G3 begins in the west at its interchange with I-280 in Los Altos Hills just south of Stanford University. It proceeds northeast as a four lane expressway over the rolling hills of Stanford University until it reaches Foothill Expressway (G5) with which it shares an at-grade intersection. East of Foothill Expressway, G3 descends down into the more urban areas of the lower peninsula going through the industrialized area of the Stanford Research Park located in Palo Alto. The road along this section has a reduced speed limit and several turnoffs along its length until it reaches El Camino Real (SR 82).

Further south, Highway 95 has more turnoffs to settlements in the municipalities of Iguala de la Independencia and Tepecoacuilco of Trujano como Zacacoyuca, Santa Teresa, Sabana Grande, Sale Palulo, Maxela, Coacoyula Alvarez, Xalitla and Valerio Trujano. From this section, Highway 95 goes into Cañón del Zopilote (Buzzard Canyon), in the municipality of Eduardo Neri, crossing the bridge over the Balsas River (known in this area as Mezcala) and near the town of Mezcal. Further south, the road meets a junction near the archaeological site at La Organera-Xochipala. Subsequently, it crosses the town of El Pantanal, where there is a free state road that bisects Huitziltepec.

North of the interchange, US 29 intersects several major routes that serve the town of Columbia: Shaker Drive/Seneca Drive, Broken Land Parkway, MD 175, and MD 108. Between Broken Land Parkway and MD 175, US 29 has a right-in/right-out interchange between the southbound carriageway and South Entrance Road; the northbound carriageway has two at-grade direct turnoffs to Gates Lane and Old Columbia Road, with median crossovers provided for southbound traffic. Near the MD 108 interchange the northbound carriageway has another direct turnoff to Diamondback Drive. Beyond the MD 108 interchange, US 29 upgrades again into a fully limited-access six-lane grade-separated freeway as it encounters the western terminus of MD 100.

Vasse Highway is a Western Australian highway connecting Busselton and the South Western Highway 15 km south of Manjimup. It is long and travels through jarrah and karri hardwood forests for most of its length, with some small agricultural areas and wineries nearby, and forms the main street of the towns of Nannup (as Warren Road) and Pemberton (as Brockman Street). From Busselton, it starts as State Route 104 from the Bussell Highway 3 km east of Busselton, near the Sir Stuart Bovell sporting complex, and travels the 56 km to Nannup, where it intersects with the Brockman Highway and becomes State Route 10. It then passes Donnelly River and Karri Valley Resort, and 22 km west of Pemberton turnoffs provide entrances to the Beedelup National Park.

The state portion of the highway ends at U.S. Highway 50 and becomes the county-maintained Phantom Canyon Road (CR 67 in Fremont County), carrying the Gold Belt Byway through Phantom Canyon north to Victor, where the state highway resumes, turning west and north before heading into Cripple Creek. The road turns east for a few miles before resuming its northward path, acting as the eastern border of Mueller State Park for several miles before reaching a junction with U.S. Highway 24 in Divide. Again the state portion of the highway ends to overlap U.S. Highway 24 for east into Woodland Park, splitting off the concurrent road to turn north once again. Continuing to the north- northwest, the road enters the Pike National Forest, passing turnoffs for Red Rock Campground and the Manitou Park Recreation Area's Colorado Campground and Painted Rocks Campground before turning west and entering Douglas County, where it promptly heads into Westcreek and turns north until it reaches a junction with North Rainbow Falls Road and turns to the northwest.
