Woodsheds were an essential element of early ranger stations, providing shelter from the snow for work and storage. The fire cache, which is used to house fire-fighting tools, was built in 1928 and used for accommodations for a time, then converted to fire cache use. It is substantially similar to the Kintla Lake fire cache. There is no utility power at Belly River.

The Guide's House is a small wood frame structure measuring with a side gable asphalt roof. It is divided into two sleeping chambers, and has no modern amenities (plumbing or electricity), and was used by the Riches as housing for seasonal workers on the property. Of the other buildings on the property, two woodsheds and a workshop were built by the Riches. The other structures, including the Guest House and Fly Shop, are additions by later owners.

The Park Hotel is located on a plot along the Michigamme River covered with pine trees. The site contains a two-story log hotel near the street and 15 stone cabins along the edge of the river. It also contains two open woodsheds and the foundation and lower walls for an unfinished house. The hotel is a two-story hipped roof structure with walls of large vertical pine logs sitting on a concrete foundation and double-hung three-over-one wood windows.

The settlement has an elevation of 2,400 feet and is just east of the crest of the Cascade Range. It is wedged between the railway on the north, Cabin Creek, a tributary of the Yakima River, and Cabin Mountain, which has a peak of 4,500 feet. The company store Buildings remaining from the original camp include the sawmill, the company store, about 24 one-story cabins with associated woodsheds and outhouses, and a schoolhouse, the only building in the original camp which was painted. The workers' cabins were constructed from unpainted lumber provided free by the mill.

The contract was award to the Normile concern and entered into on March 11, 1898. The contract required the project to be finished by December 31, 1898. The site for the project had not yet been purchased by the government, and the contract stated that no work was to be done until the government notified the contractor of the acquisition, after which construction was to begin within 10 days. Certain portions of the project, including the lock keeper's dwelling, woodsheds, walks and fences, were to be completed within 60 days after the contractor's receiving the notification.

Devices generating high levels of ozone, some of which use ionization, are used to sanitize and deodorize uninhabited buildings, rooms, ductwork, woodsheds, boats and other vehicles. In the U.S., air purifiers emitting low levels of ozone have been sold. This kind of air purifier is sometimes claimed to imitate nature's way of purifying the air without filters and to sanitize both it and household surfaces. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has declared that there is "evidence to show that at concentrations that do not exceed public health standards, ozone is not effective at removing many odor-causing chemicals" or "viruses, bacteria, mold, or other biological pollutants".
