France 24 journalist saw on the ground at least four FSA vehicles making their way to the frontline. Video obtained by France 24 later showed the FSA overrunning the former military base in Bab Drib district. At least four government soldiers were killed in the assault. The next day, it appeared that another military checkpoint fell to the FSA.

Syed Ghulam Hussain Shah Bukhari was born in 1932 in a village Drib Chandia, Qambar Shahdadkot, Pakistan. He is a Naqshbandi Sufi saint. He received religious education from his father, Syed Gul Muhammad Shah, his other teachers were Khushi Muhammad Tunio, Ghulam Muhammad Chandio and Ali Gohar Mastoi. In 1980, he built a masjid and madrassa titled Dargah Hussainabad where religious education and accommodation is free of all political associations.

262x262px Tsomon Ling, Tsomonling, Tsome Ling, Chomoling ( or Tsho smon gling - pronounced 'Tsemonling') is a temple in inner Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, south of the Ramoche Temple, and on the corner of one of the main roads, Dekyi Shar Lam. It was one of the Four Royal Colleges or Regency Temples (Ling Shi or gLing bzhi) of Lhasa built during the 17th century after the Fifth Dalai Lama assumed both temporal as well as spiritual power. The other three Ling are Tengye Ling, Kunde Ling, and Drib Tsemchok Ling.Dowman (1988), p. 61.

The Syrian Al-Watan newspaper reported that 37 rebel fighters were killed in the fighting in Homs. Video footage was posted online reportedly showing a captured government BMP-1, being used in Homs by the FSA's forces. It bears two flags of the Syrian opposition, and is seen firing with armed men in civilian clothes backing it up, and taking cover behind it. The Free Syrian Army assaulted on, 1 February, the government- controlled district of Bab Drib, which was used as a staging post for Syrian army raids and shelling of other districts such as Karm Al Zeitoun.

Some of the villains in V.I.L.E. were designed from other Broderbund employees: Carmen was modeled after Marsha Bell, the company's manager of marketing services, while the villain "Katherine Drib" was an anagram of Bird's name. Others were named based on puns, such as "Ken U. Sparadigm" for "can you spare a dime". The game would now require the player to start as a recruit for ACME, and work their way up by locating the henchmen within V.I.L.E., until finally they were ready to track Carmen. As they worked their way up, they would have less in-game time to find the crook, and the geographic trivia would become harder.

The Four Royal Colleges or Ling Shi were Tengye Ling, and Kunde Ling to the south and east of Chokpori () are both within the old, but now destroyed, Lingkor, the pilgrim path wound its way for around Lhasa. The others were Drib Tsemchok Ling which has now disappeared but was located west of the Lhasa bridge, on the southern bank of the Kyi Chu or Tsangpo River, and Tsomon Ling itself. The four Ling were built with Chinese patronage by the Dalai Lamas' Regents. The Gelugpa Lama-Regent who ruled during the minority of the Dalai Lama was normally picked from among the abbots of these colleges.
