After studying pedagogy Annemieke left to Curaçao to stay for a few weeks. She remained there for five years. During that time, after doing several other jobs, she joined radio station Dolphin FM. Some time later she was given a job at TROS Paradise with an afternoon radio show.

Power play is a weekly Dutch television program focused on video games that ran from 1992 through 1993 in the Netherlands on the TROS network. Initially the show ran bi-weekly, but in its second season, it became a weekly show. There were a total of 19 episodes, before the show was cancelled. The show was 25 minutes long and was hosted by Martijn Krabbé, and featured items such as game reviews, tips and tricks and interviews with gamers and people working in the gaming industry.

Sprookjesboom, also known as "The Fairy Tale Tree", "Märchenbaum" and "L'Arbre des Contes", is a computer-animated series for children from the Efteling. The show is produced by the animation studio Motek EntertainmentCompany credits for "Sprookjesboom" at the Internet Movie Database in Amsterdam, based on a concept from Efteling's director, Olaf Vugts. The television program is broadcast daily in several international markets including the Netherlands on TROS and z@ppelin, in Germany on NRW and in Belgium on Ketnet and Club RTL. In April of 1973, TROS, in collaboration with producer René Stokvis, launched a televised competition called Vlieg er eens uit. In this competition, participants were asked to try to break the world record in world's longest human flight. The competition's main prizes were a holiday and the possibility to get a pilot's license. The show was supposed to produce just one episode, recorded in Enkhuizen, which was to be aired on 22 June 1973 on Nederland 1, featuring people jumping of a six metres tall tower in the harbour of that town.

The show failed in its objective completely, as all of the just fifteen contestants fell down in the water quite quickly with its winner noting a time of 1.82 seconds. However, already during the first production, the TROS stated their interest to produce a second edition. The production company sold television rights for the show to Germany, Belgium and Switzerland in 1974, creating a possible audience of up to twenty million viewers. During the show's third edition, there was a preference for serious entrants, as opposed to people trying for fun.

First, three broadcasters (NCRV, KRO and AVRO) decided to join forces and introduced Station 3 in January 1992, with a horizontal format for three days from 6am to midnight (Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays), with programs hosted by DJs from these three broadcasters. As from Monday 5 October 1992, Radio 3 went horizontal completely, with each public broadcaster losing its own designated day (except Veronica on Saturday and TROS on Sunday) but getting a fixed and daily time slot instead. He was signed by Bruce Iglauer, the owner of Alligator Records, in 1978 on the recommendation of Dick Shurman, whom Collins had met in Seattle. Linda de Mol (2007) De Mol made her television debut at age 12 in Wat je zegt ben je zelf, a programme made by children for AVRO. In 1984, she resurfaced on Sky Channel, hosting music programmes such as Coca-Cola Eurochart Top 50 and In touch with the Dutch (some of Endemol's first productions). From 1986 onwards, De Mol announced cartoons on The DJ Kat Show named after her feline sidekick played by US-exile puppeteer Robbie Hahn. In 1990, some of the scripts for Billy Hot Dog were re- written and shown on TROS' Wednesday evening slot.

The Westminster motorcycle parking charge is a charge that Westminster Council makes for parking motorcycles in designated on-street and off-street motorcycle parking bays in the City of Westminster. It was introduced in August 2008 as an Experimental Order made under the authority of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Experimental Orders may not, under the Act, last for more than 18 months, but do not require the formal advertisement and objection procedures of permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) made under the Act. In June 2009, Westminster Council gave notice that it was to turn this into a permanent Traffic Regulation Order.

Gras 11, February 2001 In 2001, the integrity of former MP Tara Singh Varma came into doubt: it was revealed that she had lied about her illness and that she had made promises to development organisations which she did not fulfill. In 2000, she had left parliament because as she claimed, she had only a few months to live before she would die of cancer. The TROS program "Opgelicht" (In English "Framed") revealed that she had lied and that she did not have cancer. Later, she apologised on public television and claimed she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Paul van Herck (19 May 1938 in Berchem – 19 June 1989) was a Belgian writer of science fiction novels and radio plays. Van Herck was a Dutch and French language teacher. He debuted with radio plays for the BRT but became most well known for making plays for the Dutch TROS of which his series about space reporter and NASA astronaut Matt Meldon was the most famous. Apart from his radio plays he wrote many science fiction novels of which Sam, of de Pluterdag (translated in English as Where were you last Pluterday?) was the most notable.

Te land, ter zee en in de lucht (On land, at sea and in the air) was the longest-running general amusement television show and game show of the Netherlands, originally broadcast by TROS. The show was initially branded as Vlieg er eens uit - a pun on the two sayings "ga er eens uit" ("go on holiday") and "uitvliegen" ("leave the nest") - between 1973 and 1977. From 1978 onwards, the show started to expand, adding new competition elements and rotating between cities. Until its end in 2011, it was one of the most popular television productions on the public broadcaster.

As a result of this transformation, creating opportunity for more people to participate, the programme stayed popular throughout the following decades with host Jack van Gelder becoming especially popular among the crowd and with an estimated 2 million viewers per episode in 1993. In early 2009, TROS announced that it was cancelling Te land, ter zee en in de lucht due to time shortage in their broadcast schedules. In 2011, the series was revived for a new season, but was less popular than before. Its last episode scored less than one million viewers and the series was not renewed.

Ren je Rot had a longer lifespan than its equally successful UK-counterpart, but in 1983 parent broadcaster TROS decided to make a change after 123 episodes. Brozius continued performing at parties, events and made guest-appearances in television series; in 1985 he played a troubled policeman in a Christmas-episode of De Poppenkraam. His role as a gambler with money- and health-problems in the hospital-series Medisch Centrum West in 1989 would soon become reality. Brozius invested his money in order to secure his children's future; the money got lost while the tax-bills were piling up.

Beste Zangers, formerly De beste zangers van Nederland (English: The Best Singers (of the Netherlands)), is a Dutch reality television show by public broadcaster AVROTROS (a merger of AVRO and TROS, both part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting). The first series was aired between 5 July and 30 August 2009 and was hosted by Edsilia Rombley. She was first replaced by singer and actor Victor Reinier (2010, 2011) before Jan Smit became the permanent host in 2012. In each series a number of well-known performers alternate as the central artist who picks songs out of their own repertoire to be sung by the others.

The tro che or tro chhe () is a member of the tro family of 2-stringed Cambodian fiddles, the smallest member of the tro family. Its two metal strings are tuned D—A, an octave above the tro sau thom and the highest of the tros. Instrument tunings are approximate in the Cambodian ensembles, and change with key instruments such as the sralay; when the instrument is played in the bassack theatre orchestra (paired with the tro ou instead of tri sau thom, the tro che be tuned the same as the Tro u, one octave higher.

Brahim, host of the show In de mix In de mix is a Flemish television series launched in 2012 and hosted by Moroccan-Belgian R&B; singer Brahim Attaeb known as Brahim. The program brings in two artists from pop and hip hop traditions, in an attempt to make via remakes and covers of well-known earlier hits, new crossover hits that fusions between various genres of music. The inaugural season of the program was broadcast on Eén Belgian Flemish station. It is an adaptation of original series of shows done on Dutch television station TROS and hosted by fellow Moroccan-Dutch artist Ali B and entitled Ali B op volle toeren.

At this time, Robbie Hahn handed over the DJ Kat puppet to British puppeteer Don Austen (who was already employed by Sky as Wally Blubb The Walrus on their Fun Factory weekend morning show). Hahn swiftly rejoined Linda de Mol back in the Netherlands for the very similar TROS television programme De Billy Hotdog Show, the main differences being that the title character was a dog and the show broadcast only once a week. Catrina Hylton-Hull (aka "Treen"), stepdaughter of the late Rod Hull of Emu fame, after numerous auditions, made her first appearance on 11 September 1989. The DJ Kat show did sketches around this time in an attempt to save the flagging format of the series.

An enormous majority of Dutch press and fans had no high hopes for "Ik ben verliefd, Shalalie" at Eurovision, claiming it to be "too old- fashioned", blaming TROS for choosing Kartner to compose the Dutch song. However an incentive has been launched amongst regional Dutch radio stations in support for Sieneke and "Ik ben verliefd, Shalalie", with every station playing the song simultaneously on Thursday 18 February at 11:15 CET. The initiative has been supported by for Eurovision entrant for the Netherlands Marga Bult. Despite criticism "Ik ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie)" entered into the Dutch Single Top 100 at #13, as well as reaching #1 on the Dutch iTunes download chart.

Each player in TRoS defines up to five spiritual attributes for their character, specifying the areas in which they want that character to excel and demonstrate heroism. By far the most common form of transport in Accra, tro tros (motor vehicles re-purposed for passenger transport) is the third biggest, and second most efficient and cost-effective way of getting around the city. The buses are typically minibuses or vans, with the most popular being Nissan Urvan 15-seaters and Mercedes Benz Sprinter or D 309 vans. Trotros are typically decorated with flags and stickers of various countries or (local and international) soccer teams, and with witty sayings, wisecracks, local proverbs (in English or local languages) or Bible verses printed on the bus's rear. Trotros stop at any bus stop or gathering of people, and can also be found at truck and taxi stations, such as the Neoplan station.

A group of entrepreneurs who disliked the type and amount of TV shown by the single public broadcasting channel in the Netherlands acquired a North Sea off-shore drilling platform - the REM Island - and mounted a TV transmitter and started broadcast to American TV-shows like Mr. Ed, the talking horse. This new unofficial TV proved quite popular, but was shut down by a government raid, as the government claimed the islands transmitter trespassed frequency spectrum regulations. Due to the popular outcry and political turmoil caused by this venture, the entrepreneurs jumped on the offered opportunity to go legitimate, as an addition to the 5 private broadcasting associations that were distributed time slots based on their membership in the Dutch public broadcasting system. They founded TROS.

The Riddle of Steel (abbreviated as TRoS) is a role-playing game (RPG) created by Jacob Norwood and published by Driftwood Publishing. It is designed for role-playing in a typical sword and sorcery or high fantasy gameworld environment. The title of The Riddle of Steel is inspired by several references in the movie Conan the Barbarian, including a line of dialogue in which the villain, Thulsa Doom, asks the captured Conan, "What is the riddle of steel?" Doom answers this question by explaining to Conan that the true strength of steel is in the hand that wields it – in other words, it is the resolve and commitment we bring to a task, not the quality or quantity of tools we use in performing it, that is the most important factor in determining success.

Willy Dobbeplantsoen, Olst The show is praised for its influence on Dutch language and culture; many of its catchphrases and buzzwords found their way into the language and some of its fictional locations became real. The Dutch village Olst, for instance, named one of its parks for the show's Willy Dobbeplantsoen; Willy Dobbe, a Dutch TV announcer for the TROS broadcaster, stood for the petty bourgeois mentality the show made fun of. Dobbe herself was the guest of honor at the park's ten-year anniversary, which was attended by Schippers alumni such as Dolf Brouwers (Sjef van Oekel), Clous van Mechelen (Jan Vos), and Rob van Houten (Boy Bensdorp). At the occasion, Olst's mayor, Tom Strien, indicated how controversial the show was since he was forbidden by his parents to watch it.

Mount Ida (Turkish: Kaz Dağı) which plays an important role in ancient Greek mythology and folk tales (such as the cult of Cybele; the Sibylline books; the Trojan War and the epic poem Iliad of Homer; the nymph Idaea (wife of the river god Scamander); Ganymede (the son of Tros); Paris (the son of Priam); Aeneas (the son of Anchises and the goddess Aphrodite) who is the protagonist of the ancient Roman epic poem Aeneid of Virgil) is also near Ayvalık (to the north) and can be seen from numerous areas in and around the town center.

After the Netherlands qualified for the final for the first time in nine years at the , media interest was high over who would succeed Anouk as the Dutch representative at Eurovision in 2014. One of the artists tipped early on as a possible candidate was DJ Armin van Buuren, who announced in June 2013 that he was open to participating at the contest as long as AVROTROS gave him full artistic freedom and abandoned plans for a national final to select the entry. Shirma Rouse, one of the backing singers for Anouk at the 2013 contest, was another candidate mentioned after being promoted by Anouk at several events in 2013. The Common Linnets - Ilse DeLange and Waylon On 5 November 2013, TROS announced that they would publish the name of the Dutch entrant on 25 November.

On January 2, 1965, the first Top 40 was compiled, with its first #1 hit "I Feel Fine" by The Beatles. In September 1974, the Stichting Nederlandse Top 40 bought the Top 40 and named it De Nederlandse Top 40. The Dutch Top 40 is one of the 4 official charts in the Netherlands, the other three being the B2B Single Top 100, which is based entirely on pure sales and streaming, the Mega Top 50 from (NPO 3FM) which, like the Dutch Top 40 also includes airplay data and the 538 Top 50. From October 4th. 1974 until May 20th. 1976, the Top 40 was broadcast by the TROS on the pop radiostation Hilversum 3 presented by Dutch famous DJ Ferry Maat. From May 28st 1976 until November 29th. 1985 the Top 40 was broadcast by Veronica on Hilversum 3.

NPO logo was added on August 2014 Launching on 11 October 1965, NPO 3FM was created as Hilversum 3 (later Radio 3) by the Minister for Culture and Social Recreation, Maarten Vrolijk, to counterbalance the popular new offshore stations such as Radio Veronica. It broadcast the so-called vertical programming. Due to the nature of the Dutch public broadcasting system, with several broadcasters being awarded airtime based on the numbers of paying members they have, NPO 3FM hosted radio shows by a different broadcaster daily (respectively: AVRO, VARA, EO+VPRO, TROS, Veronica, NCRV and KRO). The station was quickly popular because of this 'unpredictable' style and diversity (as an example, Christian broadcaster EO used to broadcast Christian-themed programs (including a request show with religious music), followed by the now legal Radio Veronica with a format based on Top 40-pop).

On 25 November 2013, the Dutch Eurovision Song Contest broadcasters, AVRO and TROS, announced in a press conference, that the band would represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen with the song "Calm After the Storm". Ilse De Lange and Waylon presented their song for Eurovision 2014 for the first time in the Dutch TV Show 'De Wereld Draait Door' on the 12th of March and released the final version the next day. On 9 May 2014, they released their debut studio album The Common Linnets and the following day reached second place in the Eurovision final behind Conchita Wurst of Austria. On 17 May 2014 the album entered the Dutch Albums Chart at number 1. As well as illustration, he began to be known from the beginning of the 1980s as a sculptor and creator of objects and installations. He presented his works at both solo exhibitions and joint exhibitions with his colleagues from the art group Tvrdohlaví (The Stubborn Ones), active from 1987 to 1991, which was one of the earliest post- modern art groups in the Czech art scene, and of which Skála was a founder member. He is also a member of a number of other art collectives, including: Bude konec světa (BKS; The End of the World is Coming), he is Commander of the Order of the Green Ladybird (Řád zelené beroušky), and a member of the music groups Malý taneční orchestr Universal (the Universal small dance band), which performs popular music from the communist era of Czechoslovakia in a humorous fashion, and Finský barok (Finnish Baroque). He is a member of the Sklep theatre company, and the vocal trio Tros Sketos.

On 27 May 2009, Bocelli sang "Il Gladiatore", from the Gladiator soundtrack, followed by the UEFA Champions League Anthem, which is based on "Zadok the Priest" by G.F. Handel, during the opening ceremony of the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final, in the Stadio Olimpico, in Rome. On 3 November, My Christmas, his first Holiday album, produced by David Foster, was released and went on to become the best- selling Holiday album of the year. The Andrea Bocelli & David Foster Christmas Special, the PBS special of the album, first aired on Thanksgiving night in the United States, and continued to be broadcast in the United States and Canada throughout the month of December. In late November, the program was broadcast in Mexico and in the UK; it later aired, 15 and 25 December, on Italia 1, in Italy, 19 December, on TVE2 and TROS, in Spain and the Netherlands, and Christmas Eve, on vtm and RTL-TVI, in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The Andrea Bocelli & David Foster Christmas Special, the PBS special of the album, first aired on Thanksgiving night in the United States, and continued to be broadcast in the United States and Canada throughout the month of December. In late November, the program was broadcast in Mexico and in the UK; it later aired, December 15 and 25, on Italia 1, in Italy, December 19, on TVE2 and TROS, in Spain and the Netherlands, and Christmas Eve, on vtm and RTL-TVI, in Belgium and Luxembourg. On November 3, during the World Premiere of Disney's A Christmas Carol, in Leicester Square, London, following the switching on of the annual Oxford Street and Regent Street Christmas lights, Bocelli led the St Paul's Cathedral Choir, and more than 14,000 people across the capital, as they broke the Official Guinness World Record for the biggest ever Christmas carol sing- along, singing "Silent Night". He completed his performance in Leicester Square with, "God Bless Us Everyone", the closing song of the movie, which he provided the vocals for in English, Italian and Spanish.

After the launch of Nederland 3 in 1988, Nederland 2 was the mainstay of the broadcasters AVRO, TROS, VOO/Veronica and VPRO, earning it the nickname ATV. On 30 September 1991, AVRO moved to Nederland 1 whereas VARA moved to this channel. Another restructuring was made on 28 September 1992 when EO moved from Nederland 1 to Nederland 2 and in return, VARA and VPRO moved to Nederland 3. In 1995 VOO/Veronica split from the Netherlands Public Broadcasting to become a commercial channel. On 16 September 2007 the NPO channels Nederland 1, Nederland 2 and Nederland 3 switched completely to anamorphic widescreen, before that time some of the programming was already broadcast in widescreen. On 4 July 2009, all three channels began simulcasting in 1080i high- definition. Before the launch of the permanent HD service, a test version of the Nederland 1 HD channel was made available from 2 June 2008 until 24 August 2008 in order to broadcast Euro 2008, the 2008 Tour de France, and the 2008 Summer Olympics in HD. On 12 March 2013, the NPO announced that Nederland 1, 2 and 3 will be renamed as NPO 1, 2 and 3. The reason for this change is to make the channels and its programmes more recognizable.
