This means that a fully switched network is a collision-free environment. The core function of a switch is to allow each workstation to communicate only with the switch instead of with each other. This in turn means that data can be sent from workstation to switch and from switch to workstation simultaneously. The core purpose of a switch is to decongest network flow to the workstations so that the connections can transmit more effectively; receiving transmissions that were only specific to their network address.
There are provisions for parking 1,500 to 2,000 two- wheelers and 60 cars on the premises of the bus terminus. A two-level underground two-wheeler parking lot was mooted in 2008 to decongest the entrance for the buses, which jostle for space with two-wheelers and cars. Initially, the project cost was estimated at 90 million. The underground parking project was taken up based on a study that estimated that the number of motorcycles parked there would be increased to 3,000 a day in the future.
The construction of the Addis Ababa Ring Road was initiated in 1998 to implement the city master plan and enhance peripheral development. The Ring Road was divided into three major phases that connect all the five main gates in and out of Addis Ababa with all other regions (Jimma, Bishoftu, Dessie, Gojjam and Ambo). For this project, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) was the partner of Addis Ababa City Roads Authority (AACRA). The Ring Road has greatly helped to decongest and alleviate city traffic.
The Mayor Democrito D. Plaza II Avenue (Also known as Butuan City Bypass Road) is a 15.5-kilometre (9.6 mi), two-to-four lane national secondary highway in Butuan City. It serves as a diversion road from the Butuan–Cagayan de Oro–Iligan Road. This highway is designated as the National Route 951 (N951) of the Philippine highway network. This 15.5-kilometre highway was constructed along with the Macapagal Bridge which aims to decongest traffic along the Agusan-Misamis Oriental Road in downtown Butuan.
In 2016, Payumo revived the proposal again, pitching the bridge as means to decongest traffic in Metro Manila and boost the economy. Comparing the proposed bridge to the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, Payumo has noted that commuters in Cavite and other parts of Southern Luzon do not need to pass through Metro Manila to reach Central Luzon if such bridge would be built. China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) began its onsite study as preparation for the possible construction of the bridge in late 2017. Its team first visited the coastal towns in Bataan.
In 2014, considering to decongest the shed and upgrade, the Railway Board sanctioned funds to home 50 more locos than its present capacity to accommodate the new generation Electromotive diesel (EMD) engines along with the conventional ones. During September 2015, in order to achieve fuel efficiency, the railways has been promoting use of B–5, a 5% blended biodiesel as against normal high-speed diesel. Hence a storage facility has been proposed for the same to use in its locos. A storage facility along with blending facility was commissioned for use.

This strategy is intended to harmonize the two carriers in order to make them more competitive, ensure leadership and superior core services, and enhance the efficiency and profitability of both carriers. In 2016, the airline signed a letter of intent with Bombardier for orders of up to 12 Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 aircraft in a two-class 86-seat configuration. On December 16, 2016, PAL Express began its Caticlan, Busuanga and Basco services from its Clark hub. These alternate route operations were launched to decongest traffic on their Manila hub.
Given the space constraints of Mumbai, the city development planning agency CIDCO was set up to develop townships that would decongest the city. In 1990, CIDCO invited applications for four plots to be allotted to educational trusts in Panvel , a pastoral area 40 km from Mumbai. This saw the Mahatma Education Society establish the Mahatma School of Academics and Sports, and bring urban amenities and standards of teaching to a region that has barely any infrastructure. The school runs the SSc and HSC state board programmes and the national CBSE programme, for over 3,000 students.
With the aim to decongest traffic in the city's downtown area, then mayor Michael Rama proposed in 2015 the transfer of the Cebu City Hall to the South Road Properties and convert the said building into a museum as it was close to significant historical landmarks of the city such as the Basilica del Santo Niño, Magellan's Cross, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, Fort San Pedro, Plaza Independencia, and Cathedral Museum of Cebu, among others. He was taking a page on constructing a government complex from Putrajaya which is Malaysia's seat of government.
In February 1992, the first indigenous Local Government Chairman A.C.P. Juri Babang Ayok (rtd.), announced in January 1992 the plans of moving the same market to a neutral site where all indigenes and settlers would be free to trade, thereby reducing Hausa monopoly and also decongest the old market with its unhygienic conditions due to the smallness of its area. This move being unpopular to the Muslim northern settlers served as a fuel to rising tensions between them and their Atyap hosts who welcomed the initiative for a market move.
Marking the initial days of the railways in the Indian Subcontinent, the Madras Railway Company began to network South India in 1856. The first station was built at Royapuram, which remained the main station at that time. Expansion of the Madras Railways network, particularly the completion of the Madras–Vyasarpadi line, called for a second station in Madras, resulting in Madras Central coming into being. Madras Central was built in 1873 at Parktown as a second terminus to decongest the Royapuram harbour station, which was being utilised for port movements.
The Periperal Ring Road (PRR) of Bangalore, India, is a ring road that runs around most of the perimeter of the city, which is outside of Outer Ring Road of Bangalore. This 65-kilometre-long road is being developed by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). The reason for creating the PRR was to decongest the Outer Ring Road which currently acts as a by-pass to the city with more than 10,000 trucks using it. According to BDA's project report, with the immense growth in intra-city traffic, the ORR is under tremendous pressure already.
The avenue became eight-laned in the 1950s and the 1960s westward and linked with the national road. Later, the interchange with Kifissou Avenue was added and took months to complete; later the Thivon Avenue interchange was added, both with two exiting lanes and two left lanes for staying on Athinon Avenue to decongest traffic. Between 1991 and 1993, the eastbound interchange and westbound entrance with the Konstantinopouleos Avenue began construction and resulted to shut off parts of Athinon Avenue and Achilleos Streets. The road detoured through Palamidou Street.
Due to rapid development in the past decade, government has planned to decongest the Coimbatore City roads. The State Highways Department has decided to develop Peelamedu–Kalapatti- Saravanampatty and Kurumbapalayam Road into a Ring road. According to the Highways sources, the 12-km stretch from SITRA Junction in Peelamedu would run through Kalapatti and join Sathyamangalam Road at Saravanampatti and then it would join Mettuppalayam Road at Thudiyalur. On completion of this stretch the Sathy Road in Ganapathy area will have option of diverting through either sides i.e.
In 1927, HeetderksCummings: Otolaryngology: Head & Neck Surgery, 4th ed described the alternating turgescence of the inferior turbinates in 80% of a normal population. According to Heetderks, the cycle is the result of alternating congestion and decongestion of the nasal conchae or turbinates, predominantly the inferior turbinates, which are by far the largest of the turbinates in each nasal fossa. Turbinates consist of bony projections covered by erectile tissue, much like the tissues of the penis and clitoris. The turbinates in one fossa fill up with blood while the opposite turbinates decongest by shunting blood away.
The SLEX Toll Road 4, also referred to as Toll Road 4 (or simply TR4), is a extension of South Luzon Expressway from Calamba (near its boundary with Santo Tomas, Batangas) to Lucena. Construction will be divided into five segments, with one additional extension to Mayao in Lucena on the revised project outline. The extension project is implemented by the Toll Regulatory Board and will be operated by the South Luzon Tollway Corporation (SLTC). The extension would decongest the existing national road between Santo Tomas and Lucena, and provide a modern alternate route for travellers from Quezon to the Bicol Region.

NIMZ of approx. 13500 acres and the HAL Helicopter manufacturing facility (Nr Gubbi) 610 acres will be developed as integrated industrial townships with state-of- the art infrastructure and land use on the basis of zoning; clean and energy efficient technology; necessary social infrastructure; skill development facilities, etc.
They want Nograles to forward the letter to the President after the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas failed to do so. The berthing area, he said, can ease the congestion at the port and the roads can decongest the traffic around the area. In can be recalled that the declaration of Malacañang sa Sugbo by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2005 includes the occupation of the port road which was regularly used by truckers and motorists and the berthing area was used by shipping lines. However, the building, the road, and the port were left idle.
The Davao River Bridge, part of the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway. The airport is connected to the city via the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway. The 4-laned La Verna-Mamay Bypass Road was constructed and finished in 2017 near the airport to decongest traffic going from Mamay road to the airport and beyond and vice versa, by avoiding the usually busy intersection of Mamay Road and the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway. To avoid widening a road, which would displace houses and creep onto the airport's site, the road splits into two for 600 meters then merges back.
The College was at loggerheads with the Pune Municipal Corporation over the proposed construction of a flyover in front of the college, that would not only deface the renovated Main Hall but would also encroach upon the College's premises. The College and its alumni were of the opinion that the flyover would not, in any way, decongest the traffic plying through that road. It also considered the flyover as serious danger to the safety of the pedestrians, including students, as it was not considered in the plan of the flyover. Many civic activists and organisations supported the College's opinion.
Two bypass roads were constructed during the early 2000s to decongest the Maharlika Highway and to spur new developments outside the downtown area. The 10.3-kilometer Felipe Vergara Highway provides a direct route to Cagayan Valley, while Emilio Vergara Highway links Santa Rosa to Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road, avoiding traffic bottleneck along Maharlika Highway. Cabanatuan was served by the Manila Railroad Company in 1905 through the Balagtas–Cabanatuan line which was abandoned after the war because scavengers looted pieces of the rail tracks. Rail service was resumed in 1969 after the rehabilitation of the rail tracks as mandated by a government order.
Chheoki has three platforms that are high- level platforms and one UTS. It is divided into two corridors with the North-South corridor connecting Munshipulia to CCS International Airport and the East-West corridor connecting Charbagh Railway Station to Vasant Kunj. This will be the most expensive public transport system in the state but will provide a rapid means of mass transport to decongest traffic on city roads. Construction of the first phase will be complete by March 2017. The completion of metro rail project is the primary object of Uttar Pradesh government currently headed by the chief minister Yogi Adityanath On 5 September 2017, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and CM Yogi Adityanath showed green flag to the Lucknow Metro.
In an effort to decongest the traffic at the Chennai Central railway station, Egmore was announced as the second terminal, and the railways has decided to make Tambaram as the third terminal so that the trains from southern districts could halt there. The station's proximity to the Central Warehousing Corporation's godown located at Chitlapakkam makes it technically important. Four railway lines exist between Chennai Beach and Tambaram, two for up and down long distance trains and two for up and down suburban services. However, only two rail lines exist between Tambaram and Chengelpet, which are not enough to meet the growing demand of the section let alone its future requirements.

The building houses the Automotive/Driving and Electricity classes at the ground floor, including the garage for the class vehicles, while a gym (Gym 3) occupied the second floor. In 2005, a model home was built by the back of the original building to house the Cooking and Sewing classes.
Vashi railway station at Navi Mumbai which served as a model for Anand Vihar station The new terminal was developed to decongest the New Delhi Railway Station, Delhi Junction (Old Delhi) and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The terminal is modeled on the lines of the Vashi station at Navi Mumbai. The new terminal also helped to relieve congestion on roads into New Delhi, reducing the load of a million people daily entering the city. The railway terminal is integrated with the Anand Vihar Interstate Bus Terminal (Vivekanand Bus Terminal) and the Anand Vihar station of the Delhi Metro located close by, thus transforming it into a major transportation hub of Delhi.
On December 8, 2017, the city government opened the market's new vegetable section, selling vegetables brought straight from farms in Benguet. Inaugurated by Estrada along with Benguet governor Crecenscio Pacalso, the section ultimately aims to bring down the cost of vegetables sold in the city. Incorporated into the structure's rear is a fish port, which would allow the market to directly receive fresh seafood from Navotas and produce from other parts of the country, as well as a ferry terminal. Constructed with the assistance of the Philippine Ports Authority, the ferry terminal's construction is expected to help decongest Quezon Boulevard and surrounding roads with the impending revival of the Pasig River Ferry Service.
The Coimbatore Bypass refers to a series of bypasses connecting the various National Highways and State Highways passing through and originating in the South Indian city of Coimbatore. The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation is undertaking the construction of six rail-over-bridges in the city. In 2008, the State Highways Department came up with a proposal to create a Ring Road passing through Peelamedu Road, Kalapatti Road, Saravanampatty Road and Kurumbapalayam Road to help decongest Avanashi Road, Mettupalayam Road and Sathyamangalam Road. The 12 km road would extend from the South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) Junction in Peelamedu, going through Kalapatti Road and connect Sathyamangalam Road at Saravanampatty and then it would connect Mettuppalayam Road at Kurumbapalayam.
Damage on a bridge in the Ibaan – Batangas City boundary caused by Typhoon Nina (Nock-ten) required the closure of the Ibaan – Batangas City segment for bridge repairs, and diverting traffic to the parallel national roads. With increasing traffic demand in the Batangas City – Bauan area and the Batangas Bay area, proposals to extend the expressway are laid out to decongest the existing routes through those areas. Two projects are proposed to extend the expressway to barangay Pinamucan, within Batangas City, and to the municipality of Bauan. Like the North Luzon Expressway and SLEX before the construction of Skyway Stage 3, STAR Tollway is separate from the SLEX network despite being connected with SLEX since 2010.
The system exists to help decongest the regular courts and works mostly as "alternative, community- based mechanism for dispute resolution of conflicts," also described as a "compulsory mediation process at the village level." Throughout the Philippines the Barangay Justice Systems handles thousands of cases a year. Since officials have more flexibility in decision-making, including from complex evidence rules, and receive some resources from government, the courts are more numerous and accessible than other courts and therefore the courts are able to hear more cases and to respond more immediately. The Katarungang Pambarangay share characteristics with similar traditional, hybrid courts in other countries such as the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Nigeria and South Africa, among others.
Sarai Kale Khan Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) is a major bus terminus complex in Delhi, India catering to bus services to Haryana and Rajasthan states. Built to decongest the over-crowded Kashmere Gate ISBT, which was unable to bear the increase in inter-State traffic, construction of Rs. 80-crore terminus complex began in March 1996, and it was commissioned in January 2005 though it was subsequently redeveloped to handle the increased volume of passengers. Further it is aimed to integrate with the Delhi Metro Rail link coming up near Pragati Maidan and also inter-connect the bus terminus with Nizamuddin Railway Station to cater to the rising volume of passenger traffic.
He is a pioneer to start Car- free movement and promotion of non-motorised transport in Punjab state of India. His advocacy tool helped city municipal council to decongest the major commercial hub, the clock tower market area of the city Fazilka into a pedestrian by establishing India's first car free zone. Later the same concept was taken up by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the form of Sua sponte, Public Interest Litigation, and asked the authorities to identify and establish vehicle free areas in each town and city of Punjab including Sector 17 of Union Territory of Chandigarh Punjab. Chandigarh is a capital city for the state of Punjab and Haryana of India.
Following a requirement by the Army Corps of Engineers to move the road into the proposed park area, city councilwoman Angela Hunt and local activists argued that the road would cripple the planned development; tollway supporters pointed to the planned roadway's ability to decongest the undersized "Mixmaster" interchange between I-35, I-30 and US-75, and argued that attempting to move the road would require a cost-prohibitive exercise of eminent domain. In a referendum sparked by Hunt, voters narrowly approved the construction of the toll road, thanks primarily to voters in the suburban north end of the city. After the referendum controversy continued, citizens began to change their minds and the city council finally cancelled the road project in August 2017.
He proposed to create nine major parks and thirteen playing fields around the borders of the city. With sizes that varied from , the new parks were to be Levallois, Batignolles, Clignancourt, la Villette, Pré-Saint-Gervais, Charonne, Ivry, Vaugiard and Issy. Eugène Hénard also proposed the creation of nine additional parks to decongest some areas lacking green spaces: Montmartre park including part of the hill, Saint-Denis park in the 10th arrondissement, Voltaire park in the 11th arrondissement, Ménilmontant park in the 20th arrondissement, Saint- Antoine park in the 12th arrondissement, Maison-Blanche and Croulebarbe parks in the 13th arrondissement, Maine and Grenelle parks in the 15th arrondissement. These parks would be smaller than the first group, but would not be less than in area.
The closure of the road also caused traffic, especially at the nearby Pier 1 because trucks have to U-turn instead of proceeding to M.J. Cuenco Avenue as the exit. However, Verdan said that they are only interested in the port and not the building, in which under the law, BOC owns the building, while the CPA is the owner of the road and the berthing area. In 2019, the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) will soon open to traffic the road behind Malacañang sa Sugbo to decongest the area from Pier 1 to the viaduct leading to South Road Properties (SRP). The CPA also wants to convert the berthing area behind Malacañang sa Sugbo into a docking area for international cruise ships to promote tourism.
Syokimau Railway Station Major plans are being implemented in the need to decongest the city's traffic and the completion of Thika Road has given the city a much needed face-lift attributed to road's enhancement of global standards. Several projects have been completed (Syokimau Rail Station, the Eastern and Northern Bypasses) while numerous other projects are still underway. The country's head of state announced (when he opened Syokimau Rail Service) that Kenya was collaborating with other countries in the region to develop railway infrastructure to improve regional connectivity under the ambitious LAPPSET project which is the single largest and most expensive in the continent. Kenya signed a bilateral agreement with Uganda to facilitate joint development of the Mombasa-Malaba- Kampala standard gauge railway.
Due to some complaints made by some Manilan commuters regarding the entering of provincial buses from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon provinces, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim issued a memorandum known as Executive Order 13, prohibiting all provincial buses from Southern Tagalog region to enter Manila except for some cases like those coming from Northern Luzon, Bicol Region or Visayas. Another scenario also happened for the second time during Lim's second term as mayor, just to decongest traffic along Taft Avenue. The company also has been accused of breaking municipal rules by picking up passengers at stops other that its designated terminals. The Quezon City Regional Trial Court issued the writ of preliminary injunction against the Saulog group of companies who attempted to sell their stocks to other bus companies.
The Port of Batangas in 2014 was only handling 12,000 TEUs or 2.7% of its actual capacity. Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) discounts in the port and docking fees at the Batangas Port attracted more foreign and local shipping firms and incentivized them for helping decongest Manila's facilities. In 2016 it was reported that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has proposed to transfer operations of the Port of Manila to the Batangas International Port, citing the fact that most of the domestic shipping largely comes from South of Manila, saying that ship operating costs would be relatively lower if vessels were docked in Batangas City rather than in Manila. Other competing ports such as the Port of Subic Bay are also providing container storage services to ease congestion at the Manila ports.
This project decreased the traffic congestion in Aguinaldo Highway in Bacoor, so travel time from Imus to Baclaran/Pasay is lessened to only one hour. In 2013, the Kaybiang Tunnel, the country's longest underground highway tunnel at was opened along the Ternate–Nasugbu Road piercing through Mt. Pico De Loro's north ridge, and shortens the travel time from Manila to the western coves of Cavite and Nasugbu, Batangas. Last July 24, 2015, the Muntinlupa–Cavite Expressway (MCX), a long access-controlled toll expressway linking the southern province of Cavite to Muntinlupa in the Philippines, was opened to the public. The road is expected to reduce travel time by an average of 45 minutes from Daang Hari to Alabang Interchange as well as decongest traffic in Cavite, Las Piñas and Muntinlupa.

As part of the modernisation of the Mbarara-Katuna Road (2011 - 2015), a new northern bypass road is planned for the town. The bypass will start from the Coca-Cola Plant on Mbarara-Masaka Road at Makenke, pass through Rwebishuri and Nkokonjeru and join the Mbarara- Kabale Road at Katatumba Resort, about southwest of the central business district. The bypass is expected to decongest the city centre by taking the long-distance trucks destined for and coming from Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo off of Mbarara's city streets. The road is expected to cost about €170 million (US$210 million), of which the European Union is expected to lend about €122 million (US$153 million) with the government funding the balance from its own resources.
This area was annexed to Chennai in 1742 CE. Perambur is a notable railway town in the Indian Railways landscape as it is home to the Vande Bharat Express, produced at the Integral Coach Factory located here and also the presence of Chennai Rail Museum,in addition to the railway station serving to decongest the Chennai Central station by serving as a major alighting point for long distance trains passing through or terminating in the city from the North- Western end. The Perambur railway station is considered as the oldest railway station in the city after Royapuram. During the 2015 floods when most areas of Chennai was stranded in water, Perambur was the safest place available in Chennai. The water level came down rapidly and the people had their normal life restored much faster than other places in Chennai.
They promoted a concept known as excess condemnation, which would have allowed the city to capitalize on its own infrastructure investments by acquiring more land than needed for new streets and subways and in order to consolidate small parcels and sell them for redevelopment at higher values. Even more sweepingly, they sought to decongest the tenement districts and promote the development of suburban housing for the masses by building rapid- transit lines into heretofore rural areas of the outer boroughs, where private developers would build new, more salubrious housing for workers. As Manhattan Borough President, George McAneny helped secure funding from the philanthropist Olivia Slocum Sage for the restoration of New York's historic City Hall, built in 1811. He also brokered a plan that prevented City Hall from being overshadowed by a massive new courthouse in City Hall Park.

It was only after the first four cases were identified in April that Mutharika instituted new measures which included the suspension of all formal meetings, gatherings and conferences. He further directed the Malawi Prison Services and Juvenile Centres to present a list of prisoners and juveniles who committed "petty offences" including those that have served a significant portion of their sentences for moderate crimes to the Minister of Homeland Security in order to decongest the overpopulation of the country's prisons. Other measures have included the slashing of fuel prices as well as placing a waiver on the non- tourist levy to support the tourism industry, including a waiver of the resident tax on all foreign doctors and medical personnel.
Macapagal Bridge (Filipino: Tulay ng Macapagal) is a steel cable-stayed bridge along Mayor Democrito D. Plaza II Avenue (also known as the Butuan Bypass Road) in Butuan, Agusan del Norte that crosses the Agusan River. It has a length of , making it the longest bridge in Mindanao, and the second-longest cable-stayed bridge in the Philippines after the Marcelo Fernan Bridge that connects Cebu City and Mactan Island. In 2003, then-President Roh Moo-hyun sought to relocate the national capital of South Korea from the metropolitan city of Seoul to a new multifunctional administrative city in the centre of the country. The goal was to reduce the influence and dominance of Seoul on national governance and economics, whilst promoting the regional development of other areas of the country. According to the former Interior Minister Maeng Hyung-gyu in 2012, "Sejong is a symbol of the country’s efforts toward more balanced regional development," helping to decongest Seoul and spur investment in the country’s central region. Another extension to Bauan, called the Batangas City–San Pascual–Bauan Road (originally Batangas City–Bauan Toll Road), is proposed by the Department of Public Works and Highways as an alternative to the existing national road between Batangas City and Bauan. The project is expected to decongest the existing national road, whose traffic demand reached beyond capacity due to roadside establishments, industrial areas, and the Batangas Port, and increase economic development in the Batangas City–Bauan area. The proposed alignment of the toll road will start at the present terminus of STAR Tollway at barangay Balagtas, pass through the northern rural barangays of Batangas City and San Pascual, and end at the national road to Mabini at barangay Manghinao in Bauan. The proposed toll road is being constructed as an at-grade bypass only, connecting with Diversion Road, with right of way acquisition and construction works started on February 21, 2018.
The Madrid regional government, which built the M-45 motorway external to the M-40 specifically to decongest the southern and eastern spans of the older beltway, has recently aired plans to address the northern jams by effectively "closing" the M-50 ring with a tunnel under the protected area. Somewhat counterintuitively to foreigners and natives alike, the M in the road name does not indicate a hypothetical ownership of the road by the autonomous regional administration. Instead, both the M-40 and the M-50 are state-owned freeways, as shown by the white text on blue background of their signals, whereas Madrid regional motorways like the M-45 use black text on an orange background that identify them as pertaining to the "regional first order roads" category of the Spanish Traffic Code. The M-30, on the other hand, is managed by the Madrid City Council as an urban freeway.
