He directed four Blake's 7 stories, all within the show's second season in 1978: Weapon, Pressure Point, Voice from the Past and Gambit.

In the same High Street, we find a cinema named the Bijou Dream ("A Slice of Life", "The Nodder" and "The Rise of Minna Nordstrom"). The village also contains a resident doctor ("The Truth About George"), and of course a church ("Anselm Gets His Chance"), with its inevitable Choral Society ("Mulliner's Buck-U-Uppo"). About a mile or two up the river from the Angler's Rest, stands an ancient and historic public-school ("The Voice from the Past"). These resources gave Blake an unprecedented ability to oppose the Federation. Initially committed to freedom with noble intentions, he began to show increasing levels of stress ("Horizon", "Voice From the Past") and to become more fanatical. Blake began to focus on destroying the Federation's Control centre, the computers controlling climate and commerce for hundreds of worlds—a scheme that Avon and Cally thought to be morally ambiguous because of the thousands of innocent lives it would cost. A reconstruction—effort was undertaken to adapt the fort to what it was originally, based on new photographic evidence. The replica site was built as a centennial project, downstream from the original site, in 1967. Since then, various new exhibits have been unveiled, including the Thunderchief Collection, showcasing artifacts from the local Blackfoot culture; the Shockley Firearms Gallery; and Voice from the Past, an audio program that enables visitors and school children to receive guided tours year round. Seasonal re-enactments take place in the summer involving characters from the fort's history, and are done in partnership with Drama Nutz Productions and Guns of the Golden West, as well as local re-enactment talent.

Similar references were made throughout the series; in the episode "Voice From the Past", Blake (under Federation mind control) convinces Vila by telling him Cally and Avon have "paired up", which Vila quite readily believes. A slightly more bitter note is shown in the episode "Children of Auron"; when Cally reveals why she has never returned to her homeworld, she quite pointedly snaps, "Why do you imagine I've never gone back...affection for him?" at which point she storms off (and the other characters look towards Avon). Cally and Avon quite often went on missions together and shared a knack for delivering quick-witted replies to each other's statements, which would somewhat indicate a growing affection for each other. However, Avon quite openly disdained her compassionate nature and her idealism, which he found to be only somewhat more tolerable than Blake's.
