Within days, I was obsessed, binging through past seasons during the week to tide me over until Season 23's latest episode every Friday night, when I could obsess over the sudden downfall of Valentina, lament the unrelenting defeatism of Nina Bo'Nina Brown, and marvel at the buoyant virtuosity of dynamic duo Shea Couleé and Sasha Velour.

While her socialite hey-day was obviously in the early aughts when it seemed like she was everywhere you looked, wearing a Von Dutch hat and low-slung Juicy Couture velour track pants, closely accompanied by her constant companions Nicole Richie and/or Lindsay Lohan, and mumbling, "That's Hot," at anything and everything that crossed her path.

To show us how it's done, we tapped Sabrina Fuentes, Ella Moore, and Eva Kaufman — the trio behind NYC-based band Pretty Sick — who turned to PUMA Fenty by Rihanna's latest collection (think: varsity-inspired knits, velour track pants, and platform boots) to create party-ready looks that are as relaxed and cool as they are.

Her most recent drag revue, Nightgowns, obtained rave reviews, which she believes is due to the diversity of her act, reminiscent of the lineup in shows she hosted before being on TV. Nonbinary drag performers, drag kings, comedy queens, and more show "the whole lineup of what drag can be in one night," Velour says, creating a safe and inclusive space for people of varying identities.

Chip Wilson, the Canadian founder of Lululemon, the company sometimes credited with creating the athleisure market, also refuses the label: in his memoir, " Little Black Stretchy Pants ," he insists that athleisure is for Diet Coke-drinking mall shoppers in New Jersey who wear pink velour, whereas the ideal Lululemon customer is a thirty-two-year-old woman named Ocean who earns six figures and has ninety minutes to work out every day.

Dressed for the Krammer & Stoudt show in a rejiggered hooded Army M65 fishtail parka, its body elongated and its sleeves shortened; a patch-pocket wool shirt that looked like a supersize version of a standard-issue Pendleton; a pair of drawstring wool trousers Mr. Rubin based on a favorite pair of vintage Capri pants; and a high-crowned Esenshel rabbit velour hat with a brim the size of a cartwheel, TJ looked like an incredibly cool butch girl or a very pretty femme boy or both at once or something altogether in-between.
