Just My Imagination is one of the lesser-known tracks on the record, but this is exactly what makes it stand out as an album highlight. The band do a great job with warm and comforting vocals, perfectly suited for the slow nature of the song. What Becomes of the Broken Hearted has nice vocal harmonising, but the swapping of lead vocals drowns out the essence of the heartbreak, whereas You Can't Hurry Love was always going to be a distant third choice behind The Supremes and Phil Collins efforts.

Vaughan was reunited with Billy Eckstine for a series of duet recordings in 1957 that yielded the hit "Passing Strangers".

Murphy feels that the more pleasant sounds will also help people's attitudes toward taking the subway. He believes that people will "feel a nostalgia" for certain destinations when hearing its unique melody. Murphy is prepared for the responsibilities if the idea is green-lit by the MTA and would be “broken hearted [if it doesn’t happen]”. In June 2015, he partnered with Heineken to launch the project, branded as the “Subway Symphony.” However, the MTA has denied any possibility of the project happening, as the standard turnstile beep is a necessary ADA-compliant tool for the visually impaired.

"It starts off appearing like it's a very happy, joyous song," says Chater, "but there's a twist in the tale when the sample reveals that it's actually about someone having their sunshine taken away – the blue skies turn grey. It's really a song for everybody out there who's ever lost love, who's ever been broken-hearted." The lyrics to "If I Was a Folkstar" were written by Toro y Moi about him and his wife taking LSD on the beach shortly after they got married. The title of the album, Wildflower, was chosen for its simplicity.
Around the same time frame, the group was introduced to Christopher Voss, the brother of Brian Voss. Inspired to commit his poetic writing to vinyl, Voss presented Smith with acoustic sets of his song-poems, "Diamonds, Rats, and Gum" and "Broken Hearted Lady". Exemplifying the feelings of teenage-angst, the Souls had no past intentions to record; however, Voss insisted he would volunteer funds for recording sessions at the now legendary Jimmy Nicholls' Pharaoh Studios. In September 1966, the band entered the studio—equipped with a basic two-track—recording virtually live with Voss as the lead vocalist.

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 77% rating, based on 13 reviews. The film received highly mixed response from film critics, however, with both favourable and unfavourable reviews. Kim Hughes of Original Cin writes “Brutally candid and frequently hilarious, indie filmmaker Steve Markle’s documentary Shoot to Marry, about his novel search for everlasting love — or more specifically, his search for marriage which may or may not be everlasting — is a balm for the broken-hearted and a great diversion with unexpected gravitas in its conclusion. It’s also a cautionary tale about expectations and how we pile them on ourselves at our peril.

Its lyrics have heartbreak and personal growth themes, which see a faithful Lipa offering her heart to a new partner after an upsetting breakup. Lipa describes "Break My Heart" as a "celebration of vulnerability," seeing her question whether a new love will leave her broken-hearted, with lyrics comparing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic's social distancing measures. It interpolates rhythm guitar melody from "Need You Tonight" (1987) by INXS, alongside Europop and dance beats, disco violins, and a techno-adjacent baseline as the production. Musically, it is a disco and dance-pop song, with a retro-futuristic sound, and elements of funk and house.

Mellor's "trick" was to ensure that the ferrets were well-fed before they were inserted into his trousers. In 1986, Mellor attempted to break his own record before a crowd of 2,500 spectators, intending to beat the "magic six-hour mark—the four-minute mile of ferret legging". After five hours, most of the attendees had become bored and left; workmen arrived to dismantle the stage, despite Mellor's protests that he was on his way to a new record. According to Adrian Tame of the Sunday Herald Sun, Mellor retired after that experience, "disillusioned and broken-hearted," but with his dignity and manhood intact.
Didi worked in a campursari (a Javanese word meaning "mixture of essences") style, producing ballads with influences of pop music and the local styles kroncong and dangdut. The vast majority of his songs are themed around heartbreaks and other sad love stories. Because of this, he earned the nickname "The Godfather of the Broken-Hearted" during his later years. Aldo Sianturi of Billboard Indonesia writes that he is a "genius music conceptor" who are able to express the "depth and bitternes of love" in his lyrics, which are mostly written in Javanese, specifically the low ngoko register which is used as the daily speech by most Javanese speakers.

The next day, they reconcile and spend the week writing, rehearsing and recording songs.
Allmusic gave the album three out of five stars and described it as the group's "most personal" release. They commended the title track as "one of several earnest and sincere efforts" but criticized Paul's voice as being "whiny," singling out the songs "Forgiveness" and "Leavin' the Land of the Broken Hearted" as not being "any more deeply felt than the other deeply felt songs on the album" while being "more revealing and touching." The publication stated that the album was one that BlackHawk "had to make" and was a "risk" but "one worth taking" at that stage of the group's career. Matt Bjorke of About.
Witnessing album sales not taking off and dropping off the Billboard 200 after only one week, the band embarked a variety of tours to promote the record, as a supporting act again. They played opening slots for Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Hinder, and Bullet for My Valentine, among others. Even though the catchy power ballad "Broken Hearted" was released to radio stations and managed to get some airplay, no video was made, and the album ended up as a commercial flop. Even though the number of total sales has not been made official, it is widely rumored to have ended below the 100k bar.

On joining Mercury Records as director of A&R; in 1958, Otis began writing and producing material for Brook Benton. This collaboration led to "It's Just a Matter of Time", "Endlessly", "So Many Ways", "Kiddio" and the novelty song, "The Boll Weevil Song". Otis also produced a number of duets between Benton and Dinah Washington, among them "Baby (You've Got What It Takes)" and "A Rockin' Good Way (To Mess Around and Fall in Love)"; he worked on Washington's solo efforts, as well, most notably the classic "What a Difference a Day Makes" and "This Bitter Earth". Otis also produced hits for Sarah Vaughan ("Broken-Hearted Melody"), Timi Yuro ("Hurt") and The Diamonds ("The Stroll"), which he also co-wrote.
The failure of the Unity Joint Stock Bank in 1866, of which he was a governor, and an unfortunate connection with the Unity Fire and General Life Assurance Office, caused him such heavy losses that, instead of becoming Lord Mayor of London, he was in August 1866 obliged to resign his aldermanic gown. Many bad seasons followed at Tiptree farm, particularly that of 1879, and at last, worn out with diabetes and broken-hearted, his affairs were put in liquidation on 14 December 1880. He died at Tiptree Hall on 26 December 1880, and was buried in Tiptree Church on 1 January 1881. He was married twice; firstly, in 1823, to Fanny Frost, and secondly, in 1846, Charlotte, daughter of Francis Ward of Chillesford, Suffolk.
The follow-up, "For Whom The Bell Tolls", was only a minor hit, and a subsequent single "Broken Hearted Pirates", featuring an uncredited Dudley Moore on piano, made no headway at all. A then unknown keyboard player by the name of Reginald Dwight was hired to fill in for an ill Eric Hine and he joined them on a 1967 tour in Scotland. They were asked to allow him to stay on, and he was almost recruited as a permanent member. They politely rejected the chance to record any of his compositions (although they did ultimately record "I'm Going Home" as the B-side of their final (contractually obligated) single, and laughed when he told them he was adopting the stage name of Elton John.
" The Washington Post' gave the album a mixed review, explaining that "There's not a lot going on here, but songs such as "Realize" and "Hard to Find" are hardly nothing." and that tracks such as "W." allow Codeine to achieve "both earthly aggression and unearthly calm." Charles Aaron of Spin, reviewed the single "Realize", stating that the song "inches along as if Codeine's still wondering whether it's worth the effort". The b-side "Broken-hearted Wine" was described as a song that "coolly walks a delicate line between delibitating sadness and cartoon regret." From retrospective reviews, The Virgin Encyclopedia of Nineties Music commented that Barely Real was "on first hearing, slightly soporific and listless, but it rewards repeated listening with its depth and emotional texture.
Richard Edwards, Paul Stokes and Tom Leonard. Wife of canoeist John Darwin admits she knew he was alive The UK police by that time had already suspected that Darwin might not have been dead since Anne, despite portraying herself as a broken-hearted widow, took foreign holidays, planned to sell the family home in Hartlepool to move to Panama and transferred large sums of money abroad. A police financial investigation had already begun three months prior to Darwin's reappearance, following a tip from one of Anne's colleagues connecting her claim on her husband's life insurance and her subsequent emigration to Panama. The Darwins' cover story unravelled after the Daily Mirror published a photo of the Darwins, taken in Panama in 2006.
Because of Motown's policy of re-issuing tracks on single on a regular basis, there are some anomalies in the inclusion of tracks. Jimmy Ruffin's 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?' is included in both Volume 1 and Volume 9, as it was a UK hit single twice. Mary Wells' hit 'My Guy' features on Volume 7, released in 1972, after it had been a substantive reissue hit, despite being first released in 1964 and similarly 'Baby Love' is included on Volume 9, as it had been re- issued in 1974, ten years after it first charted in the UK for The Supremes. The original albums were made by EMI under licence from Motown. EMI also made 8-track cartridge recordings of the early releases.
Owen reprised the role in the film's sequel, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? (1999). Owen played Taun We in George Lucas' Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Nee Alavar in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, and a cameo role in Steven Spielberg's A.I. Whilst playing a reoccurring role in WB's Angel, Owen played supporting and cameo roles in multiple international independent films. Highlights include the NZ Canadian co-production, Nemesis Game, Garth Maxwell's When Love Comes, Rolf de Heer's acclaimed Dance Me to My Song, Vincent Ward's acclaimed Rain of the Children, and US thrillers Alyce Kills & The Well. She played leading roles in the Australian TV drama series, Medivac in 1998, and recently in ABC's, The Straits, a multi-ethnic crime family drama.
Over two series of Survivors, Addison portrayed the character Sarah Boyer as the character metamorphosed from a self-serving person into an integrated member of the core family of characters and eventually a self-less person who sacrificed herself for the good of humanity. In the long running BBC series Casualty Addison played the character Joanne Coldwell over thirteen episodes. Other television performances by Robyn Addison include Lightning Strikes, Inspector George Gently (Series 2 Episode 3 - "Gently in the Blood"), The Street (Season 2 Episode 6) and Dalziel and Pascoe ("Demons on Our Shoulders" – Season 12 Episode 1&2). She also played Anna, Christopher Mead's "Date" in episode 17 of season 5 in Waterloo Road and also appeared in episode 18, Where Chris ended their relationship leaving her broken-hearted.
Temuera Derek Morrison (born 26 December 1960) is a New Zealand actor who first gained recognition for his role as Dr. Hone Ropata on the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. He gained critical acclaim after starring as Jake "The Muss" Heke in the 1994 film Once Were Warriors and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. He became internationally well-known after portraying Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and his clone troopers in both Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). Belleur acts the braggadocio, quarreling with everyone and attempting to overawe Rosalura by sheer intimidation; it seems to work -- until a crowd of Rosalura's female friends jeer and ridicule him unmercifully, calling him a "mighty dairymaid in men's clothes" and "Some tinker's trull with a beard glued on." Belleur is so upset he seems half-crazed; he demands that strangers ridicule and kick him in the street. Pinac pretends to have obtained a prestigious and advantageous new love, an English gentlewoman; but Lillia- Bianca exposes her as a courtezan who's been hired to play the part for the occasion. It is reported that Oriana, broken-hearted, has lost her reason and is dying, but this is a trick staged by Oriana to provoke Mirabel's pity and hence his love.
The hare in African folk tales is a trickster; some of the stories about the hare were retold among African slaves in America, and are the basis of the Br'er Rabbit stories. The hare appears in English folklore in the saying "as mad as a March hare" and in the legend of the White Hare that alternatively tells of a witch who takes the form of a white hare and goes out looking for prey at night or of the spirit of a broken-hearted maiden who cannot rest and who haunts her unfaithful lover. Many cultures, including the Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican, see a hare in the pattern of dark patches in the moon (see Moon rabbit). The constellation Lepus is also taken to represent a hare.
His lawyer, Juan Ponce Enrile, a son of his old friend and attorney, the Spanish mestizo Alfonso Ponce Enrile (father of Armida Siguion Reyna and Irma Potenciano), has since not been able to help him speak to President Marcos even when the latter was the designated Defense Minister. Neither can his nephew, Danding Cojuangco, a Marcos associate, could do anything to help Cojuangco. He himself comforted his old uncle, saying "Tio Pepe, huwag na po kayong umiyak" (Uncle Pepe, please do not cry). One of his lasting words to his family was "Kawawa naman si Cory" (Oh how pitiful Cory is!), as he died broken hearted to see this daughter of his harassed and harangued by the Marcos government for being the woman Ninoy Aquino chose as his wife.
Babb estimates that the studio version was recorded "around that time, probably in 1997". The other cover is "It's All Too Much" (originally by The Beatles, although this version was also inspired by Steve Hillage's cover in his 1976 album L), which was recorded in 2009 during the sessions for Three Cheers for the Broken-Hearted, and performed "as an encore piece for a few live shows". For Untold Tales, Glass Hammer replaced their original recording's pipe organ with a Hammond organ, and created a new bass line. "Babb's Bach" is a recording from 2008 in which Babb performs a re-arranged instrumental version of an excerpt of the 1731 church cantata Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140 by Johann Sebastian Bach, namely the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen.
On a drunken night out with his friends, a broken-hearted young man is swayed into going to the countryside with them for a getaway. But when he gets there, he finds that not only have none of them showed up, but the tiny seaside town is shuttered - no shops are open, no tourists are around, the beach is freezing, and there’s no cell phone signal. Unable (and reluctant) to return to Seoul, he finds himself in the company of some very unusual locals and, subject to the rigid rules of Korean drinking culture, on an increasingly strange odyssey nursing a never- ending hangover. Ushering in a new era of independent filmmaking in South Korea, Daytime Drinking is a comedy in the spirit of Stranger Than Paradise and Sideways, but with a distinctly Korean twist.
Frustrated as he wrote the song, Goodrum had almost thrown "You Needed Me" away. It was recorded by Anne Murray for her 1978 album, Let's Keep It That Way and peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It won Song of the Year at the Academy of Country Music awards, earned Murray the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 21st Grammy Awards, and spent 36 weeks on the Adult Contemporary charts, setting a record for longevity which remained unbroken until 1995. During the same time period, Goodrum wrote five other hit songs: Murray's "Broken Hearted Me" (1979); Michael Johnson's "Bluer Than Blue" (1978); England Dan & John Ford Coley's "It's Sad to Belong" (1977), and Gene Cotton's "Before My Heart Finds Out" (1978).
Rizzo and Kenickie attempt to spite one another by bringing Leo and Cha-Cha as their dates. Danny and Sandy go together and dance well during the chaotic hand jive contest ("Born to Hand Jive"); just before it ends, Sonny pulls Sandy off the dance floor and Cha-Cha cuts in to win with Danny, causing Sandy to leave the event broken-hearted. Danny tries to make it up to Sandy by taking her to a drive-in theater and giving her his ring to wear ("Alone at the Drive-in Movies"), but Sandy leaves in anger after he forces himself on her ("Sandy"). Meanwhile, Rizzo fears she is pregnant after missing a period and confides in Marty, but Marty tells Sonny and he inadvertently spreads the rumor to Kenickie, the apparent father, though Rizzo denies this to him.
Another slogan remembered by some residents, was: "broken-hearted disillusioned desperates against meanness and nastiness, greed and stupidity." Another significant location in Camperdown Park is the various rear walls and back fences of the buildings at the southern edge of the park that face onto Australia Street. A large continuous mural (above, centre) featuring many pictoral designs and elaborate tags, has been painted along the side wall of the large commercial building that faces the Courthouse Hotel, and most of the other fences and walls in this area of the park now have murals or decorative tags, although these have changed a number of times in recent years. The two examples above illustrate this—the mural second from right (photographed in March 2007) had been entirely painted over by July 2007 and replaced by the mural shown above, far right.
In 1979 she topped the Easy Listening/AC chart with "I Just Fall in Love Again" in February and March, "Shadows in the Moonlight" in June, and "Broken Hearted Me" in October and November, and spent a total of 13 weeks in the top spot. The country rock band Poco had the longest unbroken run at number one during the year, spending seven consecutive weeks in the top spot with "Crazy Love". The song was eventually knocked from the top of the chart in the issue of Billboard dated April 28 by "I Never Said I Love You" by Orsa Lia. One of the most obscure acts to top the chart, Lia never placed any other songs on any of Billboards charts, and there is no record of her having released another album after her self-titled 1979 debut.
Hischak, p. 38 A 1940 revival with Burgess Meredith and Ingrid Bergman was seen by both Hammerstein and Rodgers.Nolan, p. 153 Glazer, in introducing the English translation of Liliom, wrote of the play's appeal: > And where in modern dramatic literature can such pearls be matched—Julie > incoherently confessing to her dead lover the love she had always been > ashamed to tell; Liliom crying out to the distant carousel the glad news > that he is to be a father; the two thieves gambling for the spoils of their > prospective robbery; Marie and Wolf posing for their portrait while the > broken-hearted Julie stands looking after the vanishing Liliom, the thieves' > song ringing in her ears; the two policemen grousing about pay and pensions > while Liliom lies bleeding to death; Liliom furtively proffering his > daughter the star he has stolen for her in heaven.
" According to Robbins, the track is "positive" and explains "what really moves you on through this life." Spirit Dancer's 10th song, "I'll Always Love You" is the only track on the album to feature lead vocals from Dave Robbins instead of Henry Paul, who both penned the song along with country songwriter Pat Bunch, who previously authored songs for the band including the single "I Need You All the Time" from the 2000 Greatest Hits. Although Robbins described it as a "different little spot on the record" Paul praised Robbins' vocals stating that it suited his "rather appealing view of love." The final track of the album, "Leavin' the Land" is about the band's recovery from the loss of Van Stephenson, and its departure from the metaphorical "land of the broken hearted" while living above the "status quo.
" The Camel arrived and gave the boy rag doll a ride to the Castle where he applied for a name. When the Boy Rag Doll finally found the Girl Rag Doll in her hospital room in a broken-hearted sleep, he had with him the Certificate of Names; he sang the title song, "Raggedy Ann", and after telling her how much he loved her, she woke up, giving Raggedy Andy his first love hug. Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy skipped down the Castle's wedding aisle where they had their hands sewn together so they would never again be separated. The story ends with the little girl sadly understanding why the dolls could not be sold separately; she turned to leave for home, but the toyshop owner stopped her and said, "Just because I cannot sell you one doll, does not mean I can not give you both of them.
Eric "Red Mouth" Gebhardt is an American singer-songwriter, from Alabama (born in Vernon, Texas) who plays a blend of southern music that blends punk, post punk, proto punk, blues, broken-hearted honky tonk, Stonesy rock and roll, with gospel music. Blues In London described his sound as: > "a joyfully chaotic reworking of the common sources... identifiably adhering > to bluesey, country, folky, forms but happy to accept (actively embrace) a > loose interpretation of the detail... a great blend of sasparila americana > styles pulled together without meandering to 'authenticity', and played with > a wit and verve that honour it's antecedents whilst managing a contemporary > freshness." Gebhardt started in a band dubbed The Throwaways who still perform every so often around the north Alabama area. The band's most notable achievement was a one-off release with High Society Records, an independent record label in Hamburg, Germany.
Ode to Echo is the fourteenth studio album by American progressive rock band Glass Hammer, released on March 11, 2014. It is the first album with drummer Aaron Raulston, and marks the return of former vocalists Carl Groves and Susie Bogdanowicz. Groves wasn't featured in a Glass Hammer album since Culture of Ascent in 2007, and Bogdanowicz's last album with the band was Three Cheers for the Broken-Hearted in 2009; in the three previous albums, all lead vocals were sung by new singer Jon Davison. Ode to Echo is also notable for featuring all the full-time vocalists in Glass Hammer history with Groves, Davison, Bogdanowicz, session member (and former full-time vocalist) Walter Moore sharing lead vocals, while band leaders Steve Babb and Fred Schendel (who sang lead vocals in some of the band's works) and original Glass Hammer singer Michelle Young provided backing vocals.
East's self-released debut album, Flowers of the Broken Hearted in 2012, was made up of two records: one record which he recorded in Los Angeles with producer Chris Seefried and session players Charlie Gillingham, Don Heffington and Rob Wasserman, and a second recorded in Nashville with Tim Brennan and Daniel Scobey. The record is 15 songs long, and is made up of two CDs each with their own music genre: The White disc is made up of a progressive soul and Americana vibe, while the Red disc is darker and has more of a rock sound. He funded the record as a PledgeMusic project, with a percentage of the proceeds going to Water Aid, a nonprofit organization that brings water to communities that do not have clean drinking water. East's major label debut album, Delilah, was released by Low Country Sound, an imprint of Elektra in July 2015.
The play was transferred to the Bush Theatre by Jenny Killick, was unanimously disliked by the critics,London Theatre Record, 1989 Vol IX issue 13 and the theatre was empty once again. Consequently, it was not until a further three years later that two of Motton's plays were produced, almost simultaneously: A Message for the Broken Hearted, directed by Ramin Gray, March 1993, at the Liverpool Everyman; and The Terrible Voice of Satan, directed by James MacDonald, July 1993, at the Royal Court, now being run by Stephen Daldry. (Motton and Gray formed the Ducks and Geese Theatre Company to bring the former play to London, at the Battersea Arts Centre. They subsequently worked together directing a number of Motton's plays in France.) Both plays met with almost universal disapproval by the critics,The Independent, 16 March 1993London Theatre Record (1993) Vol XIII,issues 6 and 14 and Motton's brief career in Britain was effectively over.
Following her performance at The X Factor fifth season finale with winner Alexandra Burke, the album moved up to number nine on December 27, 2008. Alvarado made her show business debut at the age of seven when she joined her family's dance troupe,Trini alvarado biography at the Turner Classic Movies website and that led to roles on stage, including the role of Melinda in Elizabeth Swados' Broadway musical Runaways in 1978. Several media sources reported outpourings of grief among Newcastle fans though eye-witness Ian Cusack at When Saturday Comes later claimed: "I saw the stage-managed outpourings of false emotion at first hand. The composition of the crowd of around 400 that had gathered at the ground was a sociologist’s wet dream: the retired, the unemployed, the terminally lazy and the socially inadequate..As the untidy throng assembled outside the ground it became clear that this could not be a representative sample of Newcastle fans, if such a thing exists, and that they could be manipulated into acting the way the media wanted...photographers organized posed shots of supposedly broken-hearted youths clinging onto each other for support and news crews interviewed sobbing fans whose expressions often erred too close to smirks to be totally convincing." McDermott and Arthur Cox were placed in temporary charge of the first team. The board had selected Bobby Robson as their first choice replacement and approached him to offer the position.
There is a tradition that in boyhood Cristóvão fell in love with a beautiful child and rich heiress, D. Maria Brandão, and in 1526 married her clandestinely, but parental opposition prevented the ratification of the marriage. Family pride, it is said, drove the father of Cristóvão to keep his son under strict surveillance in his own house for five years, while the lady's parents, objecting to the youth's small means, put her into the Cistercian convent of Lorvão, and there endeavoured to wean her heart from him by the accusation that he coveted her fortune more than her person. Their arguments and the promise of a good match ultimately prevailed, and in 1534 D. Maria left the convent to marry D. Luís de Silva, captain of Tangier, while the broken-hearted Cristóvão told his sad story in some beautiful lyrics and particularly in the eclogue Chrisfal. He had been the disciple and friend of the poets Bernardim Ribeiro and Francisco de Sá de Miranda, and when his great disappointment came, Falcão laid aside poetry and entered on a diplomatic career.
In addition, "Don't Make Me Over", "(They Long to Be) Close to You" and "Walk On By" have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. David's work with other composers includes Albert Hammond for Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias's "To All the Girls I've Loved Before"; Sarah Vaughan's "Broken Hearted Melody", with Sherman Edwards; the 1962 Joanie Sommers hit "Johnny Get Angry" also with Edwards; and "99 Miles From L.A." with Albert Hammond, recorded by Hammond and later Art Garfunkel. With Paul Hampton, David co-wrote the country standard "Sea of Heartbreak", a hit for Don Gibson and others. David contributed lyrics to three James Bond film themes: in addition to "The Look of Love" from Casino Royale with Bacharach, he wrote "We Have All the Time in the World", with John Barry and sung by Louis Armstrong for the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and in 1979, "Moonraker", also with Barry, sung by Bond regular Shirley Bassey for the film of the same name.
Discussing the storyline, scriptwriter Colin Brake has indicated that at first it was not clear to the audience whether Nick had reformed or not, but as the weeks passed it became obvious that he did intend to kill his mother, as he was shown practising a fake suicide note in Dot's handwriting – a foil to cover the intended murder; according to Brake, Dot remained blithely and perhaps purposefully ignorant to his wrongdoing. The episode which culminated the storyline, written by P.J. Hammond, was set solely in Dot's house and featured an unusually small cast consisting of Nick, Dot, Nick's estranged father Charlie, Dot's close friend Ethel Skinner and Alistair the fake priest. At the last moment, in what Altman has called the "one time we saw a glimmer of Nick’s good side", Nick backed out of his plan and stopped Dot from eating the poisoned meal he had intended to kill her with. Once again Dot was left alone, broken-hearted at what her own son had been prepared to do to her.

In 1755, at the age of nineteen, Ogilvie entered King's College, Aberdeen. On graduating in 1759 he was appointed Master of the Grammar School at Cullen, Morayshire—remaining there a year. He then attended Glasgow University in the winter session of 1760–61 and Edinburgh University the following winter. While he was at Glasgow, studying under Dr. Joseph Black, the engineer inventor James Watt was demonstrating his scientific discoveries at the University and Adam Smith occupied the Chair of Moral Philosophy.
Verse 1 Far away on the hills of old New Hampshire, Many years ago we parted, Ruth and I; By the stream where we wandered in the gloaming, It was there I kissed my love a sad goodbye She clung to me and trembled when I told her, And pleadingly she begged of me to stay; We parted, and I left her broken hearted, In the old New Hampshire village far away. Refrain Now the sunshine lingers there, And the roses bloom as fair In the wildwood where together we would roam. In the village churchyard near Sleeps the one I loved so dear On the hills of my old New Hampshire home Verse 2 In my dreams by the stream last night I wandered, And I thought my love was standing by my side; Once again then I told her that I loved her, Once again she promised she would be my bride; And as I stooped to kiss her I awakened, I called her, but she was not there to hear; My heart lies buried with her 'neath the willow, In the old New Hampshire home I love so dear.
After the success of "Snowbird", she had a number of subsequent singles that charted both pop and country simultaneously. During the 1970s and 1980s, her hits included Kenny Loggins's "Danny's Song" (1972) (peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100), "A Love Song" (1973), "He Thinks I Still Care", The Beatles' "You Won't See Me" (1974); her all-time biggest Hot 100 hit "You Needed Me" (1978), "I Just Fall in Love Again", "Shadows in the Moonlight", "Broken Hearted Me" (1979), "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You" (1980), which hit #64 on the Hot 100 and #23 on the Country chart, The Monkees' 1967 No. 1 hit "Daydream Believer", "Could I Have This Dance" from the Urban Cowboy motion picture soundtrack (1980), "Blessed Are the Believers" (1981), "Another Sleepless Night" (1982), "A Little Good News" (1983), "Just Another Woman in Love", "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do", and "Time, Don't Run Out on Me" (1985). She performed "O Canada" at the first American League baseball game played in Canada on April 7, 1977, when the Toronto Blue Jays played the Chicago White Sox at Exhibition Stadium. She reprised the Canadian national anthem prior to the first World Series game held in Canada, Game 3 of the 1992 World Series at the SkyDome.
