In 1970 he issued The Crystalites' The Undertaker, an instrumental album in a similar vein to the early music of The Upsetters. He produced successful albums by other artists, including DJ Scotty's Schooldays, Dennis Brown's Super Reggae and Soul Hits, and also his own 14 Chartbuster Hits. In 1971, Swing magazine named Harriott the Top Producer of 1970. He was one of the first producers to use King Tubby mixing talents at his Waterhouse studio, issuing one of the earliest dub albums in 1974: Scrub A Dub, credited to The Crystallites.

The bonus track by KK was added 35 days after the original album was produced, when they had completed the shooting for Pyaar Re. It was a joint venture after seeing the emotional outburst within Tusshar, which highlighted the title track. Atif's worked with musician Arko Pravo for the chartbuster song Tere Sang Yaara from Rustom which topped "Bollywood Life" chart, got nominated for "Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer". Atif worked with Mithoon for 4 versions of the song "Mar Jaayen" from Loveshhuda in 2016, penned by Sayeed Qaudri. He worked with musical duo Sachin-Jigar for Toota Jo Kabhi Taara and Khair Mangda for the movie A Flying Jatt. "Dil Dancer" from the movie Actor in Law released, which earned him LUX Award for best playback singer.

In 2006, the original Moheener Ghoraguli song Prithibi ta naki was remade as Bheegi Bheegi by the music-director Pritam Chakrabarty for the Hindi film Gangster which went on to become a chartbuster. The song was sung by Bangladeshi singer James of Nagar Baul fame. Prithibi ta naki was sung by Bonnie who is a founder member of Oikyotaan, a baul fusion band based in Chennai. 9 January 2001 and 2002 Jadavpur University AISA organised Dariyay Ailo Tufan where all the contemporary Bengali bands performed in memory of Gautam Chattopadhyay.

On the back of this success, "Beedi" received considerable airplay on pop radio stations in Brazil becoming the first Hindi- only song to achieve this. The mini-series' soundtrack, which includes the track, went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of the year. Eventually, Bipasha Basu became the talk of the movie for giving 2 chartbuster songs, "Beedi" and "Namak", both of which became immensely popular. According to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with around units sold, this film's soundtrack album was the year's eleventh highest-selling.

His health suffered a major setback in the early 1990s, though he delivered hits with Zindagi Ek Juaa, Dalaal, Ghayal and the 1990 chartbuster "Gori Hain Kalaiyan" (Aaj Ka Arjun) and his last hit Shola Aur Shabnam (1992). His other films in the 1990s included Vishnu Devaa, Parakrami, Insaniyat, Police Aur Mujrim, First Love Letter, Aandhiyaan, Phool Bane Angaarey and others. In the 1960s, Anjaan also wrote several non-films albums composed by Shyam Sagar and sung by Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey and Suman Kalyanpur. Rafi's song "Main Kab Gaata" was a big hit then.

His fame increased with the release of his 2014 film titled 1983, a coming-of-age sports drama film which marked the debut of screenwriter-director Abrid Shine. The film, a tribute to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was the first successful film of 2014. The soundtrack of the film was also a success, and the track "Olanjali Kuruvi", sung by P.Jayachandran and Vani Jayaram, was a "chartbuster". "For maintaining the tempo of the film with an in-sync background score", Sundar received the National Film Award for Best Background Score from the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

He muscled the single-screens' melodrama into multiplexes through '70s dialogue-baazi. The movie won many accolades from critics and viewers alike for its direction and its powerful and engaging screenplay. Bollywood Trade Analyst Komal Nahta wrote that 'Rajat Aroraa has penned an interesting story and padded it up with a highly engrossing screenplay that doesn't let the viewer lose grip for even a moment. Aroraa's dialogues, of course, are absolutely fantastic, many of them clapworthy.' Rajat’s next, The Dirty Picture (2011) saw him turn lyricist for the chartbuster 'Ooh La La Tu Hai Meri Fantasy'.

Bharadwaj composed music & background score for 6 more Telugu films before getting a break on Tamil films, with Saran's Kadhal Mannan in 1998. The songs of this film became a chartbuster, with the song Unnai Paartha Pinbu Naan turning out to be a Classical hit which was celebrated by the audience for many years to come. Kadhal Mannan, announced the arrival of Bharadwaj to Kollywood loud & strong. This film was also the first of the Ajith – Saran – Bharadwaj trio, which went on to become a legendary combination in delivering hit films along with musical chartbusters until 2009.

The film is a family drama that revolves around cricket, it centers on Rameshan (Nivin Pauly) and his memories from 1983 when India won its first World Cup under Kapil Dev. 1983 which is also a tribute to cricketer Sachin Tendulkar released on 31 January was the first success film of 2014. All the songs composed by Gopi Sunder became popular and one of them, "Olanjali Kuruvi", was a chartbuster. The film received three Kerala State Film Awards including Best Debut Director for Abride Shine, Best Actor for Nivin Pauly and Second Best Actor for Anoop Menon.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham () is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film co written, co produced and directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Jiiva and Samantha in the lead roles. The film is based on a story written by Reshma Ghatala, who produced the film alongside Elred Kumar, Jayaraman, Venkat Somasundaram and Menon. The cinematography was handled by M. S. Prabhu and Om Prakash. The film's background score and soundtrack were composed by Ilaiyaraaja which went on to become a chartbuster, and the soundtrack album sold a record 8.5 million units through various platforms on its release.

In 2018, Singh sang "Aaj Se Teri" for the film Pad Man, composed by Amit Trivedi and written by Kausar Munir. He sang "Binte Dil" for the film Padmaavat written by A. M. Turaz and composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He also sang another chartbuster titled "Subah Subah" for the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety with Prakriti Kakar, composed by Amaal Mallik and written by Kumaar as well as "Tera Yaar Hoon Main". He also sang for the films Dil Juunglee, 3 Storeys, Hichki, Raazi, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, Veere Di Wedding, 102 Not Out, Baazaar, Kedarnath and Karwaan.

En Kadhal Solla (English: To express my love...) is a song from the 2010 Tamil feature film Paiyaa, composed and performed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The song, with lyrics by Na. Muthukumar, was released as part of the soundtrack album of the film on 12 February 2010. The lover sings desperately to himself unable to express his love, the video is picturized on the lead actors Karthi and Tamanna. The song was a very popular chartbuster, which stayed in the charts up to 10 months, and in the Radio Mirchi charts even one year after its release.

The soundtrack was composed by Nadeem-Shravan. Planet Bollywood ranks the film's soundtrack at 56 in its all-time top 100 greatest Bollywood soundtracks. It consisted of tracks like "Kitna Pyara Tujhe Rab Ne" (which is translated from the Punjabi song "Kinna Sohna Tenu Rab Ne Banaya" by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan), "Aaye Ho Meri Zindagi Mein", which had become an immensely popular wedding song, and Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik's "Pardesi Pardesi", which was a major chartbuster at the time and which also led to the film's success. Udit Narayan won his 3rd Film Fare Best Playback Singer for this song.

Later that year, they composed two songs for Hero, a remake of Subhash Ghai's original film of the same name, which marked their first collaboration with actor-producer Salman Khan. The next year, they composed for A Flying Jatt. In 2017, they came back with two original songs for Hindi Medium, which also had the chartbuster song, "Suit Suit", sung by Guru Randhawa. They next composed for the Ayushmann Khurrana-Parineeti Chopra starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu, the Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran and Sanjay Dutt starrer Bhoomi, while also composing songs and score for A Gentleman, which included the famous "Bandook Meri Laila".

" According to the same site, the album had created a record with "good sales right on the first day of release itself." Sales executives cited that the single track was "a chartbuster", but was "highly downloaded in internet" and that "the trend of single track releases is something new to Kollywood", pointing to the price of the single (), which was considered too high. The new "strategical promotional concept" proved to be successful, as the song became widely popular and was declared a hit by trade pundits. The song particularly enjoyed popularity among the younger generation and had reportedly become a "rage among the youths.

" Joginder Tuteja from Bollywood Hungama gave a rating 4 out 5 and wrote, "Kaminey is certainly not a run of the mill album and this is where its prime strength lies. The album boasts of at least three chartbuster tracks'Dhan Te Nan' (sure shot superhit), 'Thode Bheege' (must for the hearts in love) and 'Raat Ke Dhai Baje' (for some 'masti' and 'hungama'). Songs like 'Fatak' and 'Kaminey' are innovative and situational which showcase the range of Vishal Bhardwaj. Add to that the 'Go Charlie Go – Theme Music' and you know that Kaminey is yet another addition to some excellent albums that have hit the stands during last one month.

Only 2009, his next album, the soundtrack to the gangster film Laadam, released, which was based on Hip-hop music, featuring Malaysian rappers Dr. Burn and Emcee Jezz. The film, directed by Prabu Solomon, also bombed at the box office, failing to propel his career. In 2010, Dharan first release was Bharath's Thambikku Indha Ooru, which, too was highly unsuccessful at the box office, while his next release would be Siddu, collaborating again with K. Bhagyaraj. The soundtrack to the film was released in 2009, for which he made composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and director Venkat Prabhu to sing each a song, with the former's song "Poove Poove" emerging a chartbuster.

In November 2006, the Paruthiveeran soundtrack album got released, which saw the composer foraying into pure rural folk music, using traditional musical instruments. Though initially releasing to mixed reviews, with critics doubting whether the songs could attract a modern youth audience, his first attempt at rural music turned out to be a major success, following the film's outstanding run at the box office. The film, Ameer's third feature film as well as Karthi's debut venture, received universal critical acclaim after its release in February 2007 and became a blockbuster, while particularly the song "Oororam Puliyamaram" was a chartbuster number in Tamil Nadu. In 2007, he had a record ten album releases in one year.

Butler's pre-career days were spent in the United States working for his father, William Butler, who worked in films as an optical effects director. He moved to England in the mid 1930s and landed his first independent job with the London Films working for the Hungarian-born producer/director Alexander Korda's chartbuster film Things to Come (1936). His first stint was to do films called The Man Who Could Work Miracles and Fire Over England. What worked wonders for him was the innovative idea of introducing "blue-screen travelling matte process" in special effects, which he developed with his colleagues and implemented it in the Academy Award- winning film The Thief of Bagdad in 1940.

Bollywood Hungama: 'Sonu Nigam, who is always a delight to listen to, especially when it comes to soulful romantic tracks, strikes again with 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin'. Just the kind of song that was pretty much required to give a sense of completeness to Agneepath, this one also boasts of some poetic writing by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Even though it isn't catchy enough to become the next big chartbuster, 'Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin' still has good enough holding power to keep you engaged while it plays.' Though most of the songs are situational, which means their shelf life would be restricted till the film's run in theatres, none associated with English Vinglish can be expected to mind that as this Amit Trivedi and Swanand Kirkire soundtrack ensures that there are many forward steps taken here." BollywoodLife rated 3.5 out of 5 stars stating "The music is situational and an integral part of the movie. English Vinglish is sweet-sheet, cool-shool and fun-vun! Give it a listen!" Koimoi rated 3.5 out of 5 stars "Overall, the music of the album is good with varied shades of emotions that include colors of celebration and ‘masti’. Despite lacking a commercial chartbuster, the album still does well in holding your attention with Swanand Kirkire’s lyrics aptly supporting compositions by Amit Trivedi.

The album consists of nine songs, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Venkat Prabhu's cousin and regular music director, joining together for the third time after delivering the successful chartbuster albums Chennai 600028 (2007) and Saroja (2008). A major highlight of the soundtrack is a "family song", the first in the album, titled "Ezhezhu Thalaimuraikkum" that features "the cousins of the family", including music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, his siblings Karthik Raja and Bhavatharini, and his cousins Premji Amaran and director Venkat Prabhu himself. The song, penned by Gangai Amaran, is said to talk about and pay tribute to the elders of the Raja family—Pavalar Varadarajan, R. D. Bhaskar, Ilaiyaraaja and Gangai Amaren—and the family's home town, Pannaipuram (Theni), where the song was also recorded. It was recorded live using a live orchestra, as it was usually done in the 1980s, but which has become a rarity in recent days.

Critical reception for the soundtrack was mixed to positive, with Ainvayi Ainvayi receiving particular praise (SawfNews even stated that one would "probably want to see the movie just for this song""Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh: Endearing Chemistry in Band Baaja Baaraat", SawfNews, 3 November 2010.) and agreeing that the album was a superior effort than the composing duo's previous solo soundtrack for Teen Patti, while several criticised the track Dum Dum and lamented the similarity to previous Salim–Sulaiman scores. Writing for ApunKa Choice, Usha Lakra titled her review "Band, Baaja, Bland" and noted that while "the album has its moments" and "the tracks are composed strictly keeping in mind the theme of the movie", all-in-all Ainvayi Ainvayi was the only chartbuster of the album. In 2011 he went on to collaborate on the album 'Hope' with artists Timothy Hill and Eric Thomas for the Nasreen & Alam Sher Foundation, US. In 2012 he sang Saim Chishty's famous poem 'Haq Ali Maula'(originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) with his band Humble mystic for [Coke Studio MTV at Reliance Studios, Mumbai. Apart from singing the 2013 chartbuster 'Lutt Jawaan' for Music Director Mannan Shah in the movie Commando: A One Man Army starring Vidyut Jamwal, and the hit Coke Studio (India) MTV track 'Kyun Na' with composer Amit Trivedi; Dhruv penned the lyrics for song 'Abr e Karam' sung by Shilpa Rao for the movie Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain released in 2014 starring Martin Sheen, Mischa Barton and Kal Penn. Dhruv was also featured in Fox Life’s series Sound Trek (season 2) in the episode 'Dumdam Must Qalandar' in 2014. In 2017 he gave voice for the score of Andy Serkis's film Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle with London-based composer Nitin Sawhney.
