Gascoyne currently lives in Oxfordshire with his partner Silvi and his children Joel, Connie and Freddie. His nickname "the rottweiler" originates from his time at Tyrrell working under his mentor Harvey Postlethwaite. Gascoyne was originally called "Harvey's pit bull" by a truckie called "Jolly" but this was later changed to "the rottweiler" and has stuck with him ever since.

Reid Motorsport is a former British racing team operated by Anthony Reid, the former team truckie of Ultimate Motorsport. The team was founded in 2009 and it only ever competed in the now defunct Superleague Formula race series. It was created when Ultimate Motorsport left the Superleague Formula series. Reid rebranded the team ready for the 2009 Monza Superleague Formula round.

Local bodies of fresh water were inhabited by mollusks at the time. On land Nevada was home to a variety of mammals including both mastodons and rhinoceroses. David John 'Truckie' Parsons (born 1955) is a former racing driver from Castlemaine in Victoria, Australia. He raced his own car in selected races of the 1995, 1996 and 1997 seasons of the Australian Touring Car Championship, as well as Bathurst 1000 and other races for his own and other teams. In 1999, the two David Parsons teamed up together in a Gibson Motorsport Commodore for the 1999 FAI 1000.

In the 1950s Irvine retired to Alice Springs where he lived in his caravan and, a year after being brutally beaten and robbed in his caravan, leaving him requiring care, he suffered from a stroke and died on 12 November 1959. He is buried at the Alice Springs Memorial Cemetery, where the epitaph reads "Outback pioneer, mail man, our first truckie". Irvine was inducted into the Shell Rimula Wall of Fame at ReUnion 2005.

In 1914, Miocene fossils of creatures like freshwater mollusks, mastodons, and rhinoceros were found in the Kawich Mountains northeast of Las Vegas. The site is now known as the Truckie Beds. In 1930 M. R. Harrington was searching for Pueblo Indian pottery when he serendipitously discovered the skull of a ground sloth in Gypsum Cave in southern Nevada.

After some time working on Engine 33, Jack arrives at the scene of another vacant rowhouse fire, where a fellow firefighter from Ladder 49, Dennis Gauquin (Billy Burke), dies after falling through the roof of a building. After a quarrel between the firefighters, the Captain tells them to stick together. Later, Numerous firefighters attend Dennis's funeral. Jack decides, although it is more dangerous, to take his late friend's position as a "truckie", a search and rescue member on Ladder 49 by transferring to the Truck.

The Texas Wheelers is an American sitcom that aired in 1974 and 1975. The series, produced by MTM Enterprises, is about the cantankerous but lovable Zack Wheeler, a long-lost father who returned to raise his children Truckie, Doobie, Boo, and T.J. in rural Texas after their mother died. The show was not successful, due to being broadcast against the second half of NBC's Top 20 hit The Rockford Files, and was canceled after four episodes in the fall of 1974. An additional four episodes were aired in June and July 1975.

Hossack returned to the team for the endurance races and paired with Pate, took eighth place at the Sandown 500 and seventh at Bathurst. While a full-time V8 Supercar drive did not return, Hossack was a valued endurance co- driver for the next several seasons, driving for Romano Racing in 1999 and returning to Gibson Motor Sport in 2000 with a highlight of ninth position for GMS with David 'Truckie' Parsons at Bathurst in 2000. After a few seasons away from V8 Supercars, Hossack returned in 2003, driving a third Ford Performance Racing Falcon with Adam Macrow.

The Kerang train accident occurred on 5 June 2007 at about 13:40 AEST in the Australian state of Victoria, approximately north of the town of Kerang in the state's northwest, and north-northwest of the city of Melbourne. Victoria Police confirmed that 11 people were killed and 23 injured in the crash, making this to date the deadliest Australian rail disaster since 1977.
