After his demise, his Estate was taken over by the Government of India under 'Enemy Properties Act'. His wife Rani Kaniz Abid and his only son and heir Raja Mohammad Amir Mohammad Khan remained an Indian citizen and fought a case for recovery of their ancestral Estate for reclaiming their heritage worth millions of rupees and the case is, at present, in high profile legal dispute in India. He won the case after 37 herculean years winning through district court, High Court of Bombay, and the Supreme Court of India which gave a landmark judgement in 2005 ordering "vacant possession" to his properties.

The Wests Tigers had a poor start to the season, losing their first four matches (three of them by very narrow margins.) The Tigers finally won their first game of the season in Round 5 against Cronulla Sharks, at Campbelltown Stadium, by 2 points in golden point extra time. Although Benji Marshall again injured a shoulder in round 8, the Tigers continued winning through to round 12 when they lost to Parramatta by 30 points. Injuries to key players continued throughout the season - Benji Marshall out for eleven rounds, Brett Hodgson out for seven rounds with a fractured cheek, and Todd Payten, Paul Whatuira and Bryce Gibbs all missing several games. After spending sixteen rounds in the top eight, the Tigers dropped down to ninth position when they lost to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in round 24.

Nicholson, needing a good year to hold on to his tour card, made a good start by qualifying for the UK Open, where he eventually lost to Paul Hogan 10–6 in the third round. He continued his form by winning through to a European tour semi-final, where he was beaten by Adrian Lewis; this run effectively sealed his spot in the European Championships, as the 32nd seed, and the World Championships, due to there being more spots open to Pro Tour qualifiers this year. Nicholson made his return to the European Championship, where he was up against the top seed Michael van Gerwen. He made a good account of himself by opening with back-to- back twelve-darters with a 127 checkout on the bullseye, but failed to hit darts to go 3–2 up, and failed to win another leg; he lost 6–2.

After dominating domestically thorughout the season, a third league title in a row was sealed with two games to spare in 2016, A chance at a 'Double Double' was spurned, however, when they lost in the FAI Cup Final to a goal scored in the last minute of extra time by Cork City F.C.. David McMillan in action in the 2016–17 Europa League. The 2016–17 Champions League saw the club qualify for the Champions League play-off round, after they first defeated FH of Iceland, then came from a goal down in the tie to defeat BATE 3–0 in Tallaght Stadium, winning through 3–1 on aggregate. Dundalk drew Legia Warsaw, with the first leg played in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in front of a crowd of 30,417. They suffered a 2–0 defeat in the home leg, but shocked Legia in the return leg by taking a 1–0 lead through Robbie Benson's volley.

On 1 January 2019 Kelly was announced as assistant coach to Uwe Rösler at Swedish giants Malmö FF. Before the start of the domestic league season, Malmö were beaten over two legs in the last 32 knockout round by eventual Europa League winners Chelsea FC. In Kelly's first full season in Allsvenskan, Malmö finished 2nd behind Djurgården by 1 point. Malmö continued to be successful in Europe, again winning through an 8-game qualifying route to the group stages of the 2019/20 Europa League. Despite being drawn in a tough group alongside: Dynamo Kiev, FC Copenhagen and FC Lugano, the Swedish side only lost one game and won the group after defeating Kiev 4–3 at Swedbank Stadion and Copenhagen 1–0 away in Denmark. By qualifying for the last 32 knockout stages of the Europa League in consecutive years, the club made history as the only Swedish side to achieve this feat in the modern era.

John Flynn took over as Chairman. At the end of 1996–97, Harry Dixon, another long standing official at the club, stood down as treasurer, but stayed on as the club's president. Kevin McCormick took over as treasurer. The club made their first and so far only visit to Wembley Stadium on 9 May 1998, by winning through to the final of the FA Vase, under the management of Peter Quigley and his assistant Tony Heslop. They reached the final, beating Taunton Town 5–4 on aggregate in a two legged semi-final. In reaching the final, Tow Law, with its population of only 2,200, became the smallest town to ever reach a Wembley final. The team took around 4,000 supporters with them down to London, about twice the population of Tow Law at the time. They were beaten in the final 1–0 by Tiverton Town. Whitley Bay in January 2009 They finished second in the league in 1998–99 and 2001–02.

No team managed to score more than two goals in the League against the U's but a mid-table spot was always on the cards. A tricky set of draws in the FA Cup had Colchester winning through their travels to Mansfield, Rushden & Diamonds and Hull, although the Mansfield tie required a replay, before being paired with Premiership Blackburn at Ewood Park, but lost 3–0. With 15th place in 2004–05 season considered a backward step, U's fans became increasingly frustrated at Parkinson's 4–5–1 tactics at Layer Road. The season kick started with the arrival of his old Reading teammate Jamie Cureton on loan from Swindon. U's were in the top four by Christmas and their 12-match unbeaten run was halted at Swindon on Boxing Day. Parkinson's side simply embarked on another run of seven straight wins, 10 if Cup ties are included, and topped the table in January 2006.

Following promotion from the NCELP Scarborough Athletic competed as members of the Northern Premier League with the club entered to play in the Northern Premier League Division One South for the 2013–14 season. The club also entered the FA Trophy for the first time winning through three ties to eventually go out at the 3rd Round Qualifying stage. Boro made a slow start to life in the NPL, with just one win from their first seven matches; however they did reach the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Cup for the first time. However, from late September onwards results showed a dramatic improvement, and twelve wins from the next fifteen league fixtures lifted Boro into play-off contention by the start of the new year. Results were inconsistent from January onwards and by the end of March Boro were realistically out of the play-off chase & the season ended with the club in 7th place. Prior to the start of the 2014–15 season Scarborough Athletic were moved laterally from the Northern Premier League Division One South to compete in the Northern Premier League Division One North.

The Spartans' most successful Scottish Cup run was in 2003–04, when they defeated Buckie Thistle 6–1 in front of a crowd of 450 in Edinburgh in the first round, before defeating Alloa Athletic 5–3 in a replay (the first game had been drawn 3–3) in Edinburgh in the second round. They then defeated Arbroath (who had been in the SFL First Division only the year before) 4–1 at Gayfield Park in the third round, before being beaten 4–0 at home by Scottish Premier League team Livingston in front of a full house of 3,000 fans at City Park. Two seasons later in 2005–06, Spartans defeated Berwick Rangers, Lossiemouth and Queen's Park in the first three rounds of the Scottish Cup. They drew 0–0 with First Division side St Mirren in the last sixteen in front of 3,326 fans at City Park, earning a replay at Love Street, where they lost 3–0. In the 2008–09 Scottish Cup, Spartans' cup run sent them to Pollok, winning through a replay, they then beat Annan Athletic 2–1.

At 2018 PDC Q-School he tried to win a tour card, however he missed out on the points table by virtue of countback. He played on the Challenge Tour and Development Tour throughout the year. As a result of his Development Tour exploits, he qualified for the 2018 PDC World Youth Championship and progressed through the early group stage. He managed to reach the semi finals, including a victory over the #1 seed Luke Humphries but lost out 6–3 to eventual runner up Martin Schindler. He also tried to win a tour card in 2019 Q-School. He came in 10th place but unfortunately didn't succeed due to countback. Rydz played extremely well hitting 39 180's in only 105 legs, a higher rate than Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Dave Chisnall in 2018. Rydz qualified for the 2019 UK Open by winning through the amateur qualifier in Wolverhampton, but lost to Jamie Hughes in the first round. On 21 April 2019 he won his first PDC title after picking up the eighth Development Tour title of 2019, beating Luke Humphries 5-–in the final.
