For the 2018 season, Hersheypark announced that 2 new water attractions would be in this area: Breaker's Edge; a hydro-magnetic coaster slide that also counts as the park's 14th coaster, and Whitecap Racer; the longest mat racer slide in the world which features 2 sets of twisting enclosed tubes. Breaker's Edge uses the station that was formerly used by Roller Soaker.

He starred in the 1977 CBC Television sitcom Custard Pie as Leo Strauss, the manager of a musical group of that name,Peter Kenter TV North, Whitecap Books, 2001, p. 35 but the series was not popular or critically well received. His last film role was in Unfinished Business (1984), a sequel to Nobody Waved Goodbye. In the last year in his life he began to communicate about being a victim of incest at the hands of a family member.

Brewster's 1992 team starred pitcher Billy Wagner, who fanned 79 batters in 44.1 innings of work, and was named the league's Outstanding Pro Prospect. Whitecap players took home hardware as East Division MVP's of the CCBL All-Star Game in three consecutive seasons, as Will Scalzitti claimed the honors in 1991, Wagner in 1992, and Geoff Blum in 1993. Manager Bill Mosiello's 1994 Whitecaps squad starred CCBL Hall of Famer Sean Casey, who hit .338 with 40 RBI, and led all first basemen with a .

Fred Wilson, reeve of the Dundurn RM, Whitecap Dakota First Nation and surrounding municipalities in the area have shown support to convert the provincial park to a regional park. Development of the roadways, cabins, housing, and camping would impart more financial aid to the park, which would be addressed by the communities. The operation of the ski hill for the year of 2007 was estimated at $465,000 by the provincial government. No private sector came forward to run the hill, and it was closed down.

Baby Glacier is in the Bridger Wilderness of Bridger-Teton National Forest, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The glacier is immediately west of the much larger Mammoth Glacier, both of which are on the west side of the Continental Divide in the northern Wind River Range. The glacier occupies a north facing cirque and flows northward from the slopes of Mount Whitecap. Baby Glacier is in the Bridger Wilderness and is part of the largest grouping of glaciers in the American Rocky Mountains.

Robert Manry's wife Virginia and his children, Robin and Douglas, were also there, having been flown in from Willowick, Ohio. During the voyage Manry was knocked overboard by big waves, suffered from hallucinations, repaired a broken rudder in mid-ocean, and was woken up one morning by a surfacing submarine, USS Tench (SS-417). Manry later wrote about the voyage and its preparation in his book Tinkerbelle. Tinkerbelle, a little wooden Old Town "Whitecap" sailboat, was originally built by the Old Town Canoe Co. of Old Town, Maine.

GameFan acclaimed the attention to detail and variety in environment graphics' textures. GamePro opined that "Smooth, polished landscapes and polygon-rich explosions snazz up the graphics, but the backgrounds aren't interactive and actually look fake (especially the frozen whitecap swells in the ocean)." Reviewing the PC version, Allgame called the graphics "decent", but criticised the minimal progress from Soviet Strike which resulted in "a slightly archaic look" and lack of "a feel of individuality". Reviewing Nuclear Strike 64, the website noted that the graphics ably handled numerous explosions and enemies.

Backe starred for Ball High School in Galveston, Texas where he was a two-time team MVP in baseball and earned all-district honors. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 36th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft, but chose to stay close to home and played his collegiate baseball at Galveston College where he earned third-team All- America honors in . Primarily an infielder, he pitched only 26 total innings for the Whitecaps. Other notable Whitecap players on Backe's team included Pete Orr and Seth Foreman.

James Sidney (born 1972) is an author, photographer and filmmaker born in Australia in but was raised in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Sidney's photography has been featured in Canadian Geographic, Nature Canada, Photo Life, The Globe and Mail, The National Post and others. His first coffee-table book, Images of Our Inheritance, published by Whitecap Books, explored Canada's endangered landscapes through essays and photography. His second book, The Warrior's Path, published by Key Porter Books and Shambhala, is a collection of photographs and interviews with historically significant martial artists.

He also became Chair of the Liquor and Gaming Authority, and minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Research Council, Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation, Tourism Saskatchewan, Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan, and Investment Saskatchewan (formerly known as Crown Investments Corp.). In December 2003, he announced that Titanium Corporation Inc. would construct the world's first Mineral Sands Processing Facility at the Regina Research Park (Market News Publishing, 12 December 2003). As chair of the Liquor and Gaming Authority, Cline approved plans for a new casino on the Whitecap Dakota Sioux reserve in August 2004.

They were traditionally served as a flatbread alongside chipped beef or baked beans, but in modern times they are usually eaten for breakfast with butter and maple syrup. According to The Society for the Propagation of the Johnnycake Tradition in Rhode Island, authentic johnnycakes must be made with whitecap flint corn historically grown in the region around Narrangasett Bay. Stone-ground flint corn is not commercially available, but can still be found at a few historic gristmills like the Prescott Farm museum in Middletown. Sweetened coffee-flavored dairy products are popular in Rhode Island.

The freeway was stopped by an alliance of Strathcona community activists and Chinatown businesspeople.

As of September 2017, two elementary schools exist in Stonebridge. On October 22, 2013, the provincial government announced funding for four new P3 facilities in Saskatoon, including a joint-use public/separate school facility in Stonebridge. Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools revealed in June 2015 that the division's new elementary school in Stonebridge would be named after Kateri Tekakwitha, while Saskatoon Public Schools announced in October 2016 that its new elementary school would be named after Chief Whitecap, one of the founders of Saskatoon. Both schools were completed ahead of the 2017-2018 school year.

Various enhanced oil recovery techniques were used in the Weyburn field prior to the introduction of CO2, between the 1970s and 1990s. These include additional vertical drilling, the introduction of horizontal drilling, and the use of waterfloods to increase pressure in the reservoir. In October 2000, Cenovus (formerly Pan Canadian, Encana) began injecting significant amounts of carbon dioxide into the Weyburn field in order to boost oil production. Cenovus was the operator and held the largest share of the 37 current partners in the oilfield prior to the sale of local assets to Whitecap in 2017.

Members of the supporting groups between the two clubs even jointly celebrated together after Vancouver eliminated Portland from the 2010 USL Playoffs due to the shared move to MLS the next year. One reason for the less-intense rivalry for the time being could be simple geography (Portland is closer to Seattle than Vancouver) or Vancouver not attaining a similar level of sustained MLS success as the two other Cascadia clubs. While Vancouver also has rivalries with other Canadian teams, many Whitecap players point to the Timbers being their biggest rival. As of 2020, Portland holds a 12–7–7 W-D-L advantage over Vancouver in MLS play.

The ridge's northwestern side forms the southeast rim of the Bridge River Canyon, which extends from the area of Terzaghi Dam (originally known as Mission Dam) to Moha. The ridge's very far eastern end forms the north wall of the short canyon connecting the foot of Seton Lake and merging with the canyon of Cayoosh Creek known historically as Nkoomptch, or the Nkoomptch ("water crossing over"). An extension of the ridge west of the pass ends at Nosebag Mountain. To the west of Nosebag and Whitecap Creek, which runs south of it to join the Seton River in Seton Portage, is the Bendor Range.

The group wore white hoods to conceal their identities and used Ku Klux Klan-like tactics, although they were not considered a racist entity. The Whitecaps initially threatened women accused of prostitution, and the group began launching nightly attacks in the mid-1890s. In 1893, Sevierville physician J.A. Henderson took over an anti-Whitecap group, which he renamed the "Blue Bills." The two vigilante groups clashed at Henderson Springs in 1894, with deaths occurring on both sides. In 1896, the Whitecaps' murder of a young Sevierville couple led to widespread outrage, and in 1898, the Tennessee State Legislature banned "extra-legal conspiracies" and vigilante groups.

The Seton River originates at the foot of Anderson Lake and runs initially for only 3 km to the head of Seton Lake. From the foot of Seton Lake to the Fraser its remaining course is 5 km in length, with much of its flow diverted via the Seton Canal to the Seton Powerhouse (also known because of its location as the Lillooet Powerhouse). The river's course is generally eastward to join the Fraser River at the town of Lillooet. The upper section between the lakes was historically known as the Portage River or Seton Portage River; its flow is augmented by Whitecap Creek, from the northwest midway along its length, and by Spider Creek nearer Seton Lake.

In 1881 Lake became the Commissioner of the Temperance Colonization Society of Toronto survey party that was formed to take advantage of a government land sale and established the colony. In 1882 Lake chose the site that site for the settlement that would eventually become the city of Saskatoon. He is sometimes referred to as the "father of Saskatoon".

The match was watched by an average of 541,000 viewers in Canada, with a total of 2.5 million people tuning in for at least a portion of the match, on TSN and RDS making it the most-viewed MLS game ever in the country. Vancouver played their first road match of the season on March 17 against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center. Captain Jay DeMerit scored the lone goal, his first as a Whitecap, of the match with a header off a corner kick in the 68th minute. Goalkeepers Joe Cannon and Brad Knighton combined for the clean sheet and the Whitecaps won their first away match in their MLS history.

Its shafts plunge a mile beneath sea level under the range, starting at 3500' above. The name "Bendor" is believed by some locally to be a Gaelic- French hybrid - ben d'or - mountain of gold (note Welsh: Pen d'awr means the same thing) - and while it does mean that, more or less, the name was conferred in honour of Bend Or, a famous racehorse of the 1890s. The range has only a few small icefields, but a number of extremely high and (for climbers) difficult peaks. The highest is Whitecap Mountain 2918 m (9573 ft), which is visible from the Lillooet end of Seton Lake but, as it is located near the heart of the range, invisible from the towns and lakes around its perimeter.

Gogebic County and neighboring Iron County, across the state line in Wisconsin, are heavily promoted during the ski season as "Big Snow Country". Heavy lake-effect snow from cold northerly winds blowing across the relatively warm waters of nearby Lake Superior result in large annual accumulations of up to 200 inches (5.1 m) of snow in northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan. The steep terrain of the Gogebic Range enhances the lake effect snowfall by providing orographic lift to the air mass, usually providing ample snowfall for winter recreation activities including snowmobiling, Cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing. Several ski resorts are located along the Gogebic Range including Whitecap Mountain in Iron County and Indianhead Mountain, Big Powderhorn Mountain, and Blackjack Ski Resort in Gogebic County.

In the first decade of the two clubs playing in Major League Soccer together, Portland and Vancouver have a friendlier rivalry than that of other match-ups in the Cascadia Cup, such as Portland and Seattle. One reason for the less-intense rivalry for the time being could be simple geography (Portland is closer to Seattle than Vancouver) or Vancouver not attaining a similar level of sustained MLS success as the two other Cascadia clubs. On May 26, 1896 in Victoria, British Columbia, a streetcar crowded with 143 holidaymakers on their way to attend celebrations of Queen Victoria's birthday crashed through Point Ellice Bridge (today usually referred to as the Bay Street Bridge) into the Upper Harbour. 55 men, women, and children were killed in the accident,Henry Ewert, The Story of the B. C. Electric Railway Company, North Vancouver, Whitecap Books, 1986 making it one of the worst transit disasters in British Columbia. Only passengers on the left side of the streetcar escaped. On June 12, 1896, a coroner's jury concluded that the tramway operator, the Consolidated Electric Railway Company, was responsible for the disaster because it allowed its streetcar to be loaded with a much greater weight of passengers than the bridge was designed to support.

A go-kart track in Chilliwack, a youth centre in Maple Ridge established in October 2001, and the Emergency Department at the Ridge Meadows Hospital inaugurated eight years later by British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell and the Minister of Health George Abbott are all named after Moore. Moore was honoured by the organizers of the Molson Indy Vancouver with the words "Courage, Greg Moore No. 99" written in large white block letters across the start/finish line of the Concord Pacific Place temporary street circuit in 2000. Starting from that year's race until its discontinuation in 2004, the pole position starter received the Greg Moore Pole Award. A book Greg Moore: A Legacy of Spirit written by journalists Dan Proudfoot, Jim Taylor and Gordon Kirby was published by Whitecap Books on August 30, 2000.

SaskPower's Boundary Dam Power Station project retrofitted its coal- fired power station in 2014 with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology. The plant will capture 1 million tonnes of annually, which it sold to Cenovus Energy for enhanced oil recovery at its Weyburn Oil Field, prior to the sale of Cenovus's Saskatchewan assets in 2017 to Whitecap Resources. The project is expected to inject a net 18 million ton CO2 and recover an additional of oil, extending the life of the oil field by 25 years . There is a projected 26+ million tonnes (net of production) of to be stored in Weyburn, plus another 8.5 million tonnes (net of production) stored at the Weyburn- Midale Carbon Dioxide Project, resulting in a net reduction in atmospheric CO2 by CO2 storage in the oilfield.

The IEAGHG Weyburn-Midale CO2 Monitoring and Storage Project is an international collaborative scientific study to assess the technical feasibility of CO2 storage in geological formations with a focus on oil reservoirs, together with the development of world leading best practices for project implementation. The project itself began in 2000 and runs until the end of 2011 when a best practices manual for the transitioning of CO2-EOR operations into long-term storage operations will be released. The research project accesses data from the actual CO2-enhanced oil recovery operations in the Weyburn oil field (formerly operated by Cenovus Energy of Calgary before its Saskatchewan operations were sold to Whitecap Resources in 2017), and after the year 2005 from the adjacent Midale field (operated by Apache Canada). These EOR operations are independent of the research program.

Slugger Aaron Judge played for the Whitecaps in 2012. Brewster qualified for the postseason in six of ten years in the 2010s. The 2012 Whitecaps featured future major league all-stars Jeff McNeil and Aaron Judge. Judge, a towering 6-foot-7 slugger, clouted 5 homers and batted .270 for Brewster. In 2014, Whitecap Wade Wass set CCBL single game records by crushing two grand slams and driving in nine runs against Wareham in a game nationally telecast by Fox College Sports. Manager Jamie Shevchik joined the Whitecaps in 2015, and led the club to a second-place finish and playoff berth in his first campaign. The 2015 team featured league Outstanding Relief Pitcher Thomas Hackimer and all-star third baseman Nick Senzel, who hit .364 and took home both the league MVP and Outstanding Pro Prospect awards. In 2017, Brewster finished the regular season 21–21–2 and faced three-time defending champion Yarmouth-Dennis in the first round of the playoffs.

Robert and Virginia Manry aboard Curlew Robert and Virginia Manry aboard Curlew Curlew in 2017 Tinkerbelle at the Western Reserve Historical Museum in 2017 Robert Manry (June 2, 1918 – February 21, 1971) was a copy editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer who in 1965 sailed from Falmouth, Massachusetts, to Falmouth, Cornwall, England, in a tiny sailboat (an Old Town "Whitecap" built by the Old Town Canoe Co. of Old Town, Maine, which he had extensively modified for the voyage) named Tinkerbelle. Beginning on June 1, 1965, and ending on August 17, the voyage lasted 78 days. At the time, Tinkerbelle was the shortest but not the smallest boat to make a non-stop trip across the Atlantic Ocean (till today the smallest is Lindemann's folding kayak). Manry later wrote about the voyage and its preparation in his book Tinkerbelle, in which the sailor expressed shock and surprise at the huge crowds and armada of small boats that greeted his arrival in Cornwall.

In 2015, internal documents from SaskPower (the crown corporation that is the principal electric utility in Saskatchewan, Canada), revealed that there were "serious design issues" in the carbon capture and storage system at its coal-fired Boundary Dam Power Station, resulting in regular breakdowns and maintenance problems that caused the unit to be operational only 40% of the time. SNC-Lavalin had been contracted to engineer, procure, and build the facility, and the documents asserted that it "has neither the will or the ability to fix some of these fundamental flaws". The low productivity of the plant had in turn meant that SaskPower was only able to sell half of the 800,000 tonnes of captured carbon dioxide that it had contracted to sell to Cenovus Energy for use in enhanced oil recovery at a cost of $25 per tonne. In addition to the lost sales, this meant that SaskPower had been forced to pay Cenovus $12 million in penalties. In 2017, Cenovus sold its Saskatchewan operations to Whitecap Resources.

Koffie played four full seasons with International Allies, scoring 28 goals in all competitions, before leaving the club in 2009 to try to secure a spot with a professional team in Europe. The Swedish side Hammarby IF was at a scouting trip in Ghana when Koffie broke his leg. Hammarby helped him with the operation and the rehabilitation in Sweden. Later on he trained with the Danish club Randers, but was not offered a contract. Having been spotted by Vancouver's director of soccer operations Tom Soehn at a tournament in Ghana six months previously, Koffie relocated to Canada in 2010, and subsequently signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USSF Division 2 Professional League.Whitecaps add four, including MLS signer SalgadoTeen Whitecap Gershon Koffie aims to impress with an eye to MLS He made his Whitecaps debut on September 5, 2010, in a 0-0 tie with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
