Due to a programming oversight, when hunters or warlocks dismissed their pets, those pets would keep any active debuffs when summoned again. Non-player characters could contract the debuff, and could not be killed by it but could still spread it to players; in effect, this turned them into asymptomatic carriers and a form of vector for the debuff. At least three of the game's servers were affected. The difficulty in killing Hakkar may have limited the spread of the disease.

In addition to this he has collaborated on numerous singles and albums by artists like Warlocks, Opaque, Tommy Tee and Wu-Tang Clan's RZA. The album Velkommen Hjem Andres includes the song "Mitt Terningkast" made in collaboration with Diaz's childhood friends Shagrath and Galder of the symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. The song "Hats Off to Aruto", a tribute to another childhood friend, was briefly popular in the United States.

The album has been compared to early Pink Floyd and also to the work of the Velvet Underground and more recent space rock acts, such as Spacemen 3. The UK version of the album features a different track selection and ordering, modified to include tracks from the Warlocks' previous self-titled EP. The album's experimental structure, opening on the US version with a fourteen- minute instrumental and featuring a number of rough jams, would surprise and divide critics, both being remarked on as a highlight, while also being panned as not translating well from live performance to the studio.

The members of WIZ-DOM represent western magery, which includes (but is not limited to) pagan, druidic, and even kabbalistic magic. These will be quite familiar to people in the west, as they go by many terms such as witches, warlocks, wizards, and all other European-influenced symbols of magery. WIZ- DOM members hail from all sects of western magic. Some might even be disguised as clerics of an established religion; although whether they are really part of these religions (WIZ-DOM members have been seen in both Catholic and Protestant denominations), it remains to be seen whether these are genuine alliances or mere cover for their true nature.
Horror comics enjoyed a heyday during the same period, before being subject to governmental and popular approbation. While superheroes had been menaced by warlocks, zombies, and vampires in the employ of Nazis and the Japanese through the war years, it was not until 1947 that the horror genre was established with Avon Periodicals' Eerie, the first out-and-out horror comic. Marvel Comics, Harvey Comics, and American Comics Group hopped aboard with the latter's Adventures into the Unknown (1948) enjoying a twenty-year run. In 1950, EC Comics began publishing The Haunt of Fear, Tales from the Crypt, and The Vault of Horror, with characters meeting gruesomely violent ends.

The nawie, nawki, sometimes also referred to as lalki (all plural forms) was used as a name for the souls of the dead. According to some scholars (namely Stanisław Urbańczyk, among others), this word was a general name for demons arising out of the souls of tragic and premature deaths, killers, warlocks, the murdered and the Drowned Dead. They were said to be hostile and unfavourable towards humans, being jealous of life. In Bulgarian folklore there exists the character of 12 navias that sucked the blood out of women giving birth, whereas in the Ruthenian Primary Chronicle the navias are presented as a demonic personification of the 1092 plague in Polotsk.

Preston played clavinet on the song "Warlocks" for the Red Hot Chili Peppers album Stadium Arcadium (2006). Although very ill by this point, he jumped out of his bed after hearing a tape of the song given to him by the band, recorded his part, and went back to bed. Preston's final recorded contributions were the gospel-tinged organ on the Neil Diamond album 12 Songs (2005), and his keyboard work on The Road to Escondido (2006) by Eric Clapton and J. J. Cale. In late 2005, Preston made his last public performance, in Los Angeles, to publicize the re-release of the 1972 documentary film The Concert for Bangladesh.

Several Christian groups continue to believe in witchcraft and view it as a negative force. Much of the criticism originates among Evangelical Christian groups, especially those which have a fundamentalist tendency, which believe that witchcraft is a danger to children. The 2006 documentary Jesus Camp, which depicts the life of young children attending Becky Fischer's summer camp, shows Fischer condemning the Harry Potter novels and telling the students that "Warlocks are enemies of God" (see also Religious debates over the Harry Potter series). While Fischer's summer camp has sometimes been incorrectly identified as Pentecostal, Fischer is most closely associated with the neo-Pentecostal movement known as the New Apostolic Reformation.
In season two (1999–2000), Phoebe is seen re-entering college and majoring in psychology. She continues to embrace her destiny as a witch and is noted by her sisters as being the best at writing new spells. In the absence of an active power, Phoebe becomes progressively adept at martial arts in order to better fight demons and warlocks. Throughout the season, Phoebe struggles to open herself up to love and attempts to find a love interest who can live up to her "ideal guy" as portrayed in her favorite in-verse movie, Kill It Before It Dies by the character Billy (Chris Payne Gilbert).

Lead guitarist Jerry Miller and drummer Don Stevenson (both formerly of The Frantics, originally based in Seattle) joined guitarist (and son of actress Loretta Young) Peter Lewis (of The Cornells), bassist Bob Mosley (of The Misfits, based in San Diego), and Spence, now on guitar instead of drums. Jerry Miller and Don Stevenson had moved The Frantics from Seattle to San Francisco after a 1965 meeting with Jerry Garcia, then playing with The Warlocks at a bar in Belmont, California. Garcia encouraged them to move to San Francisco.

Casabian and Erlandson were in the band until the end of the 2007 RRIICCEE tour of the United States, at which time Simon Haas - Nikolas Haas' brother - joined the group.
Warlocks are distinguished from wizards as creating forbidden "pacts" with powerful creatures to harness their innate magical gifts. Enchanters often practice a type of magic that produces no physical effects on objects or people, but rather deceives the observer or target through the use of illusions. Enchantresses in particular practice this form of magic, often to seduce. For instance, the Lady of the Green Kirtle in C.S. Lewis's The Silver Chair enchants Rilian into forgetting his father and Narnia; when that enchantment is broken, she attempts further enchantments with a sweet-smelling smoke and a thrumming musical instrument to baffle him and his rescuers into forgetting them again.
The first annual Austin Psych Fest was held on Saturday March 8, 2008 at The Red Barn in north Austin, featuring performances by The Black Angels and Ringo Deathstarr among others. In 2009, the festival was extended to three days and was held from March 13–15 at the Radio Room, a short lived venue on Sixth Street. The Seeds' Sky Saxon performed with Shapes Have Fangs as his backing band and Austin psychedelic legends The Golden Dawn performed their 1968 album "Power Plant" in its entirety. The lineup included modern psychedelic heavies Dead Meadow, A Place to Bury Strangers, Wooden Shjips, The Warlocks, and The Black Angels.
This era began in about 1965, when The Matrix, the first folk club in San Francisco, opened; Jefferson Airplane, then a newly formed and unknown band, performed that night. Later that year, a band known as the Warlocks became the Grateful Dead, performing at The Fillmore, which was to become a major musical venue in the area. Jefferson Airplane became the first San Francisco psychedelic band signed to a major label, followed soon after by Sopwith Camel. In 1966, the first acid test was held, and the use of the drug LSD became a more prominent part of psychedelic rock, and music in general.

The Empire of Izmir has long been a divided land, ruled by the Mages, an elite group of powerful warlocks. In the capital of Sumdall, one individual, an evil mage named Profion, creates a magical sceptre that can allow him to control Gold dragons, but his attempt to control an individual fails, and he is forced to kill it. As he begins to make new plans, the dragon bleeds into the nearby river, causing it to catch fire, which many inhabitants notice, including a pair of teenage thieves, Ridley and his best friend Snails. Later, Profion and the Council of Mages discuss the controversial views of Empress Savina, who wants to give rights to non-mages in Izmir.
Another camp believes that the witches' or warlocks' (male witch) mark is a gendered aspect of the witch-hunts. In Anne Barstow's book, Witchcraze: A New History of the European Witch Hunts, the witches' mark is viewed from a feminist perspective. Barstow sees the witch hunts of Europe as an attempt to control women, and the witches' mark as an excuse to control women's bodies through violence and sadism. The searching of women's bodies for the witches' mark gives insight into the reality of a woman's position during this time: "when 'a personable and good-like woman' was defended by one of the local gentry the pricker argued that, having been accused, she must be tried anyway".
Not only were major expeditions assembled in Chiloé but thousands of Chilotes migrated to the sparsely populated mainland to work in sheep-raising estancias, as railway navvies, or become independent settlers. Belief in witchcraft has been common in the archipelago reaching such influence, that in 1880 Chilean authorities put on trial warlocks said to rule the archipelago through a secret society. Once considered an isolated and backward part of Chile today the archipelago retains its rural character despite increased connectivity and the growth of cities such as Ancud, Castro and Quellón. Since the 1990s salmon aquaculture and tourism have been important sources of revenue in the archipelago complementing traditional activities such as fishing and small-scale agriculture.
A mysterious and extremely powerful entity with chalk white skin and black hair who later became the primary antagonist replacing the Adversary. Trapped by the Boxing League, a division of Warlocks specialized in capturing and containing the most dangerous of magical threats, during the expansion of the empire, Mister Dark was contained within a stone box which drained his power and transmitted it to be used by the Adversary. Looters mistakenly released the creature who proceeded to drain them of life. Mister Dark reacquired his stolen power including a portion that powered the Witching Cloak, destroyed the enchantments that held the Fabletown buildings together and set off to Fabletown to seek revenge.
Charmed is an American supernatural fantasy drama television series created by Constance M. Burge and produced by Aaron Spelling and his production company Spelling Television, with Brad Kern serving as showrunner. The series was originally broadcast by The WB for eight seasons from October 7, 1998, until May 21, 2006. The series narrative follows a trio of sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches of all time, who use their combined "Power of Three" to protect innocent lives from evil beings such as demons and warlocks. Each sister possesses unique magical powers that grow and evolve, while they attempt to maintain normal lives in modern-day San Francisco.
The term "Power of Three" in the original Charmed television series (1998–2006) and its reboot series of the same name (2018–present), refers to the bond and connection between three sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, who are said to be the most powerful trio of witches. The term is represented by the triquetra symbol, which is placed on the cover of the sisters' Book of Shadows in both shows. Each sister has individual magical powers, which is noticeably stronger when they are combined as the "Power of Three". The sisters use their powers to protect innocent lives and vanquish demons and warlocks, often invoking their joint "Power of Three" to defeat their enemies.
The set was another smash-hit, receiving outstanding reviews, not only from the Norwegian press; UK magazine Hip-Hop Connection labeled the track "Strictly Kings And Better" the best graffiti song ever recorded. In 2001, the trio released another album; Afterlife. The love from the Norwegian music press was not an exception, as the new release received tremendous love and coverage from the Norwegian media. The first single, “Rap Game”, went straight to heavy rotation on the biggest Norwegian radio stations, and Warlocks received the prestigious Alarm Award for best hip-hop album. The group second single was the playful track called “Hahaha!”, accompanied by a hilarious video where the trio dresses up as foul police officers.
The tribes are often xenophobic, and the social structure varies from tribe to tribe. It is known that the drow mastered elemental binding before gnomes did- including a cultural group of fire- elemental binders called the Sulatar. There is also a subgroup called the umbragen, or shadow elves, who worship the Mockery in the form of a scorpion god and Khyber or the Umbra, the Consuming Shadow, for whom the umbragen are named; the umbragen dwell underground beneath Xen'drik and are noted for producing many warlocks and soulknives. Drow in Eberron run the gamut from almost feral in nature to being fully civilized and on par with the cultural level of Khorvaire, varying from tribe to tribe.
B.C. Rich uses unusual shapes for its solid body guitars; pictured is the Warlock model The introduction of the Warlock model in 1981 helped push B.C. Rich into the heavy metal music genre. Notable early players included Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe, Lita Ford, Paul Stanley of KISS (featuring a broken mirror top), Randy Jackson (Zebra), Craig Goldy of Dio and Giuffria, and a young pre-Les Paul playing Slash. Its popularity continues with players such as Slayer guitarist Kerry King. While Slipknot was gaining in popularity (early 2000's), guitarist Mick Thomson was well known for his signature red/black and black/white Warlocks with "HATE" fretboard inlays.
Cardamone and Don shared a bachelor pad of sorts toward the back of the large house that had a separate entrance and bathroom. The Kingswell house, as it came to be known, evolved in into a refuge for an eclectic cast of like-minded individuals including members of The Mars Volta, Need New Body, The Warlocks, G. Love, Maroon 5, Ariel Pink, Beachwood Sparks, Earl Greyhound and others. The demos that had been sketched out on four track over the months post-Penance Soiree touring were presented to US side of the record label and were met with indifference. Cardamone refused to accept any more delays and asked to be released from the contract with V2.

When Luca and his men are looking for Jidan and Atelia at the bottom of , Jidan offers himself to save Atelia, leaving Arusu desperately searching for his body in vain. Kesey was in flight from a drug charge at the time. Notable members of the group include Kesey's best friend Ken Babbs, Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Garcia, Lee Quarnstrom, and Neal Cassady. Stewart Brand, Dorothy Fadiman, Paul Foster, Dale Kesey (his cousin), George Walker, the Warlocks (now known as the Grateful Dead), Del Close (then a lighting designer for the Grateful Dead), Wavy Gravy, Paul Krassner, and Kentucky Fab Five writers Ed McClanahan and Gurney Norman (who overlapped with Kesey and Babbs as creative writing graduate students at Stanford University) were associated with the group to varying degrees. Luke claims ignorance of where Jocelyn hid the Mortal Cup and refuses to negotiate with them or interfere with Valentine's plans. Clary and Jace, accompanied by Simon, tell Hodge what they learned, and Hodge tells them about the Circle: a group of Shadowhunters that Valentine formed to eliminate all Downworlders (vampire, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, and others), which Jocelyn, Valentine's wife, was forced to join. Clary and Jace go to the Silent City to speak to the Silent Brothers, who tell them that a block in her mind prevents her from remembering the Shadow World; itself placed by a warlock named Magnus Bane. Isabelle meanwhile has been given an invitation to a party hosted by Magnus.

In the first-season finale, Prue loses the love of her life Andy while he tried to protect them from a demonic foe. The show's second season (1999–2000) opens with Prue's continual struggle to deal with the death of Andy from the previous season. Even if the imp was successful in getting the friendship it sought, it still often played pranks on its friend either out of boredom or simply because this was the nature of the imp. This trait led to using the word “impish” for someone who loves pranks and practical jokes. Eventually, it came to be believed that imps were the familiar spirit servants of witches and warlocks, where the little demons served as spies and informants. During the time of the witch hunts, supernatural creatures such as imps were sought out as proof of witchcraft, though often the so-called imp was merely a black cat, lizard, toad or some other form of uncommon pet.
Their second album Devotion Implosion was released in 2009 on Cordless/Rykodisc and was produced by the band themselves and mixed by Gareth Jones, (who has worked with Depeche Mode, Liars, Wire, Nick Cave and These New Puritans). She first appears in the episode Baby's First Demon where she is shown to be in control over a demonic market run by demons and warlocks. She sends numerous demons to go after Wyatt, but fails at these attempts. The Crone blames the unsuccessful attempts to kidnap the baby on one of the demons at the market and she vanquishes him after causing Phoebe and Piper to go after his alerts and cause destruction in the demonic market. The Crone makes her second appearance in the episode Sense and Sense Ability where she weakens the Charmed Ones' senses with the aid of a totem monkey of See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil.
The arrival of Whitelighter Chris, who comes from a future where Wyatt is a powerful evil tyrant, seems to confirm Gideon's fears. Gideon's plans to destroy the boy, using demons and warlocks as surrogates, are complicated by the very thing that seemed to prove his suspicions – Chris – who is bent on protecting his older sibling from the influences that turned him evil. The young half-witch/whitelighter vows to find the culprit who turns his brother evil in the future and stop him. Gideon's multi-episode plots are also foiled, nearly as often, by Wyatt's innately strong, if immature magical talents, and Gideon grows increasingly desperate to succeed, gradually exposing himself to discovery.
At the time of Gonzalez's murder Simon was barely three months out of jail and on parole after a 1981 conviction for killing a woman in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. The first gay motorcycle club in San Francisco was the Warlocks, which was founded in 1960, followed by the California Motorcycle Club, also founded in 1960 later in the year. By the mid-1960s, San Francisco's South of Market district had become the center of the gay motorcycle club scene and was home to motorcycle clubs such as the Barbary Coasters (founded in 1966) and the Constantines and the Cheaters (both founded in 1967).

Wujcik started off as head of the gaming society at Wayne State University, The Warriors and Warlocks of the Wayne Weregamers Society, also known as the Wayne State Weregamers, where he met and befriended Kevin Siembieda. By 1980 the Wayne Weregamers became known as the Detroit Gaming Center, when Wujcik, the CDM (Congress of Dungeon Masters) and Siembieda moved the group from the Monteith House, scheduled for demolition, to an off-campus building run by a non-profit; Siembieda became Assistant Director for the Center with Wujcik as Director. Wujcik published the science- fiction adventure Sector 57 (1980) under the Detroit Gaming Center banner. Wujcik worked as a computer columnist for The Detroit News where he wrote their weekly "Computer Column" from 1979 to 1981.
The label also published a massive tome of unreleased photos and ephemera of gothic rock legends Bauhaus, Bahaus Undead, curated by founding member Kevin Haskins. That led to a record deal for Haskins’ project with Daniel Ash, Poptone, featuring newly recorded versions of songs by Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, and Love & Rockets. 2017 & 2018 saw the label partner with a number of underground and indie artists such as The Warlocks, Bestial Mouths, Magic Wands, Fantome (featuring Hanin Elias of Atari Teenage Riot), Gary Wilson, Egrets On Ergot, Descartes A Kant, Pastel Ghost, United Ghosts, Holygram, Whispering Sons as well as more familiar acts such as The Guess Who, Tom Keifer (of Cinderella), and Gin Blossoms plus live albums from Jane's Addiction, Culture Club and Sheryl Crow.
Of all the Silver Lake music venues that existed during this early period, Silverlake Lounge remains the longest standing (although Spaceland, just down the street, did close, remodel and rebrand itself The Satellite and continues to showcase local music to this day). The band Silversun Pickups famously took their name from the liquor store across the street from Silverlake Lounge, inspired by the cross streets the venue is located at. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club played regularly (often with bands such as Brian Jonestown Massacre & The Warlocks), including a three night weekend stint, just before they were signed to their record contract. Later, bands such as Local Natives, Lord Huron, King Washington, Nacosta, & Silver Snakes would play weekly Monday night residencies at the venue.
Fearless's investigations reveal that humans have been synthesizing it on the planet for distribution to the nomadic members of the species. A raid on this drug lab also reveals the presence of further contamination: breech-loading flintlock rifles designed specifically for Medusan use, and crude enough for the Medusans to manufacture themselves. Whilst embroiled in this plot and trying to uncover who might be behind it, Honor Harrington becomes a figure of political note for the first time. In order to capitalize on Honor's accomplishments and discredit the conservatives in the government who are pushing for the Kingdom's withdrawal from Basilisk, a group of officers and politicians conspire to delay the completion of Warlocks refit and keep Young away from his post for as long as possible.
Dravid tells Matt that he is a part of one of the five children who defeated the Old Ones, and has inherited their powers while Mrs Deverill and the citizens of Lesser Malling, who are all descendants of witches and warlocks, want to sacrifice him on the night of Roodmas, the day black magic is most powerful. Richard doesn't believe Dravid and begins to leave with Matt. But as Professor Dravid returns to his office to contact the Nexus and get his keys, he is attacked and walks out of his office with a cut in his neck and dies. Richard quickly takes his keys, but then is also attacked by dinosaur skeletons in the museum and at that moment hundreds of skeleton dinosaurs turn to life and attempt to kill Matt and Richard.
Charmed initially focused on the three Halliwell sisters, Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), who are known as the most powerful good witches of all time in the supernatural community. They live their everyday lives battling demons and warlocks in modern-day San Francisco, while still trying to have a normal life. "Charmed Again (Part 1)" carries on from the previous season three finale episode "All Hell Breaks Loose", where Prue and Piper unwittingly exposed themselves as witches to the world after being caught on camera by a local news crew fighting with the demon Shax (Michael Bailey Smith), the personal assassin of The Source of All Evil. Meanwhile, Phoebe ventured into The Underworld to save her demon boyfriend Cole Turner (Julian McMahon) from his dark side.
The series starts when Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano) returns from New York and moves back into the family's Halliwell Manor in San Francisco to live with her sisters Prue (Shannen Doherty) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs). When Phoebe discovers the family's Book of Shadows in the attic, she learns that she and her sisters are the most powerful witches ever known, destined to protect both innocents and the world at large from demons, warlocks, and other evil creatures. Phoebe, reasonably suspecting the book to be a novelty, reads its initial inscription--unaware that it also happens to be an incantation activating the sisters' supernatural powers once all three are reunited in their ancestral home. Victorian building filmed as the Halliwell Manor is located at Carroll Avenue in Los Angeles, California.
The "Power of Three" originally included Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano). The Halliwell sisters are also known as The Charmed Ones, said to be the most powerful witches ever known. In addition to their combined "Power of Three", each sister has individual powers; the eldest Prue initially receives the ability to move objects with her mind by channeling telekinesis through her eyes, middle sister Piper initially receives the power to "freeze" people and objects in time, and the youngest Phoebe initially has the power of premonition, enabling her to see into the future and the past. The sisters use their powers to protect innocent lives and vanquish various demons and warlocks, often invoking their joint "Power of Three" to defeat their enemies.
Following the US release of Thunder + Lighting the band signed with Mute Records, which licensed and released the album in the UK and Europe, and via EMI (Mute's parent label) in Japan. The single releases, "Crows" (2004, #75) and "Sleepwalkers" (2005, #71), each appeared in the UK Singles Chart for one week. Their third album The Curious City was released in August 2005 on Birdman/Mute. Modey Lemon has performed with The White Stripes, The Von Bondies (2002 UK tour), Girl Talk, the Blues Explosion, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Oneida (2005 Europe tour), The Warlocks (2003 UK Tour), Icarus Line (2004 UK tour), Dinosaur Jr. (2005 tour dates in UK/Europe/US), Arctic Monkeys (2009 US tour), and has played festivals such as Glastonbury (2005), ArthurFest (2005), Meredith Music Festival (2003), and Transmusicales (2004).
Spindrift is an American psychedelic rock band, created by singer-songwriter- composer-producer-actor Kirpatrick Thomas. Founded in 1992, the band originated in Newark, Delaware along with such other local bands of the period including Jake and the Stiffs, The Verge, Boy Sets Fire, Zen Guerilla and Smashing Orange. Heavily influenced by The Doors, My Bloody Valentine, Hawkwind, Bruce Haack, and Chrome, Spindrift's early stages were experimental and differed greatly from their present sound though the band's musical style is ever in a period of flux. In the summer of 2001, band members Kirpatrick Thomas, Joe Baluta and Zachary Hansen re-located to Los Angeles. The band re- formed to include Bobby Bones, Dave Koenig, Frankie "Teardrop" Emerson and Rob Campanella of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Jason “Plucky” Anchondo of The Warlocks.
Sheridan also has a similar accident in the same Paris tunnel, and speaks to a "guardian Angel Diana" who urges her to fight to survive, which drew considerable controversy. Sheridan later adopts the name Diana after a boating accident that results in amnesia. The opening days of the show also introduced the Theresa/Ethan/Gwen love triangle that persisted as an ongoing main story line to the very last episode of the series. For much of the first three to four years of the series, supernatural elements such as witches, warlocks, and closet doors leading to Hell were major plot points, many surrounding the machinations of the centuries-old witch Tabitha Lenox and her doll-brought-to- life sidekick, Timmy — named by Entertainment Weekly as one of their "17 Great Soap Supercouples" in 2008.
My Bloody Valentine, Chapterhouse, Slowdive, Ride, Six By Seven, Mogwai, Bardo Pond, The Flowers of Hell, Yume Bitsu, Luna, Windy & Carl, The Third Eye Foundation, American Analog Set, Black Mountain, Flying Saucer Attack, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Colorsound, The Warlocks, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Icarus Line, The Morning After Girls, Scarling, and Wooden Shjips. "Hey Man" is used as the theme song for the Vice show "Abandoned" "Hordes of bands would rank Playing with Fire [Spacemen 3's third studio album] as the equal (or better) of psychedelia's '60s/'70s forebears" (Ned Raggett, AllMusic). It represented "a blueprint for the next generation of ambient drone, space rock acts" (Laura Hightower). In 1998, a tribute album to Spacemen 3 was released by the Rocket Girl label.
Characteristically he assumes that Cale was hurting her and offered to bury the corpse. Richard has admitted to murdering his father, as he reminisces on the first page. Richard was once called to task for this by a tribunal of what appeared to be superior demons, warlocks and other evil creatures, despite being stripped of his magic and immortality, Richard treated the entire proceedings with his usual cavalier attitude, apparently oblivious to the danger he was in. When he was eventually found guilty, Richard, in one of the character's few serious moments revealed that he retained his magic and had gone along with the entire trial for momentary amusement, describing the tribunal as "Lesser Demons" and casually slew the entire courtroom, with the exception of the mortally wounded Judge.

Beyond the Gates of Dream is a collection of short stories by science fiction and fantasy author Lin Carter. It was first published in paperback by Belmont Books in 1969. The book collects seven stories by Carter, two of them collaborative, together with an introduction and afterward. One oddity in regard to the first edition of the collection is that its back cover blurb references and summarizes three stories of Carter's presumably intended for the collection but which do not actually appear in it, including a time travel story and two other stories identifiable as "The Martian El Dorado of Parker Wintley," (later published in The DAW Science Fiction Reader (1976)) and "The Gods of Neol-Shendis," (published in Amra (July 1966), later revised as "The Gods Of Niom Parma" (published in Warlocks and Warriors (1970)).
Halloweentown proposes that fantasy beings such as witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, mummies, ghosts, trolls, ogres, zombies, pumpkin heads (a race of people with jack-o'-lanterns for heads), skeletons, goblins, humanoids with varying numbers of heads, humanoids with varying numbers of limbs, and humanoids with varying numbers of sensory organs are real, but have separated themselves from Earth's history to escape humans' fear and persecution. These characters created their own community, "Halloweentown," a thousand years ago in an alternate universe. Travel between Halloweentown and the ordinary, historical world (which Halloweentown residents call "The Mortal World") is only possible with magical aid, and only at regulated times (on Halloween), until the portal seals at midnight. In the second film, they permanently open the portal between the Mortal World and Halloweentown, and events of the third film breach the gap even more.
While volunteering for KPFA as a recording engineer during this period, he met bluegrass banjo player Jerry Garcia. Despite seemingly opposite musical interests, they soon formed a friendship. Following a brief period as a Post Office Department employee and keno marker in Las Vegas (initially rooming with Constanten, who soon departed to study under Berio and other members of the Darmstadt School in Europe); a second stint with the Post Office in San Francisco; and a collaboration with the likes of Reich, Jon Gibson and Constanten upon the latter's return from Europe under the auspices of the San Francisco Mime Troupe, Lesh was talked into becoming the bassist for Garcia's new rock group (then known as The Warlocks) in the fall of 1964. This was a peculiar turn of events, as Lesh had never played bass before.
Tharizdun is mentioned in the Player's Handbook for this edition (2014). He is listed as an example Pact Patron for warlocks who make a Pact with a Great Old One and is later listed in Appendix B: Gods of the Multiverse under the Greyhawk pantheon as Tharizdun, god of eternal darkness, CE, with the Trickery Domain and either a dark spiral or inverted ziggurat as his holy symbols. Tharizdun is also mentioned in the Dungeon Master's Guide for this edition (2014), this time listed as a member of the pantheon of the Dawn War Deities for the Nentir Vale setting and is listed as Tharizdun, god of madness, CE, with the Trickery Domain and a Jagged counter- clockwise spiral is listed as his holy symbol. Tharizdun is also listed as one of the elder evils in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes.
Auchencrow and Billie were mentioned in place-name verses recorded in the 19th century; > I stood upon Eyemouth Fort, > And guess ye what I saw, > Ferneyside, and Flemington, > Newhouses, and Cocklaw, > The fairy-folk o' Fosterland, > The witches o' Edencraw, > And the bogle in the Billy-myre. > > and among verses referring to witches and warlocks; > > Bourtrees, Bees, and Bairns, > Are rife in Auchencraw, > Where in the days o' auld lang syne, > The wives were witches a', > And Jamie Bour the auld gley'd carle, > Was warlock in yon raw.Henderson, George, The popular rhymes, sayings, and > proverbs of the county of Berwick, (1856), 2, 52-60 Although the 19th-century editor considered the latter verse of recent origin, he noted "Jamie Bour" as a reference to the servant of Robert Logan of Restalrig and Fast Castle mentioned in the Gowrie Conspiracy trial in 1608, who had property in the village.
In the original Charmed series (1998–2006), the "Power of Three" is represented by the triquetra symbol, which is placed on the cover of the Halliwell sisters' book of witchcraft, the Book of Shadows. The "Power of Three" refers to the bond and connection between the three Halliwell sisters, which is noticeably stronger when their individual powers are combined. In the pilot episode "Something Wicca This Way Comes", the youngest sister Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) discovers the Book of Shadows and reads a magical incantation out loud, which activates each sister's individual power as well their combined "Power of Three". Throughout the series' run, the sisters are able to vanquish powerful demons and warlocks by using their combined "Power of Three" and chanting spells together, although the latter is not always necessary as long as all three sisters are together for the spells to work.
Coltaine's Wickans defeat one of Kamist Reloe's tribes, though outnumbered seven to one, thus convincing Duiker that Coltaine means to do more than merely flee the rebellion. When the refugees are caught at a wide river between two armies, Coltaine insists on giving the Malazan nobles under Nethpara no special treatment, despite their protests, and it turns out that he insisted on sending the wagons of wounded across the river first in order to conceal the laying of a road under the water that his sappers then detonate when the peasant army starts to cross it behind the fleeing refugees, while Coltaine leads his forces to defeat the army ahead of the refugees. Coltaine's warlocks, led by Sormo E’nath, defeat a Semk tribal god by loosing the spirits of the land against it. Kalam heads south toward Aren, accompanied by Apt and pursued by Yil.
Kesey's role as a medical guinea pig inspired him to write the book One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in 1962. The success of the book, as well as the sale of his residence at Stanford, allowed him to move to La Honda, California in the mountains west of Stanford University. He frequently entertained friends and many others with parties he called "Acid Tests" involving music (such as Kesey's favorite band, The Warlocks, later known as the Grateful Dead), black lights, fluorescent paint, strobes and other "psychedelic" effects, and, of course, LSD. These parties were noted in some of Allen Ginsberg's poems and are also described in the books The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs by Hunter S. Thompson, and Freewheelin Frank, Secretary of the Hell's Angels by Frank Reynolds.
On 5 July 2010, the MZ-3A was re-deployed to the Jack Edwards National Airport in Gulf Shores, Alabama to assist in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill recovery operation. At a ribbon- cutting ceremony on 26 October 2011 at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, NAES Lakehurst, New Jersey, and in recognition of the Centennial of Naval Aviation, the Navy unveiled a fresh identity for the MZ-3A. Emblazoned with red, white and blue striped rudders reminiscent of the Navy's airships just prior to World War II, the airship also carries the insignia of the VXS-1 Warlocks and the banner of the U.S. Navy. In February 2012, four months after its formal acceptance by the Navy, the MZ-3A airship at Joint Base McGuire- Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, it was planned to be deflated and stored, and the program suspended until future missions warranted its re-activation.
The Shadowhunter Chronicles is a media franchise based on the writings of American young adult fiction writer Cassandra Clare, which currently encompasses five novel series (a sixth has been confirmed), three short-story collections, four graphic novels, one film, a television series, and other media. These works are set in a universe where fairy tales and mythologies, both pagan and Judeo-Christian, exist with its figures existing alongside the mundanes (normal humans). A race of humans who possess angel blood, the Nephilim or Shadowhunters, is organized to patrol the Shadow World and prevent demons as well as Downworlders, including warlocks, faeries, werewolves, and vampires, from attacking the mundanes. There is an uneasy peace, a treaty known as The Accords, between the governing body of the Nephilim, known as the Clave, and the Downworlders, not all of whom want peace or respect the Clave's authority.
Holly is sent to ask Artemis how he could chart the information so accurately. On Hybras, which is suspended in "Limbo" (where time is nonexistent), No.1, an imp, is bullied because he is the oldest imp not to have "warped" (changed into a mature demon), and is repulsed by the desire of his kind to return to Earth and take revenge on humanity. After accidentally turning a wooden skewer into stone, No.1 wonders if he is the first warlock since the battle of Tailte, when all the warlocks were supposedly killed during the casting of the time-spell, trapping Hybras in Limbo. Leon Abbot, the last survivor and warhero of the battle of Tailte, now leader of the demon pride, uses something suspiciously like the mesmer to urge No.1 to jump into the island's volcano (used to cast the time-spell) and reach the human world.

Igwe's activism against witchcraft accusations has included lobbying for the enforcement of a law in Nigeria that prohibits accusing children of witchcraft, which has led to conflict with Pentecostal group Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries and in particular Pastor Helen Ukpabio, who has been criticized by Igwe and others, according to a New York Times article, for her teachings "having contributed to the torture or abandonment of thousands of Nigerian children — including infants and toddlers — suspected of being witches and warlocks." On 29 July 2009, Igwe was scheduled to speak at a meeting in Calabar, Nigeria, "condemning the abandonment, torture and killing of children alleged to be witches." As he was about to deliver his talk, members of the Liberty Gospel Church, more than 150 people, invaded the meeting and attacked Igwe, who was "beaten and robbed, relieved of his camera, money and mobile phone before managing to escape to a nearby police station to seek help." Portions of the altercation were captured on film.
"Charmed Again" is a two-part story arc and the season opening of the fourth season of the American television series Charmed; it is also the 67th and 68th overall episodes in the series. Written by Brad Kern and directed by Michael Schultz and Mel Damski, the episodes were originally broadcast in the United States on October 4, 2001 on The WB. The series follows a trio of sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches of all time, who use their combined "Power of Three" to protect innocent lives from evil beings such as demons and warlocks. The story arc deals with the cliffhanger of the season three finale, which featured Prue and Piper dying, and Phoebe trapped in the Underworld. It's revealed that while Phoebe managed to escape with the help of Leo and Cole and get to her sisters, managing to save Piper, Prue had already succumbed to her injuries.
The poem begins: > When chapman billies leave the street, > And neibors, neibors, meet; > As market days are wearing late, > And folk begin to tak the gate, > While we sit bousing at the nappy, > An' getting fou and happy, > We think na on the lang Scots miles, > The mosses, waters, slaps and stiles, > That lie between us and our hame, > Where sits our sulky, sullen dame, > Gathering her brows like gathering storm, > Nursing her wrath to keep it warm. > After Burns has located us geographically: > (Auld Ayr, wham ne'er a town surpasses, > For honest men and bonnie lasses). (a quote that gave Ayr United F.C. their nickname "the honest men"), Tam sits and drinks with his friends, and the reader is regaled with a dark prophecy of Tam's wife Kate: > She prophesied that late or soon, > Thou wad be found, deep drown'd in Doon, > Or catch'd wi' warlocks in the mirk, > By Alloway's auld, haunted kirk. > Tam's wife, Kate, is portrayed as an authority to be feared.
Gryllen consumes Kulp, but Baudin wounds him and Gryllen flees. Baudin is critically injured, and Felisin and Heboric leave him behind, only to come across Leoman and Toblakai guarding Sha’ik's corpse; they recognize her as Sha’ik reborn, a mantle Felisin accepts. As water grows scarce and raiders harry the refugees, Coltaine's group approaches the river P’atha. His warlocks Nil and Nether at one point open a tunnel into a raider encampment to destroy it, incidentally revealing water underground, and learn that a Semk tribesman has a piece of the destroyed Semk god sewn into him. At P’atha crossing, Nil and Nether sacrifice a mare to gift Coltaine's heavy cavalry with strength enough to charge up Kamist Reloe's artificial ramp, and they’re helped by the wayward sappers who hid themselves in the ramp the night before; the marines ably guard the wounded and a Wickan band guarding the refugees destroys its attackers, though not without losses of refugees, and attacks the flanking tribes’ flanks to drive them away.

The roots of the New Riders can be traced back to the early 1960s Peninsula folk/beatnik scene centered on Stanford University's now-defunct Perry Lane housing complex in Menlo Park, California, where future Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia often played gigs with like- minded guitarist David Nelson. The young John Dawson (also known as "Marmaduke") also played some concerts with Garcia, Nelson, and their compatriots while visiting relatives on summer vacation. Enamored of the sounds of Bakersfield-style country music, Dawson would turn his older friends on to the work of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens and provided a vital link between Timothy Leary's International Federation for Internal Freedom in Millbrook, New York (having boarded at the Millbrook School) and the Menlo Park bohemian coterie nurtured by Ken Kesey. Inspired by American folk music, rock and roll, and blues, Garcia formed the Grateful Dead (initially known as The Warlocks) with blues singer Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, while Nelson joined the similarly inclined New Delhi River Band (which would eventually come to include bassist Dave Torbert) shortly thereafter.
Satan's Six were a team of agents of the Kirbyverse's interpretation of Satan himself, created for the sole purpose of causing chaos in the mortal plane. But the continued incompetence of the members always seemed to be their downfall (and humanity's benefit). Members included: Brian Bluedragon, a doltish knight of Arthur's court, Hard Luck Harrigan, a petty gambler and bookie who worked in the 1930s criminal underworld, Dr. Mordius, a Henry Jekyll wannabe, Kuga the Lion-Killer, a warrior of African origin, Dezira, of ancient Babylon, and Frightful, a demon in Satan's employ whose job it was to keep the members in line....a "drill instructor from Hell", so to speak.... The TeenAgents were a group of four teenaged denizens of the Inner City populated by descendants of humans who fled the surface world from persecution as witches and warlocks and discovered and salvaged remnants of the Ninth Men's world that somehow survived "the Great Catastrophe". Their job was to intervene should any of the wild (and most times, monstrous) creatures that populate the bowels of the Earth try to attack the surface world (or as they referred to it, "Upworld").
