But nowadays, whether it is Jidap or Surem, one can see the Phangsla in the celebration of Bushu, especially in the urban areas.

Marin Headlands Whispers Stories of Bygone Days By, Berkeley Daily Planet, Jan. 3, 2005 While in the Marin Headlands, the Army planted a lot of trees, so many that today the non-native, invasive species that occupy the Headlands threaten the habitat of the Mission blue butterfly. The habitat protection program seeks to root out these species from selected areas of the Marin Headlands. Some of the species that have now become native to the area and threaten the habitat of the endangered Mission blue butterfly include blue gum eucalyptus, Monterey cypress, Monterey pine and blackwood acacia.

Slavery had established a measure of man and a ranking of life and worth that has yet to be undone. If slavery persists as an issue in the political life of black America, it is not because of an antiquarian obsession with bygone days or the burden of a too-long memory, but because black lives are still imperiled and devalued by a racial calculus and a political arithmetic that were entrenched centuries ago. This is the afterlife of slavery—skewed life chances, limited access to health and education, premature death, incarceration, and impoverishment. I, too, am the afterlife of slavery.

During the peak in popularity of North American passenger rail travel, long-distance trains carried two conductors: the main train conductor was accompanied by a Pullman conductor, in charge of sleeping car personnel. Many prestigious passenger train services have been bestowed a special name, some of which have become famous in literature and fiction. In past years, railroaders often referred to passenger trains as the "varnish", alluding to the bygone days of wooden-bodied coaches with their lustrous exterior finishes and fancy livery. The Jewish cemetery in Warburg Warburg had in bygone days an important Jewish community. Around the year 1800, roughly 200 of Warburg's 2,000 townsfolk were Jewish, and about 1900, some 300 of the 5,000 people in the town were. The sharp upswing in the population as a whole was due to migration from the countryside, industries setting up shop in town, and railway operations. In the 16th century, the Warburg family - originally from Venice - took the town's name as their own and moved in the second half of the 18th century to Altona (Hamburg), where the brothers Moses Marcus and Gerson Warburg built up the Bankinstitut M&M; Warburg in 1798.

He gave thanks for his survival when he reached London in May 1832 and published the account of his journeys in two volumes entitled Fifteen Months Pilgrimage through Untrodden Tracts in Khuzistan and Persia . Early in 1833 Stocqueler was back in India, but now in Calcutta where, with the help of the Bengali entrepreneur Dwarkanath Tagore, he purchased the newspaper John Bull.Dewar, Douglas, Bygone Days in India (London, 1922) p76 He changed its name to The Englishman and, as its editor, gave it a liberal focus but at times annoyed local residents. Stocqueler also published the Bengal Sporting Magazine and East India United Services Journal. In 1836, the Calcutta Public Library was established at his suggestion.

More radical elements took his idea further, expressing a yearning for the bygone days of British rule, waving colonial flags, and even advocated for Hong Kong independence, from which Chin himself draws a line. Pink is situated in the Cross Timbers, a belt of low, rolling hills that is covered by a mosaic of pastureland, rangeland, and woodland encompassing the least- disturbed forest in the U.S. Forty minutes from downtown Oklahoma City on State Highway 9 between Tecumseh and Norman, Pink is in Frontier Country, the central region of Oklahoma that was once part of the wild-and-rowdy American frontier. Although Oklahoma’s territorial frontier days have ended, the remarkable spirit of this thriving crossroads region embodies the feisty independence of bygone days. The Cross Timbers is a small and unique ecoregion that stretches from Kansas to Texas. Millions of 200 to 400-year-old trees have survived in areas unsuitable for farming.

Marisol received the Best Actress prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for her role in Los Días del Pasado (The Bygone Days). In 1856 Reuter left Treptow and established himself at Neubrandenburg, resolving to devote his whole time to literary work. His next book (published in 1858) was Kein Hüsung, a verse epic in which he presents with great force and vividness some of the least attractive aspects of village life in Mecklenburg. In conjunction with his production work, Kearns is also a songwriter, musician and recording artist. Since 2000, he has been songwriter, lead vocalist and guitarist of Blue Skies for Black Hearts, a power-pop band he formed as a studio recording outlet for his compositions. Blue Skies has had a rotating cast of musicians with Kearns being the only member to appear on all recordings. Other businesses in Waldmohr are a wholesale bakery, five sanitary businesses, three electrical speciality shops, five automotive repair shops, three building companies, a sawmill, a sculpture studio, two tiler’s businesses, two craft metalworking shops and a wholesale metalworking business.

These and similar lyrics by Azeri singers used to describe the mental imagery of the inhabitants; the image of a snow-white girl in undulating silk dress fetching crystal clear cool water from the nearby spring. Unfortunately, the unrelenting time passes its course and along takes the delight. Nowadays, bickering about petty land disputes and occasional melancholic sighs on the sweet memory of bygone days are the dominant theme of social gatherings. The adventures of late Rәcәb Kәtda -the local counterpart of Zorba the Greek- are no longer the integral part of collective narratives, Hac Zakeri and Mәşt Hәbib are deceased and with them has gone the spirit of generosity, Cәhanbәxş and Nәriman no longer are referred to as Khans, and, the deafening sound of the mills has long been silenced.

State Secretary Richard Krueger echoed the same sentiments, blaming Local Seattle's incapacitating factionalism on Mills' presence and waxing poetical about the party's bygone days: E.B. A keen historian Godsal was the author of several books, including The Storming of London and the Thames Valley Campaign a Military Study of the Conquest of Britain By the Angles. This book set out to prove that the Teutonic invaders of Britain had seized London after the Battle of Crayford before the Britons could prepare their defences and made control of the Thames waterway the main feature of their invasion. This work also hypothesized in part over why the English had chosen St George as their patron saint. Godsal suggested that after the defeat of the Norman Conquest the English, would have consoled themselves with memories of 'bygone days', in Old English, geogeara, and that the name of St George could have been confused with this echo of former glory.

He is remembered for being a big, strong, robust player, regarded as a tough man, never too far removed from controversy whether on the pitch or in the meeting room. There are one or two gaps in his CV and the men who remember those bygone days recall that there were varying degrees of clashes with officialdom which caused his omission from time to time - most notably the National Football League success of 1933 when he should have been at the height of his career. The existence of a third bilingual (Greek-Latin) collection of conciliar canons, in which Dionysius removed the spurious Canones apostolorum along with the 'African' canons and the problematic canons of Sardica, can be deduced from a preface now extant in Novara, Biblioteca Capitolare, XXX (66) (written end of ninth century in northern Italy). Unfortunately, no copies of the text of this recension have survived.

Stoyan's first glimpse of the Statue of Liberty, as illustrated in This is My Country by Edward Shelton Stoyan Christowe (Naumof) was born in Ottoman Macedonia, in the village of Konomladi, (present day Makrochori in Greece) on September 1, 1898 to Mitra and Christo Naumof as the first of three children (including a brother Vasil and a sister Mara). Born at a time when the Ottoman Empire was disintegrating, Stoyan, like many children, dreamed of being a komitadji, a freedom fighter, who would, unlike the heroes of bygone days, succeed in overthrowing what had become the oppressive, 500-year long Ottoman rule and bring freedom and liberty to Macedonia.Delphos_Daily_Herald, 1903 The 1903 St. Elijas Uprising After the failure of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising, many locals started leaving, seeking better economic life in America.

However, the diamond-cutting trade that for so many decades influenced and defined the local people's lives is now all but a relic from bygone days, with the last diamond-cutting shops going out of business in the 1990s. All that is left of the industry now are two diamond cutters who work bort diamonds for industry, and that as a secondary occupation only. Within the village, however, are no fewer than six inns, a butcher’s shop, building companies and building supply companies and small businesses such as those in the field of electrical and electronic products.

The Seng-gut implies that humans did not die in Mireuk's age. The Sunsan-chugwon narrative also describes the period rosily, as quoted below: > In the old days and old times, bygone days and bygone times, because people > ate from fruits in the trees and did not eat cooked food, at that time, the > time of Mireuk, at that time and in that age, there were two suns and two > moons. After several years in radio he moved to television broadcasting in 1994, where he was responsible for the shows on TV during the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer during February 1994. Not long after the Olympics finished, Pedersen was hired as the new commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest, representing the Norwegian broadcaster, NRK, and it was for this role he would become famous in the following decade. While his British counterpart, radio legend Terry Wogan, was known to be biased against all the nations' entries, except the British ones, Pedersen became known for his "mean-spirited" comments on the Swedish entries and entrants, and kept up the long tradition of rivalry and sarcastic comments and jokes between Norway and Sweden. In 1995, he did not return to the contest, but he rejoined the following year, and ever since 1996, he has been a permanent ingredient in the popular, annual show, and has raised the level of entertainment several degrees since the old, bygone days.

Near the turn of the 20th century, the composition of personal book tokens became recognized as a minor branch of a higher art, and there has come into fashion an entirely new class of designs which, for all their wonderful variety, bear as unmistakable a character as that of the most definite styles of bygone days. Broadly speaking, it may be said that the purely heraldic element tends to become subsidiary and the allegorical or symbolic to assert itself more strongly. Among early 20th- century English artists who have more specially paid attention to the devising of bookplates, may be mentioned C. W. Sherborn, G. W. Eve, Robert Anning Bell, J. D. Batten, Erat Harrison, J. Forbes Nixon, Charles Ricketts, John Vinycomb, John Leighton and Warrington Hogg and Frank C. Papé.
