes' maid-of-all-work.

Levering Road continues easterly leaving town south of Sherett Lake. East of the intersection with Ingleside Road, C-66 crosses into Cheboygan County. The roadway curves to the northeast before returning to a due eastward course north of Munro Lake along the Hebron–Munro township line.. The landscape changes to include more farm fields once road passes the lake. C-66 intersects I-75 at exit 326 along the latter.

KY 358 travels through Ragland and then intersects the northern terminus of KY 1563 (Ingleside Road). It crosses over Newtons Creek and then intersects the northern terminus of KY 1564 (Joppa Landing Road). The highway crosses over Nasty Creek and intersects the northern terminus of KY 725 (New Liberty Church Road). It curves to a nearly due east direction and intersects the northern terminus of KY 1321 (Rossington Road).

Continuing north, it goes through the communities of Pilot and Sutton, before reaching NC 98, in Bunn. Traveling northwesterly for , it enters Louisburg city limits and soon connects with US 401/NC 56 at Bickett Boulevard. Through Louisburg, NC 56/NC 581 splits at Nash Street towards Rocky Mount and NC 561 splits at Justice Street towards Centerville. North of Louisburg, in the Ingleside community, US 401 splits towards Warrenton.

After Rilla had gone back to Ingleside that night, Una swore that she would not let love enter her life again. Anne's youngest son, Shirley, comes of age and immediately joins the flying corps. Susan was deeply touched when Shirley called Susan "Mother Susan" before he went. Jerry Meredith is wounded at Vimy Ridge, and in early May 1918, Jem is reported wounded and missing following a trench raid.

The $2 million shopping center on was developed by Berman Enterprises LP and opened on November 14, 1956, with 30 stores."Laurel Shopping Center to Open," The Washington Post and Times Herald, Nov 7, 1956, p. C15. The developers also developed the Ingleside Shopping Center near Baltimore, Maryland. On April 24, 1964, the Hecht Company opened an store, its sixth location in the Washington, D.C., area, at the center.

In the weeks and months leading up to the inundation, families and businesses in the affected communities were moved to the new planned communities of Long Sault and Ingleside. These negotiations were controversial, however, as many residents of the communities felt that market value compensation was insufficient since the Seaway plan had already depressed property values in the region."Our own Three Gorges". During the 2000 census, it had 14,827 residents. For transportation on the bay, steamboats were commonplace between Corpus Christi and Ingleside during the 1930s. Native Americans used a route made up of a series of shallow oyster beds, dubbed Reef Road.

Following a brief port visit to Tampa, Florida, the ship returned to Ingleside, Texas to complete preparations for another mine warfare exercise (GOMEX 2000). Pioneer participated in the exercise off the coast of Corpus Christi, Texas and the ship and crew's performance was outstanding. With precision and polish, they led the way for mine countermeasures. Members of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 3's Detachment 15 aided Pioneer in this task.

SH 365 was designated on February 24, 1988, as a route from SH 361 in Ingleside to SH 35 at Aransas Pass. On October 13, 1988, the route was cancelled and became an extension of SH 363. SH 365 was designated on April 29, 2010, but only from FM 1016 to FM 3072. On July 26, 2012, SH 365 was extended south to US 281, completing the proposed routing.

In 1905, Beilhart purchased near Ingleside, Illinois, along Wooster Lake, a tract known as the Dalziel Farm. About a dozen established members of the Spirit Fruit Society moved with Beilhart to Illinois, along with a few new members. Over the next two years the society built a spacious house and later a large barn entirely by hand. They were better received by their Illinois neighbors than they had been in Lisbon.

The first automobile race in California was held at the track in 1900. Out of the eight vehicles, only the winner reached the finish line; all of the other contestants had either crashed or had engine problems. By 1905, Thomas Williams had taken over the racing business in the Bay Area, soon adding Ingleside Racetrack to his collection. However, before the track could be reopened, the 1906 earthquake and fires hit.

Priscilla Baird (1828-1904) was a pioneering teacher in Missouri and Illinois and an advocate for girls' education. She began her career in Shelbyville, Missouri in 1851. She then taught at Liberty Female College and Lancaster schools before relocating to Illinois during the civil war and teaching at the Springfield High School. Returning to Missouri, she taught at Ingleside College in Palmyra, Missouri and at Hardin College in Mexico, Missouri.

Muni bought the Market Street Railway (ex-URR) in 1944; route 12 service was removed from Ocean Avenue on April 8, 1945, leaving just the K Ingleside. On April 21, every other outbound K car was extended on Ocean Avenue and Onondaga Street to Mission Street, providing a direct connection to route . On January 21, 1951, the crosstown route replaced streetcars on the K and L lines on evenings and holidays.

The line was temporarily through-routed with the surface section of the K Ingleside line from June 25 to August 24, 2018 due to the Twin Peaks Tunnel shutdown. On March 30, 2020, Muni Metro service was replaced with buses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rail service returned on August 22, 2020, with the routes reconfigured to improve reliability in the subway. J Church service runs only on the surface.

At the same time, buses replaced service west of Sunset Boulevard to allow for construction. The forced transfer at West Portal was criticized by disability advocates.

State Route 45 (SR 45) was a short-lived state highway in the north-central part of the state. It was established at least as early as 1919 on a path from SR 8 and SR 13 in Lawrenceville, south-southeast to Loganville, east-southeast to SR 11 in Monroe, and east-northeast to SR 15 in Watkinsville. By the end of 1921, the Lawrenceville–Loganville segment was redesignated as a southern extension of SR 13, the western terminus was extended west-southwest to what was known as "Ingleside" (now known as Avondale Estates), and the eastern terminus was shifted to the northwest to end at SR 8 west-southwest of Athens. By the end of 1926, the segment from Ingleside (now labeled as "Avondale") to Loganville and the segment from Monroe to the Athens area were redesignated as US 78/SR 10, while the Loganville–Monroe segment was also redesignated as US 78 and SR 13 (and possibly SR 10).

Banks retired on December 31, 1976 and the following year moved with his wife to California where their daughter lived with her family. He died of kidney and heart failure in an Ingleside, California hospital in 1986, and was buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery. The Virginia NAACP honored Banks at its conference celebrating Brown's 59th anniversary, shortly before his death, and in 1992 posthumously awarded him its Civil Rights Emancipation Emeritus Award.

Notable buildings include Scott Hall (1778, 1921), Alicia Hopkins House (1830), Harmon House (c. 1825), Holly House (1860), Ingleside (1880s), Dr. Lewis Harmanson House (1899), Harbor Breeze (1912), First National Bank (1894, 1899, 1921), Roseland Theatre (c. 1940), Market Street Methodist Church (1882), Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church (1895), the Charles E. Cassell designed Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (1882), Onancock Town Hall (c. 1930), Onancock High School (1921), and Onancock Post Office (1936).

MWCC maintains components of the Containment System in a ready state at two shore base locations along the U.S. Gulf Coast and conducts drills and training sessions on a regular basis to ensure personnel and equipment are ready to respond. TechnipFMC and Kiewitt Offshore Services (KOS) are MWCC's two main contractors. TechnipFMC manages and operates the subsea containment system at SURF shore base in Theodore, Alabama. KOS operates the MCV shore base at Ingleside, Texas.

The Lost Villages, ten ghost towns which were flooded by the construction of the Saint Lawrence Seaway in 1958, were located in the former Cornwall and Osnabruck Townships. The communities of Long Sault and Ingleside were newly built to accommodate displaced residents of the flooded villages. Due to this relocation, the towns were entirely planned from their inception - a rarity in Ontario. Several streets in the two communities are named for the flooded settlements.

It was extended to its own terminal at Brighton and Grafton three months later; only the 12 ran east of Brighton Avenue on Ocean Avenue. The city purchased the private company (renamed Market Street Railway in 1921) in 1944. On April 8, 1945, route 12 service was removed from Ocean Avenue, while the K Ingleside was extended on Ocean Avenue and Onondaga Street to Mission Street to provide a direction connection to route .

In 2008, Mirkarimi supported a controversial resolution by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors asking the state to drop charges against the San Francisco 8, eight professed members of the Black Liberation Army arrested for their involvement in the 1971 murder of Sgt. John V. Young at San Francisco's Ingleside Police station. The charges had been dismissed by the judge who discovered that their confessions had been extracted under torture.San Francisco Chronicle.

Randolph and Arch is a light rail stop on the Muni Metro M Ocean View line, located in the Ingleside Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The stop opened with the line on October 6, 1925. The line was replaced with buses on August 6, 1939, but streetcar service resumed on December 17, 1944. The station has two sidewalk extensions which serve as side platforms, with a mini-high platform on each for accessibility.

Three of Evansville's most iconic buildings - the Old Post Office from the 1870s, Willard Library from the 1880s, and the Old Courthouse from the 1890s - are monuments from those active decades. Thanks to its geographic placement on the river, and an abundance of nearby natural resources, Evansville was well positioned for economic growth. Coal mines began operating near Evansville in the 1850s with the digging of the Ingleside Mine on Coal Mine (now Reitz) Hill.

Wales is a ghost town in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of Ontario's Lost Villages, which were permanently flooded by the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. The town was named for the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) who visited the area during his Canadian tour of 1860. Families and businesses in Wales were moved to the new town of Ingleside before the seaway construction commenced.

Industry toward Ingleside Corpus Christi Bay is a natural harbor, and its port has contributed to the growth of the main port city of Corpus Christi. Corpus Christi is the 5th largest port in the United States, and the deepest on the Gulf of Mexico. The channel to the Gulf was dredged through the bay to the jetties at Port Aransas. Freight exchanged at the port include seafood, industrial and agricultural goods and petroleum.

The new County Jail 5 replaced the 1934 San Bruno Jail, which had been designated County Jail 3. Before its closure in 2006, the old San Bruno jail was the oldest operating county jail west of the Mississippi River. When opened in 1934, it replaced the outdated Ingleside jails, which dated from the late 1800s, and were located on the site of today's City College of San Francisco. The 1934 building was demolished in 2012.

Since severe damage occurred to her boiler plant the Navy made the decision at that time to decommission rather than repair the ship. Inchon was decommissioned, 20 June 2002, at NS Ingleside, Texas. Inchon was laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register 24 May 2004 and sunk on 5 December 2004 at , in 2,150 fathoms (3.9 km) of water, east of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

KKPN, known as "Planet 102.3", is a Top 40 radio station serving the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Area in the state of Texas. The station's musical format includes a balance of hip hop, rock music, and pop music in rotation. Its studios are located along South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi, and the transmitter is in Ingleside, Texas. Planet 102.3 also airs The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show from Clear Channel's 106.1 KHKS in Dallas, Texas.

Thomas conveyed The Cottage to his second son, Charles, at the time of his marriage to Mary Mullikin in 1846. Charles Clagett produced tobacco, livestock and wool until after the Civil War when he gave up tobacco and focused on livestock production. In addition to farming, Charles Clagett served for twenty years as a judge of the County Orphans Court. Around 1880, the Ingleside and Navajo farms were set aside for two of Charles' sons on the adjoining property.

He went on to rebuild the congregation and transformed it into one of the strongest African American churches in San Francisco. In late 2016, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors named Ingleside Presbyterian Church a historic landmark. As of 2017 the number of parishioners was fewer than 60. Congregants for Sunday sermon remain predominately African American, but that participants in the church's outreach programs such as its food bank and elderly self-help program are approximately 90% Asian.

An elevator on the north side of Geneva Avenue connects to the south paid area and the platform. A Muni Metro rail yard, the Curtis E. Green Light Rail Center, takes up the rest of the block. The east half is occupied by a maintenance building and the west half by open storage tracks, with an administrative building at the south end. Muni J Church and K Ingleside trains loop around the outer edge of the yard.

West Portal is located at the southern edge of the hills in central San Francisco. The neighborhood is named for the western terminus of the Muni tunnel beneath Twin Peaks that opened in 1918. The ride in the subway from West Portal Station to Castro Station is about seven minutes. By the West Portal Station, the L Taraval goes west along Ulloa Street, and the K Ingleside and the M Oceanview go south along West Portal Avenue.

Broad and Orizaba (inbound) and Orizaba and Broad (outbound) are a pair of one-way light rail stops on the Muni Metro M Ocean View line, located in the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The stops opened with the line on October 6, 1925. The line was replaced with buses on August 6, 1939, but streetcar service resumed on December 17, 1944. There are no platforms at the stops; passengers must wait on the sidewalk.

San Francisco State University is part of the California State University system and is located near Lake Merced. The school has approximately 30,000 students and awards undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in more than 100 disciplines. The City College of San Francisco, with its main facility in the Ingleside district, is one of the largest two-year community colleges in the country. It has an enrollment of about 100,000 students and offers an extensive continuing education program.

Ring Oak originally was the land of antebellum cotton plantations Blakely Plantation and Ingleside Plantation. Prior to it having a name, this property began as a venture sometimes referred to as the Ireland-Ingalls ownership. This was a joint business/leisure concern between David S. Ingalls and Robert Livingston Ireland, Jr. Ingalls was a director of Pan Am World Airways and publisher of Cincinnati Times-Star. Ireland was an executive with M.A. Hanna Company, a coal company.

Ingleside station is little more than an enclosed shelter. Parking is available along the north side of the tracks on the southeast corner of Jefferson Avenue and Rollins Road to a plot of land that is in line with Madison Avenue, a street that dead ends north of Rollins Road. Washington Street merely intersects with Rollins Road and the main parking lot entrance. The station is near locations such as Duck Lake and Fox Lake Veterans Memorial Park.

The Mission Bay Loop is complete, at a cost of $10.2 million. This will allow easier short turns on the line and better service to Chase Center. The Third Street Light Rail Project is the first part of a multi-phase plan to expand the Muni Metro system. The second phase, known as the Central Subway, will take T Third off the tracks it shares with K Ingleside and N Judah north of 4th and King.

The Hartford store was sold in 1962, leaving just the Springfield and Holyoke locations as traditional downtown department stores. Mall outlets were opened in the Longmeadow Shops (1961), Springfield Plaza (1964), Friendly Shops at Westfield, Massachusetts (1965), Eastfield Mall (1967), Enfield Square Mall (1972), Hampshire Mall in Hadley, Massachusetts (1978), and Holyoke Mall at Ingleside (1979).

The Blythes Are Quoted is a book completed by L. M. Montgomery (1874–1942) near the end of her life but not published in its entirety until 2009. It is her eleventh book to feature Anne Shirley Blythe, who first appears in her first and best-known novel, Anne of Green Gables (1908), and then in Anne of Avonlea (1909), Chronicles of Avonlea (1912), Anne of the Island (1915), Anne's House of Dreams (1917), Rainbow Valley (1919), Further Chronicles of Avonlea (1920), Rilla of Ingleside (1921), Anne of Windy Poplars (1936), and Anne of Ingleside (1939). It consists of an experimental blend of fifteen short stories, forty-one poems, and numerous vignettes featuring Anne and members of her family discussing her poetry. The book focuses on small-town life in Glen St. Mary, Prince Edward Island, and is divided into two halves: one preceding the events of the First World War of 1914–1918 and one relating incidents after the war, up to and including the beginning of the Second World War of 1939–1945.

Big Hollow School District 38 is a school district in Grant Township, Lake County, Illinois. The district includes parts of the villages of Fox Lake, Lakemoor, Round Lake, and Volo. Shows boundary and locations of old Big Hollow School, Edmond Taveirne Middle School, and new Big Hollow School. Since 2007, it has had a single campus, at the corner of Fish Lake and Nippersink roads in Ingleside, with three schools: Big Hollow Primary School, Big Hollow Elementary School, and Big Hollow Middle School.

Illinois 59 is called Fox Lake Road in Fox Lake Hills, Grand Avenue in portions of Ingleside and eastern Fox Lake, Sutton Road from South Barrington to Bartlett, Neltnor Boulevard in West Chicago, Hough Street in Barrington, and Brook Forest Avenue and Cottage Street in Shorewood. Illinois 59 overlaps U.S. Route 12 (Rand Road) between Wauconda and Fox Lake. In almost every town or village spanning Route 59, retail development and residential sprawl can be found.

No other emblem or flag is known to have been used. The Village of Flushing included the neighborhoods of Flushing Highlands, Bowne Park, Murray Hill, Ingleside, and Flushing Park. Major Hartwick's clubs were: the Detroit Athletic Club, the Ingleside Club, Detroit Golf Club, Bankers' Club of Detroit, Fellowcraft Athletic Club, and the Detroit Automobile Club. He held membership with the National Association of Real Estate Exchanges, Detroit Real Estate Board, Detroit Board of Commerce, Detroit Real Estate Exchange, Exchange Club, Detroit Y. M. C. A., American National Red Cross, Detroit Retail Lumber Dealers' Association, Milwaukee Junction Manufacturers' Association, and was president and director of the Michigan State Retailers' Lumber Association.

The US Post Office—Holyoke Main is a historic post office building at 650 Dwight Street in Holyoke, Massachusetts. It opened in 1935, as a replacement for an earlier post office location at 31 Main Street, and is a distinctive local example of Art Deco architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The building is one of two post office locations serving the city, with a second in Ingleside at the Holyoke Mall.

In the 1960s, BART decided to use the Ocean View Branch right-of-way for part of a rapid transit system. The San Francisco portion of BART, including Balboa Park station, opened on November 5, 1973. Both streetcar facilities were replaced by modern yards in the 1970s and 1980s. Muni Metro service to the Balboa Park complex began with the K Ingleside line in 1979, followed by the M Ocean View line in 1980 and the J Church line in 1991.

Naval Station Ingleside was first authorized in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987 sponsored by Sen. Barry Goldwater. Groundbreaking took place on February 20, 1988 and on April 9, 1990, the Station and the community dedicated the main thoroughfare providing access from the community to the Station, Hayden W. Head Boulevard. In September 1990, enough construction had been completed that personnel moved from temporary office and working spaces in the community onto the station and the waterfront was dedicated.

Most stores typically resemble older buildings (Colonial, Victorian, or even Old English barn styles (such as in Sagamore and Pembroke, Massachusetts; and Warwick, Rhode Island). Some, such as the Lynnfield, Massachusetts store, are even more conceptualized; it is known for its lighthouse and fishing village motif. Christmas Tree Shops also has several stores in enclosed shopping malls, such as inside the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside in Massachusetts, Colonie Center in Albany, New York, and Salmon Run Mall in Watertown, New York.

Advertisement in Atlanta Constitution, June 24, 1917, p.14A In 1924, he purchased the town of Ingleside, Georgia, just east of Decatur and there built the new planned community of Avondale Estates, Georgia. The distinctive Tudor Revival architecture of the town was inspired by a recent trip that he and his wife had taken to Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Willis sought input from internationally known city planners; Avondale Estates was the first documented planned city in the Southeastern United States.

The port of Algiers along the Mediterranean, circa 1920. After assuming they had sunk the enemy U-boat, Lydonia and Basilisk proceeded hastily to the wreck of Ingleside. The British and American vessels rescued some survivors and took them to a friendly port, probably Algiers. At first the incident was listed as an inconclusive contact, but after the war the authorities realized that UB-70 had not been heard from for months, and the American and British vessels received honors for their victory.

Will and Grace Robinson were hired by Dr. Chandler as exterior and interior managers, respectively, after having worked at the Ingleside Inn in Phoenix for five years. Mrs. Robinson was credited as the San Marcos' hostess and Mr. Robinson supervised the construction of the hotel's original golf course. Mr. Robinson's study of Native Americans in the United States informed and was reflected by the hotel's decorative scheme. Many artifacts from his personal collection, in fact, were placed throughout the hotel.

When Haywood died in Raleigh in 1827, "a great procession was given in his honor and his funeral was conducted in the Presbyterian Church by Reverend Doctor McPheeters". The legislature elected his son, John S. Haywood, to succeed him as treasurer, but the son declined the office, as the magnitude of his father's malfeasance was becoming clear. From 1797 to 1809, Haywood owned Locust Grove plantation at Ingleside, North Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Historic marker for William Byrd's camp on his expedition to survey the Dividing Line, Henry County, Virginia, 1728 Approximately three miles south of Ridgeway in Henry County on U.S. Route 220 is a Virginia State historic marker noting the passing of the surveying party of William Byrd II, who moved through the area in 1728 on his expedition to survey the dividing line between Virginia and North Carolina. Belleview and Ingleside are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The highway's northern terminus is the intersection with SH 35 and Spur 202 at Gregory in San Patricio County. The route runs southeast through Ingleside, where it intersects Farm to Market Road 1069, then turns northeast to Aransas Pass. Here the route leaves the Texas mainland and crosses several bridges as it runs in a southeasterly direction through Stedman Island and Harbor Island. The highway is known as Port Aransas Causeway and Cemetery Road for this part of the route.

Fireplace mantles were hand carved. Several tenant houses and a formal garden were built on the property. A world traveler, Baker described Ingleside as his only true home. In April 1918, the Bakers turned the mansion over to Company C of the food production committee of the women's section of the Maryland defense council to support the war efforts. Women farmers would tend crops for $1.20 a day, compared to the going rate of $2.00 a day for male labor.

Former street-level stop outside Twin Peaks Tunnel in 1967 Opening in 1918, the station originally was similar to a regular curbside stop at the entrance to the tunnel. But when streetcar system was partially converted to light rail in the late 1970s, the existing underground metro station was built in its place. On July 18, 2009, the West Portal station was the scene of a collision between a K Ingleside train and a L Taraval train. An estimated 44 people were injured.

Between 1899 and 1915, the city of San Francisco built an "automobile boulevard" from the end of the existing Corbett Avenue (now Portola Drive) at Ocean Avenue south past the Ingleside Race Track to the county line, where it continued to School Street in Daly City (then part of Colma). At the north end, it connected with Parkside Boulevard (now Sloat Boulevard) and Dewey Boulevard. The city Board of Supervisors named the new boulevard after Junípero Serra in 1908. By 1949, the route was moved to a straight alignment bypassing Ingleside to the east, with the former routing becoming an extended MD 19 and St. Paul Road. In 1950, MD 313 was rerouted to bypass Greensboro to the east. The former alignment through Greensboro became an extended MD 314 along Sunset Avenue and an extended MD 480 along Main Street. Construction on the modern alignment of MD 313 between Federalsburg and Andersontown began by 1950; MD 322 was assigned to the new highway by 1952.

The San Francisco Residence Parks are located in the western neighborhoods of San Francisco. The first of the master-planned residence parks to be built on the West side of the city was Presidio Terrace in 1905. This was followed by St. Francis Wood, Sea Cliff, Lincoln Manor, West Clay Park, Forest Hill, Balboa Terrace, Ingleside Terraces, and Jordan Park. The master-planned residence parks in San Francisco were landscaped plots created to replicate the feeling of suburban living in close proximity to downtown San Francisco.

When the Market Street subway was built in the early 1970s, it was connected to the Twin Peaks Tunnel to be used by the K Ingleside, L Taraval and M Ocean View lines. These services were spared from conversion to trolleybus by virtue of their use of Twin Peaks Tunnel. The Eureka Valley station was closed and was functionally replaced by Castro Street Station. This combined subway line was the impetus for transitioning the system to light rail and served as the basis of Muni Metro.

The first is that of Annie Devlin, a former governess who died at the Annandale mansion in June 1860 and was purported to haunt it until the night it burned in 1924. The second is that of Helen Johnstone and her fiancé, Henry Grey Vick. Helen, the youngest daughter of John and Margaret, and Henry, descended from the founder of Vicksburg, met at her sister's home, Ingleside, in December 1855. They became engaged to be married in 1857, with the day set for May 21, 1859.

At the close of the book he has a vision of 'The Piper' on the hill, piping away, making young men follow him from around the world. This vision is fulfilled in the following book as World War One breaks out. Anne "Nan" Blythe: One of the Ingleside twins, Nan is "Blythe by name and blithe by nature", being a dainty little maiden with velvety nut-brown eyes and silky nut-brown hair. Her complexion is almost flawless, and she is well aware of this.

The Brighton Avenue trackage was retired and replaced with the new Phelan Loop on May 18, 1952; the alternate service to Mission Street was cut back to the loop on October 10, 1952. In the 1970s, Muni rebuilt the non-revenue trackage for regular service so that K Ingleside service could be extended to the new Balboa Park station. The first revenue service to Balboa Park was on April 23, 1979, although service past Phelan Loop did not run at all times until March 17, 1981.

Invited by a friend to visit Palm Springs, Haber stumbled upon the Ingleside Inn in 1975. The property, located at 200 Ramon Road, was in a state of disrepair thanks to an absentee owner. Haber learned the original owner was the widow of Humphrey Birge, manufacturer of the Pierce-Arrow motorcar. She built the private estate at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains in 1925 and sold it a decade later to Palm Springs Councilwoman Ruth Hardy, who transformed the place into a 20-room hotel.

WYML-LP is a low power community radio station, headquartered in Ingleside, Illinois and transmitting from Prairie Grove, Illinois. The station supports the eastern McHenry County and western Lake County areas, providing a mix of commercial and local music as well as community support for the businesses in the area. WYML-LP started as a youth educational project in 2005, growing to a streaming and then an FM station, providing opportunities for education by relationships with the local schools (grade schools, high schools, trade schools and colleges).

The buildings of the district have undergone a number of changes since the district was listed on the National Register in 1990. The buildings then had clapboard siding, with cut shingles on the skirts between the levels, but all have since had their exteriors reclad in modern siding. 218 Ingleside has had its upper two porches removed; these were previously similar to those of the other buildings, supported by groups of square columns. The district originally included three period garages, of which only one is still standing.

Four tornadoes struck the Midwest over a two-day period. On October 8, an F3 tornado struck Oxford, Missouri, killing two and injuring seven. A long-tracked F2 tornado then tore an 81-mile path of destruction through Davis, Harrison, Roscoe, Hunter, Chemung, Harvard, Greenwood, Ringwood, Pistakke Highlands, Fox Lake, Ingleside Shore, Round Lake Heights, Round Lake Beach, Venetian Village, Grandwood Park, Gurnee and Northwestern Waukegan, Illinois, killing one. The next day in Wisconsin, a brief, but strong F2 tornado caused mainly tree damage west of Burkhardt.

However, in 1905, Murphy was able to secure new investors from New Jersey and Michigan.Al-Jaff, Mohamed Amin. Murphy built the Ingleside Club, complete with a golf course, near the Arizona Canal and the town of Scottsdale with the intention of attracting investors and potential landowners to what became known as the Salt River Valley.

Fourteen local routes (two only at certain times), one rapid route, and four Owl routes run as electric trolleybuses. Muni service operates out of ten yards and garages: one cable car barn, three light rail / streetcar yards, two trolleybus garages, and four bus garages. Routes have two-part names like "1 California" and "K Ingleside", where the second portion is usually a street served by the route (or in some cases, a neighborhood or landmark). Light rail and streetcar lines are lettered, while bus routes are numbered.

North of Springfield, the U.S. Westover Air Force Base is located in the resurgent, former industrial city of Chicopee. The City of Chicopee features the confluence of the fast-moving Chicopee River and the meandering Connecticut River. The Chicopee River, although only 18.0 miles long, has the largest water basin in Massachusetts—and along the Connecticut River—at 741 square miles. Across from Chicopee, on the west side of the Connecticut River, the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside is one of the largest malls in New England.

Rev. Ammons was ordained, both deacon and elder, in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (1947 and 1949), pastoring churches of that denomination in Chicago and in Highland Falls, New York. Edsel was a Social Case Worker for the Department of Welfare of Cook County, Illinois (1951–56). In 1957, under the influence of Bishop Charles Wesley Brashares, Rev. Ammons transferred into the Rock River Annual Conference of the Methodist Church, and was appointed to the Whitfield Methodist Church in Chicago (which became the Ingleside-Whitfield Methodist Parish).

According to the district's website, the school district has been in operation since 1836. Around 1850 a 4th of an acre on the corner of what now is U.S. Route 12 and Illinois Route 134 in Ingleside near the village of Fox Lake was donated by Mr. William B. D for a school in the big geographical hollow. They put up a log cabin with the desks fastened to the wall, with the teachers desk in the middle of the room. The building was heated by a wood stove and had few books.

French Toast released 2 full-length albums In A Cave and Ingleside Terrace on Dischord Records. French Toast toured the US, Canada, and Europe as a headliner as well as opening for bands such as Sleater Kinney, Modest Mouse, Wilco and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. In 2008, Busher played dates with Funk Ark, a DC funk band with a horn section[3] as well as singers Federico Aubele and Alfonso Velez. In October 2013, Busher joined the Washington, DC-based glam/progressive-rock band Deathfix, replacing Devin Ocampo as drummer.

The Ocean Avenue campus, bordering the Sunnyside, Westwood Park and Ingleside neighborhoods, is the college's largest location. The college has other campuses in South San Francisco, Financial District, Little Saigon, South of Market, Bayview-Hunters Point, Marina District, North of Panhandle, and Mission District. CCSF offers courses in more than 50 academic programs and over 100 occupational disciplines. There is a wide selection of credit courses that lead to an associate degree, which can be used to meet the general education requirements for transfer to four-year institutions.

Lydonia spent the early months of 1918 protecting Allied Mediterranean supply convoys from attacks by Imperial German Navy submarines (U-boats). She made two attacks on enemy submarines in February 1918 but did not sink them. On 8 May 1918, Lydonia was steaming with a convoy from Bizerte, Tunisia, to Gibraltar when the German submarine UB-70 torpedoed and sank one of the convoy's ships, the British merchant ship SS Ingleside. Lydonia joined the British Royal Navy destroyer in counterattacking UB-70 beginning at 17:35, with the two ships making coordinated depth charge attacks.

After 15 minutes, Lydonia and Basilisk ceased their attack and turned their attention to rescuing the survivors of Ingleside. Heavy seas prevented an immediate assessment of possible damage to UB-70, but later evaluations credited Lydonia and Basilisk with sinking the submarine. For the rest of the war, Lydonia continued her escort operations between Bizerte and Gibraltar. After the conclusion of the war on 11 November 1918, she called at the Azores and Caribbean ports on her way back to the United States, where she arrived at Hampton Roads, Virginia, on 6 February 1919.

Muni Metro station in the background The southern segment of 19th Avenue begins as a northern continuation of St. Charles Avenue, a dead end street south of Randolph Street near the Ingleside neighborhood of San Francisco. 19th Avenue then proceeds northwest to Junipero Serra Boulevard. After crossing Junipero Serra, it heads north, passing San Francisco State University and Stonestown Galleria to Sloat Boulevard. The street then runs through the Sunset District to the southern edge of Golden Gate Park, where it then continues inside the park as Crossover Drive.

To construct the dam 6,500 people in Eastern Ontario were dislocated, some farmers but predominantly the residents of six villages and three hamlets, known as The Lost Villages, before the land was flooded. The residents were given market value for their land, though there are claims it was unfair because the land prices were believed to have already been depressed due to the anticipated submergence; some residents were forcibly removed. Most were relocated to homes in new communities called South Stormont (Long Sault) or Ingleside and Iroquois. In 2008, Ontario Hydro made an official apology.

Sydney Baháʼí Temple The Baháʼí Faith first arrived in Australia in 1922, and at less than 0.1% of the total population, is one of the smaller religious minorities. The Sydney Baháʼí Temple is situated in Ingleside, a northern suburb of Sydney. According to Jennifer Taylor, a historian at Sydney University, it is among Sydney's four most significant religious buildings constructed in the twentieth century. Dedicated in 1961, it was also the world's fourth Baháʼí House of Worship to be completed. The 1996 Australian Census lists Baháʼí membership at just under 9,000.

The Ingleside Resort is no longer in operation. During World War II it was used by the INS as a detention center for enemy aliens held under Executive Order 9066. Some of the hotels that are no longer in operation are The Virginia Hotel, the Eakleton Hotel, the Valley Hotel, the American Hotel and the Hotel Beverley. All of these buildings are still standing except for the Virginia Hotel, which was demolished in 1930 to make way for a planned addition to the Stonewall Jackson Hotel which was never built.

Australian Scout Museum is located at the Newington Armory in Sydney Olympic Park with workshops and storage at Belfield and Granville.Australian Scout Museum Museums and Galleries of NSW Water Activities Centre – The Water Activities Centre at Woolwich opened in 1973. It provides general experiences in canoeing, sailing and power boating and qualification courses including NSW Boat Licenses. Several other centres are run by the Regions, such as Camp Ku-Ring-Gai Activity Centre, Ingleside Scout Camp, Camp Kurrajong, Camps Coutts, J. Harold Kaye Training Centre and Bundilla Scout Training Centre.

In September 2016, Muni began construction of its section of the project—a longer high-level deboarding platform to replace the mini-high platform on the west side of the yard. This work was coordinated with rail replacement in the yard and widening the pedestrian walkway to San Jose Avenue. The J Church line was rerouted onto San Jose Avenue, while the K Ingleside was cut back to City College Pedestrian Bridge. The K was returned to the loop on May 20, 2017, while the J remained on San Jose Avenue until November 18.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service acquired the entire island between 1962 and 1967, preserving the land for wildlife. This purchase was largely in response to concerns over the development made by the local community.Kent County, Maryland Parks and Recreation The sole house built for the Cape Chester subdivision now houses park personnel. The Kent County Department of Parks and Recreation operates the Ingleside Recreation Area, under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, from May 1 to September 30, with facilities for crabbing and car-top boat launching.

McCampbell–Porter Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport in San Patricio County, Texas, United States. It is located two nautical miles (4 km) north of the central business district of Ingleside, Texas. Formerly known as T. P. McCampbell Airport, it is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned TFP by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

The western terminus is at U.S. Route 19 east of Bluefield, in the shadow of a "bridge to nowhere"Charles Owens, Robert C. Byrd's vision of a grand 'King Coal Highway' must be fulfilled (editorial), Bluefield Daily Telegraph, December 18, 2013 on the future King Coal Highway. The eastern terminus is at U.S. Route 460 in Oakvale. WV 112 was formerly a portion of WV 12.

Since that time she deployed to the Eastern Atlantic in 1993 and 1995, Mediterranean Sea in 1997 and 1999. In 2001 Avenger deployed to the Eastern Pacific via the Panama Canal and conducted Joint, Combined, and Bilateral exercises and operations on the West Coast. Late in 2001, Avenger conducted test operations of a revolutionary jam-resistant electronic navigation system. In 2004, the Avenger deployed to participate in the Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC), and in October of that year the ship returned to her homeport of Ingleside, Texas.

Ice break-up on tracks at Westfield, 1936In 1869 the European and North American Railway Western Extension was opened through the area between Saint John and Vanceboro, Maine. The rail line changed ownership to the New Brunswick Railway before becoming part of the Canadian Pacific Railway mainline from Saint John to Montreal in the 1880s. CPR established several stations through the area (Grand Bay, Pamdenec, Epworth Park, Ingleside, Ononette, Hillandale, Westfield Beach, Lingley, Sagwa, and Nerepis). The rail line was sold in 1995 and is now operated as the New Brunswick Southern Railway.

Route 177 is the town's main road, called River Valley Drive in the Grand Bay section of town and Nerepis Road in the Westfield part. Other main streets are Woolastook Drive, which winds through the highlands of Grand Bay, and Inglewood Drive is host to the Pamdenec, Epworth Park, Brandy Point & Ingleside subdivisions on Grand Bay's shore front. Also, NB Route 102 which begins north of Fredericton ends in Westfield. Highway 7, the main route from Saint John to Fredericton, passes through the western extremity of the town.

In 1957 he founded the Smoky Dawson Ranch on farm at Ingleside as a venue to host country music shows, a horse riding school and a holiday camp for children. In 1974 a TV series, Luke's Kingdom, was shot at Dawson's ranch. The following year he featured on This Is Your Life hosted by Mike Willesee. In 1988 he appeared in two episodes of TV soap opera, A Country Practice, as a drifter, "Charlie McKeahnie", who passes through the fictional location of Wandin Valley and proposes to town gossip, "Esme Watson" (portrayed by Joyce Jacobs).

Woodlands is an underwater ghost town in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of Ontario's Lost Villages, which were permanently flooded by the creation of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. The village was founded in 1784 by German-speaking Loyalists from New York it had a population of about 70 people and was known, in the 1950s, for the cottages that lined the road adjacent to the then bank of the St Lawrence River. Families and businesses in Woodlands were moved to the new town of Ingleside before the seaway construction commenced.

Oceanview is a neighborhood in the southern portion of San Francisco, California. It was first established as a community in the 1910s and originally centered on the intersection of Sagamore Street and San Jose Avenue. Today, the neighborhood is bordered by Orizaba Avenue to the west, Lakeview Avenue to the north, and Interstate 280 to the south and east. Ingleside and the Ocean Avenue campus of City College lay north of Oceanview; Cayuga Terrace is to the east; Daly City, California, and the Outer Mission are south; and Merced Heights is to the west.

The Spirit Fruit Society was a communitarian group in the United States that was organized after a period of repeated business depressions during the 1890s. The society had its beginnings in Lisbon, Ohio and, over the years of its existence moved to Ingleside, Illinois and, finally, to California. Plagued by rumor, suspicion, and attacks in the press during its early years, the group remained active until 1930. Although it never numbered more than a handful of adherents, the Spirit Fruit Society existed longer and more successfully than any other American utopian group.

Ingleside, Sydney, Australia The Baháʼí writings describe a single, personal, inaccessible, omniscient, omnipresent, imperishable, and almighty God who is the creator of all things in the universe. The existence of God and the universe is thought to be eternal, without a beginning or end. Though inaccessible directly, God is nevertheless seen as conscious of creation, with a will and purpose that is expressed through messengers termed Manifestations of God. Baháʼí teachings state that God is too great for humans to fully comprehend, or to create a complete and accurate image of by themselves.

On 1 March 1995, Inchon was re-classed as a mine countermeasures ship MCS-12 and commenced a 15-month conversion/overhaul by Ingalls Shipbuilding. In July 1996, Inchon changed homeports to Ingleside, Texas, home of the U.S. Navy's Mine Warfare Center of Excellence. Sustaining extended mine countermeasures operations at forward deployed locations required extensive command and control and logistics capabilities. Inchon provided both a landing platform for Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon mine-sweeping helicopters and repair and re- supply facility for Avenger-class mine countermeasures ships and Osprey-class coastal minehunters.

Leonard purchased the steamship Bella from the U.S. Navy for $250,000, forming the Bella Steamship company, telling the media he did not know what he would use it for. The Bella was scuttled on 18 June 1922 in San Salvador followed by an insurance claim. In 1926, Carozza mortgaged the Ingleside estate to his Carozza-Rowe business partner H.M. Rowe and again to Addison E. Mullikin. Rowe's son killed his father, stabbed his sister, pushed his mother into a fire, and was found dead in the Severn river soon afterward.

The line begins at Wawona and 46th Avenue station (near the San Francisco Zoo), which is on a one-way loop on Vicente Street, 47th Avenue, Wawona Street, and 46th Avenue. It runs north on 46th Avenue to Taraval Street, then runs east on Taraval Street to 15th Avenue. The line then runs south one block on 15th Avenue, then east on Ulloa Street to West Portal station where it is through-routed with the K Ingleside line. Most stops have no boarding islands; passengers board from the street.

Vincenti was taken by force in boat raid by revenue agents and taken back to Baltimore for trial before the British Colonial Government demand his return for capture in their territorial waters. In 1920, Whiskey was distributed to cooperative households throughout the Baltimore area like the A.T. Caroza Ingleside Mansion in Catonsville. Carozza, a road contractor bought a steamship from the Navy and sued the government to return his 500 case whiskey gift from Vincetti. After agents seized cases of Whiskey, a trial against the owners, drivers, salesmen, and holders of the Whisky in 1922.

In addition to Anne of Green Gables (1908), Anne is the central character of subsequent novels written by Montgomery: Anne of Avonlea (1909), Anne of the Island (1915), Anne's House of Dreams (1917), Anne of Windy Poplars (1936; UK title Anne of Windy Willows), and Anne of Ingleside (1939). Other books in the Anne series include Rainbow Valley (1919), which focuses on Anne's children during their childhood, and Rilla of Ingleside (1921), which focuses on Anne's youngest daughter during World War I. Anne also appears and is mentioned in Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea, though the bulk of the stories in these volumes are about other characters. In The Blythes Are Quoted (published in an abridged format as The Road to Yesterday and in a restored, unabridged edition in 2009), Anne is a peripheral character as a grandmother with several grandchildren, at least three of whom are preparing to enlist in the Canadian army during the opening days of World War II. These were among the last stories Montgomery wrote before her death in 1942. Anne Shirley also appears in Budge Wilson's Before Green Gables, a prequel to Anne of Green Gables authorized by the heirs of L.M. Montgomery.

The BART line through the city runs adjacent to the Outer Mission. As the tracks are above-ground, the trains are visible and audible throughout most of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is in walking distance to Balboa Park Station, which is one of the city's largest public transportation hubs, being served by BART, three Muni Metro lines (J-Church, K-Ingleside, M-Oceanview) and many bus lines (including some of the nightly Owl lines). The main bus line serving the Outer Mission is the 14 Mission: The bus line operates along the full length of Mission Street (from the Embarcadero to Daly City).

View north along MD 313 at MD 300 in Sudlersville MD 313 crosses Long Marsh Ditch into Queen Anne's County and continues north through more farmland, before intersecting the eastern terminus of MD 19 (Roberts Station Road) in Ingleside. The route proceeds north, with a traffic count of 2,270 vehicles at the Merrick Corner Road intersection, before reaching the town of Barclay. Here, the road passes residences and intersects MD 302 (Church Street). Past this intersection, the road crosses the Centreville Branch of the Northern Line of the Maryland and Delaware Railroad at-grade before leaving Barclay and heading back into agricultural areas.

The road that would eventually be designated as US 78 was established as part of SR 8 from the Alabama state line to Decatur, SR 45 a point west of Loganville to Monroe (and possibly just to the east of it), SR 10 from Athens to Washington, SR 17 from Washington to Thomson, and SR 12 from Thomson to Augusta. By the end of 1921, SR 45 was extended from Ingleside to just west of Loganville. It was also from Monroe to a point about Bogart. Also, SR 16 was designated from the Alabama state line to Carrollton.

A small craft warning was issued for the Corpus Christi area on the morning of the storm making landfall, and the National Weather Bureau issued a Hurricane Warning just 45 minutes prior to the hurricane striking land. Upon making landfall, the storm caused a 3.8-foot (1.2-m) storm tide, and many small boats were capsized or driven ashore. The hurricane produced wind gusts of up to in Ingleside and up to in Port Aransas, destroying cooling towers at a local oil refinery and damaging a few houses. Along its path, the storm produced heavy rainfall, though specifics are unknown.

Canterbury was founded in 1915 on the aspiration of two men: Henry O. Havemeyer, scion of a wealthy family which made its fortune in sugar refining, and Nelson Hume, a Catholic schoolmaster. They intended to establish a Roman Catholic school where young men could be guided in their religion and be prepared to attend Ivy League universities.Canterbury School: The First Ninety Years 1915-2005, compiled by Kathy Bolster (c) 2006 The school was established in New Milford, Connecticut, on the location of the former Ingleside School for Girls. Hume became the first headmaster of the school.

The construction of the Westward Ho was part of a concerted effort on the part of both civic and business organizations in the city to develop it as a tourist destination. Phoenix already had two highly rated resorts, the Ingleside Inn and the Jokake Inn, and after the Westward Ho, the Arizona Biltmore, designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's students, was constructed in 1929. Other major hotels were built during this era, such as the San Carlos (also in 1928), which led older hotels, like the Hotel Adams, to refurbish themselves in order to remain competitive.

A PCC streetcar on the K Ingleside route on Market Street in 1967 Market Street is a major transit artery for the city of San Francisco, and has carried in turn horse-drawn streetcars, cable cars and electric streetcars. In the 1960s construction began on the Market Street subway, which would carry BART's trains on its lower level. All streetcar lines currently operating in the subway previously ran on the surface of Market Street, and were eventually diverted into the upper level of the tunnel. This diversion, together with the provision of new light rail cars, resulted in today's Muni Metro system.

Truncated high-platforms at the station provide accessibility. The 1906 earthquake damaged many cable car and streetcar lines; in the aftermath, the United Railroads (URR) closed many cable cars lines and expanded the electric streetcar system. The URR resumed service on the Ocean Avenue (12) line on May 6, 1906; the line was soon extended to Ocean Beach via Junipero Serra Boulevard and Sloat Boulevard. The city-owned Twin Peaks Tunnel was opened on February 3, 1918, with the K Ingleside line running through the tunnel and terminating at St. Francis Circle to avoid crossing the existing private tracks.

On November 4, 2008, John Avalos won the election for San Francisco District 11 supervisor with 28.23% of the total votes in round one and 52.93% in round four, under the city's instant-runoff voting system. District 11 includes the Outer Mission, Excelsior, Oceanview, Merced Heights, Cayuga, and Ingleside neighborhoods. As chair of the Budget and Finance Committee in 2009 and 2010, John Avalos led the Board of Supervisors' effort to approve budgets, closing deficits of over $500 million. In January 2011, Avalos was appointed to serve as chair of the City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee.

The Long Sault Parkway runs from Long Sault to a point just east of Ingleside in Ontario. Constructed as a road connecting the islands in Lake St. Lawrence as part of Long Sault Provincial Park, it was built partly over a former alignment of Ontario Highway 2 which was flooded in 1958 as part of the St. Lawrence Seaway project. The parkway is free to access for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to enjoy throughout the summer. Access to the parkway is from the later alignment of Ontario Highway 2 (now a county road) at both endpoints.

Shaw designed a building resembling an English country house, with large open spaces and—on the second floor, facing the tennis courts—abundant natural light. In the summer of 1929, the old club house was moved (in two pieces) two blocks west to 956–960 East 58th Street, where it was renamed Ingleside Hall. The Quadrangle Club enjoyed a golden age during the 1920s and 1930s when it functioned as a popular gentleman's club offering billiards, a card room, and stimulating lunchtime conversation. The "Round Table", a lunchtime tradition in which professors from diverse fields gathered to share ideas, flourished.

The Sea-Based X-Band Radar underway The Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX-1) is a floating, self-propelled, mobile active electronically scanned array early- warning radar station designed to operate in high winds and heavy seas. It was developed as part of the Missile Defense Agency's Ballistic Missile Defense System. The radar is mounted on a fifth generation CS-50 twin-hulled semi- submersible oil platform. Conversion of the vessel was carried out at the AmFELS yard in Brownsville, Texas; the radar mount was built and mounted on the vessel at the Kiewit yard in Ingleside, Texas.

During the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway, a number of Canadian towns alongside the St. Lawrence River were flooded in a 20,000 acre planned flood to allow for the expansion of the St. Lawrence River. Several of those towns, including Aultsville, Farran's Point, Dickinson's Landing and Wales were planned to be eliminated and residents and structures were moved to two newly created towns named, Ingleside and Long Sault. Those towns are now referred to as the "Lost Villages". In addition to the relocation of buildings, the project called for movement of roads, and railroad tracks.

During the period, Oceanview and adjoining Ingleside Heights experienced some of San Francisco and the Bay Areas highest violent crime rates. Gunfire was frequently reported in the area, with a sizeable percentage of San Francisco's homicides occurring in Oceanview. One year, 12 homicides occurred on a single Oceanview intersection. Despite the neighborhood's high crime rates, local news media paid little attention to Oceanview compared to other lower-income dangerous high crime neighborhoods in San Francisco such as Bayview Hunters Point Historically, the bulk of the murders that occurred in Oceanview were killings connected to the once thriving local drug trade in the community.

At approximately 7:45 am PST on March 23, 2012, three people were found dead inside a row house with the address of 16 Howth Street, located in the Ingleside district of San Francisco, near City College of San Francisco. The bodies were discovered by a daughter and granddaughter of the elder slain couple. Police arrived and found two more bodies in the house's backyard. A neighbor said that she heard a "loud male person angry or yelling at around midnight" the night prior to the morning the bodies were found, but did not hear any gunshots.

I-77 enters West Virginia from Virginia via the East River Mountain Tunnel, running concurrently with U.S. Route 52 (US 52). It surfaces in Mercer County to the east of Bluefield as a four-lane freeway. I-77's first exit in West Virginia is north of the state line; US 52 leaves the highway here. I-77 then turns to the northeast and comes to a partial interchange with West Virginia Route 112 (WV 112) in Ingleside. Changing its course to a more northerly alignment, I-77 reaches another partial interchange serving County Route 27 (CR 27).

Since Corpus Christi Bay was too shallow for troop ships, these anchored at what's now Port Aransas and troops were ferried to the military camp on the city bayfront. On 13 September (some versions say 12 September) 1845 the steamboat Dayton left Corpus Christi heading toward St. Joseph's Island (AKA San José Island, north of Port Aransas). On board were Captain Crossman, Lieutenants Thaddeus Higgins, Benjamin A. Berry, Graham, and Woods of the Fourth Infantry, Lieutenant Gordon of the Third Infantry, a Dr. Crittenden, and several others. At about 12:30 PM near McGloin's Bluff, present day Ingleside, a boiler burst.

The J, N, and S were restored to their previous routes, while the T was interlined with the K Ingleside line. The revived shuttle ran on 10-minute headways using three trains. On October 4, 2013, Muni began a pilot of S Shuttle service, which included the first three-car train on Muni Metro since the 1990s. The three-car train and a two-car train ran between Embarcadero and St. Francis Circle station with only six morning round trips and one evening round trip; the last morning trips ran through to 23rd Street on their way to the Muni Metro East facility.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church Oak Grove is an unincorporated community in the Washington District of Westmoreland County, Virginia. The community, on the historic Northern Neck of Virginia (the peninsula between the Potomac and Rappahannock rivers), was a stagecoach stop in the early days of the Colony of Virginia It is close to the birthplaces of George Washington and James Monroe. The community also lies in a region of historic architecture, with notable buildings including Wirtland at Oak Grove, a Gothic Revival plantation house listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Ingleside, Roxbury, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Grand Crossing Park is a public park at 7655 S. Ingleside Avenue in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Opened in 1915, the park was planned by the South Park Commission, which was responsible for adding several parks in dense, poor South Side neighborhoods. While the South Park Commission designed the park and its facilities in-house, its designs were heavily influenced by the work of the Olmsted Brothers and D. H. Burnham and Company in its earlier parks. The park originally included a Beaux-Arts fieldhouse, a swimming pool, outdoor gymnasiums, a baseball field, tennis courts, and running and walking paths.

Other buildings located on the site include a visitor's centre, bookshop, picnic area, hostel, caretaker's cottage, and the administrative offices of the Australian Baháʼí community. The property is set high in a natural bushland setting of 380,000 square metres (38 hectares) in Ingleside, a northern suburb overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This Temple serves as the Mother Temple of Australia. Six conferences held in October 1967 around the world presented a viewing of a copy of the photograph of Baháʼu'lláh on the highly significant occasion commemorating the centenary of Baháʼu'lláh's writing of the Suriy-i-Mulúk (Tablet to the Kings), which Shoghi Effendi describes as "the most momentous Tablet revealed by Baháʼu'lláh".

The Outer Mission is a neighborhood in Southeast San Francisco with boundaries of Interstate 280 to the west, Geneva Avenue to the north, and Mission Street and the Daly City border to the south. Its surrounding neighborhoods include Ingleside to the west, Mission Terrace to the north, Excelsior to the northeast, Crocker-Amazon to the southeast, and Daly City to the southwest. The name Outer Mission often causes confusion, leading some to believe that Outer Mission is immediately south of Mission District (in reality, Bernal Heights is directly south of Mission). Some call any and all neighborhoods south of Mission the "Outer Mission area," which results in further confusion.

In 2004, Blue Marlin carried the world's largest semi-submersible oil platform, BP's , from the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard in South Korea to Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas. Many of the larger ships of this class are owned by the company Dockwise, including , Blue Marlin, and . In 2004, Dockwise increased the deck width of Blue Marlin, to make it the then-largest heavy transport carrier in the world until it was surpassed by the launch of in 2012. One of the company's vessels, Mighty Servant 2, capsized and sank after hitting an uncharted single underwater isolated pinnacle of granite off Indonesia in November 1999.

Muni and the contractor could not agree on a new schedule and costs to minimize disruptions to riders; the project duration increased from 460 days to 807 days and the cost to $48 million, and Muni staff recommended the contract be terminated. The SFMTA released a Request for Qualifications in October 2017, and bidding opened for the $35.5 million project in November. The closure began on June 25, 2018, and lasted until August 24. During the closure, Muni Metro was short turned at Castro station; the surface section of the K Ingleside was through-routed with the J Church, while the L Taraval and M Ocean View were replaced by buses.

The division is located in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney, adjacent to the Tasman Sea, south of Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River. The division includes the suburbs of Akuna Bay, Avalon Beach, Bayview, Belrose, Bilgola Beach, Bilgola Plateau, Careel Bay, Church Point, Clareville, Coasters Retreat, Collaroy, Collaroy Plateau, Cottage Point, Cromer, Davidson, Duffys Forest, Elanora Heights, Elvina Bay, Great Mackerel Beach, Ingleside, Lovett Bay, McCarrs Creek, Mona Vale, Morning Bay, Narrabeen, Newport, North Narrabeen, Oxford Falls, Palm Beach, Scotland Island, Terrey Hills, Towlers Bay, Warriewood, Whale Beach, and Wheeler Heights; as well as parts of Beacon Hill, Dee Why, Forestville, Frenchs Forest, and Narraweena.

Service was cut back to Phelan Loop to the west on October 10, 1952, although trackage as far as San Jose Avenue was kept for non-revenue moves to the carhouse. accessible In the 1970s, Muni rebuilt the non-revenue trackage for regular service so that K Ingleside service could be extended to the new Balboa Park station. The extension included a new intermediate stop just east of Geneva Avenue, serving the San Francisco City College campus. After two students from the nearby Lick-Wilmerding High School were injured by a speeding car that decade while trying to cross Ocean Avenue, a pedestrian bridge was constructed over Ocean Avenue.

Designed by the city's Department of Public Works, the reinforced concrete bridge built in 1978 is long and wide, with staircases on both sides leading to each Muni platform. The first revenue service to the station was on April 23, 1979, although service past Phelan Loop did not run at all times until March 17, 1981. In late 2016, the terminus of the K Ingleside line was temporarily relocated to Ocean and Phelan from Balboa Park while station improvements were being implemented at Balboa Park. The pedestrian bridge is unpopular with the community because it is poorly maintained, not accessible, and removes pedestrian activity from the street.

As mentioned earlier these earthquake shacks were built to house those still homeless after the earthquake and subsequent fires. Army Union carpenters built these shacks, and residents paid off the cost of construction at a rate of two dollars a month for twenty-five months. The camps mostly catered to persons who were unable to find any other accommodations away from the city or were "not capable of self support or who had no relatives to take care of them". The refugee camps at Golden Gate Park were primarily used as an interim location while the Ingleside horse stables were renovated to house human tenants.

After six months of failed attempts to convince the seller that they should be allowed to move in, the Adams broke into their own home and began the long- delayed process of moving in. Although racial restrictions were declared illegal and unenforceable in 1948 by Shelley v. Kraemer, social pressure and threats of violence were used to keep neighborhoods segregated, such as the 1958 cross burning in the nearby neighborhood of Ingleside Terraces. The restrictive covenant remained on the official deeds and documents for homes in the neighborhood for the next four decades until Norman Yee successfully led a campaign to remove the language in 1992.

While in Toronto, Douglas began contributing stories to magazines and papers, such as The Canadian Monthly. He was awarded a prize for the best short story submission to Truth magazine. In 1921, Douglas wrote to author L. M. Montgomery, commending her for “visualizing the soul of the Canadian people in the war” and for accurately portraying the “storm and stress of home life during those anxious days” in her recent book, Rilla of Ingleside. Montgomery noted in her journal that Douglas’ comments pleased her and were the “first competent testimony” that she had been successful in capturing the essence of that time period in her book.

William Grant Stratton (February 26, 1914 – March 2, 2001), known as "Billy the Kid", was the 32nd Governor of Illinois from 1953 to 1961, succeeding Adlai Stevenson II in that office. Born February 26, 1914 in Ingleside, Lake County, Illinois, the son of William J. Stratton, an Illinois politician, and Zula Van Wormer Stratton, he served two non-consecutive terms as an at-large Congressman from Illinois, elected in 1940 and 1946. He was elected State Treasurer in 1942 and 1950. He won the Republican nomination for governor in 1952, then defeated Lt. Governor Sherwood Dixon to become the youngest governor in America at that time.

The Dartmouth Street School is located in a residential area of southeastern Worcester, on a parcel bounded on the south by Dartmouth Street, the west by Almont Avenue, and the east by Ingleside Avenue. It is a two-story masonry structure, with an eclectic mix of stylistic elements in brick and sandstone. Its corner tower is Queen Anne in conception, but it houses a round-arch entrance opening, and grouped round-arch windows in the Romanesque style, before rising to its pyramidal roof. Its older portion has a hip roof, which is pierced by eyebrow dormers, while the newer portion has a flat roof.

There is no access between MD 122 and I-70 via I-695. East of the Beltway, the state highway intersects Woodlawn Drive and Gwynn Oak Avenue and passes along the northern edge of the Social Security Administration headquarters complex. East of the complex, MD 122 parallels Dead Run east and then southeast through a forested area, becoming four lanes at its intersection with Forest Park Avenue and Ingleside Avenue, the latter of which has a ramp to westbound I-70. The state highway continues through a partial cloverleaf interchange with I-70 just west of the Interstate's eastern terminus at a park and ride facility.

Corpus Christi Bay is a scenic semi-tropical bay on the Texas coast found in San Patricio and Nueces counties, next to the major city of Corpus Christi. It is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by Mustang Island, and is fed by the Nueces River and Oso Creek from its western and southern extensions, Nueces Bay and Oso Bay. The bay is located approximately south of San Antonio, and southwest of Houston. Corpus Christi Bay has a rich history of human settlement along its shores that dates back millennia and is responsible for the growth of Corpus Christi, and the smaller ports of Ingleside and Portland.

The circumstances surrounding the composition of Walter's poem "The Piper", as well as the poem's message, its almost instant recognition as a classic, and the tragic wartime demise of its author, is very similar to the story of the real-life poem "In Flanders Fields" by Canadian John McCrae. Though never fully written out in Rilla of Ingleside, "The Piper" is implied to mimic "In Flanders Fields" in content and form. L.M. Montgomery eventually wrote a poem called "The Piper"; it was the last poem she completed. Submitted to the Canadian magazine Saturday Night in April, 1942, "The Piper" ran on May 2, 1942, less than two weeks after Montgomery's death.

Not until almost a century later in 1773 was the town laid out and officially named Northampton Court House. The last decade of the 18th century and the first quarter of the 19th century saw significant growth and development, including the construction of a third courthouse in 1795, the building of a tavern adjacent to the court green, and several large homes which remain a core part of the town’s historic landscape today, including Cessford, Park Hall, and Ingleside, all examples of Georgian and Federal architecture. The town was known as Northampton Court House and Peachburg until the name Eastville was officially given to the community around 1800.

Perry was born in Ingleside, Ontario. He spent both the 2004–05 and 2005–06 season playing for the Barrie Colts but was traded to the London Knights after spending two seasons with the Colts. Perry played with the London Knights for the 2006–07 season, recording 1 goal and 18 assists for 19 points in 67 games. After playing four professional seasons in Russia, culminating in a 9-game stint with Admiral Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League, Perry returned to North America in signing a one-year ECHL contract with former club, the Reading Royals, for the 2015–16 season on October 7, 2015.

New underground stations would be constructed at Saint Francis Circle (J/K/M lines), Winston Drive (J/M, serving Stonestown), Holloway (J/M, serving SF State), and Parkmerced (M). A potential infill station could be constructed at Ocean Avenue in Lakeside Village. Several existing surface stations would be removed; in most cases, they would be replaced by underground stations except for the Ocean View, Merced Heights, and Ingleside stop near Junipero Serra and 19th. The proposed full subway line would continue past Parkmerced with a long tail track; that tail track may be extended in the future to connect to the Daly City BART station via the M line.

Additional changes to the service configuration followed until finally on December 17, 1980, the K line became operated as a through service from Embarcadero Station to Balboa Park, using LRVs, on weekdays only. Weekend service continued to use PCC cars until September 1982 when the Muni Metro became fully operational. From February 2001 to June 7, 2003, K Ingleside service was cut back to St. Francis Circle and replaced by buses on Ocean Avenue for the Ocean Avenue Reconstruction and Improvement Project, a major street repaving and utility replacement project. The Muni tracks and overhead power system were replaced, boarding islands were reconstructed, and accessible platforms built at Ocean and Lee.

The Geneva Yard car barns were demolished in January 1983. The old Geneva Car Barn on its final day of operation for streetcars in service, Sep. 19, 1982 In 1972, Muni began planning a long-proposed extension of the J Church line along San Jose Avenue (a section of which was built along the former Ocean View Branch through the Bernal Cut) to Balboa Park. The extension was intended to provide transit service to the Outer Mission, allow J Church and N Judah trains to access the carhouses via San Jose Avenue rather than a roundabout route via the K Ingleside line, and allow future through-routing of the J and M lines.

Just east of the interchange, I-70 entered the city of Baltimore and the freeway's median expands into a park and ride facility that was accessed at the Interstate's eastern terminus at a U-turn adjacent to Leakin Park. Eastbound I-70 traffic that wished to access Cooks Lane had to make a U-turn at the terminus and exit from a westbound loop ramp. Westbound access to I-70 is done via a single entrance ramp off Ingleside Avenue, which is considered part of the MD 122 interchange. The very short section of I-70 in the city of Baltimore is maintained by the Baltimore City Department of Transportation instead of the Maryland State Highway Administration (MDSHA).

The K and M lines were extended to Balboa Park during this time, providing further connections to BART. (The J line also saw an extension there in 1991, which provided yet another BART connection at Glen Park.) USSLRV passes an PCC at West Portal in November 1980. On February 18, 1980, the Muni Metro was officially inaugurated, with weekday N line service in the subway. The Metro service was implemented in phases, and the subway was served only on weekdays until 1982. The K Ingleside line began using the Metro subway on weekdays on June 11, 1980, the L Taraval and M Ocean View lines on December 17, 1980, and lastly the J Church line on June 17, 1981.

On March 30, 2020, Muni Metro service was replaced with buses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rail service returned for several days on August 22, with the routes reconfigured to improve reliability in the subway: K Ingleside and L Taraval service are interlined, running between Wawona and 46th Avenue station and Balboa Park station; no K or L service enters the subway. J Church service runs only on the surface between Balboa Park station and Church and Duboce station. M Ocean View and T Third Street service are interlined, running between Sunnydale station and Balboa Park station; it runs in the subway along with normal N Judah service and increased S Shuttle service.

Two weather stations on the island of Jamaica, one at Ingleside and the other at Morant Bay, both reported in excess of 13 in (33 cm) of rainfall. In contrast, the weather station at Les Cayes, Haiti recorded only 1.18 in (3 cm) of rainfall. Hurricane Dean intensified through the night of August 19 and reinforced its completed eyewall replacement cycle by forming a tight single-walled eye. At 0100 UTC August 20, the storm passed 120 mi (190 km) to the south of Sea Buoy 42056, which recorded a significant wave height of 36 ft (11 m). A concentric eyewall was briefly observed again on the morning of August 20, but it did not last long.

The Flagg House occupies a triangular lot on Worcester's east side, bounded on the west by Plantation Street and on the east by Ingleside Avenue. The house is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, three bays wide, with a side gable roof, large central chimney, and clapboard siding. Its center entrance (facing west toward Plantation Street) has modest trim, with a four-light transom window above. The house is assumed to have been built about 1718, when Benjamin Flagg II purchased a large tract of land in the area; however, it is not known how much of the building is his original construction, and how much may have been later alteration.

After Anne's loss, she and Leslie bond as the two women share their stories of pain as they "talk it out", leading them to hold hands and declare: "We are both women-and friends forever".Waterson, Elizabeth Magic Island, Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2008 page 81. Anne and Gilbert live the rest of their lives in Glen St. Mary, in a large house they name Ingleside. They have a total of seven children between approximately 1895-1900: Joyce (or "Joy") (who dies very soon after her birth at the House of Dreams), James Matthew ("Jem"), Walter Cuthbert, twin girls Diana ("Di") and Anne ("Nan"), Shirley (the youngest son), and Bertha Marilla ("Rilla").

The concurrency remains as Lee Highway through Calhoun and intersects and has a short concurrency with SR 163 (Lamonville Road/Bowater Road) and then continues to the northeast. US 11 Business splits away in Riceville with SR 39 (Riceville Road) and goes northeast through downtown Athens as US 11/SR 2 continues northeast, briefly running a concurrency with SR 39 in Riceville before it heads into downtown concurrent with US 11 BUS, and around the northwest side of downtown Athens as Congress Parkway. It then intersects SR 30 (Decatur Pike) before leaving Athens. Just north of Athens, US 11 BUS/SR 305 (Ingleside Avenue) intersect US 11/SR 2 where US 11 BUS terminates.

Another seawall, which starts in Emerald Cove with gaps at places such as a spoils island that can be viewed in the bay and the canal, is slightly out in the water. This seawall ends when it reaches land at the southern portion of Corpus Christi Beach. North of the canal, Corpus Christi Beach is found along the shore to Rincon Point, where Corpus Christi Bay opens to Nueces Bay and must be crossed using the Nueces Bay Causeway to Indian Point near Portland, from where Indian Reef juts from offshore. Past Portland, the shore curves to the southeast where the large La Quinta Island forms on the backdrop of industrial plants in Ingleside.

Five people were found dead at a home in Ingleside, San Francisco, on the morning of Friday, March 23, 2012. The victims, all Chinese immigrants, were an elderly couple, two of their adult children, and their daughter-in-law. In Chinese-language media both in the United States and overseas, which devoted the most coverage to the killings, the case was usually referred to as the Lei family quintuple slayings. Police initially believed the case to be a murder- suicide, but two days later arrested 35-year-old San Francisco resident Binh Thai Luc, a friend of one of the victims, and charged him with five counts of murder, five counts of robbery, and two counts of burglary.

In this, he took after his mother, who also dreamed of being a writer, and who did make at least one professional sale. While of a more sensitive nature than some of his school friends, and occasionally branded a "milksop", Walter was generally respected by his school mates for his intelligence and compassion. He also won some admiration after winning a fight with a school bully (Dan Reese) who had insulted his mother and Faith Meredith (second oldest of the Meredith clan). Walter and his siblings (along with the Meredith children who lived in the neighbouring house) spent many hours playing in a hollow called Rainbow Valley, which was located near Ingleside.

The mall, then faced with competition from the new and massive Holyoke Mall at Ingleside, went into a long period of decline. It closed in 2001 and was eventually torn down. The site is now a successful plaza featuring Home Depot, Staples, Sleepy's, a party shop and some other stores, anchored on the Bradlees side of the old mall with a Wal-Mart Super Center and ringed by Friendly's, Applebee's and a 99. Forbes & Wallace also had branch stores at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield, MA and opened a small store at the Manchester Parkade in Manchester, CT. The Eastfield Mall location served Springfield's affluent eastern and southeastern suburban areas and was a very popular shopping destination.

87th Street (Woodruff) is an electrified commuter rail station along the Metra Electric Main Line in the Chatham neighborhood of the City of Chicago, Illinois. The station is located at 87th Street and Dauphin Avenue (although unofficially includes South Ingleside Avenue) and is away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 87th Street-Woodruff Station is in zone C. Like much of the main branch of the Metra Electric line, 87th Street-Woodruff is built on elevated tracks near the embankment of a bridge over 87th Street. This bridge also carries the Amtrak line that runs parallel to it, carrying the City of New Orleans, Illini, and Saluki trains.

At the Woodruff station, street-side parking is available on the southwest and southeast corners of 87th Street and Dauphin Avenue at the north end of Dauphin Park. This can be found on the west side of the station just south of 87th Street. Though Metra's official website claims no bus connections are available, CTA's 87 bus does stop at Dauphin and Ingleside Avenues near the station, as well as on South Dobson Avenue on the east side of the station. The northbound 4 Cottage Grove bus stops on the southeast corner of 87th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue and the southbound 4 stops on the northwest corner of 87th Street and Cottage Grove.

K Ingleside would branch off from the underground line and surface on Junipero Serra Boulevard just south of Saint Francis Circle. M Ocean View will remain underground along the current right of way under West Portal Avenue and 19th Avenue, branching off at Holloway to Parkmerced. The underground line would continue with J Church service along 19th until surfacing just east of the intersection of 19th and Junipero Serra, then continuing on to Balboa Park via Randolph, Broad, and San Jose. The current West Portal station will most likely have to be redesigned as a two-level station with the J/K/M lines on the lower level and the L line on the upper level.

Following service changes on June 30, 2007, the K Ingleside and the T Third Street lines were spliced together inside the Market Street subway tunnel, though keeping their respective line designations, resulting in an upside-down horseshoe-shaped route from Balboa Park to Bayshore and Sunnydale. At West Portal Station, inbound K trains heading towards downtown change their signs to the T line; conversely, at Embarcadero Station, T trains heading into downtown change signs to the K line. The trains show the ultimate destination of the spliced lines rather than the intermediate "terminus" of the individual line. Service on the line was modified from June 25 to August 24, 2018 due to the Twin Peaks Tunnel shutdown.

William M. Garth was a descendant of the prosperous family of Thomas Garth, the first of the Garth family to settle in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1762.U. S. National Park Service Department of the Interior - Historic American Buildings Survey Retrieved August 17, 2018 One of several in the family named William, he owned Ingleside Stock Farm which had its own training track and a 5,000 square-foot horse barn. The property was on Garth Road outside Charlottesville, Virginia which was named for his family.Better Publications LLC - The Hook archives, Charlottesville, Virginia Retrieved August 17, 2018 In 1923 he purchased 1911 Kentucky Derby winner Meridian to stand as a sire at his stud farm.

Other economic activity by the Portuguese included a gasoline service station owned by Frank Enos; Grangers Dairy, owned by the Seamas Family; Da Rosa Grocery store, owned by the Da Rosa family; Pimentel's Ingleside Cafe owned by Tony Pimentel (this cafe is now known as "The Trap"); a slaughterhouse owned by Faustino Silva, and Frank & George Rogers Trucking Co., which delivered hay and produce to customers. The Portuguese created their own schools, known as Upper and Lower Lisbon Schools, so that their children could receive an education and at the same time stay close to their cultural roots. Levees along the Sacramento River were built and maintained by the Portuguese. One major flood, the Edwards levee break in 1904, occurred while the Portuguese farmed the area.

Pullen gained a reputation as a builder of luxury apartments, and examples of these buildings can be found at Florida Court in Bromley, with three blocks in a low-density, five-acre landscaped plot. At Beulah Hill Pullen built Tropicana, a groundbreaking block of flats to Lowmans design, climbing up Spurgeon Road with balconies having a grand view over southwest London. Pullen also built the Parklands apartments (with roof gardens overlooking Kelsey Park), Parkwood court, Ingleside Close, Montreux Court, Highgrove Court and Gatcombe Court in Beckenham, the last three being the innovative "catslide" roof design, again by Joyce Lowman. Pullen developed extensively down Wells Park road, Sydenham and with Chevening Court built the whole of Brasted Close in Orpington, Kent.

Many of the community's original settlers, recruited by Scott from the East and Midwest, were educated and had an appreciation for cultural activities. The town was renamed Scottsdale in 1894. First schoolhouse in Scottsdale In 1896, these settlers established the Scottsdale Public School system, and opened the first schoolhouse, which was followed by the opening of the first general store by J. L. Davis, which also housed the first post office for Scottsdale in 1897. In the early 1900s the community supported an artists and writers culture, culminating in the opening of the region's first resort in 1909, the Ingleside Inn, just south of the Arizona Canal and west of the Crosscut Canal (Indian School Road at about 64th Street) in what is today Scottsdale.

The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry County Library, Ontario, Canada, was established in 1971, the SD&G; County Library grew from the merger of seven existing libraries located in a number of small rural communities of Eastern Ontario, Canada: Lancaster, Ingleside, Newington (ceased 1998), Morrisburg, Chesterville, Winchester and South Mountain. Added in the same year were branches in Maxville and Alexandria, followed by Long Sault (1972); Crysler (1973); Moose Creek (ceased 2004), Avonmore, St. Andrews (ceased 2016), Williamstown (1975); Brinston (1976–1998); Finch (1978) and Dalkeith (1978-2016); Williamsburg (1979); Morewood (1986-2016); Glen Robertson (1988–1998); Lancaster Township (1992–2001); and Iroquois (1998).Marin, Clive and Frances Marin. T Third Street train serving Castro station in 2013 T Third Street service was operated between Castro station and Sunnydale station. Following service changes on June 30, 2007, the T Third Street and the K Ingleside lines were interlined through the Market Street subway and Twin Peaks tunnels, resulting in a combined route from Balboa Park, through downtown, to the Visitacion Valley neighborhood. The underground section of the line was closed west of Castro station from June 25 to August 24, 2018 due to the Twin Peaks Tunnel shutdown. On August 25, 2018, at the conclusion of the shutdown, Muni began running permanently two-car trains on the K/T line (as had been used east of Castro during the shutdown).

On Easter Sunday, thirteen days after the Rainwater-Story shootings, Ward Anderson, a merchant seaman, and Terry White, a 15-year-old student, were both shot and wounded as they stood at a bus stop at the corner of Fillmore and Hayes streets. Their attacker was a black man who approached the corner on foot and fled after firing. On the evening of April 16, 23-year- old Nelson T. Shields, IV, son of a wealthy Du Pont executive, accompanied a friend to pick up a rug at a house on Vernon Street in the Ingleside district. Shields had opened the back of his station wagon and was making room in the cargo area for the rug when he was shot repeatedly.

The T Third officially starts at West Portal, when trains switch signs from their original K Ingleside designation to T Third prior to proceeding through the Twin Peaks Tunnel and Market Street Subway to the Caltrain Depot at 4th and King streets and then along the new extension. The 15-Third bus line was eliminated and the 8-Bayshore bus line was extended to replace the 15 in areas not served by the metro extension, including City College and Fisherman's Wharf. The extension was supposed to connect directly to the Bayshore Caltrain Station when the station was in San Francisco County. However, as part of Caltrain's 2004 CTX project, Caltrain relocated the Bayshore Station to San Mateo County without informing Muni.

For the next four years, the Navy's eight Mine Countermeasures Rotational Crews conducted their pre- deployment training in these Ingleside-based ships before completing a six- month deployment in the Persian Gulf in or . But by early 2000, the Navy no longer manned its forward-deployed MCM ships with rotational crews, and on 20 January 2000, the remaining members of MCM Rotational Crew BRAVO embarked in Pioneer--a ship they knew well--as her permanent crew. Pioneer now serves in Mine Countermeasures Squadron 1 (MCMRon 1), the squadron responsible for planning and overseeing the Navy's Mine Countermeasures operations in the Western Pacific. The crew moved aboard and quickly made the ship their home by resealing decks, painting, and generally taking ownership.

In addition to administering the school, Baird taught arithmetic and history, though the fees charged were inadequate to cover the costs of running the establishment, according to one of her former pupils, Robert Coontz, who would become a rear admiral in the United States Navy. She remained at Ingleside for six years and tendered her resignation when she was appointed president of Hardin College and Conservatory of Music. The couple moved to Mexico, Missouri to take up the post and continued with Homer as business manager and Baird serving as the school principal and teacher. During her tenure at Hardin, the school grew from a small number of enrollees to having several hundred students and both of her daughters taught at the school.

Carlton E. Morse created four different shows based on SFPD files for NBC's Pacific Coast Network, Chinatown Squad, Barbary Coast Nights, Killed in Action, and To the Best of Their Ability. The SFPD has also had a strong presence in novels and short stories. Sidney Herschel Small wrote a series of thirty stories that appeared in Detective Fiction Weekly between 1931 and 1936 featuring Sergeant Jimmy Wentworth, the head of the Chinatown Squad, whose adventures were presumably based, if loosely, on the activities of Jack Manion, the real-life commander of SFPD's Chinatown detail. In the early 1960s, Breni James wrote two novels about Sergeant Gun Mattson, uniformed patrol supervisor at the Ingleside District Station, The Night of the Kill (1961), which was an Edgar nominee for Best First Novel, and The Shakeup (1964).

On returning to England he asks each of his accusers to take back one of the feathers. The 1907 P. G. Wodehouse novel The White Feather is a school story about apparent cowardice and the efforts a boy goes to in order to redeem himself by physical combat. In the novel Birds of a Feather by Jacqueline Winspear, four young girls take it upon themselves to hand out feathers to young men not in uniform in an effort to shame them into enlisting on Britain's side in The Great War. Rilla of Ingleside (1921) by Lucy Maud Montgomery, the penultimate book in her Anne of Green Gables series, sees Anne Shirley's son, Walter Blythe, enlist in the First World War after receiving a white feather in the mail; he subsequently dies in battle.

In the early 1920s, San Francisco developers had an eye on the area as a site for recreational summer homes. The name Emerald Hills was first used in a 1920 brochure distributed by George Irvine, who had big plans but inadequate cash . When he lost the property near the lake, it was purchased by Charles Holt, the Anglo-California Bank employee assigned to the foreclosure. Holt brought in builder George Leonard, and Emerald Lake Hills became the prime property of the Leonard & Holt Real Estate & Mortgage Co. (Another of their projects was Ingleside Terraces, on Junipero Serra Boulevard and Ocean Avenue in San Francisco.) Early on in the development, Irvine's original sewer system became overtaxed and the dam burst; Leonard and Holt had to drain the lake and rebuild the dam.

Trains enter from Ocean Avenue and drop off passengers at a high-level platform (which is connected to the BART fare mezzanine and the path top San Jose Avenue with a ramp) on the west side of the yard. They lay over on a pair of tracks on the south side of the yard, then pick up passengers at a high-level platform on the east side of the yard adjacent to San Jose Avenue. J Church trains exit the yard there onto tracks on San Jose Avenue (with a separate stop at Ocean Avenue), while K Ingleside trains continue around the loop and exit where they entered. A second Muni rail yard, the Cameron Beach Yard, is located south of Geneva Avenue and east of San Jose Avenue.

Rilla's siblings Nan, Di, and Walter return to Redmond College, and Shirley returns to Queen's Academy, leaving Rilla anxiously alone at home with her parents, their spinster housekeeper Susan Baker, and Gertrude Oliver, a teacher who is boarding with the Blythes while her fiancé reports to the front. As the war drags on, Rilla matures, organizing the Junior Red Cross in her village. While collecting donations for the war effort, she comes across a house where a young mother has just died with her husband away at war, leaving no one to care for her two-week-old son. Rilla takes the sickly little boy back to Ingleside in a soup tureen, naming him "James Kitchener Anderson" after his father and Herbert Kitchener, British Secretary of State for War.

Harris also pushed for higher bail for criminal defendants involved in gun-related crimes, arguing that historically low bail encouraged outsiders to commit crimes in San Francisco. SFPD officers credited Harris with tightening the loopholes defendants had used in the past. In addition to creating a gun crime unit, Harris opposed releasing defendants on their own recognizance if they were arrested on gun crimes, sought minimum 90-day sentences for possession of concealed or loaded weapons, and charged all assault weapons possession cases as felonies, adding that she would seek prison terms for criminals who possessed or used assault weapons and would seek maximum penalties on gun- related crimes. In May 2005, convicted sex offender Roberto Gamero broke into a home in the Ingleside district and sexually assaulted a nine-year-old.

Eventually, in the summer of 1915, Walter felt he was completely over the effects of typhoid, and succumbed to the Piper's call, volunteering for duty. Though his status as a college man may have made it possible for him to enroll as an officer, he, like his college-educated brother Jem, joined as a regular serviceman and was assigned the rank of private. After training in Canada, and returning to Ingleside for one last visit in July 1915, Walter was shipped to France and fought in the trenches there. In the spring of 1916, at great risk to himself, he carried a wounded fellow soldier out of No Man's Land and back to safety; for this action, he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal, the second-highest honour awarded to Canadian soldiers at the time.

Maclean Hall Maclean ("muh-klayn") Hall was a residence hall located at 5445 S. Ingleside Avenue and accommodated 98 residents (94 in singles, 4 in two doubles), in one house called Maclean House. Although it was part of the university campus, it was located in a different ZIP code (60615) from the rest of campus and was not featured on most campus maps despite being only one block North of the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center. The four-story building, originally built as a parish retirement home, was acquired by the university and renovated in 1991. Maclean Hall featured the most common space of any house in the Housing System, including a full commercial kitchen, a large central lounge, a dining room, a solarium, a basement game room, and an assembly room with a 15 foot projector wall.

She is also called Roly-Poly, or, generally, 'Rilla'. The novel includes a series of adventures which spotlight one of Anne's children at a time as they engage in the misunderstandings and mishaps of youth. In many of the adventures, the honest Ingleside children are taken in by children who tell lies in order to seem more interesting: Nan is deceived by a lying schoolchild into thinking that she was actually switched at birth; Walter is convinced by a school chum that his mother is dying; and Di gets two stories, in both of which she makes friends with schoolgirls who deceive her. In other stories, oldest child Jem deals with the loss of a pet, and youngest child Rilla somehow gets the idea that it is shameful to be seen carrying a cake, and goes to great lengths to avoid doing so.

Walter Cuthbert Blythe was the second son of Gilbert and Anne Blythe, and was born in 1893 at their home "Ingleside" in Glen St. Mary, P.E.I., Canada. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Walter Shirley; his middle name honours siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had adopted his mother. Walter had six siblings: eldest sister Joyce (who died soon after she was born), older brother James Matthew (nicknamed "Jem"), younger sisters Anne and Diana (named for their mother, Anne, and their mother's adolescent "bosom friend", Diana Barry, and known as "Nan" and "Di" respectively), younger brother Shirley (the family name of his mother); and youngest sister Bertha Marilla (from her maternal grandmother's first name and the late Marilla Cuthbert), also known as "Rilla". Even as a child, Walter loved poetry and aspired to one day become a famous poet.

Throughout the 1970s, John Bradshaw served as a management consultant at Drillco Manufacturing Company and as a leadership trainer at Denka Chemical Company. He was also director of human resources and served on the board of directors of Texas General Oil Company. Bradshaw was the developer and presenter of workshops for forty Fortune 500 companies and thousands of evolved non-profits and for-profit institutions. He presented lectures and workshops for educational, professional and social organizations starting in 1964. He served as: member, board of directors and as president of the Palmer Drug Abuse Program (1981–88); national director of Life-Plus Co- Dependency Treatment Center (1987–1990); founder and national director of the John Bradshaw Center at Ingleside Hospital in Los Angeles (1991–1997); and member, national board of directors of The International Montessori Society (1990–2016).

During the American Civil War, Union troops commanded by Major General John A. Dix captured the Eastern shore of Maryland by July 1861. In November 1861, General Dix sent Delmarva peninsula native Brigadier General Henry H. Lockwood (of Kent County, Delaware and stationed at Cambridge, Maryland) southward to occupy the Peninsula's southern end, known as Virginia's Eastern shore. Around November 15, Dix and Lockwood promised to restore trade with those counties as well as the lights in their lighthouses, and protect private property if residents would not resist the Union occupying troops. Although every able-bodied white man between the ages of 18 and 45 years old was already a member of the local Virginia militia, Col. Charles Smith of Ingleside in Eastville only led about 800 soldiers and 1200 militiamen to defend those two Virginia counties from the massing Union forces.

" "The Piper" first appears in the Anne books in Rainbow Valley (1919), inspiring the future grown children of Glen St. Mary with his courage. In Rilla of Ingleside (1921), "the Piper" returns as a more sinister figure, inspiring Anne's son Walter to enlist in the Canadian expeditionary force, while taking on the appearance and personality of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The Reverend Ewen MacDonald, a good Calvinist who believed in predestination, had become convinced that he was not one of "the Elect" chosen by God to go to Heaven, leading him to spend hours depressed and staring into space. The Reverend MacDonald often told his wife that he wished she and their children had never been born as they were also not of "the Elect," and all of them were going to Hell when they died as he believed that they were all predestined to be among the "damned.

K (left) and J streetcars laying over at Balboa Park in 1997 As Muni began transitioning from aging PCC streetcars to the Boeing USLRV in the 1970s, Elkton shops and the old car barn in Geneva Yard (which had been Muni's only rail yard since 1956) required modernization. Elkton Shops was closed on May 30, 1977, and replaced with a new facility. This Metro Rail Center included a loop track around its periphery, with an alighting area adjacent to the BART fare mezzanine in the southwest corner and a boarding area near San Jose Avenue in the southeast corner, plus a stop in the northeast corner of the yard. Some K Ingleside shuttle service was extended to Balboa Park on April 23, 1979, and all weekday service ran to Balboa Park after the line was converted to Muni Metro light rail operation on December 17, 1980.

He came to be a very conspicuous figure in New Orleans life in almost every line of activity. His death came at a time when his identification with prominent interests was fully established, and his loss was severely felt. It occurred on May 31, 1885, as a result of a fall from his horse while riding, at his Northern Home in Ingleside, near Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. His funeral, from his residence on St. Charles Ave. was attended by the leading citizens of New Orleans, by delegations from the John A. Mower Post, of the Army of Tennessee, Louisiana Hose Company, and many commercial institutions, and no less than four orphan asylums sent several hundred of their little charges to lay their humble offerings on the bier of one of whom one of the Sisters said, through her tears, “he was so good to the orphans.” The pall-bearers were Gen.

View west along CR 546 at its eastern terminus at US 1 in Lawrence Township CR 546 begins at an intersection with Route 29 in Hopewell Township, heading northeast on two- lane undivided Washington Crossing-Pennington Road. Past Route 29, the road crosses over the Delaware River on the Washington Crossing Bridge and connects to PA 532 in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. CR 546 runs northeast from the western terminus into wooded areas of Washington Crossing State Park. After a turn to the east, the route crosses CR 579 and passes a mix of homes and farms. The road has intersections with CR 637 (Jacobs Creek Road) and CR 611 (Scotch Road) before crossing over CSX’s Trenton Subdivision. Immediately after the bridge, CR 546 has a junction with CR 631 (Ingleside Avenue) prior to reaching the Pennington Circle, a traffic circle, where it meets Route 31 and CR 640 (South Main Street).

In fact, a local newspaper reprinted a warning that had been distributed in the community: "Wanted – Fifty good women, over twenty and under fifty years of age; also fifty good honest-hearted men with families, to meet upon the Square when called upon, and go to the Spirit Fruit farm and tell them to take their departure at once or take the consequences, as tar is cheap and feathers plentiful." Spirit Fruit Society Open House – Lisbon, Ohio, 1904 In June 1904, Beilhart invited the public to an 'open house' where he attempted to explain the motives and beliefs of the society. Over 400 people attended the gathering. Among them, it has been claimed, were Clarence Darrow and Elbert Hubbard but this has not been documented, although Beilhart is known to have visited Hubbard in East Aurora and Darrow was a frequent visitor to the society during the Chicago and Ingleside years.

At the time, there were no firm plans to revive any service on the surface of Market Street or return PCCs to regular running. However, tracks were rehabilitated for the 1983 Historic Trolley Festival, and the inauguration of the F line, served by heritage streetcars, followed in 1995. A train of Boeing LRVs at Embarcadero station in 1993 By the late 1980s, Muni scheduled 20 trains per hour (TPH) through the Market Street subway at peak periods, with all trains using the crossover west of Embarcadero station to reverse direction.. To allow for high frequencies on the surface branches, eastbound trains were combined at West Portal and Duboce Portal, and westbound trains split at those locations. Two- car N Judah trains and one-car J Church trains (each 10TPH) combined at the Duboce Portal, while two-car L Taraval trains (10TPH) alternately combined with two-car M Ocean View and K Ingleside (each 5 TPH) trains at West Portal to form four-car trains.

Baptist Village's origins as a village can be traced to 1725, when the first 5 people were baptized by the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Boston in the Connecticut River directly east of the Elmwood Cemetery, between what is now Ingleside and Springdale. With the village continually visited by a number of lay preachers in its earliest years, the community gained interest in building a house of worship prior to the incorporation of any formal church, the first Baptist Church being incorporated in 1803. In 1792 Baptist Village saw the construction of this first meetinghouse, known colloquially as the "Lord's barn", as funds ran out before its completion; it was described in the church's centennial history as "unsightly" and "excessively plain" in its first years. By 1801, the Congregationalists, having established their first church in the year prior, asked for use of the building in exchange for finishing it and adding permanent seating, to which the Baptists agreed.

Maryland Route 313 (MD 313) is a state highway located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the United States. The route runs from U.S. Route 50 (US 50) in Mardela Springs, Wicomico County north to MD 213 and MD 290 in Galena, Kent County. It is predominantly a rural two-lane road that runs through agricultural areas a short distance west of the Delaware border, with the exception of a four-lane divided bypass of Denton that is concurrent with MD 404. MD 313 serves many communities, including Sharptown, Eldorado, Federalsburg, Denton, Greensboro, Goldsboro, Barclay, Sudlersville, Millington, and Massey. The route intersects many major roads, including MD 54 in Mardela Springs, MD 404 in the Denton area, MD 302 in Barclay, MD 300 in Sudlersville, and US 301 near Massey. The designation MD 313 was first used in 1927 for the road running from Eldorado to Galena, while the portion south to Mardela Springs was designated a part of US 213. By 1933, the route was extended to Mardela Springs following a realignment of US 213. MD 313 was rerouted to bypass Ingleside in 1949 and Greensboro in 1950.

One of the earliest maps of Holyoke, as "Ireland, or 3d Parish of Springfield", often corrupted as "Ireland Parish", 1827 While the earliest settlers of Springfield would largely be of Yankee English stock, the first of the residents of the 3rd Parish of West Springfield were Irish immigrants who began settling in the region before the construction of the dam and industrialization that followed, granting the area the name "Ireland" or "Ireland Parish." Colonists had claimed lands by 1655, and early accounts refer to John Riley as the first permanent settler of Holyoke, but though Riley owned 28 acres along "Riley's Brook" (Tannery Brook in modern-day Ingleside), his daughters Mary and Margaret, and their Irish Protestant husbands, Joseph Ely and William MacCranny, would first establish their homesteads in 1667. By the time West Springfield was partitioned in 1707, numerous Irish families had moved to the Parish, and eventually it was chartered as such, the 3rd Parish of West Springfield, on July 7, 1786. Quickly it gained the nickname Ireland, for in those days a number of other families had joined the descendants of the Elys and MacCrannys; these names have also been in the past combined into the better known Ireland Parish handle.
