With a staff of highly trained, culturally experienced psychologists, social workers, nurses, chemical dependency counselors, case managers, vocational rehabilitation counselors and early childhood teachers, the Center services include a therapeutic preschool for children with behavioral and developmental issues, programs for adults and seniors with mental health and substance abuse issues, chemical abuse outpatient programs and mental health-based services for children, adolescents and their families, as well as a twenty-bed residential chemical abuse recovery facility and a food pantry program. Upon Mrs. Bowen's passing in 1996, the Center was renamed The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center. Today, the Bowen Center serves over 15,000 clients annually, providing a broad range of supportive and behavioral health services to individuals and families throughout the City of New York.

"Clear as the Driven Snow", according to Johnston, is a warning about recreational chemical abuse, which reflected the band members' lifestyles at that time. The second side of the album opens with the rocker "Without You". This song, like many others, had begun as a jam. "That song had both drummers playing at the same time," Johnston stated.

A few days after that, Riley received a visit from a Scamp-Purr mascot bearing gifts, compliments of Burger King. In Ohio, the local Burger King and Elyria High School students promoted the sale of the stuffed toys. In addition a Purr- tender mascot came to Broad Street on December the 20th. Both promotional activities aided in raising funds and awareness for the "Chemical Abuse Reduced through Education" project.

Rolling Stone Ann Powers wrote that "Coma White" "suggest[s] a banishment from the garden, a betrayal so fundamental that it can barely be remembered. The chemical abuse, the coldly functional sex and the bitter cynicism Manson describes elsewhere are all motivated by this loss." Writing for Loudwire, Chad Childers deemed "Coma White" a "standout track" and a "favorite".

Marshall composed and produced the album, Hold On. Her single and albums have been featured, reviewed and charted in the industry trade publications Billboard, Dance Music Authority, Blues and Soul Magazine, and In The Basement Magazine. Marshall has donated portions of the album’s proceeds to private rehabilitation facilities for substance abuse and those suffering from bipolar disorder as a result of chemical abuse. Her 1990s appearances in included Prospectors Night Club in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, at Club Vegas opening For Jay-Z in Philadelphia, and a summer tropical tour with performances for resident DJ Joey Jam's productions at Club Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Her music receives continued support from DJs at the annual DJ Times International Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Ace Necaise, Director: Mr. Necaise has served as a member of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, D'Iberville Chamber of Commerce, member of NRECA's T & D Engineering Underground Subcommittee (past Secretary and past President), and a Director of Chemical Abuse Prevention Services in Jackson County, MS. Mr. Necaise has been involved in Rotary International for almost 30 years starting with the Rotary Club of Gautier, MS where he was club president in 2003-2004. He was Rotarian of the Year for his club in 2008.
