In 2016 and 2017, the British Quidditch Cup was held at Rugeley Leisure Centre. The third British Quidditch Cup took place on 19 and 20 March 2016, with 32 teams competing, and the winners were Oxford's team, the Radcliffe Chimeras. The fourth British Quidditch Cup took place on 11 and 12 March 2017, with 32 teams competing, and the winners were Velociraptors QC. In February 2020 a new "Fringe Festival" was announced with a variety of events intended to be held in the town over the May Bank Holiday. The Festival was cancelled in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Two third-generation (VR333M) 1 TB VelociRaptors in IcePack mounting frames The sixth-generation Raptor (or third-generation VelociRaptor) was announced by Western Digital in April 2012. The drives are 2.5-inch devices with 15 mm in height, sold either as bare drives (CHTZ and BHTZ models) or mounted in the IcePack 3.5-inch mounting frame (DHTZ and HHTZ models), which continues the variants available in the previous generation. Benjamin A. Burtt (born 1984), also known as Benny Burtt and Ben Burtt Jr., is an American sound editor for Skywalker Sound. The son of Ben Burtt, Benjamin A. Burtt grew up in Northern California, and first worked in film when he was in high school, as an assistant to his father on Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. He provided the vocal effects of the Velociraptors Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo in the Jurassic World trilogy. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for his work on Black Panther.

The events of the Infinite Crisis miniseries have restored a close analogue of the Pre- Crisis Legion to continuity, as seen in "The Lightning Saga" story arc in Justice League of America and Justice Society of America, and in the "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" story arc in Action Comics. Timber Wolf is included in the Legion and seemingly reconciled with Lightning Lass. In the crossover story "The Lightning Saga", Timber Wolf is revealed to be alive in the present, alongside six other members of the Legion. He was discovered in Gorilla City, participating in a race riding velociraptors with no idea who he really is.

Fowler found that the feet and legs of dromaeosaurs most closely resemble those of eagles and hawks, especially in terms of having an enlarged second claw and a similar range of grasping motion. The short metatarsus and foot strength, however, would have been more similar to that of owls. The RPR method of predation would be consistent with other aspects of Velociraptors anatomy, such as their unusual jaw and arm morphology. The arms, which could exert a lot of force but were likely covered in long feathers, may have been used as flapping stabilizers for balance while atop a struggling prey animal, along with the stiff counterbalancing tail.

Released direct-to-video on November 6, 2001, Raptor was directed by Jim Wynorski. Using recycled footage from the previous three films as well as some new footage filmed in Agua Dulce, California's Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, the film focuses on a small town sheriff (Eric Roberts) and an animal control officer (Melissa Brasselle) investigating a series of deaths by genetically engineered dinosaurs that escape from a nearby laboratory (mainly Velociraptors), while also dealing with their creator Dr. Hyde (Corbin Bernsen). The film has since gone out of print and is largely considered to be the hardest film in the series to obtain.

The raft is then diverted through broken electrified fencing into a restricted area, where a sign announces that there are dangerous carnivores lurking about, and the riders' raft passes through deeper sections of the area as several of the escaped Velociraptors hiss at the vehicle. Before the raft enters the Hydroelectric Plant, a roar (that of a Tyrannosaurus rex) is heard in the distance and a wrecked Jurassic Park jeep is seen. Farther into the station, lights dim as a Tyrannosaurus watches the riders through a small window and lets out its iconic spine- chilling roar. As the track becomes totally dark, a beacon in the center of the raft begins to blink.

The Du Bois stories involve Turok and Andar seeking a way out of the valley. Because of the show's ongoing popularity, these types of suits also became popular for live appearances, with and without the performer's visible legs, and including other types of suits such as two-person triceratops and stegosaurus costumes. As part of their Jurassic Park attractions, Universal Studios created several realistic dinosaur suits for their theme parks, including Velociraptors and a life size adult Triceratops that was also used to advertise the movies. The dinosaur suits utilised in Universal studios appear to replicate the method used for the dinosaurs in the classic Jurassic Park films. They are capable of complex behaviours such as roaring, snapping, trying to eat the guests or even showing affection in ways such as rubbing their heads or noses on the guests.

For Jurassic Park III, the male Velociraptor was given quill- like structures along the back of the head and neck. While this was the extent to which CGI effects were able to render feathers at the time, the structures do not resemble the down-like feathers real-life dromaeosaurids bore or the fully developed arm feathers, akin to the wing feathers of modern birds, born by Velociraptor. In Jurassic World, the raptors appear as protagonists, but their design was the same as it was from the first two films, which drew criticism due to their lack of feathers, even though they were modifying cloning animals. The film has retroactively established that, because geneticists like Dr. Henry Wu (portrayed by BD Wong) have been filling gaps in the dinosaur genome with the DNA of other animals, they made the film series' dinosaurs such as the Velociraptors and Dilophosaurus look and even behave very differently than their predecessors, therefore explaining why they do not have feathers since all genetic-engineered dinosaurs are not pure.
