Harefield is a suburb and Electoral Ward near Bitterne in Southampton, England. Harefield Ward consists of a small council housing estate built around 1952/3 on the estate of Harefield House but also consists of a large Conservative voting area. Harefield Ward had a population of 14,035 at the 2011 Census, and is adjacent to Bitterne Park, Peartree, Sholing and Bitterne wards. Harefield Ward is one of the wealthiest wards in Southampton.

The method works by displaying a paper vote record under glass or clear plastic after the voter indicates their vote(s). This constituency covers the town and outskirts of Keighley in West Yorkshire. It comprises the mostly Labour voting area of Keighley itself, the Conservative voting spa town of Ilkley, and the rural areas of Craven and Worth Valley which are also mostly Conservative voting. The seat has a large minority with Asian heritage, especially from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Before the late 1950s, Midwestern Ontario had not leaned towards either the Progressive Conservatives (Tories) or the Liberals (Grits) on a regular basis as there was wide variation in each party's results election to election. The south of the constituency has been seen as a site for building large entertainment centres on Rainham's large marshland area, and was viewed as a potential site for the European Disneyland project, although it was considered much less suitable than the current position near Paris. There have been plans to build a casino but permission is yet to be granted. Hornchurch is a predominantly suburban and Conservative-voting area, but the seat is seen as a swing seat due to Rainham and Elm Park's working class voters and because the wealthiest Emerson Park area of Hornchurch does not form part of the constituency, instead forming part of Upminster constituency. The Conservative Robin Squire was elected to Parliament as the member for Hornchurch on 3 May 1979, in one of the most surprising results of that election.

This referendum was conducted very differently from the European Communities membership referendum in 1975; a more localised and regionalised counting procedure was used, and the ballot was overseen by the Electoral Commission, a public body which did not exist at the time of the first vote. This article lists, by voting area for Great Britain and Gibraltar and by parliamentary constituency for Northern Ireland, all the results of the referendum, each ordered into national and regional sections. Under the provisions of the European Union Referendum Act 2015, there were a total of 382 voting areas across twelve regions, using the same boundaries as used in European Parliamentary elections since 1999, under the provisions of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002, with votes counted at local authority level.
