Grove Park was named for Dr. Edwin Wiley Grove, president of the Grove Park Development Company, a pharmaceutical magnate who also built Atkins Park near Virginia-Highland in northeast Atlanta, and many Asheville, North Carolina hotels including the Grove Park Inn. Grove Park was developed in the 1920s and 1930s by various developers, but primarily by the Grove Park Development Company. Mr. Grove died in Asheville NC on January 27,1927. He is buried in Paris TN , the town where he first invented his Grove's Chill Tonic with Fred Seely.

He combined Pinebury and the Grove into one large property and the family moved into the Grove House early in 1858. During the Civil War, the family went to Spartanburg. Both Pinebury and the Grove were sites of military activity and the Grove House was at one time occupied by Confederate troops. Since the Grove was considered abandoned, it was confiscated.

Hiker in Muir Grove Muir Grove is a giant sequoia grove in Sequoia National Park of the Tulare County, which covers about . The grove, located in the northwest corner of the park, is accessed by the Muir Grove Trail which begins from the Dorst Creek Campground. Because of its relatively remote location in the park, it is significantly less visited than the more popular groves of large sequoia trees in the park. The isolated atmosphere helps keep Muir Grove untouched and preserved.

The La Vega Independent School District was formed in 1927 from the consolidation of the Pecan Grove, Oak Grove, and West Brook Schools. Board members of the new district turned over the task of finding a name for the district to the PTAs of the former Oak Grove and Pecan Grove Schools. Pecan Grove PTA favored Bellmead Schools, but Bellmead was not an incorporated city at the time. The Oak Grove PTA suggested La Vega Schools, taken from the Mexican land grant of Tomas de la Vega which encompassed the area where the new school was to be built.

Originally, gathering in The Grove was an informal tailgating get-together when most serious pre-game socializing took place at the fraternity and sorority houses. By the 1950s, the Grove started to become its own pregame tradition. Automobiles, including RV campers, have been kept out of The Grove since a rainstorm in 1991 that reduced the Grove to a rutted swamp. The autos were replaced by tents.

The village of West Grove derived its name from the Friends Meeting House on Harmony Road built in 1787 several miles west of the Friends Meeting House in the village of London Grove. West Grove was separated from London Grove Township and became an incorporated borough on November 29, 1893. However, the decree of incorporation was not recorded until January 9, 1894, to prevent confusing the tax accounts of London Grove Township and to eliminate the need for a special borough election. The move for incorporation followed several years of significant growth in West Grove that began to develop with the coming of the Philadelphia and Baltimore Central Railroad in 1860.

MD 449 at MD 213 in Locust Grove Maryland Route 449 is the unsigned designation for the section of Shallcross Wharf Road from MD 213 east to MD 444 near Locust Grove in northern Kent County. The course of MD 449 and Shallcross Wharf Road northeast to Old Locust Grove Road were part of the original Chestertown-Galena highway proposed for improvement as a state road in 1909. This stretch was constructed as a macadam road in 1912. After US 213's bypass of Locust Grove was built in 1950 and 1951, the old path of US 213 through Locust Grove--Shallcross Wharf Road between the western end of the bypass and the center of Locust Grove, and Old Locust Grove Road between the center of Locust Grove and the eastern end of the bypass--became part of MD 444, with what is now MD 449 being a spur of the main route. After MD 444's present course west of Locust Grove was constructed in 1968, Old Locust Grove Road became MD 447, and the portion of Shallcross Wharf Road between US 213 and the new MD 447 became MD 449.

The station is part of the Arnos Grove group of stations, comprising all seven stations from Cockfosters to Turnpike Lane, and the management office for the group is in Arnos Grove station.

Ed Masterson was initially buried at cemetery at Fort Dodge five miles to the southeast of Dodge City in Ford County. In later years all but military graves were moved to a new city cemetery called Prairie Grove north of Dodge City, then eventually to Maple Grove west of Dodge City. It is believed that Ed's grave was moved from Fort Dodge to Prairie Grove, but was lost when the city closed Prairie Grove and relocated the cemetery to the new Maple Grove west of Dodge City. His current location is unknown.

Signage plans for the Macy Grove Road Improvements project indicate that NC 150 will be rerouted around Kernersville, continuing on US 421 (Salem Parkway) to the Macy Grove Road interchange (exit 221) and then following the under-construction northern extension of Macy Grove Road around the east side of Kernersville to rejoin the existing NC 150 alignment just north of Smith Edwards Road. The interchange between US 421 and Macy Grove Road began construction in June 2013 and opened in November 2015, and construction began on the extension of Macy Grove Road in June 2018.

Iron production ended in 1895, and the Pine Grove Iron Works was sold on September 12, 1913, as part of 3 tracts which became the majority of the Pine Grove Division of the South Mountain Forest and, by 1931, the Pine Grove Furnace State Park. The ownership chain of the Pine Grove Iron Works was published in 1886, and a history by one of the superintendents was published in 1934. The Ironmaster's Mansion was restored by 1985 and renovated from 2010 until April 5, 2011. In 1991, Railroads to Pine Grove Furnace was published.
On 5 May 2017, Hunts Grove residents formed a residents group to gather and represent the interests of its members. As of August 2018, Hunts Grove comprises more than 430 homes and the residents group comprises 392 verified members on its Facebook group page. Founded in 1871, the town now known as "Old Ida Grove" was located on the north side of the river. However, when the railroad was built through the neighborhood in 1877 on the south side, Ida Grove was relocated there. Ida Grove was incorporated on May 31, 1878, and was named for the county, which was named for Mount Ida, Greece. The Ida Grove post office contains an oil on linen mural, Preparation for the First County Fair in Ida Grove–1872, painted by Andrene Kauffman in 1940.
After visiting Asheville, NC, in 1897 Grove built a summer home there and later moved there permanently. He developed the Grove Park residential area and built the Grove Park Inn with his son-in-law Fred Loring Seely in 1913. He later built the new Battery Park Hotel in downtown Asheville (on the site of the former hotel of the same name) and began construction of the Grove Arcade, a new kind of indoor retail center, which was completed in 1929 after his death. Grove died at the Battery Park Hotel in 1927.
The grove itself is about large with giant sequoias found on considerably less acreage. Despite this, the grove is home to approximately 125 giant sequoias greater than in diameter and 1 giant sequoia greater than in diameter. A long interpretative trail called the Trail of 100 Giants that winds through the densest collection of old-growth giant sequoias found at the grove. A long grassy meadow bisects the grove.

Cottage Grove was incorporated in 1887, but the people living on the east side rebelled in 1893 and founded East Cottage Grove. A post office called Bible Grove was established in 1858, the name was changed to Biblegrove in 1895, and the post office closed in 1908. The 1928 court case was heard in St. Louis where Grove's Paris Medicine Company was based. The suit ended in 1928 when a presumed final will was found that purportedly proved that Grove had not promised Seely any special remuneration or ownership rights for his years of work for Paris Medicine Company and the Grove Park Inn. As a result of Seely's failed lawsuit, Gertrude (Grove's second wife), their son Eddie, Jr., and Evelyn Grove Seely (daughter from Grove's first marriage to sweet Mary Louisa Moore Grove) became the will-decreed co-owners and beneficiaries of the trust income from the Grove Park Inn operations. Gertrude Grove subsequently sued for widow's rights (contrary to the prohibitive terms of Edwin Grove's will) to force the other parties to buy her out of the Grove Park Inn property.

Nelder Grove, formerly known as Fresno Grove when it was within a much larger 19th-century Fresno County, is a Giant sequoia grove located in the western Sierra Nevada within the Sierra National Forest, in Madera County, California. The grove is a tract containing over 100 mature Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) trees. It also contains a number of sequoia stumps, remaining from when the grove's ancient trees were logged in the late 1870s to 1890s, before being protected by its United States Forest Service acquisition in 1928. A Sierra National Forest campground is located at the Nelder Grove.
Grove has opposed providing financial assistance to poor families struggling to afford diapers for infant children. Grove has advocated for the closure of two state developmental centers, which care for Californians with developmental disabilities. Grove became interested in the issue after learning about "abuse, neglect and lack of supervision" leading to 13 deaths at the centers, reported in an investigation by California Watch in 2013. Grove has introduced legislation to close the centers and shifting the developmentally disabled residents to nonprofit community-based care, which Grove argues will be cheaper and have stronger oversight than institutional settings.

The deer in the Grove The Grove or deer park is a large meadow which occupies most of the north west of the college's grounds, from the New Building and the Grove Buildings to Holywell Ford. During the winter and spring, it is the home of a herd of fallow deer. It is possible to view the meadow and the deer from the path between New Buildings and Grove Quad, and also from the archway in New Buildings. In the 16th century, long before the introduction of the deer, the grove consisted of gardens, orchards, and bowling greens.

The district is bordered by Ardwick to the north, Rusholme to the west, Levenshulme to the south, and Gorton to the east. Longsight is currently defined by Hyde Road, Grey Street, Stockport Road, Plymouth Grove, Daisy Bank Road, Pine Grove, Merwood Grove, Ash Grove, Longford Pl, Ayton Grove, Laindon Rd, Curzon Ave, Richmond Grove, Hathersage Road, Anson Road, Dickenson Road, Beresford Road, Old Hall Lane, Stockport Road, East Road, Pink Bank Lane, Nutsford Vale, Buckley Road and Mount Road. The old Roman road to Buxton (the A6, Stockport Road) roughly bisects the area.
To the south, Gatley borders onto Heald Green, with Grasmere Road and Yew Tree Grove marking the southern boundary. To the west and north-west, it meets Wythenshawe (part of Manchester), with roads bordering onto Hollyhedge Park (i.e. Ogden Grove, Malverne Avenue, Charnville Road, Cranston Grove, Mount Grove and 99 Altrincham Road) being the last in Gatley, and Longley Lane and the M56 motorway marking the north-western boundary. Gatley is 130–200 feet above sea level.
In 2012, Favre became the offensive coordinator for Oak Grove High School. Favre won his first game as part of the Oak Grove coaching staff by a score of 64–6. In December 2013, with Favre still serving as the offensive coordinator, Oak Grove High School won the Class 6A Mississippi high school state championship. Following the closure of the Gona Barracks in 1998, the site was used as the basis of an urban renewal program resulting in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village which integrates the Kelvin Grove campus of Queensland University of Technology with residential and commercial buildings. The Kelvin Grove Urban Village was officially opened by Queensland Premier Peter Beattie on 24 November 2003. Queensland Academy for Creative Industries opened in 2007. In the , Kelvin Grove had a population of 7,927 people.
The Kew Gardens station was built on the site of a station named Hopedale, which operated from 1875 to 1884 and served the Maple Grove Cemetery nearby. Another station named Maple Grove was built even closer to the cemetery in 1879. The station closed in 1909 as the LIRR was rerouted onto a more direct alignment with the construction of the Maple Grove Cut-Off. Maple Grove was replaced by the current Kew Gardens station in 1910.

The area that is now Grove Hill was originally inhabited by Creek and Choctaw Indians. The county seat of Clarke County was established at what later became Grove Hill in 1832 as the spot was most central to the rest of the county. Known variously as Smithville, then Macon, the name Grove Hill was selected around 1850 for the large grove of oak trees on the plateau. The town was officially incorporated and chartered in 1929.

The village was named after H. B. Howard, a hotelier and postmaster. Howards Grove began as two unincorporated communities: Millersville and Howards Grove. They united as one village in 1967, forming the longest municipality name in the state (Howards Grove–Millersville), before it was shortened to Howards Grove by referendum in 1972. The Tony Grove Ranger Station Historic District, in Cache County, Utah near Logan, Utah, was listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The listing included three contributing buildings and a contributing site on . It is located off U.S. Route 89, about northeast of Logan, Utah in Cache National Forest. It has also been known as Tony Grove Memorial Ranger Station, or Tony Grove Nursery, or Tony Grove Ranger District.
The most notable event that takes place in Fair Grove each year is the Fair Grove Heritage Reunion. This always takes place the last full weekend in September. This festival has its roots with the original Fair Grove Fair in the early 1900s and 1910s, and more recently with the Fair Grove Arts and Crafts Festival which started in 1978. Dan and Betty Manning organized a gathering of 12 local craftsmen to sell their wares on the square.

In February 2016, a high pitched noise was heard at night in Forest Grove, Oregon. The Department of Forestry determined that their equipment was not the cause of the sound. The noise was first shared with Dave Nemeyer by a Forest Grove resident, who posted a video of it on the city's Facebook page.
Following the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882, the pace of immigration from Japan increased rapidly. In Walnut Grove, the first Japanese-owned business (a noodle shop) was started in 1896 to serve local immigrants. The local Japanese immigrants called the area around Walnut Grove Kawashimo ("downriver"), in reference to travel through the Sacramento Delta area. The earliest Japantown in Walnut Grove was established in the northern section of the existing Walnut Grove Chinatown.

The original name of Orange Grove was Lemoen Plaas, Afrikaans for Orange Farm, as the description of the area and its original use prior to development and incorporation into the city of Johannesburg. The orange trees of what became Orange Grove were planted by J.C.Esterhusen. His daughter was married to another Viljoen whose farmhouse became the original once-famous Orange Grove Hotel, located in the suburb. By 2004 new laws were passed requiring school districts with enrollments below 350 to consolidate with other school districts. Oak Grove experienced a growth in its population beginning in the 1970s as families from nearby Hattiesburg moved to the community. After the Dissolution, Sedgehill manor was bought by Thomas Arundell of Wardour Castle (c. 1502 – 1552) and then in 1573 by William Grove (died 1582) who was briefly MP for Shaftesbury. Valley Grove Church traces its beginnings to the mid-1850s, when Norwegian immigrants in a settlement alternately called Tyske Grove or German Grove (only later Valley Grove) first held religious services in their log homes and outdoors. An orange grove, known as the Temple Grove, stood on the south side of Palmer Avenue just east of Temple Drive. The temple orange was grown on the old Wyeth grove on Palmer Avenue (later Temple Grove) owned at the time by Louis A. Hakes, whose son was the first to notify Temple of the different quality of the new orange. The orange was introduced and cataloged by Buckeye Nursery in 1917, the year W. C. Temple died. Myron E. Carter's Grove, also known as Carter's Grove Plantation, is a plantation located on the north shore of the James River in the Grove Community of southeastern James City County in the Virginia Peninsula area of the Hampton Roads region of Virginia in the United States. The plantation was built for Carter Burwell, grandson of Robert "King" Carter, and was completed in 1755. It was probably named for both the prominent and wealthy Carter family and nearby Grove Creek. Carter's Grove Plantation was built on the site of an earlier tract known as Martin's Hundred which had first been settled by the English colonists around 1620.
The railroad had been built primarily as a transportation line to enable shipping of bituminous coal from the rich coalfields of southwestern Virginia and southern West Virginia. But it also connected Williamsburg, as well as James City and Warwick counties, with the expanding transcontinental railroads of the country. Passenger and freight services were provided, and stations were built along the line, including one at Grove Station, a few miles north and east of Kingsmill near the adjacent Carter's Grove Plantation at Grove, Virginia. The section from Shallcross Wharf Road to MD 444 is the original alignment of the Kentmore Park Road portion of MD 444. The highway was improved in 1939 and brought into the state highway system as a northward extension of that route in 1942. After US 213's bypass of Locust Grove was built in 1950 and 1951, the old path of US 213 through Locust Grove--Shallcross Wharf Road between the western end of the bypass and the center of Locust Grove, and Old Locust Grove Road between the center of Locust Grove and the eastern end of the bypass--became part of MD 444, with the eastern section being a spur of the main route. After MD 444's present course west of Locust Grove was constructed in 1968, Old Locust Grove Road became MD 447 and Shallcross Wharf Road between US 213 and the new MD 447 became MD 449.
