Yoʻldosh Aʼzamov (sometimes spelled Yuldash Agzamov in English) (; ) (May 10, 1909 – June 16, 1985) was an Uzbek actor, film director, playwright, screenwriter, and film producer. He is best known for his films Maftuningman (Delighted by You) (1958) and Oʻtgan kunlar (Days Gone By) (1967). Maftuningman is the first Uzbek comedy and is considered to be one of the greatest Uzbek films of all time. Aʼzamov is widely regarded as one of the founders of the Uzbek film making industry.

The village is built around the Green, which in days gone by was let for grazing to the butchers or smallholders. In the middle of the Green stands Leyden's Monument, which was erected in 1861 in honour of Dr John Leyden (1775–1811), poet, antiquarian and orientalist, who was born in Denholm. The monument was designed by the architect Hector H. Orrock, and sculpted by Alexander Handyside Ritchie. The Green has always been at the heart of village life.

Many city dwellers retained their country estates; however, these became hidden amidst gridiron developments. Although construction slackened during the depression, another boom was experienced after World War II. Today Newtown Township has a land area of , and a population of 12,216 individuals. Some farms and large estates remain, but for the most part, the township was developed into a suburban community with old stone homes and structures dotting the landscape to serve as reminders of days gone by.

Unlike most open-air museums, which show everyday life on the farm or in the country as it was in days gone by, the Hagen Open-Air Museum puts the history of these activities in Westphalia in the fore. From the late 18th century through the early years of the Industrial Revolution to the highly industrialized society emerging in the early 20th century, the visitor can experience the development of these trades and the industry in the region.

Clason Prairie or Clason's Prairie was a former settlement in the Town of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, United States, roughly four miles southeast of Beaver Dam. It was named after James Clason, a native of Connecticut who settled there in 1841 and died in 1848. The Amp was a channel that aired more 'Alternative' or 'Non Mainstream' music along with a selection of trip hop, downtempo, electronica, ambient videos and programming from today and days gone by. Mainly old British 'indie' bands. It was an interactive channel in the early days but this was later dropped with the takeover and it was populated with specialist TV shows talking about the careers of famous 'Alternative' Rock bands. While playing music videos back to back during the day.

Ardal O'Hanlon grew a beard for his role as Kieran and was given a scar under one eye to give his character a "more rugged look". Ros Marshall said that Cook's mock- presentation of himself as "Cook Guevara" paid homage to The Clash's Joe Strummer and "the youth cultures of days gone by", and that his Dr. Martens brogues were a reference to skinheads of the 1980s. Marshall made Cook and JJ's campaign rosettes by hand from Rizla rolling papers.

The band was initially formed in the early 2000s by singer P.J. Paslosky, guitarist Tommy Cooper and drummer Ian Kaplan. The band went on hiatus soon after but reformed in 2008. Their first release with Misra Records was These Are the Days Gone By, a collection of previously released tracks which were remastered by Carl Saff along with two unreleased tracks. The album features "Tropics of the Sand" with Kelley Deal of The Breeders and a cover of Matthew Sweet's "I've Been Waiting".

Opposite these houses is the curious church of San Miguel. Behind the salt-works are the lagoons known as Las Salinas de Cabo de Gata, as previously mentioned. Cabo de Gata has tradition of fishing, which continues to this day, and there are a number of old fishing boats that have been left along the Playa de San Miguel as artifacts of days gone by. These are said to have an important ethnological value and so are left as a "living museum".

Kanipura Temple was the original seat of the Raja of Kumbla, which was later on shifted to Maipady (Mayapuri). Even to this day one can see the ruins of the fort at Kumbla or Kotekar and Arikadi, which bears testimony to the political importance of Kumbla in the days gone by. Kanipura is only a derivative of Kanvapura. Tradition ascribes the Prathishtah of Sri Gopalkrishna Moorthi of the temple to Kanva Maharshi form whom the name of the place is derived.

The Smashing Pumpkins released a cover of "Dreaming" on their 1996 single "Bullet With Butterfly Wings." The song was also covered by Yo La Tengo for the new wave tribute album Freedom of Choice: Yesterday's New Wave Hits as Performed by Today's Stars. American rock band Green Day released a cover of "Dreaming" on May 22, 2020. The music video features the band reminiscing of days gone by, featuring footage from previous tours of the band on the road and performing live.

Like many of the old psychiatric hospitals in Ontario, the Juravinski Centre replaced the ancient and obsolete Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital. Remnants of a patchwork of old buildings, tunnels and monuments are still in service and serve as remembrance to days gone by. The film celebrates the relationship between a small girl named Emily (voiced by Emily Osborne), and her kindly but ailing grandfather (voiced by Peter Ustinov), along with a dog. James Keelaghan wrote a song about this fire entitled "Cold Missouri Waters" after being inspired by Young Men and Fire. The song was covered by Richard Shindell, Dar Williams, and Lucy Kaplansky on their album Cry Cry Cry. It was also covered by Hank Cramer in his album, Days Gone By. It was again recorded by Paul McKenna Band on their 2012 album ”Elements” and by Wolf Loescher on his 2020 album "Sheep's Clothing". Still there is much history in this sleepy community, and the traces of yesterday are still to be found. The festival includes Heritage Day, where most of the centre of the town is closed to traffic and the streets fill with arts and craft stalls and demonstrations of transport from days gone by. The festival finale is a Mardi Gras followed by a monster fireworks display Tourist attractions include two museums in the town, the Jackie Clarke Collection and Belleek Castle Museum.

This tradition takes place every first Saturday of February. In the morning young people from the village gather a whole bunch of straw taken from local farms in order to build a big straw man in the town square. In days gone by the four areas of town would each build their own Hom Strom and guard it against kids form the other areas of town in order to avoid that the latter would set their Hom Strom on fire before the beginning of the main event. In the afternoon the Hom Strom gets carried to Gurlaina (an uninhabited area of the town).

If the deceased was not a "good citizen" often the family is left to deal with the funeral on its own and no family wants this. In the days gone by, if the deceased was determined not to be a good person, or had committed abominable acts while alive, they were thrown into the "evil forest." Currently, Christianity has whittled most of this culture away. Consistent with how most cultures view death of young persons, the death of a child is particularly painful and it goes against the cultural norm for a parent to bury their child rather than vice versa.

In days gone by, the little township has boasted a café, butchers shop, a dance hall, a pub, a post office and a school. In 1960 the town itself had a population of 72 and the one-teacher school had 17 students from grade 1 to grade 8. The teachers (who boarded at the hotel) at that time were Harry Thomas followed by Henry Crowther (arguably one of the best of outback teachers). Art and dress-making were taught by Mrs Edith Pick (wife of the Postal Clerk) who was also instrumental in organising the annual Maxwelton Gymkhana (Maxwelton Races).

Zucchero tried to diminish the rhythmic section, it has percussion but not real drum kit, neither bass, because they take melodic space, while for the album's tematic wanted to leave space for more suspended rhythms. The Diving Village forms part of an ambitious plan to turn the entire "Shindagha" area into a cultural city, recreating life in Dubai as it was in days gone by. Other attractions include the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House; the Dubai Museum in the restored Al Fahidi Fort, which was erected around 1799; and the Heritage Village of Hatta, situated 115 kilometers southeast of Dubai City in the heart of the rocky Hatta Mountains. Arranged to appeal to British readers, it included only a few of his dialect poems and consisted mostly of sonnets. The poem's Scots title may be translated into standard English as "old long since" or, less literally, "long long ago", This book was purchased at Burns Cottage, and was reprinted in 1967, and 1973. "days gone by", or "old times". Consequently, "For auld lang syne", as it appears in the first line of the chorus, might be loosely translated as "for the sake of old times". The phrase "Auld Lang Syne" is also used in similar poems by Robert Ayton (1570–1638), Allan Ramsay (1686–1757), and James Watson (1711), as well as older folk songs predating Burns.

Balscadden village is said to derive its name from the Irish Baile na Scadán (The Town of the Herrings); this is odd because the village is situated at least two miles from the coast. Local tradition relates that in days gone by herrings were transported inland from a small fishing port, in the townland of Bremore, commonly called Balscadden Bay or "Cromwell's harbour." The fish was prepared at Balscadden village for transportation to the Dublin market. Balscaddan was the birthplace of Saint Benignus, who was a disciple of Saint Patrick and eventually became the Archbishop of Armagh in the 5th century.

The pews commemorate Mrs. George Hodgson, who died in 1934, and accommodate the living worshippers who, surrounded by the apostles and saints of old, and the faithful departed, complete the scheme of All Souls under the Lordship of Christ in the altar painting. Most of the plates commemorate deceased members of the Cathedral congregation, some of them familiar names from the civic and social life of Charlottetown in days gone by. One carries a portrait of Ruth Harris (1893 - 1984), a niece of Robert Harris, daughter of his youngest brother Ned, made from Robert's charcoal sketch of her when she was 24.

As a result, cafes and shops are open in this area on Sundays and holidays, which draws large crowds of both Jews and non-Jews. The album itself peaked at 48 on the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums charts, and 19 on Top Heatseekers. In early 1998, Lyube took part in a concert celebrating the famous Russian singer Vladimir Vysotsky, where they covered two of Vysotsky's hits: "On soldiers' mass graves" () and "Song about stars" (). Rastorguyev also lent his vocal talent to recording the song "Borders" () from the film "Hot spot" () and the song "There is only the moment" () from the film "The Sannikov Land" () for inclusion in the third collection of the series "Old songs about what matters" ().

Cottage Industries Exposition Ltd was established in 1978 as an export- trading house. Beyond the Indian shores, this concern for heritage is sustained by establishing emporia in Thailand, Mauritius, Indonesia, Cambodia, Africa, the Middle East, United Kingdom and the United States provide an opportunity not only to view and share the Indian heritage from the days gone by but also provide an opportunity to purchase items such as carpets, Pashmina shawls, silk, gilded artifacts, reproductions of Islamic art and miniatures. Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Carl Lewis, Bill Gates, Madonna & Paul McCartney have all been CIE clients.

They base their thesis on the assertion that the said church appears several times in documents from the 10th century, and that its location was more thoroughly described, as in 956 when it was described as being in a forest near the Cheuilinbahc (a brook now called the Kohlbach, and also likely the old name for Kübelberg, but certainly not for Schwedelbach). Therefore, Neunkirchen am Potzberg cannot be the same place as the Neunkirchen in the 937 document as was claimed by so many historians in days gone by (Widder, Frey and Gümbel among others). As early as the 15th century, this village in what is now the southern Kusel district was given up.

Local folklore refers to an abandoned lead mine under the lake, and use of the north side of the lake and the dancehall by Chicago mobsters in days gone by. In its early days extending into the middle of the 20th century, the lake was primarily a destination resort, with many waterfront cottages being lightly built primarily for summer use. Many knew of it as the location of the amusement park with its roller- coaster and other rides and a dancehall, discussed below. Shawn Reynaldo of XLR8R gave the album an 8.5 out of 10, saying, "Dark Rift proves that even DIY warehouse kids can make some first-rate dance music." Matthew Collins of PopMatters gave the album 8 stars out of 10, saying: "No song on Dark Rift may be especially fantastic, but no song on the album is anything less than great, either." "Goth Star" was placed at number 79 on Pitchforks "Top 100 Tracks of 2009" list.

Then I looked to the great editors of the newspapers whose flaming editorials in days gone by had proclaimed their love of freedom; but they, like the universities, were silenced in a few short weeks... The town's most notable feature is its historic timber lighthouse, the Old Burnett Heads Light, dating from 1873. The structure, originally sited on South Head (the southern entrance to the Burnett River), was replaced by a modern structure in 1971; the original lighthouse was restored and moved to a local park off Mittelheuser Street. It includes the original Fresnel lens. The old and the new in contrast as removal contractors John Reid crane operator and son Stephen Reid, Keith Reid crane operator and Jim O'Connor crane operator from the harbour board, lift the original Burnett Heads lighthouse from its foundation from 1873–1972 is to be re-sited beside the Burnett heads hall as a monument to days gone by.

His literary activities began in the late 1880s with a set of poems that appeared in Massis and Arevelk (Orient). His first collection of poems was published in 1890 under the title Mrmunjk (Murmurs), followed in 1892 by Anitzyale (The Cursed), a verse narrative. His most productive years were the ones in Cairo, where he wrote both prose and poetry that was later collected in various volumes, such as Keronner (Candles, 1912), Taragri me Hushatetre (Notebook of an exile, 1915), Antsatz Orer (Days gone by, 1927), and Karapi Yerki (The Swan Song, 1949). His numerous articles, memoirs, letters, and other material have been compiled in two volumes: Champus Vra (On my way) and Champus Tzayre (At the end of my way), publish in 1950 and 1955.

During World War II, Joseph Stalin (see Population transfer in the Soviet Union) ordered the deportation of Volga Germans, Chechens, Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and others to areas away from the front, including central and western Soviet Union. Some historians have estimated the number of deaths from the deportation to be as high as 1 in 3 among some populations.In one estimate, based on a report by Lavrenti Beria to Joseph Stalin, 150,000 of 478,479 deported Ingush and Chechen people (or 31.3 percent) died within the first four years of the resettlement.

Although Manuel died before The Band recorded their final three albums, two songs featuring him on lead vocals, recorded in the 1980s, were included on the first two of these albums: "Country Boy," on Jericho (1993), and "She Knows," on High on the Hog (1996). In 1994, Manuel was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Band. In 2015, he was inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame. In 2002, the Japanese label Dreamsville Records released Whispering Pines: Live at the Getaway, which contains selections from a solo performance by Manuel at The Getaway in October 1985. Robbie Robertson's "Fallen Angel" (1987), Ronnie Hawkins's "Days Gone By" (1995) and The Band's "Too Soon Gone" (1993) are all tributes to Manuel.

The regimental insignia for the Ordnance Corps is a gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches in height overall consisting of two gray antique cannons in saltire on a white disc behind an encircling scroll in the form of a buckle red belt with, between the intersecting cannons and the belt, a black antique bomb, its scarlet flames issuing at the top of the device from behind the belt, which bears the inscription "ORDNANCE CORPS U.S.A." in gold letters. It is worn on the right side of the uniform, above any unit citations. The crossed cannons are representative of the Ordnance Corps's early relationship to the Artillery. The flaming bomb, also known as the shell and flame, represents the armament of days gone by, while the energy it connotes is applicable to the weapons of our own day.

In most countries, the aircraft call sign or "tail number"/"tail letters" (also known as registration marks) are linked to the international radio call sign allocation table and follow a convention that aircraft radio stations (and, by extension, the aircraft itself) receive call signs consisting of five letters. For example, all British civil aircraft have a five-letter call sign beginning with the letter G. Canadian aircraft have a call sign beginning with C–F or C–G, such as C–FABC. Ground-effect vehicles (hovercraft) in Canada are eligible to receive C–Hxxx call signs, and ultralight aircraft receive C-Ixxx call signs. In days gone by, even American aircraft used five letter call signs, such as KH–ABC, but they were replaced prior to World War II by the current American system of civilian aircraft call signs (see below).

Varuna, named after the ancient Indian god of the heavens and the waters, a powerful deity indeed, was the home built, or rather rebuilt, on two acres of land by Eleanor Dark and Eric Dark in 1939. A bright and roomy house with modernist stucco exterior, certainly larger than any other house in the neighbourhood, it has been described by Eleanor's biographer Barbara Brooks as 'a bit of a monument.' The studio, added later, still boasts Eleanor's sprawling desk scored with cigarette burns and a custom built cabinet with a separate drawer for each developing chapter. In days gone by it has served as a focus for the local community of writers by playing host to book readings, launches, forums, festival events and, not least, some raucous and rambunctious curry nights; Dorothy Hewett holding court in the lounge room, while her husband Merv Lilley dispensed mulled wine from the tureen in the boot of his car outside.

The first single "Isolation" was released on Roadrunner's website on September 6, 2010. The song became the band's most successful song, reaching No. 1 on active rock radio and on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, a first for Alter Bridge. AB III was released in Australia and Germany on October 8, 2010 and in the United Kingdom on October 11, 2010 by Roadrunner Records and in North America on November 9, 2010 on the band's own vanity label, Alter Bridge Recordings, via EMI. The album debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. The music video for "Isolation" premiered on Noisecreep on December 6, 2010. On January 11, 2011, the band finally released its long-awaited live album and concert film, Live from Amsterdam, in stores. Also, "I Know It Hurts" was later released as the second single, in Australia only, on January 21, 2011. "Ghost of Days Gone By" was released as the next single on April 18, 2011, followed by "Wonderful Life" on June 5, 2011 in the United Kingdom.

Consequently, it is used frequently to help maintain pulse in an ensemble and is thus sometimes referred to as the "heartbeat" of the group (the bottom bass was also often referred to as the "thud" bass in days gone by, indicating that many of their notes were the last one at the end of a phrase).
