By the time of the Spanish conquest, Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent deity was widely worshipped from what is now central Mexico down into Central America. The god is linked to a legendary ruler of Tula, Ce Acatl Quetzacoatl, who was often simply referred to as Quetzalcoatl. Mythological accounts surrounding the fall of Tula have this ruler succumbing to temptation by a dark deity named Tezcatlipoca, causing the destruction of the city. The fallen ruler then wanders to the Gulf Coast, immolates himself, becoming the morning star (Venus).

In Silent Hill: Origins, as part of the birthing ritual, Dahlia immolates Alessa by burning their house, which Travis Grady sees and stops by taking Alessa away from the house. Dahlia and her associate, Kaufmann, almost manages to birth the God, but the Flauros splits Alessa's soul, one half of which reincarnates into a baby girl the Mason couple adopted as "Cheryl". In Silent Hill, Dahlia first appears to Harry as a friendly bystander, but later reveals her true persona as the one who orders the abduction of Cheryl. She manages to fuse Cheryl with Alessa, becoming the Incubator.

As the hopelessness of their situation becomes clear, many of the adults descend into insanity. Lunchroom worker Sekiya hoards the school's food and immolates the teachers who attempt to stop him, while teacher Wakahara murders his colleagues and several students before being killed by Sho in self- defense. With the adults dead, Sho and his companions attempt to lead the children as a quasi-government. Nishi, a telepathic student who is able to communicate with individuals in the past, is able to contact Emiko, who prepares objects in her own time to assist the children in their future.

Chelsea Murdock is a character in the film Hellraiser: Hellworld where she is played by Katheryn Winnick. A teenaged girl, Chelsea is a fan of the MMORPG computer game Hellworld, a game based upon the Hellraiser mythology. After her friend Adam immolates himself with gasoline due to his obsession with Hellworld, Chelsea abandons the game, but two years after Adam's funeral is pressured by her friends into attending a Hellworld centered party at Leviathan House. While at the party, Chelsea is plagued by several bizarre incidents seemingly caused by the host of the party and, after escaping Leviathan House, witnesses Pinhead murder a police officer she had found patrolling the woods.

Her final fate, however, is uncertain; her only mention in the canonical games in the series is in Silent Hill: Homecoming, when James Wheeler recounts to Alex Shepherd and Elle Holloway that he had once considered to take up a police job at Brahms after its previous occupant, Cybil, disappeared in Silent Hill. In Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Cybil is reimagined, again appearing as a cop whom Harry encounters in Silent Hill. In the film Silent Hill, Cybil helps Rose to search for her daughter, Sharon, but gets captured by the Order, who immolates her alive. Cybil is voiced by Susan Papa in the original game and by Kirsten Potter in Shattered Memories.

North Africa is wiped out; Boston is burned to the ground; Rome is destroyed with atomic bombs; and the US pushes for a moat of cobalt dust to isolate Africa, which is written off as a total loss. The world's armed forces are reorganized under a Canadian Admiral, Francois Delacourt, who heads Barrier Command, responsible for the absolute separation of contaminated and clean areas.

A globe-trotting mercenary and assassin whose actions, such as plundering cruise ships and blowing up airliners, have resulted in him being branded a terrorist, Saracen hails from an undisclosed Arabian country, and is said to be happily married. Saracen first encountered the Punisher when the two infiltrated the same "ninja training camp" being run by con artists in Kansas. When the camp employees begin murdering the students, having realized that there are saboteurs among them, Saracen and the Punisher work together to survive, with Saracen explaining that he had enrolled in the camp in order to discern who among its former students was responsible for poisoning of one of the leaders of the Free Armenian Army. After the camp's instructors are killed, the Punisher saves Saracen from an explosion that immolates the establishment's owner, Chester Scully.

After presenting Ruan Haikuo with the sword she then tells him that Master Blue Cloud and White Rain are the only people who could possibly know who killed his father. She then sends him out of the house to begin his journey, and she immolates herself in their family home giving Ruan Haikuo nowhere to return to. Ruan Haikuo wanders for some time and eventually comes to the house of the Lady of the Rouge, but she cannot give him any information about finding Master Blue Cloud or White Rain; however, she asks that if he should find Master Blue Cloud to ask him where she can find Liu Tian.
