The daughter of a frontier tycoon, she is a pacifist, but was forced to join the militia for the sake of her family's honor. Fundamentally opposed to war, she finds killing loathsome but she will set aside her pacifism to protect her friends and comrades. In the anime version, she is a friend of Alicia within the Bruhl Town Watch and joins the Gallian Militia along with her. ; :Voiced by: Miyuki Kawashou :Lynn is a 20-year-old Darcsen shocktrooper and one of the unlockable characters in the game.

An ambitious 29-year-old at the forefront of the Imperial invasion, Maximilian is an Imperial prince, second in line of succession to the Imperial throne, and absolute commander of the Empire's occupation forces in Gallia. His strategies revolve around using massive force to crush the Gallian opposition, including super weapons such as huge land battleships and Selvaria's Valkyrian abilities.

In the anime version, it is revealed that Maximilian named Selvaria after a blue flower of the same name. After being captured by Gallian forces in Ghirlando, Selvaria sacrifices herself, annihilating the fortress and most of Gallia's main forces with it. :She is recruitable as a hidden character in Valkyria Chronicles II. Selvaria is known to be in the game as a pre-order bonus. Selvaria later appears as an antagonist character in the crossover title Project X Zone, opposing Kurt, Riela and Imca from Valkyria Chronicles III.

He boards the Dandarius along with Townshend, who is now more of a hostage, and tries to flee. Avan sees them and orders Class G to battle them. He uses his bird Jarde to send a letter to Cordelia (who has regained the title of Archduchess) to mobilize the Gallian Navy and attack the Dandarius. At the harbour, Class G fights Dirk, but when they are about to lose Aliasse turns into a Valkyria, saying that Class G are her friends and she will not let Dirk hurt them.

Unknown to them, a plot is launched as a publicity stunt "proving" that they are actually married. Outraged, Linda becomes engaged to the bumbling Jim Montgomery (William Brisbane), much to the chagrin of both Peters and Arthur Miller (Jerome Cowan), her manager, who secretly launches more fake publicity. Peters and Keene, unable to squelch the rumor, decide to actually marry and then immediately get divorced. Linda begins to fall in love with her husband, but then discovers him with another woman, Lady Denise Tarrington (Ketti Gallian), and leaves before he can explain.

When Gallian's contract with Nottinghamshire expired at the end of 2007, he signed a two-year contract with Essex. Essex chose to give Gallian a contract to provide experience to their young squad. David East, the club's chief executive, said "He has a very impressive record and his vast experience will greatly assist our young and exciting batsmen to develop over the next few years. Jason is very excited about this next stage in his career and is looking forward to joining what he describes as a young and vibrant squad that is going places".

The characters of the Valkyria Chronicles games were designed by Raita Honjou. For Valkyria Chronicles, the developers aimed for a "rustic" look due to the game's use of the PlayStation 3's CANVAS engine. During the early development process, Raita based his designs more directly on examples from World War II, however they proved to be too modern for what the developers wanted to achieve. Thus, Raita aimed for a motif closer to that found in World War I, first creating Alicia and Welkin's concept illustrations and using them as a basis for the rest of the Gallian cast.

In the Japanese version, his given name was originally Karl, but was changed in the English version to Johann to avoid confusion with Karl Landzaat, a Gallian Militiaman who is also an Engineer. :In the anime, Johann/Karl's occupation is changed to a second lieutenant who is assigned as deputy to Selvaria Bles by Imperial High Command as part of a plot. He becomes loyal to the Drei Stern after Jaeger and Bles save him during an assassination attempt against Maximilian. He later confronts Maximilian in anger over the latter's lack of remorse to Selvaria's death.

Despite this, Kluivert continued to apply his military skills as a Gallian Army staff officer for many years, eventually leading to his selection as head of Lanseal. :In order to gain power to defend Gallia, Kluivert brought Foerster to the academy and together they formed Project Vahalla, providing her with students that were adequate enough to undergo her experiments and become Valkyrur. After Dirk stole all of the project's data, Kluivert's secrets are exposed to Avan and Hubert. Feeling that Lanseal had lost the war, he locks himself up alone in one of the laboratories and commits suicide by shooting himself.

The Sicherman dice were discovered by George Sicherman of Buffalo, New York and were originally reported by Martin Gardner in a 1978 article in Scientific American. The numbers can be arranged so that all pairs of numbers on opposing sides sum to equal numbers, 5 for the first and 9 for the second. Later, in a letter to Sicherman, Gardner mentioned that a magician he knew had anticipated Sicherman's discovery. Private Jimmy (Cole Gallian real self) (John Ferrell False Memory) was a Blue Team Simulation Trooper who was chosen to be the original host body of the Alpha. Not much was known of his past except that he had a girlfriend back home and that he was brought to Sidewinder by Captain Flowers who tells him that he is the 'final piece of a very complex puzzle,' and that the future would see him as the unsung hero of their story. To his horror he was restrained and violently implanted with the Alpha. Jimmy was later killed in the first season of Red vs Blue by Caboose.

He earned media attention in 1991 when he determined the methods used by Minnesota and many other states for assigning drivers' license numbers.. Between 1977 and 2019, Gallian ran forty Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The number 3 batting position had been troublesome for England for some time. England had tried all manner of combinations at No.3, from the left-field Jason Gallian to the veteran Robin Smith, via the temperamentally suspect pairing of Graeme Hick and Mark Ramprakash. "A lot is made of your batting position," Hussain recalled to Cricinfo, "but I always felt, and I did back then when David Lloyd rang me up and asked me to bat No.3, that if you're good enough to be playing Test cricket, you should be good enough to move from No.5 to No.3". Hussain scored 128 in the first innings.

An opening partnership of 178 gave Nottinghamshire the edge, and despite losing Anurag Singh for a duck, they were only trailing by thirteen runs at stumps. New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming then had a blast for Nottinghamshire. With everything going wrong for Surrey, they just couldn't find any bite, conceded 26 runs off no-balls, and were penalised five runs for ball-tampering, while Fleming smashed 238 runs for his third double-century of his career. With partnerships of 150 runs or more with both Gallian and Australian David Hussey, all the Surrey bowlers were smashed, as Nottinghamshire eased their way to 580 for 4 at stumps on day 2 and eventually 692 for 7 declared.

Together with their fellow squad members, these three are tasked to fight against a mysterious, primarily Darcsen Imperial unit known as Calamity Raven. As the Nameless officially do not exist, the upper echelons of the Gallian Army exploit the concept of plausible deniability in order to send them on missions that would otherwise make Gallia lose face in the war. While at times this works to their advantage, such as a successful incursion into Imperial territory, other orders cause certain members of the 422nd great distress. One such member, Gusurg, becomes so enraged that he abandons his post and defects into the ranks of Calamity Raven, attached to the ideal of Darcsen independence proposed by their leader, Dahau.

This is short-lived, however, as following Maximilian's defeat, Dahau and Calamity Raven move to activate an ancient Valkyrian super weapon within the Empire, kept secret by their benefactor. Without the support of Maximilian or the chance to prove themselves in the war with Gallia, it is Dahau's last trump card in creating a new Darcsen nation. As an armed Gallian force invading the Empire just following the two nations' cease-fire would certainly wreck their newfound peace, Kurt decides to once again make his squad the Nameless, asking Crowe to list himself and all under his command as killed-in-action. Now owing allegiance to none other than themselves, the 422nd confronts Dahau and destroys the Valkyrian weapon.

Gallian has won both the Allendoerfer and Evans awards for exposition from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and was the Pólya lecturer for the MAA from 1999 to 2001. His excellence in teaching earned him the Haimo Award for distinguished teaching from the MAA in 1993 and he was the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Minnesota Professor of the Year in 2003. In 2019 he received the MAA's Mary P. Dolciani Award for making a distinguished contribution to the mathematical education of K-16 students in the United States or Canada. In 2011 he received the MAA's Yueh-Gin Gung and Dr. Charles Y. Hu Distinguished Service to Mathematics Award.

In 1989, Enrico Garff went to live quite close to the Colosseum here he founded the Gruppo Zuleika, Colourists of New Intuition, together with Romeo Mesisca, a disciple of Renato Guttuso in collaboration with two other artists. In the daily paper l’ Unità, he wrote a very positive article on all of the artists in the Zuleika Group and in particular he praised the transparent poetry of Enrico Garff's landscapes and the interiors of Romeo Mesisca.

Nottinghamshire (20pts) beat Gloucestershire (1.5pts) by an innings and 64 runs Ten wickets fell on the first day at Trent Bridge, and twenty on the second, as Nottinghamshire recorded a victory to extend their hold on Division One of the County Championship. Batting first, they lost openers Jason Gallian and Darren Bicknell early on to be 16 for 2, and after a 27-run third-wicket stand Steve Kirby trapped Younis Khan lbw for 12. However, Russell Warren and David Hussey rebuilt, and Hussey went on to smash a four-and-a-half-hour 157, his third Championship century of the season, as Nottinghamshire made a total of 336. The first day's play ended when the last Nottinghamshire wicket fell, after 82.4 overs, and Gloucestershire were then penalised 1.5 points for their slow over rate.

Glamorgan's number five Mike Powell made 62 as the only Glamorgan batsman to pass 25, but left-armer Greg Smith got him and three others out to finish with four for 28 off 17 overs. Glamorgan's final total was 151, and Nottinghamshire matched that for the loss of only two wickets at the close of the first day, despite losing opener Jason Gallian for a duck. On the second, only 33 overs of play were possible, but Nottinghamshire still added 80 before Darren Bicknell was dismissed for 123.

Welkin Gunther, a college student and son of the First Europan War hero General Belgen Gunther, Isara Gunther, a brilliant Darcsen mechanic and Welkin's foster sister, and Alicia Melchiott, a baker and member of the Bruhl Townwatch, get involved in the war when the Imperials invade Gallia to secure its rich Ragnite deposits. After managing to escape their hometown Bruhl after the Imperials captured it, the three of them join Squad 7 of the Gallian Militia to help free their country from the Empire. The theme song, is performed by Catherine St. Onge, as winner of the Animax Anison Grand Prix competition, under her chosen moniker of Himeka; the original score for the anime is composed and conducted by the game's composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. Her CD single has been released on May 27, 2009.

While at MIT, Kane was one of four people since 2003 (and one of eight in the history of the competition) to be named a four-time Putnam Fellow in the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.Joseph A. Wharf's century meant that Nottinghamshire's winning target was 176, and fifties from Jason Gallian and Russell Warren carried Nottinghamshire past the target and onto the top of the Championship table with eight wickets in hand.

However, the sudden news of Leon's death in December 1936 ignites his passion, after which he enrolls at Lanseal and is assigned to Class G. After his graduation, Avan travels throughout Gallia, helping to restore towns that were destroyed during the war.
