The Driftless Area National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1989 to protect native flora and fauna, including endangered and threatened species such as the Iowa Pleistocene snail. The refuge conserves the algific talus slope habitat and other local habitat such as cold, moist sinkholes. Other glacial relict snails occur on the refuge, including the Midwest Pleistocene vertigo (Vertigo hubrichti). Rare plants include the northern blue monkshood (Aconitum noveboracense), which thrives in the same cool talus habitat as the snail.

It conserves an important watershed area composed of secondary-growth forest, grassland and coconut land in the rural village of Buenavista within the coastal municipality of Mulanay. The area was primarily set aside for watershed protection and timber production in 1937 covering approximately . In 2000, it was reestablished as a protected landscape area under the National Integrated Protected Areas System.

The conservation park was proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 in 2008. The following statement of significance appears in the park's management plan: > Minlacowie Conservation Park (28.5 hectares; proclaimed in 2008) is located > about 13 kilometres west of Stansbury. The Park was ravaged by the Ash Wednesday fires in 1983, and signs of the destruction can still be seen. Petite Terre Islands National Nature Reserve () is a reserve of the Petite Terre Islands in Guadeloupe. The reserve was established by Decree No. 98-801 of 3 September 1998 as the nature reserve for the islands of Petite Terre. It covers an area of about , which is demarcated by five points fixed with buoys, and includes a land area of with the balance as sea area. The reserve conserves terrestrial and marine habitats, and the most notable fauna are Lesser Antillean Iguana (Iguana delicatissima), as well as many species of sea turtles.

The town of Pahuatlán is located on a small level space on the side of the Ahila Mountain about 1600 meters above sea level in the Sierra Norte mountains of Puebla about fifty km from Tulancingo near the Hidalgo and Veracruz state borders. It is the center of commerce for the municipality of the same name, with a population of just over 3,000. The area conserves most of its traditional simple and austere architecture despite the lack of ordinances to that effect. The center of the town has stone paved roads.

Fulton Creek originates in the southeastern section of Edmonton, from the Fulton Marsh in the Maple neighbourhood. The Fulton Marsh is a constructed wetland, created after the original was drained in the 1990s in anticipation of the development of Maple, which started after 2010. Fulton Marsh is now a protected wetland that conserves the native flora and fauna in the area. As Fulton Creek travels its generally north-northwestern route to the North Saskatchewan River, it receives water from other smaller streams that have mostly disappeared from view.

Rondebosch Common is a National Monument and an important conservation area for the critically endangered Cape Flats Sand Fynbos vegetation. This type of fynbos exists only in Cape Town, and has become critically endangered due to the urban development which has covered most of the Cape Flats. The common also conserves a few patches of Renosterveld and a seasonal wetland, giving it a hugely varied biodiversity for such a small area. Of the hundreds of plant species that occur here, at least nine are on the Red Data List.

In October 1994, what was then called The Herschel Interpretive Centre was officially established. It was staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers and funded by individual and corporate donations, as well as a small government grant. The centre's mandate is as follows: "Ancient Echoes is a community-based project which interprets, conserves, and promotes the history, the peoples and the assets of the land forming the Eagle Creek Valley and beyond the Coal Mine Ravine in Herschel, Saskatchewan." The City of Paris conserves the two houses that Victor Hugo lived in the longest : the Rohan-Guéménée mansion in Paris and the Hauteville House in Guernsey. Hauteville House was given to the City of Paris in 1927 by the descendants of Victor Hugo. The structure of the building undertook a major renovation in 2008-9 and in 2017 an appeal was launched to pay for the renovation of internal decorations. François Pinault donated £2.6m (€3m) to renovate the interior and the house reopened on 7 April 2019.

These cities are distinguished not only for silver but for the conservation of their colonial façades and narrow streets. Zacatecas conserves many of its original structures from the colonial period such as churches, colonial government buildings and monasteries and mansions built by rich miners in pink stone. Most of these buildings were constructed in the 18th century, when the silver flowing out of the mines was at its highest.

Dives of the large emperor penguin have been recorded reaching a depth of for up to 22 minutes. Penguins either waddle on their feet or slide on their bellies across the snow while using their feet to propel and steer themselves, a movement called "tobogganing", which conserves energy while moving quickly. The park is important for the conservation of a sample of the plant and animal communities of the central west, an area which has largely been cleared and developed for agriculture. The Conimbla National Park also provides habitat for several species of threatened fauna and conserves populations of a number of plant species and communities which are now uncommon or rare because of clearing. The park contains very attractive scenery, including a number of clifflines, a small gorge and several waterfalls. These ranges and peaks are important landscape features in the district.

The Galeazzo Maria, grateful for the protection received against the bear, granted Agostino the exaction of taxes for the whole area of Varese, up to an established maximum. In 1580 the only inheritor of the family name, Angela Mozzoni, married Giovan Pietro Cicogna and founded the current branch of the family which resides in Bisuschio. The family still conserves the Villa in its original configuration, including the gardens. The gardens were commissioned by Ascanio Mozzoni in the late 16th century, who took ideas from other estates he visited in his travels.

Blaauwberg Nature Reserve was proclaimed a local and provincial nature reserve in 2007. The reserve has views down fynbos slopes, across the city, to seven kilometres of rocky and sandy coastline and the ocean and beyond. The reserve presents itself as one of the few viewpoints in the world from where you can see two proclaimed world heritage sites, namely Table Mountain and Robben Island. Blaauwberg Nature Reserve conserves three threatened vegetation types: Cape Flats dune strandveld (endangered), Swartland shale renosterveld (critically endangered) and Cape Flats sand fynbos (critically endangered).

Within the current 1,445 ha, there is evidence of early human occupation, with shell middens dating back approximately 15,000 years. The reserve also conserves the site of the 1806 Battle of Blaauwberg, when the British took possession of the Cape from the Dutch for the second time and retained ownership until South Africa’s independence. On Blaauwberg Hill, several buildings were constructed during World War II, including a radar station, a lookout and a mess room. Since the then Blaauwberg Conservation Area’s (BCA) inception, conservation in the area has progressed rapidly.

The whole was disfigured by adding, on the axis, a large Baroque shield and opening two spans, for illumination of the main chapel and a crypt. In the interior it conserves the double archery that runs the perimeter of the apse, simple blind arches of horseshoe. John Bryan Taylor (born 26 December 1928) is a British physicist known for his contributions to plasma physics and their application in the field of fusion energy. Although it conserves the shape of the minaret, that carries incrustations of borders, in 1159 it made several Christian modifications, and the construction in the end-15th century of the Gothic chapel of Santa Catalina. The tower corresponds to the minaret of the mosque, with a Baroque brick addition at the body of the bells.

In the 10th century, Torquatus' relics were translated to San Salvador de Celanova (in Celanova, Ourense). In 1592, the sepulcher at Celanova was opened and part of Torquatus’ relics were distributed to Guadix, Compostela, and Ourense, and also to El Escorial, and to the Jesuit college at Guadix, and in 1627, to Granada. The relics that remained in San Salvador de Celanova were placed in the main chapel of the church of the monastery, together with those of Saint Rudesind, the monastery’s founder. The cathedral of Guadix conserves three relics associated with Saint Torquatus: his arm, his jawbone, and his calcaneus (this last relic is not on display).

The chapel in the left of the apse, contains a Deposition and Crucifixion by brother Baldini, and conserves a 16th-century painted wooded Crucifix. The chapel has the marble mausoleum of Tommaso Caprioli (1620), a condottiero for the Republic. Over the entrance to the cloister is an Adoration by the Shepherds with Jesuits by a follower of Pietro Maria Bagnadore. Mingei International Museum reveals the beauty of use in folk art, craft and design from all eras and cultures of the world. The word mingei, meaning 'art of the people,' was coined by the Japanese scholar Sōetsu Yanagi by combining the Japanese words for all people (min) and art (gei). Yanagi's teachings awakened people to the essential need to make and use objects that are unfragmented expressions of head, heart and hands. Santa Miguel Regla Hacienda The other well-known hacienda of the area is San Miguel Regla, which is located just outside the town of Huasca, in a community also called San Miguel Regla. This hacienda was constructed by Romero in the 18th century and is also dedicated to mining. View of Church of San Francisco and its open chapel The main attraction of the modern town is the former monastery complex of San Francisco, which was founded in the 16th century. Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center The Chicago Botanic Garden opened the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center, located at the south end of the garden, to the public on September 23, 2009. In September 2010, the Plant Science Center earned a GOLD LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating from the U.S. Green Building Council because of its sustainable design. Spittal Pond Nature Reserve is the largest wildlife sanctuary in Bermuda, located close to the Atlantic coast of Smith's Parish. Surrounding the third largest pond in Bermuda, Spittal Pond, it covers an area of . It is one of 13 parks or reserves managed by the Bermuda Department of Conservation Services which protects and conserves environmentally critical areas and habitats. An important step for the development of open circuit scuba technology was the invention of the demand regulator, a mechanism that conserves breathing gas supply by providing flow only when the outlet pressure is reduced when the diver inhales. In 1864, the French engineers Auguste Denayrouze and Benoît Rouquayrol designed and patented their "Rouquayrol-Denayrouze diving suit" after adapting a pressure regulator and developing it for underwater use. This would be the first diving suit that could automatically supply air to the diver on demand by adjusting the flow of air from the tank to meet the diver's breathing and pressure requirements. Even today, despite the almost complete absence of indigenous ritual practice, Duna hold to the belief that moral behaviour conserves fertile substance, and that immoral behaviour sees it depleted and will ultimately bring about the world's end. Ongoing fertility continues to be something Duna must negotiate through appropriate moral behaviour and proper social intercourse (Haley 2002b). Indeed, it is their actions which render specific substances, particularly (but not exclusively) fluid substances, either inimical to growth or capable of inducing fertility.

This refuge system created the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 which conserves the wildlife of Alaska. In 1929, a 28-year-old forester named Bob Marshall visited the upper Koyukuk River and the central Brooks Range on his summer vacation "in what seemed on the map to be the most unknown section of Alaska." In February 1930, Marshall published an essay, "The Problem of the Wilderness,", a spirited defense of wilderness preservation in The Scientific Monthly, arguing that wilderness was worth saving not only because of its unique aesthetic qualities, but because it could provide visitors with a chance for adventure.

One of these adaptations is a "rete mirabile" (Latin for "wonderful net"). This close web-like structure of veins and arteries, located along each lateral side of the shark, conserves heat by warming the cooler arterial blood with the venous blood that has been warmed by the working muscles. This keeps certain parts of the body (particularly the stomach) at temperatures up to above that of the surrounding water, while the heart and gills remain at sea temperature.

A slab of square marble slabs covers the bottom of the walls of the mosque. All this is topped with a splendid theory of interlocking polyblocked arches, which, in this case, are not blind in their entirety, because those in the chamfered corners let now see the angles of the square plant structure. This gallery is the only one that conserves remains of the pictorial decoration of the 11th century, whose motives were rescued by Francisco Íñiguez Almech after removing the liming with which they were covered after the passage of the Aljafería to chapel. SANCCOB at Cape Recife SANCCOB at Cape Recife The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) is an international body dedicated to seabird rehabilitation. The only seabird rehabilitation organisation registered with the South African Veterinary Council, the non- profit centre is based at the Rietvlei Wetland Reserve in Table View, South Africa. SANCCOB conserves and protect South Africa's sea birds, especially threatened species, for the benefit of present and future generations. The organization was founded in November 1968 in response to an increase in oiling of penguins on South African coasts, connected to higher tanker traffic following the closure of the Suez Canal after the Six-Day War. It admitted between 200 and 2,000 birds per year during 1969–1993, almost all of which were African penguins.

The building is a great example of Gothic architecture in Germany; In its interior it conserves three enormous and very precious altars of Renaissance ends considered a masterpiece of the German sculpture of the period. Its high bell tower with an "onion" dome, which dominates the city to the south, served as a prototype for the construction of numerous baroque towers of Bavaria. In 1577 (officially) and 1643-1644 (virtually) the church, which was called the Benedictine abbey of Saints Ulrich and Afra, was elevated to the rank of imperial abbey.

The priory complex also incorporated a substantial gatehouse as well as columbarium, the inside walls of which are built in square compartments in regular tiers to a height of fifteen feet. There are some three hundred and fifty two niches, divided into eleven tiers each containing thirty-two compartments. At the Exposition Universelle (1867) the Maison Froment-Meurice exhibited a monumental sculptural overmantel for the Hôtel de Ville, that was lost in the fire that consumed the building during the Paris Commune of 1870. The Paris Tiara, given to Pope Leo XIII by the people of Paris in 1888 to commemorate his Golden Jubilee as a priest, was designed and executed by the younger Froment-Meurice. An exhibition, Les Froment-Meurice, Orfèvres romantiques parisiens, was presented by the Musée de la Vie romantique, Paris, in 2003; the museum conserves Froment-Meurice's silver box made to contain the epaulettes of General Louis Eugène Cavaignac.

The Liberation War Museum in Dhaka conserves artefacts and records of violence, death, and rape in 1971. In the immediate aftermath of the war, one pressing problem was the very high number of unwanted pregnancies of rape victims. Estimates of the number of pregnancies resulting in births range from 25,000 to the Bangladeshi government's figure of 70,000, while one publication by the Centre for Reproductive Law and Policy gave a total of 250,000. A government-mandated victim relief programme was set up with the support of the World Health Organization and International Planned Parenthood Federation, among whose goals it was to organise abortion facilities to help rape victims terminate unwanted pregnancies. A doctor at a rehabilitation centre in Dhaka reported 170,000 abortions of pregnancies caused by the rapes, and the births of 30,000 war babies during the first three months of 1972.

He was the owner of an excellent library in his house at the Appian Way, lord of a great fortune, partner of many companies of publicans and of important companies of fishing and conserves (essentially garum) in Gades, in Hispania, and of great properties in Illyricum. Married to Caecilia Metella (ca 130 BC - ca 50 BC), the sister of Quintus Caecilius Metellus, he was the father of Titus Pomponius Atticus and Pomponia, married about 70 BC to Quintus Tullius Cicero (102 BC - 43 BC), brother of the celebrated orator Marcus Tullius Cicero.

The Girona City History Museum is a museum in the middle of the Old Town of Girona, in a unique building which used to be the convent of the Capuchin friars of Saint Anthony in 18th century, and which still conserves some surprising remnants of the time, such as the cemetery, cloister and cistern. The Museum features displays showing how Girona was founded, from the Roman period through to the transition to democracy, all in chronological order. Several subject areas are covered, including an exhibition dedicated to popular imagery in the city and a room dedicated to the Sardana (a type of circle dance typical of Catalan culture) and the Cobla (a music ensemble). The Museum exhibition spaces are located in the main building and in other areas dedicated to the Spanish Civil War, part of the Democratic Memory Spaces Network of Catalonia.

The Keep is a purpose built archive and historical resource centre which stores, conserves and gives the public access to the records of its three managing partners: The East Sussex Record Office, The University of Sussex Special Collections, and the Royal Pavilion and Museums Local History Collections. The Keep also houses the library and office of The Sussex Family History Group, functions as headquarters of Friends of The Keep Archives, and holds the Historic Environment Record database for East Sussex. From November 2018, it has also functioned as the South East Hub for the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project for The British Library. It was funded by East Sussex County Council, the City Council of neighbouring Brighton and Hove and the University of Sussex, and was built on land close to the University in the Moulsecoomb area of Brighton and Hove.

At the end of 1602 the Spanish force was dispatched from the Philippines, taking with them the ship Santa Potenciana and three large frigates, with 150 well-armed Spanish soldiers, 10,000 fanégas of rice, 1,500 earthen jars of palm wine, 200 head of salt beef, 20 hogsheads of sardines, conserves and medicines, 50 quintals of powder, cannonballs and bullets, and cordage and other supplies, the whole in charge of Captain Joan Xuarez Gallinato, with orders to take that help to Terrenate and to place himself under the command of the Portuguese general. He made his voyage there in a fortnight, and anchored in the port of Talangame, in the island of Terrenate, two leguas from the fort. There he found Andrea Furtado de Mendoça with his galleons at anchor, awaiting him. The combined force besieged the fort at Terrenate.

Illuminare – Centre for the Study of Medieval Art KU Leuven, is a university- led research and documentation centre. It is situated in the University Library (Ladeuzeplein in Leuven) in the town of Leuven, Belgium and is accessible to both academics and students. The focus on Medieval and Early Modern Art from the Southern Low Countries in a European perspective is facilitated by both research and doctoral projects that are in turn supported by a vast international network of universities, institutions, and museums. Illuminare conserves and catalogues illuminated manuscripts and carries out art technical research (Book Heritage Lab). Recent research and conservation projects performed by the Book Heritage Lab, include the Codex Eyckensis (8th century) (2016/18), the illuminated manuscripts from the Mayer van den Bergh Museum (2014/19), the technological study of the Enclosed Gardens of Mechelen (Art Garden, 2016/20) and the Bruegel drawings and prints project (Fingerprint 2016/20).

Anarcho- syndicalist Georges Sorel advocated the use of violence as a form of direct action, calling it "revolutionary violence", which he opposed in Reflections on Violence (1908) to the violence inherent in class struggle. Similarities are seen between Sorel and the International Workingmens' Association (IWA) theorization of propaganda of the deed. Walter Benjamin, in his Critique of Violence (1920) demarcates a difference between "violence that founds the law", and "violence that conserves the law", on one hand, and on the other hand, a "divine violence" that breaks the "magic circle" between both types of "state violence".

The convent and church were classified as a Property of Public Interest (Decree 47/508), on 24 January 1967, but later included as part of the group designation for the Historic Centre of Angra do Heroísmo, under resolution 41/80 (11 June 1980). The dependencies of the Convent are today occupied by the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, which conserves many of the objects and reliquary that once belonged to the church and its spaces. It is considered a pantheon; it is the resting place for notable figures, such as João Vaz Corte-Real and Paulo da Gama (brother of explorer Vasco da Gama), whose tombstone is located in the primitive Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Guia (today nonexistent). In January 2012, the organ (built in 1788 by António Xavier Machado e Cerveira), labelled number 22, and oldest constructed in the archipelago was sent for restoration.

The municipality of El Salto is located on the banks of Rio Grande de Santiago, one of the largest and most polluted in the country. Its waters are loaded with waste from the large factories of the industrial corridor and coming from the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. The construction of the retaining wall at the top of the waterfall, which was used to channel the water to the hydroelectric plant, conserves the contaminated water that ends up stagnant, retaining toxic sludge and becoming a focus of infection and swarms of mosquitoes that They attack the population and transmit diseases. The pestilence of water and its high level of pollutants ends up torrentially affecting the health of the inhabitants, since it can be said that in El Salto there is neither water nor clean air, affecting the flora, fauna and fertility of the place in the same way .

The overwhelming consensus among scholars is that the story in the Book of Exodus is best understood as a myth and cannot be treated as history in any verifiable sense. While archaeology has found traces left by even small bands of hunter-gatherers in the Sinai, there is no evidence at all for the large body of people described in the Exodus story: "The conclusion – that Exodus did not happen at the time and in the manner described in the Bible – seems irrefutable [...] repeated excavations and surveys throughout the entire area have not provided even the slightest evidence". Instead, modern archaeology suggests continuity between Canaanite and Israelite settlement, indicating a primarily Canaanite origin for Israel. While all but the most conservative scholars reject the biblical account of the Exodus, a majority still believes that the story conserves some historical basis, though disagreeing widely about what that historical kernel might have been.

Psychoanalysis and postmodern theory (including the work of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan) are combined to bear on literary texts and the history that produced them. In Judith, for instance, Hermann reads the decapitation of Holofernes not just as a symbolic castration but also allegorically, as Christian abnegation of the self, but also tropologically, as signifying the disclipining of especially sexual desire within a group, a notion he relates to the poem's monastic provenance. Hermann's critique of "previous allegorical approaches" is still cited in Old English studies. In addition, Hermann takes aim at the reigning methods in Old English scholarship of the time, especially exegesis and the New Criticism, by examining the "sublation", his translation of the Hegelian term Aufhebung, the "subsuming of one term in a binary pair (devil/church, foreign evil/soldier of Christ) by the other in an operation that both negates and conserves the former (suppressed) concept".

The Rimsky-Korsakov Version is often augmented with the Ippolitov-Ivanov reorchestration of the St. Basil's Scene (commissioned by the Bolshoy Theatre in 1925, composed in 1926, and first performed in 1927).

The reading room provides access to the library catalogue, the Collective Catalogue of Universities (CCUC), several databases (Princeton University, Index of Christian Art; Bibliography of the History of Art; Art Price), and to databases available on CD-ROM and Internet. Another important element in the Museu Nacional organisational structure is the archive, founded as a department in 1995 to standardise management of the museum's documentary collections. With regard to the origin of these collections, the archive contains both documentation generated by the museum since 1991, when the consortium was set up, and historic documents from institutions that now form part of the Museu Nacional: the Museu d'Art de Catalunya (Art Museum of Catalonia), the Museu d'Art Modern (Museum of Modern Art), the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints, the Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia, and the Library of Art History. The archive also conserves invaluable historic documentation in the form of the collections built up by different organising committees for fine art exhibitions (1891–1946).

The sacristy conserves a triptych of the Madonna and Child with Saints Anthony Abbot and Giuliano (1369) by Allegretto Nuzi; a Madonna in Glory between Saints Giuliano and Anthony of Padua by Vincenzo Pagani; a Madonna and Child with Saints John the Baptist, Sebastian, James the Major (1574) by Gaspare Gasparini; a Birth of Mary by Sforza Compagnoni; a Pietà by Filippo Bellini; a Miracle of St Gregory by Andrea Sacchi designed for the Gregorian chapel in St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. On the altar of the chapel of San Giuliano is a canvas depicting Julian before an angel who announces his coming death (1738) by Francesco Mancini.

The first level conserves the building structure of the 9th century and shelters two separated naves and six sections, which are separated by means of two cruciform pillars and divided by lowered horseshoe arcs. In spite of its simplicity, they form a balanced space and could be used as baths. The second floor repeats the same spatial scheme of the previous one, and remains of a Muslim factory of the 11th century in the brick canvases, which indicates that, from the 14th century something similar happens with the appearance of the last two floors, of Mudéjar invoice, and whose construction would be due to the construction of the palace of Peter IV of Aragon, that is connected with the Tower of the Troubadour thanks to a corridor, and would be configured as tower of homage. The arches of these plants already reflect its Christian structure, because they are slightly pointed arches, and support unveiled roofs, but flat structures in wood.

Badalona Museum Roman amphora at Badalona Museum At the Badalona Museum, opened in 1966, one can visit the remains of the Roman city of Baetulo underneath the building, where there are baths, part of a road and a group of shops. In 2010, the decumanus site, with remains from the Cardo Maximus and the Decumanus Maximus, diverse shops or tavernae and three insulae, became part of the visit, along with the permanent exhibition which describes the first settlements recorded in Badalona (prehistory, the Iron Age and Iberian culture) and the history and characteristics of Roman Baetulo, with very noteworthy pieces (the hinges, the Venus of Badalona, the Tabula hospitalis, the ceramic vessel Vas de les Naus, the portrait of Agripina and three Iberian steles). The Museum also has a collection rich in archaeological materials from the excavations it carries out, and also conserves a great variety of objects from other eras (of art, everyday life, crafts, industry, etc.), which give testimony to the history of the city.

Biblioteca Lancisiana, entrance The Room of the Commendatore, as well as the upper loggia, give access to the Biblioteca Lancisiana, founded in 1711 by Giovanni Maria Lancisi, an eminent scholar and the doctor of Pope Innocent XI, who made this library the heart of his project for the promotion of scientific culture. The library was inaugurated in 1714 in the presence of Pope Clement XI. It is composed of two large halls: the first one has an atrium and a vestibule; the second one, the former part of the library, has 16 wooden shelves. The collections of books comprise the Lancisi collection, made with books donated by the King of France Louis XIV, the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III and Prince Fürstenberg. The library also conserves 373 valued manuscripts from 14th to 20th century, among which two parchment codices with Latin translations of texts by Avicenna and the well- known Liber Fraternitatis Sancti Spiritus.

The sanctuary harbours not only three types of great Indian bustards and lesser florican but is also habitat for the black partridge, several species of herpetofauna, a large number of bird species (terrestrial and aquatic) including 19 identified species of raptors. ;Avifauna The avifauna study of the sanctuary was specifically undertaken at the initiative of the Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology, in 1997–98 to evolve a 'Management Plan' that conserves the bird species. The study has identified 161 species (46 families) of which 112 are resident species (of 36 families) and 38 are migrants – majority are wetland birds – belonging to 13 families, vis-a-vis an earlier study that had identified 112 species of 36 families of which 23 were migrants. The study also provides detailed information of the avifauna in respect of each habitat of the sanctuary for resident and migratory birds, region wise, season wise and feeding habit wise.

A very peculiar custom with folks that reside along the rivers is the delivery of mail, with a long cane which has a groove in the end where mail is attached, the boat without stopping by the pier delivers the mail to the hand of the islander (or vice versa) with no need to berth the ship on pier, this "marine mail delivery" has been a long tradition in the delta. Villa Paranacito is a base to explore the Paraná Delta.

The building of the cathedral currently houses, on its second floor, the Cathedral Temple; In its first floor, a chapel where the Eucharist is celebrated, the Crypt of the Bishops, a wake and the offices and dependencies of the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary; And in the zócalo, a Museum that conserves different religious objects. The cathedral is erected in the place where the main Catholic temples of the city have been located, being the thirteenth main Church that has had the city of Valdivia.

Raised in Queensland, his poems, prose and academic papers have been published in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, U.K, France, India and Slovenia. Brentley has been a guest at numerous literary festivals, poetry readings, culture conserves and academic conferences, including: The Queensland Poetry Festival, The Australian National Poetry Festival, The Sydney Poetry Festival, Brisbane Writers Festival, The Wellington International Poetry Festival, The Oxfam Bookfest in London, "Spoken" and "Couplet" at the State Library of Queensland, The Sydney Writers Festival, Asia Pacific Writers and Translators and the Australasian Association of Writing Programs (Massey University 2014, Swinburne University 2015, University of Canberra 2016). From 2001-2013 Frazer was publisher and editor of Retort Magazine and was co-founder of The Vision Area (1998-2000) and a founding member of the Brisbane spoken word event Speed Poets (2003 - 2017).

If labour is withdrawn from the workplace for any reason, typically the value of capital assets deteriorates; it takes a continual stream of work effort to maintain and preserve their value. When materials are used to make new products, part of the value of materials is also transferred to the new products. Consequently, labour power may be hired not "because it creates more value than it costs to buy", but simply because it conserves the value of a capital asset which, if this labour did not occur, would decline in value by an even greater amount than the labour cost involved in maintaining its value; or because it is a necessary expense which transfers the value of a capital asset from one owner to another. Marx regards such labour as "unproductive" in the sense that it creates no new net addition to total capital value, but it may be essential and indispensable labour, because without it a capital value would reduce or disappear.

The town hall of Palas de Rey has an extensive artistic heritage that reflects the noble past of these lands, as it preserves remains of forts, towers, castles, as well as several mansions and emblazoned houses. Among the most important buildings we can mention: the old house-tower of Filgueira; the tower-house of Fontecuberta; the Pazo de Laia that conserves the coat of arms of the counts of Traba, of whose lineage would come the founder of Pambre; the house of Ulloa, where the Saavedra, Montenegros, Gayosos, the Deza, identified with their arms and family shields; the Pazo Mariñao; the old fortress of the Castro de Seixas in the parish of Merlán, from where this well-known Galician lineage comes; the Pazo de Pacheco, and finally the Castle of Pambre, a fortress constructed by Don Gonzalo Ozores de Ulloa in 1375, which resisted the revolt of 1467, becoming one of the best examples of Galic military architecture.

In the preceding years, experimental film seemed to be overshadowed by video art, but during the early years of the 21st century, it once again attracted attention, particularly from artists. (source: mm2) De Filmbank, which inventories, presents and distributes contemporary Dutch experimental film in all sorts of ways (through rental, entries to Dutch and foreign film festivals, publications and DVDs), was founded in 2001 by Karel Doing, Anna Abrahams, Peter Van Hoof and others. The Filmmuseum conserves experimental films in the framework of the 'Collectie Nederland van de Experimentele Film' project, this was followed by a Filmbank tour which included films by Barbara Meter, Henri Plaat and Frans Zwartjes. Plaat refers to his films as 'incantations', Meter refers to a > “proposal to experience time and space differently” and Zwartjes says: > “The only useful answer to the crap around you is art.” Rotterdam gained another screening venue with the Worm, while the Rotterdamse Filmwerkplaats organises workshops for filmmakers.

The collection of amphora in the National Museum of Archaeology is an important testament of the socio- economic relations between the province of Lusitania and the great economic epicenters of the Roman world. Lusitania spanned the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts and left archaeological remains dating from the 1st century BC to the 5th century AD. The amphorae in the museum's collections are today part of a collective study on the complex maritime trade routes of the Roman Empire. Archaeological sites in Mértola, Castro Marim, Torre de Ares and Troia have revealed commercial ties between the eastern and western Mediterranean and the north of Africa through the import of the famous Baetic olive oil and wine, found in amphorae of types Dressel 20, Dressel 14, Haltern 70 and Africana I and II. The many amphorae created in Lusitania, of types Almagro 51 C, Almagro 51 a-b, Lusitana 3, Almagro 50 and Dressel 14, were used to store a range of goods, from fish conserves to luxury products such as scented sauces referred to by classic writers as garum ou o liquamen.

Present At present the city conserves the neoclassical and eclectic spirit of its urban planning and its architecture, with reduced modern incursions in its historic center that would guarantee it for the condition of National Monument granted on December 6, 2011. Tourism Once visited by merchants and personalities of universal culture, the city exhibits profuse accommodation buildings located in privileged areas of its historic urban centre, which survive the passage of time despite the abandonment or change of function suffered after the decline of the flourishing economic activity that engulfed them. Nowadays, tourism, in addition to the treasured values, is an incipient activity in the city, mostly visited by relatives of locals or guests of the neighboring Cayería Noreste de Villa Clara in its journey through the center of the country.

According to her last will and testament, dated 1 January 1922, and preserved in the archives of the Innocenti Foundling Hospital in Florence, Brandeis left the bulk of her worldly goods to the orphanage, including her sketchbooks and her works of art still in her possession, except for four paintings, for which she left money to be well framed and given to the Modern Art Gallery of the Pitti Palace. Laura Capella, daughter of her dear friend and fellow artist Giulia Capella, painted the portrait of Brandeis in 1924 which hangs in the Benefactors Room of the Innocenti Institute. Most of Brandeis' belongings, including her artworks, were sold at public auction in December of 1926, but the Innocenti Institute still conserves at least twelve of her oil paintings, as well as numerous watercolors and sketchbooks, which provide much information about the artists painting technique. As well as at the Innocenti Institute and the Gallery of Modern Art at the Pitti Palace in Florence, Antonietta Brandeis’ works are in private collections in many parts of the world.

The National Computer & Communications Museum The Computer History Museum A computer museum is devoted to the study of historic computer hardware and software, where a "museum" is a "permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates, and exhibits the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment, for the purposes of education, study, and enjoyment", as defined by the International Council of Museums. Some computer museums exist within larger institutions, such as the Science Museum in London and the Deutsches Museum in Munich. Others are dedicated specifically to computing, such as the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, the American Computer & Robotics Museum in Bozeman, Montana, The National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park, The Centre for Computing History in Cambridge and the Nexon Computer Museum in Jeju Province. Some specialize in the early history of computing, others in the era that started with the first personal computers such as the Apple I and Altair 8800, Apple IIs, older Apple Macintoshes, Commodore Internationals, Amigas, IBM PCs and more rare computers such as the Osborne 1.
